holiday notes

Drarry Secret Santa
  • It’s decided that the Eighth Years should do a Secret Santa gift exchange to continue the newfound effort towards House Unity that was started at the beginning of the new term.
  • So of course, because Harry can’t catch a break, he managed to draw Draco Malfoy as his person.
  • He’s stressed AF and wracking his brain to think of something that Malfoy would even want, something he won’t spit on.
  • Harry gets annoyed when Malfoy plays it off like it’s going to be super easy to get his person a gift, which makes Harry even more Determined™
  • Except, secretly Draco is also stressed AF because holy shit everything he thinks of is stupid, what can he possibly get the Boy Who Lived??? Fuck, fuck!
  • Draco trails through Hogsmeade looking at Quidditch supplies, expensive leather-bound journals, and fine bottles of goblin wine before deciding that all of those gifts wouldn’t matter to Potter — with the exception of Quidditch, obviously.
  • But he’s certain that gifting Potter something Quidditch-related won’t have enough of an impact.
  • He wanted to get a gift that meant something, something to thank Potter for saving his life.
  • Harry nearly gave up as the day to exchange their presents drew nearer, but then he found Malfoy’s wand in the bottom of his trunk.
  • He knew it was the perfect gift.
  • After a few false starts, Draco finally figured out something clever to gift to Potter, something that no other Secret Santa would have thought of.
  • He was proud of himself for figuring out the puzzle, and he’s actually eager to see Potter’s face when he opened Draco’s gift.
  • When the time finally came to exchange gifts in a circle around the Eighth Year common room, they each went last to give their gifts.
  • When it’s clear that they had presents for each other, they both nod to leave the room.
  • Malfoy insisted that Harry open his first.
  • Harry fully expected something over the top, expensive, and uselessly ridiculous.
  • But his breath caught when he opened the leather-bound text, engraved with a family crest on the cover with the name Potter emblazoned on a scroll in the center.
  • As he flipped through the pages Malfoy explained that he tracked down a complete family history of the Potters for Harry.
  • And holy shit, Malfoy’s present made Harry’s heart pound in his chest while his throat went all tight and dry???
  • Harry got choked up over his gift as the reality of it sank in. He carefully ran his fingers over the engraving while Malfoy shifted his weight from foot to foot nervously, blurting out facts about the gift that Harry only paid half of his attention to.
  • Harry wiped at his eyes roughly, a little embarrassed, but Malfoy gave him such an important gift.
  • He took a breath and held out his own gift for Malfoy.
  • “I thought it was about time you had this back. It served me well, so, er, thanks.”
  • Draco didn’t even speak for a full minute, his eyes were just locked on his wand in Harry’s outstretched hand.
  • Harry could see his hand shaking at his side.
  • When Harry finally handed Draco the wand, he hugged Harry really tightly and whispered thank you.
  • Draco kissed Harry’s cheek as he pulled away, startling Harry.
  • His lips felt so soft and warm against Harry’s skin.
  • They stared at each other until Harry slowly, carefully pulled Draco back to him, and lightly kissed his cheek in return.
  • They smiled tentatively at each other, each clutching their gifts, as they reached for each other’s hand.
  • Absolutely no one was surprised when they walked back into the common room holding hands.

Spent nearly a WEEK solely on projects and assignments, and it’s THE HOLIDAYS. How can they expect us to work during the holidays? 😐Haiz..
And I have an interview coming up soon for my change in course, next year I will be pursuing the Biomedical science course and no longer in biotech anymore😀😀wish me luck !
I have been wanting to post these pictures for a while, well finally they r here😃And look at those post it notes aren’t they adorable!!!!! I just got them for $3 at a Japanese shop in town.

So that post going around about frustrating stuff in the original Animal Crossing is great but can we just talk about how frustrating Wild World was for a moment?

  • This game introduced a lot of features that are now staples of the series (emotes, hairstyles, etc)… but made them needlessly difficult and complicated to get
  • You couldn’t change your hair at all until you got the final Nook upgrade with Shampoodle built in, which required you to have a friend who also had the game to come and shop at your Nook’s store. Your only other option was to have a friend who already had the final upgrade and just use their Shampoodle. And some of the default hairstyles are… questionable at best…
  • Did I mention that since wifi services are shut down for the original DS, it’s now by extension impossible to change your hair at all if you don’t have Shampoodle already? Hope you had a style you liked when you last played!
  • Shrunk was a random special visitor instead of something you could do daily. Changed your mind about one of your emotes? You had to wait indefinitely for him to show up.
  • There was no way to tell if you watered your dying flowers. So you watered one pixel too far to the left? your hybrid garden is gone now.
  • Seriously you’ll never truly appreciate the beautiful town ordinance in New Leaf until you’ve gone through this for YEARS playing WW
  • Villagers would give zero warning if they were moving out, a random villager would just already be in boxes every 1-2 days and it could take anywhere between five minutes and one hour or more to talk some of them out of it
  • Good luck making money in spring, fall, or winter, at least the original Animal Crossing had the island
  • There was no grass wear, but your town was straight up 75% dirt instead
  • There was a widespread and infamous glitch where you’d sometimes never be able to get snooty villagers’ pics because they’d randomly bring up dialogue that would imply they already gave it to you, which would lock you out of EVER getting it
  • Art was extremely hard to get in this game, and you had NO way of telling if it was fake
  • There was a flea market holiday where every villager in your town would randomly barge into your house and try to buy all your stuff
  • Heck, there was no halloween, toy day, or any holiday of note in this game, just weird oddball ones that didn’t have to do with anything
  • Also logging on in the fall meant your town would be absolute acorn hell thanks to one of these holidays
  • If you’ve played WW for as long as I have you understand why the hammer tour in New Leaf is so goddamned satisfying
  • This game introduced putting patterns on the ground, but had it so guests to your town could accidentally remove them
  • Almost every song on the OST was punctuated by fart-y tuba noises
  • The Boondocks
  • Lyle

27.8.16 85 hours +55 minutes/100 hours

And suddenly, I realise that I have a bunch of work pushed towards the end of my holiday. Note that I’m NOT USUALLY LIKE THISヾ(×× ) ツ. Oh well… I’ll have to push through to 100 hours of Korean to complete the challenge, and also find out ways to continue my studies and energise my determination as the school year begins…

07/04/17 || Last day of lessons before Easter holidays/Spring break and I’m so happy I finally have some home time, even though I’ll still be studying for my May exam. I’ve studied my notes and I’m now reading one of the books for my literature exam. Beside all of this can we talk for a second about Harry’s new song? I love my boys so much I can’t even put it into words and I’m so proud of all of them. This song is amazing and I nearly cried on the train on the way to uni lol.

13.4.17// Easter holidays. I´m back home and I´ve been very busy, enjoying my time with friends and family. I also attended a seminar with my prof. on a contemporary german author, Ulf Stolterfoth. We are meeting and interviewing him in May and I´m annotating his poetry and thinking of some smart questions for the interview. In the meantime, I´m also collecting more material on Elena Ferrante and écriture féminine for my next paper and I’m going to read Virginia Wolf’s “a Room of one own”.

Roommates || Suga || Part 10

Summary: Yoongi didn’t know why he didn’t particularly like Seokjin. When New Years comes around, he suddenly realises why.

Word Count: 2,278

A/N: Did someone ask for another Roommates update?! No? We’ll here is a belated New Year’s part anyway! Truth is I was meant to queue this for while I was on holiday but completely forgot; better late than never am I right?

<< Part 9 ||

Yoongi didn’t know how to feel about your building’s New Years Eve party.

But he attended anyway, since you had looked very hopeful and Yoongi was never one to say ‘no’ to you.

So there he stood, on the rooftop of your apartment building around the other young residents residing on other floors, with a cup filled with some crazy mix of vodka and whatever to hold him over until midnight.

You stood by his side, animatedly talking to someone from three floors below you about their plans for the following year. Yoongi had stopped caring about a little more than 5 minutes into the conversation.

He casted a glance out across the skyline; seeing Seoul from a different elevation impressed him. He missed home.

His gaze then fell onto you, and your smiling face. He smiled.

Yeah, he missed home.

[ 1/100 days of productivity ] 11th January 2017

Hi everyone! I decided to start 100 days of productivity again (since the last one failed and I need to get myself together) and I thought this would be a great way of looking back at my last year of high school before I graduate. I guess it is also like a memory thing?

Here I am studying for chemistry on my cruise on the way to Singapore! How serene is this view! I feel so grateful~ I have a chemistry tutoring exam when I get back to Australia and I want to do my best! d(・ω・)b

Also, HAPPY NEW YEAR CUTIES ☆*: .。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆ May this year bring you good marks, beautiful skin, and lots of cute stationery!
