Dating Peter Parker Would Involve

Each one I do of these is longer than the last…

  • Peter would have asked you out kind of awkwardly and he would have expected this so he would have written everything down and as he would be explaining how he knows it’s cheesy and dorky you wouldn’t be able to stop smiling so you’d ask him out yourself and he would just have the biggest grin and kiss you.
  • Peter dropping down in front of you or swinging in out of nowhere to give you a kiss
  • Rooftop dates and study dates and ‘lets do random crap’ dates
  • Getting 1am calls from Peter to ask about homework and school and- basically he just calls to talk to you
  • Peter walking you to your locker and home from school everyday
  • Sitting together in every class and always standing up for each other and also laughing and helping each other with the work set
  • Peter drawing you little doodles in the classes you don’t have together because he can’t take his mind off you
  • Watching Star Wars together and Peter not shutting up about how he applied Empire Strikes Back knowledge in real life which makes you laugh and kiss him on the cheek because he’s adorable when he blabs
  • Spontaneous trips to the rooftop of the buildings when one of you can’t sleep so Peter shows up at your window and the two of you sit on the roof together
  • Kind of being complete dorks together but not minding at all
  • Wearing his clothes because his sweaters are warm and comfy and mmm
  • Shutting each other up by kissing each other since you both have a tendency to babble (which Peter would happen to find adorable by the way)
  • “Have people really not worked out you’re spiderman?”
    “Shhh! My Aunt might hear!”
    “You haven’t told her?”
He’d step forward, leaning closer so you keep your voice down. You’d be smirking and teasing him now.
“You’re the only one I’ve told.”
And then you’re kissing and his hands are in your hair and on your waist and it’s just this hot, adorable mess of bodies.
  • Constant hand holding
  • When you’re upset Peter just pulls you into a hug and kisses your forehead telling you he loves you so much
  • Peter skyping you after the airport battle and being completely exhausted but when you ask him how it was he just goes “Wow it was amazing! Captain America and- Giant man and star wars and-” And it would be difficult for anyone else to make sense of it all but you’d be able to understand
  • Peter would give you piggy back rides and you’d just be laughing and burying your face in his neck and he’d spin around and pretend to lose his balance and swing you off and kiss you
  • “I’m coming with you.”
    “No, you’re not.”
    “It could be dangerous.”
    “Yes? Exactly?”
“Why is it okay for you to put yourself in danger but not for me?”
“Because you’re my- Because I lo- Because I’m the one with superpowers here!”
    “Well too bad I’m coming.”
    “Okay come if you can.”
“Peter… Did you just web my hand to the doorhandle?”
    “No.. Maybe… Yes?”
  • Aunt May would often invite you around for dinner, and lunch, and breakfast - basically she ships you and Peter a lot.

Being "The Only" in High School

Growing up, I went to predominantly white schools. I was often the only one at my school who looked liked me. I went to parochial school for kindergarten through 8th grade during which I was the only black girl in my class until 6th grade. And when I entered high school, I was one of maybe 6 black girls total in my class (3 of whom were half white so 1 of 3 completely black girls). High school was a rough time because this was when things like homecomings, dating and proms became relevant.

This is when it began. This is when I realized I would forever feel in competition with non-black women. I didn’t see it coming, I thought high school was going to be an opportunity to meet people who didn’t just see my skin color. I thought high school was going to be a chance to reinvent myself and expand my mind and my circle of friends. Meet boys. Fall in love. Live out my very own Taylor Swift circa 2009 music video. BOY WAS I WRONG.

Not only was I completely ostracized from the other girls at my all girls school (lolz) but boys (at the all boys school school across the street) didn’t take a second look at me. In fact, I had a better love life in middle school (probably strictly for the fact that it was a smaller pool of girls to choose from) BUT REGARDLESS, high school was a lost cause. I didn’t get asked to freshman or sophomore homecoming, and I got asked to my junior prom by my gay best friend (shouts out to Big E tho). I was in a proverbial drought when it came to boys. My white friends? Not so much.

I stood on the sidelines and watched as they got asked to dances, asked out on dates. I listened and gave my poorly grounded advice when they told me their boy problems. All the while waiting for my turn. (Which did eventually come by the way, just not until after high school was over).

The question I’m posing is, are we as black women in a sort of competition with women of other races? In short, I’d say yes and no. Yes on our side, no on everyone else’s. Let me explain.

Black women have been painted in a negative light for centuries. We’re somehow simultaneously overly sexualized and seen as a way for men to live out their fantasies but yet, at the same time viewed as “too strong” and borderline masculine. We’re too loud, too ratchet, not gentle enough, not meek enough. THE LIST LITERALLY GOES ON AND ON. If we twerk, we’re ghetto and a stereotype, but if a white girl does it, it’s a turn on and impressive that she can keep the beat. How this works, I’m not entirely sure. I try to just chuckle at the different expectations but after a while it does get rather irritating.

We see it as a competition (potentially), because we notice that we’re not being noticed. And not even just not being noticed by white men. Not noticed by any men, ever. Not even black men. It sounds dramatic but it really does start to feel like that after a while. So to us, it feels like we have to do so much more to compete with women of other races. But then, it’s not a competition because we’re not really ever in the running. (Such was my experience in high school. If you had a different experience then I’m literally so happy for you real talk).

Here’s what I have to say to you if you’re currently going through what I went through in high school. You are so beautiful and so unique in so many ways that little boys don’t really know what to do about it. At this stage, they want what’s familiar, what’s safe, what isn’t going to attract attention. If I had known this in high school, I would’ve just sashè’d through the halls like Rihanna down the Victoria’s Secret fashion show runway. But I didn’t see how beautiful and unique I was at the time.

Let me just tell you, NOTHING is wrong with you. Yes you are strong, but you are also gentle. You are sweet, intelligent, kind and lovely. Your time is coming.

@nervousmemzie said: “Jughead promposal to homecoming?”

A/N: If Jughead doesn’t do cute things in a dorky way then I don’t know what to expect. Also sorry if this is short, I’m writing this at like 3am.

“Do I look okay Betty? Is it too much?” Jughead asks the blonde.

“Juggie, I think you look very handsome.” Betty confirms, trying to calm Jughead’s nerves.

“What if they say no? Or already have a date?”

“I know for a fact they do not have a date and would be excited to have you ask them.” Betty smiles at him.

The MBTI Chronicles: INFJ on Current Dating Culture

INFP: Do you have a date for Homecoming, INFJ?

INFP: You should ask someone out then! It’s not hard. You’re a handsome dude.

INFJ: (inwardly): First of all, I don’t consider asking someone I know only a little bit out on a date to be a good idea, and Homecoming is a big deal and I wouldn’t want to ruin it by going with a stranger… Plus, I have a feeling that my date would spend more time talking with her friends than with me, and that would be plain awkward; not to mention hurtful to an extent. Besides, I don’t really like big crowds anyway—I prefer one-on-one at the park or at home just talking about anything and everything. (to INFP): I’ll think about it.
