Jacob’s Well

Jacob’s Well is one of the most significant natural geologic treasures in the Texas Hill Country. It is one of the longest underwater caves in Texas and an artesian spring. Jacob’s Well surges up thousands of gallons of water per minute and acts as headwaters to the Cypress Creek that flows through Wimberley, sustaining Blue Hole and the Blanco River, recharging the Edwards Aquifer, and finally replenishing estuaries in the Gulf of Mexico.

There are certain actors like Philip Seymour Hoffman. When Philip died, what we were grieving about was not only that he died, but that he took a very well known future away from us. We knew he had all these great performances to come. That left a big hole. The same thing is true of River Phoenix. He was, without question, the best of that group of actors that came up at that time. Movie stardom is not just acting talent. It’s not just your ability to move an audience. It’s a combination of a lot of things. And he had it. He died so young that it was a real theft. A real robbery. –Richard Dreyfuss

Vader is secretly snarky as hell. In Darth Vader Annual #1, he’s sent on a diplomatic mission to a planet that’s having trouble deciding whether to side with the Empire or the Rebel Alliance (if you think that’s a clear choice, you must live in October 2016). He’s met on arrival by a local princess, Trios, and almost immediately makes his presence known by telekinetically body-slamming someone who gets a little too forceful with his insistence that Lord Vader hit the dance floor at his welcoming ceremony.

Vader and Trios then wind up caught in a trap to kill them with lava, as if one of those people wasn’t powered by lava. This only makes Vader angrier – something that he makes all too clear when he lightsabers a hole in the wall, knocks out Trios, and floats down a lava river carrying her unconscious body.

When Trios reawakens, she discovers that Vader had her entire family wiped out (they’re the ones who set the trap), and also, surprise! He has a gift for her, the new ruler.

It’s a piece of Alderaan, the planet we all saw get death-lasered in the first Star Wars movie. Yes, he was carrying that with him the entire time. Most villains would have settled for a curt “Alderaan, just sayin’,” but not Vader. He’s the one who flies into the debris field of a destroyed planet, scoops himself up some souvenirs, and dishes them out like the geological equivalent of that horse’s head from The Godfather.

6 Underappreciated Moments Of Pop Cultural Bad-Assery

“My love life is like a piece of Swiss cheese; most of it’s missing, and what’s there stinks.” -Joan Rivers

Okay, so most of you won’t care about this, but I feel like the above quote really describes Dory before she met Marlin. I mean, think about it: she can’t remember anything, she lost her family, and she’s just sort of aimlessly wandering throughout the ocean.

But. THEN.

This quote reminded me of Swiss Cheese, obviously. So, I was curious as to how Swiss cheese was made—and what exactly causes those holes in the cheese.

AND THEN!

I discovered that there is a certain bacterial culture specific to Swiss cheese that causes air pockets to bubble up and form, causing the holes in the cheese.

AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT THAT BACTERIA IS CALLED?!?

P. Shermani

I know. Who knew there was this connection between Dory and Swiss cheese?

The Joan Rivers quote equates the holes in the Swiss cheese as to what is missing in her life. But, P. Shermani is what causes these holes, and P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney is one of the only things Dory can remember.

Maybe what is missing is what you need to remember, to hold on to.

Disney made sure not to make crossovers of some series, but they missed out on Star vs The Forces of Evil and Gravity Falls.

  • Ford landing in Mewni and discovering dimensional scissors (this would have brought him back to his own dimension sooner than usual).
  • Star meeting Mabel and getting a swig of Mabel Juice (mayhem overwhelming!)
  • Marco and Dipper bonding on nerdiness and girly pop songs. Marco teaches Dipper martial arts and Dipper shows him the Pain Hole.
  • Stan going after Ludo with a broom.
  • King River going toe-to-toe with the Manotaurs for dominance.
  • Jackie and Wendy amps the coolness factor up to 11 by hanging out.
  • Oskar and Robbie start jamming and singing angst. Tambry tries to put guyliner on Oskar, but his bangs hide his eyes.
  • Janna and Starfan13 hang out with Candy and Grenda and paint the town red.
  • Glossaryck makes fun of Gideon. (”My lady!” “I’m not a lady!” “Could have fooled me.”)
  • Star busting the chops of Gravity Falls’ unicorns. (”You’re not pure of hea–” “NARWHAL BLAST!!!!”)
