see, when you bring people to a place they’ve never been before, and they realize they’ve finally made it, it’s this look on their face that makes it all worthwhile. how do they look? well, they look like the whole world has new possibilities.
@cuddles-for-cassie : “it’s Kori and I have a challenge for you! Write a drabble of Jason with this sentence: ‘I can’t believe you did that.’”
Schninner: Err… I tried to make this fluffy, but I think it turned out really cheesy, sorry!

The sounds of gunshots sounded throughout your tiny apartment.
Your boyfriend Jason Todd’s voice rang out in panic.
“[F/N], I swear to the gods, if you kill me, I’m breaking up with you!”
A devious smile spread over your face, “I’m sorry Jay, but I have to, I can’t tarnish my reputation! I would be considered a softy if I let you live!”
Jason let out a grunt of frustration, his eyebrows furrowed in concentration and his mouth formed into a scowl.
“I’m not kidding [F/N]! I will get a divorce! “
“Well it’s a good thing we aren’t married!”
The finishing shot sounded through your living room. Jason eyes grew wide in disbelief as the words on the TV screen flashed “Game over. [F/N] wins! Jay Bird Loses! “ he dropped his remote on the ground and groaned.
You on the other hand, were pumped. As soon as you beat Jason, you had jumped up from the couch and did a small little victory dance.
“Ah Yes! Eat virtual lead ‘Jay bird’!”
“I can’t believe you did that.” Jason said, his face dead serious.
“You killed me, my own girlfriend killed me.”
You rolled your eyes, “Come on Jay, don’t be such a drama queen.”
“That’s it,” he said, he turned toward you, his face dead serious, “[F/N] [L/N], we are getting a divorce.”
You crossed your arms, “Jay, hun, again, we aren’t married.”
“Well not anymore. Remember, the divorce?” a small smile made it’s way across his face.
You mirrored his smile and played along, you let out an overly dramatic gasp and contorted your face into one of shock. “Oh no! My dearest Jay bird, the love of my life, whatever can I do to win back your love and trust?”
His smile widened more, and you plopped back down beside him on the couch, with a look of mocked despair.
“Well… you could let me me win…?”
The mask of a heartbroken lover that you wore immediately disappeared, replaced with fits of laughter. Jason’s eyes widened slightly in surprise at your sudden outburst. Once you finally got yourself together, you sat back up, with a big goofy grin on your face, you leaned over and gave your boyfriend a short sweet kiss on his lips. You parted and looked lovingly in his blue eyes.
“Oh Jay, I love you, but that’s never going to happen.”
You kissed him lightly on his nose, before hopping over the side of the couch.
“Now, do you want some popcorn to eat away your shame while we watch stranger things? Or do you just want to wallow in your failure?”
“Yeah, sure, I’ll have some popcorn.”
Your lighthearted teasing placed a grin on Jason’s face as he watched you grab a bag of popcorn and put it in the microwave. Sure you constantly teased each other and you would always destroy him in video games, but he lived you, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Red eyes. Blood red eyes which would scare anyone. When you think of someone with red irises, you think of a someone evil, or some type of monster. But despite the intimidating color of his eyes, their gaze was soft and kind.
Though my body didn’t show it, I was surprised. But I didn’t smile to make him feel better. I was just happy to see him.
Neither of us really moved. He stayed standing by the door, while I stood in the middle of the hallway. My eyes focused on his face and my feet moved forward. He instantly took a step back, as if afraid for me to get any closer.
I stopped moving, looking at him for an okay. He chuckled, almost embarrassed at his own behavior.
“Sorry,” He mumbled. I shook my head assuring that I wasn’t bothered.
“Umm,” I stammered before taking another cautious step towards him. When he didn’t do anything, I walked even closer till I was standing right in front of him. He was a bit taller than me and smelt of a nice cologne. I could see his face up close now and my eyes began to scan over every feature.
First I saw what he was wearing. A grey short sleeve round neck shirt and some pajama pants that almost made me laugh. They were blue and had baby angels on them.
The skin on his arms looked almost… scared from a burn but worse. There were scars that looked like he was tortured in some way and even thouh they were old, looked like that still hurt. Both arms were like this. His hands were the same why but his nails. They almost looked like that nails of a beast. They were brown and sharp. I looked up to see him watching me closely, checking for my reaction. I didn’t say anything, but focused on his face once more.
Dark red scars ran all around his cheeks. Most of them were small but there were two bigger ones, that drew more attention. One of them were on the right side of his face. It started from his right ear and drags all the way to the right corner of his lips. The other one was on his left side. From his temple down past his eyebrow and eye, fading in the middle of his cheek.
There something that was like a burn mark on the right side of his nose and under his right eye. Parts of his skin looked almost…chipped and dehydrated in a way. Under his left eyes was a tattoo for some sort. Yet the way the “ink” sat on his face, it didn’t seem like a regular tattoo. It was a weird symbol I’ve never seen before. His hair was dark grey color and poorly styled…well more like not styled at all. His lips were slightly chapped and I noticed some pointy teeth as he opened his mouth to speak.
“Fangs?” I spoke out loud. He stopped whatever he was gonna say and closed his mouth.
“I’m not a vampire, I promise.” He stated. I laughed slightly.
“This is why you were hiding?” I asked.
“You don’t have to lie. I’m hideous.” He snickered half heartedly.
“I wouldn’t say hideous. You shouldn’t say such things about yourself.” I spoke. I don’t know how long we stood there looking at each other before he exhaled.
“You’re the first person to look me in the eyes, in a long time.” He admitted.
I started to reply when a gasp filled the air. Suho was now looking behind me to where Kyungsoo stood with a pleased grin on his face and Nadia glare at me. If looks could kill, I would be dead.
She marched forward and I heard Suho sigh from behind me.
“Did she trick you into revealing yourself young master? I will have her removed quickly.“ Nadia almost yelled.
“She did not trick me.” Suho answered, walking past the two of us. He rubbed his eyes looking annoyed.
“I showed myself to her because I wanted to. She actually reacted better than you did.” He snapped turning around with a smirk.
“Hey Y/N?” Suho called, looking down at the ground. I looked up, wondering if he was going to give me some type of order.
“When you have time…can you meet me in the garden?” He asked. I looked over at Nadia who was staring at me with look of disbelief. She crossed her arms over her chest, as if daring me to accept.
“Okay.” I answered. Suho smiled and nodded, mumbling something before turning around. He greeted Kyungsoo before walking down the stairs.
“I don’t know what sort of trash you spat to get him show himself-” I cut Nadia off, pushing away her finger which was pointed in my face.
“I didn’t do anything ma’am. We were simply talking through the door as we always do. I was leaving to work when he stepped out of the room. Excuse me, I must do my work.” I spoke. I quickly walked past her. Kyungsoo smiled my way, winking a bit. I scoffed at him before making my way down the stairs. I started on the list of things I had to do. I decided to move watering the flowers again, the the end of the day. I cleaned, I dusted and I helped prepare dinner.
The air felt a bit lighter, despite Nadia’s constant glares. Kyungsoo was teasing me, stating that Suho had a crush on me. He also said it felt good to not have to hide things from me anymore. We were getting food prepped for dinner when Suho strolled in casually. I stopped for a moment, smiling his way. He smiled back and I went back to cutting the vegetables. He walked to the fridge, grabbing a water bottle.
As he was walking out the kitchen he turned to look at me once more. I could feel his gaze on me, but I didn’t look up.
“Did…did Suho tell you how he became like that?” Kyungsoo suddenly asked as I took the diced vegetables and put them into the pan.
I shook my head, moving onto the next step.
“No, he didn’t. I’m just thankful that he trusts me enough to show himself. I’m not gonna push him for more information.” I answered. I was so focused on cooking, I didn’t realize Kyungsoo stopped what he was doing looked my way.
I looked up a bit surprised.
“What?” I questioned. Kyungsoo looked back down at the food, shaking his head while laughing.
“We’ve had a lot of house carers. None of them have even tried to speak to Suho. A lot of them were scared off by rumors and such. You’re the first one to befriend him. You didn’t even run off when you saw him.”
“I don’t scare that easy. Plus, his appearance has nothing to do with his character.” I shrugged. The rest of the time we got dinner ready, we were telling each other jokes and laughing.
Finally getting everything done and set on the plates, I grabbed a few dishes and started walking towards the dining room. Nadia stopped me right away.
“You can’t go in there.” She snarled. I raised an eyebrow, clearly confused.
“But Nadia, I’ve seen him already. It should be okay for me to serve him dinner.” I responded. She exhaled before grabbing the plates from my hands.
“I will do it. Just stay out of my way.” the anger was clear in the way she spoke. I took a step back from her right away, keeping my arms down at my side. She spun around, leaving me there with nothing to do. I stood silently as she entered the kitchen once more to grab more plates. I looked at Kyungsoo who was just as confused as I was. I decided to head to the garden to do the rest of my work.
I walked out the kitchen to see Nadia setting plates in front of Suho who was sitting at the head of the table. Without catching any attention, I walked past the two of them and out to the hallway area. I made my way towards the back till I met the large garden. There was a long strip of land that could have many things placed there. The land had beautiful healthy green grass. Before you got to that long strip of land, there were hedges that made a sort of maze. The hedges only went up to my waist, so it would be hard to get lost. In the middle of the maze of hedges was a beautiful fountain. The fountain had two baby angels with arrows. This made me think of Suho’s Pajama pants.
Before the maze of hedges was a beautiful bed of flowers. There were so many different flowers, I couldn’t keep count. I found the watering can, which was already filled with water. I hummed as I watered the plants, looking up at the dark star filled sky. It was pretty dark in the area I was standing. The only light came from the inside of the house, but I managed. After I finished what I needed to do, I walked to the small sitting area near the flowers.
As I sat there humming a song to myself, my eyes were focused on the sky as my thoughts trailed off. Suho was who came to mind. I can’t but wonder what happened to him. Is it something that deals with the medical world? I shook my head at my own thoughts. There is no way. With a house like this, if there was some cure Suho would have bought it already.
Maybe it could be…magical? I paused for a moment before bursting into laughter.
“Magical?” I whispered to myself, “Don’t be silly. There is no way.” I knocked myself on the head softly. Though it was chilly it wasn’t for too much for me to handle.
“There you are.” A voice said from behind me. I looked over my shoulder at Suho who was approaching me. I looked back at the stars, smiling.
“Yup, here I am. Just staring at the stars.” I answered softly. Suho took the other chair and sat down. He also stared up at the sky with me.
“What are you thinking?” He asked, glancing at me.
“I’m thinking about my family.” I spoke honestly, “They’re staring at the same sky as I am, but they’re so far.”
“Why did you come to Korea?” He asked, turning his attention to me. I looked over to meet his eyes, smiling weakly.
“I came to Korea because I wanted to be surrounded by something new. My parents always kept me in that same box, and I just wanted to spread my wings.” I said.
“I could have gone to any country but I came to Korea because a friend of mine was here for a semester abroad, so I moved here so I would know someone. She let me stay wit her till I could stand on my own two feet. She finished her semester and went back to the United States.”
“I see. Are you going to go back the America?” He asked, question in his eyes. There was a hint of something else.
“Well, I will have to at some point. I’ll probably go to visit and come back.”
“Why would you come back?” Suho almost sounded surprised, his red eyes wide.
“I know being a housekeeper isn’t the definition of successful, but I am happy. I wasted 4 years in college for a major in Business Marketing, but I’m happy where I am.” It feels like I was telling myself more than I was telling him. He stared at me silently for a bit.
“Happy, huh?” He muttered to yourself.
“Are you happy?” I asked. The moment the words left my tongue I regretted them. Of course he’s not! He’s stuck in his house and can’t go anywhere!
“Umm,you don’t have to answer that,” I stammered and laughed nervously.
He also laughed, smiling widely and making his pearl white teeth visible, along with those fangs.
“It’s okay. My situation is not the best..but I’m not miserable.” He said, “I’ve actually learned a lot.”
“Have you?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yup. I learned that some people are really good liars.” He mumbled, making my smile fade.
“I don’t think that’s a good lesson to learn.” I stated truthfully.
“Not all lessons are fun ones.” He replied, for a moment all the humor in his voice was gone. I was taken by surprise.
“So I’m assuming you didn’t always look like this.” I stated, “What did you do before this?”
“I’d rather not speak of that.” His voice was soft, like he was hoping I wouldn’t bring this up.
“Okay,” I said before changing the subject. We talked for way too long. Laughing and joking with each other. I lost track of time.
“Leave my PJ’s alone.” Suho whined, pouting at me as I laughed.
“They’re cute.” I said nearly choking on my laughter. He narrowed his eyes are me in disbelief.
“I could get you some.” He offered.
“Please do.” I replied sarcastically.
“Miss Y/N, I think it’s time for you to leave.” Nadia yelled from inside the house.
We both looked back at the house before breaking out into giggles.
“She doesn’t like you very much.” Suho pointed out.
“Oh trust me, I’m aware.” I stood up, getting ready to leave.
“Can I..” Suho started, making me stop. “Can I get your number?” He asked.
“Are you even paying attention?” Haein asked. I looked up from my phone with a goofy smile on my face.
“Sorry, did you say something?” I murmured, typing my reply.
“Y/N you’re texting him aren’t you? The owner of the house you clean. What did you say his name was?” Haein asked.
“Suho.” I corrected. Haein has becoming my close friend over the few months since I started the job. She’s the wonderful cafe worker that gave me more information on the house. The two of us were sitting in my apartment, watching a drama as she goes on about this customer she is crushing on. Of course she asked questions about Suho. I simply told her that there was no creature in the house. I’m not lying. Suho isn’t a creature, he’s a person. Since he’s given me his number, we’ve been texting constantly.
“Yeah, him.” Haein narrowed her eyes at me before looking at my phone, “Y/N.”
“Mhh?” I replied, looking up to meet her stern facial expression. I realized how annoyed she was getting. I apologize and set my phone on the small wooden center table.
“What’s your relationship with that Suho guy?” She asked.
“What do you mean?” I was thrown off by her question. I even leaned away from her a bit as her lips turned into a knowing smile.
“It’s just…the way the both of you text each other, if i didn’t know any better I would say you’re a couple.”
I shook my head at her words, “He doesn’t have time to date. He already has a lot to deal with, so I know for certain he wouldn’t have time to spare to date someone.”
“He has time for you.” She retorted, chuckling. I rolled my eyes at her comment.
“It’s not like that.” I denied.
“Whatever you say. But, I think you should go for it.” She looked towards the TV again.
“I don’t like him.”
This time Haein didn’t looked away from the TV when she replied, “I never said you did.”
I don’t like him….right?
I was taken out of my thoughts when my phone beeped. I looked at it to see a text from Suho. I clicked it open and read it.
SUHO: I feel like I’m bothering you. (3:25PM)
Y/N: You’re not. I’m sitting here watching a drama with a weak female lead. It’s not exciting. (3:26 PM)
SUHO: Well I don’t think anyone wants to deal with their employer on one of their few days off. (3:29 PM)
Y/N: You are my employer aren’t you? I haven’t really thought of you in that way. (3:32 PM)
SUHO: So have I just been the ugly guy who lives in a nice house and pays you to clean? (3:35 PM)
Y/N: First off, stop calling yourself ugly. No, you’re one of the people that make feel less lonely in this mysterious country. (3:41 PM)
“How cheesy.” Haein said. I looked up to see Haein leaning over with her eyes attached to my phone screen. Her eyes moved to meet mine.
“Do you both have deep conversations and question life? Are you both that type of couple?” She asked cocking her head to the side.
“We’re not a couple.”
SUHO: I like that. I want to send you something. (3:45 PM)
“He’s gonna send a picture of his-”
“Haein!” I hissed cutting her off. She laughed at my reaction.
Y/N: What is it? (3:50 PM)
SUHO: An audio clip. I finished that piece I was composing. I was thinking you would want to hear it. (3:53 PM)
I gasped out loud, urgently replying.
Y/N: Send it!! I would love to hear it! (3:54 PM)
“How long have you two been texting for?” Haein asked as I dropped my phone in my lap.
“He asked for my number about a week and a half ago.” I informed her.
“Mhhh, I see.”
It wasn’t before the audio was sent to me. I went to find my earphones but Haein stopped, saying that she also wants to hear it.
I pressed the play button and listen to it. Wow, he really finished it. All I could do was focus on the music, drowning out everything else.
“That was beautiful.” Haein said as the music came to an end. I couldn’t even say anything. I texted Suho back right away.
Y/N: That was so beautiful absolutely breathtaking. I love it. (4:01 PM)
SUHO: Good, I’m glad you like it. I was thinking about changing the arrangement a bit. Can you help me with that next time? (4:03 PM)
Y/N: I don’t think you need to change anything. It sounds perfect to me. (4:06 PM)
I couldn’t help but smile to myself. I didn’t realize how goofy I looked till Haein laughed.
“And you’re still claiming that you don’t like this guy huh?” She shook her head.
