He is panting, braced somehow against the bumper with a knife in his hand but
all he can see, all he remembers, is the expression on her pale, dirty face
when he’d pulled open the door.

and wobbly and weak as shit but he makes it in and he kneels himself before
her, taking the knife to the zip ties.

She’s pushed herself up to meet him. She moves, presses against
the knife, and she’s saying something, saying his name, he thinks – but then the
ties around her ankles give and he has an armful of warm, alive, Karen Page.
It’s jarring, the sudden, intimate touch. Her head tucks beneath
his chin, her arms like steel bands around his chest. He breathes her in, the
smell of her shampoo and the dirt and the sweat and when he absorbs that
through the haze of his heartbeat and the fear he drops the knife and holds her
against him, tight.
“Frank,” he hears
her saying, finally, through the storm in his head. “Frank. Frank.”
okay,” he mumbles, his hands following a pattern down her back. It’s automatic,
familiar. He feels her shake in his arms, although whether she’s crying or
laughing, he can’t really tell.
Eventually, after a second or a lifetime, she pulls away and tugs
him from the van. They half-fall out of it and further into the alley, away
from the bodies, her legs wobbly from restricted circulation. As he steadies
her he can see the welts left around her wrists, the bruise just visible beneath
the sleeve of her blouse. He seems to get stuck again on that, a moment.
There is a rushing sound in his ears. It’s blood, he thinks;
it’s familiar, it’s his state of calm, the one that’s carried him through his
wars and he needs it now, because this isn’t done, it isn’t close to fucking

ok? Are you hurt?”
back at her. She’s moved closer. She’s waiting for a response, he remembers.
“Uh, yeah. Yeah,” he manages, after a moment. “I’m fine. You,
how are you? Did they-?”
“I can handle it.”
He finds himself laughing. She could, yeah, she had a way
of dealing with shit even when it scared the hell out of her, when she should
be running the other way. He’s fished her out of a van and the evidence of what
he’s had to do is all around them and she’s still looking at him, trying to
get a hold of his gaze.

realises, and he’s got blood on her face too. She’s pale and trembling. Christ,
she’s still here.
The itch is still there too. It’s growing stronger: it’s not
finished, Frank. This is not
He hears a
groan from back towards the van. He’d left one of them alive; he’d forgotten
“Down the street,” he
croaks, forcing the air through his throat. It feels like he hasn’t spoken in a
week. She frowns at the non-sequitur, still trying to catch his eye, to read
him, but he looks away. He nods down the street. She needs to get out of here. “Red truck, scratch down the left side. Lie
low with a friend a while, alright?”
He swipes at his nose,
fishing his keys from his pocket, and she doesn’t
“Without you?” she
laughs, but it’s forced, hoarse, and her mouth tightens after it. “Frank,” she
tries again. “It’s over. It’s-”
He cuts through her tumble of words. “Not
over. I need – information. I’m going to get it.”
Her eyes flick back towards the van
almost unwillingly, and her expression changes, a cycle of emotions that pass
too fast to read. “Then I’ll stay until you get it. We’ll bring one of them with
us. We’ll go through it together, but Frank-”
I don’t want to lose you again,
she doesn’t say, but he hears it anyway.
He shakes his head, running a hand through his hair. He starts
to get it; she needs him now, needs him to be present, but he, he’s got to see
this through, he needs to see
“What do you think is going to happen here,” he states, and it’s
not a question. She understands what he means. Of course she does. She hardly flinches,
though, and he’s not sure if that’s new or not, or if that’s something that’s
broken in her, that he helped take apart, all of those months ago
in the woods.
“Frank.” She says his
name again. Without the excuses, the attempted reasoning: simple, honest emotion. “Please.”
remembers the last time. His little girl, she asked him, she fastened herself
to his hand and pulled him towards her room and she didn’t care that she wasn’t
twelve anymore, she waved that book in his face and she begged him to come with
and almosts. He almost did it. Lisa almost made it. Karen Page almost didn’t.
at Karen, dumbly, and his words fail him.
“You need to go.” He manages, eventually. He’s repeating
himself. He doesn’t know what else to say.
She looks at him another long moment. There’s that multitude of
emotion crossing her features – too many for him to read, but
maybe something in his voice gets to her because she takes the keys from him
with shaking fingers, and then she leaves.
He looks at his hands. He clenches them, watching the way the
knuckles stretch the skin, before he fetches the knife and strides back
to the alley mouth. He glances back down the street when he reaches it,
checking, but Karen is gone from sight already. Good. That’s, good.
groan, weaker now. The survivor, half-slumped over the bumper with his hands
pressed over his ribs and when Frank turns towards it the groan becomes that
little more strained, that little more panicked. Good - he steps forward, he
takes it slow, each step calm and precise. The survivor tries to scramble
away. It’s one of the ones that had been in the back with her, that had got the
knife and not the bullet. Frank feels that chill sink back into place.

the van now and the man slip-slides onto the floor, squeaking as he lands – he has
cracked ribs as well, Frank could use that. The man tries to pull a knife and he
kicks it away and stomps on his sternum, feeling good when he hears the scream.

small thought i wanna share with you cause youre like THE puzzleshipper meta person: after the memory rpg and learning his real name, the maze of atems soul room probably cleared up, so his soul room looks more like a normal one that reflects him right? i wonder what it would look like and if there is a giant wall mural dedicated to his feels for his aibou. wouldnt that be a shock if he came to recognize how deep his feels really were in such a way. anyhow, im going to scream into a pillow now.

But anyways, sorry for the delayed reply, anon, let’s see what we have here- Because this is awesome (and very flattering).
I love the idea of Atem’s soul room shifting in the aftermath of the Memory World arc, because of course. Even if you subscribe to my theory that he did not regain firsthand memories of his life from the events, he definitely regained a sense of identity from the experience and would have a lot to reference to from the game…
And the mural idea… GOSH, I did not like Deathly Hallows, but you just gave me such Luna Lovegood feels from that idea, if you know that reference. And there’s certainly a basis for such a thing, if you think about Shadi finding that ‘photo’ in Anzu’s own soul room!
To start off, I just took a little pace around my room and prodded through the manga to try and pin down what I imagine Atem’s soul room might be like, at least in the final chapters of the story, and I think I got at least a vague something.
I’ve seen a lot of references to Atem’s real soul room being like his throne room- But I don’t see that myself. He definitely encompassed the role of a leader, wore it as something he needed to be and acted as protector and defender, but I don’t see his very core being represented by a throne- By power.
I think he would be more focused on strength of self- And battle. He was a king in the saddle, of the sword, not the throne.
So I think Atem’s soul room would, if only in shape, look a lot like the inside of the Shrine of Wedju.
-it woudn’t be absolutely covered in slabs like that, but I just really like the look of it. It feels like a nice merger of Atem’s modern identity with his Egyptian identity, given the shrine reference and the stone and torches and such. But the odd, sharp angles and elongated shape and plethora of stairs would also be a nice nod-back to the labyrinth, the soul room he has had for so long. The maze might not be his natural one with his identity intact, but it DOES seem fitting to him all the same. And he has probably incorporated his role as ‘spirit of the Puzzle’ into his psyche, so I think he would naturally keep some representation of that state of his spirit.
But anyways, on the raised center of this ‘shrine’ we would have this:
A duel style floor.
Because even if there’s no need for slabs in his room, I still like to imagine the ‘centerpiece’ of Atem’s soul would be duel themed. What else represents his identity as ‘the Other Yuugi’ AND ‘the Pharaoh Atem’ so well as dueling?
But ah, the thing is, while there might be a bunch of Egyptian symbols and spirit images all over the floor mural and on the walls - in place of the slabs - there’s other things mixed into the images.
He would have Seto, Jounouchi, Mai, Malik, and countless other duelists he’s formed bonds with represented standing strong beside the spirits, and all of his friends who have stood by him outside of duels - Anzu, Honda, Otogi - represented in places of honor, to show how they hold a place in his heart and even the impression of them keeps him strong.
Yuugi is the foci of the floor mural, at the center of his soul.
Because, whether you believe his feelings are platonic or NOT, Yuugi’s the center of Atem’s being, the core of his world.

I don’t know if you know how we do things around here, but for newcomers, more than half of the romance writing I do is angst. You brought this upon yourself, anon, and now you shall reap what you sew….I’ll go easy and make it Angst/Fluff, though.
“Corrin?” Azura yawned curiously when she opened the door to her quarters, her normally sleek blue hair an unkempt cerulean mess. “It’s the middle of the night. Is something wrong?”
“No?…yes…Er, sort of?” Corrin stammered, fidgeting on the spot, his hands moving at his sides as if they were kneading invisible balls of dough. “I..I was just wanting to…er, y’know, c-cuddle?” He trailed off towards the end of the sentence, the word cuddle bearing barely louder than a whisper.
“You…You knocked on my door at 1 in the morning…to cuddle?” The princess asked incredulously. Corrin’s cheeks flushed in embarrassment and he nodded, sheepishly averting his gaze. She sighed and shook her head in amusement. “What am I going to do with you?”
“I-invite me inside?” Corrin gave as a half-joking suggestion, prompting Azura to laugh that bubbly laugh that he loved so much as she stood aside to let him in. I can’t believe that actually worked.
“You’re lucky you’re so cute.” She admitted as she closed the door behind him, the prince noticing a light blush dusted across her cheeks.
Azura let out a contented sigh, enjoying the feeling of her boyfriend’s body curled around her own, one of his arms draped over her side. She turned under his arm to face him to find him with a worried look which was replaced with an unsure smile when he noticed her looking at him.
“What’s troubling you, dear?” She tenderly laid a hand against his cheek, cupping his jawline in her palm.
“Nothing, my love.” Corrin assured her, pressing a kiss to her forehead.
“Corrin, don’t lie to me.” Azura pleaded. “It’s written all over your face; something’s bothering you and I want you to tell me what.”
Corrin’s gaze moved to some obscure point behind her, silently pulling her close and gently hugging her head against his chest. She could hear his heart hammering in his chest, his arms were shaking slightly as was his breath.
“I’ve..just been thinking about what happened at Fort Dragonfall.” He admitted, shuddering as he put his emotions to word. “I felt so powerless, watching you writhe on the ground in pain with nothing I can do to help.”
“Corrin.” Azura said plainly. “You asked me for my word that I wouldn’t let the pendant’s power kill me, and I gave it to you, didn’t I?”
“Well, yes, but…” He shifted his gaze back to hers, the fear playing on his features almost enough to break her heart.
“But nothing. I made a promise that I wouldn’t let my singing kill me and I meant it.” Without another word and with barely any warning, she angled her face towards his and pressed her lips against his. As their lips met, she felt him relax against her and kiss back, neither drawing away for almost a minute. As she broke the kiss and pressed her forehead against Corrin’s, her next words came at one of the softest, gentlest whispers Corrin had ever heard. “I love you far too much to do that to you.”

Hello there Anons! Thank you so much <3 I use Photoshop CS5 for both lineart & coloring and a Wacom Intuos 5 tablet. I’m saving up for a Cintiq though hahah *broke af* BUT anyways, I started drawing with photoshop back in… Gosh. High school? so I guess I’ve been fiddling around with this medium for 8 years but never seriously got into it until college. In that case I’d say it took me about 3 ish years to really learn how to color digitally. ALTHOUGH I don’t consider my work very polished, I have way too much to improve on still >_<

Ooo tough question haha. There’s just so much I WANT to do but I’m not sure I can make it. To be honest I pretty much went around all these years with just the vague knowledge that I wanted to draw for a living. Once I found out what you do in Visual Development for entertainment such as video games and movies I just fell in love with it. I’m still pretty stuck in that “anime” style and my portfolio isn’t up to par with the industry.. BUT I’m working on a personal style every day and maybe one day I’ll be able to work in that field. In the far future. Haha. My work is nowhere near good enough yet. And animation lately… It’d be amazing to be in animation too. Extremely disappointed I couldn’t afford to go to California to learn it. Even though I got in, tuition was just too much ugh.

So apparently Lena turns to Rhea as mother-figure in next couple of episodes?!
Hi love! Sorry for the delay. Yes I did see the article and while it is troubling at first glance, and I’m not a fan of the plot line, I can understand the direction that they seem to be taking here. Lena is in a really tough place now, so of course it is only natural for our big bad to swoop in and exploit everything that she is going through.
To be honest, at first I was actually surprised to find out that it would be Rhea attempting the facade as opposed to Lillian. Though I suppose Lillian has tried and failed and Lena can definitely see straight through her at this point. There is also the fact that Lillian has been more or less replaced as the big bad which is also interesting to see. Can’t wait to see what she Lena and Winn get up to in the finale!
At least we can take comfort in the fact that Lena will be Team Supergirl in the end which indicates the truth about Rhea will come out! I have another ask about Rhea and the impact it will have on Lena’s character so I plan on addressing it as soon as I can (most likely tomorrow morning – it’ll be a bit long). So stay tuned for that!

each other’s faces arguing about something dumb, and a friend
(Midorima? Kise?) pushes their heads together thinking that they’ll bonk
foreheads but it turns into an accidental kiss. I have this really
clear picture in my head of them turning to whoever caused this directly
after it happens and looking dumbstruck, red faced, and both directly
on the verge of their own “what the fuck did you THINK would happen???”

If you haven’t watched this scene yet, GO WATCH IT. It’s the longest of the S2 deleted scenes (I think deleted from “Spacewalker” though I’m sure someone will tag in and correct me if I’m wrong). It’s amazing and important for so many reasons, and I remain lowkey devastated that it got left on the cutting room floor.
Here’s the setup. Lexa has been watching Camp Jaha and sees the Sky People preparing for war; Indra wants to strike the camp before the Sky People strike them and insists that they are enemies. Marcus doesn’t deny that they’re making preparations for war but says, “when we are attacked, our first instinct is to defend ourselves. In that, we are very much like you.” Lexa says she offered the Sky People a generous peace, yet they prepare for war. Marcus pleads for more time - not to ready their weapons, but for him to be able to explain to the Sky People how generous Lexa’s offer is and why they should take it, because he does believe in peace between them.
I love this scene so much for so many reasons. First, my personal opinion has always been that when the show decided to go all in on Clexa, Lexa’s vital relationships with a lot of other characters in the show got shorter shrift than they deserved. It’s great to see such a powerful Lexa scene that has zero to do with Clarke whatsoever.
Second, it’s an important Indra/Lexa relationship moment, and honestly my personal opinion on Indra is the more the merrier. I fucking love her, and I love how she is one of those amazing supporting characters who brings out new shades in everybody. Look at how many different characters are transformed by coming into contact with her. Think about that moment when she goes head-to-head with Abby in the field, or her complicated relationship with Lincoln, or her mentorship of Octavia. Indra doesn’t have a huge role or a ton of lines but she’s so fucking important, and the brief interactions she and Lexa have here speak volumes about their relationship and her role as the Commander’s advisor. We talk a lot about Lexa in the context of her training as Anya’s
second, but I also think Indra’s influence is a really important
consideration here. This scene instantly made me headcanon that Indra is the first person
who ever said “love is weakness” to her, and after Costia died it stuck.
It just sounds so much like something Indra would say - or at the very least, a sentiment she would heartily endorse.
Third, this scene lets us watch Lexa being a solid tactician, which is something we’re largely told instead of shown. This is a great Lexa scene in terms of developing her character as a leader, where we see her weighing two very different approaches to how to deal with the problem of the Sky People: Indra’s, and Kane’s. Indra thinks there can never be peace or understanding between them and has troops ready to move in and attack, claiming that the Sky People think Lexa is weak. “Let me show them how strong you are.” Lexa is solidly in control and she commands that room. (The way all the guards step in closer the minute Marcus makes a sudden move is great.) She offered peace, the Sky People are preparing for war, fuck the Sky People, case closed. She’s making the sensible decision here, based on the information at hand. She’s doing exactly what she should do for her people.
But we know, from the scenes when she was holding him and Jaha captive, that she respects Marcus Kane. She knows he’s a good man. It doesn’t make her inclined to let his people move their guns to the walls to attack the Grounders with no provocation, but their conversation is remarkable in how respectful it is despite their being enemies.
This brings me to the part of this lengthy meta where I get to talk about my boyfriend and what a significant (and unfairly excised) scene this is for him. For example, let’s talk about how one of Marcus Kane’s most solid qualities over the latter half of Season Two is that he doesn’t talk down to the young people because of their age. When the Sky People first land, he does the whole “hand over your guns, kiddos, the grownups are here” thing, which is of course infuriating to us the viewers as much as it is to Bellamy. It’s Abby, the mom who can’t turn off her Mom Switch, who says “they’re being led by a child,” who keeps saying “they’re just kids,” who has the hardest time adjusting to what life on the ground has turned The 100 into. But Kane snaps out of that fast. He meets Lexa here as an equal - or, more accurately, he meets her as a humble and respectful supplicant pleading for something from a person in higher authority - despite being a man twice her age.
It’s also important here to have some real-ass talk about what the thing is he’s actually pleading with Lexa for, because that’s interesting too. He’s asking for more time. Yeah, time to stockpile a shitload of weapons, is Lexa and Indra’s opinion.No, he says, time for them to understand how generous her offer of peace really was. Meaning, time for him to talk them into accepting it.
Meaning - Finn.
Look, “Spacewalker” wrecked us all equally, and whoever your bae is (Clarke, Raven, Bellamy, Abby, Finn, Lexa) I think we can all agree that scene is harrowing and it hurts to watch. And I know a lot of people liked Finn and were sad to see him die, and I know at least a few of those people read this blog (HI ANNA!) so I apologize if this sounds heartless. But Kane going to Lexa to strike a deal for more time so he can talk the Sky People into turning over Finn is a moment I really wish we’d gotten in this episode, because it’s actually a terrific Kane moment to me. Kane is in the middle of a character arc that begins with “You have a strength that is not weakened by sentiment” and ends with him offering his own bone marrow to save Abby from pain. Turning over the kid who massacred a Grounder village in order to establish lasting peace for the Sky People is a completely sensible and logical decision for Marcus Kane - at this stage in his character growth - to make. One person dying to save everybody. That’s smart. That’s the logical thing to do. It’s not pretty, but it’s what leadership looks like. That’s what Kane would say.
Kane thinks it’s a good trade. He tells Lexa her offer was generous, and he legitimately appears to mean it. He thinks Finn for a truce is a really good offer, because he hasn’t realized yet that he’s still making the same mistake over and over. He hasn’t yet hit the moment where he realizes that these are the very kind of decisions that shaped the Ark’s younger generation and lead him to explain to Abby that Clarke let the Tondc bombs fall for the same reason that she turned Jake in and he authorized the Culling - which is also the same impulse that led him to plead with Lexa to let him talk the Sky People into handing over Finn. This is what he means when he tells Abby “she learned it from us.”
And then we arrive at the best moment of the scene, at the very end, after Lexa has given Indra the command to rally the troops. Indra has said there can be no peace between Tree People and Sky People. Lexa calls out Marcus (correctly) for the fact that the Sky People sure as fuck aren’t behaving like people who actually want peace. You kind of get the sense that Lexa may think Marcus is the best of a bad bunch, and while she doesn’t hate him - she’s as respectful in addressing him as he is to her - she sure as hell doesn’t trust the rest of his people. And Kane gets it. He doesn’t tell her that she’s wrong. He doesn’t lie or argue away their actions. He says “we’re the same as you. When we’re attacked we defend ourselves.” Which you can see, ever so slightly, getting Lexa’s attention. And then in the final moments, as he’s begging her to reconsider and give him more time, he plays his last card.
“Tree People and Sky People together,” he says to her in Trigedasleng, and holy shit this is important.
Kane made the effort to learn Trigedasleng before anyone else except Octavia. He’s the first of the adults to treat Grounder culture with respect.
Indra insists that all Sky People are the same, that they are all the Grounder’s enemies. Lexa’s respect for Kane is how we realize that she doesn’t actually, deep down, believe that. Kane communicating with Lexa in her own language as a sign of respect,
and the way he has consistently treated her, feels in some way like what opens the door to
her relationship with Clarke.
Lexa’s betrayal at Mount Weather becomes a whole lot more complicated and interesting in the context of this scene, because it reminds you that the betrayal is a lot bigger than just Clarke. Long before the kiss, long before she went full-on heart-eyes for Clarke, she was considering the possibility of building a bridge between Trikru and Skaikru, and then she straight-up lit that bridge on fire.
Kane somehow evolved from the righteous asshole of Season 1 who refused to listen to anybody else’s opinions on goddamn anything into Camp Jaha’s most effective diplomat and literally who among us would have watched the pilot and ever in a thousand years seen that coming.
