We can actually hear Swift’s critics rolling their eyes. But here’s one of the best things about the star , Even when she’s mocked for writing thinly veiled songs about her love life or criticized for going completely pop and not sticking to her country roots, Swift still follows her own path.
This is a woman who will tell her record label, when instructed not to venture too far off in a new direction, sorry, “but this is how it’s going to be.” She knows what she wants. She knows who she is. And if you don’t like it, she’ll just shake off the criticism and write a song about doing so that you secretly won’t be able to stop singing.
That’s pretty gutsy in an industry that’s running scared. Here are five other reasons why you can’t help but like Taylor Swift, even if you’re not a fan:
1. The catch factor
Have you ever caught yourself singing a catchy ditty and not even remembering how you know the lyrics? It was probably a Taylor Swift track.
Her music has a way of permeating every facet of popular culture, to the point that you don’t have to buy her albums to recognize the twang from “You Belong with Me” or sing the hook from “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
2. Ten Grammys later, still more likely to be found baking with cats
Taylor Swift is one of the most recognizable pop stars on the planet, and we can only imagine the access that kind of fame can yield. We would not be at all surprised if the singer could jet from Milan to Tokyo in the blink of an eye in a private jet with seats lined in mink.
But instead of the usual shenanigans you hear about from the very young, privileged and wealthy, Swift is more likely to be found baking cookies or playing with a new kitten.
In other words, probably the exact same things she’d be doing if she weren’t famous, which is a rare thing to witness.
3. She obsesses over the same TV shows
Speaking of those cats, one of them is named Olivia Benson, as in one of the starring detectives on “Law & Order: SVU.” Another one of the star’s feline friends is named after Meredith Grey on Shonda Rhimes’ “Grey’s Anatomy.”
Many celebrities claim to be fans of their famous peers work, but Swift appears to be just as obsessed with your favorite TV shows as you are, almost as if she forgot that she, too, is on the A-list.
4. She’s BFFs with everyone, including her fans
It’s not hard to rattle off Taylor Swift’s famous friends, because she has a growing collection that includes everyone from Selena Gomez and Lorde to actresses Jaime King and Lena Dunham.
But what makes Swift win over in the skeptics is her connection with her fans. She knows at least one of her supporters so well that she could make a surprise appearance at the fan’s bachelorette party with complete ease, posing for pictures and handing over a gift that she knew her fan would like. We’ll say that again: She knows her fans well enough that she can buy them personalized presents. Who does that?
5. Her parties are as dorky as yours
While some stars are always sharing photos of their exclusive vacations in exotic faraway locales, Swift’s get-togethers look like they could’ve been photographed in your neighbor’s backyard. Fourth of July? She’s baking a holiday-themed cake and hitting the Slip N’ Slide. Christmas season? She’s even constructed homemade holiday cards . And of course, as endlessly chronicled on Social media , you know Swift will always dance like no one’s watching.

So to honor the Batdad’s b-day, here are some headcanons about how his birthday goes:
- The second he woke up he was met with every single one of his kids and honorary kids in his bed screaming “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!” to him at the top of their lungs.
- Cass, Steph, Dick, Bans, Harper, and Duke all have him huge hugs, practically pinning him to the bed with the strength of their snuggles. Jason just punched him in the face, claiming it was a birthday punch, but Bruce could see the small smile on his face. Tim didn’t go in for a hug right away and was kind of awkward, but he did hand Bruce the homemade card they all helped to make, and Bruce gave him a small kiss on the head. Damian was stiff as usual, but he did hug Bruce for .2 seconds only when he was positive nobody was looking.
- So. Many. Old jokes. The whole day his kids were making comments and jokes about how old he is and that any normal guy his age would be carrying a cane and wearing glasses, not beating up criminals every night.
- Jason bought him a jug of prune juice and a crowbar for his gift.
- The Waynes threw a huge party at the manor, where the batkids got into all sorts of trouble like “accidentally” tripping Damian and making him fall face first into the birthday cake.
- Somehow all the rogues found out about Batman’s birthday, (Bruce suspects Selina told them, but he has no proof), and so when he went on patrol, he was met by all of his villains not committing crimes like he’d assumed, but instead hosting a birthday party for him??
- Harley even baked him a cake shaped like the batsignal, and it only had a tiny bomb in it.
- It was awkward to attend a party with a bunch of supervillains, but at least the presents were good. Killer Croc knitted him a sweater, and Two Face gave him a Batman action figure. He was touched, to say the least.
- The entire batcave was decorated with the brightest and most colorful decorations they could find. Streamers hung from the giant dinosaur, Barbara changed the screen on the computer to only show pictures of Bruce photoshopped with a party hat, and Tim installed motion sensor confetti cannons so that one couldn’t walk five feet without being shot with confetti.
- Nobody really knew how old Bruce is. Tim thought it was 45, but Jason insisted it was at least 50. Damian just insists he’s old and says to leave it at that. So when they put candles on the devil’s food cake Alfred baked, they just bought a hundred candles and crammed them all on, deciding that as of now Bruce is 100. He was not amused.
- Tim made sure to inform him that he shares a birthday with Tumblr and that he should feel very honored.
The night before Valentine’s Day, the last carton of milk in the apartment mysteriously disappeared from the fridge. John wasn’t happy about waking up early to get to the store, but he did so anyway, and the minute the door closed behind him, Sherlock leaped out of his bed and went to wake Rosie.
They’d prepared plenty yesterday. Rosie had cut hearts out of pink construction paper, and now ran around the apartment, taping them to the walls. And Sherlock had done his job too. On each of two hundred origami cranes that he’d folded himself, he’d written “I love you,” and he placed them on every surface he could find. Mrs. Hudson had prepared a delicious batch of sugar cookies, which rested on the table, and she peeked in from the kitchen, ready to take photos.
When they heard John open the door, Sherlock and Rosie quickly hid behind the couch, Rosie barely able to suppress her giggles.
“Hello?” John called, stepping into the apartment, putting down his grocery bag, and looking around. Noticing the décor, he remembered which day it was. He’d scheduled a dinner for him, Rosie, Sherlock, Mrs. Hudson, Molly, and Lestrade later that night, and bought a special present for both Sherlock and Rosie, but he hadn’t expected anything like this. Smiling, he continued into the living room.
This was Rosie’s cue to dance out from behind the couch, while Mrs. Hudson pressed ‘play’ on the cassette player that Sherlock insisted on having for “reasons,” and “science.” “Father and Daughter” by Paul Simon began to play, and Rosie skipped around the living room while John watched, a huge grin on her little face as she tried different ballet poses that Sherlock had taught her.
John’s smile grew as he watched his daughter dance, and he wiped a tear from his eye. As the song ended, she pranced up to John, proudly delivering him a homemade card that read, “I Love You, Daddy” in pink sparkly letters.
John enveloped her in a huge hug, holding her tight and thanking her for the card, but he almost gasped when Sherlock rose from behind the couch, wearing his signature purple shirt and holding a bouquet of roses.
Before John could speak, Sherlock gestured to Rosie, who skipped over and took the flowers from him and brought them back to her father, who accepted them with teary eyes.
And then “Wonderful Tonight” by Eric Clapton came on, but it wasn’t Eric singing– it was Sherlock’s voice, surprisingly soft and smooth, and all the she’s had been changed to he’s, and John gazed in awe as Sherlock began to dance.
He thought he’d never see anything more beautiful than Sherlock himself, but Sherlock dancing took it to a whole new level. He twirled and leaped delicately, his movements flowing together with the music, and John wondered how he even deserved this amazing a husband, this wonderfully romantic man who he couldn’t ever imagine being without.
The last verse approached, and Sherlock held out his hand to John, gesturing for him to come dance as well. Tears were streaming down John’s cheeks, and he’d never been so happy in his entire life as he took Sherlock by the hands and they danced, looking into each other’s eyes and smiling softly, an incredible moment that neither of them would ever forget.
My darling, you were wonderful tonight.
As the song ended, Sherlock leaned in to kiss John, and Rosie, very used to their displays of affection, clapped and jumped up and down gleefully. John reluctantly pulled away after a few seconds, and in a shaky voice, exclaimed, “I love you, Sherlock. Oh, God, I love you!”
“I love you too, John,” Sherlock whispered back, holding John close and pulling Rosie in so that the three of them could hug.
Mrs. Hudson’s camera flashed as the fathers and daughter embraced, laughing and smiling and full of love, and the tender scene lasted a long time.
And later on, when John unfolded every single one of Sherlock’s paper cranes to reveal two hundred “I love you’s,” his shoulders shook and he began to cry out of pure joy, and Sherlock wrapped his arms around his John and held him there, full of nothing but love that he knew would last forever.
EXTREME FLUFF HEADCANONS PLEASE OR KUROO, Bokuto and Kageyama? ;O
YOU GOT IT
If you have a tournament or a big even a big event, Kuroo will be there cheering for you! I imagine him having those headbands (like what Saeko wears) while he cheers for you; he doesn’t cheer loud but you can tell he’s cheering.
When it’s snowing or cold and the two of you are on a date, he always waits for you in the cold with while he’s blowing on his hands and he’s looking cute and all.
That being said, he likes to wrap his warm scarf around you and hold your hand so the two of you can stay warm; maybe share a cup of hot cocoa.
When Kuroo hugs you, he moves side to side a bit and squeezes you in his arms; his smile is either really big or it’s a small smile that is full of his love for you.
You will catch him just looking at you with a love struck smile on his face and it’s the cutest thing ever. He stares at you and is so in love with you that it makes him happy.
Loves to sing random songs with you at home. If the two of you are just chilling on the bed he would burst out singing and come lay by you and hold you close while he sings songs.
Hates being away from you so he loves cuddling. If he can just hold you and hug you forever, he could.
Tells you he loves you multiple times a day, and he means it with all of his heart when he tells you. Right before you leave the house or when you go to do a simple task, his sweet booming voice will call out after you, “I love you!”
Bokuto sleeps with a shirt off and it tends to get chilly in the morning, and somehow the covers always end up at the bottom of the bed so Bokuto reaches over for you and holds you close to his chest so you can warm him up for him. bless
Whenever he sees something that reminds him of you, he buys it and gives it to you as a gift. He loves buying you gifts, but they’re usually just small gifts like a single flower or a candy bar. His favorite gift he has given to you so far would be a homemade card with a picture of you and him that he drew on the inside.
Out of the two above, Kageyama is definitely the shyest. That being said, he shows you his love by sharing his things with you. Even to the most subtle things like his milk!
When he gets into a relationship he takes it very seriously, so he’s definitely in love with you. You will always catch him sneaking glances at you and when you catch him, he tries to make excuses, “I was looking at something behind you that’s all!”
Always walks you home from school because that’s what a good boyfriend does, or so he’s been told. Sometimes when he’s walking to school alone, he’ll stop by the beautiful blooming fields and pick a few flowers for you, “I saw these on the way and thought you’d like them,”
When the two of you are cuddling on the couch together, he always wraps a blanket around the both of you and when you’re all snug and warm, he plays with your hands underneath the blankets.
Loves it when you give him kisses, doesn’t matter where, but he’s a sucker for your kisses. The best reward you can get from Kageyama is a kiss because that’s when you know he truly loves you. He built up all the courage to give you a kiss? He’s definitely thinking about how much you mean to him!

OVERALL, JUST STEAMY FLUFF.
this one is sort of a combination of a few different things
fan-fiction-galore and I were talking about when I told her this
idea. Sami Zayn and reader were friends as children and reader boldly
kissed him at age 10. Sadly, the readers family moved away, leaving
the two to lose all touch with each other… Until the wedding of her
older brother/one of his best friends brings them back together.
Problem? Reader is with a date… Until, ‘cupid’, our little
winged naked baby friend intervenes in the form of an argument.
Reader storms out, it’s pouring rain outside and with a strapless
dress, she’s kind of freezing a little bit when Sami finds her…
And things happen from there, of course.
MUCH FLUFF. TEETH ROTTING FLUFF HERE GUISE. AND SOME STEAM AT THE
ALRIIIIIGHT.. GOTTA THANK @fan-fiction-galore because like 99.9
percent of this was stuff she mentioned in a conversation we were

And there’s @misswweuniverse, who is another boo of mine that I
luffle.. aaaaand @writergrrrl29 who is another boo of mine that I
luffle and enjoy talking to about things, you are all amazing and
have been v. great help and you are my inspirations. Also,
@mimic-the-phoenix , my boo, I luffles you and I looooove our
conversations. You make me fall more in love with Sami with the way
you write him tbh!! As if I needed an actual reason, huh?
was worried when I first inherited Claudette that she would be lonely
and depressed. I knew parrots were supposed to be social creatures, but I
was barely equipped to handle one, much less get her a companion. Aunt
June, who had “generously” given the bird to me after discovering how
loud and energetic she could be, assured me that Claudette was an
independent sort and would be fine on her own.
Claudette and I had a rocky start. I was timid around her large beak
and sharp claws and she was slow to trust yet another new person. She’d
apparently had a number of homes in her twenty-five years, all of whom
had given her up much the same as Aunt June had. That was mostly why I
kept her; I felt sorry for her and wanted her to finally have a home,
even if it meant a steep learning curve.
~What should you get for your hero this Valentine’s Day?
He hates Valentine’s Day.
But he’s a fan of the little things.
Give him a handmade card, homemade lunch shaped like a heart.
Tell him you love him. Sometimes it’s hard for him to remember that people still do.
Loves white chocolate
Homemade cookies are also an easy way to his heart especially if they’re heart shaped. He’s a sucker for homemade anything.
A nice bottle of sake is good (helps drown out his sorrows)
Or if you’re trying to win his heart, make him chocolate he’ll be touched by it.
He’s more of a nature person so flowers work well especially if they’re not cut. He hates to watch them die.
Sentimental things work too. Origami hearts that he can unfold and inside is something you love about him. give him a box full of reasons you love him.
Give him roses, he won’t be expecting it
Everyone always gives him candy or cards. Be the person that gives him flowers and he won’t know what to say.
This is good. Keep him on his toes. He’ll want you more.
Hanzo wrapped up in a bow works too.
Give him heart balloons.
He’ll attach them to his arms and ride around all day with them.
He’s so happy.
She likes chocolate covered strawberries.
Organize a picnic. Just sit and talk. Do something peaceful. It’ll help her feel mellow and calm. She’ll appreciate it.
Big man means big box of chocolates.
He loves almonds in his chocolate.
Just spend time with him. Cuddle on a couch. Kiss him. He loves being showered with as much affection as he gives.
Heart shaped cake. She likes cake.
She also loves sentimental things like a collage of pictures of the two of you.
Doesn’t particularly like chocolate but loves roses.
Also a sucker for a well thought out card that has all your feelings in it.
Emily has this covered but if you must, don’t give her chocolate she’s hyper enough.
Give her a homemade valentine with a pun on it.
Peanut butter chocolates are he way to his heart.
Homemade treats also show him how much you care. Make Banana muffins!!
Help him out while he’s tinkering. Be there for him to bounce ideas off of even if you have no idea what he’s talking about. He likes the company.
Likes dark chocolate.
Also chocolate covered strawberries.
Just spending time with her is enough. She cares about you. Sit and ask her to tell you a story about the past. She loves to reminisce about the way things were before everything.
Get him a valentine that can sing. He’ll play it until the battery dies.
Big fan of dark chocolate and marzipan.
A box of chocolates works best and maybe a coffee.
Take her somewhere she’s never been and the two of you can go exploring. She loves learning new information.
She loves coffee favored chocolate.
Just go to the nearest store and get as much discount candy as you can. She’ll love you even more when she sees the giant bags of sugar you’re bringing her.
Buy her a new video game and play with her.
If you can make a valentine explode/ shot flames/ erupt in fireworks, do it.
If not, you’ll have to get creative. He’s not the biggest fan of flowers or cards.
Go rob a bank with him.
Candy works but also normal food.
Give the man home cooked meals and kisses.
Tell him you love him. It’s more than enough for him. He’s content.
Give her a pop up Valentine’s Day card. It’ll make her smile.
Really just about any gift will make her smile on Valentine’s Day.
She’s just happy someone’s thinking of her.
Leave him alone.
His wife is his valentine.
He won’t say no to free chocolate though. (Give him some extra to give to his kids)
A sucker for teddy bears. The bigger the better.
Spend time with her while she’s doing other things.
Hold her feet while she does sit ups and kiss her when she comes up.
Offer encouragement. You love her.
Loves chocolate with praline in it.
Prefers to be alone on the holiday. Give the chocolate and go. She’ll be grateful.
Give him a singing valentine.
He’ll mimic the song if it’s simple enough.
Lay out some birdfees for Ganymede in the shape of a heart. They’ll both love it. Be kind to the omnic.
