When An Ex Tries To Get Back With His Pregnant Wife (Mafia AU, Requested)
You and Namjoon took a stroll through Seoul, his arm wrapped tightly around your waist. It wasn’t often he could publicly go out with you for fear of someone harming you. With both of you dressed in masks and hats, adding sunglasses for extra measure, you took a morning walk to fetch baby supplies.
Namjoon hated when you hid your bump even if it wasn’t on purpose. So when you shrugged on the long black rain coat, he pouted in an adorable fashion.
Your thoughts fled you when you spotted an adorable pair of bright pink VANS made for newborns. You tugged on Namjoon’s long sleeve like a child yourself.
“Hang on, I’ll go in and buy them. Why don’t you look at the clothes while you wait?” You squealed and gave him a peck on the cheek before you scanned through the children’s clothes while Namjoon checked out.
“Y/n?” That voice made you freeze. You looked over your shoulder to the man with the wide grin. It was your ex. Your first real relationship. “I haven’t seen you in years! How are you?” He moved in for a hug but a strong hand caught the collar of his jacket.
“Can I help you?” Namjoon’s voice was rough and cold, the same one used with interrogating. Your husband fitted himself tightly between you and your ex.
“It’s alright Joonie. He’s an old friend.” Namjoon relaxed under your soft touch. Before he could open his mouth to apologize, the other man had scurried off to hide. Namjoon chuckled and handed you the small bag with the shoes.
“You do realize I know that was your ex, right?”
Jin was overprotective of you during your pregnancy. Always keeping a hand on your stomach or keeping you no further than arms distance. So when you went out for an evening walk to catch some fresh air, Jin was right there. You were dressed in only his t-shirt and a pair of basketball shorts.
Jin begged you to at least put on a coat but you shook your head and exited onto the street. Your penthouse apartment was in the center of the city, courtesy of Jin himself. So the street was damn near packed even at this time of night.
You had a bag of your favorite chips stuffed in one hand and shoved them in your mouth. Jin was leaning against the doorway, secretly admiring you from afar. That was until a man continually stared at you from the other side of the street.
“Y/n? Y/n L/n?” The man approached you with a warm smile: you nearly chocked on your chips. Jin knew not to be hasty, but his anger boiled. “How’s life? You look as beautiful as ever!” That’s when his gaze dropped to your stomach. “Deadbeat dad?”
Before you could answer your ex had raised his hand. “No need to explain. Why don’t I take you out for dinner. We could catch up.”
“She won’t be needing your company. Hi, I’m the deadbeat dad!” Jin wrapped his arm around you shoulder and stuck out his hand in a threatening manner. Your ex stuttered, and when Jin leaned in closer, he took off into the crowd of people.
You rolled your eyes at Jin’s behavior and kissed his throat. “Cmon “Deadbeat” let’s go back inside.“
“Yoongi, I just want some Ice Cream!” Nobody in their right mind would wake up Yoongi while he was sleeping. He was scary as hell when disturbed. But you were even scarier when you didn’t get what you wanted. It was 2am and Yoongi wouldn’t budge. Even if you knew how dangerous it was to go out alone, you were having bad cravings.
You flipped on the closet light and fished out a sweatshirt and stretchy pants. When you tried to tip-toe across the bedroom, Yoongi groaned.
“Where do you think your going?” He swung his legs over the side of the bed and ran a hand through his messy hair.
“Three words. Ice cream run.”
“Give me 5 minutes.” Five minutes it was on the dot. You were at the 24 hour supermarket and was loading the buggy with ice cream. Pickles sounded good right about now. So when Yoongi kneeled down to grab a gallon of Cookies and Cream, you snuck off to the pickles.
Of course the world had damned you and put them on the highest shelf. With one hand over your stomach, you stood on your yippie toes to reach them. A longer arm however plucked them up first. You turned to see your ex, dressed in an apron that the employees wore.
“Here you go mi- Y/n? Damn you look as fine as ever!” You clenched your teeth at his comment. His immature behavior is why you left him in the first place. He was a sleazy dog and he knew it. “You put on a few pounds but that’s alright. Why don’t you meet me after work?” He started to approach you with a wicked grin on his face.
“Back off!” Yoongi forced himself in front of you and stood at attention. You could practically see the hair on the back of his neck stand up much like a dog. “If you touch her, I’ll make sure you lose every last one of your fingers. Now give me the damn pickles.” Your ex hastily handed Yoongi the pickles and ran off in the opposite direction.
You frowned and grabbed the jar. “He got Bread and Butter…” you pouted. Yoongi just chuckled at your behavior and nuzzled the skin behind your ear.
Hoseok and you were having a lazy day. Namjoon had insisted Hoseok work from home to spend extra time with you and his unborn child. You were lazily drawing circles on your belly button, feeling the soft flutter of hiccups from your precious baby boy. Hoseok placed his hand in the same exact spot where the movement happened, and smiled with delight when a little foot pressed against his hand.
“He’s fussy today.” You groaned and placed a hand on your lower back, rolling a little to wrap a leg around Hoseok’s waist. He ha show laptop on the arm of the couch and used his other hand to rub your arm soothingly.
Your phone buzzed for the millionth time that day. You weren’t even going to look at it but Hoseok saw how your eyebrows knotted together in annoyance. “Who keeps messaging you?”
“Just one of my old exes. Don’t worry about it. I’m trying to ignore him.” Your voice grew heavy and the next time Hoseok turned to speak to you, sleep had taken over. Another ding from your phone had him narrowing his eyes. He clicked on your screen so he could view your messages. He knew you would never be unfaithful but he also knew this guy was annoying you to no end.
Rows upon rows of this guy confession to you, saying how he wanted to be with you again. Hoseok smirked to himself and opened a new tab on his computer. He’d make sure this guy never bothered you again.
An hour later, you emerged from your nap. Hoseok had placed a pillow to replace him and gave you a fuzzy blanket. The T.V remote was placed by your swollen stomach. Hoseok was most likely having a meeting with the rest of the Bangtan Members. You turned on the nightly news out of boredom and narrowed your eyes at screen.
There was your ex on the nightly news being interviewed. He was swearing up and down that his bank account was full moments ago, and that it was completely empty the next second. The headline was stated as following: “Mysterious String of Empty Bank Accounts Rising”.
You picked up your phone and sent your husband a quick text.
Jimin and you were setting on a park bench, enjoying each other’s company. The jungle gym in front of you was filled to the brim with kids. That would be your little girl some day, swinging from the handlebars while Jimin held her up so she could reach.
Jimin rubbed your belly softly. Little kicks followed the path of his hand much to his amusement, and your discomfort.
“She’s a daddy’s girl already.” Jimin kissed your lips sweetly. The chime of a bell tore your attention to the wagon filled with frozen treats.
“Jimieeee!” You pointed to the ice cream cart. Jimin shook his head with a laugh and fished out money from his pocket.
“Wait here. Chocolate right?” You nodded excitedly and watched him approach the wagon. Another figure took his seat, a man you recognized all too well.
“Chocolate Ice cream for a Y/n?” Your ex was a smug bastard, able to have his way with almost anyone. With a deep frown you tried to ignore him completely as he held out the one to you. He yelled however, when a flying stone cracked against his fingers, the ice cream splattering on the bench.
“She stopped liking your ice cream a long time ago.” Jimin grabbed your elbow and helped you to your feet. He handed you the ice cream a shot your ex a look that could kill. “As you can tell, she’s yet to have her fill of mine though.” He laid a hand on your swollen stomach and pressed a hungry kiss to your mouth.
When you parted for air your ex was gone, and Jimin was now the smug one.
“You are so dirty! Now go get my sprinkles.”
Taehyung and you were visiting the local mall to shop. Cribs of a bassinet were on today’s agenda. You ran your fingers across the fine oak of a crib, marveling at the craftsmanship. Taehyung came up behind you and wrapped his arms around your middle.
“Do you like this one?” His voice was deep yet soft. You nodded anxiously. He chuckled and lifted the box in his own two arms. “Why don’t you pick out some blankets?”
Taehyung didn’t have a budget when it came to you and his unborn baby. He’d buy you the sun and moon if it would make you happy. You had been raised with little to nothing like Tae, that’s one reason you connected.
Tae went to pay for the crib while you picked through the mint green blankets. You had yet to find out the sex of the baby, wanting to wait to be surprised. “Y/n is that you?”
Your ex stood there with an armful of children’s clothes in his arms. He was clearly a worker here. That surprised you, seeing how arrogant he was. You had expected him to be a CEO, not a worker at a baby store.
“I have nothing to say to you.” The last time you had seen your ex, he was being towed away in a cop car. He was highly abusive, verbally and physically.
“Give me one more chance-” he peered over the rack to see your stomach, 7 months full with child. “Knocked up?”
“Watch your mouth.” Taehyung dropped the box he was carrying at your feet and squared up to the man. He towered a few inches above him and his strong jaw was set.
“C'mon Tae, we don’t have time for filth like him.” You grabbed his hand and motioned for him to pick up the box and leave. Taehyung did so unwillingly. When you both made it to the car, you grabbed Tae’s cheeks and kissed him with full force of passion.
“I love you.”
Jungkook had invited you to one of his underground matches. Some might say that this was no place for a woman who was 5 months pregnant, but you loved the adrenaline. Jungkook was up next to fight and you had a front row seat.
You scanned his opponent, broad shoulders and all. He turned around to put his mouth piece in and you recognized him immediately. That was the ex.
You knew he had been a fighter, but not for underground matches like this. He must have fallen low. Unfortunately, he noticed you as well. He stripped out of his shirt and kneeled in front of you.
“Hey pretty girl. Remember me? Why don’t you congratulate the winner afterwards?” He made a V shape with his fingers and slid his thick tongue between them. You cringed at the sight and gagged. Little did he know, Jungkook was standing behind him with nostrils flares and fist clenched.
The ref called action with a blow of his whistle and you had never seen a faster fight. Jungkook threw a single punch to your ex’s skull and he was out like a light. Your husband continued to beat the bastard senseless. Blood finally spurred from his mouth and two burly men had to drag him away.
He hopped the rope and collected you in his arms. Jungkook lifted the front of your shirt and placed a sloppy kiss on your belly button. The crowd cheered on the champion and his affection towards you.
“I like his idea Y/n. Why don’t you come congratulate me in the locker room?”
As you entered the door after a long day of work, you smiled as you saw the boys scattered about. It was finally a day where you could stay at the dorms with them, after their insanely hectic schedule. You could smell food coming from the kitchen, and you realized how hungry you actually were.
“Hey y/n” rap mon said from the sofa, you waved, dropping your bag and walking over to the kitchen. You ruffled Jungkook’s hair on the way, and he huffed, attempting to fix it.. You crept into the kitchen, seeing Jin working at the stove. You smiled to yourself, wrapping your arms around his waist.
“Hobi the food isn’t done” he said in frustration. you stifled a giggle, looking up at him.
“I’m gonna have to talk to Hobi about being touchy with my man now aren’t I?” you said. He smiled, quickly trying to face you, but his hand hit the scolding hot pan in the process.
“FUCK!” he yelled, jumping back, causing you to let go.
“shit baby let me help..” you said, reaching for his hand but he snatched it back, burning it once more.
“y/n.. get the fuck out of my face… you’ve helped enough” he growled. You felt yourself tense up. Jin never cursed at you. You looked over, and saw the six boys watching you with their mouths hanging open. Refusing to let yourself cry in front of them, you swiftly walked to the living room, grabbing your bag, and heading home.
A few hours later, after feeling like absolute shit, you heard a knock at the door. Puffy eyed, you opened it and saw Jin standing there with a Tupperware container in his non bandaged hand, and flowers in the other. You leaned against the door frame, staring him down.
“What?” you said, in an almost inaudible voice. He melted at the sight of you, almost not being able to let words out.
“I’m so sorry.. I shouldn’t have snapped at you.. and I shouldn’t have spoken to you like that.. I swear I won’t do it again..” he whispered. You chewed on your bottom lip, and saw tears weld in his eyes. You broke, wrapping your arms around his neck, and kissing his cheek.
“it’s okay.. come inside..” you whispered. He softly kissed you, accepting your invitation inside.
You smiled, happy at yourself with what you had done. Yoongi was at practice, and you managed to clean his studio. It was a disaster with the upcoming comeback. You sorted all of his papers, filing them all onto his desk in folders. You made sure everyone’s lines was sorted, songs were sorted by track number and color coded. Took his trash out, dusted, swept, the whole nine yards. Organized cd’s, flash drives, everything. anything to make yoongi’s life easier. You knew the environment was becoming a lot for him. You just wanted to make him happy. You ordered take out, and waited for him to stumble into the door, because he was coming to work in the studio after dance. It was simply meant to be a time you two spent together. As you heard the door creak open, you watched as an already exhausted yoongi walked in. You watched as his face contoured into an expression you didn’t expect. He looked angry. Infuriated.
“what did you do..” he said.
“I cleaned up for you…. I know you were complaining that you needed to clean up.. so I did it for you..” you said, in almost a whisper.
“What.. did… you… do..” he said. You stood silent.
“I had everything placed specifically a certain way! What the hell would possess you to do this!!!” he yelled. You stood dumbfounded.
“Yoongi i-im sorry I only wanted to help….” you said.
“just.. get out of here please. I have to sort this mess you made.” he spat. You rose silently, walking out of the building. You stood outside, feeling confused, and guilty. While you did that, yoongi realized what you had done, and felt guilty immediately. You had made it easier for him, leaving little post it notes on the computer, indicating what meant what, and what color was assigned to whom. He also saw the bag of take out, and sighed. He ran outside, hoping to catch you before you got too far.
“y/n..” he said breathlessly. You turned around, seeing him crouched over trying to catch his breath.
“i’m sorry… come here..” he whispered, taking you in his arms.
“I’m sorry.. I’m just stressed.. I shouldn’t have come at you.. you were trying to help me.. I love you.. thank you.. lets go eat..” he whispered, softly kissing you. You followed, slightly confused, slightly happy.
You were frustrated. Hobi hadn’t been home in hours. This was a reoccurring thing. The comeback was slowly approaching, so he spent countless hours in the dance room. He was constantly out, leaving early, returning late. You genuinely missed him. He wasn’t only your boyfriend, but your best friend. You sat on the sofa, fighting sleep to see him at least once. Hour ticked by. 12 Am. 1 AM. 2 AM. 3 AM. He walked into the door at nearly 4 in the morning. You sat up, and he sighed, taking his shoes off.
“Hi baby..” you said, making your way over to him. He took his jacket off, not uttering a word. It was the first time you’d seen him in a while. You just wanted to hug him. You took the jacket from him, placing it on the sofa, and wrapped your arms around him. He pushed you off, with glaring at you.
“Geez you’re so clingy. I just got here and I’m tired” he said. You were dumbfounded, but mostly hurt.
:Well. Sorry for being clingy. I just missed my boyfriend, and wanted to fucking see him so I stood up till almost 4 in the morning to see him. Sorry that I fucking missed you.” you said, tears burning your eyes. You made your way to your room, laying in bed. He went to the shower, and you heard him cursing under his breath. Tears slowly trickled down your cheek as he crawled into bed, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you close to him. You sniffled, crossing your arms.
“I’m sorry.. I’m just tired with the come back.. I didn’t mean it.. you know i love when you’re all over me…” he whispered in your ear. You remained silent. He softly kissed your shoulder and you melted against him.
“I missed you too..” he whispered in your ear.
Your boyfriend was always pranking you. Always. You decided to mess with him. You stored all of his tracks onto a USB, Triple checking to make sure it was all okay. You slipped it into your pocket, and deleted it from his computer. He walked in, sweetly kissing you and you toyed with your hands
“Joon.. I don’t know what I clicked.. but I accidentally deleted something off your laptop..” you whispered. He paled immediately.
“not the tracks.. please tell me it wasn’t the tracks..” he whispered. You remained silent. He moved you to the side, seeing that they were gone.
“y/N WHAT THE FUCK!” he yelled. You jumped, not expecting that.
“I worked for weeks on this shit! Why the fuck did you touch my shit! How could you do something so idiotic!” he yelled. His voice boomed in the enclosed room. You felt small suddenly, tossing him the flash drive.
“it’s on here.. It was a prank…” you whispered, walking out of the room nearly in tears. He sighed, following you out. You locked yourself in the bathroom trying to calm down. He could hear your hiccup sobs from the other side of the door.
“baby i’m sorry.. please come out..” he said. You made your way out, arms crossed, sniffling.
“You yelled at me..” you whispered, near tears again. He took you in his arms, trying to calm you down.
“i”m sorry baby..” he says.
You were beyond excited. It was weeks of countless stress, studying and worry. You got your grades from your final exams. You passed! You literally ran to where your boyfriend was, in the dance hall working on dances for the comeback. You couldn’t contain your excitement.
“Jimin guess what!” you squealed.
“Not now” he mumbled.
“really quick baby I have great news!” You squealed. He glared at you, but you were still giddy and excited.
“I said not now! I’m busy!” he yelled. You took a step back, trying to figure out who he was talking to. You shoved the paper in his chest, becoming angry like he was and walking out. When he would get home he would feel bad, seeing you on the sofa with your arms crossed, clearly upset. He crawled next to you, laying his head on your lap and not letting you push him off.
“i’m sorry… I was rude.. Congratulations jagii.. you passed..” he said. You stared forward, ignoring him. He sat up, pulling you onto his lap, and placing his plump lips on yours, knowing you wouldn’t be able to resist. You kissed back happily, and he smiled.
“Let’s go celebrate” he said, picking you up and taking you to the bedroom and you started dying.
As you dropped off the last bag, you felt satisfied. You and your boyfriend decided to donate to the less fortunate. You both donated a bunch of clothes, as well as some money to help those in need. You went home, and saw your home in a war zone.
“Where is it!!!!!” you heard your boyfriend yell. You tiptoed over shoes, and sweaters, careful not to step on anything.
“baby?” you asked, looking into your bedroom.
“I can’t find it!” he yelled
“my sweater! my favorite sweater!” he yelled. You sat there, completely and utterly confused. Then you realized that it must have been at the top of the donations pile. Tae had the habit of throwing things in random piles, so you assumed it was for donations.
“… it wasn’t the black one with the grey writing on the front was it..” you asked.
“yes! have you seen it?” he asked.
“baby.. don’t get mad.. I assumed it was donations… It was in the pile-” you started
“What the fuck y/n!” he yelled.
“it’s not my fault you throw your shit around!” you yelled back. You stormed off into the living room, cleaning up. After he calmed down, he pulled you close to him on the sofa.
:im sorry.. it was my fault.. it’s going to someone in need.. you still love me right?” he teased. You huffed, looking at him.
“Sadly.” you responded. He showered you with kisses, and you smiled, feeling 1000000x better.
You sat in the kitchen, working on an assignment when you heard the front door shut. Your favorite time of day. Your boyfriend, Jungkook was finally home. It was really busy for the both of you lately. School had started again, so you were constantly studying, and his comeback was slowly creeping up, so he was always at practice, and rarely home. You missed him, and rarely got to see him. You were only lucky this time because you were up late to finish something. You walked into the living room, and saw him elevating his leg.
“What happened?” you asked, softly kissing him.
“I fell at practice.” he groaned. you tried fixing the pillow, but he moved away. You ignored it, walking to the kitchen and getting him an ice pack.
“my poor baby.. do you want something for the pain?” you asked.
“I’m fine. You’re acting like my mom” he said. You frowned, trying to put the ice pack on his leg. He moved away once again.
“I said i”m fine!” he yelled. You looked at him, irritation taking over.
“You bust your ass, I’m not the one who hurt you. Stop acting like a dick” you said, throwing the ice pack at his chest. You stormed out, and he sighed. Your attitude was the craziest thing he had experienced, but it was his favorite thing about you. You didn’t take shit from anyone. He felt guilty immediately, letting his pride get the best of him when you were only trying to help. You shut your laptop, going to bed. He hopped over, laying next to you and pulling you onto his chest.
“You’re sexy when you’re mad” he teased.
“Do you want another bad leg?” you asked. He grinned, softly kissing you.
“I’m sorry.. you were trying to help.. thank you babyyyyy” he said gooffily, trying to kiss you up.
“Jungkook you need to watch yourself.” you said. He continued kissing on you, eventually making you give in.
“I love you..” he whispered.

HTTYD 3 drabble: Berk: The Forever Home of Dragons
“This… is Berk. Once the home of the largest species of
dragons, as well as the Alpha and only known living Night Fury. But that was
ten years ago. Now… the dragons have left, and Berk is once again the village
it was fifteen years ago. Home to only Vikings and livestock. Why? Because a
chief and alpha had to make the hardest choice of their lives, for the better
of their people. A chief, protects his own. And protecting… sometimes has
While Hiccup narrates this, the camera travels through Berk,
where only people and animals can be seen. No dragons, only traces of them. all
of the dragons building are still there- the hanger and everything. Hiccup
refused to get rid of them- they were the only things that reminded him of the
dragons- and more specifically Toothless. Even though it caused pain to see
them as a reminder, it also brought comfort.
Then the camera goes towards the landscape around Berk,
towards a cliff that overhangs the ocean. There, Hiccup sits alone. Staring off
into the distance where the dragons had disappeared all those years ago, and
hadn’t been seen since. In his hands, he held Toothless’s saddle, the manual
one that Hiccup had needed to help control. He fingers the worn leather sadly,
a small sigh of longing escaping him.
Astrid steps up behind him, setting a hand on his shoulder
reassuringly. Hiccup lifts a hand and places it on top of hers, his gaze still
on the horizon. She steps forward and sits down beside him, her eyes also
falling towards the horizon. She looks back at her thirty-year-old husband and
chief, noting the bit of scruff on his chin, indicating that he’d forgotten to
shave that morning.
After a while the two stand up and head back towards the
village, where Hiccup is met by his two children, Stoick the second and Lili.
The two children wish to go on a walk to the cove, which Hiccup visited often
these days. So Hiccup and Astrid took their children to the worn path and began
he trek to Raven’s Point. Stoick asks his father for a story: a story about the
dragons and how they left. Hiccup sighed and nodded, picking up Stoick in his
arms before beginning…
…Hiccup and his family have reached the cove by the time
he finishes the story, and they’re all sitting on the ground by the small lake.
Hiccup lifts his head and smiles sadly at his family, but Astrid’s eyes are
wide and the kids are looking slightly afraid. Hiccup stares at them in
confusion f or several seconds before he turns and looks at what they’re gaping
at. He gasps in shock, feeling light-headed. There, standing on that rock where
Hiccup had met Toothless for the second time, was a black Night Fury. The
dragon stared at them before grinning gummily and jumping down, rushing over to
Hiccup before colliding with him, pushing him to the ground. Hiccup stares at
the dragon in shock, before he breaks down in a mixture of tears and laughing,
hugging the dragon back tightly while burying his head into Toothless’s neck.
“You came back, bud.” Hiccup whispers, but pauses when he hears another Night
Fury shriek come from the rock formation. He looks up and sees yet another
Night Fury step forward, followed by two minnie Nigh Fury’s. Not only that, but
a Nadder that looked dizzily similar to Stormfly had landed not far from the
rock, near the pond. Silence fell for a moment before Astrid shrieked and stood
up, dumping Stoick on the ground in her mad haste to get to her dragon.
Stormfly runs forward and the two meet in a fierce hug, Astrid crying
Hiccup stood up and hugged Toothless again, only then
realizing how much bigger Toothless had grown. He was about a foot taller, and
his wing span was also longer. Hiccup opened his eyes and looked down
Toothless’s back, noticing the automatic tailfin still attached to Toothless’s
tail. It had been surgically placed in, so that it wouldn’t come off and
Toothless could wear it without fear of it falling apart.
Hiccup pulls away, his hands holding onto Toothless’s head.
He smiles through the tears, while Toothless grins back at him, the dragon’s
butt wagging back and forth in his joy, much like a dog would do. Hiccup hugs
him again- tighter this time. He never wanted to let go, for fear that his
dragon would fly off again and never return.
But finally Hiccup pulls back, as had Astrid from Stormfly.
Toothless turned around and cooed towards the other Night Fury’s, who
cautiously crawled down the rock and towards the humans. Hiccup steps forward
and holds out a hand slowly to the dragons. The large Night Fury hesitates, but
the younger ones immediately bump their heads into his palm. Toothless steps
closer to Hiccup, his tail wrapping around his human. The other Night Fury
looks from Toothless to Hiccup before stepping forward and also placing its
head into Hiccup’s palm. The chief smiles happily, then looks at Toothless for
“A family.” Astrid whispers from behind him. “He has a
Hiccup stares at them in awe, before turning to look back at
Toothless. Toothless is staring at Stoick and Lili wondrously, looking back at
Hiccup in curiosity.
Hiccup smiled and held out a hand, motioning for Stoick and
Lili to step closer. “These are my kids, Toothless. And Astrid’s my wife now.”
Toothless sniffs at Stoick, making the small boy flinch in
fear. Hiccup smiled and took Stoick’s hand, showing him how to hold it out.
Stoick did so slowly at first, but then he smiled happily when Toothless licked
it and began to coo happily. The small Night Furies came up and began nudging
at Lili and Stoick, making the children laugh and giggle before picking up the
small dragons. Astrid smiles and comes to stand beside Hiccup, Stormfly close
by her side. Astrid had one hand on Stormfly’s head, the other going to wrap
around Hiccup’s shoulders, hugging him happily.
Squawking, roaring, and the sound of flapping wings can be
heard from above. Hiccup, Astrid, and the kids stare up at the sky in wonder
and shock. There were hundreds of dragons- hundreds- flying in the direction of
Berk. Hiccup’s eye found Cloudjumper among them, as well as SkullCrusher, Grump,
Hookfang, Barch, Meatlug, and all the other dragons that had once lived on
Berk- plus others. Hiccup looked to Astrid, who looked back at him with an
overjoyed smile on her face.
Toothless had returned, the other dragons had returned. It
was like a wonderful dream come true, but Hiccup knew that the dragon standing
before him was very much real.
Hiccup then turned back to Toothless, hugging him again.
“This… is Berk.” The camera zooms in on the island, showing
the hanger where dragons were once again inhabiting. “Yes, dragons once didn’t
inhabit this island- for ten years they were absent.” The camera goes through
the village, showing dragons perched on top of buildings while others were
looking around for their owners. It shows the original “gang” each reacquainting
with their dragons, Fishleg’s with tears and laughs, while Snotlout just walks
up in shock before hugging Hoofkang fiercely. The twins start shouting words of
joy before attacking their dragon, and before long the two and dragon are
rolling about on the ground. Valka hugs Cloudjumper without any words, only
tears, while Grump just simply lands on top of an unsuspecting Gobber,
effectively smushing the large man in a bone crushing hug.
“But they returned.” Camera then shows Hiccup stepping out
from the forge, holding Toothless’s old saddle in his hands. Toothless jumps up
and down in excitement, moving closer while Hiccup begins to strap it on.
“And with an unspoken promise to never leave.” Camera then
shows Hiccup climbing onto Toothless’s back, zooming out to show Astrid on top
of Stormfly. Hiccup smiles at Toothless, who grins back before he pushes his
foot in the pedal, the now manual tailfin adjusting position.
Toothless jumps into the air, Hiccup whooping in joy.
Stormfly and Astrid join them, and soon Valka does as well, (Stoick and Lili in
her lap). The “gang” swoop up and join as they go, but before long Toothless
and Hiccup began to pick up speed.
“yes. This is the Berk as we know it, and always will. The
forever home… of dragons.”
Hiccup and Toothless fly up onto the large mountain stack
over Berk, Toothless letting out a fierce roar while Hiccup just stared at his
village, a smile of complete contentment and joy on his face.
“Are you ready?” Hiccup reclined on the bed beside Astrid, one arm slung around her shoulders. For the first time that day to room was quiet and still. His mother and mother-in-law had taken their leave allowing the couple some time alone with their brand-new baby girl.
The young couple had sat for over an hour, staring at their little girl in awe and wonder, amazed that they could make something so tiny, so pink, so perfect.
Astrid’s fringe still clung to her forehead, sweaty from the exertion of the last twelve hours. Hiccup brushed the sticky strands of his wife’s face. “As?”
“Hmm?” Completely distracted by the small bundle in her arms, Astrid stroked a finger down the baby’s cheek. She smiled at the suckling motion as her finger neared the newborn’s mouth. “Yeah, babe, let them in.”
Slowly, Hiccup stood from the bed, reluctantly tearing his gaze from his wife and daughter. He wanted to stay and drink in the sight of them forever but he would only be gone a moment.
He walked to the door and opened it, sticking his head outside.
Fishlegs noticed him first, halting the route he’d been pacing around the room. The twins were sitting side by side with their backs to the door. They turned as one when they noticed Fishlegs had stopped.
Snotlout was the first to the door.
“Me first, I’m family.” He pushed past into the little room.
With an exaggerated eye-roll, Hiccup stood aside to let the others in.
“Wait, why’s he got so much hair.” Snotlout was already by the bed, brows knit together in utter confusion. “I thought babies were bald.”
“Nope, that was just you Snotlout.” Ruffnut came to stand beside him, her eyes all shiny, hands making grabby motion towards the baby. “I want one.” Snotlout took a hasty step away.
“Eh, I don’t see the appeal,” Tuffnut leant in close to scrutinise the tiny baby’s features. “Small, squishy human. Can’t ride a boar yet. What’s the point?” The small, squishy human scrunched her face up in a yawn, her little arms stretched out as the movement rocked her whole body.
“Ah, yep. Now I see it.” Tuffnut took a step back beside his sister, his own eyes going misty.
“This is Nora,” Astrid stroked through the soft downy fuzz of her daughter’s head, her eyes still glued to the tiny body.
“Ha, Nora? But that’s a girl’s name.” Snotlout’s confusion rocketed up a level.
“Crazy that.” Hiccup sat back down on the bed beside his wife. Carefully, Astrid passed her daughter over. Hiccup marvelled at the way he could hold her tiny body with her head in his palm and her feet just brushing the crook of his arm.
“A girl huh?” Ruffnut stared down at the child in Hiccup’s arms. “Thank the Gods she looks more like Astrid then.”
Hiccup glanced sharply up at her. “What’s that supposed to mean?” He asked.
“Nothing…” Ruffnut looked Hiccup up and down. “It just that nose. Those eyebrows…” She tipped her head sideways as she judged his appearance.
“She got his hair though,” Tuffnut piped up. “So much hair.”
“She’s beautiful guys,” Fishlegs came in with the save.
Nora began to mewl and squawk, her face going red and splotchy.
“Give her to me,” Astrid held out her arms and Hiccup reluctantly passed the little girl back. Screams filled the air as the Dragon Riders shifted awkwardly.
“Maybe we should give them some space,” Fishlegs suggested. One by one they shuffled out of the room.
Hiccup reclined back on the bed, elbow propped against the headboard, watching Astrid intently as she fussed over Nora. She shifted her tunic around and held the babe to her breast. The cries died down as the newborn latched on, replaced with the sounds of vigorous suckling.
“We did good babe,” Astrid’s voice was husky as she spoke. She glanced up at her husband, a tired smile flitting across her lips.
“You did all the work Milady,” Hiccup leant forward to kiss the top of her head. “But yeah, she’s perfect.”
“For the love of Thor, tell me what you want!” Astrid exclaimed as she cradled a crying baby Stoick to her chest. He’d been fussing for the past two hours, and nothing would calm him down – not nursing, not a diaper change, not being cuddled. And while Astrid loved little Stoick, she couldn’t take the crying any longer.
“Hiccup, I swear to all things sacred, if you just keep sitting there drawing, I’m gonna knock you over the head with my axe,” the blonde said, glaring at her distracted husband.
Hiccup looked up from his work. “Well, there’s nothing we can do. He’s just a little cranky. And eventually, he’ll be in a better mood and we can have some peace.”
“So, you don’t care that your son is driving me crazy, that I’m at the end of my patience, and that I’m exhausted from waking up to feed him last night.”
“I do, milady, and I’m sorry. If I could, I’d get up at night and feed him myself, but I don’t have the equipment to do that.”
Astrid’s eyes narrowed. “This isn’t the time for jokes, Hiccup.”
“I never said I was joking.”
The blonde groaned and, approaching her too-calm-for-her-liking husband, held out baby Stoick. “Here. Take him.”
Putting down his charcoal, Hiccup gathered the baby in his arms. “Shh. It’s okay, bud. You’re just a little cranky. You get that from your Mama. But you’ll be okay soon. Let’s just go outside and look at the dragons. You like dragons, right?” He stood up and, grabbing a blanket for the infant, headed out the door.
Stoick’s cries slowly softened as his father showed him the different dragons. Toothless and Stormfly were playing in the front yard, Cloudjumper was napping in Valka’s stables, Hookfang was chasing Barf and Belch around a tree, and Meatlug was enjoying a sandstone dinner.
“See, bud? Dragons make everything better.”
Stoick let out a sleepy sigh.
“And now you’re ready for bed.” The young chief carried his son back inside, and called Toothless and Stormfly in after them. He couldn’t wait to tell Astrid that he’d gotten their little son to stop crying, but when he reached the bedroom, he noticed that she was already sound asleep.
Grinning, Hiccup placed Stoick in his cradle and kissed his head. After changing into nightclothes, he slipped onto the mattress beside his wife and, wrapping an arm around her, drifted off to sleep with the rest of his family.
