These studies were an exercise in emulating some of the process that Mark Tennant uses when doing figurative drawing work (see the work here and read about his process here). I was also getting a bit tired of working so small.
All of these pieces were done with graphite and charcoal on 18"x24" sheets of 111 lb. Canson drawing paper. Each took somewhere between 2 and 3 hours.
It’s been hard to get a good start on anything this last month. And even here, I’m playing it safe by regurgitating some of what I did during NaNoDrawMo 2010. But I’m just trying to get some momentum again.
