My school’s Linguistics Club had Dr. Robert Leonard come and give a talk about Forensic Linguistics. It was so interesting! I honestly never even knew something like this existed before. It’s basically when linguists examine patterns in ransom notes, letters, and written threats sent in by criminals, and using these patterns they can get a more accurate profile of a suspect.
I’m now considering going into this field for my masters degree because I’ve always been interested in criminal justice.
