LOTRO OCs:

Thandaer - ‘firm/true’ (thand) + 'bridegroom’ (daer)

He chose this name for himself upon marrying his wife, whom he cherishes deeply. A warden of Mirkwood, he is of a quiet and stoic personality, with a strong sense of duty and honor. His life is committed to protecting his home and caring for his family.

Oreldis - 'morning star’ (’aur+êl’) + 'bride’ (dîs)

This was the name she chose for herself upon marrying Thandaer, who she considers her “morning star.” She is also reserved and in control of her emotions, and yet the two of them recognized the same strength within each other. She is devoted to their two children, Garavon and Gwenthel, and fighting for Mirkwood as a warden alongside her husband.

Windvexer’s Home Protection - Delineate Your Boundaries

Boundaries are incredibly powerful. I think more powerful than most people realize, especially young people. Decisions are an intense form of magic, and once you decide what your boundaries are, they resonate throughout the worlds.

I believe that magically, people cast all kinds of fences and walls without bothering to actually claim an area as their own.

Ingredients:

  • None (if you wish, some candles or incense to get in to a ‘witchy’ headspace for a final dedication)

Preparation:

Spend some time meditating on what your physical boundaries are. Is it okay for strangers to come up to your house? Is it okay for people to come in to your bedroom? Also consider the negative repercussions such a decision could have. If you keep strangers off your property, will you be able to receive pizza or package deliveries? If you keep people out of your room, will friends, pets, or benign spirits be able to come in?

Here is a general sort of protection I suggest:

  • Nothing which intends to hurt or prey on myself or my household* may pass in to this property.
  • Nobody except my household may enter this home unless they are invited.
  • Nobody except myself and invited guests may enter this room.

*’Household’ implies not only people, but also pets, house spirits, and other people that are kin to you and live with you.

Create boundaries in layers, so you will have multiple boundaries becoming more and more protective as they move inwards.

I recently repainted my room, and I decided to get chalkboard paint which has been the single best decision I have made in my life. I love it, it’s so much fun to draw on walls, omg. AND IT IS AMAZING FOR WITCHCRAFTING. Today, I put sigils on my door.

Ignore my poorly draw fairy, lol. Drawing in chalk is not easy. Basically, I drew my sigls on paper first. Then I combined salt, sage, basil, and rose petals and ground them together in a cup. I put a piece of chalk in the mixture, light a candle with my intent for charging, and let it sit for a few hours. Then I took an incense and trapped some smoke in the glass with the chalk and the mixture. Once that was all set, I drew the sigils ~ I’m going to leave them draw on for the night and then erase them in the morning so that the energy is imprinted on the door.

These are the original sigil drawings with their meanings:

Do you know of any good clensing spells? My friend has a poltergeist in his house.

Cleansing/home protection spell

You will need:

  • large bowl of salt;
  • fire proof bowl;
  • 1 tablespoon powdered garlic;
  • 1 tablespoon peppermint;
  • 1 tablespoon ground clove;
  • 1 tablespoon dried/powdered thistle;
  • Handful or two of sweetgrass, sage or dried oak leaves.

Take a large bowl of salt and sprinkle a pinch or two over the exterior doorways and windowsills of your home. Make certain you get each and every one.

Choose the room that has the strongest negative feel to it. Light a white candle.

In a large fire proof bowl combine the following ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon powdered garlic;
  • 1 tablespoon peppermint;
  • 1 tablespoon ground clove;
  • 1 tablespoon dried/powdered thistle;
  • Handful or two of sweetgrass, sage or dried oak leaves.

Carefully light the mixture so that it smolders, giving off a aromatic smoke. Leaving the candle lit, carry the bowl in to each room and repeat the following sentence:

In the name of the Eternal Lady and Lord
I consecrate and clear this space.
Let nothing but joy linger here.

When you have done each room, return to the first, set the bowl beside the candle and wait for the remaining mixture to burn out. Take the ash outside and sprinkle it over the grass/flowerbed/etc.

Iron Spike Protection

The perks of dating a black smith is the ridiculous amounts of iron and fun metal things lying around all the time. Such as old railroad spikes. D was kind enough to relinquish his learning metal and gift me with four rusty, iron spikes. Perfect for home protection!

My family is my biggest priority always. This spell was done to keep us protected and safe while also helping us anchor to our new home and to each other. It’s important to me that we always be safe and always be able to find each other.

So here it goes. I cleansed my four spikes with the four elements. Crossed them (protection) and circled them in salt (more protection and purity), the four marks are a compass so that we can always find our way home, and a candle to light our way if we are lost. The we charged it with out intent.

D and I went to the four corners of our property and drove the stakes into the ground until the head was flush with the dirt. We took turns hammering them down so that both of our energies went into our home.

As we did it, we visualized a line of energy connecting each point with the final blow until our entire property was within the ‘walls’. We went inside, or the center of our property, and meditated on it, visualized the line of energy raising up to create a tall barrier and sinking down past our foundation.

We decided to do it during the waxing moon so that the spikes build more and more energy, fully actualizing the protective, anchoring effects with the full moon.

home protection sigil. i charge these by burning them and scattering the ashes in the four corners of my property/wherever i want to create a barrier, but you can charge them in a myriad of ways (burying them, etching them onto your door with water/moon water, etc). the trick w sigils is that they are supposed to be “out of sight, out of mind”, so charge it however you want but make sure you do it in a way that makes the sigil invisible (and therefore locked neatly away in ur subconscious)

NBC: Survive Home Invasion By Cooperating With Invaders, 'Treat Them Like Royalty'

On September 8 NBC’s Today show aired a segment on how to survive a home invasion. That advice included cooperating with the invaders – “treat them like royalty” – and telling them the location of everything they want in the house.

Spoiler: The advice did not include acquiring a gun for the defense of one’s life, the lives of one’s family, and one’s property.

During the segment, correspondent Jeff Rossen spoke with former NYPD detective and hostage negotiator William Zeins. Together, the two discussed scenarios and what a homeowner should do if an invader targets his or her home.

Zeins said you should “absolutely” tell the invaders where “the money” and “the jewelry” are if they corner or capture you. He said you should “treat them like royalty… [Don’t] lie to them.”

He said you might avoid capture by keeping a can of “wasp spray” by your bed with which to spray the invaders in the face. But he did not explain how “wasp spray” beats an intruder armed with a shotgun or 9 mm handgun.

Zeins did say you might distract or frighten away the invader with horns and flashing lights by pressing the panic button on your car alarm.

My advise ^^^^
