Pre-Scratch Troll Handles (Fantheory)

Please bare with me as this theory has some precepts to understand.

This theory aims at figuring out the troll ancestors’ troll handles in the Pre-Scratch universe.

This means the universe wherein the Ancestors (Mindfang, Darkleer, etc.) were the Heroes, and the Trolls (Vriska, Equius, etc.) were the Ancestors.

The session they had to Scratch.

Now, in order to figure that out, we must look at the only thing we have to compare it to; the Pre-Scratch and Post-Scratch Kid Universes.

Pre-Scratch Troll Universe (what this fantheory applies to): A1
Post-Scratch Troll Universe (Hivebent): A2
Pre-Scratch Kid Universe (Homestuck with John): B1
Post-Scratch Kid Universe (Homestuck with Jane): B2 

In B1, which is where Homestuck starts, John’s title is ectoBiologist, but we know that he used to be ghostyTrickster.

Going off of this, we are introduced to the kids in this order: GT, TT, TG, GG.

In B2, with Jane, we are introduced to the teens in this order: GG, GT, TG, TT. (This assumes the order of introduction will follow the left-to-right order of the WILD CHARACTER SELECT SCREEN).

If we liken the kids’ handles to number (GT is 1, TT is 2), then the order goes:

B1: 1 2 3 4
B2: 4 1 3 2

TG, the third one, is the only one that doesn’t shift. The others all shift to the right, and the last one goes all the way to the first slot. TT (2) shifts past TG (3) and ends up being last.

Going off of the above, the order of the Trolls’ introductions is as follows:

Karkat, Gamzee, Terezi, Sollux, Tavros, Aradia, Nepeta, Vriska, Equius, Kanaya, Eridan, Feferi.

CG, TC, GC, TA, AT, AA, AC, AG, CT, GA, CA, CC

Once again, if we assign these numbers, with CG getting 1 and so on:

A2: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12

Now, there are 3 times as many trolls as there are kids. So we can split the trolls into four groups of three

CG/TC/GC, TA/AT/AA, AC/AG/CT, GA/CA/CC

Now, remember how the handles changed for the order of heroes in the Kids Universe. They all shifted to the right, save for TG. That was going from B1 to B2. But we’re not going from A1 to A2. We’re going from A2 to A1. So instead of them shifting to the right; all the initials shift to the left.

But which one doesn’t shift?

Well, it would definitely be one of the ones in the third group (AC/AG/CT). My bet would be AC, since it’s the genetic opposite of TG (Adenine matches to Thymine; Cytosine matches to Guanine).

So, here are the patterns:

A2: CG TC GC TA AT AA AC AG CT GA CA CC
A1: TC GC TA AT AA AG AC CT GA CA CC CG

Now keep in mind that while Jake and John look similar, Jane and John are the ones who are switched; the switching of the guardian/ancestor with the kid/descendant doesn’t change the order they’re introduced in.

So, going off of that, here are the initials for each of the A1-Universe ancestors (I’m using their A2-Universe names because that’s all that we know them by):

Signless: TC

Highblood: GC

Redglare: TA

Ψiioniic: AT

Summoner: AA

Handmaid: AG

Disciple: AC

Mindfang: CT

Darkleer: GA

Dolorosa: CA

Dualscar: CC

Condesce: CG

What would their actual handles be? Nobody can say for a certainty, but given their A2 Lore, I’m sure the fandom can come up with clever and interesting ones.

As far as I know from drawing parallels and speculating, the above list is what the A1-Universe Ancestors’ handles would contain.

Okay think I got this passive/active Homestuck class thing figured out:

UU mentions that there are classes that are passive(+) and active(-), and that all classes come in passive/active pairs.

Passive classes help everyone, active classes help themselves, yadda yadda bing bong boom.

Her referring to the thief and rogue classes as “one who steals” kind of gives a clue as to the nature of the match-ups: they are similar in generalized playstyle.

Passive/Active Class Distribution and Parallels:

+maid / -page : “one who serves”

+mage / -witch : “one who uses magic”

+sylph / -knight : “one who protects”

+rogue / -thief : “one who steals”

+seer / -bard : “one who prophecizes”

+prince / -heir : “one who rules”
