his eyes are on the building across the street

pls expand on your ridiculous experiences during one semester at a fake college

okay I got a few asks about this so let me see what I can remember right now. These might not all be in chronological order

- At orientation, they were talking about the reservation near campus and all these pretty sites and this kid in the back of the auditorium goes “So uhh…heard this place might be built over a Native American burial ground?”

- The speaker: “…Let’s not think about that, okay?”

- The freshman were on campus alone for like a week and a half (other than the RA’s) before the other students and I just. The parties. Were out of control. An ambulance was called basically every night.

- I walked into the bathroom the first night there to find a girl literally dying because someone slipped something in her drink and she was having a Very Bad Reaction

- Sting- you know, the singer- ‘s son lived in my residence hall. This boy almost accidentally killed me on three separate occasions (while I was just trying to do my laundry)

- I told my family about this at Thanksgiving. Everyone in the room advised me to seduce him

- I ate breakfast in the dining hall exactly once. I got scrambled eggs. I noticed no one had brought out ketchup with the condiments and politely asked about it. I received glares from at least ten different people. Apparently people there don’t believe in ketchup on eggs.

- There were these two boys in my English class known as “The Lumbard Guys”. They didn’t live in my residence hall, but they would come over almost every night, start a party, and destroy part of the basement.

- At orientation this one kid got mad and set his shoe on fire to prove a point

- Also at orientation like??? My roommate disappeared???? And I never saw her again???

- Listen like…this campus just looked like the perfect setting for a horror film, but none of the people from the area got that. They all thought I was crazy until some comic from Comedy Central did a stand up act and said “Why the hell is this campus so creepy? I feel like I’m gonna leave here with someone else wearing my face!”. I felt way too validated.

- ALL OF MY CLASSES WERE SO FAKE

- My “math” class was actually a disguised home ec. course???? All we had were word problems that were incredibly detailed recipes or instructions on how to fix things. The teacher, who I swear to GOD was actually my Mr-Rogers-Wannabe guidance counselor from high school in disguise, spent more time trying to come up with names and backstories for the models in the text book than actually trying to teach

- I had to take a class called “first year seminar” because neither of my parents went to college. It was supposed to be teaching you about how the school works and stuff but SUPRISE BITCH WE’RE JUST GONNA YELL ABOUT RACISM AND PRIVELGE FOR AN HOUR.

- Literally that’s all we did. Just the whole class bonding over all these struggles we had gone through and getting fired up. Like, it was great, but I also ended up knowing very little about campus and school stuff bc that was the class that was supposed to be teaching me lmao

- My Psych teacher was fucking hysterical for the first few classes but then he just. Vanished. I had to drop the class

- My Fine Arts teacher just. Couldn’t stick to a teaching plan. Her entire wardrobe was scarves. She was very passionate about African masks. She had a flapper haircut. She spoke quietly, but with a marvelously forced tone of voice that I’m certain was her trying to sound impressive and hide a Boston accent. She didn’t seem to understand the year was 2014. She took us into the city to go to the Art Museum and we lost her in there, never to be seen again

- I’m not even kidding

- My “writing” teacher was my absolute fav omfg. She was this long grey haired hippie lady who worked as a nurse for the Grateful Dead and was still stuck there. She may or may not have hooked up with my uncle. I was her favorite student because one day I came in wearing a “HAIR” shirt. She wanted to take the class to England for the sole purpose of going on a Beatles tour

- But like…she did not teach a writing class omfg. She taught a social justice class. All we did was have informed debates about The Issues and listen to music and occasionally watch the Breakfast Club. Every time there was a big paper due on the syllabus, she’d just sit on her desk and go “I mean, I don’t have to cover anything, right? You guys know how to write!” Like I genuinely don’t think she knew what class she was teaching

- There was a boy who sat next to me in that class. He was deaf in one ear and used that as an excuse when he got caught blatantly not paying attention. It worked every time. But I was right next to him. I saw him playing Yu-Gi-Oh on some website on his phone under the table. One time we started talking about model cars and he pre-cummed.

- There was a boy who roamed the campus in a long black trench coat and a weird hat. I never saw his body and started to suspect he might not have one, just the theory of one. He took interest in me because I was the only person in class who ever got his Doctor Who jokes. He’d come up to me at dinner and blast quiz me on various nerd culture before running off and disappearing into the shadows. Just as I was starting to grudgingly accept I was probably going to have to eventually hook up with him for the greater good, I apparently offended him by saying I like Picard more than Kirk. He didn’t stick around to listen to my reasoning. Whenever I saw him after that he would loudly start talking about how great his girlfriend was. Everyone knew he was lying. I wonder if Kirk ever sucked his theoretical dick as well as I would have.

- I gave a football player a shout out on Yik Yak. He really appreciated it, and gave me some fries laced with weed as a thanks. That was such A Night ™ , I watched the Lorax and left the dimension.

- Every time we had dances, this creepy guy named Horace would find me and use my obvious discomfort to make me dance with him. He’d hold my wrists and shove his crotch on mine while vaguely swaying to the beat. I had to escape to the bathroom every few minutes. Finally the security just banned him from the events altogether. I can still see his face clearly in my mind.

- One night, I walked into the bathroom to find a perfect, untouched pizza laying on the floor…but not in a box. Someone literally just took it out of the box and laid it down. I’m still fuming.

- One time I was in the mostly empty library when I smelled something. I walked down the rows of shelves before rounding the corner, and found the President of the college hidden there, sitting on the floor, smoking, a bottle of vodka in his hands. We held eye contact for a solid minute. He slowly shook his head at me. I said “Sir, your house is like…literally across the street.” He shook his head more vigorously. I left the library.

- One night, I heard screaming. I looked out the window to find a girl in a giraffe costume scaling my building. People were throwing water bottles at her. I was concerned. I didn’t know who to talk to for answers.

- I was in line trying to pay for dinner. One of the lunch ladies climbed on top of the ice cream machine and refused to come down. Her friend came over and they started recreating the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet. Very few people acknowledged it.

- Someone jacked up the soda dispenser so it was only dispensing beer. None of the staff cared enough to fix it.

- I caught my RA in the middle of a drug deal so she gave me a coupon for free ice cream

- Also side note: The soft served ice cream machine on campus was actually a frozen yogurt machine. I had no problem with that, but like, advertise correctly, you know? Nobody else seemed to understand my confusion. Nobody else seemed to understand that froyo and ice cream are two different things. What the hell.

- There were just…so many moths all over the campus. A terrifying amount. When it started getting colder I was like, finally, I won’t be attacked by moths anymore! Only for even more moths to appear. I asked a local about it. “Oh, those are the winter moths!” What the fuck are winter moths? What the fuck, Massachusetts? My friend back home grew convinced that Mothman was in the area. I was inclined to believe her. Sometimes I close my eyes and all I can see are moths everywhere, waiting for the moment to strike.

-  I’ve encountered deer many times in my life. I know how they act around people. But the deer on this campus were just weird. They’d run out at people all the time. One almost shoved me into traffic.

- My roommate gave my phone number out to literally anyone she found who mentioned they liked to read or liked Doctor Who. She was concerned I had no friends. No one ever called.

- I met a small Greek girl in my Fine Arts class. Our first day of talking, she made me climb a mountain with her so she could get to tutoring, even though I had no reason to be in that building. Her roommates kept mysteriously disappearing. She was late to everything. She’d call me randomly to get food at 1 in the morning. She kept somehow breaking phones and tvs and other electronics. When I asked her how they kept breaking, she waved it off with “Oh, I have OCD. You wouldn’t understand”. I have OCD, and I still don’t understand. One time she invited me out with her friends from high school. I waited outside her building for two hours, while the other friends waited in the parking lot for two hours, because we didn’t know how to find each other. She eventually came outside at 10:30 pm. We went to Friendly’s. She made us stop at her house so she could grab something. We pulled up a long, winding driveway and stopped in a parking lot. At the end of the parking lot were stone stairs that lead up to a mansion on a hill. She ran inside and the rest of us stayed in the car, listening to High School Musical and talking about Supernatural. When she came out 40 minutes later we decided to try and prank her. It went wrong. We almost ran over her friend’s sister with the car. They invited me to a pumpkin patch. When I started complaining about my roommate, she asked me to move in with her. I thought about the other three girls who had seemingly gone missing. I politely declined. Six months after I left the school, I received a text from her asking for notes for an exam, and radio silence after that. I can’t find her on facebook. I fear she might have gone missing too.

- One night, as I was standing outside huddled in the cold, a boy came up and offered me a cigarette to help me stay warm. I turned it down, but he stood around talking to me for a few minutes afterwards. I felt absolutely no awkwardness at all. He was a musician from Colorado. He sang a bit of one of his songs. He was dropping out of school to go to California the next week. He told me I had beautiful eyes, but his were the most alive eyes I’ve ever seen so I couldn’t believe the compliment. We talked for about ten minutes and I fell a little bit in love. He had to rush off to a club meeting, but he told me he’d rather keep talking. He gave me the sweetest smile before he left. I didn’t get his last name or number and I never saw him again.

- There was a dance on Halloween. I couldn’t think of a sufficiently slutty yet classy costume, so I just went as Osgood from Doctor Who. When I got there there was a huge crowd, but people quickly grew bored and started leaving. There ended up being six people left (myself included). We stayed because we could see the upset faces of everyone who had planned the event, but actually had one of the most fun nights of my life. We- myself, the girl from across the hall, Trench Coat Boy, his tiny friend who never spoke, and a boy and girl I didn’t know who seemed to be professional dancers- danced nonstop for almost three hours. The strobe lights and poppy music solidified an unspoken bond. I had never and to this day haven’t felt as free as I did that night. The tiny quiet boy’s smile could have lit up a city. It’s etched into my mind. We all left the dance talking about the surreal feeling in the air, as if something had shifted. None of us ever mentioned the dance again. It’s still one of my fondest memories.

- For a solid month, there was someone in a gorilla costume running around campus.

- There was a rash of sexual assaults on campus. A gang of boys kept jumping girls in the woods. The only thing the school board did was give out free rape whistles at lunch one day. I missed that day, making me one of the only students on campus without a whistle. Later that night when I ordered pizza, the delivery guy tried to start up a conversation with me about all the assaults. He blamed the girls. I took back my tip.

- Sometimes the showers just…filled up with black sludge. No one knew why.

- The girls in the room next to me were very bizarre. They always shot me odd looks and whispered to each other constantly. I couldn’t figure out if they were sleeping together or not. They never washed their hands when we were in the bathroom.

- The doors to each dorm were thick and heavy and required effort to push them open. My roommate and I made sure to lock ours every night, and would triple check it. It swung open by itself almost every night. The channels on the tv would change with the remote equidistance away from us. Sometimes I heard humming in the showers when I was the only one in there.

- My roommate…deserves a whole separate post dedicated to her, honestly.

- She would call her mother and have her do her homework for her. She blasted music constantly, and it was either country or hard rap, nothing in between. She sexiled me constantly. I once walked in on anal. She’d meet guys on Tinder, fall in love with them after a couple of days, and then bring them into the school and into our room like it was no big deal. One of them made it clear he was a budding serial killer. She was in a new drama every week. One time someone called her a dilf on Yik Yak. She was firmly convinced her cousin was blonde because her aunt dyed her hair when she was pregnant. She tried her hardest to get me laid by a football player. She was the loudest drunk I’ve ever encountered. Honestly there’s just too much about her for this omfg

- John Zaffis, the famous paranormal researcher, came to the school on my birthday. I went because I’m a loser who’s been watching shows with him since I was a kid, and I was having a bad day so I decided it could be a treat. I sat in the front row. He held an uncomfortable amount of eye contact with me the entire presentation. He was impressed with my questions. He lamented about the fact he’s always cut out of movies or replaced by priests that look like him. He apparently came to the school every year around Halloween to do a ghost tour around the campus for the students. A girl allegedly killed herself in my floor’s bathroom. He apparently always got a lot of activity around the campus. Everyone in the freshman class started wondering if the rumors about the Native American burial ground were true.

- One time in “writing” class the teacher gave us a number and then whatever song came up as that when we put our music on shuffle we had to play for the class. I ended up with “Touch Me” from Spring Awakening. Midway through the song, the teacher from another class came to complain that they could hear everything. My teacher tried to defend that all music has an important message. “Molly, dear, tell her the message in this song!” I looked around the room and at the other teacher. “It’s about sex,” I said quietly. She stormed out of the room while the class started laughing.

- There was this girl that just had the natural ability to make anything boring. I feel bad saying that, because she’s such a sweet girl, and she’s smart, and she’s gorgeous, and she’s talented, but just…every time she says anything, it’s boring. I’m still friends with her on facebook, the talent transcends to writing as well. You could be having a fun, lively conversation and she could say something completely relevant to the point and yet it would still just be boring. It’s a baffling talent, I still don’t understand how she does it.

- There was a boy who’d come into my room. He lusted over my s’mores poptarts. He kept trying to hit the high notes in Broadway songs. He didn’t understand my sense of humor at all, so we both were constantly worried we were offending each other. He cried about Selena Gomez a lot.

- The dining hall only offered horrendous food. I had pasta almost every night because it was the only thing remotely edible. If you wanted good food, you had to go to Late Night, which was between like 10:30 and 1 I think??? They set it up specifically for stoners and people leaving parties. I was frequently the only sober person there. Except for the moths.

- The chief at the pasta place found out I like theater and got like…weirdly passionate about it. He kept telling me about different theater groups in the area and wanted to know if I was in the school musical. He asked me every time I went up for food.

- There was a disproportionate amount of large black birds to trees. It wasn’t hard to figure out why we so rarely saw smaller animals

- When I told my advisor I was thinking about leaving (mostly for financial reasons but also the fake classes were preventing me from getting an education I wanted, you know?), this little old man looked around his office as if checking for people listening in, then put his hand on top of mine, leaned in close, and whispered “Oh, you sweet little girl. Run as fast as you can.”

There’s definitely more but listen. This school was weird and fake and vaguely surreal and off-kilter. I am fully afraid that one day, years from now, I’m going to be driving through the back roads and pass the place where the campus should be, only I won’t find anything there at all, and won’t be able to find any trace of it ever existing. I won’t be able to find any record of it. I won’t be able to find a record of any of the people. Every time I think about this place I just get a weird feeling, like I somehow managed to escape the Twilight Zone but left a part of me behind in the process. Be careful when applying to college, kids.

you guys asked for part three, so TADA!! this is part of my peter & michelle headcanon, and here you can find part 1 and part 2!

  • michelle doesn’t bring up the day to peter right away because she just doesn’t know how
  • in her books, the girls always talk to their friends about boys, but michelle’s only friends are the boy and well…ned
  • basically,  michelle is on her own for this one and since she has no other way of deciding how to handle these…feelings…she starts to do some research
  • the next time she’s at the bookstore she finds herself in the teen romance section and she reads a few here and there
  • most of them are cringe worthy and cheesy but maybe…that’s a good thing
  • maybe it’d be nice for peter to hold her hand and to kiss her on the forehead in central park and to just be her person
  • but there’s one problem
  • peter is spiderman, the most abnormal and most famous superhero in new york
  • a relationship would be the last thing on his mind, and it should be on michelle’s too
  • this isn’t like her, she’s reading romance novels instead of ones about the zombie apocalypse for goodness sake
  • but since that day in her room, peter has maintained constant communication with her
  • he texts her every night when he gets back from being the friendly neighborhood spiderman, and sometimes he even texts her after he saves a cat or stops a bank robbery
  • and not that she asked ned or anything…but peter definitely texts her more often than he texts him
  • peter catches on to her sudden change in reading genre’s one day at lunch when michelle finds herself reading yet another teen romance novel
  • he leans his head over the book to see her face, which puts them very, very close together and michelle has to remember to breathe
  • peter gets a confused look on his face and asks “since when do you read cute romance books?”
  • and michelle panics
  • what if he figures it out? he’s spiderman he’s not stupid
  • but there’s no way he could ever figure it out, but she can’t take that chance.
  • she slams the book down before grabbing her backpack and standing up. “god peter! it’s none of your business!” and she snatches the book and rushes off, leaving peter and ned and their shocked faces behind.
  • she probably just made everything worse, but she just had to get out of there.
  • that night, she takes all the romance books she’s collected over the last month and starts stuffing them in an old box of stuffed animals. this was stupid. there’s no way anything could ever happen with peter and she’s only falling harder and-
  • her phone rings
  • peter.
  • her voice cracks when she answers and she knows she’s going to cry the second she hangs up but he can’t think something is wrong, he can’t. she musters up all the courage she has and says, “hello?”
  • “MJ, open the window.”
  • she knows she can’t tell him to go away, so she hangs up and tosses the phone on her bed before going to her window and tugging the curtains back. sure enough, peter is sitting on the fire escape in his spidey suit, the mask in his hand again.
  • now she’s definitely going to cry.
  • she opens the window just a crack, just enough so they could hear each other but that she’s still keeping a wall up. literally.
  • “what’s up?” she tries her best to remain nonchalant. peter raises his eyebrows when she doesn’t open the window more.
  • “why’d you snap at me?”
  • “i didn’t snap at you.”
  • “you literally snapped your book closed. my head was right there. you literally snapped at me.” he laughs again and michelle feels the butterflies and god dammit girl pull it together
  • “sorry,” she shrugs. “i’m fine.”
  • peter leans forward and opens the window all the way, causing her to stand up off her window seat. he holds his hand out.
  • “what are you doing?”
  • “come on,” peter gives her an adorable puppy grin and she’s about to fly straight up to the moon from these butterflies in her stomach.
  • “…no…it’s…cold,” she tries her best to keep elaborating but peter reaches behind him and tosses a sweater at her.
  • his sweatshirt.
  • oh
  • my
  • god.
  • “you can’t hide from me, MJ. now come on,” he looks so sincere and michelle doesn’t want to make him feel even more confused so she stuffs her feet into her converse and tugs the sweatshirt over her head. peter helps her onto the fire escape and they close the window, making sure it stays unlocked so michelle can climb back in later.
  • “so are we just going to talk on the fire escape or?” she asks, crossing her arms in the hoodie. though she and peter are similar heights, the hoodie feels big on her, and it’s probably since becoming spiderman peter has the muscles of a greek god in her eyes, but she’d never admit that
  • peter laughs again, shaking his head. “i got a better idea,” he says and he pulls her towards him, using an arm to wrap around her waist. he uses his other arm to put hers around his neck and michelle locks her hands together and she’s sure she’s shaking and she’s about to ask to forget this and go inside when suddenly peter is webbing the building across the street and they’re flying and she’s screaming and he’s laughing and it’s the most surreal feeling in the entire world
  • thank god she’s not scared of heights
  • they stop a few blocks over on a rooftop and peter makes sure she’s on her feet before he lets her go and now she’s definitely shaking but this is so cool
  • “the empire state building!” she points in the distance. “hey, you climbed pretty well in DC i bet you could do that.”
  • “i’ll pass,” peter shakes his head. they end up sitting close together, it’s not cold outside but it’s not warm either and michelle really wants to put her head on his shoulder but instead she settles for making sweater paws from his hoodie.
  • “you know, every time i save someone, i don’t even know who they are,” he starts talking out of the blue. “and every time i find myself thinking, ‘thank god it’s not aunt may or ned.” michelle nods, because it’s obviously ned and aunt may are the two most important people in his life.
  • “and then lately, i started to think…” he trails off and michelle nudges his foot with hers.
  • “think what?” but he shakes his head so she kicks his foot harder and he kicks back and eventually after going back and forth michelle swings her legs over his just so he stops kicking her.
  • that’s the only reason. she swears. they’re next to each other, her legs across his, and she doesn’t want to pressure peter because she knows he’ll say liz. liz has been gone for a year, she finished high school in oregon and moved to school in california but peter adored her. it had to be her. or maybe tony stark. or maybe even flash? he’s annoying but who knows maybe even-
  • “i started to think thank god it wasn’t you,” peter finally says and michelle whips her head around so fast her glasses nearly get knocked off.
  • “you…you what?”
  • “the hardest part about all of this is that i’m terrified something will happen to the people i care about. that the bad guys will try to hurt you to get to me.”
  • “peter,” she starts, but he shakes his head. he’s clearly on a rant now.
  • “and i hate it because god if something happened to ned, or may, or you, i couldn’t live with that. i couldn’t live without you,” he’s staring at her now, and his eyes are so sincere and the moonlight is right on them like how it’s described in her cheesy romance novels and suddenly she’s lacing her fingers behind his neck again
  • but this time it’s to pull his face to hers and she kisses him
  • and he kisses her back
  • and the butterflies are going crazy and so are the alarms in her head but all that matters is peter is kissing her and everything just feels so damn right in the world
  • he pulls away from her and leans his head on her shoulder and she’s still holding him and he says, “i can’t lose you,”
  • “you won’t,” and she knows she means it because if someone ever tried to harm peter or take him from her the world would implode she’s sure of it
  • peter sits up and brushes the hair behind her ear that fell out of her ponytail. “it’s too risky.”
  • “and? peter when have you and i ever done anything remotely normal? especially you,” she narrows her eyes and he nods because she does have a point.
  • he reaches across and grabs her hand. “just…don’t leave me. please?”
  • she’s never been so sure of anything in her life when she goes to kiss him again, but before she does she tells him “never.”
  • and when peter drops her back off and helps her through the window, he says goodnight and kisses her on the forehead.
  • and after he’s gone, michelle takes the romance books out of the box
  • because hey, maybe the books weren’t too cheesy after all

You kept your eyes glued to the TV screen, and never once dared to look at the windows in case you caught the neon flashes. Clutching your mug of tea in one hand, you used the other to tighten the blanket around your shoulders. You hoped that a warm beverage would help you relax, but so far there wasn’t too much success.

Bruce stood at the top of an old, abandoned building, his eyes scanning the streets of Gotham City. He thought it was just going to be another normal night of patrolling. Maybe he’d run across a dirty criminal, but he certainly didn’t expect to see you - his daughter.

And he especially didn’t expect to see you kissing the infamous Harley Quinn.

Harley’s arm was thrown around your shoulder, and she had planted a kiss on your cheek, leaving a smear of red lipstick. You were laughing and stumbling together, clearly drunk. Your arm had your arm slid around her waist, and your hand found it’s way to her back pocket.

Bruce’s eyes were practically popping out of his head by the time Harley placed a sloppy kiss on your lips. His hands balled into fists. What the hell?! He knew you were dating a Harley, but he never expected it to be the Harley Quinn.

He continued to stare down at you and your girlfriend, until Harley’s eyes travelled up to the roof of the building Bruce was standing on. Suddenly, a large smile broke out across her face, and she nudged you in the shoulder.

“Y/N, look!” She pointed up at the roof. “It’s Batsy!” She waved, laughter bubbling out of her throat. “Hi, Batsy! How you doing up there? Catching criminals?”

Your eyes widened as you made awkward eye contact with your father. His eyes were filled with anger, and you knew that you were going to get an angry talking to from your father later on. And Bruce knew that, too.

A knock sounded on the door. Wade Wilson was on his feet and pirouetted his way to the door in a matter of seconds, flinging it wide open.

“Thank Thor (or Loki)! I was about to starve!

The kid at the door looked on, vaguely unimpressed at Wade’s antics. “Are you the mister Pool comma Dead who ordered a large, uh… pineapple olive, large anchovy mushroom, and large special order of four cheese with… mozzarella sticks as the topping?” he recited the order in a bored drawl, but there was a hint of judgement in his tone. So Wade liked his pizzas with a bit of zest and creativity. Was it a crime? Part of Wade hoped it was, how thrilling would it be to live on the run from the cops for daring to order a pizza outside the conventional system? It would make a great movie! He should write it, he could make millions-

“I’m taking that as a yes,” Pizza kid said, clearing his throat loudly. “If you could maybe pay for these, I gotta get going.” He shifted the pizzas in his grip with a peeved look on his face.

Okay, rude. It’s not like Wade had made him stand there for… Wade checked his watch. Oh. Nearly five minutes. Okay, maybe he’d been dissociating a bit longer than he realized. “My bad,” Wade said, reaching for his wallet, “what do I owe ya for, pretty boy?”

Liam Dunbar Imagine-Heartbroken

Request- Hey, I just found your blog and I must say…I’m in love with your writing! 💕😍 I wanted to ask if you could do an imagine where the reader also is a werewolf but more powerful than the others. She doesn’t find out about it until she get’s her heart broken by Liam because of Hayden. She joins Theo and wrecks havoc. In the end she realizes what she did and runs away. Maybe she goes to London to live with her brother Jackson? Thank you! 💕

Author’s note- Aw Thank you so much, I’m glad you like it here. I changed the ending slightly because I got carried away. But your request is my command, enjoy x

You stood, half-listening to the pack meeting. You stared down at the ground, wanting to look everywhere but up. It hurt- a little. You and Liam were, until recently, dating and it was intense- well for you anyway. You ignored Lydia when she warned you about dating a friend, she warned you of how bad things could get, but you didn’t want to hear it. So here you now are, trying to avoid eye-contact with anything but the carpet. Everything was so much brighter when you had someone to love you. First your brother left you, after turning into a werewolf. Now Liam, after falling in love with someone else. They had history together, and sometimes that’s something you can never replace. It was inevitable that the more time they spent together, the quicker they fell for one another. You were the spare part, the fill in, before someone better came along. And that made you feel like shit. “As long as we stick together, none of us will get hurt” Scott finished. Ironically you looked up, seeing Liam with his arm around Hayden. She was smiling at him sweetly, causing an eye-roll on your behalf.  “We’ll meet tomorrow then?” Stiles finished, after noticing your clear discomfort. You all grumbled in agreement, before disbursing. You walked away with Lydia, picking a corner of the room to stand in. “It’s not fair on you, you shouldn’t have to watch that, them.” Lydia said, sounding as frustrated as you felt. “Lyds, I’m fine. I don’t care” your voice cracked during that last part. “I may not have wolf chemo senses, but I know you’re anything but fine” she said, sympathetically. Your hearing then unintentionally focused on Liam. He was with Hayden and Mason. They were all laughing, that type of laugh that makes your stomach hurt because you cant stop. A small, animalistic sob escaped your lips. The type your dog makes, when you leave the room for more than a minute. “Did you just-?” Lydia began asking, drawing her attention back to you. “What? No. I don’t think-” you interrupted quickly, surprised yourself. Lydia looked at you quizzically, to which you simply shrugged, biting your lip.

You were on your way home, when you chest began to feel heavy. No one, not even you realised how much you were truly hurting. You grew used to crying in the shower, so no one could hear you. You grew used to waiting for everyone to fall asleep, before you could break. You knew exactly what it felt like, to want all the hurt and pain to just stop altogether. Everything seemed to hit you all a once, your emotional pain turned physical. Your legs felt weak and you breath became unsteady. You slowly brought yourself to sit on the side of the road. Every thought of Liam and Hayden, every bit of sadness, every bit of pain played on your mind in that moment. It hurt to know that things would never be the same again. You wiped your tears with your sleeve. Things were only getting worse and you were so broken. “Stop crying” you kept repeating to yourself, covering your mouth with your hands. The longer you hold on, the more numb you become and that is exactly how you were beginning to feel. The loneliest part in someone’s life, is when they watch their whole world fall apart- and all they can do is stare blankly. You had been sad for so long, that your tears simply dried up and all you felt was the emptiness inside of you. You felt numb. It was like someone turned a switch inside of you. The girl that once cared way too much about everyone and anything, no longer cared at all.

“Y/n!” a voice called, approaching you. They placed their hand on your shoulder, feeling how ice cold you were. They squatted beside you, shaking their hand in front of your face, noticing just how unresponsive you were. You had been sitting in the street for god knows how long, accepting the new you. You eventually looked up at them. “You’re freezing, take this” they offered, handing you their jacket. “You don’t have to pretend to be concerned Theo, everyone knows you’re a power hungry sociopath” you retort. He tilted his head, shocked, confused and amused by your response. “Where did that come from?” he asked, smirking. “The new me” you responded, standing up. “The new and improved you” he corrected, intrigued by the sudden transition. “Whatever” you rolled your eyes and began to walk away. “Y/n, wait” he said, grabbing your shoulder. You turned around, your eyes glowing a light purple rather than the usual beta gold. Theo was surprised to say the least, he had heard the dread doctors talk about that once before. There’s a rare type of werewolf, a more powerful type. They get their power from cutting off their humanity, something you had began doing. He however concealed his reaction, not wanting you to realise and run to your friends for help. “Listen, Hayden abandoned my pack and took Liam from you. I’d say joining my pack would get revenge on both of them” he claimed. “I know you’re just trying to manipulate me-” you paused, considering the pros and cons. “But I really have nothing to lose” you answered. Theo smirked once more, excited by the newest and most powerful addition to his pack.

Morning came. You had been up all night, listening to the schemes Theo had set in place. “You might want to sleep for a bit, busy night” Tracy grinned sinisterly. “I don’t need sleep, what I need is for you to fuck off” you retaliated. There was no need for that, even though you had been fighting her for last few weeks with the pack. “We’re on the same team now, what’s your problem?” she asked, taking a step closer to you. “Oh please, you’re not even a real supernatural creature. What are you even supposed to be?” you scoffed, looking her up and down. “Ladies” Theo interrupted, standing in-between the pair of you. “Rather she’s out or I am” Tracy held her hands up. You smiled at her, radiating the sense of cocky bitchiness that Theo loved. “No one is dropping out, both of you just need to calm down” he tried to diffuse. As much as he wanted to see you beat the shit out of her, with your new found strength, he wanted you to wait and channel it all that night. She huffed, storming off in the other direction. Theo began talking to you, something about Tracy probably. You however focused your attention behind him. “Y/n!” he said, slightly louder. You drew your attention back to him. “Look, I’ve got to go but I’ll see you tonight” you brushed past him and exited the dread doctor’s lab.

You had lost a lot of humanity, but not enough to turn on all of your friends. Lydia had always been there to guide you, Scott had always been there to protect you, Malia had always been there to cheer you up, Stiles had always been there to talk to and Liam- well fuck Liam. You were on the way back to the lab come nightfall, to tell him you couldn’t go through with it. That was until you walked past a coffee shop on the way there. Your coffee shop. It was a place you and Jackson had gone to ever since you were little, it was your safe place. You had introduced Liam to it, when it became your shared safe place. And there he sat, holding hands across the table with Hayden. He knew how much it meant to you, it was stupid but it was yours. Liam must have smelt your familiar scent, as he turned around to look at the window. You of course, were already half way down the street by then. “I’m ready” you stated, joining Theo and his pack. Your eyes were glowing a slightly darker purple.

The five of you took your positions in the school. “It’s coming” you heard Cory say, from the other side of the building. You retracted your claws and fangs, this time noticing you had two more. Before you could put another thought on that, you felt the vibrations of the beast entering the school. You soon heard the growls and sound of broken school equipment as Tracy attacked it from downstairs, to the sound of Donavan’s radiating electricity. “Wait” you heard Theo whisper from the other end of the hall. The vibrations got louder and bigger, as the beast got closer towards you. You let out an animalistic grow, but before you could do anything someone interrupted. “Y/n” the voice of reason spoke. You turned to see Stiles, opening the doors to the school. “Ignore him” Theo whispered. You let out another growl, as the beast grew closer. “Y/n this isn’t you and this isn’t the way either” Stiles spoke again. You turned to look at him again, feeling the cracks starting to form in your icy persona. “I bet Theo hasn’t told you what you are. A lunar wolf, one that gets their power from hurt an pain” he continued. You simply glanced back at Theo. “It’s not true” he simply retaliated, his heart showing no indication of a lie. “You feel it too. Deaton noticed it months ago, we didn’t tell you because we knew you were already hurting” Stiles justified. “Now!” Theo instructed, as the beast ran towards the three of you. You and Theo charged towards it, taking and giving hits. During the fight you felt the strength build behind every punch, as your eyes grew darker. Until you punched the beast, causing it to growl loudly in pain for the first time. It violently threw you and Theo against the lockers. You slid down them and turned to look to your right. “Stiles!” was all you managed to shout, as the beast charged towards him, but you could see there wasn’t enough time. You stood up and ran, at an inhumane speed and managed to push him to the ground, before the beast ran straight through the wall of the school. You both stopped and breathed for a second. “Thanks” was all he managed to say between gasps. You brushed the broken rubble off the pair of you, and you both dragged yourselves up. “You’re bleeding” he said gently, noticing the large wound on your arm. “I’ll heal” you simply returned, your eyes fading back to their usual colour. He furrowed his brows and ribbed off part of your shirt, before tying it around your arm. “Until it does” he added awkwardly, after noticing your confused facial expression. You smiled and shook your head at him, which caused him to involuntary smile back at you warmly. “Where’s Theo?” Scott suddenly came rushing towards the pair of you. He then stopped for a second, listening to your heart beats and then he looked awkward as if he had walked in on something he shouldn’t have. “Erm he’s over there-” you tried to keep the focus on that. You then all turned to see he was no longer there. “Where did he go?” Stiles asked puzzled. “I think I know” you claimed, pushing past the pair of them, your eyes starting to turn back to a deep purple.

When you got to him, you saw Tracy fall to the ground. You looked to see Donovan also lying lifelessly. Theo must have heard you, as he turned around smirking. You looked to see him wearing glowing claws, the same used against Scott to steal his power. “Is power that worth it to you?” you asked in disgust. “Anyone can be corrupted by power Y/n” he stated amused, walking closer towards you. “When I saw them in the lab I knew you were up to something- and I guess that something was me” you remarked, before growing out your fangs and claws. He attempted to stab you with them, but missed every time. He had drained two people of their lives and power, and yet he was still no where near as strong as you. “You killed your own sister for this, you best make it count” you encouraged. He growled, kicking you and causing you to fall to the ground. He then hovered above you cockily, showing off his new claws. “Your ego was always going to be your downfall” you smiled, kicking him to the ground and getting on top of him. You then ripped the claws he had put on himself and placed them on your own. “Karma really is a bitch” you fake pouted, stabbing them into his stomach.

“Y/n stop” an all too familiar voice spoke from behind you. You glanced at him, your eyes flickering between a dark and light purple. “This isn’t you” he spoke again. “You did this to me!” you stated, digging the claws further into Theo, causing him to groan in pain. “It’s no ones fault- just know that we’re trying to help you” he held his hands up, as he got closer towards you. “You know Liam- I felt so much, that I started to feel nothing” your eyes were still flickering, but remaining longer on dark purple. “And I’m sorry- for hurting you, for everything” he said, edging even closer. “You let me think you loved me, and then left me. What kind of fucked up shit is that?” you continue to pin Theo down. “I know- what I did was wrong. But this isn’t you Y/n. You’re good, like Scott” he claimed. “We fight the same battles, we’re just as bad as he is” you retort. “No we’re not” another voice spoke. Your eyes widened, and your grip automatically weakened. You turned, your eyes a pale purple. “Jackson” you practically whispered. “What are you doing sis?” he simply asked. He used the same tone of voice he did when you were younger, when you would mess up and he would help you through it without your parents ever finding out. You stared at him for a moment, before slowly looking back and realising what you were doing. “I know every physical sense in your body is telling you to kill him, but listen to your heart. The one thing that’s still 100% human” he spoke softly. “I’m sorry” you spoke with a cry, pulling the claws out of Theo’s stomach. He let out another groan and a slight sigh of relief. You stood up and turned around slowly, staring at the blood stained claws. You looked up, just as your brother pulled you into a warm embrace. He then pulled them off you and threw them to the ground. “Come on” he put his arm around you and you walked out of the building, to see your friends. Stiles stood talking to Scott, Malia and Hayden were attempting to duck tape more parts of the jeep and Lydia came towards you in less than a second. You were surprised when she pulled you into a long and desperate hug, which you immediately returned. You then all stood together. “I am so sorry-” you began. “Y/n It’s okay” Scott interrupted, with a sincere smile. You mouthed the words thank you to him, causing him to let out a small laugh. “We’re glad to have you back” Malia beamed. “And we’ll be with you every step of your supernatural way” Lydia added. Liam then slowly joined you all, being met by Hayden practically jumping on him. Stiles put his arm around you and smiled, which you returned. It no longer hurt you like it did. Liam glanced at the pair of you, furrowing his brows in confusion, causing Hayden to get off him. “Can we make a pact?” Mason joined you all out of the blue. “That we will never again split up from each other?” he finished. You all smiled and let out low laughs, before raising your hands to promise. But I guess some promises are not meant to be kept.

Peg’s Flowers (Laurens x Reader)

Words: 2100+

Request:  CAN I HAVE A FLUFFY SOULMATE AU WITH LAURENS!!! WHERE THEY HAVE A TATTOO OF THE FIRST WORDS THEIR OTHER HALF SAYS TO THEM!!!! PRETTY PLEASE MY LOVE! ❤❤❤ @predomina-buna

Warnings: None, just fluff my dudes

A/N: i wrote this in a hour so im hope it’s halfway decent, enjoy! and i havent wrote any soulmates so i hope i did this right??

“Well, you’re pretty beautiful.”

Those were the words on your skin. Those were the words that your soulmate would say to you. Overall, it was quite uncommon to see soul mates together. Most people gave up on the idea, marrying someone other than their soulmate. But you, on the other hand, were determined to find them, whomever they may be. But every time you looked at those words, you worried that you would never find them. That you would never experience seeing and hearing your soulmate for the first time.

And it was killing you.

You worked at a flower shop, across the street from an office building. Some days, you would encounter customers whom worked in that building. A lot of them told you about their jobs, some more than others. As you were unlocking the door to the shop, your boss, Peggy Schuyler, sneaked up behind you.

“Y/N! Why are you coming in so early?” She asked, perky as always. You smiled at her, unlocking the door. You held open the door for her, and she bounced in with you.

“There’s a big order for flowers that came in yesterday. I just have to make sure everything is ready for the delivery.” She nodded, sitting on top of the counter. You rolled your eyes at her, smiling softly.

Peggy was the most energetic boss you’ve ever had. She didn’t seem to be too concerned about sales or anything that seemed too troubling to her. She always called you her boss, saying that this place would not run without you. You didn’t mind, since being around flowers all day was pleasant. As you cleaned up the shop, she grabbed a flower, sniffing it.

“You know, Y/N, you’re amazing. You keep up with this stuff more than I do.” She winked at you, helping you fix up the shop. The hours in the shop were short, opening at 7am and closing at 2 in the afternoon. Honestly, this was the best job you’ve ever had. And she paid you more than what you needed. You even told her that she gave you too much, but she shook her head at you, saying that you were her best employee.

Oh, by the way, you were the only employee.

“Did you go and see your boyfriend yesterday? You were talking about how excited you were to see the movie.” You said, fixing a display. You grabbed the order form, and began filling it. She nodded, giggling.

“Herc brought me to a restaurant afterwards. He’s so sweet.” She has a dreamlike gaze in her eyes, and you smiled at her, feeling a small emotion called jealously full your heart.

Peggy was one of the lucky ones. She bumped into her soulmate on the way to her shop. She almost dropped flowers that she was carrying, but Herc helped her, asking if she was alright. And that’s how they knew. It was a love story unlike any other; they were complete opposites, she was all smiles and laughter, and he was loud and sorry to say, obnoxious. But the look on her eyes when they were together told you that they were meant to be.

“When you get married, you better invite me.” You teased, winking at her. She blushed, putting her face in her hands.

“I’m so nervous, Y/N. What if Mull doesn’t want to marry me? What if this whole thing is a dream and I’m actually a single, lonely Peggy.”

“Trust me, this is real, Peg. And I could tell he’s ready to be with you forever. Did you forget that you were soulmate? You’re meant to be, And the universe picked for the two of you to be together. Don’t worry about it.” She beamed at you, running to the back of the store. You noticed her trip over her feet, but she caught herself, continuing to run to the back.

She’s an interesting woman.

The bell pinged, indicating a customer walking in. You glanced up, seeing a man with straight brown hair walking in. He wore a dark green suit, looking around the shop. You greeted him. “Good morning, sir. How can I help you?” He looked at you, his brown eyes meeting yours. He gave you a warm smile.

“Oh. Hi. I’m just looking for lilies. My wife is kind of stressed, since we have four kids at home. I wanted to give her something to remind her that I love her. And her favorite flower is lilies.” You nodded, guiding him to the white lilies. He smelled the flower, then looked at you. “Do you ever smell anything but plant when you sniff flowers?” You laughed.

“Actually sir, I do. Yes, they do smell like plants. But certain ones have a sweet plant smell that I just love. But yes, plant smell.” He chuckled.

“Can I get two dozen of these?” You raised your eyebrow, and he shrugged. “She’s the love of my life, so there’s no limit for her. Have you met your-“ He glanced at the black tattoo on your arm, and stopped talking. “Sorry.”

“No biggie.” You replied, smiling.

The people who have met their soulmate have their tattoos faded into a light red, still permanently on their skin. You already knew he was telling about his, since you noticed the color peeking out of his sleeve. He smiled sheepishly, scratching the back of his neck.

You took two dozen lilies off the shelf, and as you were packing them, you told him how to care for them properly. You heard Peggy come out of the back, her grin widening when she saw the man. “Alexander!” She squealed, running into his arms. The man, you now knew as Alexander, widened his eyes, and pulled her into his arms.

“Peggy! How are you?”

“I’m well. I thought you knew this was my flower shop? Didn’t Eliza tell you?” He shook his head.

“Eliza told me you owned one, but I didn’t know which. I should have noticed, since it does say Peg’s Flowers.” He joked. She laughed, then glanced at you.

“Oh! This is Y/N, Alex. She’s the manager and my only employee. She pretty much runs this place, I just do the accounting.” She smiled, and Alex held out his hand. You took it, and shook his once. “Without her, I think nothing would get done.”

“Well then, thank you for dealing with Peggy.” He said smiling at you. You shook your head.

“Peggy’s the best boss I’ve had. I’m sure I should be the one thanking her.” As they talked, you packed the flowers, making sure that everything was okay. After you were finished, Alex handed you cash, in which Peggy quickly took away. You raised your eyebrow. “Peggy, that’s two dozen.”

“Anything for my brother-in-law. But if you come back, Alex, you’ll have to pay.” He laughed, shaking his head.

“I’ll pay now. I have no problem with doing so Pegs.”

She refused to let him pay, ushering him out the shop. Once she went into the back, Alexander quickly came back in, handing you the money. You thanked him, giving him the change. He waved bye to you, running out into the day. You continued to fill the big order, finishing just in time for the customer to come in.

You looked up again, seeing a group of men walk in. One was taller than the rest, his curly hair pulled back into a bun. Lafayette.  As he was speaking to his friends, you noticed a distinct accent. There was another almost as tall, wearing a light gray hat and was bulky. Hercules. The shortest one, had a freckled face, his wavy hair pulled back into a ponytail. This was one you didn’t know, so you kept your eye on him. They all wore suits, so you assumed that they were coming from the office building just across the street.

“Good morning, love.” Lafayette said, winking at you. He already found his soulmate as well, the red bright on is dark skin.

“Good morning to you!” You said, smiling. “How can I help you?” You asked.

“We ordered flowers yesterday, for a proposal.” He said. “Well, it’s not mine, it’s this fellow right here.” He pointed at Herc, and Herc winked at you. You rolled your eyes.

Why would you but flowers for your future fiancée at her own shop? “Nice job, Herc. That’s the smartest idea you’ve ever had.” He frowned.

“You know, Y/N, I feel like I sense some sarcasm in your voice. How dare you treat me this rudely.” He crossed his arms in mock anger. You stuck your tongue at him, taking the flowers out of the back. You heard the smaller one talking to the others, and you heard your name in the conversation. You walked back with the flowers, frowning.

“You know, it’s rude to speak about someone when they’re not in the room.” You said to the freckled man, which then, his smile grew, looking at you. His eyes twinkled, and you wondered what his problem was.

“Well, you’re pretty beautiful.”

You almost dropped the flowers in your hand, looking at him. He smiled, showing the words on his forearm. You looked at it, seeing the words that you just said glowing on his. You looked down at your, seeing the words glowing as well. “You’re my soulmate.” You whispered. He smiled, helping you with the flowers in your hands. Your fingers brushed against one another’s, and you felt that spark that people talked about.

“And you’re my soulmate. Nice to meet you, I’m John Laurens.” He placed the flowers in his friend’s hands, holding out his to you. You touched his, feeling the warmth going up your arm. “Wow, so this is how it feels, to finally be with the one.” You noticed that his arm was shaking, probably from his nerves. You didn’t blame him, you were still shocked as well.

“I’m Y/N Y/L/N. Nice to meet you as well.” You replied, smiling shyly at him. You didn’t know why you were so nervous, since he was the person you were supposed to be with for the rest of your days. You heard a laugh from Herc, his grin almost cracking his face.

“Wow, Laurens and Y/N? I should have guessed this before.” You sighed, your hand still in Laurens’s. You took it out, unwillingly. He laughed, touching the back of his neck.

“Do you want to go somewhere?” He asked, “I mean, after work. Do you want to get some coffee?” You nodded.

“I would love that, but I’m paying.” You replied, and he shook his head.

“No, you’re not, I am.”

“Are we having our first argument already, John?” You said, joking in your voice. He laughed, it now becoming the most beautiful melody you’ve ever heard. Lafayette and Herc coughed.

“This is how it feels to be a third wheel? Wow, now I know what Laurens has been talking about,” Herc mumbled, his frown becoming wider once he saw Peggy running out of the back. She jumped in his arms (that’s seems to be her usual greeting), and kissed his lips. Lafayette looked at the flowers in his hand, then back at Laurens and you. You quickly took the flowers away from him, placing it back on the counter.

“Babe!” She squealed as Herc put kisses all over her face. After a couple of seconds of this, you sighed. Laurens looked at you, a warm gleam in his eyes.

“That’ll be us soon enough.” He said, and you blushed. He placed his hand in yours, rubbing it softly. Peggy was finally out of Herc’s arms, and looked at the two of you together. Her eyes widened at the contact, and she leaped happily.

“You and Laurens? I should have guessed!” You smiled at the same phrase that Herc just said, come out of her mouth. She pulled the two of you into a group hug, kissing both of your cheeks. You laughed at her excitement as she pulled away.

“Go and get some coffee! Get anything! I’ll be here to watch the shop, don’t worry. Wait, you know what, take the next few days off. That’ll give you a chance to know each other more!” She said happily, looking at the two of you.

She really was the best boss you’ve ever had.

“Are you sure, Peggy? I don’t want to leave you alone here.” She shook her head, pushing you out the door with Laurens. After she left you two outside, Laurens looked down at you.

“Coffee or Brunch?” He asked, entwining his fingers with yours. You felt a swell of emotion, looking at him. His freckles shined in the morning light, and you hoped soon that you’d be able to memorize how many he actually had.

His smile was contagious, making you break into a grin as well. You bit your lip, looking out into the street.

“Brunch.”

PART ONE

5 minutes turned into 15, and then 30, and finally after waiting an hour, you were done. You hastily threw your napkin onto the clean, unused dishes on the table and stood up from your seat. Your blood was boiling and all you wanted to do was punch the douche you were supposed to go on this date with.

You had gotten yourself prepared for this special occasion. Your body was hairless, moisturized, and glowing in your mid-thigh red dress. Your hair was done without a single hair out of place and your makeup reflected an ethereal goddess. You fit in perfectly in the elegant, upscale restaurant; but the only thing that was missing is your date.

Your head was down as you weaved your way around the tables of other couples and families. Your eyes were glassy and pooling with tears and you so desperately wanted to go home to avoid any further humiliation. This was a train wreck just waiting to happen and you should’ve listened to your best friend, Spencer.

This wasn’t the first date you went on with the same douche. After you explained the whole date to Spencer and how the guy showed up almost 30 minutes late, he advised you not to go out with him again.

Yet here you are, crying your eyes out with your head resting on the steering wheel of your car. This was not how you imagined your night would go, so you decided to go to the one place where you know you would feel better. Spencer’s apartment.

So you drove to the address you knew by heart and hoped Spencer would be home from the BAU. He was always doing something work-related and it was times like these when you wished he had a different job, but you knew that was the only job that fit him and his impossibly high IQ.

It was half past 9 and way too dark for you to actually see where you were going but the tall building where Spencer may or may not be, finally came into view. You parked your car across the street from the entrance and carefully stepped out, careful not to trip over your high strappy black heels.

As you stumbled across the street, your eyes were blurring with tears and rivers of mascara were falling down your cheeks like rivers. You felt bad for the bystanders in the area who could see you. You looked like a ghoul straight out of a horror movie.

You pushed open the doors that enter into the lobby and hurried over to the elevators, trying your best to avoid eye contact with anyone else in the room. You almost reached them, but a hand had stopped you from going any further.
You looked up to see who it was, it wasn’t Spencer.

It was the security guard whom you were now on a first name basis with.

“Paul, can I please go up to see Spencer?” You plead at the tall and burly man.

“Y/N? Is that you?” Paul lets go of your arm and takes a step back to get a clearer look at you.

“Damn girl, I didn’t recognize you under all that scary makeup. I thought you were a demon for a second.”

“I know, I know, it’s bad,” you sniff as you rub at your eyes and cheeks.

“I’m sorry, kid,” he frowns and puts a heavy hand on your shoulder. “Spencer got here about an hour ago. Go talk to him, I’m sure he’s still up.”

“Thank you, Paul,” you solemnly grin as he presses the button on one of the elevators for you. The doors opened with a loud “ding” and you waited until they opened so you could rush inside and let your tears fall. You wasted no time in pressing the floor number and before the doors closed, you waved a goodbye to Paul and he nodded his head at you. You let out a heavy sigh as you let yourself fall back onto the cold metal walls, tears began falling down your face once again. Your love life was hard, it was hard to find a guy who shared mutual feelings with you and when you finally did, he’s a jerk.

The large number at the top of the doors froze and indicated that you arrived at the floor where Spencer’s apartment is. The second the doors opened, you ran out and jogged through the hallway until you reached his front door.

You brought your fist up to the door and knocked a couple times before waiting patiently. In all honesty, you felt bad coming to him at this time. He’s probably exhausted and stressed out enough as it is. You felt guilt wash over you and as you began to walk away from his door, the clicking of locks and a door swinging open made you turn around.

“Y/N? Oh my god,” he says as he takes in your image.

“Spence,” your voice breaks. You run into his open arms and throw your arms around his neck. His long arms encircle around your waist and he uses one to reach up to smooth the hair on the back of your head.

“Shh,” he coos as you cry into the crook of his neck. “Come on, let’s get you inside.”

You nod into his neck and he picks you up in his arms, your head resting against his t-shirt clad chest that for some reason smelt like coffee. That was when you felt your sadness begin to fade away. Just being in his presence made you feel better.

The warmth of his apartment and his body caused the goosebumps on your freezing exposed skin to disappear. It felt almost heavenly the way he strode through the room and lightly set you on his nicely made bed. He picked up one of the many knit blankets he had in his house and laid it across your body.

“I should have listened to you,” you admit to him. “I never should have gone on this stupid date.”

“Hey, it wasn’t your fault,” he frowns and puts your feet on his lap as he sits at the foot of the bed. “Tell me what he did.”

“Well for one, he didn’t show up, at all,” you angrily complain.
Spencer nodded his head as you continued to ramble on about the guy, your love life, and how difficult it was to get a guy. He listened to everything, not interrupting once. You finished your rant with an exasperated sigh.

“I don’t think you should waste your tears on guys like that,” he comments. “You deserve the world, Y/N, and if a man doesn’t give you everything he’s got, then he isn’t worth it.” You didn’t reply, only giving him a lazy smile.

The loss of sleep had caught up to you and you felt yourself slowly beginning to doze off. You felt warm hands wrap around your ankle and you looked over to see Spencer untying the straps of your heels. He undid the ties to both shoes before dropping them onto the floor. The air and release of pressure from the shoes felt euphoric against your swollen feet. You muttered a quiet thank you to Spencer and he chuckled.

“Good night, Y/N,” he says and you feel him stand from the bed. The warmth of his body was gone and all you felt was the lingering heat where he was sitting.

“Spencer, wait,” you call. “Can you stay?” Even though he had already turned off the lights, you could clearly see the blush that crept onto his face.

“I mean, if that’s okay with you,” he stammers.

“I wouldn’t want to be intruding into your personal space or anything.”

“Please,” you ask one last time and he sighs.

“Of course.”

He tip-toes to the other side of the bed before joining you underneath the covers and lying rigidly at your side. You could sense he was nervous and careful not to overstep his boundaries but you didn’t care. You scoot your body closer to his and wrap an arm around his torso and hug him close to you. He took a sharp inhale of breath as your skin made contact with his, a small smile soon appearing on his face. You feel his arm slide under your body and hold you closer to him.

“You know, Spence,” you yawn before continuing. “I don’t know what I’d do without you. You say I deserve the world, but I think you’re the one who really deserves it.”

“I already got it,” he whispers and curls a strand of your hair in his fingers. You couldn’t really process what he said seeing as you were dozing off. Your eyes were fluttering and heavy with sleep, your body felt limp against his, and your feet were pulsating from being in the air restricting heels. You were beyond exhausted and being in Spencer’s arms was really the cherry on top.

But before you slipped into your unconscious, you heard Spencer say one last thing, though you couldn’t make out what it was, so you fell asleep.

***

The next morning you awoke to an empty bed. You felt around for Spencer, but he wasn’t there. You began to think to yourself, maybe it was all a dream, but you swear you could remember how his embrace felt and the look of tranquility on his face. You remember how his sharp features looked so soft in the dark and how badly you just wanted to reach up and touch him.

Ever since you ran into him at the same coffee shop for a year straight, the two of you finally decided to become friends. You went from acquaintances to friends, to best friends, and now you’re almost inseparable. You can’t deny that at one point you started developing feelings but for some reason, you always felt like the two of you would never happen. So you hid those feelings way and hoped they would go away, but every time you saw him, they resurfaced.

His room was dimly lit, the white curtains hanging on each side of the bed were drawn shut. You had thought Spencer would already be the BAU by now, but the sweet smell of pancakes and syrup suddenly filled your nostrils. The heavenly aroma of the food woke you up immediately. You ripped the sheets off your body and stood up from the bed to go investigate but on your way out the room, something wicked catches your eye.

In the reflection of the full-length mirror, you almost look unfamiliar. Your hair was matted and out of place, your makeup was horrifying and smeared, and to make matters worse - you were still wearing the uncomfortable tight red dress. You felt like a wreck and all you wanted to do was shower and the door to Spencer’s bathroom was wide open.

You decided you would take a quick shower and you knew Spencer would be okay with it. This wasn’t the first time you spent the night at his house and you felt right at home doing whatever you desired. Spencer’s apartment was literally a home away from home. The warm and steamy water felt euphoric slapping against your back. You ran your fingers through your long/short hair and sighed contently as the water hit your face.

Once you finished your shower, you went into Spencer’s room to get a change of clothes from your designated drawer. After spending so many nights here, whether accidentally or planned, Spencer suggested you have a designated drawer for yourself whenever that was the case. Thank heavens for that idea.

After changing, you slipped on your fuzzy socks and padded into the kitchen where Spencer was cooking up something delicious.

His back was facing you as he flipped some pancakes while flipping the bacon in the other pan.

“You need help, Chef Reid?” You ask. He whips around and looks at you, cracking you a smile.

“I’m fine,” he retorts. “Go sit down, you’re not lifting a finger, not on my watch.”

“Demanding,” you tease with a laugh but still follow his orders.

You pulled out one of the chairs on the island and waited patiently in your seat until Spencer put an empty plate in front of you and a fresh cup of orange juice.

“After you finish eating, I’m taking you home so you can get dressed,” Spencer announces as he joins you on the island with a plate of pancakes and bacon. You reach over and grab a pancake and a few pieces of bacon and pile them onto your plate.

“How come?” You question curiously, taking a bite from your bacon.

“It’s a surprise,” he admits with a smile.

“Hmm, fine,” you roll your eyes. “How should I dress?”

“Not casual but make sure you’re comfortable.”

“Gotcha,” you wink.

***

Spencer took you to your apartment like promised.

“You’re not coming inside?” You ask.

“No, I’m going to go back home but I will pick you up half past two,” he responds.

“Okay,” you nod with a smile.

As soon as Spencer drives off, you rush into your house and head straight towards your closet.

“Not casual,” you hum to yourself as you observe your selection of clothes.

To your luck, Spencer picked the best day to go out. It was a warm summer day but there was still a refreshing breeze in the air that refrained you from overheating. You began putting outfits together in your mind that would fit whatever Spencer had planned. Knowing him, you know you would not be doing anything wild or that requires a lot of physical effort.

When you finally put the right look together, you stepped in front of your full-length mirror and looked at yourself for the thousandth time in five minutes. You kept asking yourself if this was a date, deep down knowing you wanted it to be.

“He’s just your best friend trying to make you feel better,” you try to convince yourself - but you had a gut feeling that told you otherwise. There was something more than just hanging out with your friend, you can just feel it.

The doorbell ringing throughout your apartment caused to snap out of your daydream. You looked at yourself one more time in the mirror, hoping that you looked presentable.

“Coming!” You yell as you rush over to the door.

When you pulled the door open, you were left flabbergasted as you stared at the man in front of you.

Spencer stood there, his hair more in place than usual, a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to the elbow, some slacks, and his usual converse. In between his hands, he held a bouquet of red and white roses.

“You look amazing,” you both said at the same time causing the two of you to erupt in laughter.

“These are for you,” he says sheepishly, extending the flowers towards you.

“Thank you,” you smile brightly, taking the flowers. “I’m going to go put them in a vase and I’ll be right back.”

As you walked into your kitchen to find a vase, you suddenly realized that this was, in fact, a date. You felt butterflies flutter in your stomach, seeing Spencer in a whole new light. Of course, you have always wondered what it would be like to be in a relationship with this incredible man, but you always pushed it away. Now that it seems he shares your feelings, you can’t help but let your deepest desires surface again. The man of your dreams is standing at your doorstep, waiting for you to join him for a night of adventures.

“What do you mean by you’ve never been to New York?” Peter was gaping at you. “You mean to tell me that you’ve been living here, but you haven’t actually visited the city?” He was waving his arms around as he talked.

You laughed at his reaction and gave him an awkward smile. It was true, you had been living in Stark Tower for the past seven months, but never got around to actually going to the city.

“Well, I don’t get much time off, you know, saving humanity from aliens and crazy people.” You were trying to make up a viable excuse for why. Peter just kept staring at you his mouth hanging wide open. “What?” You started shifting your eyes around the room, having no idea what to do.

“Babe, I know what we’re going to do today.” Peter gave you a goofy grin and ran down the hall, leaving you standing alone in the living room.

“Oh lord, what’s he going to do?” You groaned to yourself. You shook your head, but smiled. He was such a dork. A dork that you had lots of feelings for. You loved him, but you had never said it to him, fearing that he wouldn’t feel the same.

Seven months ago, Tony had asked you to move from the Avenger Tower in D.C. to Stark Tower to go undercover. Your job was to go to Peter’s high school and keep an eye on him for Tony. He was worried that Peter would start getting into trouble, and your job was to keep him out of it. Before you knew it, you were falling hard for him. Tony feared that you would, but allowed you to do so because you were like his daughter, and he loved you like one. All he wanted was to see you happy. So, just two months into your mission, and after spending a lot time together, along with a couple dates, you two became official. And once you started dating him, you realized you had to tell him what your original intentions were.

When you told him, he wasn’t upset. He just kissed you and whispered to you, “My girlfriend is a freaking Avenger.”

An hour later, he cam running in. “F/N! Come on, you’re coming with me.” You were laying on the couch, closing your eyes when he started pulling you off of it.

“Where are we going?” You were giggling and stumbling to follow him. “Peter, I’m serious.” (No, you weren’t.) “Where the heck are you taking me?” You had this marveled look on you face, amazed that he could get you off the couch without becoming overly grumpy.

“You’ll see. Come on.” He looked so adorable as he pulled you along down the stairs and out the door. Once you stepped outside, the quiet of the tower completely disappeared. You were left with the sound of cars, and honking, and people’s pointless conversations. He turned around to face you.

“Ta da! I’m taking you to see the city.” He began to fumble with him hands and look towards the ground. “Since you haven’t been before, and since we haven’t been able to go on a date in a while, I decided that I could show you around.” He looked up at you with those innocent eyes that always made your heart skip a beat.

“Aw, that’s so sweet, Peter.” You face turned a slightly shade of pink darker. You thought he was so cute when he got all nervous. A smile came upon your lips and you hooked your arm in his. “So, where to first?”

He looked up at you with hopeful eyes and smiled. He looked like a little kid on Christmas morning.  You loved making him happy, he made you feel almost like a normal teenager who had an almost normal life. To be frank, you never had a normal life to begin with. You were born with ability to go invisible, and your parents abandoned you at the age of three after they scared you and they suddenly couldn’t see you. They were afraid of you, so they left. You fended for yourself till about two years ago when the Avengers discovered you and your ability, hoping you would join them. You gladly accepted the offer and you realized that you had a family again. They loved you like a younger sibling, but Tony loved you like you were his own daughter. Obviously, being an Avenger and living with them wasn’t normal for anybody, but neither was having spider-like senses.

You two spent the afternoon walking through New York City, checking out all the places Peter loved. He took you to his favorite pizza place for lunch, and then you two took a stroll around Central Park. You stopped at the lake and watched the ducks swim by.

“This is really nice, Peter. Thank you.” You wrapped your arms around his neck and kissed him tenderly.

He put his arms around you and placed a kiss on your forehead. “It’s my pleasure, babe. But, the day isn’t over yet.” He wrapped one of his arms around your waist and you two started walking back towards the street. He took you around street corner after street corner, pointing out places that he wanted to take you in the future, and telling you the fondest memories he had there. After about an hour of walking, he stopped you in front of a brick stoned building.

“Where are we?” You were looking for a sign. There was none. You squinted your eyes, trying to figure out what was inside, but it was lowly lit.

“You’ll see.” He was smirking at you as he took your hand and pulled you inside. Once you were through the door and you finally saw what it was, your eyes went wide and your jaw dropped to the floor. Inside the unsuspecting building was bookshelves stacked to the ceiling with books.

“No. Way.” You were amazed. You dropped his hand and started walking up and down the aisles, mesmerized. You let your fingers graze across the spines, reading every title. They had classics, new books, well loved books, and all your favorite ones too. Peter watched you in adoration. He knew you would like this place. It was the oldest book store in New York, and he knew how much you liked to read. Once you looked through just about every single book in there, you walked up to him with the biggest smile on your face.

“You’re amazing, did you know that? Oh my god, I could spend hours in here. I have to come back another day to read here.” You were beginning to ramble and Peter just shook his head, one corner of his mouth pulling up into a smirk.

“F/N, you’ve already spent two hours just looking at all the books. I’m going to have to bring you back here, so you can spend the entire day here.” He pulled you into a hug. “There’s still one more thing I have to show you before I take you back to the tower. Come on.” You looked up at him with eyes that were filled with love. He leaned down and kissed you, filling your stomach with butterflies. He pulled you out of the bookstore and the sky that was once bright and sunny was now beginning to grow blue. Had you really been in there that long?

“F/N, hold on tight.” He wrapped his left arm tightly around you.

“Wait, wh-” You cut yourself off with a slight scream. Suddenly, you were swinging in the air, swooping from building to building. Your arms were gripping him, very, very tightly. Once the initial shock faded away, you were smiling at Peter as he slowly took you higher and higher off the ground. The cold wind was whipping your hair back, giving you this rush of adrenaline. Peter shot a web at a building, swinging you both up in the air. The next one hit a spire of a different building across the street and he swung around it, you secure in his arm, and making a soft landing on top of the building.

“I give you special view of New York City from the top of the Empire State Building.” He took his free arm and displayed the view to him.

“Oh my god…” The skyline looked beautiful against the sunset and the lights slowly turning on. “…it’s gorgeous.” You shifted yourself in his arms so that you were facing him, bodies pressed against each other.

“Just like you.” Peter’s eyes studied every inch of your face, landing on your E/C eyes that he had fallen in love with. You looked towards the ground, trying to conceal your blush. “F/N.” He tilted your chin up, so that your eyes met his.

“Yes, Peter?” You looked at him with doe eyes, hanging on every single word he had said.

He paused, a small smile coming to his face. “I love you.”

You were stunned. He said it. He said it first. He said that he loved you.

You realized that you were completely silent, seeing that Peter was getting worried. A big smile replaced the shocked look on your face.

“I love you too.” You let out a little laugh and pulled him down to you. Your lips collided, molding perfectly together. The feeling of his lips against yours made your heart swell. You pulled away and rested your head on his chest, watching the sun set behind the horizon.

Peter swung you across the city back to the tower. He nonchalantly landed on the grounded in the middle of the sidewalk in front of Stark Tower.

“I’ll come over tomorrow, okay babe?” He smiled down at you, holding your hand.

“Okay.” You smiled and gave him a peck on the cheek.

“I love you. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“I love you too, Peter Parker.” You watched him fade into the crowd and then round a corner. Suddenly, he was swinging around a building. You shook your head and chuckled, walking back into the building.

You were feeling so giddy. You were spinning around down the halls, humming to yourself.

From his office, Tony heard you and peered out of the doorway, watching you as you walked down the hall, humming with a little skip in your step. Before he got caught, he sat back down at his deck and smiled to himself. You were happy, that’s all that mattered to him. He got back to work, and muttered to himself.

“Peter Parker, you better take of my girl.”

Just had a really cute fic idea but I can't write for shit so it's up to you. So, Dan has these recurring dreams about this cute boy with black hair and light blue eyes. Almost every night the boy shows up and Dans upset when ever it ends because he wants to spend more time with him and get to know him. Until one day, Dans sees him (at like a café or something) and decides to talk to him. You can make the rest up. Idk if this was already made. Sorry if there is any spelling errors.

//uh whoops i was in a mood sorry this is so dramatic o shit //

Dan opened his eyes. His somewhat blurry vision settled on the white ceiling, the lightbulb that hung rather precariously from the ceiling right above his head.

He blinked, trying to collect his thoughts. He had lost him again.

He was more like a vision than an actual person; a ghost in Dan’s head that he couldn’t expel even if he tried. Even if he wanted to try.

Dan sighed, blowing away a strand of brown hair out of his eyes. He lay still, unable to summon the energy to move.

He found himself excited to go to bed every night, he had started falling asleep early after several cups of sweet dreams tea. He just wanted to see him again, whatever it took.

The boy wasn’t directly the center of his dreams. Dan would be dreaming normally, anything from walking the streets of London with his hands shoved in his pockets and his breath evaporating in the air before him like smoke… and he would see him. The boy with dusty ocean eyes, like a swimming pool reflection of the sky. His hair was black, really black, which was a contradiction to the rest of his features. His skin reminded Dan of porcelain; the delicate plates and tea cups that his mum would never let him touch when he was little, because they would shatter at a butterfly wing brushing them, she used to say.

He would just be there. In the back of a crowd or looking through a cafe window, it didn’t matter what the dream was, he was there. Sometimes Dan had to search for him, he had to look for the now familiar sparkling blue eyes and pale fingers. Once he was hiding in a tree, just sitting there, the branches intertwined with his limbs. But when Dan tried to run to him, speak to him, he woke up.

Dan ran his hands over his face and through his hair, listening to the sounds of cars and wind outside his window, and forced himself to sit up. His room was too empty, too white, but when you live by yourself without any real friends it’s hard to motivate yourself to decorate.

He swung his legs off the side of the bed, letting his feet touch the cold wood floor before standing. His legs felt wobbly but he walked over to his window, pulling the grey sweater he had fallen asleep in around him tighter. His legs were cold, and he felt himself regretting wearing only boxers to bed.

The sky was cloudy and drizzly, the window glass dotted with small drops of rain. Everything seemed wet and cold outside his window, tiny ant sized humans scurrying about on the ground, off on their business. Dan smiled, taking a deep breath and tapping the glass with his finger, feeling the cold seep through his skin. It really was his favorite weather.

He stepped lightly over to his mirror, biting his lip and looking himself over. His hair was messy and his eyes glassy; he noted he seemed to be getting a bit too skinny. His oversized sweater draped around him, hanging off his shoulders and exposing his collarbones.

He tried to remember who the boy was in his dream the night before. It was fuzzy, but he faintly recalled a coffee shop, glasses, and a flower decorated button up. The rest was evaporated, somewhere hiding in the back of his mind.

He really needed to get out of the house.

~

It was cold outside, as he expected, but he had prepared. He had changed into a black t-shirt, and put his grey knitted sweater back on, because it was warm and he really didn’t want to pick a different one. On top of it he had pulled on a fluffy black jacket, one that enveloped him in a feeling of warmth and protection from the world. And finally, black jeans.

Dan watched his shoes hit the pavement in a light slapping sound; the wet cobblestones felt hard underfoot, and he couldn’t remember the last time he just went on a walk like this.

People passed him hurriedly left and right, but he took his time. He wasn’t in a rush, he liked the icy sharp air and brisk wind that blew his (still messy and curly from sleep) hair around his face.

His mind was still centered around the blue eyed boy from his dreams, he was always there, in the back of his mind. Because Dan was falling in love with someone who didn’t even exist.

Dan stopped in his tracks, hurdling himself out of his thoughts, freezing in place.

Across the street was a building he had never seen before, which was odd considering he had lived here for a few years. It didn’t have a sign or any distinguishing features, not even a shop name or some form of decoration out front. There was one display window though, but the only thing is it was a cactus and an odd collection of mugs. For some reason it seemed homely, though, and Dan couldn’t help feeling drawn to it.

He looked right and left, rushing across the street and pausing in front of the building. He took a deep breath, pushing open the door and smiling as the bell rang out, all rosy cheeks and smoky breath.

Dan stopped, looking up and meeting the gaze of two beautiful sky blue eyes.

Dan’s heart stopped in his chest, his eyes widening. Him.

He was right there. He was standing behind the counter, a soft smile melted onto his features, black thick rimmed glasses balanced on his nose. His shirt was a navy blue button up, decorated with small pink roses, and suddenly everything came rushing back.

He flashed Dan a smile, going back to trimming a small plant, his tongue poking out the corner of his mouth; his brow furrowed in concentration.

The shop was small but flooded with warmth; there were soft looking sofas and arm chairs scattered around the room as well as coffee tables. There were a few other customers, just going about their business; working on computers or reading thick hard covered novels.

Dan sat at one of the sofas, glancing up at the boy every now and then. His mind was whirling too fast for comprehension, unable to cling to any single conclusion. All Dan knew was it was him, it was the boy who’s face was constantly haunting him, flitting about his thoughts like his own personal playground.

Dan thought of what to do now. He was highly tempted to go right up to that counter, grab him by the shirt and kiss him, never let him escape again. He was also half tempted to shout at him. ‘Why are you here? How do you find it fair to torture me like that, and just disappear every morning?’

Or he could be sane, and just talk to him. Dan shook his head, laughing at himself and pushing himself up from the chair.

The boy looked up when Dan cleared his throat, raising his eyebrows, his eyes crinkling as he smiled widely.

“Hello!” He greeted him happily, his voice as deep and kind as Dan expected. And suddenly he couldn’t speak, his mouth was dry and all thoughts ran from his head.

The boy tilted his head slightly in question, his brow furrowed but the smile still softly plastered to his face.

“Er…” Dan stuttered finally, his voice breaking. “Hi.”

“Hi…” The boy said again, laughing, but it was too light hearted to feel like he was laughing at Dan; he seemed the kind of person to make you feel like he’s always laughing with you, even if you aren’t laughing.

“What is this p-place?” Dan muttered, glancing around. His face lit up.

“It’s my new shop!” He said excitedly, and then shrugged. “Technically my brother’s, but I help too.” He grinned, scratching the back of his neck. “Sorry, we haven’t got a name yet.”

“It’s nice,” Dan blurted, and the boy’s face brightened even more, if it was possible.

“Really? You think so?” He asked eagerly, and then drew back a bit. “Sorry, Martin says I’m far too…” he shrugged, scrunching his face, searching for a word. “…a bit much, for the customers.”

Dan laughed softly. “I think you’re just enough.”

Phil’s eyes twinkled, his grin widening. “Thanks! I thought I was being a bit too eager, I don’t want to scare anyone off.”

Dan licked his lips, his eyes flickering between Phil’s eyes and his lips, frowning.

“Okay, this might sound a bit strange…” Dan began, glancing at his hands. Phil leaned forward on the counter, resting his chin in his hands.

“I love strange.”

Dan chuckled. “I kind of…” he took a deep breath. “I see you in my dreams. Literally every night.”

His eyes widened, and his mouth fell open slightly. “You do?” He asked softly.

Dan nodded.

“Woah,” the boy muttered, standing up straight and gazing off into the distance. “That’s so weird.”

“I know,” Dan said, watching him, still somewhat shocked that he even existed. “Do you know anything about it?”

The boy bit down on his lip, frowning and nodding slowly. “I might. I’ll be right back.”

He rushed off, leaving Dan shocked, standing at the counter with wide eyes.

When he got back he was clutching a book to his chest; a dark blue hard back with tiny gold lettering etched into the cover. He smiled at Dan, holding it out.

“I was just reading this,” he said, leaning forward. “It’s… interesting. And it might have something to do with this.”

Dan nodded. “Alright. Well, thank you.”

“Of course.” Phil grinned, and winked. “See you in your dreams,” he said, giggling and moving to help another customer.

~

Dan opened the book that night, curled up on his couch with a cup of tea.

The inside cover read “Soulmates; a study”. Dan frowned.

There was a slip of paper that fell out of the book when he opened it, fluttering to the ground at Dan’s feet. He picked it up, unfolding it slowly.

“Our universe grants every soul a twin—a reflection of themselves—the kindred spirit – And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other—even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love.” It read, in quotations. And then, below it; “come by again sometime, maybe we can get some coffee :) -Phil Lester”

It occurred to Dan he had never asked his name.

The next day, Dan went back to that street, the one he had seen every day without that damn shop.

He stood in front of the building, his hands shoved in his pockets and his breath puffing in the cold air before him as he stared at where it should be, between a laundry mat and a sushi restaurant.

It was gone.

He never saw Phil again.

~

He read the book, start to finish, in the next month. At the very end, in bold, scribbled in a way that suggested it had been added in, read ; “Even if they never see each other, if they never even meet, they are connected in their hearts and in their souls, and they’ll always find each other.

Even if it’s just in their dreams.”

Coffee

Summary: Bucky is pissed and goes out for some coffee. What he gets helps him feel quite light-hearted.

Pairings: Bucky x reader

Warnings: none, cute stuff

If Monday mornings were bad, sometimes Tuesdays were worse. Especially today.

Bucky was pissed. But not just pissed–he was I-swear-to-God-or-whoever-the-fuck-is-up-there-if-you-even-think-about-looking-at-me-you’re-going-to-wish-you-didn’t pissed.

First, he had barely gotten any sleep–nightmares kept coming back to bite him in the ass and then when he finally got to some semblance of rest, his alarm had gone off. Steve appeared at his door, ready for their early morning run, and Bucky shoved past him with an ominous cloud over his head. Steve knew not to push his buttons as they ran side by side, and the brunette grumbled the entire time, his usually light footsteps seeming to leave dents in his wake.

When he got back to the tower, the sunrise had just peeked over the horizon. He headed to the gym for a workout, to see if he could punch his frustrations out, but it did nothing to calm him as it usually did. Deciding he needed to get some fresh air, he rushed through a shower, pulled on his hat and a sweater and ventured out into the city.

The sun was bright and the day was warm but it did nothing to make him feel any better. He walked for a while until he spotted a small coffee shop on a corner and stepped inside. The aroma hit him immediately and seemed to ease him just the slightest. He stepped up into line behind a young woman who was just finishing up her order.

“…and just a small black tea for me, Kathy.”

“Sure thing, Y/n!” The cashier replied happily, taking her money and fishing for change before grabbing the order. As she handed her the cup, she said, “The rest of it will be at the end of the bar.”

“You’re the best.” Bucky could see the smile on her face as she turned to head to the end of the counter. There seemed to be an easy air around them and it made the tone of the shop all the more friendly.

He stepped up to the counter and was greeted with a smile. “Hi, how can I help you?”

“Can I just get a small coffee?” He said gruffly, trying to keep his tone even. He could feel his aggravation radiating off of himself, and the smallest tinge of guilt hit him for disrupting the easy air in the shop.

“Sure. That’ll be $1.62.” As the cashier went to fill his cup, he felt around in his pockets for his wallet, but he was coming up empty. He looked to the cashier, dread setting in as she simply lifted her brows at him.

“I-I’m sorry,” he said, feeling around a little more frantically in his pockets for something, anything, “I must have, ah…”

“Here.”

A slender arm extended past his face and over the register. Bucky looked to his left and saw the girl that had gone before him handing over two bills to the nameless cashier.

“You don’t–”

“Shh,” she interrupted him, already getting her change and dropping it into the tip jar. She grabbed his cup and handed it to him before he could say another word. “Everyone deserves some free coffee now and then.” She stepped away from him and towards the end of the bar, where another barista was placing finished drinks. Bucky followed her.

He took her in for a minute, examining her as she was putting drinks in a carrier. She was wearing a slender button up, sleeves rolled up to her elbows, and some slim-fitting slacks, even though it was a hot summer day. He then took notice of the full carrier in her hands and wondered just how far she had to go.

“Do you, ah,” he started, catching her attention. She turned her head and he shuffled his feet awkwardly under her pretty gaze, “do you need a hand?”

A hint of a smile graced her lips and his shoulders relaxed. “No, it’s okay. I’m only going across the street.” She tilted her head towards the door and Bucky’s eyes followed, landing on the building right at the corner. “Thank you, though.”

A barista calling her name caught both of their attentions. Bucky watched as the teen handed her a small bag over the counter and bid her goodbye. She gave a “see ya later” and grabbed the full carrier in one hand, her tea and the bag in the other. As she turned to leave, their eyes met once more and she gave Bucky a meek smile.

Bh-bump.

It took him a split second to recover as he beat her to the door to open it for her. He stepped out and brought the door with him, and she gave him another smile and “thank you” as she passed. He let it go just after someone else stepped inside, and he hesitated. The sign across the street just lit up with the small yellow man, and she took a step forward.

“Y/n!”

He heard himself say it before the thought even registered in his mind. The girl turned to look at him, and he swears that he saw something like hope twinkle in her eyes.

He swallowed the small lump in his throat and took a leap of faith. “At least let me pay you back for the coffee.”

She smiled, just barely showing the front of her teeth, and relief flooded through him. “Okay. Here, tomorrow. Nine a.m.”

A smile cracked his face. “It’s a date.”

She laughed lightly, freely, as she turned and started to walk across the street. She only turned around again as she opened the door of the building right on the corner, giving him another smile before disappearing inside.

Suddenly, he didn’t feel so angry anymore.

The Joker x Reader - “I Love You”

You never miss a chance to say the magic words to him. The Joker doesn’t want to hear about it but you are not the one to give up so easily. Actually… I guess anybody can back down if pushed enough.

– During an important meeting with new business partners, Frost interrupts and brings in a little envelope to J, whispering you said it is absolutely urgent and imperative he opens it right away. The Joker wonders what the hell it might be, opens the letter and shakes it to take out the contents when a bunch of pink glitter flies all over along with your message on  a piece of paper: “I LOVE YOU.” The other guys fake cough, attempting to pretend they didn’t see crap while The Clown Prince of Crime gives them an icy glance, annoyed with your stunt:

“If I hear a single sound, I swear you’re all dead!!!!”

Goddammit woman, stop your shit! he thinks biting on his cheek, dusting off the sparkly dust off his shirt, but stashing your little note in his pocket.

– You are away on a mission for 2 days when his cell suddenly goes off at 1 AM, letting him now he has a new message. He is more than cranky he got woken up and checks to see what it is. A text from you: “ I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU.”

You must be kidding me! J growls, pissed you bothered him with such nonsense but saves the message in his drafts and goes back to sleep.

– One night he visits the club without you and gets out of his Lamborghini when the phone beeps.

What is it, the stupid words again?!  he scoffs when he sees your name on the screen.

“Look up!” the text simply says and he does, noticing the huge light up message on the top of the building across the street; “I LOVE YOU.”

This is getting beyond ridiculous, The Joker huffs but takes a picture of what you did and saves it in his favorites.

– After taking a shower in the morning, J goes in the front of the sink to brush his teeth and finally gazes at the mirror. There it is, written with red lipstick: “I LOVE YOU.”

He rolls his eyes, fed up with your behavior and erases the words, not before that wide smirk creeps up on his lips. He hears you giggle and goes back to frowning:

“Cut it out, Y/N!!!”

– You bring the white mocha to his office and place it right on top of his papers. J stares at it for a few seconds and sighs, lifting his blue eyes from the cup, complaining about what you wrote with foam: “I LOVE YOU.”

“Are you done with this rubbish, Princess?” he mutters while you just innocently lift your shoulders up, not answering. “Bring me another mocha and NO FUNNY BUSINESS, understand?”

You pout, disappointed he never appreciates your efforts and by the time you are back with his new coffee The Joker already finished the other cup.

“What?” he snarls when notices your smile. “Don’t get it to your head, Doll, I really couldn’t wait any longer so I had to drink it; you’re so slow!” he makes sure to admonish but kisses your wrist when you hand him the mug.

–During a heist you go with a few henchmen on the upper floor while he stays down with the rest, looking around for the diamonds and gold. You go behind a wall and dial his number. He picks up after 3 rings and you just say; “I LOVE YOU,” and hang up.

Really?! The Joker mumbles, astonished at your unprofessional conduct (that’s how he likes to call it). He simply texts back: “Shut up, Y/N!”

And… he asked for it when your reply pops up on the screen: ““ I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU.”

I totally can’t stand her; she really drives me nuts, he concludes, irked at your game, but saves this message in drafts too.

– J wakes up and his feet touch something cold and pretty sharp when he gets out of bed. You got him a ton of gold chains and arranged them on the floor to spell “I LOVE YOU.” His mouth opens on amazement, considering chocking the life out of you at this point. Your green haired boyfriend kicks the chains all over the place, mad again, but not before taking a picture of your accomplishment and saving it in his favorites. He hears you snicker.

“I said cut it out, Y/N!!!!”

– “Bubble bath is readyyyyyy,” you announce, proud of the nice evening you planned for the two of you.

J comes in, taking his clothes off, suspiciously scrutinizing the bathroom.

“Any hidden ‘I love you’ anywhere?” he smacks his lips, warning you he’s not going to tolerate your actions anymore. He had such a shitty day it’s not even funny.

“Nope,” you confidently declare, moving back in the Jacuzzi so he can sit by you.“Nothing at all, baby.” He’s starting to relax when you massage his shoulders, then lean over and kiss his neck, whispering: “I LOVE YOU.”

“That’s it !!!” he splashes all over, angered at your little stupid plan to squeeze in those stupid words again. “Quit bothering me, you pain in the ass!!!”

“What, you don’t want me to love you?” you raise your voice also, not understanding why he’s so worked up.

“I didn’t say that!” he yells back and you are baffled.

“So what’s the problem then?!”

“STOP SAYING IT!” he hisses at you, panting.
“Why should I?! Aren’t you happy that I love you?!”

“NO! I don’t need your stupid love!!!!!” The Joker has a fit, kicking all the candles and shampoo bottles in his rage, making sure to direct them your way.

You gasp in pain when one of the candles hits you right in the face since you didn’t have enough time to dodge it. You don’t say anything, just step out of the hot tub, holding your numb left cheek with your hand.

J stops his tantrum but doesn’t react in any other way as you leave him standing in the water, still fuming at your absurdities.

– The I LOVE YOU’s stopped. He doesn’t get any more letters, texts, hidden messages or sky lights on the buildings. So exciting you finally got it into your head you irritate him with your stupid feelings all the time! The King of Gotham doesn’t even hear it when you make love and that delights him.

The white mocha doesn’t taste the same though. When he asks why, you sassily respond:

“Because it’s not made with love so get used to it!”

“Cut it out, Y/N!” he snaps as you quietly walk away and couldn’t care less.

– He didn’t hear the words out of you in a few months and it’s perfect. Today he even went through his phone to delete all the useless pictures and drafts he saved from you.

– “Look up,” you urge him, pulling on his arm and his heart starts beating faster for some reason, but then all he sees is The Batsy signal in the night sky.

“He’s close, we should get going,” you tell J and he agrees, disappointed at the revelation. He kind of expected something else.
– Frost brings the letter to him in the meeting, whispering it’s urgent and J impatiently opens it to find inside just a dull piece of paper: “Dinner at 6, robbery at 7.30 . All ready to go.”

She could’ve texted me, he sulks, cramming your note in his pocket. He kind of expected something else.

– You are away for one night and he gets the text at 3AM. He immediately jumps out of bed and grins when he sees your name on the screen.

“This undercover mission you assigned me is very boring.” That’s all you sent. He grumbles something not very sweet and tosses the phone on the table, stretching and going back to bed, frustrated. He kind of expected something else.

 – He gets out of the shower and looks at the mirror just to see your insipid notation with red lipstick: “Be back soon.”

Why doesn’t she just text me if that’s all she has to say?! The Joker whines, grabbing a paper towel so he can clean your mess. He kind of expected something else.

– “Bubble bath is readyyyy!” you shout and he comes in, ready to unwind. You move so he can sit by you and begin massaging his shoulders, talking about a bunch of stuff that happened during the day.

“Well?!” he interrupts your speech, turning his head towards you.

“Well what?” you ask back, not getting the point, already forgetting what you were talking about and it annoys you.

“Say it!” he commands, slowly blinking, elbowing you.

“Say what?” you squint your eyes, trying to remember the topic he just made you forget.

“You know what, Pumpkin. Say it!” he mutters through his clenched teeth, not thrilled he has to bring it up.

You take a deep breath and gaze at each other for a few good seconds before finally kissing his neck and enunciate: “I LOVE YOU.”

“Good, I was wondering about that,” he grouchily comments, leaning backwards so he can rest against your body. “My white mocha better taste great again, Doll,” The Joker makes sure to point out, closing his eyes.

“With or without foam?” you tease J and since he’s such a difficult person he sure deserves it.

“With and it better spell something,” he reaches his hand to tug on your wet hair.

“It might if I still have the skills; it’s been a while,” you debate and it’s actually the truth.

“Don’t care, make it work,” he puffs, not giving a damn; he just expects it.

You want to laugh but can’t: your strategy worked- it was learned from the best. Your boyfriend should be proud since manipulating things to obtain what is desired happens to be his specialty.

Harry just finished bringing all the boxes in his new apartment. He finished just in time because it was absolutely down pouring. Buckets of water were falling and he couldn’t imagine being outside right now no matter how much he enjoyed the rain. The whole apartment was a mess and he should have at least unpacked something to sleep on but this was the first rain of the apartment.
He had to enjoy it.

He dug through a kitchen box hoping to find a mug and the tea kettle but would make do with the pot he found and a cup. He set the water on high and hurried to the window because he didn’t want to miss it.

Just one brave person running through the soaking water was the only person Harry saw. He could only imagine that person was going to have to change once he was inside.

He was used to rain but it had been a long time since he saw a rain like this. He felt it was fitting since he was at a new place. A clean rain for his clean start. Not that he needed a clean start, it was just different. Maybe he did need a clean start. But if he did, he didn’t care. He just wanted to enjoy this rain.
He was gazing through the sheets of rain when his eye caught the only light on facing his building from across the street. Harry thought a lot about that window and whether or not his eyes would have glanced over it had there not been that beautiful, beautiful girl sitting on an ottoman seat in the window staring through the rain as well.

To this day, Harry swore the rain cleared in a rectangle around her and just illuminated where she was seated across from him getting him looking straight toward her. She was looking a little bit more down as she watched the rain. Harry noted she was drinking hot chocolate with a lot of whipped cream and he did everything he could to stop envisioning him licking her lips of whipped cream but he didn’t care after a moment.

She was watching the rain. Harry felt like he already knew this girl because who in their right mind would just watch the rain like some TV show? Other than himself, he knew no one. His mum thought it was quirky. Gemma would always giggle at him when he shushed her. Past girlfriends never really understood. Harry was just alone usually watching storms.

But now, instead of watching the water fall he was ogling you.
You felt someone watching you and thought that was weird because it was just raining. And even if someone was watching you, you doubted they could fully see you. You loved storms like these where you got to sit in the window and just watch the world get cleaned.

You happened to glance across the street where you felt the stares and made eye contact with a beautiful boy standing in the window. You smirked and he waved shyly.

Somehow you didn’t picture a gorgeous boy enjoying the rain as much as you. Your mom always made jokes at your expense—they weren’t mean and always made you laugh, but the rain was just something special. You liked the patterns it made when drops plopped into puddles. Like polka dots and splashes that burst from the bottom up of the puddle. Streets flooded and created small rivers flowing down the road.

It was just calming and in your hectic life, a big rainstorm was just the touch you needed to relax.

*

A few days later and Harry was unpacked and moved in officially. The commute to work was shorter and the distance to the closest coffee shop was all but ten feet and the people who worked there knew his order in a matter of a week. It hadn’t rained again which he was upset about because he had a chair in the window just like the girl across the street did and he hoped it would rain again soon so he could catch her eye.

His apartment was home and cozy just as he liked but he wanted it to rain more than anything.

Or at least he thought he did.

When he arrived home from work he happened by the window and found you scribbling on a stack of papers in that window wrapped in a blanket and sipping some hot chocolate. He assumed you must be a teacher or a lawyer or something crazy like that.

He hurried to grab a book off the shelf in his room and ran back to his chair placed in the window and began to read. Every couple of minutes he looked over to see you working diligently. You felt his eyes on you again and maybe you should have been creeped out but you were sitting in the window. Plus it helped a lot he was really cute. You glanced up again and waved.

Harry’s answering smile was dazzling.

You felt a blush creep up on your cheeks but you hoped that he was too far away to see.

He wasn’t.

*

So the days went like that. The two of you spent your evenings together in that window giggling when the other stared for a long while and reading and working. Harry sometimes ate his dinner or dessert in that window just look at you a little longer. He wished he had more guts to go talk to this pretty girl. But he would settle for gazing at her

*

At two in the morning, Harry woke up to the sound of thunder. He rubbed his eyes and slipped out of bed. He grimaced as his feet touched the cold floor and slowly made his way to the chair by the window. He sat down with a blanket laid over his lap and he stared out at the storm. The water rushed down the buildings and over the road. It was silent except for the rain, the thunder, and it was black as night except for the lightning brightening the street every few moments.

Your light was off so Harry wasn’t sure if you were there. He assumed you were.
He kept his gaze on the window he knew was yours. Fourth floor, third window from the left. When the lightning illuminated the street again he saw your beautiful figure seated in the window watching the storm.

The only problem was there were tears in your eyes. Harry felt so horrible. His chest started to ache and he never felt like this in his whole life. He was so upset about your sadness he could have died.

The rain was cold and he didn’t know why he was doing this but he was. He pressed all the buttons to ring everyone that was home in their apartment. At once the door clicked open—probably someone up late watching TV. He ran up the four flights of stairs and turned and imagined facing the building and finding the apartment that would be yours.

If he couldn’t have interpreted which one was the third one in, the flowers hanging on the front of the door and the welcome mat was a dead giveaway.
He knocked. He was dripping with rain and it was cold and he didn’t care.
The door creaked open. You were shorter than he imagined. Even more beautiful. But ever so sad.

Harry didn’t speak and he just pulled you into his arms and held you tight.

You sniffled into his neck and sighed as tears dripped along with the rain onto his skin. “It’s about time.”

Your voice was sweeter than he imagined and he smiled as he cupped the back of your neck. “Sorry, kitten,” he whispered and kissed your forehead.

Releasing you, you scurried to get some sweatpants and a large shirt. Harry swiftly changed and you tugged him to the window seat. He pulled you down to his lap and he played with your hair, as the two of you listened to the rain.

And when the two of you woke up in the window with kinks in your neck, you couldn’t imagine a better way to wake up.

Lucky Swap

A very very late @mlsecretsanta gift for @teddy529. You had a pretty open-ended request, so I went with a temporary kwami swap!

The day began simply enough. An afternoon wandering around the streets of Paris with Alya by her side and a little money to spend on something to reward herself for her much improved attendance record at school. They even managed to find one of many small shops with a collection of Ladybug and Chat Noir merchandise, primarily intended to appeal to tourists and younger fans. Alya, however, was immediately taken by some of the earrings on display.

“Marinette, look! This one’s perfect for you!” The pink ladybug earrings were exactly the style Marinette typically wore, but Marinette shook her head.

“No, that’s okay. I already have the perfect pair.” She picked up a plastic ring that looked similar to Chat Noir’s. “I really love what I’m wearing.”

“Tell me about it.” Alya rolled her eyes. “I’ve never seen you wear anything else.”

“They were a gift from someone really important.” Marinette chuckled as she set the ring aside.

“Yeah, so you keep saying.” Alya waved the earrings in front of her. “You could at least try these on, though.”

“But I’m not going to buy them,” Marinette insisted.

“Why not? You can like a pair of earrings and still have some variety.” Alya frowned.

Marinette hesitated, caught between her duty to keep her earrings safe and the simple desire to indulge in trying on something new after months of wearing the same accessory every day. Besides, they’d just defeated an akuma last night, and Hawkmoth was probably still sulking over his latest defeat. Surely, she could take the chance to remove her miraculous for a little bit.

Unfortunately for her, the universe seemed to have some different thoughts on the subject. Almost as soon as she’d taken them off and tucked them into her purse, she was interrupted by the sound of shouting outside the small shop. Alya dragged her to the street before Marinette even had the chance to snap her purse shut, and they both stared up at the sight of an akumatized man on stilts, kicking over carts and stomping on cars that didn’t move out of the way fast enough.

So much for a day off.

Protect You (Part 1) (TJeffs x Reader)

Summary: You meet him for the first time

Warnings: None its bad tho so…. feedback is appreciated
—————————————-
“It must be hard with your sense of direction, never being able to find your way to a decent pickup line.”
“It’s a real shame nobody asked for your opinion.”

The first time you met him it was at a fourth of July party at Lafayette’s house. Laf had invited everyone he knew well. Alex, John, Herc, the Schuyler sisters, and you. You didn’t know Thomas Jefferson and his friend would be coming until you arrived. A genius plan in getting your brother to come without complaint. Well until…

“Gilbert Lafayette!” You had been talking with the Frenchman when Alex let out his bellowing yell.

“Thomas has arrived.” He said and soon enough your little big brother walked into the backyard. “Mon ami excuse me will you.” He said putting a hand on your shoulder.

“Good luck.” You said and moved to the picnic tables getting everything ready for the hamburgers that Herc and John were grilling. Eliza and Angelica were in the kitchen cooking everything else. Peggy was sitting by the pool soaking up the last of the day’s rays. You smiled as you moved past your brother and Laf arguing in French. You walked in the elegant sliding glass doors and into the kitchen.

Thomas was standing next to Angelica trying to talk to her. “It must be hard with your sense of direction to find your way to a decent pick up line.” You heard the oldest Schuyler sister say and you let out a laugh. You turned to look through Laf’s cabinets to find the napkins.

“I thought it was good.” You heard him say.

“Too bad you’re not trying to pick up yourself.” Angelica said and you heard Jefferson grunt. “Take these outside and set them on the table.” You found the napkins and turned around as soon as you did you heard the clattering of plastic plates on the floor.

You looked from the ground to Jefferson’s face. “Are you okay?” You asked concerned and walked to him.

“Um uh yeah, I’m fine,” he said and you bent down to pick up the plates, “Oh it’s okay, don’t worry about that please. I can take those too.” He said and gestured to the napkins.

“Oh okay.” You said and gave him the napkins. He got new plates and hurriedly moved outside. You let a small smile form on your lips Angelica looked outside at Jefferson looking inside at you and laughed.

“Oh my god, you made Jefferson make a fool of himself. He’s going to have a headache for days.” She said and you looked at her confused.

“Don’t worry about it,” Angelica said when she saw your expression. “Eliza did you see that? That was hilarious.”

“Angelica you are awful.” You said and shook your head. You took the food that was ready and brought it out to the table that Jefferson was setting. As you were setting down the food you felt him come up to you.

“Uh I’m uh um,” did he forget his name? “I’m Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson.” He said and stuck his hand out for you to shake. You gave a small smile and shook his hand.

“I’m Hamilton, (Y/N) Hamilton.” You said and he looked very confused. He looked between you and your brother.

“Oh that’s not fair.” He blurted out and then apologize and sulked back into the kitchen. You watched him retreat and your brother stomped over angrily.

“What did he say to you?”

“He just introduced himself, calm down.”

“Thas what I’m talking ‘bout. Who ready for food?” John yelled from the grills and that got everyone outside and around the picnic table. Everything was going great until someone brought up the recent discourse on campus. The library making people pay for coffee.

Alex went on a rant on how people were stupid for doing it, Thomas chimed in on how it would encourage people to get jobs to pay for it. Then it turned into an all out yelling match that ended in you telling them to shut up.

“Jesus Christ shut up. Why do you care it’s a dollar fifty get over it. If you would get an actual sleep schedule you wouldn’t need so much. God Alex it’s not life or death.” You rolled your eyes and both of them were silent and everyone else talked. When you’d finished you put you plate up and grabbed the beers.

“(Y/N) a woman after my own heart.” John commented as he grabbed a beer. Laf grabbed one too and soon everyone was talking and laughing and drinking. James and Thomas sat on pool chairs talking in the corner. Thomas kept looking at you and you caught him a few times he seemed tense as you laughed with Herc. What you weren’t expecting was Laf to jump in the pool close to you and soak you with the splash. Which was worse than it normally would have been because of your white American flag crop top.

You took a minute to get over the shock of being soaked. “Mon ami you are soaked.” Laf said and you turned.

“You don’t say.” You said and took your crop top off and your shorts only in your red, white, and blue bikini. “I’m going to strangle you.” You were about to jump in to do just that when John jumped in grabbing your arm dragging you in. Everyone was laughing as you play fought with John and Laf in the pool. It ended in the shallow end Laf and you in a tickle fight.

“I surrender jeez I won’t strangle you.” Laf let go and laughed. He swam to the diving board with John to do tricks. “Alex come help me out.” You said to your brother.

He scoffed,”No way.”

“Why not?” You poured.

“Because we’re siblings I know you.” He said and you rolled your eyes. Thomas did the same and got up to help you. He struggled not to stare at your boobs as he leant down. You grabbed his hand and pulled down bringing into the pool with you. He popped up sputtering and looked at you. You gave him a small smile, he returned it. You were about to swim to him but everyone else started jumping in and you were distracted. He left before you could talk to him again.

“You are so done for.” Peggy said as you wrapped a towel around yourself as you all sat around a fire.

The second time you saw him you were picking up Alex from debate club. Alex prided himself on being one of the top in the debate club. You told him it made him a nerd. He said that it qualified him for everything. You just rolled your eyes.

Today must have run late. You need let yourself go in because of all the nerdiness that must go on in there. You sighed and looked at the clock. It was supposed to be out twenty minutes ago. You had rehearsals in an hour. You had a few minutes to spare. Hopefully you wouldn’t have to stay long.

When you walked in it was a mad house

“When we were on death’s door, when we were needy, we made a promise, we signed a treaty. We asked France for help and they provided. In return, they didn’t ask for land, only a promise that we’d lend a hand And stand with them
If they fought against oppressors and revolution is messy But now is the time to stand!” You shoved your way through the crowd of men and women standing in the strange looking lecture hall. One side had seats and so did the other and there was a place for people to stand around in between them. It kind of looked like a stadium.

“Stand with our brothers as they fight against tyranny. I know that Alexander Hamilton is here and he would rather not have this debate; I’ll remind you that he is not Secretary of State!” When you got to the front you saw who was debating. Your brother and his super hot nemesis.
“He knows nothing of loyalty smells like new money, dresses like fake royalty desperate to rise above his station, Everything he does betrays the ideals of our nation. Hey, and if you don’t know, now you know, Mr. President.” Jefferson finished and you knitted your eyebrows looking at Alex and then Jefferson. There was tension as the taller man let a sinister smirk cross his face. The was not the same adorable man who had dropped plates at the sight of her was it?

“Thank you, Secretary Jefferson. Secretary Hamilton, your response?” George Washington, a history professor said and looked at your brother. It was silent for a moment everyone waiting for his response. Alex always had a way with a crowd since he was young and on the streets asking for money to buy his little sister some food.

“You must be out of your goddamn mind,” everyone shouted at that and you found yourself doing it as well. “If you think the President is going to bring the nation to the brink of meddling in the middle of a military mess, a game of chess, where France is Queen and King-less.” That’s when Alex noticed you and so did Thomas. And the Alex noticed Thomas noticing you and the glare that formed on his face. Thomas’ smirk had fallen when he’d seen you. He looked awe struck and you gave him a small smile.

“We signed a treaty with a King whose head is now in a basket, would you like to take it out and ask it? Should we honor our treaty, King Louis’s head? ‘Uh, do whatever you want I’m super dead!’” And like that it was over and you were being pushed out of there by Alex. “I hate the way he was looking at you.” Alex hissed.

“What with admiration, you know some people find me admirable.” You said as you moved around your car to get into the driver’s side.

“No like he was lovesick, you can’t date. I refuse to let it happen.” Alex said as he got in.

“Yeah yeah, say whatever you like, I can do what I want.” You told him and Alex rolled his eyes.

The third time you saw him was the charm.

You were sitting outside the theater waiting for your director to get there with the keys. It was cold and you had forgotten your jacket. So you sat huddle to the inside of the middle brick column. You could see the Political science building across the street and watched the students roll in quickly.

There was one that truly caught you attention. Tall, dark, ridiculously hot, and supposedly off limits. Thomas Jefferson was walking to his class and spotted you. You blushed when he caught you looking at him. His face knitted in concern when he recognized you. He quickly jogged over his bright purple jacket looking ridiculous.

“(Y/n) what are you doing out here without a jacket?” He asked and was quickly shedding his and wrapping it around you.

“Waiting on the director to get here. I have rehearsals today.” You said and he put his hands on your face. A weird thing for people who were practically strangers. His hands were so warm though you didn’t really care.

“You never stop surprising me.” He said and you hugged out a laugh giving a sardonic smile.

“That me, I’m full of surprises.” You said and moved your cold hands to his. “I’m actually really glad you came over here, I’m a tropical flower I don’t think I could have survived.” He laughed and so did you. His jacket was so warm. So absolutely warm. After a few minutes a silent warming Jefferson cursed at his watch.

“I’m late I have to go, if your director doesn’t come in a few minutes come in the Poli. science building okay. You’re lips are blue.” He said and you nodded. He got up and started walking away.

“Wait what about your jacket?” You asked.

“Keep it.” He said turning around.

“How will I get it back to you?” He smiled and your heart fluttered. He brought out a pen and wrote seven numbers on your arm.

“That’s my number, call me or text me when you wanna give it back.”
