Hey Kara?

I don’t know if this is okay.

I swear I didn’t mean to read your letters to my Mom, but my dad keeps snooping around the house so I thought it would be better if I kept them when John the doorman brought them up. Then I thought it might be important, so I read just a little bit. I’ve hidden them in my room, so don’t worry.

Mom’s alive, okay? I think I’m allowed to tell you that. If this doesn’t get to you then the agents watching me have burned it. They’re not from Mom’s job, they don’t have those uniforms. I think they work directly for the President. They’re okay though. Not really friendly but they let me have soda whenever I want.

But Kara, it’s not okay. I’ve only seen Mom one time and she’s hurt pretty bad. There’s this special hospital but I don’t know where it is. I haven’t spoken to her so I don’t know what she would want me to do. I think she wouldn’t like that you’re so worried. Mom always wants to know the whole story, so I guess maybe you’re the same?

I’m scared. I don’t want to live with my Dad all the time, and I don’t like him here in Mom’s house, looking at everything like he’s wondering how much he could sell it for on ebay. I know I should be nicer to him, but he’s said some pretty bad things about Mom and about her new job, so I’m mad at him.

Is it okay that I’m mad at him? I don’t know what to do. I just want my Mom to come home. She would know.

I know I was a pain sometimes Kara, and that I got you in trouble with my Mom. I’m really sorry about that. I’m glad you and Mom are friends. She needs a good friend.

I’m leaving this on the balcony you wrote about. I’ll leave another note if I find anything out or I get to see Mom. I would text but these agents took my phone because secure lines only or something. If you want to write back you can leave your letter behind the big gray plant pot. I only get to come here sometimes, the agents keep us on the move a lot. But I’ll get it.

Yours sincerely,

Carter Grant

Turning Anon asks off

*Hey everyone!

First of all, thank you for this amazing support - I mean, wow! This blog isn’t even two months old and we’ve just reached the magical number of 1,000 followers! We’d never thought this blog would spike this much interest, but obviously it did and we couldn’t be any happier and more excited about it!

As a result, however, we believe it’s better to turn the anon asks off. While some of the anon asks have been the most interesting to answer for us, we hope that we can reduce the amount of asks we receive by this a little bit. Right now, there are far more than 100 open asks in our inbox and while we’d love to answer every single one of them - even if it was just a private message. But anon asks can’t be answered privately and we kinda don’t want to text wall this blog and keep the drawn answers a priority instead. This way, we can reply to you a bit easier. However, there is no guarantee that we can respond to every single one of them. Once again… a lot of asks.

Just be patient. And don’t be disppointed if you don’t get a reply. We are just people and we’re doing this for fun, so… no pressure. <3

Moreover, you don’t need to repeat your ask if it doesn’t get answered after a few days. Sometimes we answer older ones as soon as we have the time. Just. Please don’t spam us. Thank you for your understanding and your amazing support!

I Fought The Law (and the law won)

The Clash / Les Misérables 1972 fanvideo

I guess it’s obvious by now that I have no focus. So yeah, I made a music video. Instead of continuing any unfinished projects of which I have way too many.

This song played in my brother’s wedding (my little brother got married ;;;___;;; *still not over the shock*) and it stuck in my head until yesterday I was like “hey, this would make a good Les Mis music video”. And then I checked if anybody had made one already and yep! Watch that one too if you like the idea.

But well, I already kinda had my own idea and I thought I’d make one of the 1972 miniseries. (No surprises there.) Although I cheated a bit: there’s one kind of a jarring clip from the 1958 film. It would be better if it didn’t have a totally different aspect ratio but I didn’t know how to convert it.

I have to admit that music videos really aren’t something I’ve done a lot and especially not recently so… that might show. Sorry. I think I could still make this better but I’m kind of tired of editing. (Again, no focus.) I am still pretty happy with how it turned out, though? At least right now… of course after a month or so I might hate it.

Also warning: Lot’s of death scenes. ALL OF THE DEATH SCENES. (Well not quite all.) Because I’m kind of morbid sometimes. I like to emotionally torture myself.

Edit: I hope this works, it keeps showing to me as “processing”. :/

Project complete!

Hey guys! Nora and I are finally finished with the cookbook, which was one of our main tasks for the internship. We’ve also managed to travel around a bit while doing the finishing touches of the book, as we would get the feedback from our supervisor over email anyway. It’s been a lot of fun making it, and looking thought it, I’m very happy with the results and everything we’ve learned in the process!

Our supervisor and owner of the retreat wanted us to make a cookbook for the guests to better explain the Ayurvedic theories and cooking concepts as they mostly come from Western backgrounds and it can be difficult for them to fully understand how the food served is beneficial and balanced. This is important for the outcome of their stay, and the recipes will be of help for maintaining their lifestyle changes after. Ishara mentioned that a lot of guests have been questioning the food as they have different understandings of what is healthy and what is Ayurveda, and we also noticed that there was a gap in their understanding while talking to the guests. Due to this, we decided to make a large part of the cookbook an introduction to Ayurveda, its nutrition and cooking concepts. Here you can see some of the first few pages:

There’s also a section comparing the Eastern and Western nutrition guidelines, as I’ve wrote about in the previous blog post.

Further, the cookbook is divided into four sections: breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. We have included preferred timing of the meal and the reason for is, and under each section all the recipes that has been served at the Villa while we have been here.

Each recipe page includes ingredients and method, which has been written down from our observations of the staff cooking. Measurements had to be estimated as they do these based on feeling, and from Googling similar recipes and talking with staff. We also wanted to link the ingredients back to nature, so we always included a picture of it in its raw form as well as the finished dish. Additionally, we included text about its origin, traditions and how the meal is considered nutritious and balanced according to Ayurveda.

In total, 39 recipes and 52 pages. Everything we’ve written went through a lot of stages of research and writing, and approval from the Doctors, and rewriting. It was a lot of work, but we feel it was a perfect task for our internship as we learned a lot about Ayurveda and also got experience in communicating something health promoting to the guests, based on their needs. We are just now waiting for the final approval and feedback from our supervisor, then we will send it off to the long list of guests that has been asking us to send it to them so they can make the recipes at home.

Until next and my final posts, Namaste!

day 2 of my 100 day comic challenge!! this one’s for anyone who ever felt unattractive - this is a pretty personal, intense, and unreasonable comic.

this is pretty much a trail of thought i had yesterday. I tried to make the dialogue conversational. i kept a lot more mistakes in than I usually would..

I really have a lot of trouble with feeling this way (as a lot of fiends may know) i’m working on it. I also think it’s crumby that people with a certain look always get pegged as being ‘evil’ (nothing new there, but you know- it sucks)

thinking about this; ‘internal and external beauty’ - sort of made me feel a bit better. sorry for all the intense personal stuff, but hey.

Reaction: late for the date and find you sleeping on the couch

“nevermind…” *kneels down beside you and watches you sleep*

Hanbin would feel pretty guilty about being late, especially because you prepared everything etc. for the little date at home. When he spots you sleeping on the couch, he can’t help smiling and stand there in awe because somehow seeing you like this after the hard day would make him feel calm and happy. Eventually, he’ll fall asleep beside you because he didn’t want to wake you up.

Actually Bobby thought you might still have your date, although he is completely late, so seeing you asleep would be a bit disappointed in the beginning but then he’d just see you peacefully sleeping there and it would make him feel better. He can’t help but smile and feel guilty for making you wait so long. Bobby will carry you to the bed, give you a soft kiss on the temple while making a mental note to himself to definitely make this up.

Yunhyeong

“you’re already asleep?”

/to himself/ “why are you so cute?” *sighs*

Yunhyeong also feels extremely guilty and sad that he couldn’t make it in time because he was looking forward to it all day long. Seeing you sleep on the couch would add up to his guilt because you were probably waiting for him, however a little smile would come to his lips anyway because he thinks it’s adorable how you fell asleep on the couch and take out his phone to take a picture of you before putting a blanket over your body.

Jinhwan is actually relieved to see you sleeping peacefully on the couch and that you didn’t force yourself to stay awake until he came back. Of course he feels sorry as well but seeing your sleeping face would blow any negative thoughts away and he just has to give you a small kiss before thinking that he’ll make this up tomorrow.

I still have random times where I hate things and feel like dying would be better than living, but overall things lately have been great. I’ve not gotten to see @not-quite-rapunzel in a bit but hopefully I will soon because she is the light of my life and one of the few people I’ve met that even just the thought of “hey you have this awesome friend here no matter what” that messages me like she instantly knows I’m upset at times and it makes me smile.
I’ve made some great new friends lately and I’m almost done paying off school for this semester. My grades aren’t that great but I can get them up if I buckle down and work harder on stuff at home.
I think I’m just really tired and some old memories and friends are trying to find their way back into my life when they don’t need to.
I won’t let them in.

hey just a little tip for anyone wanting to be a better friend or ally: if your trans/nb friend isn’t out and has a new name then use their name in conversation more than you would with a cis person because they probably get called their birth name all day so its nice to maybe alleviate their dysphoria a little bit and make them happy and acknowledge that they are valid & loved.

Concerning Nathan Prescott...

And beating him up.

Maybe it’s a bit late to even be bringing this up but hey, better late than never right?

The first time I saw this scene, I thought to myself “huh, you can beat him up? well the guy had it coming so…”

And I thought it would be a thing that wouldn’t be that be a huge deal anyway. I mean c’mon, Nathan is the one who is always bullying everyone else.

Wow, was I wrong.

I was not expecting Nathan to just lay there and take the beating. He is one of the most aggressive characters in the game, he’s got to fight back at least a little, right?

NOPE.

He just takes it all, all while crying and apologizing, virtually begging Warren to stop.

I think it was the crying that threw me off. Nathan, the guy who’s exterior that has been hard, hard, hard

I guess what breaks him is physical violence. And I don’t think it’s the first time this has happened to him.

Now, note I am in no way trying to excuse any of Nathan’s actions. I honestly think this kid has got some bad karma coming his way and he’ll get it. But beating him up isn’t the way to go.

Like Max said - “Even if Nathan defiantly deserved a beating…we can be better than that.”

So clearly I intervened. For multiple reasons -

01. Warren isn’t that kind of person. Seriously, he’s way better than that. He seems even more disturbed than he already was in that episode if you let him go through with beating up Nathan.

02. In beating up Nathan, you are stooping just as low as him, or anyone else who isn’t above physical violence.

03. Just the way Nathan reacted to it. The crying, the apologizing, the way it seemed like he couldn’t breath, the asking to stop multiple times.

04. This particular expression of his got to me the most…

Like gdi, it looks like he’s looking toward you, the player, for help of any kind.

05. And for my final reason slash tiny thought/theory. I think you might have to convince Nathan of something in the next episode. Or if Nathan is the one to help Max out of the Dark Room…it could be determined by what sort of choices you made concerning him.

Such as -

Did you report him? Get him suspended? And did you let Warren continue to beat him up?

I don’t know…but I just hope Max can s o m e h o w find common ground with Nathan next episode.

Please excuse my late night musings. Hopefully this made sense all the way through, but I just wanted to put these thoughts out there.

So I tried to think a bit more about the pirate au because pirates are great.

Rick would just happen to visit the harbor city where Beth and Jerry live with their kids. They are struggling a lot to feed them, so when Rick arrives, Beth decides that they will be better off with him. The idea doesn’t rejoice any of them, but Rick ends up saying yes. What Beth didn’t know was that Rick was actually a pirate, but hey ? Whatever.

It’s just some first thoughts about that AU, once again if anyone wanna propose anything, I’d be really happy to know what you think :)

And here I made a little comic strip haha.

I’m sorry… I can’t stop drawing the Turtles!!!!>______< drawing the 2012 version is kinda fun and the coloration turned out to be better then I thought it would be…. The only Thing that I don’t like is the background… Bit messy… But Hey!!! It was fun and my nephew likes it!!!! ;-)
