hold your head up high

Raise your daughters to shout, to scream, to hold their heads up high for being themselves before society tries to teach them how to silence themselves, how to wear shame like it is a second skin. Let them taste rebellion from the moment they are born and watch them become flames to start a revolution.

Dean X Reader; Mary tells Dean that the reader cheated on him to stop him finding out about her (Mary) stealing from Ramiel.

Knocking on the door of the bunker, you shift on your heels outside of the place you used to call home. Palms sweaty, heart racing and you’re sure that you can smell the nervousness radiating from you.

The door opens, your now ex-boyfriend looking anything but jolly to see you on his doorstep. “Sorry, I already gave all my change to the homeless guy down the street.”

“I’m just here to get the rest of my stuff, then you’ll be clear of me for good.” Standing up straight, arms crossed against your chest, you hold your head up high, refusing to feel belittled by the man who tossed you away so easily.

He runs his tongue across his bottom lip arrogantly, a sarcastic smile on his face as he pulls open the door, inviting you inside begrudgingly. “Make it quick. Don’t take anything you didn’t pay for.”

“I wouldn’t dream of it.” you spit, striding past him angrily, the ache in your soul becoming even more prominent from being this close to Dean, yet knowing he’s no longer yours.

You pass Sam and Castiel in the kitchen, ignoring their judgemental gazes as you head to Dean’s room, to a bed that used to hold two bodies, not one.

Pushing all the memories within these walls away, you grab your suitcase from under the bed, flipping back the lid and throwing your belongings inside. You wanted to be out of this place as swiftly as you could be, your presence clearly unwanted.

“I’m surprised you had the nerve to show up here.” You look back over your shoulder, Mary leaning smugly against the door frame, your attention moving back to your suitcase. She was the reason you were packing in the first place, the lies she told Dean being the very statements to sever the ribbons of your relationship.

“Yeah? I’m surprised you’ve got the nerve to still be here.” you hiss, a bubble of laughter leaving her lips as she pushes you closer and closer to the edge, anger bubbling inside you. “Aren’t you afraid your web of lies will unravel?”

“Don’t be silly, sweetheart, my webs are perfectly crafted. My son will always believe his dear mommy over some worthless bitch.” Now it’s your turn to laugh, not a slither of humour in your tone. You skim your fingers over the white frame on the beside, the besotted couple grinning at the camera.

If someone had told you then, that just months down the line Mary would be alive and kicking, and she would be the very thing to rip your lover from your arms, you would’ve laughed in their face.

“You know what,” you spin around, your glare harsh enough to wound as you stare at the poisonous bitch in front of you. “I hope your boys never find out who you really are. It’d break them to know their mother almost killed their best friend.”

“Not only are you working for the British, but you disturbed the Prince of Hell, stole from him and then stood in silence as Castiel’s life drained from his eyes.”

Her expression turns colder as you taunt her, her lip quivering in anger, not being able to take the truth you’re dealing out. She makes her way towards you, fists clenching, as you speak aloud all the damage that she’s done. “Shut your mouth.”

You shake your head, standing up against her, refusing to cower under her wrath. “If you were my mom, I’d be wishing you’d have stayed on the ceiling.”

Smack! Your head sharply twists to the side as her hand makes contact with your cheek, smugness running through your veins with the knowledge that your words have hit home. “If you ever tell anybody about me stealing from Ramiel, I’ll cut your heart out.”

“She doesn’t need to tell me anything.” Mary jumps at the sound of the voice, your fingers rubbing your cheek, trying to soothe the sting. Dean enters the room, coming to stand by your side, his mother lost for words.

“Sweetheart, let me explain…” She trails off, the level of vexation in Dean’s eyes enough to shut her up. Her eyes move to you as you watch the scene unfold. “You little bitch-”

Dean pushes her back as she lunges for you, his broad figure standing protectively in front of your own, your heart clenching, hoping that maybe there is something left to salvage.

“I want you out of here, now. Don’t bother coming back.” Dean warns, the ice chill in his voice something you’d been faced with a few minutes before. Mary weighs up her options, before backing out of the room resentfully, a vengeful twinkle in her eyes.

Once she’s gone, you turn back to the task at hand, shoving your final few things into your suitcase, ignoring Dean’s burning stare on your back. You move around in silence, him not being brave enough to break it, and you wanting to hear an apology before anything else.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” You freeze at the question, Dean’s voice timid as it should be. Throwing the shirt in your grasp onto the bed, you turn to face the older brother, not being able to believe his arrogance.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I don’t remember you giving me a chance to say anything when you believed your mom’s bullshit lies over me.” He looks down at the floor as you scold him, your eyes beginning to glaze over with due to frustration.

“I’m sorry-” you cut him off with a scoff, his emerald eyes as glassy as your own as he lifts them upwards to meet you. You want nothing more than to wrap your arms around him, tell him that everything is forgiven and you can go back to how it used to be.

“You weren’t sorry when you kicked me out in the pouring rain and called me a dirty whore.” The dam breaks, you cursing yourself as you turn your back on Dean, your fingers roughly swiping away the fallen tears.

You zip up your suitcase, thankful you’ll be alone in a few minutes and able to sob to your hearts content without prying eyes. “What are you doing? Don’t go.”

“What does it look like I’m doing, Dean?” you sniffle, grasping the handle of the case and holding the heavy object to your side. “I want you to be happy, and if that means me leaving, then so be it.”

You shove past the older Winchester, your chin quivering as you somehow hold in your cries. You let out a shaky breath as a hand grabs your arm, Dean’s warm touch stopping you in your tracks.

“Stay. All I want is for you to stay.” he pleads, his throat thick with emotion. You turn your head, his glassy eyes meeting your own, a desperate look on his face.

After what feels like hours of silence, you make your decision. “Five minutes. Let’s see how well you do.”

Teen Dad (PART ONE)

“Did he really just say ’I still have that Stark Internship after all’?” you thought.

Is he saying that being Spider-Man is more important than you two’s future?

Even May was surprised.

“Is that all you care about Peter?”

“It’s my future (Y/n)!”

“And this baby isn’t?!”

May walked up to Peter, I think she was about to slap him, but you stopped her before she could even pass you.

“I just don’t think I could be a dad yet (Y/n). Wh– what are you going to do?”

“What am I going to do?”

He nods. Wow.

You scoff, scratching the back of your head.

“I can’t believe you right now,” you said quietly, looking away from him.

You turn to him slowly.

“I’m going to raise this baby by myself. If you’re not going to help me.”

And with that, you got up and walked away. Stopping by the door, you turn to Aunt May.

“I’ll keep you updated May.”

Then you turn to Peter.

“See you around Pete.”

And with that, you were gone. No pleading for you to stay, no ‘I’m sorry (Y/n), I didn’t mean to. Please don’t go.’ Not even a text, or a call. There might be some tears. Though you didn’t see them, you saw his eyes shining, covered with a thin layer of unshattered tears.

I guess this was it.

It’s been a few weeks since the day you told Peter. Still no word from him.

You were now a month and a half along. Still not showing.

You got new sonogram pictures. You would stop by Peter’s to give them to Aunt May. Peter was never there. Being Spider-Man seems like his only priority.

Winter Break was starting, you finished your last final of the first semester. This was the first time you got through a final without having a ‘study date’ with Peter the week before.

Walking through the hallways of Midtown, you saw Peter for the first time in weeks. He was taking out books from his locker, while talking to Ned.

You sucked it up, holding your head up high, and walking right past him. He didn’t even flinch, continuously talking to Ned.

“Dude, she just walked past you. What are you doing? I haven’t seen you talking in weeks! What is going on?”

“It’s complicated Ned.”

“Seriously, what’s happening between you too?”

Peter looks at him with a stern face, opening his locker wider for him to see.

“Woah, are you serious?”

Inside his locker door was two ultrasounds pictures. The first one you ever got taken and the second one you just took. You gave two to Aunt May, just incase Peter decided to care.

“Is it (Y/n)’s?”

Peter scoffs, giving Ned a shove, “of course it’s hers! Who else would it be?”

Ned holds his hands up, “alright. Geez.”

Peter looks at him silently before slamming his locker close.

“What am I going to do Ned?”

“What do you want to do?”

“I don’t want to lose her, but then again, I’m not ready to be a dad either!”

He sighs, rubbing his face, “I can’t take care of a baby and the world at the same time.”

“The world? That’s what the Avengers are for.”

“Alright, then the city.”

“Which one do you think is more important? Being Spider-Man or being with (Y/n)?”

Peter looks at his best friend, then the ground, “I don’t know Ned. I love being Spider-Man, but I love (Y/n) too. I have no idea what to do.”

He looks back up to him.

“I’m scared.”

When you got home, you ran straight to your room, ignoring your mom’s question.

“How was your day sweetie?”

She says it everyday, and everyday you replied with a sniffle.

You jumped on your bed, crying for the millionth time. You actually saw him today, and he didn’t even notice you. He really doesn’t care does he?

You lay there, for the rest of the day.

“This is how I’m going to be spending the next two weeks aren’t I?” you asked yourself.

“No, no you’re not.”

You turn around to see your mom standing at the door.

“What do you mean I’m not? I’ve been spending the last few weeks like this and I think I’m starting to get used to it.”

She walks towards you, sitting at the foot of your bed.

“You need to stop crying about Peter.”

“Why mom? Why? I can’t help it that it upsets me that a stupid ‘internship’ is more important than our relationship.”

Your mom looks at your face with concern, wiping away the tears that stained your cheeks.

“I promise, everything will be alright.”

You nod.

Because you trusted her words.

Because your mom never broke a promise.

Peter climbed out the window, wearing his suit, swinging across the city.

He stopped at the roof of one building, just comfortably sitting at the edge, eating a churro.

“Hello? Mr. Stark? I just wanted to know if I have any missions to go to this coming week? I just got out of school. I have winter break for two weeks, so I’m free for whenever you need me!”

“Nope! We got everything covered! Enjoy your winter break Spidey, by–”

“Wait! Mr. Stark! What if you have any emergency missions? Call me?”

“Spidey– listen– we have everything under control alright? Just enjoy your break. Spend time with your girlfriend or something. (Y/n) right?”

Peter suddenly felt his heart drop, looking down at the cars and shops below him.

“Yeah, about that–” Peter scratches his head. He can feel a knot beginning to form in his throat.

“Mr. Stark?”

“What is it Peter?”

“I made a huge mistake and I still don’t know what to do about it.”

Peter had tears streaming down his cheeks. He runs his fingers through his messy curls.

“I– I don’t know what to do..”

Peter waited in front of Starbucks, then, a car pulled up to him.

The windows roll down slowly, “Get in.”

Peter nodded, getting into the black car.

“So what happened Pete? What’s got you so down?”

Peter looks up at Tony, “(Y/n)’s pregnant, and I didn’t react the way she wanted me too when she told me and we haven’t talked for weeks.”

Tony scoffs, “that’s it? Why? You didn’t start crying? Or screaming ‘oh my gosh this is amazing!’? Girls always expect so much more, don’t they?”

Peter shook his head ‘no’, “No, it wasn’t like that Mr. Stark.”

“Then what happened?”

Peter inhaled deeply, “I told her that I wasn’t ready to be a dad because I had to be Spider-Man and I can’t do those two at once.”

Tony looks at him with a shocked expression, shaking his head and turning away from him.

“And why would you say that?” he said, after a moment of looking out the window.

Peter shrugged, “I don’t know? Because it’s true?”

“You care about being Spider-Man more than (Y/n)?”

“I– I don’t know?”

“Then why’d you say it?”

“I don’t know! Maybe because being Spider-Man would be better than being a dad.”

Tony shook his head.

“Peter. Do you like not having a dad?”

“No? Why would you say that?”

“Then why are you doing that to your own child? You’re really leaving (Y/n) to be Spider-Man?”

“Well, if you think about it, I’d be saving a lot of lives.”

“And how does that work?”

“Well… if I stay with (Y/n) and raise the baby, I would be taking care of two lives. Her and the baby right? But if I become Spider-Man, I’d be saving millions of lives.”

“But whose lives are more important to you?”

“My family of course.”

“And who are your family?”

“Aunt May and (Y/n).”

“Well so which are you choosing, being Spider-Man, or being a dad?”

“I told you, I don’t know.”

Tony rolls his eyes, this kid is just not getting it.

“Peter, I’m saying this one more time. You said your family’s lives are more important to you, yes?”

“Yeah.”

“If you were out right now, as Spidey, and you’re alone and you spot two crimes while swinging across buildings. One: A bank is getting robbed, the employees are held at gunpoint. Two: (Y/n)’s getting robbed and having a gun to her head. Who would you go to?”

“(Y/n).”

“But more people would die if you don’t stop the bank robbery. If you go to (Y/n), only one life would be saved.”

Peter looked down, and thought about it.

“Do you understand now?”

He nods, before getting out of the car and running off.

Not another word to Tony Stark.

Sarah Dessen Quotes for the Signs

Aries: An ending was an ending. No matter how many pages of sentences and paragraphs of great stories led up to it, it would always have the last word. (Along for the Ride)

Taurus: If you try anything, if you try to lose weight, or to improve yourself, or to love, or to make the world a better place, you have already achieved something wonderful, before you even begin. Forget failure. If things don’t work out the way you want, hold your head up high and be proud. And try again. And again. And again! (Keeping the Moon)

Gemini: But I think, personally, that it would be worse to have been alone all that time. Sure, maybe I would have protected my heart from some things, but would that really have been better? To hold myself apart because I was too scared that something might not be forever? (This Lullaby)

Cancer: I mean, it’s not surprising, really. Once you love something, you always love it in some way. You have to. It’s, like, part of you for good. (What Happened to Goodbye)

Libra: It was so risky and so scary, and yet at the same time, so beautiful. Maybe the truth was, it shouldn’t be easy to be amazing. Then everything would be. It’s the things you fight for and struggle with before earning that have the greatest worth. (Along for the Ride)

Capricorn: I was used to being invisible. People rarely saw me, and if they did, they never looked close. I wasn’t shiny and charming like my brother, stunning and graceful like my mother, or smart and dynamic like my friends. That’s the thing, though. You always think you want to be noticed. Until you are. (Saint Anything)

STUCK IN A CELL WITH JEON JUNGKOOK?!

Genre: romance/fluff/COMEDY
Pairing: Jungkook/You
Length: 3334 words
Summary: You somehow ended up in a cell with your best friend Jungkook

You sat next to him as you were sending death stares to each other. God only knows why you were trapped inside a cell with your best friend on a Friday night. If truth was to be said, you and Jungkook were caught in a heated fight, barely a few minutes ago, with him arguing as much as he could, and you, throwing his favorite vase off the balcony because you hated his handsome face. Did you really fight over his good looks? For sure it was one of the few reasons why you were even arguing in the first place. You were innocent that was for sure, but after being reported for obstructing the ‘’peace’’, you were called in at the office. The Irony of this, is that the so-called best friend is a cop as well.

“Officer Jeon, Seems like your badge is pretty useless at times like these” you commented arrogantly while crossing your arms over your chest

Jungkook follows you inside the cell, head hanging low with a very stiff posture. The last thing he expected from this Friday night was to end up inside a cell with you.

“Don’t get me started.” He turns around “I may be a cop but it still doesn’t mean that obstructing the ‘peace’ is allowed.” The boy ruffled his hair in a fury

“You can’t even do your own job properly, yet you’re here talking” you rolled your eyes

“I beg your pardon, but you’re the reason why we’re here in the first place” jungkook combs through his black bangs

Arguing with him was now your specialty. Both of you could go on and on for hours arguing over the smallest things. These days have been pretty sensitive due to your admission in med school. Jungkook screwed up again and you were on the verge of losing control when it happened.

“Oh, so now you’re going to put the blame on an innocent girl? I almost feel offended, officer.” You reply sarcastically

“ Innocent my ass, you were shouting at me barely 30 minutes ago and you even threw a goddamn vase off the window” he grabs the bars as he stares at his workmates laughing at him “ My favorite pink vase” he fakes a sob “ I liked that one so bad”

“Oh boohoo.” You cringed your face “Why do you even plant flowers in the backyards anyways! It always takes up the place. You’re a cop not a gardener”

“Flowers smell good and are beautiful, unlike a certain person” he sends you a side glare

“Excuse me?!” you scoff

“What?! Go wash your hair before telling me off, miss I-haven’t-washed-my-hair-for-three-days –because-of-school”

“What a neat freak. I didn’t have time because I has a shit ton of finals to take care of. LIVE WITH IT.”

“Exactly! Do you know that It’s a pain in the ass to live with you?” he stares at you

“Look who’s talking! You never wash the dishes and you’re practically a prince living at our place”

“Why do you bring my lifestyle onto this? I never asked you to be my wife. No one even has to cook because I only eat cereals and ramen. You should be thankful to have me as your roommate” he sighs “Why are you even mad about this? “

“You’re really annoying, you know that?” you groan “Tell goodbyes to the three meals a day I used to provide for the past year and a half.”

“Why?” he makes a meme face

“Because you’re a cheater” you glare at him

“I didn’t do it” jungkook buries his face in his hands “I swear on   Overwatch’s very existence that I didn’t do it ”

“Jungkook, you don’t realize how embarrassed you’re making me whenever you lie”

“I never lied about that!” jungkook sighed “It’s not like we got laid or anything like that! Why you are even fueled up about this issue! I have no girlfriend, so I’m not even cheating”

“You’re cheating on our friendship” you smack his arm

“I said, it wasn’t me for f*ck’s sake” jungkook grunts annoyingly “I don’t know if you have trouble understanding or if it’s your brain that has a serious issue, but I did not f*cking cheat” he turned around

“You didn’t cheat of course” you commented “You still f*cked or should I say, you’re still f*cked”

“I didn’t cheat” jungkook scowls “I’m always fair play when it comes to games and you know that!”

Jungkook’s workmates were having a blast trying to figure out the situation between both of them.Jimin was holding his cup of coffee in his fingers while Taehyung was munching on some chocolate flavored donuts. Meanwhile Hoseok was still typing in a few more details about their latest case, on the computer.

“Are they talking about a game?” Jimin whispers in taehyung’s ear

“I almost thought they were talking about a girl for a second” taehyung whispered back

“They’re obviously talking about video games.” Hoseok nodded with that irresistible smile

The cat fight was persistent on the other side of the cell, yet jungkook chose to put it to rest with his next action.

“Ugh…” jungkook sits down and takes off his vest to lay it on the ground “You can keep on talking to the walls. I’m going to sleep”

“You obviously feel no remorse since you feel comfortable about sleeping in a cell” you chuckled heartlessly

“I basically live in this police station, five days a week, I don’t see why I wouldn’t be comfortable here”

“Who’d ever hear you would think you’re a criminal” you rolled your eyes

“Yes, I steal hearts for a living” he makes a small heart with his index and thumb

“No jungkook. You make me barf for a living” you pretend vomiting

“Enjoy your youth, shorty. It’s not every day that you get to be inside a cell. With a handsome man on top of it” jungkook lays on his jacket cockily “Just take a moment to admire my sharp jaw. Instead of complaining. You can actually see it up close with no interruption this time”

“ You’re so f*cking cocky even in moments like these” you raise your brow “ Your jaw is so feminine along with your stupid lashes and that so called nose  , I don’t see what’s there to see. “

“Or maybe you can roast me while we’re at it” Jungkook sighed “My jaw has more structure than your life ever did” he laughed at his own joke

“Keep it down, Jeon” Hoseok shouted “No roasting is allowed in those cells, even though y’all are very entertaining to watch” he chuckled

“I wasn’t roasting, just stating facts here, Officer Jung “Jungkook bowed his head cutely

You decide to walk around inside the cell as jungkook was comfortably laying on the cold floor. The more you inspected this room the more disgusted you were. The scent, the coldness and the rusty vibe all over the place, gave you everything but comfort. It was your first time being inside a cell, yet your best friend was sitting there as if no harm was done and everything was alright. You both remained silent for a few more minutes before you suddenly started to bang your head on the nearest wall while murmuring the same few words

“Ugh, why am I in a cell with him”

“Because we sinned together” Jungkook replied with no warning as slowly sat up

“Did someone talk? I can’t seem to hear anyone” you pretend he’s inexistent

“So childish” he glares at you before bringing his knees closer to his chest, like a child would.

“Right back at you” you shoot daggers through your eyes

“Let’s make up already” jungkook shakes his shoulders cutely as he slowly walks your way

You slowly back up as he gets closer and closer to you. Your back hits the cold bars and Jungkook takes this opportunity to grab onto the bars on each side of your head, trapping you between his body and the cell itself. It was just like a fun game for him. You were being alert, anxious and angry, and he was taking advantage of your state to have a little bit of fun.

“We are not making up” you hold your head high as you stare directly back onto his dark orbs

“We are going to make up. Mark my words”

He lowers his head to close the space between your faces, now brushing the tip of his nose against yours. You shiver and ponder in your head, if the reason why you were feeling so nervous was due to the fact that this cell was extremely cold, or because Jungkook was having some effect on you.You chose to shrug off the thoughts from your head and push his rock hard chest with your index. Jungkook doesn’t even budge form him spot, as your small finger had nothing to win against his inhuman physical strength. He always had the advantage, whether it was about being imprisoned or cornering you inside a cell. You’d somehow end up being at his mercy.

“Get off, right now” you mutter under your breath

“I don’t think so” he presses his face on your cold shoulder

Jungkook’s workmates were just as confused as you

“What are they doing?” Jimin raised a suspicious brow

“Uhm…it looks like they’re being intimate, sir” Taehyung covers his eyes

“Officer Jeon does all sorts of things” Hoseok sighed “Let him be”

A million thoughts were running through your mind. You wanted to push him off but couldn’t bring yourself to do it. It wasn’t long before jungkook cut off your thoughts with his next action.

“Come on!!” he grabs your arm

“What?” you frown

“Let’s enjoy the next 24 hours we have left together in a cell” he pulls your small frame in his arms with no warning

“Let me go!” you struggle to get off his embrace as his muscles are tightly wrapped around you

“Come on. You’re a small bean and I’m a very bored bunny. Let’s mingle and call it a fun night” he whispers on your neck

“No one is allowed to mingle in those cells Jungkook” Jimin authoritative voice shouts from his desk

“I was just playing, Officer Park!” jungkook replies “But I still have extra handcuffs with me” he wiggled his eyebrows at you

“What on earth—“your eyes rounded as you felt heat reaching your cheeks

“BDSM Isn’t allowed either” Taehyung burst out laughing “I swear to god, I wish we could arrest entertaining people like you every day, it’d be more hilarious at work”

“Officer!” you stare at jimin “Please tell him to let me go” you whine

“Hugs are allowed for mental support” Jimin winked at you

“He’s not even hugging me! He’s trapping me!” you groan “Tell him to stop crushing me with his annoying muscles!”

“I’m not risking my safety over this. Officer Jeon usually picks up the things that annoy him and throw them somewhere” Jimin comments “I don’t want this to happen to me”

“What are you? Godzilla?!” you turn around to stare at jungkook in puzzlement “These guys are your superiors and you do those kind of things to them?” your jaw drops

“They’re good at obeying” jungkook replies cockily “As long as you got strength, power doesn’t even matter here“he raises a sexy brow

“What a WEIRD POLICE STATION” you stare at everyone

“We get that often” Hoseok nods

“It’s fun being in a cell, to be honest” Jungkook slowly frees you from his grip “I get to spend time with my best friend” he hugs your arm like a cute child

“Get it together you dumb bun, we’re in a goddamn cell because the police showed up at my place”

“I’m a cop and I’m always at your place. I never saw you freak out whenever I showed up with my cop uniform there” Jungkook backed up

“You’re just Jungkook okay! You’re not a cop” you argued

“But I graduated from Law school! I have my own badge. I arrested over 25 people over the last two months. Why would you think that I’m not qualified to be a cop! You better acknowledge me!” he scowls

Jungkook’s workmates found themselves laughing at the hilarious conversation

“Officer Jeon, seems like you’re not as qualified as you pretend to be” officer Jimin chuckled from the side

“Shut up Park Jimin” jungkook glared at the man

“Where did the hyung go to? Should I remove your promotion, for disregarding your superiors, you little brat?” Jimin threatened

“Hyung” jungkook sighed “Sorry” he apologizes with no sincerity whatsoever

“What if they end up keeping us here for longer” you fake a sob on his shoulder

“We didn’t kill anyone, we just fought. You won’t get imprisoned for life. It’s just 24 hours”

Jungkook stared at his surroundings before gazing at you a few times. He knew what would ease the tension.

“Hey, there’s so many fun stuff to do in a cell” Jungkook stares at you “Come here” he pulls your arm so that you sit close to him

“Like what? “you ruffled your hair “ Jungkook, it might not be that unusual for you because you’re always at the police station, but I’m just a normal citizen! What will mother say about this” you smack his arm

“I’ll just cover up for you then” jungkook scowls “ Now come here and let’s play rock paper scissors to pass time”

“Are you f*cking kidding me?” your jaw dropped

“I mean, wasn’t it the same when we were in elementary school? During recess time, we were surrounded by a huge fence, yet we still had fun. We were imprisoned back then as well, where’s the difference?”

“EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS IS DIFFERENT YOU DUMB idiot” you pinch his arm

“We can play truth or dare” jungkook snaps his fingers “Or even better! We could take this whole cell thing as an excuse to cuddle or something”

“You better stay away from me or I’m suing you” you point at him

“I get that a lot these days” he winks at you “People like suing me for my illegal sexiness” he rolls up his sleeves

“What is he saying now?” you sigh

“Come on, Y/N! Let’s do something fun! It’s not every day that we get the chance to be stuck in a cell together for 24 hours” he pokes your waist

“The chance?! What is lucky about this? Have you lost your mind? “You nudge his arm “Why am I friends with you.”

“I brought a pen with me” Jungkook blinked cutely “Let’s draw a few bunnies on the walls while we’re at it. As a memory~”

“What is good about this memory? Do you expect me to tell my future children that I got arrested and remained in a cell for 24 hours with my friend, as we both drew bunnies on the prison’s wall” you scoff

“It honestly feels like we’re back in old school days’ right?” Jungkook giggled as he took out his pen to draw cute bunny ears on the wall

“Why are you giggling?! Jungkook, stop laughing. This isn’t the time to be laughing” you grabbed his arm “Please get me out of here”

“What can I do?” he shrugged “Even, I, as a cop, has to get sentenced just like you. Let’s just live with the consequences we brought upon ourselves” Jungkook draws the big bubbly eyes of his bunny “Damn, he looks like me” he points at the half-drawn bunny

“Stop drawing self-portraits of yourself and listen” you whine

“Stop over dramatizing everything and learn from your mistakes” he uses his other hand to mess your hair in the process “We fought, you broke something and we got in trouble for it. Next time we’ll behave like mature adults do, that’s all”

“I’m not overdramatizing” you slap his hand away “You may spend every day working next to this cell, but I’ve never been in a cell nor was I ever arrested in the past”

“Then enjoy your first time here” Jungkook blinks “Why make a fuss about it when it could be the most thrilling 24 hours of your life? I always wondered how it felt to be on the other side of these bars”

“You’re a crazy piece of shit” you shake your head

“More like a positive minded piece of shit” he smiles sarcastically

“Jungkook” you whine again as you lean your face on his back as the boy keeps on drawing bunnies

“What?” He asks you “Are you going to complain again?” you feel his voice vibrating through his back

“It’s just a little cold in here” you wrap your arms around his waist

“What an amazing excuse to back hug me” He smirks as he keeps on drawing “You’re smitten over my beauty” he makes a sassy facial expression

“I hate cells” you muffle your face on his toned back

“Cells as in cellular composition or prison cells?” Jungkook laughed at his own joke

“You think you’re so funny.” you pinch his waist

“Ouuuch!!!” he jumps because of your touch “I will sue you for physical abuse”

“Come on Fetus, you like getting physical anyways, so it shouldn’t even bother you in the first place” you poke his waist as you press your chin on his shoulder

“There’s clearly a difference between hugging someone and pinching them! This is not my type of physical encounter” he frowns as he slowly pushed you away from him “ I will go take a nap now” he grabbed his wrinkled vest and laid it on the floor once again

“ Jungkook, I’m well aware of the fact that you work here in the police station, but didn’t it occur to you to think about what prisoners do in these cells for 24 hours?! They could be peeing all of over the ground and you’re sleeping there. It’s disgusting”  you furrow your brows

“Well technically they pee in a cup” Jungkook comments “this is also why I insisted that we share the cell”

“EXCUSE ME?!” you shout

“Are you going to obstruct the peace here too? Calm down Juliet. We’re just here for a few more hours” he made a pillow with his shoes

“If you didn’t get it yet, usually men and women are in different cells, but I insisted we get imprisoned together”

“And why is that? Why can’t you have a single brilliant idea for once AND GET US OUT OF HERE“ you sighed

“Because I know you were going to freak out as soon as we get there, so I thought I might as well be there as your mental support”

“Idiot”

“That’s what best friends are for right?” he smiles at you

“No, that’s what idiots do, you stupid son of a fetus” you smack the back of his head

“This so called son of a fetus has a job unlike you” he frowns “It hurts too” he pouts “Love me!” he pulls you into his arms once again

“Ew Ew We ! I’m not laying there!” you try prying his hands off you

“Stop being so stuck up and be cool for once. Med school turned you into a germaphobe, but may I remind you that we used to roll in mud back then in elementary school?”  He pulls your waist close to his body “Now let’s just sleep and get tofu tomorrow morning”

“Why tofu?” you blink

“Well, we did stay in a cell overnight. Might as well keep it traditional and buy tofu after being released” he stares at you

“Why am I his friend” you bury your face in his chest “I HATE YOU JEON JUNGKOOK”

Jungkook feels your muffled screams vibrations through his toned chest and he chuckles at your sight. He sure had lots of fun in that cell.

“We should get arrested more often.” He laughs at you as he secretly writes your initials next to his on the wall with a heart surrounding them

5.2k words. College!au. Min Yoongi. ft Park Jimin. Fluff.

Maybe making a deal with Yoongi to fake date for a month and do whatever he tells you to in exchange─ isn’t your brightest idea.

“Just so you know, I don’t like you.” You defiantly state.

The corner of Yoongi’s lips lifts up into a half smirk, gaze slanting your way, teasingly questioning your declaration. He tugs your intertwined hands to his side, yanking you closer to him as well until there’s hardly any space between the two of you.

“Likewise.” He says ever so calmly, it pisses you off.

You’re about to open your mouth to let a snarky remark put his smug ass in place but he beats you to it.

“You ready?”

The question brings you back to the situation at hand. Let’s see, you’ve made a deal with the devil, namely Min Yoongi who’s always been a tough competition in everything, you get the highest score in a test and he gets the highest score in your best class. Technically, asking your long term rival to pretend to be your fake boyfriend to ─how do you put it─ one up your ex, Jimin, whose presence is always graced by a group of female students after the rumor of the breakup made its way through campus, isn’t the best idea. But if it’s anyone that won’t judge you for your insecurities when you see those gorgeous girls Jimin is always seen talking to, or rather flirting with, then it would be Yoongi.

“Absolutely not.” You breathe out, eyes widening as if everything’s finally crashing down on you and hitting your square in the face with a stone brick.

“Good.” He smiles playfully, almost making you forget your purpose.

I’m a little caught up with myself lately. Won’t you take my most sincere apology? I’d stretch these arms just to hold you tight, but even I know that it wouldn’t do us any good. There’s so much more out there. There’s a million new things to learn within a day. You’re an artist, right? You’re into the night, right? You love this tiny blue dot, right? There’s so much more than love. There’s so much more than just us. I’m a little caught up with myself lately. Won’t you hold your head high for us? I’d stretch this heart an extra mile just to hear you laugh a little louder, just to see you smile a little bigger, and just to tell you that you’re more than enough for anyone to love. There’s better people out there for you to meet. There’s better people out there for you to fall in love with. You’re a painting, right? You’re made from watercolors, right? A burgundy rose waiting to be dipped into the horizon– you’re a sunrise waiting to happen. We’re a little caught up in the fleeting moments of just more than another us. We’re a little too good to be true, so it comes with a price. We’re alike, so I know what’s best for us. We’ve got plenty of time to explore each other, so we should analyze our reality. Long distance relationships are a test that we shouldn’t be taking– not in our current conditions at least. I’m a little distressed about myself. You’re still figuring out the world and who you are as a soul that loves to paint with just more than colors. We need to learn a little more. What is love to you? I’ve asked this many time before. Your answer is always me. That’s the thing, there’s plenty of right answers, but I’m just not one of them. How can I love you if I don’t know the first thing about it? Failed relationships are like dull pencils that we’ll want to sharpen every second– you were never boring, you were interesting to the shoreline and back. That’s the thing, isn’t it? I would give you the world if I knew how to. I would give you a meaningful promise if I knew how to. I could love you for an eternity composed of my heart twisted into your chest if I knew how to let go of the past. I should, but I still haven’t figured out how to do such a feat. I’m still stuck in my feelings like how you’re stuck onto me. I’m still lost at sea with crew members composed of younger versions of myself. How can I love you if I’m still figuring out how to love myself? How can I devote my passion to you if I’m still in trouble when I hear her name? How can I ruin you just for another shot at love? I wouldn’t do that to you. Alas, maybe I already have. Love is such a simple word. Four letters and the crowd cheers. Three words and there’s world peace. Afraid to open up and longing to be more of myself– I had to tell you every truth about who I am to myself and who I am to you. We’re always spinning ourselves to bed, we were smiling and hoping. You’re so much like me that it’s scary. They say that opposites attract, so how do we explain this? I guess we’re stuck in a fairy tale again and this is just another page. You’re a chapter that I can’t flip past, you’re a positive thing in my life and I don’t think I’m ready to accept that. I’ve got much to learn and maybe this was just a part of it. I’m a little caught up and into you– and this is the part where I have to pick what’s best for us. And the fact that you’re just like me… means that you already get it. You’re already in my head and you’ve made yourself comfy. So I guess an I love you will never start to sound like an apology between us.

“I love you.”
—  This is for you and only you.

We’ve given our hips, our knees, our stomach lining, our love, our gifts and so much more, and it was worth it. It’s only the beginning beautiful people, hold your heads up HIGH. Love for the Signs
  • Aries: You try so hard to show your bulletproof vest to the world, but why is it every time they shoot, you bleed? Sweet Aries, you keep tying yourself to the train tracks without telling anyone, but whenever that train comes, your noble heart is crushed under insecurities' wheels. You'd rather watch yourself bleed out than ask from a giving hand. Your heart is too pure and your intentions are too raw to hide from others. Dear Aries, you are worthy of vulnerability. Exposing yourself to others does not and will not make you weak. It can only give you power.
  • Taurus: My sweet, dear Taurus, you are radiant in your glow and the person who ever told you otherwise is a damned liar. You pick their words off of sunflowers and dress yourself in their pedals, but Taurus you must let yourself see the flower as a whole. You sew the vibrant pieces to your heart without realizing that half the flower is already dead and now you are attached to something that no longer has life. You thrive in the grandeur of nature and having death fastened to your insides drains your once fluorescent glow. Something you once thought was so right, is now wrong. Admitting your faults will only let your heart breathe.
  • Gemini: Oh, the vivacity of life you hold within you my exuberant Gemini. You live two lives at once, you're a stimulated bolt of youth while simultaneously being a fallen heart always one finger away from an anxiety attack. Sometimes my dear, we can't see you with your forged facade. Do you even know which face you may wear today? It's an unconscious action, you feel both sides so you are able to be both sides at once and the others call your blasphemies. My dear, stop trying to suppress half of yourself in order to accommodate to their needs. Love both sides, then you may feel whole.
  • Cancer: My darling Cancer, are you still in bed holding your chest waiting for them by your window? You stand at the corner of their hearts holding a sign for hire "needed to be needed, loved to be loved" but didn't anyone ever tell you no one will ever love you as much as you do? If you move your hand from your chest, i promise you darling your heart will not fall, it can only grow. Your empty spots are not fatalistic, they are opportunities to be filled with the daises you picked from your garden. So let go sweet Cancer, let go and let in the fresh air of your beautiful aspirations.
  • Leo: I love to watch you paint as you delicately carve your love into trees you wish to lay under. You dream of peace but only seem to land on a pile of stressful need. Your heart is too big for them my sweet Leo, your heart is too pure and genuine that it often consumes you. They call you prideful but don't they know its because you already gave your heart to them and watched them squeeze its evergreen beauty? Your pride is not bad nor is it rotten or grim, it is an example of your standards. They broke your heart once and you'd be a fool to let them break it twice. Hold your head up high dear Leo, but remember to look down every now and then.
  • Virgo: You order ORDER itself and when it doesn't listen to you, you deteriorate into shambles. All you ever wanted was to help the ones you love, to give guidance for those who can't see past their eyes. Your detailed eye does not go unseen and your hidden heart will not go unfelt. You are the face of sacrifice, genuine in your quest for perfection but you must realize that you do not have to suffer. My sweet Virgo, you've come to know many lovers but have yet to know yourself. The ocean may seem infinite but you are far from the bottom, you may use your thoughts to drown yourself or you may use them to float. Your Mondays handwork with a heart full of integritY, but please my beautiful Virgo, let yourself breathe and enjoy the release of a Friday afternoon.
  • Libra: Dressed in black and red stained lips, you are lady lust herself playing both sides through stolen sips of wine. You hand out pieces of your heart in perfume masked gift baskets and then at night you hold yourself and wonder why you feel so empty. You have an exquisite soul my dear Libra, but you must stop walking around in the graveyards at night, trying to bury your feelings won't keep them from coming back alive. You fell in love with love itself and now the queen of the equilibrium can no longer keep balance. Sweet Libra, you are worthy of a voice but you must first speak to be heard. Stop using others affection for you as a measure of your worthiness, you must sit in silence and wait for what you cannot change.
  • Scorpio: Oh my dear Scorpio, how long has it been since you felt secure? Your jealous rampages are the result of your fractured loyalties and now when you do hold trust they often crush it in your hand and you're left to watch it fall through your fingers. You cannot manipulate another to love you. You are not tongue tied, you are delicately planned words with secret intentions hunting the truth you never wanted to know. My beautiful Scorpio, you must realize when to let yourself be. You haunt yourself with the action of others, but what they did to you does not define you, and it will no longer control you. The clever mind of a Scorpio shall not be wasted on the weak willed.
  • Sagittarius: The adventurous Sagittarius, which walks of life have you danced with today? You sing with the stories of tomorrow and live with the spontaneity of today, but you must realize that life is painted many different tones; it's wingspread freedom, but it's also storms of serious. Honesty is a virtue that we all thank you for, but my dear Sagittarius the integrity of others is not a joke you can recklessly play with. You are the embodiment of optimism cloaked in yesterdays ambition and tomorrows hope, you are beautiful in your wisdom. But life must be taken from all sights, you are the king of experiences, so dearest Sag, let yourself experience your emotions.
  • Capricorn: My dear Capricorn, you are grand in your restless hunger for the mountains peak. Rushing up the mountain side, trying to make it in time for the sunrise where you wish to lay in the hands of another sipping victorious wine. And although that sunrise will be magnificent in it's symbolic accomplishment, you must realize that missing it isn't a catalyst to your defeat. Although achieving hard works ambition is glorious, your hands are now ice and your heart isolated. This fight to the top may be easier alone, but who will hold you at the end? Remember, with every sunrise there is a sunset, both are qual in their beauty.
  • Aquarius: You are a blessing to tiresome routines while dressed in fortified independence. They can call you bundles of hand me down labels, making you a character to fit into their games but you will rebel to the noise and continue your crafts. But you see my sweet Aquarius, being a voice for the good, your beautiful detachment to judgement is also your biggest hamartia. Others are attracted to the impressions you plant and grow attachments while you disengage when you feel restricted. You must realize others do not break from their emotions so easily, your actions often leave scars. Let yourself be sedated by others, having emotions run deep is fatal but my dear Aquarius, you will never feel more alive.
  • Pisces: An extravagant castle, you are the magic that lives in all of us. The purity of your heart whispers divine compassion, constantly giving love to passing creatures. You live with not only your emotions, but you hold the hurt of everyone around you, you feel their tales of travesties. And my dear Pisces, when all you can do is feel floods of yours and others hurricanes, you escape back to your castle with locked gates. But my sweet Pisces, you must understand that you cannot live in that castle, you cannot wash away ruthless pain with sun dried whiskey and vindictive vodka. Your creative soul is magnificent, so never stop drawing your castle, never stop exploring the depths of your imagination, never stop having empathy, but you can't stop living.
10 Things They Don’t Tell You about Finding Your First Teaching Position

Congratulations on graduating you teacher/educator! Wrapping up your student teaching and walking across that stage is a validation of four long years of work. Now all that’s left is to find your first teaching job.

1.) You will not have a job in May. Breathe.

Especially if you’re not math, science, or SPED expect not to have a job in May. This can be an incredibly scary and daunting position to be headed towards, but it is also completely normal. Schools do not even start thinking about the next school year until late June/early July. This isn’t to say you shouldn’t even start your search until then, but don’t panic until August 1st. Perhaps you’re a self-driven “go-getter” who just knows in your heart you’re going to be one of the few with a job. That’s great, be determined, but know that the system you’re headed towards does not really reward go-getters, and often you’ll feel like you’re constantly speeding up to a red light. The people who are graduating with a job are either: student teaching at a school that has an opening, their CT is head of the department, or they return to the high school they themselves attended. There is nothing wrong with using connections, but if you’re not in the one of the above three categories, it is a tough process to get your foot in the door. Thousands of teachers just like you go through this process every year. Breathe, and you will be fine.

2.) There will be peaks and valleys

There will be days that you are nailing it; there will be days where you are wallowing in self-pity on the carpet blubbering about how you’re un-hirable (and maybe un-lovable) and should crawl under a rock and die. As with any job search, the journey is a long one and is filled with peaks and valleys. This is something that your education prep courses notoriously under-prepared you for. To start with, they do not give you a real scope of just how much time the search itself is going to take you and the courses, (no matter how many resume building classes you attend) can’t prepare you for how personal it feels when you never get a call back, or a reply email. The valleys are so long and so deep and the peaks are so short that you may accidentally trip over one on the way to another valley. You present the best version of yourself for so long and seem to still face rejection at every corner. There will be days where you get that email or a principal will leave a voicemail and you will feel as if you have vanquished a monster every time. Those are glorious times in the kingdom. Know this: it is not personal, there is nothing wrong with you, keep up the good fight.

3.) Take Sundays for you

Obviously being determined is important and you want to start early and have your application materials (resume, letters of rec…etc) as soon as you can get them together. However, nothing ever gets accomplished on a Sunday. It’s rare for any principals to be in their office, district offices certainly aren’t open, and everything shuts down on a Sunday. In the mad, stressful search that is finding your first teaching position, take Sundays for you. Go to the movies, hang out with friends, go swimming. Whatever the case may be you will never get anything accomplished on a Sunday, so you might as well take the day to unwind and enjoy what little of a summer you have. A lot of your search is going to be about balance and not stressing yourself out into a panic. Taking one day a week is a very manageable way to organize your time and make sure you’re not going to get burned out too early.

4.) Everyone’s a critic

Teaching is a unique profession in the sense that everyone around you, teachers or not, will think they know how to do it and will give you advice on your job search. Random people will ask “well, did you call any principals yet?” and you’re supposed to act shocked at this revelation that is going to single-handedly turn your career around. Your friends and family will mean well, which it makes it very difficult to get upset with them when they turn to you in May wondering why you haven’t found work. You have done your research; you know when districts start hiring or when they have career fairs…etc, just hold your head up high. It’s difficult when you feel you’re doing every little thing you can to find a job and your family and friends are breathing down your neck and offering patronizing advice like “make sure you have extra copies of your resume.” Extra copies? WHAT? Slow down, let me get a pen, I want to get all of this written down! The best advice is to smile and nod and don’t let their ignorance of our profession get under your skin.

5.) Learn to love the hoops

Contrary to what movies (and your family) will tell you, teaching is not a one “30-minute-interview-handshake” sort of thing anymore (see #2). A very plausible scenario: you to attend a career fair and give a 5-minute meet and greet, to which they will schedule another follow-up interview (usually lasting about 30-40 minutes) after that interview you would make it to the second round, which is a 20 minute teaching demonstration lesson, followed by an hour-long debrief on your lesson’s strengths and weaknesses. Finally they’d narrow it down to two candidates, and you would have to interview an additional time for the position, then wait a week and a half while the principal/admin team makes their decision for which you have a 50/50 shot at. That is roughly 4-5 hoops to jump through. Urban districts, rural districts, and every district in between have a lengthy screening process that, (unless you’re in one of the three categories mentioned in #1) will take some time to complete. There is no way around this process, and the only way to win the game is to play it. You will have to love the process, because if you don’t life will become a meaningless abyss and you’ll end up like one of those teaching majors who take some desk job somewhere and convince themselves they’re happier not being in a classroom. Stick with it! It is what everyone else is doing and you will make it out alive.

6.) There aren’t always right answers

So congrats, you landed the interview! That is a feat in and of itself because principals and assistant principals have to sort through so many different resumes and qualified applications that making the cut that first time is a success. When looking for your first teaching job out of college, it is hard to get out of that “right/wrong, black/white, yes/no” mentality. In your education classes there were right or wrong answers. However, in interviews with principals (especially the earlier ones) they are just looking for how you think or how you shape your ideas/philosophy over time. Answer the questions as succinctly and honestly as you can. Sometimes they may ask a question you know nothing about, such as a specific theory or score-reporting software. In these cases, just admit you’re unfamiliar with whatever concept they are asking you about, but are willing to do some independent research. Hundreds of applicants will be b.s.-ing answers all day to their faces, and most principals will thank you for your honesty. Get out of that “right/wrong” dichotomy because it’s going to put a lot more stress on you when speaking with the principal. There is, of course, the possibility that whomever is interviewing you will hate all your answers, and that’s fine (see #7) that just means it’s somewhere you don’t want to be, or wouldn’t “gel” well with the rest of the staff.

7.) Go to every interview

This sounds like common sense, and the angry skeptic might read this point as “oh yeah, let me turn down all the NOTHING I’m getting offered.” Hold tight. After working your way through May and June and maybe even early July you will finally start to get some traction. Schools will start calling you back slowly, but surely. Think of it as the first snowflake of an avalanche, or the first drop in a rainstorm, or whatever various “more will come” metaphor you’d prefer. You start to hack your way through the jungle of hoops and a few schools tell you you’re being “highly considered” or “you’re the favorite candidate for this position.” That is great news! However, be wary of ever assuming you’ve got a job in the bag. There may be a point where you’re so sure one school wants to hire you, and then you’ll get another call. Go to that interview. Until your signature is ink on paper, keep jumping through the hoops. Sometimes the best school will contact you later in the year and might be the best thing for you. The universe is a random and chaotic thing, so keep as many options open as possible and be careful about shutting doors too quickly.

8.) Don’t kid yourself on where you want to be

In line with #6, be honest about what kind of environment, and what kind of student body you want to teach. Some of your peers will opt for the more rural areas where you have to drive 30 minutes to get to a Wal-Mart; the class sizes are smaller and the kids have a lot of parental involvement. However, some of your peers will opt for more urban areas, some of your peers will opt for a suburb area or a private school; they all have pros and cons. At any rate, make sure you know what kind of area you want to be in, and make those a top priority in your search for a job. Spending a year in an environment you hate will drive you nuts and, frankly, it will rub off on your students and will be a bad situation all around. When you feel like you’re drowning, you might be quick to accept “any port in a storm,” and this is entirely natural. However, fight this urge. Your students will sense it, your administration will sense it, and that’s bad news. You may be waiting a bit longer, and other jobs might pass you up in the meantime, but it is better to wait for a position you could really see yourself in rather than taking the first offer that comes along.

9.) Your resume will never matter as much as your personality

Over the years you may have added many fellow education majors to Facebook (through classes, for projects, whatever.) You will have seen these peers teach in classes, and through four years you’ll have a rough idea of how these men and women are in a classroom. These peers will forget to turn on projectors, refuse to accept any criticisms of their lesson plans, or speak so softly they couldn’t command an army of ants let alone a classroom. Every other day you will see someone post a status announcing their new position of gainful employment. Some of these people you will remark “oh, good for them!” and for others your jaw will drop in disbelief that some district out there in the world gave that person a job. It’s rude, it’s petty, but you will think it. Bottom line: be prepared to see bad teachers get jobs before you. That’s because they met with a principal who, more than likely, just felt like that applicant would be a “good fit” for their building. Often they are correct. Your resume is incredibly important to getting your foot in the door, but at the end of the day that personality has to shine through because that is what’s going to clinch you the job.

10.) We are all on the same ship

There are some who believe that finding your first teaching job is a zero-sum game. (Your loss is their win.) These people will commonly say things like “I’m not sharing any of my resources!” or “Why would I tell people about openings I know about? Then someone else could get them!” Do not, under any circumstances, choose to be one of those people. Teaching is a profession built on collaboration and the people who respond to the stress of searching for a job by lashing out and treating everyone like the enemy make this process practically unbearable. Sometimes a friend will get a call from an urban school, and she’ll pass your name along to them instead because she’d prefer something more rural. Sometimes it is just that easy. We, as educators, have enough to deal with trying to find that first job without worrying about our peers stabbing us in the back.  We are all passengers on the same ship just trying to get into classrooms to inspire and foster students. Rest assured you will get into a classroom, and all the effort will be worth it. Once you finally secure that job, do you really want to turn around and see that no one’s behind you because you were more interested in stepping on necks than helping people out?

One day your grandkids will ask “what was the best day of your life?” and having kids and grandkids and winning the lottery and solving the world’s problems will pale in comparison to the day a principal calls you to offer you the position. That moment is coming; be prepared and try to relax.
