what if this scene was actually hinting that Gabriella’s mother has been drugging them all the whole time with her brownies. that’s why they have spontaneous dance numbers. that’s why “everything changed” when Gabriella came to east high. that’s why it’s called HIGH school musical.

and let’s face it. we never see her dad. they’re rich as fuck. and they always have to move away really suddenly and she’s never been allowed to have close friends.

 East High is a place where teachers encouraged us to break the status quo and define ourselves as we choose. Where a jock can cook up a mean crème brulee, and a brainiac can break it down on the dance floor. It’s a place where one person, if it’s the right person, changes us all.
