Waking up in the morning to an empty bed was not how I wanted to start this day out. I wanted to wake up with Jace by my side, a good morning kiss, and a happy birthday. But I’m not surprised to wake up alone. Everything is different now that Clary has showed up.

When she first showed up I felt bad for her. All her life, her mother had lied to her about who she was. Clary had been thrown head first into this world and had her mother taken from her. Like Jace, I wanted to help her, but as the days went on, I started to resent the girl. She didn’t seem to care that we all had rules that needed to be follow, nor did she seem to care that she could end up getting us killed.

Rolling over onto my back, I stare up to the ceiling and let out a loud breath before climbing out of bed and making my way the the bathroom to get ready. I wash my face and brush my teeth before putting on the little makeup that I wore. I knew that I wasn’t a beautiful as Izzy, and I always felt that Jace could do better than me; no matter how many times he told me he loved me. I pulled my Y/H/C hair up into a ponytail, letting the shorter parts of my hair frame my face.

Walking back into the bedroom, I move the the wardrobe and pull out a pair of dark wash skinny jeans and a faded black tank top along with some combat boots before making my way to the kitchen. I was hoping that Izzy didn’t make me anything to eat again. How Alec and Jace can  manage to eat her food is beyond me.

Walking into the the kitchen, I find Alec and Izzy in the middle of their breakfasts. When they look up and see me, they both jump up and give me a hug.

“Happy birthday, Y/N!” Izzy says to me before letting me go.

“Yeah, happy birthday, Y/N. Izzy was going to make you some breakfast, but I stopped her.” Alec whispers, but Izzy hears him and turns around to slap his arm. I thankfully grab a box of cereal.

“You know, Y/N, that cereal isn’t good for you. It has a lot of sugar in it.”

“Your point, Alec?” I say to him with a glare, not needing to say anything else.

“Have you seen Jace? He wasn’t in the room when I woke up.”

“Did you check the training room?” Alec suggests.

“No, I came right here. I was hungry. I’ll look there when I finish.”  I fall silent as I listen to Izzy talk about this dress that she saw the other day.

“I’ll go with you to get it, Izzy.” I turn and put my bowl into the sink.

“Really!” Izzy says as she looks over to me.

“Sure, I don’t have anything to do today other than train. We just have to be back by ten. I have a mission to go on with Jace. And I was hoping that you could help me find a new dress. My last one got ruined on my last mission.”

“Sure! Let me go grab my purse, then we can go.”

“Can you grab mine? It’s the one on the desk chair.”

“Yeah, I’ll meet you in the control room.” She walks out of the kitchen.

“Hey, Y/N. I got you something for your birthday.” Alec says as he walks closer to me to hand me an envelope with my name written across it.

“Alec, you didn’t have to!” I smile as I look up to him. I open up the envelope and pull out the card. What the card says brings tears to my eyes.

Sisters are forever, and I’m glad you’re mine. I wish that your birthday brings you lots of amazing moments!

“Thank you Alec!” I say as I jump up and hug him. “You’re the best brother a girl could ask for.” Alec’s cheeks have turned a lovely shade of pink by the time I pull away from the hug.

“This is for you to get a new dress too.” Alec says as he pulls out two hundred dollars and hands me the bills.

“Alec, it’s too much. I can’t take that.” The Clave paid us well for working at the institute, but it was still a lot of money.

“Yes, you can. It’s not everyday you turn twenty-one.” Alec says as he take the envelope out of my hand and puts the money in it.

“Thank you.” I whisper as I take it back. “I’ll see you later. We can all have dinner together?” I mean for it to be a statement, but it comes out more as a question.

“Sure, we can get you favorite tonight.”

“Sounds great! I’m going to go find Jace before I leave.” I kiss Alec on the cheek before leaving the kitchen. I quickly walk to the training room. Walking around the corner and into the training room, I can feel my heart break the second I lay eyes on Jace. He isn’t training like I was expecting him to be, but instead, kissing Clary.

I leave as quietly as I can, not wanting to be seen or heard. I walk to the control room where I find Izzy waiting for me. I force a smile onto my face as I walk up to her.

“What took you so long?” Izzy asks as she hands me my purse before looping her arm with mine.

“Oh, Alec gave me a birthday card.” I move to put it into my purse only to have her grab it out of my hand. She pulls the card out, seeing the money and the message.

“He’s right, you know. You are an amazing sister.”

I smile for a moment.

“Did you find Jace?”

The smile fades. Deciding that I didn’t want to lie to her, I tell her a portion of the truth.  “Yeah, he was in the training room.” I just leave out the part that creates a pit in my stomach.

We decide to walk to the shop that Izzy saw the dress in, and leave the glamour’s off. I can feel everyone we pass staring at us. Well, staring at Izzy. Izzy does most of the talking as we walk, not that I mind at the moment, but I don’t hear anything that she says. As we arrive at the little shop and make our way in, I look around. Izzy points to one side of the shop, letting me know that she will be over there. I nod my head before walking to the other side of the shop. I don’t find anything that I like when Izzy walks over with her arms full of dresses she want to try on.

“I need you to tell me how I look in these.” Izzy grabs my wrist and pulls me to the back to the changing rooms. I take a seat and wait for her to come back out.

“You know, Izzy, you don’t need me to tell you how you look. You look fantastic in everything.”

“I know.” Izzy says as she let out a laugh. Dress after dress, she walks out to show me; always more beautiful than I could ever hope to be. As she finishes, she decides to get two of the dresses she tried on; a midnight blue one and a dark purple one, almost black in some lights.

“Did you find one yet, Y/N?”

“No, I can’t find one that I like. Want to help me look?”

“Sure! I saw a dress when I was looking that I thought that you would just love!” Izzy pulls me over to the dress. She pulls the dress off the rack and I can’t help but gasp when I see it. It’s Y/F/C and flows almost like it’s liquid.

“Like it?”

“Like it, Izzy? It’s so beautiful.”

“Well, let’s go try it on, Y/N.” We walk back to the changing room and once I’m into the dress, I step out to show it to Izzy.

She gasps loudly.

“That bad, Izzy?” I look at myself.

“Bad? You look amazing, Y/N! Jace is going to love that dress.”

Shopping had momentarily pushed what I saw from the front of my mind. Izzy’s comment brings it all back.

“Y/N?”

“I’m fine.” I manage to get out, hoping to sound convincing.

“No, you’re not. One, you’re my best friend, so I know when you are lying and two, you’re crying.”

“It’s nothing.” I turn quickly and walk back into the changing room. I change as fast as I can. I know that this conversation is not over, but I hope to delay it just for a couple more minutes. Walking back out of the changing room, still looking at my feet, Izzy waits for me.

“Y/N, what’s wrong?” Her voice is laced with concern.

“I saw Jace kissing Clary.” I mumble, not sure if she can hear me.

“What!?”

“I said I saw Jace and Clary kissing.” I say again, this time a little louder.

“I-I can’t believe…”

“It’s okay Izzy…”

“No, it’s not! He hurt you! I’m going to make him suffer.” I can hear the real anger in her voice, but alongside it, I can hear great hurt as well.

“Izzy don’t. He’s your brother.” I don’t want to come between them.

“And you’re my best friend!”

“Izzy… Just, can I stay in your room? And please, for the love of the Angel, don’t do anything.” I plead with her.

“Of course, you can stay with me!”

“Thanks, Izzy.”

“ Let’s get these dresses and head home.” We both walk over to the counter, Izzy buys her dresses first. I pay for my dress with some of the money that Alec gave me. With our bags in hand, we leave the store.

“You want to do anything else, Y/N?”

“Honestly, not really. All I want to do is sleep, not much of a birthday today.” I mumble the last part as we start making our way back to the Institute. The walk back is silent and for that I’m thankful. I’m really not in the mood to be talking.

Once back at the Institute, we manage to get back to Izzy’s room without running into Alec, Jace, or Clary. I fall onto the bed to check the time and find that it’s only after one.

“He didn’t even remember.” I say to know one in particular.

“Didn’t remember what?” I hear Izzy say from the other side of the room as she changes into something to go train in.

“My birthday. Jace still hasn’t wished me happy birthday.” I mumble knowing that she can hear me.

“I’m so sorry, Y/N.”

“It’s fine Izzy. It’s not like you made them kiss,” I kick my shoes off before pulling my jeans off and climbing into Izzy’s bed.

“I can stay here with you, Y/N, if you want.”

“No, I’ll be fine. Go and train with Alec. I can always text you if I need you.” I say to her in what I hope is a convincing way.

“You sure…”

“Yes, Izzy. I’m just going to take a nap.”

“Okay.” She says heading to the door. She turns the lights off before leaving me alone. Finally alone, I start to cry; body shaking sobs, rip their way past my lips. My eyes sting as tears make their way down my cheeks soaking the pillow that I am holding to my chest. Curled into the fetal position, I cry for what feels like hours before my tears dry up and I have nothing left to cry out. I fall into a restless sleep, having cried myself out.

I must have slept longer than I planned because when I wake up, it’s dark out. I can hear whispered voices in the room. My head is pounding, making even the whispered voice seem like yelling.

“Alec, she just doesn’t feel well.”

“She was fine this morning, so stop lying to me. I can tell she’s been crying. I’m not stupid.” Alec whisper yelled back at Izzy.

“You’re talking really loud.” I get up. My throat feels like someone has taken sandpaper to it.

“What’s the matter, Y/N?” Alec asks me as he walks closer to the bed and sitting down next me me.

“Nothing that is important.” I mumble not wanting to talk about it.

“I know that’s not true, Y/N.” Alec says to me as he places a hand on my shoulder. I can feel tears sting at my eyes again as I turn over in the bed to look at Alec.

“I-I … Izzy I don’t w-want t-to…”
“Can I tell him?” Izzy cuts me off and I just nod yes and bury my head in my hands as the tears once again make their way down my cheeks.

“She saw Jace and Clary kissing today.” At the mention of Jace’s name, a sob breaks its way past my lips.

“He what! I’m going to kill him.” Alec pulls me up and sits me on his lap. I throw my arms around him and cry into his shoulder. I don’t cry as long this time and manage to calm down faster with Alec and Izzy here with me.

“When did this happen?”

“This morning, after I left the kitchen I went to find him. I guess you can say I found him all right.” I say with a broken laugh

“Did he see you?” Alec asks when I pull back to sit on the bed and wipe my face off.

“Sorry about your shirt.” I notice the stain my eye makeup has left on his shirt. “And no, I left before they saw me.”

“I’m going to kill him.” Alec mumbles again.

“Please don’t.”

He shakes his head, but I still know that he’s going to do something to him. I just don’t know what.

“Can we have chinese for dinner?” I look up to Alec.

“Sure, I’ll go and get it. You both want the usual?”

I nod my head and so does Izzy. Alec walks out of the room soon after.

“Izzy, can I use your bathroom and borrow some pajamas?”

“Sure, why don’t you go get in and I’ll bring you something to wear?” I nod my head in thanks as I make my way to the bathroom, not caring about my state of undress. Once in the bathroom, I turn the water as hot as I can before getting in and letting the water run over my body, turning my skin a pink color almost immediately. I start by washing my face and getting the dried tears off before moving to my body. My hair follows soon after.

Turning off the water, I wrap a towel around my body and step out. I notice that Izzy has been in and placed a set of pajamas out for me. Looks like she gave me one of Alec t-shirts and Y/F/C silk pants. Drying off my body and wrapping the towel around my hair, I pull back on my panties and bra before pulling on the shirt and pants. By the time I leave the bathroom after hanging up my towel, I find Alec has returned with the food. I smile in thanks.

“Feeling better?” Alec asks as I take a seat next to him on Izzy’s bed.

“Some.” I tell him as he hands me my food. Alec and Izzy both try to talk to me every now and then. They manage to get me to smile, but I’m not really in the mood to talk. Looking back at my phone, I see that it is almost ten and I have a mission to go on with Jace, but I don’t think that I can face him.

“Alec, I know it’s a lot to ask, but I’m supposed to go on a mission with Jace and I don’t think that I can handle it right now. Can you go for me?” I hope that he will say yes.

“You don’t have to ask. Of course, I can do this for you.” Alec leaves soon after that to get ready to go on the mission, leaving Izzy and I in the room.

“Izzy, what does Clary have that I don’t?” I ask in a small voice.

“Y/N, don’t compare yourself to Clary. You are beautiful, so very beautiful. I can’t tell you why he did it, but it has nothing to do with you. You are perfect in your own way, trust me.”

I nod my head and lay on her shoulder. I can feel her fingers running through my still damp hair, gently removing any knot that she finds. The gentle motion slowly makes me fall asleep.

Izzy and I wake up the next morning, the the alarm going off on her phone. We both get ready, I pull on the pants and boots that I wore the other day and just tuck Alec’s shirt into the pants. I leave my hair down, not wanting to deal with it.

Izzy takes my hand in hers as we walk to the kitchen to get something to eat. As we get closer to the kitchen, I can hear yelling. Izzy and I find Jace on the ground holding his nose as blood drips down onto his shirt.

“Alec, stop!” I yell, stopping Alec in his tracks before he could hit Jace again. They both turn to look at me when I yell. Alec looks like the kid who got caught with this hand in the cookie jar.

“What is going on!” Jace gets out, but his voice is distorted by his hand. No one answers him. I just move across the kitchen and wet a rag before walking over to him.

“Can I talk to Jace alone?” I ask to Izzy and Alec.

“Sure.” Izzy say before grabbing Alec’s hand and pulling him out of the room.

“Can you tell me why I was just punched in the face?”

“I think we should break up.” My voice sounds so much stronger than I feel. Jace stumbles away from me as if my touch burned him.
“What? I-I don't…” He trails off not knowing what to say.

I can hear the pain in his voice and it’s a stab to my already broken heart. I look down to my hands not wanting him to see the pain in my eyes.

“I saw you kissing Clary yesterday.” When he doesn’t say anything, I look up to him I can see the tears running down his face. And at that moment, I feel nothing but rage.

“What? Have nothing to say! Didn’t expect me to find out? Well, I did! It was a hell of a birthday yesterday.”

“Y/N, you have to believe! I didn’t kiss her. She kissed me! I would never do that to you. I love you!”

“Jace… I want to believe you so badly. I love you so much! But you have been spending so much time with her. You forgot my birthday yesterday. I saw you kiss her… So I don’t believe you.” I walk out of the kitchen and make my way to Alec’s room hoping to find him there. Knocking on the door, it’s pulled open to me.

“Can I come in?” I ask in a small voice.

He steps out of the way and I make my way over to his bed and sit down.

“I broke up with Jace.” I say breaking the silence.

“I am so sorry, Y/N. Are you okay?”

“I’m a bit numb actually… Alec, go take care of  Jace. He needs you. You’re his parabatai.”

He nods his head and walks out of the room. I leave to Izzy’s room. She’s not in there, but knowing she won’t care that I am there, I curl up on the bed, expecting myself to break down once again, but I don’t. I don’t know how long I lay there before there is a knock at the door.

Knowing that if it was Izzy, she would just walk in, so I let them knock again with no plan to answer them, wanting to be alone. They knock again before I hear the door knob turn. Looking over to the door, it’s the last person I want to see.

“What do you want, Clary?”

“Just listen please. Jace didn’t kiss me. I kissed him. I didn’t know that you two were dating or I never would have. He pushed me away. He went looking for you, but never found you. Please he…he is in Alec’s room crying. Just go talk to him.”

“You didn’t know that we were dating?”

“No. I guess I still have a lot to learn about this world that I am now apart of.” She looks down at my feet. “I don’t even know why I kissed him. The only thing I can think of is that he saved my life. I know it doesn’t make up for all of this, but I really am sorry.”

“It’s going to take some time before I’m not angry at you, but thanks for talking to me. And yes, you do have a lot to learn, but I’m willing to help you.” I stand up from the bed.

“So, are we good?” Clary asks me.

“No, not yet. But we will be.” I smile. “ You said he was in Alec’s room?”

She nods her head as I walk past her and out into the hall.

I find Izzy standing there.

“I take it you had something to do with that.” I start to walk down the hall.

“Yeah, she felt so badly about it and I knew you needed to hear it from her and not me. Are you going to go talk to Jace?” There’s hope in her eyes.

“Yeah, but I make no promises.”

She nods her head in understanding as we stop in front of Alec’s room.

I don’t bother to knock on the door before I open it, expecting to find Alec in here as well.  I’m shocked when he isn’t.

“I told you Alec, I just want to be alone.” Jace says in a small and broken voice.

I don’t say anything as I make my way over to the bed. I sit down next to him.

“Clary came and talked to me.” He sits up and turns to look at me so fast that I would’ve believed he had whiplash.

He has tears running down his face before I can think better of it, I reach out and wipe them from his cheeks. Jace just leans into my touch.

“I-I…” I break him off by pulling him to him into a crushing hug. Both of us cling to each other, not wanting to let go of each other.

“I know, love. I forgive you. Can you forgive me?” I say into his hair.

“If you can forgive me, then I can forgive you.” Jace says to me, his voice already sounding stronger.

“Let’s go to bed. We can talk more later.” I grab his hand and pull him from Alec’s room and to ours.

We both strip out of what we’re wearing. I pull on some clean panties and forgo my bra and just pull on one of Jace’s t-shirts before climbing into bed next to him. He falls asleep still clinging to me, but I couldn’t be happier.

I wake up some time later to Jace laying on his back with his hands wrapped around my waist, holding me to him, I hear Alec’s faint whisper to Izzy.

“I think they are going to be just fine.”

MASTERLIST, MOBILE MASTERLIST (you can like it and save it for later!)
—————————————————————————————————-
“LYDIA?!”

“Y/N, just listen to me!” Alec argues, his hands slipping into yours.

You pull away, shoving him, “Did you kiss her? Huh?!”

Alec stares at you, swallowing hard, “Y/N…”

“DID YOU SLEEP WITH HER?!”

Alec stays silent and you right hook him in the face before you can help yourself. He barely moves, his jaw clenched as he rubs at it, “You need to listen to me.”

“No, fuck you,” you spit, shoving past him.

“Y/N!” he spins you around by your arm, “Just let me explain.”

You shove him away, storming out of the room.

“Why didn’t you tell her that we didn’t sleep together?” Lydia asks, appearing in the doorway.

“It’ll make it easier for her to let me go if she thinks we did,” Alec sighs, running his fingers through his hair.

“Trust me, that’ll only hurt her more,” Lydia smiles slightly, “Go after her at least.”Alec nods, turning around but you’re nowhere in sight.
—————————————————————————————————-

Really? Day drinking?” Jace scoffs as he takes a seat beside you, “And in a graveyard?”

“Yeah,” you sigh, sipping from the bottle.

Jace slowly unravels your grip around it, pulling it away, “I think you’ve had enough.”

“I’m not drunk.”

“Yeah but you’re crying and I know you’d never do that sober,” he smiles warmly and you lay your head on his shoulder.

“They’re engaged,”
you croak.

“I heard.”

“He couldn’t even tell me why. At first I thought it was because his mother didn’t like me but when I asked him if they slept together – Jace, he couldn’t even look at me.”

“He wouldn’t do that to you,” Jace reassures you, squeezing your hand slightly.

“Are you sure? Because I never thought he’d secretly get engaged to someone but here we are,” you inhale deeply, “If not for Izzy telling me, I wouldn’t have found out.”

“He would have told you…”

“When? At his engagement party tonight? Or maybe he was going to wait until the night before his wedding, hoping I wouldn’t find out.”

“Y/N…”

“It’s okay – I’m over it,” you sigh, rubbing your nose as you sniffle.

“I know you better than that,” Jace mumbles, his thumb tracing circles into your hand, “You don’t have to act strong.”

“I know – but I have to be strong. There’s no time for this with Valentine being back.”

“Y/N…”

You clear your throat, standing up and dusting off your jeans before stumbling slightly.

Jace catches you by your elbow, “Still going with that not drunk story?”

You can’t help but smile, “Don’t test me Jace. Drunk or not, I can still kick your ass,” you smirk.

“That’s cute,” he chuckles, helping you to stand, “Tell me that when you’re not falling over.”

“Shut up,” you giggle, shoving his chest playfully.

Jace cups your face in both hands, wiping away tears, “You’ll be okay.”

You nod slowly before you both turn around, at the sound of someone clearing their throat.

“Alec,” Jace states, pulling away from you.

“I’ll see you around Jace,” you smile at him, walking past Alec.

“Y/N,” Alec says in frustration, catching you by your wrist and you struggle against his grip.

“Do you mind giving us a moment?” Alec asks and Jace nods, looking at you apologetically before leaving.

“Let me go!” you yell, kicking under Alec’s legs, causing him to tumble to the floor, pulling you down with him.

As you pull yourself up, Alec pulls you back down, pinning you to the floor as he hovers over you.

“WOULD YOU JUST LISTEN TO ME?!”

“DON’T TOUCH ME ALEC!” you scream, struggling against him.

A moment later, Jace was pulling Alec off you, “Enough, both of you!” he yells.

Alec’s eye widen as he watches you rub at the marks on your wrist, “I’m sorry – I didn’t mean to hurt you, I just-“

“Yeah, you never do,” you spit, walking off.

“What the hell is wrong with you man?” Jace asks as Alec’s gaze trails after you.

“I don’t know,” he sighs, before he turns to Jace, “What were you two doing out here?”

“She was getting herself drunk over you – I was just trying to get her home,” Jace explains and Alec nods in understanding.

“Why Lydia? Why get engaged to Lydia? What does she have over you?”

“Nothing.”

“Then it’s true? You slept with her?!

Once again Alec stays silent, his eyes on the floor.

Jace inhales sharply, “You’ve got to be kidding me!” he throw his hands up in the air, “You did not throw away someone like y/n for a one night stand with someone like Lydia.”

I’m getting married to ‘someone like Lydia’,” Alec reminds him and Jace scoffs.

“Oh, that’s right. You slept with her once so now you have to marry her. Yeah, sure, that makes complete sense.”

“Can’t you just try understand?”“I’m not the one who needs convincing, Alec! That girl has done nothing but love you. She almost died for you!”

“Do you think I don’t know that?!”

“Then why?!” Jace steps closer, “Why do this to her? It doesn’t make any sense.”

“Because I have to! It’s what’s right. I need to marry Lydia to create a balance! It’s the right thing!” Alec yells.

“You’re doing this for your family?” Jace mumbles and Alec shakes his head, “I’m doing this because of my family. Our parents were Circle members, Jace.”

“So?”

“So, I’m doing what’s necessary!”

“Are you listening to yourself?”

“It doesn’t matter. Y/N will understand,” Alec states, “She has to understand.”

“She won’t
,” Jace replies, his jaw clenched, “I sure as hell don’t.”
—————————————————————————————————-

“Y/N!”

“Simon!” you squeal as he pulls you into a hug, twirling you around before cringing, “Why do you smell like a bar?”

“Probably because I hit all of them on the way here.”

“What’s going on?”

“Nothing,” you force a smile, “I do, however, want to know if there are any cool down worlder parties you could sneak me into!”

“I don’t think that’s such a good idea…”

“Oh, come on Simon!” you whine, tugging at his arm.

“There is one. But you have to promise to blend in. Shadowhunters, as you know, aren’t really the most liked beings amongst vampires.”

“Got you,” you wink.

“And steer clear of Raphael.”

You hold out a pinkie and Simon entwines his with yours.

“I don’t think a trench coat is the best party attire though,” Simon mumbles and you smirk, untying the sash and showing him your dress underneath.

“Whoa…”

“I know,” you wink at him, “Perfect amount of boobs and legs, plus look how good these heels make me look!”

Simon just nods, his jaw hanging, “Now you’re just making me blush,” you laugh.

“Where are we headed?”

“Pandemonium.”

By the time you get in it’s almost midnight and you’d already had half a dozen guys rub up against you on your way to the bar.

“I didn’t order this,” you call to the bartender over the slow thump of music and he nods towards a boy sitting at the end of the bar who walks towards you.

“What are you doing here, Jace?”

“Making sure you’re not doing anything this stupid,” he looks you up and down, “This definitely constitutes as stupid.”

“It was either this or having drinks at Hotel Dumort with all the vamps.”

You would have been the drinks.”

“Yeah, well, beats drinking alone in a graveyard,” you shrug, taking a sip of the drink, “You remembered my favourite.”

Jace smiles at you, “You have to go back to the institute sooner or later.”

“Later. Way later. There’s no way I’m hanging around for Alec’s stupid engagement party.”

“Fine, but I’m staying until you leave.”

You hold up your drink, toasting it to him before drinking the rest of it.

Jace laughs and you feel your heart beat a little faster. You shake your head, grabbing his hand and dragging him into the crowd.

“Is this seriously making you feel better?” he calls over the music as you sway with the rhythm and you close your eyes, nodding as you let yourself relax.

Just as you’re finally winding down a girl behind you spills her drink all over you, “Oh my god, I’m so sorry!” she apologizes and you shake your head, “It’s alright!” you reassure her, heading towards the bathroom.

“You can’t follow me in here,” you giggle as Jace follows you in.

“This is a club with down worlders… I’ll follow you into the stall if I have to.”

You roll your eyes, grabbing paper towels and patting your dress down.“Maybe not your best idea to wear a white dress,” Jace swallows hard and you look in the mirror, noticing most of your drenched dress had gone see through.

Jace pulls off his jacket, placing in on your shoulders and pulling it tighter to cover you up.

“Thanks,” you stutter and Jace raises a brow, “I’ve seen you close to naked before, no need to be shy,” he laughs, crossing his arms over his chest.

“Right,” you mumble, sliding onto the bathroom counter.

“We’re not going back out there?”

“We will, I just need a breather. You can go out there if you want. Now might be your chance to go flirt with that girl who spilled this drink on me. She’s been staring at you all night and I’m pretty sure that drink was aimed at you until I stepped in the way – either that or she was hoping I would leave and didn’t expect you to follow me in here,” you laugh.

“Not interested,” Jace shrugs and you look at him in surprise, “Are you kidding me? She was totally gorgeous. Did you see her legs?!”

Jace steps between your legs as they dangle from the counter, placing his hands on your calves, “I prefer your short little legs,” he laughs and you roll your eyes, placing your arms loosely around his neck so they’re resting on his shoulders, “Liar.”

“I’m not lying.”

“Then you’re flirting,” you scoff before you notice his expression.

“So what if I am?”
he asks, one hand moving up your thigh and then resting on your waist.

“Then nothing,” you mumble, closing the distance between the two of you as Jace leans in, heatedly pulling your lips against his, your heavy breathing filling the room.

Just as you pull away the bathroom door bursts open, Isabelle standing in the doorway, her eyes wide at the sight of the two of you.

“I don’t even want to know,” she sighs, “You’re wanted back at the Institute – both of you.”

“No thanks,” you scoff and Isabelle looks at you seriously, “Right now we need to present a united front to the Clave. I know you don’t want to be at the engagement party, but the Council will be arriving shortly and Alec will look bad if his parabatai isn’t there.”

“Then why can’t Jace just go?”

“I won’t leave without you,” Jace whispers, giving your hand a squeeze, “And you can’t avoid Alec forever,” Isabelle finishes.

You slowly nod, sliding off the counter. Isabelle hovers in the doorway, letting Jace go out first before pulling you back slightly, “What exactly did I just walk in on?”

“Nothing worse then what Alec did to me, Izzy,” you sigh and she looks at you apologetically, “Sorry I asked,” she grumbles.

As you reach the Institute, you’re greeted by Alec’s family, “The three of you are very late,” Maryse says, her brows furrowed together.

“Sorry mother,” Isabelle apologizes. Maryse barely notices her as she studies you, “Not exactly what I’d wear to a wedding engagement the Council is attending,” she leers in disapproval.

“Well that’s just too fucking bad, isn’t it?” you state and her eyes widen, “Excuse me?”

Alec’s mother had never liked you but at least now you had no reason to want her to look at you favourably.

“It’s time to cut the cake,” Alec pulls her aside, his eyes not leaving you.

“To the happy couple!” Maryse toasts and Alec and Lydia entangle themselves in a long and vaguely sickening kiss.

Alec doesn’t look at you during his entire speech but Jace stays close to you, his fingers entwined with yours for support. Once he and Lydia finish speaking about ‘love’ and ‘responsibility’, everyone disperses into separate conversations.

“I need to get out of this dress,” you mumble to Isabelle and she nods.

“Want any help with that?”
Jace teases as you walk away and you roll your eyes at his self-satisfied smirk.

Hey,” he quickly spins you around, “Are we going to talk about what happened tonight?”

You hesitate before answering, “When I get back. This dress is suffocating me more than listening to those speeches,” you laugh nervously before heading off.

You savour the silence in the hallways before you head into your room. Just as you try to shut the door, a hand holds it open.

“Alec,” you say in surprise, trying to stand further away so he doesn’t smell the alcohol in your breath.

“Don’t bother,” he sighs, “Izzy already told me you were at Pandemonium… with Jace.”

“She told you we kissed, didn’t she?”

His eyes widen, “YOU WHAT?!”

“Oh please, you slept with someone else. There’s no way you’re going to make me feel bad!”

“I DIDN’T SLEEP WITH LYDIA!”

“WELL YOU SURE AS HELL DIDN’T HAVE A PROBLEM STICKING YOUR TONGUE DOWN HER THROAT IN FRONT OF HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE! IN FRONT OF MY FRIENDS AND MY FAMILY! DO YOU KNOW HOW THAT FELT?”

“I’m sorry,” he whispers, “I never meant to hurt you.”

“Did you think that sleeping with another girl and then announcing your engagement without having the decency to tell me wouldn’t hurt me?!”

“I didn’t sleep with her – y/n, I promise, I didn’t sleep with her.”

“Then why are you marrying her? Did I do something wrong?”

Alec shakes his head, pulling your hands into his, “No, of course not. It’s for my family, I have to do this.”

You rest your head against his chest, taking in a deep breath before pulling away, “Maybe I should go,” you mumble.

“W-what?”

“I can’t be here for this. It’s too painful Alec.

“So you’re just going to disappear for the next 6 months and come back after I’m married?”

“I’m not coming back,” you mumble, placing a hand on his cheek, “I love you Alec,” you smile, “But I’m not doing this with you – not anymore.”

“Because of Jace?”

“Even if it is, what does it change?”

“Everything,” he takes a deep breath, “If it’s because of Jace that you’re leaving me, then you have to tell me.”

“I’m leaving because you’re getting married!”

“You would never want to leave my side, no matter what I did. You would never abandon me! What changed?”

“I’m not abandoning you. Kissing Jace just made me realize that there’s no point in me going through the pain of watching you be with someone else. I want to be happy too, Alec.”

“With Jace?”

“I didn’t say that.”

“Then stay. I’ll find a way out of this.”

“How?”

“Somehow. I can’t be without you. I realize that now.”

“It’s too late, Alec. There’s no way out of it.”

“We can run away…together. Isn’t that what you always wanted?”

“Alec…”

“So which is it? Me or Jace?”

Next morning i woke up alone in my own bed. I had been hanging out with Axl last night after the party and trying to forget what exactly happened. I didn’t get myself drunk at the party nor did Axl, we both were probably a bit tipsy though but not too much at all. We had played board games, chatted and joked and when we finally were watching movie, which was like 2 am already, i managed to pass out on the couch next to Axl.

I wonder if he already left back his home, i thought and got up from my bed. I was still wearing the top i wore last night so i changed it to a more comfortable black t-shirt which had a Led Zeppelin logo on it. I had already changed the skirt i had last night to a nice pair of sweatpants.

I went to brush my teeth and thus opened the door to bathroom. But then i saw Axl standing in front  the mirror drying his long strawberry blonde hair, drops of water running down his body. It took me a while to actually realise that he was fully naked.

”Oh my god i’m so sorry! I didn’t know you were still here,” i exclaimed and quickly turned around, not facing him anymore.

He just chuckled, threw his towel over his left shoulder. I became a bit startled when he suddenly was standing right behind me and laid his hands on my shoulders. My heart had started to pump faster when his face came closer to mine.

”Oh, don’t tell me you didn’t like what you saw,” he murmured with a surprisingly low voice to my ear and i felt his amused smile. ”We could just continue where we left off last time after the bar night a while ago. Jon doesn’t have to know.”

I inhaled sharply air in my lungs. I didn’t move and i must admit, just his voice made me already feel really aroused.

”You can’t even imagine what kind of things i could do to you. After being with me, Jon would feel like a beginner compared to me. The pleasure i could give to you would blow your damn mind.”

Fuck, can my body please control itself. Stupid woman hormones, shh this isn’t what you want. You’re with Jon, this feels too wrong. One side of me just wanted to turn around and take him right here and right now but my brain tried to assure me it wasn’t right. I quickly shook my head and stepped away from Axl.

”No, no, no,” i laughed nervously and held my hands up, facing him again. He finally decided to put his towel around his waist. ”It’s not gonna happen, don’t even dream of it. I thought we were already over with the bar night.” I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes. I tried my best to not look at him on his eyes. Jesus, woman. Try to control yourself.

He just laughed when he saw my reaction, i noticed how much he enjoyed teasing me. ”I was only joking, honey. I’d never let you cheat Jon with anyone, he seems like a great guy,” he said, winked and grabbed his clothes. ”But if you two ever break up and you change your mind… You know where to find me.” He winked again smirking and closing the door after him and left.

God, why is he like that?

Later in the afternoon i promised to meet Steven at the studio, the other boys were doing other stuff somewhere else so it was just the two of us. I had been practicing how to play drums for weeks already, i really wanted to become a drummer as well. Steven had been seriously the best teacher ever. I had tried playing drums a few times when i was younger but i just didn’t have enough time to concentrate or something. I don’t even remember.

I was now trying to play Nightrain and i almost nailed it but not as well as Steven obviously. I finished the song and waited for Steven’s reaction but he looked like he had listened probably just half of it or if anything at all.

”Hey, Amy?” Steven asked and stood up. ”Can i ask you something?” He looked a bit unsure and tried to avoid eye contact with me for some reason.

”Yeah? Is everything alright?” i asked worried.

He scratched his neck with his right hand and was quiet for a moment until quickly shook his head. ”No, it’s stupid. Nevermind, let’s just continue,” he said and sat on a chair next to me.

”Noo, please, you can tell me anything,” i said and squeezed his hand reassuringly which made him look at me. I furrowed my eyebrows.

”I don’t know if i want to talk about this to Axl, Slash, Izzy or Duff so could you please not tell them about this?” he asked and i just nodded and let a quick ‘of course’ out of my mouth. ”I mean, it’s just. There’s this one girl –”

”Oh my god! Is my Stevie having a crush?” i asked excitedly and hugged him tightly which made Steven blush and eventually look like as red as a tomato.

”No, shut up! I didn’t say that,” he said in panic and when he noticed that i was listening attentively, he had courage to continue. ”It’s just, she’s the most beautiful woman i’ve ever met. I like everything about her, seriously. Her smile, her laugh… She’s just amazing overall.” He scratched his neck again and laughed nervously. ”God, i sound such a cliché.”

I giggled a bit but the look Steven gave me was a sign for me to shut my mouth. ”Well, have you told about your feelings to her? You should definitely ask her out.”

He sighed. ”No, i haven’t told her and i’m not going to do so.”

”Why not?” i asked confused. ”I’m sure she likes you as much as you like her.”

”No, she doesn’t. She’s already in a relationship with someone else, i can’t ruin that and embarrass myself,” he huffed and rolled his eyes. ”I just wanted to get this out of my chest, i needed to talk to someone and you feel like the right person.”

”Well, that sucks. I’m really sorry,” i said and caressed his back with my hand.

He smiled a bit. ”Yeah.”

”Do i know her?” i asked curiously. ”What’s her name?”

He was quiet and held his breath for a while until eventually decided to answer my question. ”Yeah, you know her but the name isn’t important right now,” he said nervously.

”Well, if you ever want to talk about it, i’m here okay,” i said smiling. Steven turned his head to look at me.

”Thanks, Amy,” he said, was quiet for a while and i did the same. Soon he smiled widely, stood up again and changed the subject. ”So, let’s stop this girly talk. Shall we continue before the others come back?”

It was about 6 pm and i was taking a walk with Axl. We were walking down the street, both quiet for a while. There weren’t many other passers-by near us, just a few. I had my hands in my pockets and Axl put a cigarette between his teeth and lighted it. He offered me one too but i decided to refuse this time. I wasn’t sure if i should have taken the incident what happened in the morning part of the conversation but he seemed to be fine ignoring it so i did the same.

”Don’t you ever just want to pack your bags and go to see the world?” i asked suddenly after a long silence and got his attention. He looked at me and smiled.

”Yeah of course. I’ve wanted to do it too many times,” Axl said.

”I’ve never stepped outside of the US. I want to travel, i want to see the world,” i said smiling widely and looked at the sky. ”I’ve never had money to travel, all of my friends had travelled atleast to like, three different countries and i was always so jealous because i had to stay at home all the time.”

”Well, you can totally come to our tours with us in the future. I couldn’t just leave you here,” he told me and chuckled which made me smile. ”And, when i become a rich rock star, i’ll take you anywhere you want,” he stated very proudly which made me laugh a bit. ”I’ll take you to Italy, England and even Australia. Eventually we’re gonna end up eating baguettes and drinking wine at the top of the Eiffel Tower some day for sure,” he said and winked.

”Oh stop with the lies, it’s gonna eventually be just beer in some cheap French bar full of old drunk French men,” i giggled and Axl just shrugged but had to agree. ”But i’ll remember that okay,” i stated and pointed at him with my finger. ”You owe me a trip to Australia some day.” He looked at me, pondering it for a while and narrowing his eyes.

”Okay, well, how about this,” Axl started. ”After 5 years in 1991, on this exact day, i will knock on your apartment’s door and soon we’re already sitting in an airplane heading to Sydney, just the two of us or with the other guys as well, whatever you want.”

I looked at his eyes, smile creeping its way on my face. ”Promise?”

He smiled and offered his hand which i grabbed almost immediately. ”I promise.” We stayed quiet for a while.

”Oh by the way, when’s your next gig?” i asked, breaking the short silence, and looked at him. He looked at me quickly back before he lighted a new cigarette.

”Oh, it’s in two days. You should come to watch it. The audience isn’t big but it’s something,” he said and chuckled.

”Well, i promise to be there,” i said smiling and nodded.

”Can i ask you a question?” he said suddenly. ”I’m just curious.”

”Yeah, ask away.”

”Have you been at our concerts before like, at bigger concerts than just at a bar or something?” he asked and chuckled. I chuckled as well.

”Just one. I think you found the ticket in which i was,” i said and smiled. ”It was really really great, seriously. I hadn’t had an opportunity to go to other concerts. I was born a bit too late for that,” i said laughing and rolled my eyes. It made Axl laugh a bit too.

But then i thought back at the day the concert was and the moments i stood there next to Amelie and Leo, spilled my water on some random guy’s neck, cried during Don’t Cry and cried even more during the last song, This I Love. I tried to remember the words Axl said before the song and when i finally realised who it was dedicated, i tried to hold my tears. How didn’t i realise it until just now? Soon Axl noticed that i hadn’t heard what he had said to me a few seconds ago.

”Amy? Are you alright?” Axl asked concerned and i looked at him.

”It was about me?” i whispered but Axl was now even more confused than a minute ago.

”What was about you?” he asked again but didn’t have time to say anything else since i put my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. He furrowed his eyebrows but put his arms around me as well. ”Hey, what’s wrong?”

”Nothing,” i said and closed my eyes. ”You know i love you so much, right? I love all of you and i don’t know what i’d do without you.”

He was still really confused what had gotten into me but tried to smile. ”Yeah, i love you too, Amy.” He kept a short pause and whispered, ”I love you more than you can even imagine.”

It had been a long day for the both of you, as you and Alec had been scattered around New York, while Jace and Izzy had been nowhere in sight all day.

So when you finally managed to sit down together Alec was more than willing to cuddle up to you.

Currently you were lying on the sofa in Alec’s room, him resting his head on your chest, as he had a habit of doing, claiming your boobs was «soft as marshmallows». Although he claimed he just liked it for the feel, every time you cuddled like this you ended up in a hot make out session.

Today was no different, as you found yourself under Alec in no time, him kissing you softly, his hands raking your body. It was times like this when Alec fully let himself go and didn’t stress about everything going on. And the feeling was mutual, nothing relaxed your muscles more than this.

Alec started to trail kisses down your jaw, continuing down your neck, probably leaving marks for tomorrow for everyone to see. His jacked was quickly discarded off along with your own.

«As beautiful as ever.» Alec breathed out as he leaned down to kiss your lips again, deepening the kiss as soon as you let him. Your own hands began to wander, feeling every curve on his body.

You parted your legs, allowing his hips to dip down between them.

Before you could get any further Isabelle and Jace bursted through the door, making you both stop in your track, but not pulling away as this had happened too many times for any of you to bother covering up what you were doing.

«Y/n, I need to talk to you, now.» Izzy demanded, and you sighed audible. «

Alec, can I talk to you for a minute.» Jace directed himself to Alec, having turned to Alec more frequently when he had trouble with Clary after you and Alec got together.

You both sat up and you were the first one to stand up, giving Alec a peck on the lips as you picked up your jacket.

«We’ll continue this later.» You whispered to him.

«Can’t wait, babe.» He replied as you walked over to Izzy, wrapping a arm around her shoulders as she started to tell you about what her current lover just did.

Calvin X Reader - Distraction - Chapter 2

A/N Hey guys! This took me forever to write so I hope you enjoy! Requested by anon.

Chapter 1

The bell sounded, causing you to look up, having been laying your head in your arms, eyes shut, and trying your best to nap. You stood, watching as the students around you began to pack up their bags and walk out of the classroom, chatting up a storm.

Being new to this school, you didn’t know near enough to take this first test, so Mr. Myers gave you the option to take the test if you were confident, or stay quiet. You chose the latter, having little to know knowledge on the subject, especially since you and Calvin’s last study session didn’t go quite as planned, since you spent hours talking about yourselves rather than world history.

Though you were glad that you had the entire period to sleep, you felt groggy as you stood, slinging your backpack over your shoulder, and looking back at the desk behind you, a lanky boy passed out in the space.

Rolling your eyes you put your hand on his shoulder and shook him lightly but got no response, just a small murmur from his sleepy lips. Looking at the boy laying there, face wrapped in his arms, you wondered if he had gotten any sleep the night before, seeing he was out cold.

You shook him a few more times to no avail, before finally banging your fist on his desk and calling his name in a final attempt to wake him up, “Calvin! Wake the fuck up. It’s time to go!”

Quickly, the boys head shot up, looking from you to the empty desks around him. At the realization that the school wasn’t under attack, and the world wasn’t ending the boy calmed, letting his body relax, and flashing a glare in your direction.

“What the fuck, [Y/N]? I was sleeping good.” Calvin whined, reaching his arms behind him to stretch out his aching limbs.

You rolled your eyes, and flashed a sly smile, “Well I’m glad you slept good, but its time to go. Did you even finish your test?” you asked, realizing  how the boy had been sleeping much like you, though he had a test to take while you didn’t.

Calvin shrugged, looking done at the paper that had been smashed under his face, the test slightly wrinkled.

“I mean I took it, but I didn’t know anything.” Calvin confessed, standing up, and slinging his book bag over his shoulder.

You gawked at the boy, watching as he picked up his test and walking over to the teachers desk, where he set his paper on top of the stack, you trailing not far behind him.

“You didn’t know anything?” you repeated, shocked by the fact that Calvin didn’t know a single thing about the topic he had been studying for weeks.

Not a week prior, the messy haired boy had taken you to the library to study, and though not much studying got done, you were still surprised to hear that he actually knew nothing about the topic he was supposed to be helping you with.

Following right by his side, Calvin lifted his shoulders in a shrug, walking out of the classroom and into the busy hall, students walking in every direction.

“I thought you were supposed to be helping me that day in the library. How could you help me if you didn’t know anything?” you asked, still perplexed by the situation.

Calvin looked from the hallway in front of him to his side, anchoring his attention on you as you spoke.

“I don’t know. I thought you were cute and you looked confused. Thought I could get to know you or something, I guess.” the boy explained, his face slowly drifting into a light smirk.

You face became hot and you looked to your shoes as the two of you walked towards the building exit, Calvin pushing open the door for the two of you. Though you had some idea of how Calvin felt, it caused your stomach to spin hearing it from his own mouth. You hadn’t known the boy for very long but still even after the first day you knew the brown eyed boy and you clicked.

The two of you walked in silence for a few moments before Calvin stopped in his tracks, causing you to walk forward a bit before looking back at him, in confusion.

“What’s up, Cal?” you asked curious as to why the boy had stopped.

“Do you want to go get some ice cream?” the boy asked, seemingly out of the blue, “There is an ice cream shop no to far down the road.”

Calvin, looked at you with a hopefully look, a smile plastered on his face, overly excited about spontaneous ice cream.

Though you wanted to spend time with Calvin, you thought about the homework you had for your math and health class, face dropping at the thought.

Calvin noticed your shifted in mood and frowned as well, grabbing your hand and swaying your arm in a desperate attempt to swayed your decision.

You took your free hand and pushed a stray piece of hair behind your ear, looking away from the boy now in thought, “I don’t know, Cal. I have a lot of homework, and I just don’t think I have the time.”

“Common, [Y/N]. It’s hot and ice cream sounds so good.” Calvin whined, puckering his lip in a pout, acting as if we was a child trying to persuade his mother into buying him a toy.

You sighed, knowing that Calvin knew you couldn’t say no to him when he acted this way, and though you did have homework, you decided it could wait, just as long as you didn’t stay out too long. Your homework would just have to wait till later.

You sighed having given into the boys begging, mumbling a barely audible “fine”, causing Calvin to physically jump in excitement, his mouth curling into a wide smile.

“Let’s go!” Calvin cheered, pulling you by your hand down the long sidewalk outside of your school.

While you walked, you looked at Calvin, the smile never leaving his face, your hand wrapped in his. Though you had only know the brown eyes boy for a short period you already felt as if he was one of your better friends at this new school. When you had first transferred you were worried you wouldn’t make any new friends, it being in the middle of the year and everyone having already established there friend groups. But Calvin made that fear disappear when he had begun to talk to you, taking you to study, and continuing to pursue a friendship even after. You were just flattered that he even took the time to get to know you, seeing as little to no one else had even bothered.

“So what kind of homework do you even have?” Calvin asked, drawing your attention back to him.

You looked from the sidewalk in front of you, to the boys eyes that starred back at you questioningly.

“Some math and a project for health, I think,” you explained, swaying you and Calvin’s conjoined hands, as you ambled along, regret sliding off your tongue, “I really wish I had started that project sooner, honestly. Its due tomorrow and I didn’t start till last night”

Calvin chuckled to himself, looking to his feet as he walked, his headphones beginning to hug up his neck, “Procrastination is my bitch. I know all about that.” he admitted with a smirk.

You laughed lightly, nudging him to the side in a playful manner.

As you continued walking, the two of you finally approached a small building which looked no bigger that a single room with a sign hanging that read, “Izzy’s Ice Cream”

“Is this the place?” you asked hesitantly, releasing your hand from Calvin’s and approaching the ice cream stand.

Calvin nodded confirming your assumption and followed you to a small window in the stand that was just big enough for you to see inside.

When you looked in you saw lines of what seemed like freezers and a few tins that were filled with clean ice cream scoops. As you continued to scan the area your eyes soon fell on a figure standing in the back of the shop in front of a cash register.

Before you could call to grab their attention the figure whipped around to reveal a small woman who looked to be in her late 60’s seeing as her hair was graying and wrinkles were painted across her face. Her attire also screamed old fashioned as she sported a plain printed dress, covered by an apron, spotted with small faded ice cream cones, and short heeled shoes.

As she approached, the sound of her heels clicking as she walked across the tiled stand, you looked outside the shop to see a large poster that named every type of ice cream the shop served, pictures accompanying each name.

“Hey y'all, I’m Izzy. What can I getcha?” the woman sang with a thick southern drawl.

You looked to Calvin, his eyes plastered on the poster. He seemed to be thinking deeply, his finger placed on his face as he thought before smiling and looking towards Izzy.

“Could I get a scoop of birthday cake ice cream on a normal cone?” he requested, teetering on his heels as he stood, looking into the woman’s gleaming eyes.

Izzy nodded before turning towards you a smile still plastered on her face.

“Um, just a scoop of strawberry ice cream please,” you decided before stammering, “Oh! With sprinkles on top please.”

Izzy nodded again before turning her back to the two of you and walked over to a freezer in the back, grabbing a ice cream scoop as she made her way.

As you watched the woman do her job, you felt Calvin nudge you causing you to look at him, a smile spread across his face but his eyes still locked on the shop.

“What?” you questioned, eyebrows narrowing as you chuckled.

Calvin just smiled wider before muttering, “Loser, likes sprinkles.”

Your face dropped before you processed what Calvin had said, causing you to hit him playfully.

“Yeah and you like birthday cake ice cream. Who’s the real loser, here?” you bit back, a smile dangling on the corner of your lips, and your arms crossed across your chest.

Calvin just smiled back, rolling his eyes before turning to see Izzy approaching the counter once again, but this time with two cones in her hands.

“Here, you go love birds. I hope you enjoy.” Izzy chimed, and hands a cone to each of you, in exchange for a handful of money from Calvin.

You grinned back at the woman, a light blush creeping upon your cheeks before turning around and looking out into the road behind you, a small parking lot separating you from the on coming cars.

You brought the ice cream to your lips, sticking out your tongue for a taste test. As your tongue met cold cream the flavor overtook your mouth and you couldn’t help but lick at the dessert a few more times before looking to Calvin, who also had his face engulfed in ice cream.

The sides of Calvin’s tipped up in a smile, licking his lips, removing the remaining ice cream that surrounded his mouth.

“You hear that [Y/N]? We’re love bird.” Calvin teased, putting his mouth back to his ice cream as he chuckled.

You laughed along with him, still blushing from the woman’s statement. Though you and Calvin weren’t together you still felt like there was something there and though you couldn’t quite put your finger on it, ‘love birds’ did have a nice ring to it. You had only known Calvin for a short period of time but still, you felt as if he could be something more than a friend, even if it was just for a short while. You could use a presence like him in your life.

“You wish,” you muttered into your cone, continuing the joke.

Calvin just rolled his eyes once again before taking his hand in yours and beginning to walk back towards the school, occasionally bringing his mouth back to his cone.

As the two of you walked, it was silent but comfortable, and you couldn’t help but take the opportunity to look at Calvin, and notice things you wouldn’t have the chance to on a normal day. You noticed how his hair framed his face perfectly around his hat, how broad his figure was compared to your small frame, and how his nose pointed to the sky as if he were an elf, your eyes scanning him up and down. Taking the time to notice the small things really made you feel things for the boy that you couldn’t say you’d have the ability to feel for anyone else, and you wanted to take full advantage of that.

You were snapped out of your thoughts when you heard Calvin say your name, it sounding so much prettier out of his mouth, causing you to look up at him, diverting your attention away from your half eaten cone.

“Do you think we could do this again sometime?” Calvin asked, licking the side of his cone as the ice cream was starting to dribble.

Your heart jumped at the offer and you turned to him, with a toothy smile and exclaimed, “Of course! This was really fun. Maybe one day I don’t have homewo-”

You cut yourself off as you felt a drip of water hit your forehead, causing you take your hand away from Calvin in attempted to rub the moisture from your skin, but moments after another drop replaced the first.

Before you could get a word in inch wise, the drops almost instantly began to fall at a constant rate, catching both you and Calvin off guard. You looked at the boy, a face spewing disbelief, the two of you now standing in the middle of the rain.

“Great.” is all you could mumble, before trying your best to cover yourself from the drizzle, pulling your 15 pound backpack over your head, in a poor attempt to save your hair.

Calvin just laughed as he watched you struggle, putting no ounce of effort into staying dry, just letting the rain fall upon him, a smile spread across his damp face.

Feeling there was no way you could shield yourself, you gave up throwing your backpack over your shoulders and looking at your now mangled cone, having been covered in rain water and previously you mauled by your mouth.

“Fuck it,” you deadpanned, through the ice cream into a near-by trashcan that sat outside a news paper stand.

“Come on. Lighten up, [Y/N]. Don’t let a little rain ruin your day.” the brown eyed boy urged, approaching you slowly.

As he walked up to you, you could feel your breath hitch in your throat, his eyes looking from your eyed to your lips. Only inches from your face, your body becoming stiff. The boy bend down a bit, leaning his head forward towards your ear, a smirk resting between his cheeks as he did so.

“Bench is base. Your it.” Calvin muttered to you, tapping your shoulder before dashing off, dropping his cone as he ran. You stood still for a few seconds, jaw having dropped in disbelief.

Looking in Calvin’s direction you saw him stop running and look towards you, motioning with his hand for you to follow.

You smacked your lips and began to run after him, splashing in new formed puddles, as you ran down the sidewalk towards the boys, looking towards the sky as the ran hit your face.

Watching you catch up, Calvin turned around once again and sprinted back into a full speed run, his backpack hitting his back every time his feet met the pavement.

Though you were still far behind you could feel yourself gaining ground, and this only motivated you to run faster though you could feel your lungs beginning to burn, and your muscles growing tired.

Once your school came into view you noticed you were only a few yards away from Calvin and he noticed as well, seeing as his head was propped on his shoulder, looking back at you, his expression scared.

You could see the benches now, closer to the boy then ever before, your legs burning and close to giving out, but still you pushed on. Just as you felt yourself about to be within arms length of him, Calvin turned, cutting through the court yard towards the benches, leaving your arm extended but now nowhere near him as he touched the first bench and turning around to watch you slow to a stop.

“I’m safe!” Calvin cheered, expelling and inhaling air rapidly.

Both of you now stood in front of the benches, both breathing heavily, and soaked from head to toe. You could feel your hair clinging to your face, and could see it on Calvin’s, his exposed hair drenched, and pressed to his forehead in every direction.

You let out a breathy laugh, before putting your hands in front of you, proclaiming defeat.

“Okay, okay. You win.” you confirmed, blinking a few drops of water from your eyes, a smile never leaning your face.

“What’s my prize then?” the brown eyes boy asked, smirking lightly. You thought for a moment but had little time to think before Calvin continued, “A kiss?”

Your stomach twisted as Calvin spoke, and you could feel yourself burn fire red, watching as Calvin approached you once again, his eyed diverting slowly from your lips to your eyes, his own filled with desire.

Now only inches from your face, he began to lean in, his eyes floating shut, as well as yours. Just as you pushed yourself onto your tippy toes you felt your lips meet Cavlin’s and him kiss you softly, taking a hand and holding one side of your face for support. The word around you became a blur as kiss deepened and the two of you stood in the pouring rain, Calvin moving his lips in rhythm with yours, before you moved your hands to Calvin’s jaw. Your hands resting there, feeling the wet tips of Calvin’s hair brush against them, as the two of you held your lips together.

After a few seconds you felt Calvin pull away and your eyes fluttered open to meet his soft brown ones, a light smile on his face, and a blush across his cheeks. The two of you stared at each other for what felt like hours though only seconds, before you felt a harsh buzz in your back pocket that caused you to jump.

Quickly, you yanked your phone from your back pocket, to see “mom” plastered on the screen. Instantly panicking as you read the name, you slid your finger across the scream and brought the phone to your ear.

“Hey mom… Yes I’m at school… With Calvin…” You spoke slowly, looking down at your shoes and placing your free hand to your lips where Calvin’s had sat just moments ago, “I know… I’m sorry. I’ll get going right now… See you… Bye.”

Once you pressed the large red button on the screen, you looked up at the boy in front of you and shrugged, your mouth now slanted in disappointment.

“Hey, I gotta go. Mom’s order, but I’ll text you tonight.” you explain to Calvin, shifting your book bag on your back.

“Alright. Well see you tomorrow,” Calvin huffed with a slight wave, “I had a really good time.”

You nodded turning your back to the boy, before looking back for just a moment longer, looking at the boy before rushing up to him and placing a light kiss on his lips, lingering for a few seconds before pulling away and looking into Calvin’s soft eyes.

“I did too. Thanks for the ice cream by the way. We should do that again sometime.” you suggested before smiling lightly, and walking away from the boy and towards your parking spot, in the large school parking lot, nothing more than Calvin and how his soft lips fit perfectly together with yours on your mind.

The Blame Game

ALEC LIGHTWOOD IMAGINE

Requested by anon: “Could you do a imagine of being Izzy’s BFF and you and Alec have feelings for each other but neither make a move until your ex (who you broke up years ago since you became two different people but have a soft spot for each other) asks you to go on a mission with him since he only trusts you and everyone (especially Alec and Izzy)are worried since its a suicide mission but you go anyway since you’re stubborn and too nice and after you come back hurt Alec confesses while he tends to your wounds??”

I just made up a name for the ex, so for this imagine Adrian is the name of your ex.  Also, I really like this imagine but for some reason I just couldn’t start it, I’ve sat with this so many times trying to figure out how to start this!  Anyway, here it is now and I hope you like it!  WOW this is long!

He found me in the training room.  I was restless and bored and had decided that the best way to rid myself of this restless energy and frustration was to let it out on the poor punching bag.  Maybe that was part of the reason I said yes.  Maybe it was because I was just so fed up of sitting around doing nothing, or following after Clary.  I wanted to do something.  I wanted to get out of the institute where I was starting to feel like a caged animal and do something.  I wanted to go on a good old fashioned hunt.

I heard him before I saw him, but I ignored him, figuring he was there to train just as I was.  When he cleared his throat I turned, surprised and curious.  Then I noticed that he was nervous, I noticed the slight frown line in the centre of his forehead and the way he kept clenching and unclenching his fists.  Adrian was never nervous.  Even years ago, when we were dating and we were both young and foolish, Adrian was never nervous.  Except perhaps when he asked me out.  It was a strange sight, seeing such a foreign expression on such a familiar face.  Seeing the dip in his brows, the darting of his eyes, in a face usually so calm.  I stepped away from the swinging bag, squinting my eyes against the setting sun as the glare shone through the windows and into my eyes.  “I need your help.”  He stated, and even with the sunlight blinding me I could see his worry as clear as day.  “Sure.”  I replied without a hint of hesitation.  Adrian wouldn’t ask me for help if he didn’t need to, if it wasn’t absolutely necessary.  But I think even if it wasn’t absolutely necessary, I would still say yes.  “You might not be so keen once I tell you what I need your help with.”  I turned to the side so that the warm orange beams of light hit my back and not my face.  I frowned at him, still nodding along.  “I need to explain, before you agree, you need to know what you’re getting into.  I wouldn’t come to you if I didn’t think I needed you.”  He turned his head away, organising his words, forming sentences.  I found myself looking at the patterned floor, watching the way the sunlight danced across it in a rainbow of colours as it shone through the stained glass.  I would help him, of course I would.

I just wanted to say that this picture made a stupid boy happy. It was really nice to get something with my real name on it from one of my favorite people. She is a beautiful women and is so nice to spend the time signing these prints.

As someone who is transgender it was really nice to find someone like her. Her transition gives me hope for mine. My parents are in the awkward “here you can go to a gender therapist” but “nope we won’t call you by your name” phase. I feel really stuck and hopeless sometimes. It is really nice to see adult trans people who are living great lives because it gives us young trans kids hope. Representation saves people.

I just want to say thank you again Ms. Izzy Bennett.(And also Carissa)

things you said that i wish you hadn’t

Catarina arrives at the Institute not a half hour after Alec sent her a fire message. She looks harried, rushed, though when her eyes meet Alec’s, they’re alert and full of emotions Alec can empathise with. “What happened?”

Alec opens his mouth, closes it again. The memories rush forth, unbidden, and he chokes on what he wants to say. He’s better than this, but before he can make himself talk, Izzy presses her fingers into his elbow, the touch grounding. She gives him a knowing, sympathetic look that makes Alec want to throw up, and turns to Catarina.

“We need your help - Magnus needs your help.”

Hey, what do you think will happen to Malec in season 2 and what do you hope to see?

Oh dear xD so much, but okay, let’s see if I get a proper list done. :-)
Also, I can’t say much about what I think will happen because I’m awful at predictions, but I have a lot of hopes and wishes. x3 :D

- fight scenes of Magnus and Alec together

- Magnus trying to cheer Alec up kind of the way Simon tried to cheer up Clary about Jace like ‘Hey, at some point they’ll probably pay us to take him back’, just some soft humor to break the tension

- looking after each other like ‘When was the last time you ate? Slept? How many fingers am I holding up?’
-> making deals like ‘Okay I’ll take a nap if you get a proper meal?’

- nothing too couple-y, nothing too lovey-dovey because I think it wouldn’t fit the mood with Jace gone and I’m just not a big fan of it in general

- Alec sassing people who drop stupid comments about him being gay or Magnus like ‘I’m gay, not blind, so yes, she’s an attractive woman.’ or trying to make up for stupid comments to Magnus like ‘He’s probably just jealous of your glitter eyeshadow’.
-> Magnus in return whispering to Alec when somebody left after making a rude comment ‘I could set his pants on fire, just say the word’ and Alec just grinning and bumping their shoulders together whispering back ‘Behave’.
-> Bonus: Izzy on the other side of Magnus chiming in with ‘I could break his ankles …’

- Alec being the only one allowed to touch Magnus’ hair (there’s a long childhood story that led to this, but I still like it ^-^) and Magnus ruffling Alec’s hair or something like that
-> also, this mostly when they are alone somewhere

- them being physically close and not in the clingy kind of way, but just like, Magnus putting his arm on Alec’s shoulder to look at something in front of Alec, Alec looking over Magnus’ shoulder, either one leaning over the back of a chair the other is sitting in during a meeting or something like that
-> just being comfortable in the others personal space

- Alec sleeping over at Magnus’ place when things get too much (no sex, just him showing up like ‘Do you have a free couch? I also take the floor, but I need some rest’ and Magnus going ‘I’d rather set that couch on fire than let you sleep there instead of the bed.’)

- Pyjamas? But that’s just a thing I like in general, like let them have some causality, I’m sure they get dragged out of bed often enough and then they have meetings in Pyjamas passing the coffee around at the Institute (of course, with Izzy and Clary, too, here)  :3

- Magnus sassing Shadowhunters that magic can just solve anything like ‘Sure, let’s do that and tomorrow I’m healing cancer.’

- I don’t know how I stand on that first date beach those things can get super cheesy in TV-shows …

Maybe some stuff I’m curious about:

- how deep they go into the Circle-past of the Lightwood-parents and Magnus’ involvement with them

- Catarina and Magnus-moments with ‘Everybody hated Camille’ and ‘You let her go? Wait, you did what?’, just some more social contacts for Magnus

What I hope will NOT happen:

- misunderstandings and tense, unresolved conflicts (PLEASE KEEP TALKING TO EACH OTHER!)

There’s probably more, but that’s all I can think of right now. :3

Choosing what to wear

This is a shitty part 2 to fic here that I wrote for @sadlyamundane, hope you like

“What do you mean I can’t go out wearing this?” Alec asked. His sister had stopped him at the door of his bedroom and wouldn’t let him pass.
“It’s your first date Alec, you need to dress up.” Izzy responded. “Why don’t you wear one of the shirts you bought when you went shopping with him?”
Alec blushed, he hadn’t told Izzy that Magnus had taken him shopping. “Oh please Alec you think I would believe you chose those outfits for yourself?” She motioned toward the new bags sitting on a chair. “You would never take yourself out just to get clothes. So let’s see them, I’ll help you pick one.” She took a seat on his bed and he sighed. He was nervous enough without her intervention.
Although he had picked the clothes with Magnus, and knew his boyfriend liked how he looked in them, he couldn’t get over his nerves about wearing something new. He felt at home in his plain black shirt and jeans. Begrudgingly he started sifting through the new shirts and jeans. The blue shirt that Magnus had kissed him in kept drawing his attention.
“Is there a reason you’re looking at a shirt like it’s a baby?” Izzy asked teasingly.
Alec quickly snapped out of it. “I’m gonna wear this one.”
“Great! Try it on, I need to see before you leave.”
“Uhm, could you maybe give me some privacy?” She stood up and moved to the door way, where she stood with her back turned. “I’m not leaving in case you try to sneak away without showing me, so you better start changing or else you’ll be late.” Alec rolled his eyes but started changing. He put on the new shirt and a pair of jeans and stood back to admire his reflection in the mirror.
“Okay, look at me so you can leave.” Alec said.
Izzy turned around. “Not bad, you clean up pretty nice for someone who dresses so poorly on a regular basis. Alright, you may leave.” She moved away from the door way and motioned for him to go.
The trip to Magnus’ apartment took longer than usual because of the weather. New York had decided to dump snow on him. He had on a leather jacket, so the snow was more of an annoyance than anything. He was glad he was dating a warlock who could make portals so they didn’t have to walk in the cold. As he approached he started feeling butterflies in his stomach. This was it, his first official date with Magnus Bane. Before his nerves could get the better of him, he walked up and rang the door bell.
Magnus opened the door and smiled. He looked Alec up and down. “You look very handsome Alexander.”

CHAPTER 1 , CHAPTER 2 , CHAPTER 3,CHAPTER 4

CHAPTER 5 - I THINK YOU’RE GREAT

“So, what now?“ Izzy asked her.

"I have no idea.” Rae stated simply

“You guys seem to like each other,” Chloe inserted.

The three of them were sitting on the sofa early Sunday afternoon in their pj’s. Their breakfast dishes were on the coffee table, and Rae sighed and decided to place them in the sink. She and Chloe had started the tradition of a hearty breakfast late Sunday mornings when they first became friends. Back at school, they always seemed to be in a rush; in a rush to get to class, in a rush to finish their assignments; everything always seemed to happen at warp-speed. But Sundays were for taking it easy. They would lounge around, have breakfast no earlier than 11, and just enjoy each other’s company. No matter how hectic every other day felt, nothing mattered on a Sunday.

After they met Izzy, they discovered quickly she was like a little ball of energy. She loved hiking, traveling, and she seemed to rarely sit down. They wondered if she would enjoy just laying around chatting and watching TV all day. It made them skeptical of inviting her at first, but for the sake of her close friendship with Chop Rae decided she should do it for him. She was pleasantly surprised to find Izzy was a great addition to their Sunday mornings. She made great pancakes, loved silly comedies, and did some great French braids. Izzy soon became a fixture every Sunday, and helped solidify a friendship between the three of them.

"I do like him,“ Rae said honestly as she flopped back on the sofa, "But I feel like everything’s moving fast.”

“Fast,” Chloe gave her a confused look, “You’ve been pining for him for months.”

“He has, too,” Izzy commented, “From what you told us.”

“Alright, so maybe I have been pining for him,” Rae admitted to them, “But he doesn’t know me. He’s going to realize I’m not as great as he thinks I am, and I don’t want him to think he owes me anything just because he kissed me.”

“Rae,” Izzy said comfortingly, “Don’t settle yourself so short.”

“Yeah, and for Pete’s sake, Rae,” Chloe added, “It’s just a kiss. He didn’t ask you to marry him. I mean, you could just as easily figure out he’s not as great as you think he is.”

“Oh, but he is that great. Can you believe we kissed even after I told him I had been ill?”

“Wow, wait,” Chloe looked at her, “You told him you had been ill?”

“Not intentionally,” Rae said slowly, “But yes.”

Izzy sat upright, “What did you tell him?”

“Not much, just that I had been bullied at lot when I was younger and that I got sick.”

Chloe held her arm, “What did he say after you told him? Did he act weird about it?”

“No, Chloe, no. Don’t worry. He was ok about it. More than ok, he was really great, actually.”

    Izzy smiled, “He was?”

“Yeah, he was. He’s always great. I mean, everything about him is just so… nice and great.”

Chloe linked arms with Rae,“Oh, babe,” she smiled softly at her.

Izzy grinned, “Rae that’s amazing. Don’t you think it’s time you found someone like him? You deserve someone great.”

    Rae sighed, “I guess.”

Chloe squeezed her arm, “No ‘I guess’. Rae, come on. If he’s all that you say he is you go get him. You’re a beautiful person. You do deserve to be happy.”

Rae embraced both of her friends gratefully without a word, but silently, she wished she could see in her what they saw.

The next morning, as Rae was sweeping up the floor of her shop, she heard a knock on the window. Confused she pulled up the blinds, and tried not to be too pleasantly surprised about the familiar figure standing outside.

“Finn,” she said as she unlocked the door, “What are you doing here so early?”

“Mind if I come in for a minute?” He asked

“Of course,” she stepped aside and let him enter the store.

He walked in and a slightly awkward silence broke out between them.

“So,” Rae said after a moment, “What’s up?”

“Well, here’s the thing. Um, I’m not really much with words so I’m not quite sure how to say this,” he rubbed the back of his neck and sighed, “Look, I’m just going to come out with it. I’ve liked getting to know you, Rae. And I want to keep getting to know you. I was just wondering if maybe you’d like to go out sometime.”

Rae was quiet for what felt like a long time. Had Chloe and Izzy actually been right? That there was someone out there that actually thought she was good?

“Rae,” he said quietly after some time, “It’s alright if you don’t want to - we are just getting to know each other – I understand if - ”

“No,” she said quickly, “I mean, yes, I’d like to go out sometime.”

“You would,” he smiled, “Great. So, um, maybe we can meet up later and talk about it. Maybe we could grab lunch later or something.”

    She grinned, “I’d like that.”

    “Me, too.”

In that moment the doorbell jingled. They turned and saw Izzy smiling brightly at them.

“Hiya,” she grinned, “Oh, so you’re in again.” She smiled knowingly at Finn.

    “I guess I am.”

    “I’m Izzy, by the way.”

    “Finn,”

    They shook hands.

“I know, Rae’s told us a lot about you. And you probably don’t remember, but we met once near Archie’s store. Thanks to you my husband Chop won’t shut up about getting a sleeve done.”

“Oh, I remember,” Finn’s face wrinkled in a laugh, “You know, he came in once after that. Wanted to get a stencil done. He said he was going to surprise you but I told him maybe that wouldn’t be the best idea.”

“He what,” Izzy said astonished, “That bastard! I knew he would try and pull something like that! I swear, I’m going to kill him when I see him! You know - ”

“Izzy,” Rae interrupted, “Do you think you can get the flowers in the back ready for display?”

“What,” she said but then she gave Rae an understanding look, “Oh, right. Of course. Well, it was nice meeting you. And I’ll be sure to tell Chop you give him your best.”

“It was nice meeting you, too. I hope I didn’t get him into too much trouble.”

“We’ll see.” Izzy said ominously as she walked toward the back.

Rae and Finn gave each other a quick glance before they smiled at each other.

“I should get going so I can let you open up,” Finn said, “But I’ll see you later.”

“Yea,” she smiled at him, “Definitely.”

He gave her a swift kiss on the cheek before heading out.

Almost immediately she heard a voice from behind

“I’m so excited for you, Rae,” Izzy squealed, “He really likes you!”

"Jesus, Izzy,“ Rae clutched her chest, "You scared me. Did you teleport over here?”

“No, of course not. Being tiny has many advantages. Like being able to move as quickly and as quietly as a mouse.”

“You know, Iz, you’re kind of scary sometimes.”

“Oh, I know” Izzy responded with a proud smile.

Later that afternoon Rae paced around her store. She swept multiple times, gave the flowers enough water to last them a few days, and wiped down everything she could.

“You need to relax,” Izzy told her.

“I know,” she sighed, “I know.”

“Come on, Rae, it’s going to go fine.”

"But what if it’s not? I mean can you honestly picture us, me and Finn, together?“

Izzy pondered this for a moment, "Yes,” she nodded, “Yes, I can.”

“Me, too,” Rae admitted with a small smile.

“What are you doing here, then? Go get him!”

Rae nodded, “God, I just hope I don’t do something to embarrass myself.”

    “Nothing will happen.”

“I can just envision us now, people gathering around to see the clown. Maybe we should go somewhere that isn’t light all that well, so we aren’t seen together too much, just to take the edge off. I can’t imagine what it must be like for him.”

    “Rae,” Izzy said quietly.

“I just hope it’s not too ridiculous.”

    “Rae,” Izzy persisted.

    “What?”

Izzy motion behind her, and Rae saw Finn’s back walking out the door.

“How long was he standing there?”

    “Long enough,” Izzy said quietly.

“He must think I was talking about him! Christ, I blew it before it even began! I got to go talk to him!”

Rae rushed out of the door and burst into Finn’s shop.

"Finn,“ she said short of breath, "Let me explain. I want you to know I wasn’t talking about you. I was just nervous because I really like you. And I was worried I might do something stupid to embarrass myself. I -”

He put his hand up to stop her, “I know you weren’t talking about me,” He smiled at her, “I was there for a while. The truth is Rae, I can see us together, too. And I just came back to get you something.”

He handed her the piece of paper he had been holding in his hand. She looked and noticed a bigger, more vibrant drawing of the familiar plant sitting in her room.

    “Jazz?”

He nodded, “It’s one of my stencils. I was kind of hesitant about giving it to you just yet. I made it after you showed her to me. I just thought, it was really brave of you to tell me, and that it’s really cool of you to be able to grow and nurture something this beautiful. Rae, I want you to know no matter what I’d never be embarrassed to be seen with you. Cause I think you’re really great.”

Rae beamed at him, “I think you’re really great, too.”

He touched her cheek lightly, “I’m glad,” he said, “Do you think we can go on a date now?”
