her niece

At the end of the day I know I am good. Actually fuck that, I’m more than good, I am breathtakingly amazing. I am kind, I am compassionate, I am deserving of love. It’s your loss because this is what you’re missing;

Someone that laughs with her entire face regardless of how ‘unattractive’ some might think her laugh is. Someone that still has sleep overs with her nieces and nephews because Aunty makes the best fucking forts in town. Someone that every day, she tells her mother how beautiful she is just to see her smile. Someone that will pause in her tracks and take in the beauty around her. Someone that will literally stop on the side of the highway just to see the sunset and the cars passing by. Someone that once cried at the sight of seeing the night sky filled with so many stars. Someone that jumps in a puddles instead of jumping over one. Someone that will spontaneously decide that she wants to go to Greece because life is not certain but right now, right now is. Someone that even though she is 20 years old still grabs the bubbles from her bath to make a bubble beard. Someone that is an amazing sister, daughter, aunt, & friend.

For every person that has hurt me, lead me on, decided I wasn’t interesting enough to get to know, you see the thing is, I can fill up an entire library. Most of you were once eager to read but got anxious from the second page, and one day, one day someone will come in, be amazed at my architecture and how I am still standing with all these stories inside me and be excited to read me, to know me, to love me.

—  thank you

What are your thoughts on last episode's roisa scenes ??

they. were. shit. i’ve done plenty of complaining on twitter already, but seriously jtv what the fuck? they keep recycling this “rose takes off blonde wig, rafael is suspicious, will luisa leave with her?” shit and it’s getting real old. you also can’t tell me rose and luisa haven’t gone through any character development during those years we didn’t see them / the time gap? they still fight and rose still talks to her in that manipulative way. you can’t tell me they haven’t been working on their relationship or that luisa still hasn’t seen her nephew and nieces yet. they should bring back rose and luisa for some interesting storylines, have bridget and yara act out some challenging and amazing scenes. but no, instead they just go with what they already know and bringing them back for fanservice. bridget and yara deserve better than this bullshit and so do the fans.

Just found out someone in my family (I think it’s one of my aunts or her niece or whatever) got breastcancer… they’re gonna have to remove her boobs to prevent the spread.
I mean it’s better than losing your life but still damn….

Preview of a commission. Rony survived a attack from a human (private rp thread with Anita and her monster hating oc) that tried to harm one of her baby bones nieces and nephews, it cost her almost half her face but she did everything to keep the kiddos safe. She doesn’t hide her face though, it help keep other humans away but she doe misses being called petty.

Also, @stylesunchained…I dared. I’m sorry.

Harry was waiting patiently for someone on the other end of the phone to answer his call. He had called exactly when he always did; 6:30 on the dot in London, which was half an hour before his daughter went to bed. The nightly ritual had been the same for the past two weeks; he would call before bedtime, talk to his little girl as soon as she had her pajamas on, say goodnight before you tucked her in, and then call back after she was asleep and talk to you until his eyes started to droop. It wasn’t ideal - he would have much rather been home with the two of you - but it was better than nothing.

The familiar and sweet sound of your voice finally echoed in his ears and he saw your face pop up on the tiny screen.

“Hey you,” you smiled, “How are you?”

“Tired,” he replied, rubbing at his eyes a bit to keep them focused, “Lots of meetings and interviews today. Is she still up?”

“Of course. I’ve just had her run and brush her teeth; she should be out soon, she knows what time it is.”

Another few minutes went by as you and Harry talked about what had been going on, but you knew Harry was getting antsy to talk to someone else. As much as he loved conversations with you, he only had a limited time with his daughter before she fell asleep.

“(Y/D/N)!” you called, turning your head, “Daddy’s on the phone and he’s waiting for you!”

It was only a few seconds before the thumping of tiny feet could be heard running down the hallway. A moment later, Harry saw the wild hair of his three-year-old appear in frame and he chuckled.

“Hi, monkey,” he said, waving.

“Hi daddy!”

“I miss you. How are you?”

“I’m good. I went to Nana’s today and Auntie Gem was there!”

Harry grinned. “Was she? That sounds like fun. Did she let you play salon with her hair again?”

His daughter nodded, excitedly. That was one thing Harry was so thankful for; a sister who didn’t care if her niece wanted to poke, prod, braid or twist her hair within an inch of its life. Gemma was always game for a little ‘toddler spa day’.

“Daddy, guess how many more days!!”

“Hmm,” Harry thought, “I don’t know. Tell me.”

She held up both hands, folding two fingers down.

“Only this many! An’ then you’ll be home, daddy!”

At the Russian Court (2/?)  R U S S I A N    I M P E R I A L    W E D D I N G

It had been a tradition since the 19th century that every brides of the Russian Imperial family would wear the same jewels on their wedding day.

The imperial nuptial jewels consisted of the imperial nuptial crown, created in 1840 by the jewellers Nickol and Plincke, using diamonds set in the great girdle of the time of Catherine the Great. The diamond tiara of the Empress Elizabeth Alexeievna with at his center the Paul I pink diamond. The collier d’esclave, a total weight of 475 old carats, some of the diamonds have a blue or pink tint, producing an enchanting effect. Diamond earrings in the form of cherries that belonged to Catherine the Great. These earrings were so heavy that they had to be supported with wires looped around the top of the ears, as the day wore on, the wire cut into the flesh, causing Alexandra much pain. Her niece Maria recalled on her wedding day :My earrings hurt me so that in the middle of the banquet I took them off and hung them, to the great amusement of the Emperor [Nicholas II], on the edge of the glass of water before me.“

And the great clasp of Catherine the Great’s imperial mantle. They also wore a mantle of crimson velvet. Except for the wedding of Alexandra, as a concession to her rank as bride of the emperor, her imperial mantle was of cloth-of-gold, lined and edged with ermine. These robes were so heavy that eight pages - four on each side - and the chamberlain, carrying the hem, had to help carry them; without their assistance, Alexandra could scarely move.
Their hair were swept back and coiled into a bun at the back of their heads, by tradition two ringlets hung down on either side of their faces.

“These were, first, the diadem of the Empress Catherine, with a pink diamond of extraordinary beauty in the centre and the small crimson velvet crown all covered with diamonds.  Then came the diamond necklace of large stones, the bracelets, and the earrings in the shape of cherries, so heavy that they had to be attached to gold hoops and ringed over the ears. […] Finally, they laid upon my shoulders the crimson mantle of velvet, with cape and edges of ermine, fastened by an immense [diamond] buckle.  Someone helped me to rise.  I was ready.”  Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna

A witness on the wedding of Alexandra recalled : "How beautiful she is! That expression followed her all along her path, and it is true that her appearance was positively magnificent as she stood there in her bridal array of silver cloth… Her unusual height helped her to bear the weight of her dress and set off its splendor in its best light.”  This imposing yet formidable ensemble dazzled everyone and was a formidable mirror of the pomp and splendour of the Russian court.

‘i’ll let you know when i become more interested in kissing someone than in quantum physics, okay?’

you know, if everything had gone to plan, Kara would have been in her mid-40′s by the start of the series (she was 13 when she left, around 20 years were spent in stasis, then another 12 years from when she got to Earth to when the series started).

So, when Astra saw the news circulating that picture of a girl who’s young, brown hair, and just flew a plane on her back, did she think Kara, or did she think Kara’s daughter?

favourite ace attorney things:

  • there is only one hotel in this whole city
  • having two different characters based entirely around the fact that they sell noodles for a living, in two different games, completely independent of each other
  • only ever having at most like 2 named cops per case, except for RFTA where everyone is a cop
  • larry never having a reason to be anywhere yet. always being there
  • the fact that hordes of people now believe the local lake is inhabited by a giant monster, and how that fact is literally never mentioned again
  • having two different instances of weapons being concealed INSIDE LIVING PET DOGS, in two different games, completely independent of each other
  • franziska von karma
  • the judge’s brother being ridiculously canadian while the judge is… not.
  • the fact that the presiding judges (not counting junie and justine) are only known as “judge”, “judge’s little brother” and “khura’inese judge” and we know absolutely nothing about them as people except that they’re old
  • dhurke becoming king consort of an entire nation, and remaining a practising lawyer
  • meeting your daughter in jail for the first time in years, seeing her be executed, manipulating your youngest daughter into channelling her sister’s spirit in order to kill your sister to stop your niece - her daughter - from ruling your tiny village, but being stopped by your third daughter, said niece, and some guy who dated two of your daughters at once but never noticed that they were different people. also some guy who worked with your other niece was there.
  • the whole idea of “japanifornia”

listen you can ship whatever you want but never again compare steggy and stucky, peggy is the single most important person in steve's life, she has motivated him to do everything he does, she has been his only support in life, wouldnt be cap without her and he has never loved will never love anyone else more than he loves peggy, it's nowhere near a radom childhood friend that died in the war, just cause you want to see two hot dudes kissing doesnt mean you will prop bucky and steve's friendship

Wow……I mean I literally said in the post that disregarding the depth and extent of Steve and Bucky’s bond to justify a het pairing is the most thinly veiled example of homophobia in the fanbase and here you are….proving my point lmao.

Let’s break this down shall we:
-“Peggy is the single most important person in Steve’s life” - False. Bucky was. Quote to support- “Best friends since childhood, Bucky Barnes and Steven Rogers were inseparable on both schoolyard and battlefield.”

- “She has motivated him to do everything he does.” - False. Bucky has been his driving motivation throughout all 3 Cap movies. Quote to support - “I won’t stop until all of Hydra are captured or dead” (spoken after Hydra were the cause of Bucky falling)

- “She has been his only support in life” - False??? She was literally around for like 2 years of his life, if that. They kissed one time and never went on a date. Bucky however, literally at times the only support he had. Quote to support - “Even when I had nothing, I had Bucky.”

- “Wouldn’t be Cap without her.” False. He was already Cap. He got chosen to be Cap bc he already had all the characteristics they wanted for their poster boy. It was Erskine who gave him the serum not Peggy. And the moment he actually became Captain America: The First Avenger™ was when he went on a one man solo mission with the sole intention of rescuing Bucky. That’s when he became more than just a “dancing monkey.”, his need to protect Bucky. Quote to support - “What are you going to do, walk to Austria?” “If that’s what it takes.”

- “He has never loved, will never love anyone as much as he loves Peggy.” False. Took him approximately half an hour after her funeral to make out with her niece. Peggy was important to him no doubt, but like previously mentioned, they kissed once, never went on a date, and didn’t really even know each other.

- “It’s nowhere near a random childhood friend that died in the war.” Bullshit lmao. I don’t even have the time. They were best friends who were inseparable. Quotes to support the level of bullshit this statement is - “Thanks Buck, but I can get by on my own” “That’s the thing, you don’t have to. Because I’m with you til the end of the line”

Get to fuck with your transparent as hell homophobia, I don’t have the time for it.

OKAY, SO. LET’S HAVE A TALK ABOUT HELGA HUFFLEPUFF. BECAUSE. I HAVE SO MANY THINGS TO SAY.

Here’s the thing; in my head, Helga Hufflepuff has always been a soldier. Yes, she’s kind and fair, but she also knows when a good hex or a punch in the face is the only solution. This does not happen often. She’s friendly and accepting and patient. But when someone threatens her friends, or her family, or her students, that someone better be prepared to have her wand aimed at them. Or better yet, a sword. Use what you know and all that, and while she’s great with her hexes and curses and even some charms used in a way her old mentor would definitely not have approved of, there’s just something incredibly satisfying in meeting someone sword to sword. She and Godric spars every now and then, though it’s clear he’s more of a dueler than a soldier. But Helga. Helga joined the war when she was 15, and she never regretted it. It was grueling, and it was painful, and she watched so many of her companions fall. But she joined for a reason – to protect (her family, her little nephews and nieces and all the children of her village) and to, one day, try and change the world enough that war wouldn’t be necessary. She fought for years, rising in rank as fewer and fewer of her friends were left, and she refused to give up. This was for the children. This was for the future.

When she was 23, she became general. And at 24, the war finally ended. And then she had to find something else to do.

She went back to her village, to the little houses and fields and her family. And for a while she was content, but not for long. She wanted to do something, because that was the reason she joined the war in the first place. For change. She wanted peace, and quiet, and a place to call home. But when she had it, she realized she only knew how to fight. And she was not going to accept that.

She went to find her old mentor, an aging wizard who kept forgetting his wand in odd places but who also knew a lot of spells and had more magical books than she had seen anywhere else in her life (later, when she met Rowena Ravenclaw and saw her collection, she would stare at it for ten minutes and then just go “nope” and walk out of the room). She asked him to teach her as much as he could. What he’d taught her before she left for the army was useful, but if she was gonna change the world she needed more.

He listened to her, listened to her reasons and her dreams and then he sat her down with a cup of tea and started talking about magical theory. Most of her went over her head. She listened anyway.  And she kept coming back. And when she realized how many children he’d helped out through the years (her among them), she asked him about that. He started spouting even more magical theory. And she kept listening. And when it was over and he said he couldn’t teach her anymore, she knew more about accidental magic and magical cores than she thought possible. And she was satisfied, because this was what she needed to know. Something that could help. Something that could change a life, or two, or a hundred, if you only had the people to teach it to. This was for the children. This was for the future.

And then she met two wizards and a witch, constantly bickering and joking and everything in between. And the wanted to start a magic school. Of course she went with them. It was the purpose she had been looking for. It was a way to do what she’d always dreamt of.

They started planning how to do it, and moved into Godric’s family castle up in Scotland. As they decided to split the students into four groups, Helga started to get irritated. She had spent half her life fighting a war, she knew that you couldn’t always get the brave or the smart or the cunning. You had to use the resources that were available. Anyone could become a good soldier (or student, she supposed) if they were trained properly.

She was a general, and she’d take anyone who wanted to learn. She was a soldier, and she’d take anyone who would work hard, because that’s all you need to change the world. She was a 15 year old girl who joined the army, and she remembered what it was like when people judged you for your bravery, for your intelligence, for your strength. She was a 26 year old veteran, and she would punch anyone who said you couldn’t learn because of something as stupid as who you are. In the face. They’d deserve it, for implying that her students weren’t good enough.

@egdramaqueen I said it “needs a bit of polishing” which apparently means I sit here and write another 700 words into it in less than an hour, so here it is. I finished it.
