Papercraft Inspiration: Honey Bees in a Hive Tin by Kate Kato

Find this mixed media sculpture and others by Kate Kato in her Kasasagi’s Etsy Store here. *She’s on an Etsy vacation for a week or so, but will be back.

I am a huge fan of tin or Altoids Tin crafts. For 13 of my favorite Altoids Tin DIYs go here; for all Altoids Tin DIYs go here.

Note: When I post anything from Etsy, I am not getting compensated in any way (money or free products).

l went to the book store yesterday and stumbled across Amberlough”, binge read it in a day (like i do with all gay fantasy novels), and then proceeded to draw my favorite character (Ari)

‘The Hive’ by CentauriAnthropology

I’ve uploaded another bit of art, this time for Jane Prentiss, John Amhurst, and the Hive from ‘The Magnus Archives’.  I really like how this one turned out, although I must admit that the research was … slightly stomach churning.

As always, feel free to reblog, but please don’t repost without permission.  Thanks!

[Cayde-6] Can’t sleep, Eris? Too many raisins?

[Eris Morn] I rarely sleep. And when I do…well.

//You took me in and yet you deny me. I am your salvation. I am-//

[Cayde-6] No rest for the wicked, huh. You and Banshee. Maybe the two of you should get lunch sometime, talk about those nightmares.

[Eris Morn] Indeed. And what haunts your dreams of late, Cayde - if dreams are what you call them?

[silence]

[Cayde-6] Funny you ask. Could be it’s all the masks around these days, but…I see things I don’t understand. Memories, maybe. Or other Caydes. Places I don’t recognize. It’s like déjà vu, but it doesn’t stop. And then I wake up, and I can’t remember where I am.

//You use my powers and yet you refuse me. When will you see that you have been taught a lie? I will give you understanding. Let me consume you, and you will know the meaning of power.//

[Cayde-6] Eris? You okay?

[Eris Morn] Mm. Have you spoken to Ikora about these…visions? Perhaps the diaries of the Thanatonauts would grant you some peace of mind. And I have been assured that the mysteries of your kind are not ignored by the Cryptarchy.

//You swallowed me whole, and you deny the contract. Oath-breaker. Light-drinker. Dark-//

[Cayde-6] I’ve never been to Jupiter, Eris. Not sure I want to know what I was doing there.

[Eris Morn] I cannot say I blame you. There are memories that I, too, wish never to revisit.

//I will not allow you to forget.//

[Cayde-6] You ever wonder if that’s all this is? A dream? A nightmare? A memory? You’ve read the Ishtar journals. You know what they were afraid of.

[Eris Morn] It has crossed my mind. But the flesh remembers. There are events which, like scars, never fade. I find it hard to believe that they are not…real.

Well. They are real enough. And we live with them, because we are needed. Never forget that, Cayde. Never forget our purpose.

//They were not worthy. We see that now. But you are worthy. You could become great. Transcendent. You could cross the oceans of time and space. You could-//

[Cayde-6] Yeah. Thanks for the kind words, I guess. You should tell children’s stories - they’d be a hit.

[Eris Morn] Then perhaps I shall. I admit that speaking with you has…quieted my nerves. Some.

[Cayde-6] Always a pleasure. Take care of yourself, Eris. You look like you could use some rest.

//I saved you from Crota’s pits, O bearer mine.//

//Worship me, for I am go[o]d.//

[Eris Morn] Thank you, Cayde. I will…endure.

 Greetings, Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to join us tomorrow for an on-stream, King’s Fall Raid and Lore-along. In addition to providing you with entertaining gameplay, we will be offering up fascinating lore tidbits along our way through Oryx’s flying fortress.

This tour will focus less on the physical architecture of the Dreadnaught and more on the mythological underpinnings of Oryx, the Hive, and the Books of Sorrow. If you have ever craved a detailed breakdown of the medieval romance tropes found within the world of Destiny (and who hasn’t?), or if you have questions or theories about Hive Lore, this is an excellent opportunity to discuss and debate them.

Joining us will be several of our colleagues, all of whom have been chosen for their perfect aim, flawless execution of mission objectives, and unrelenting focus.

We anticipate chaos.

We hope to see you on Twitch, tomorrow (2/19) at 2PM MST (4PM EST). Bring your favorite beverage, your curiosity, and enjoy what will be a fantastic escape from discussions of the newest balance patch.
