The main characters of Northern Lights and text posts. I’m sorry I love this meme. The gyptians are not there because I didn’t found any good post :( (I took like 15 min to do this so I’ll probably do another one with them where I will actually search)
Anyway, The Subtle Knife characters + text post, ft my fancast minus Ruta Skadi bc I didn’t know who to fancast. Yes my fancast for Balthamos and Baruch are litteraly juste statues I didn’t know what to do.
“Tell them stories.” Will and Lyra are reunited. They wander, never, separated, never stay at one place for too long to catch up on long lost time, create new memories and collect stories for the harpies in the world of the dead.
“And I came to believe that good and evil are names for what people do, not for what they are. All we can say is that this is a good deed, because it helps someone or that’s an evil one because it hurts them. People are too complicated to have simple labels.”
✢ The Amber Spyglass by Philip Pullman “I’ll be looking for you, Will, every moment, every
single moment. And when we do find each other again, we’ll cling
together so tight that nothing and no one’ll ever tear us apart. Every
atom of me and every atom of you…We’ll live in birds and flowers and
dragonflies and pine trees and in clouds and in those little specks of
light you see floating in sunbeams…And when they use our atoms to make
new lives, they won’t just be able to take one, they’ll have to take
two, one of you and one of me, we’ll be joined so tight…“
added to TBR | on my TBR | couldn’t finish it | did not enjoy | it was OK | liked it | loved it | favorite | not interested
I loved the series when I read it as a kid, especially The Golden Compass (easily my favorite of the three), but I feel like I would like it less if I read it again because of the anvilicious anti-religious message. it’s so heavy handed in The Amber Spyglass particularly, and that kind of obvious moral judgment just tends to rub me the wrong way.
but I still do have a soft spot for Lyra and Pantalaimon.
BOOK MEME (1/3) OBJECTS – The Alethiometer, His Dark Materials
“It was very like a clock, or a compass, for there were hands pointing to places around the dial, but instead of the hours or the points of the compass there were several little pictures, each of them painted with the finest and slenderest sable brush.”
“In many ways Lyra was a barbarian. What she liked best was clambering over the College roofs with Roger, the kitchen boy who was her particular friend, to spit plum stones on the heads of passing scholars.”
