Honestly, I think this is my favorite bughead kiss (so far) purely for the cheeky little smile he gives her as he runs his hand up her leg. It’s so cute and sexy all at the same time, my brain can’t handle it <3 <3 <3
You read that right. 15.1. This was another hella long chapter, that was just as magnificent as the rest. @outlandishchridhe finally had a little time so we plotted this one out. It won’t be as long as 14, but we’re getting close to the Due Date. @widchadidcha, no more complaining. And stop trying to recruit my cats!
It’ll be below a cut because it’s still a bit lengthy. Let me know if you can’t read it and I’ll see what I can do.
Bellamy looks up with a grin as his dressing room door crashes loudly against the wall. “I see you’ve read the script.”
Clarke falls across his couch like a swooning southern belle, one hand to her forehead.
“After all we’ve been through, Bellamy. I can’t believe you would father one of my own sister’s twins.”
“Just one of the twins,” he points out, spinning his chair to face her. “Because that’s biologically possible.”
“That doesn’t make it better,” she sniffs, but her expression cracks into a smile when she looks over at him.
This is why Clarke is his favorite person on set. She, somehow unlike the rest of their cast, is aware of just how ridiculous their show actually is.
Which is part of why he likes it, honestly. He got into acting because there didn’t seem like much of a downside– if he didn’t get regular work, it was something he could fit around his patchwork schedule of minimum wage positions, and if he did get something more steady, it seemed like it would pay a lot more than Starbucks.
He never set out to be a serious actor, hence why he had no reservations about going out for any job, from voicing a squirrel in a Geico commercial to, yes, soap operas. He took the job because it gave him enough hours to get health insurance from the SAG. But ask him why he looks forward to going in to work every day, and he’d have to try really hard not to mention Clarke Griffin.
“Really?” He asks now, propping his feet up on her thigh. “It wouldn’t be worse if I was the father of both her twins?”
“You slept with her even after I saved your life.”
“I wouldn’t have gotten hypothermia if you hadn’t pushed me down that well in the first place!”
“I was possessed by my dead lover’s ghost,” she says, fighting a smile. “It was really traumatic for me.”
“For you,” he mutters. “Which one of us had to spend six hours in cold water?”
“I thought it was twelve.”
“I’m not talking about Antonio. I’m talking about me, Bellamy. They couldn’t even make it warm water?”
“They were going for realism,” she says, patting his ankle patronizingly.
“Yeah, realism is really important to this show,” he snorts. “Realistically, I doubt I would have taken my shirt off if I was hypothermic.”
“It was wet, it wasn’t keeping you warm,” Clarke points out, finally letting herself smile. “Besides, if you’re going to die, might as well go out looking hot.”
“Oh, you think I’m hot?” He teases, nudging her in her most ticklish spot with his foot.
She yelps and swats at it. “You were shirtless and ripped and wet. Yeah, I think that’ll do it for me.”
A/N:Sooo idk if this is what you had in mind but it’s not really an argument per say. It’s more like a discussion. Riley being insecure and scared that they wont last forever and Lucas not having one single doubt that they will. Hope it’s okay and that you enjoy it! xo

No matter how nice the furnishings inside the airplane were,
to Riley it would never be more than a flying metal tube. She crossed her heart
as she stepped over the threshold and smiled stiffly at the stewardess. She tried to remind herself that it was a
short flight and that it was definitely worth it. All she had to do was get
through the next four hours and she’d be back in Lucas’ arms. That alone was
enough to steady her nerves.
She had just
graduated from Columbia two days ago and thankfully Lucas’ graduation was a few
days apart which gave her enough time to fly down to Texas to surprise him for
his graduation. Because he went to A&M after high school the last four
years of their relationship was spent hundreds of miles apart with the
occasional visit on holidays and breaks. It definitely wasn’t easy, there were
times when they both felt like it was too hard but every time it became more
apparent that what they had was worth fighting for.
She took a deep breath as she slipped into her seat, staring
out the window. She quickly glanced at the watch on her wrist, counting down
the hours until she was in Austin. ‘4
hours and 10 minutes’ she thought to herself. Riley plugs her headphones
into her ears, turns up the music and doesn’t open her eyes again until the
plane was coming in low, rushing toward a runway that seemed almost unreachable.
Hey I was wondering if maybe u could please write a Trimberly fic where they get caught being gay by Kim's parents or the other rangers and Trini is freaking out but Kim just finds it super cute and hilarious and teases Trini about it? Xx :)
Here ya go.
Summary: Basically they get caught making out and Trini freaks out and Kim calms her down.
The thing is… Kim’s parents are often gone. Kim’s dad is a pilot, an air ambulance pilot to be exact, often on call 24/7 and given random days off; her mother on the other hand is a doctor, often working overtime because of the demand, often coming home late (when Kim is asleep) and waking up early (before Kim wakes up).
The other thing is… Kim brings her one month old girlfriend home to make out and maybe touch each other in the privacy of their own home (Kim’s home). Going to Trini’s would be chaos if her family, especially her mother, were to find out about them. Trini just knows that coming out to her parents would be hell on earth, she knows how they think and she knows how she will be treated when she does come out.
So, here’s Kim and Trini, on their way to Kim’s home after a nice dinner date to celebrate their one month. Kim had treated Trini out to a nice Italian restaurant near the bigger city and they had been handsy all night long, that’s what happens when you sit next to each other on a booth table. Groping each other, mostly Kim, running their feet up and down each other’s legs, and kissing when available.
S/o finding Ardyn in a sweet moment with a child? Could be his child or some other child that reminds him about his own. Thank you!
Mega apologies for the long wait Anon!
In my actual headcanon, Ardyn never had children of his own, whether he never had time to settle and start a family, or he tried but something tragic happened.
However this could be really sweet so let’s imagine!
✓ While stopping for gas at an outpost, his s/o offers to pop into the Crow’s nest for some takeaway coffee. ✓ Ardyn waits with the car, while his s/o gets into a little convo with someone at the counter. He doesn’t mind though. He’s got time. ✓ While people-watching, his eyes land on a little girl, sitting alone on a fold-chair, eyeing up the ice cream cart. She’s about five or six, sitting on her hands, swinging her little legs back and forth. She’s got dark unruly hair and big, hazel eyes. ✓ A young man approaches the cart and buys a large scoop of chocolate ice cream for his date. The girl watches with hungry eyes, her mouth making a little o when she sees the size of the dessert. ✓ He can’t help but smile at the little girl. Observing her animated little features, she reminds him of someone… someone very dear. The more he looks at her, the more he agrees - yes, she does also look a little bit like him. Was that something his daughter might’ve looked like? ✓ He approaches her cautiously, kneeling down in next to the chair. She stars at him with her large eyes. ✓ “Hello. What’s your name? I’m Ardyn” ✓ She’s a little shy but tells him her name, looking away. ✓ “Where are mummy and daddy?” ✓ “Mummy’s working still, she says she has to work hard and make the coffees.” ✓ “Oh dear, and you have to wait here?” ✓ “Yes, but I could also wait inside if I wanted…” ✓ Her answer makes him chuckle, her gaze longingly returning to the ice cream cart. ✓ “Does mummy allow you ice cream?” ✓ “Sometimes…” ✓ “What’s your favourite flavour? I wonder if it’s same as mine… let’s say it at the same time and see if it is. One, two, three…” ✓ They both say “chocolate” and the little girl giggles with delight. “It’s the BEST!” she adds. ✓ “I think for that trick, you deserve a little scoop. Wait here,” he pats her head, and heads to the cart to purchase a scoop of chocolate ice cream while she eagerly waits, swinging her legs back and forth excitedly. ✓ As he returns and hands her the treat, his s/o comes out of the Crowsnest with their coffees. They apologise it took them so long, explaining they got talking to the waitress. As they see the little girl scooping the ice cream, they let out an “aww” followed by a heartfelt laugh. ✓ “What’s funny?” ✓ “So you fell for it too?” they giggle. “Her mum was just telling me how she sits here waiting for kind strangers to buy her ice cream every day…” ✓ “Well well,” he grins, looking at her happily munching on the treat, smiling back at him without a care in the world. “She definitely got me there… I knew there was a reason…” ✓ His s/o gives him a big smooch as they return to the car, the little girl calling after the two of them: “I also like strawberry!”
I’ve never had a child so I’m hoping it does the healing process some sort of justice, especially to our favourite fictional couple. ♡♡♡♡♡
Jamie awoke to an empty bed once more, he rolled over and lay his hand against the mattress feeling the cool sheets beneath. She’d been gone a while. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and pulled himself from below the duvet before dragging himself around the apartment. He found her darning his socks in front of the fire, he could see the tear tracks drying on her face as she methodically stitched.
“Claire, mo nighean, come back to bed?” He placed his hand against her shoulder making her jump a little. She shifted causing his hand to fall against his side. “Another nightmare?”
“I’m fine, really. I’ll just finish this. You go back to bed.”
“Dinna tell me yer fine, Claire. I kent that ye arena.” He sighed when she didn’t respond and shifted himself so that he stood in front of her before kneeling down at her feet. “Claire, ye said the same to me; do ye remember? Dinna shut me out, talk to me about it, aye?”
She dropped her head, her hands stilling as they gripped the needles tight, “I will, Jamie. Just…go back to bed, please.”
He leant up, kissed her forehead softly and ran his fingers through her loose curls. She didn’t shy away from his touch this time, but she didn’t lean in as she would have before. He brought his hand away, his heart sinking at the prospect of hours alone but he did as he was asked. As he walked the empty halls he let his fists ball at his sides. Fergus was quiet, Claire wouldn’t discuss the monsters that haunted her dreams and the staff all hid away from all of them. Only a week left, he muttered to himself. The thought of getting home to Scotland lightened his spirits somewhat, but they had to wait for Murtagh to return from Portugal before they could go anywhere.
Their bedroom seemed empty as he paced the floor, no longer able to sleep. His boots echoed off the wood, the clomp clomp of the soles forming a depressing rhythm as he waited for Claire to come back to him. The clock ticked on, the only other sound in the room, haunting him with each turn that left him alone. Minutes turned into hours and the sun began to set once more. He kent there was a price to pay, he’d lost his daughter and his wife’s trust in a matter of minutes and now it seemed Claire was having difficulty finding her way back to him.
He knew very well the other side of the coin. He could feel her sorrow, her self-loathing, her anger. It seeped from her like blood from a wound and the more she held it in, the harder it got for her to make her way back into the light.
He pulled the small ewer from below the bed and began to fill it with water, he’d shaved only days before but he had to keep his hands busy. Washing himself thoroughly, he shut his mind off and went about his task. The blade slid over the soft contours of his face removing the scant hairs there, he focused on that, on keeping the sharp edge close enough to clean him but not so close as to cut him. He did this over and over until he heard the soft click of the door opening and closing.
Quietly he packed away the razor and listened at the dip of the bed as she sat. Neither said a word as he poured the water out of the side window and placed the small tin tub on the table. She remained silent. His fingers ran over the grain of wood on the sideboard and tapped in time with the clock, hoping that she’d speak given time. When it became obvious that she wouldn’t, he turned and made his way over to her.
She was sat much the same as she had been in the sitting room, her eyes focused only on the deep green of her dressing gown. He could tell she’d been crying more, the whites of her eyes having turned a sore looking red.
“I love ye, Claire, by Christ I do. Ye need to relive yerself o’ this burden, we have the time now. We’re alone, I canna say we will be once we get back on the road home. Dinna shut me out.” He got back down on his knees in front of her and took her hands in his, rubbing his fingers over the soft skin of the back of them. She was shaking, her palms clammy but he wouldn’t be deterred. He took her wrist with one hand and brought it to his lips, kissing her delicately and with the other he cupped her sodden cheek.
After all the trials of the last few weeks she was truly raw. Her insides felt as if they’d been mashed with a blunt spoon. Her meeting with the King lingered like a choking smog, coating her lungs with a foul tar. She’d done it to save him and she’d do it again should she need to, but in the aftermath of losing Faith and learning of Fergus’ assault she’d had little time to grieve for herself. Now, as they’d been left alone, she was finally feeling the consequences of her actions.
He watched, as best he could, as a myriad of different emotions crossed her face. In an effort to comfort her he moved her gown aside, the room was baking hot and he’d started to feel it despite only being in his shirt. She didn’t move, letting him remove it from her shoulders leaving her in nought but her shift. The tiny bump protruded from her, reminding him of what they’d lost. He felt her hiccup and sob as she felt it too. She’d been hiding the evidence away, trying to move past it as best she could without the reminders. He put his hands on her thighs, spreading her legs a little as he tried to stem the hurt.
In a flash she was half way across the bed, her eyes wide and filled with fresh tears as she gripped her knees to her chest. Jamie stayed where he was, his hands raised in surrender. Claire’s heart was pounding now, her skin crawling. She knew it was Jamie, but she could feel Louis, his hands had barely made contact with her but it’d been to part her knees. She let her legs slide along the coverlet as she came back to herself, her hands immediately coming to rest on her belly.
An immense feeling of emptiness overwhelmed her and in a moment she had fallen to her side, curled up in a ball and allowed the relentless sobs to roll through her, much like at L'hôpital. Jamie crawled along the bed towards her, tears welling in his eyes now as he pulled her against his chest and whispered Gaelic prays against her ear. He hadn’t been there for her in the aftermath of his daughters’ death, he’d never be able to change that, but he was here now.
“Oh, Claire. I’m so…verra…sorry.” He mumbled into her hair, his chest feeling heavy as the words left his mouth. She twisted in his arms, burying her head against his chest, her fingers clenched tight to his back. He held her as her jagged breaths evened out and she fell asleep, rocking her as gently as he could whilst whispering quiet words of love and forgiveness. He knew there was nothing to forgive, of course, but he also knew the weight of such things and how they manifested in dangerous ways.
She slept through the night, occasionally her arms would clench and she’d tense as if about to bolt but his body was so attuned to hers, even with their separation, that he would immediately rock her back into an easy sleep once more. As day broke he tucked her up tight and went to summon Suzette. She needed some comfort, a warm bath and food. It wasn’t until he had all of this prepared that he went back to their rooms.
Claire was stood at the window as he entered the room staring into the courtyard below.
“Sassenach, come here to me, please.” He implored, she seemed so small stood all by herself, her shoulders hunched holding the weight of the world on them. She turned slowly and inched her way towards him, stepping into his arms and laying her head against his chest. “I’m going to bathe ye, then we’ll talk.”
“I don’t want a bath, Jamie.” Her voice was muffled against his chest, the vibrations of it ran through him.
“Let me take care of ye, a gràidh. I just want to wash ye.”
“I’m quite capable, you know!” She snapped, her fists clenching at her sides as she pushed herself away from him. Her cheeks were flush red in anger, her eyes alight. “I don’t need you to care for me. I did perfectly alright by myself!”
“Claire. I didna mean to offend ye, I ken that ye can, just that I dinna wish ye to. Ye’ve been through a lot, it’s alright to let me.” He held his hands out to her, a peace offering but she simply wrapped her arms around her midsection as if holding herself together. This just wouldn’t do, he thought. She was hiding from him.
Her head dropped as her shoulders slumped in resignation. “I don’t want to, Jamie. Please just leave it be. I’ll talk to you, I said I would.”
“Aye, ye did. Ye will, I ken that well enough, but what’s stopping ye from coming wi’ me now?” He took one step towards her, bridging the physical gap whilst trying to overcome the metaphorical one.
“I just,” her mouth opened and closed as if she were fighting with herself internally, editing her thoughts.
“Dinna hide from me, Claire. Dinna allow this to fester within ye, just tell me, aye?” His words cut through her like a knife and she brought her head up to meet his eyes.
There it was.
Jamie had to school his features so his shock didn’t show and stop her from talking to him. “Ye have naught t’ be ashamed of, my Claire. Why do ye feel so?”
She steeled herself, pulled her chin up and swallowed audibly, her eyes held a glint of fear as she spoke.
“Because I am. Because I couldn’t keep her alive. Because I have the marks to prove it. Because I don’t want to see what remains of her,” the tears dripped down her cheeks, her face a slight red colour as she tried to hold in her grief, “because even though I had to, I slept with another man and I can’t stop feeling his hands against my skin.” A shudder ran through her as her nails bit into the skin of her upper arms. She hiccuped in a breath, her sorrow hidden, badly, behind a veil of self-loathing.
“Claire, mo nighean donn, my Sassenach. Ye did everything ye could!” He stepped forward again, his fingers prying hers from where they lay. She was stone cold, as if all the blood had left her body. “She was meant for the Angels, and I dinna ken it fer sure, but I dinna think there was more ye could have done for our wee Faith.” He pulled her to him, forcing her to make contact as she shook in his arms. “As for the King, he willna touch ye again. I meant what I said about us taking this on together, aye? That means ye must tell me these things. For both our sakes.”
She nodded against him, her tears soaking through his nightshirt.
Neither said anymore as Suzette came to fetch them. Jamie simply swept her up and carried her through to the sitting room. The fire was blazing, the silver tub glowing in the darkened room as he relieved her of her shift. She shrank backwards, her whole body seeming to reject the notion of being so exposed to him but he wasn’t going to let her hide away any longer. They needed to face this together. The silence stretched on as he lifted her into the warm water, the steam leaving a layer of condensation on her exposed skin.
He reverently cleansed her, washing over her shoulders and arms first before dipping below the waterline to run the soft towel along her submerged legs. Her left her tummy for last, the delicate skin there still showing signs of their child. She jumped a little, the water sloshing against him as she moved but she settled soon enough.
He gulped in a breath, his lungs seeming to shrink with the pressure of the emotion in the room. “I ken how hard this is for ye, Claire, but yer so beautiful to me. I hope these marks never fade from your belly, but even if they do she’ll always be with you. With us.” He took her hand then, twinned with his, and place it over his heart first and then against hers. “She’ll always be a part of ye, and a part of me. Dinna fret.” Leaning forward he touched her forehead with his so delicately. “Tha gaol agam ort, Faith, a leannan.”
Suddenly her lips were against his, their tears mingling as she wrapped her hands behind his neck. “Take me to bed, Jamie. You’re…please, you make it stop. You make the pain stop.” She murmured between kisses, her lips shaking with the force of the words.
“Aye, but I willna rush ye, Claire.” He held her close, the front of him completely soaked now as he carried her back to their bed.
She lay against the soft sheets as he undressed, her red-rimmed eyes focused on each tentative movement as he pulled the damp shirt over his head. She could see the fear in his eyes but she knew he’d come to her. They needed to erase the horror of the past few weeks, of their whole failed stint in Paris. The only way she knew how to wash herself of this powerful mourning was with his body against hers, naked and as one. They would find a way back to each other, and now as they both hit rock bottom, they discovered the subtle nuances they first sought in the heat of their first encounters.
Claire lifted herself off the bed using her elbows as leverage as he came towards her, his muscular thighs quivering in the dim lighting of the room. His legs were covered in a smattering of lush golden red hairs that stood on end, the gooseflesh covering him causing them to rise. The smooth incline of his wrists tensed and released as he clenched his fists. They’d fallen into a dank pit, and now spluttering and scarred they had to crawl back into the light. He was her light.
Jamie watched as she inched back on the bed, her throat twitching as she swallowed, the slight bulge of muscle in her calves becoming more defined as she moved. He reacquainted himself with her body, the newly grown thatch of hair at the apex of her thighs, the rounder swell of her tummy and the deeper pink of her nipples. She’d always been a beauty to him, now in the swath of the mid-afternoon light and the candlelight of their chambers she was even more so. Her long pale fingers buried themselves deep into the coverlet as she bowed her head coquettishly. She looked just as she had done on their wedding night. Filled with trepidation, but now she had a new aura.
There was the love and lust of their early days, the fear of newly discovered companionship but overhanging all of that there was the deep blue mingling of loss. It almost made her glow and only he kent how to lessen the pain.
As he moved to stand in front of her she brought her hands up and caressed every inch of him she could reach, she ran her palms over his tummy, over the slight indent at his hips and over the swell of his thigh. He’d lost some tonal definition, likely from his time in the Bastille, just as she’d lost some roundness in her face. They were changed, but only marginally.
He pushed forward, bending over her so she had to lie back against the pillows. He then began to worship every small fraction of her. The skin at her neck smelled of soap and tasted vaguely of roses and bath water. His tongue lapped greedily in the hollows of her collar bone and down the valley between her breasts. The bend of her arm still held a feminine sweat that he basked in, using his lips to tickle her so that she twitched and moaned in the most delightful way. He ran his nose over her left side, the dry patches of scant hair there brushing lightly against him. Hovering over her, he looked up under his ruddy lashes as she gazed down at him, resting his chin against her belly.
“Lord, that we may be granted with another. I shall see it so.” He whispered as he closed his eyes and prayed. His lashes brushed against her, minutely, and she trembled briefly. Her legs raised to hold his bottom where it was. He kissed her then, over every inch of her small swell. Over the stretch marks that indented the pasty skin, the silver slithers making the most extraordinary patterns. His tongue felt exquisite as it ran over them, the thinner skin there being more sensitive than usual. Moisture quickly sprang to her eyes as she cried quietly to herself, the joy and pain mingling as he took away the more devastating parts of her loss with his mouth, with his body, with himself.
He could feel her lie against the mattress, her body finally succumbing and he pushed himself up and inside her as she bucked under him. Her hips rose to meet his as her shoulders thrust upwards causing her head to arch back. Her hands gripped tightly at the sheets as she let out a gasp followed by a quiet moan. He had his hands resting either side of her chest as he moved oh so slowly above her, watching every single move she made, watching as he healed her as best he could in the only language he knew how.
Her eyes opened now, small slits that glowed deep blue, the red of her sobbing subsiding minute by minute as he loved her. He bent his head down meaning to capture her lips but settled for resting his forehead against her temple as she muttered and whispered jumbled words of need into the great expanse of the room.
He was slow, methodical and gentle as he allowed her body to take him into her over and over, highly aware of how delicate she still must be feeling but dedicated to showing her their new found strength. It seemed to go on for hours. Push and pull, up and down. The tepid air in the room becoming a white hot heat in their laboured passion. Jamie could barely breath as he shivered, his whole body ached and throbbed with the pressure of making it last, but he would. He wouldn’t rush.
All at once her legs fell flat against the bed, her hips hung in midair, pushed tight to his, as she cried out and gripped so painfully at the hair on his head that his scalp burned with the force of it. He felt her body shift and pulse, the energy of their coupling flowing through each of them as she gave herself over to him, to the pleasure he could rouse her to. He felt her tighten around him, harder than he’d ever felt it before. The warm wet muscles of her wrapping around his cock like he couldn’t believe. His eyes shut, scrunched tight as he lost himself to this out of body experience. His mouth hung open as he moaned a gruff almost painful sound, his arms and legs shaking as he too fell into the abyss. The blackness enveloped him as he let his arms fail and he toppled against her.
Claire felt his full weight and clung tight, twisting them so they lay side by side, every inch of skin touching. They breathed as one, the darkness behind her closed lids as comforting as the sheen of sweat that coated them both and caused them to stick together from top to toe. The only sound that reverberated through that small room; the panting breaths of the two lovers, battered and bruised but alive.
“The only way to bare the weight of it is to do it together.” Were the last words she thought before letting herself slide into a more easy sleep than she’d had in weeks. He was right, together they were stronger and with their passage to Scotland booked, she was sure they would survive.
As the sun rose once more he watched her through sleepy eyes. She moved more now, her arms and legs seeming restless as she dreamt. It was in this pre-dawn that he re-memorised her once more, burning every inch of her into his memory for safe keeping. Kissing her softly all over her face he prayed; Lord that we may have another.
“I love you, Jamie.” She sighed in her sleep, her fingers twitching and reaching out for him, needing him closer.
“No’ long now, my Claire. Then I’ll take ye home. I love ye too.”
And eight year old Mycroft Holmes holds his arms out towards his mother, allows her to put his new sister into them.
She’s small, his sister. Wriggly. Red-faced and smelly, the scent of milk and poo hanging around her.
Her little pink onesie is sticky with goo and spit.
She looks cranky, there in his arms; her face is like a squashed prune. When he reaches out and touches her she sniffles and complains. Gives a few hacking little breaths and grunts, her voice oddly animal.
She doesn’t sound like a person yet, Mycroft thinks, and despite himself he feels a flash of distaste at the thought.
He stares down at her, trying to make himself believe that this, this new person came out of his Mummy. While he has understood the theory of childbirth for years he has never really believed it and little Eurus is doing nothing to convince him. She seems nothing like him, or his Mummy, or even Daddy. She seems an alien being, the sort of thing an evil fairy would leave on one’s doorstep. He can’t imagine her ever being interesting, or fun, or even particularly pleasant-
And then she opens her eyes.
Looks up at him.
Mycroft knows from his books that she can’t actually be looking at him, that her eyes probably can’t focus yet, but he still feels that gaze go straight to his core.
For she smiles at him. Gurgles. Her little legs kick and her little hands reach for him; he places his thumb against her palm and her fingers wrap around it, gripping with a surprising strength. Mycroft feels a sudden puff of light, of, of wonder go through him as she does this and in that moment she goes from being a weird, prune-faced space alien to being his sister. His little sister.
“Hello Eurus,” he says softly to her, and though he knows she can’t yet understand language, he feels that same puff of joy when she smiles at his voice. “I’m your big brother,” he tells her, “so from now on, whenever you have a problem I’m the one who’ll sort it out for you. I’ll make sure you’re alright- Alright?”
And as if she agrees she laughs again. Kicks again. When Mycroft looks over at his Mummy she has tears in her eyes- Happy ones.
“Finally,” she says softly. “Finally, we’re all a family…”
Mycroft kisses his sister’s cheek and then passes her back to his Mummy.
As he does so he silently vows that he’ll never let his family be parted again.
Killian blinked hard, an annoyed groan in his throat. His
shoulders still ached fiercely, a consequence of his imprisonment. Still, it
was worth it. He blinked against the light streaming in from the open window
sash. Where was he? He had a vague recollection from the last few hours, the
Queen permitting them to leave the dungeon. Emma. Where was Emma? He started to
roll over, only to encounter something warm and soft. There was a muffled
murmur and he pulled her deeper into his arms, burying his nose in her hair.
“Ugh, Killian,” Emma whined. Even as she complained, she
sleepily drew his arms even tighter around her. She felt warm and safe; it felt
like her dream world was real.
“Hush, love,” he mumbled, hand flat on her belly. She was
nude, fitting perfectly against him. He had no idea what time it was; they’d
arrived their new accommodations in the early morning, wasted no time in
christening the bed. However, they quickly fell into a deep sleep, exhausted.
What mattered was his princess was in his arms and not in that cell.

It’s also after the third time Lena’s almost been dropped from Kara’s arms.
It’s not Lena’s fault she almost falls, really it’s not. She

off her feet by a gorgeous blonde. She usually just tenses, tucking her arms
close to her sides and waiting for Kara to sweep her away. She can’t help how
stiff she gets. As much as she trusts Kara, as much as she loves being held by
her, heights are just not her thing.

Lucina huddled in the corner with baby Morgan. She was
scared and trying not to cry, because Aunty Lissa told her to be as quiet as

would be fine. And she did her best despite the screams and sounds of fighting outside
the room. She eeped at the sound of Aunt Lissa crying out and then falling
silent. There was a brief stillness before the doors flung open and hooded
figure stood at the entrance. She hugged little Morgan closer and cried
silently as the figure approached. Lucina closed her eyes and wished the person
would go away but the sound of footsteps crept closer and closer, until they
finally stopped. The young girl peeked through tear blurred eyes and instantly
recognized the person and smiled. “Mommy!” she stood up and moved
quickly as she could whilst holding her still sleeping little sister. She
hugged Robin’s leg with a free hand, relieved that her mother was here
“Mommy! I’m scared. Where’s Aunty Liss?” Robin remained silent as she
looked down at the two children. “Mommy?” Lucina finally noticed the
glowing red eyes staring back at her and she felt an uneasy chill go down her
back. “Mommy?” Robin began reaching down towards little Luci and the
young girl began to tear up again, terrified of her own mother. Everything will
be alright right? Aunty Lissa never lies.
Lucina felt a pair of arms wrap around her, her head
resting against a wet chest, and she recognized a familiar scent with a tinge
of what smelt like wet iron. “Luci, my brave little girl” Robin
pulled back and Lucina couldn’t see the red glow from before. “Mommy?
Where’s aunty Liss?”. Robin struggled to maintain her smile “Aunty
Lissa is helping… daddy…” Robin reached into her pocket and pulled out
a small handkerchief and wiped Lucina’s face as clean as she could, pulling it
back Luci saw that it turned red “Honey, I need you to do something for
mommy” Little Lucina nodded. Even daddy listened to mommy after all.
“Good” Robin’s hand was shaking a little as she pulled out a small
tome from under her cloak. A brief incantation and she casts a spell, a small
portal formed behind her, between them and the door. Lucina stared at the
swirling circle that seemed to stretch into infinite. Robin picked up Morgan
from Lucina and kissed her baby girl on the head. She stood up and held
Lucina’s hand, bringing her to the precipice of the wormhole before them.
“Lucina. I need you to take Morgan somewhere far away from here. This
portal will take you there.” Lucina grabbed Robin’s leg and protested
“I want to stay here with mommy!”. The tactician pulled her hood back
and kneeled down. Lucina could see the red stains across her mother’s cheeks
more clearly now. “Lucina, please you have to go. I need to help daddy
stop the bad people outside.” “But what about aunt Liss?” smoke
crept into the room as the sound of fighting outside seemed to have resumed
“Aunt Liss will follow you. And mommy and daddy will be right behind you.
OK?” Lucina looked unsure but if they were right behind her, she’ll be ok.
Lucina nodded and Robin smiled giving a farewell kiss to her two daughters.
“I love you both” She hands Morgan back to Lucina again and guided
her gently towards the light. After Lucina stepped through, the portal
collapsed and Robin almost immediately clutched at her head.
Grima’s voice had returned.
Chrom arrived at the room too late. He was badly injured
and bloodied and was seething with rage having just found Lissa.
“GRIMAAAAAA!” Robin simply stood there “WHERE ARE MY DAUGHTERS?!
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!!” she turned to face him with a twisted grin, her
eyes are once again red with Grima’s possession
“Don’t worry you’ll find out once you join them!” Chrom’s eyes
widened and he screamed at the top of his lungs charging his possessed wife’s
body. In an instant Chrom was impaled on Grima’s sword. He struggled for breath
and from his foe a soft voice emerged “C-Chrom?”. Robin had caught
the full blow, somehow she managed to regain enough control of her body to stop
Grima from dodging Falchion. “Robin… you… came back…” they
slowly slumped down together, leaning their head’s against each other’s
shoulders. “I-I’m s-so s-orry. I… wasn’t strong enough…. to stop
Grima” Chrom brought his arm up and caressed her head. “This i-isn’t
y-your fault…Luci…M-Mor-” “Th-they’re safe-” Robin coughed
up blood as she struggled to stay conscious. Chrom smiled unsure whether it was
a lie, but their children weren’t here, and there was no sign of a struggle.
“C-Chrom… kill me… s-stop Grima f-for good…” Chrom’s eyes
welled up “I’ll be here… to the end…” Robin understood. Neither
of them were leaving this place alive. They grasp the hilt of their respective
swords “I love you… Chrom…” “I love you too… Robin”. They
twist their blades.
The fire crept into the room, engulfing their bodies
and the castle burns to the ground.
It was night time still, the only source of light came
from the moon and the small portal Lucina stepped out of. Lucina wasn’t sure
where she was only that it was somewhere with a lot of trees and if she
remembers her picture book correctly, that would make this a forest.
Miraculously, her little sister continued to sleep soundly even after all
that’s happened. The portal closed behind her and she began to worry, but
Lucina wanted to be brave, after all, mommy and daddy were going to be right
there. Soon. Still cradling Morgan, she decided to sit down and wait for them.
The longer she waited the more tired she got, and she begins to nod off to
Eventually she began to wake up from the sound of crying.
As she opens her eyes, she hears someone in the distance. “Was that a
baby?” she rubbed her eyes with her hands and looked towards the sound of
hurried footsteps. Her vision was fuzzy but she saw a group of grownups heading
towards her and as one of them pointed at her as they rushed over as quickly as
possible. “Oh my Gods! It is a baby!” the voice sounded so familiar.
When she finally managed to focus on the woman kneeling in front of her, she
could see that it was aunty Lissa. “Hey there” Lissa started softly
“It’s ok, I’ll look after your little sis ok?” she picked up the
crying baby gently and began to rock her gently to try and calm her down. A
blue haired young man stood beside her aunt who began to give orders to some of
the men that was following him “Frederick! Grab some blankets and prepare
some food for them. Stahl take a search party and look around, their parents
might be nearby!”. Before she could say anything another young woman had
knelt in front of her, her smiles and tone of voice instantly recognizable.
“Hey there little miss, what’s your na-” Lucina almost bowled the
young woman over when she hugged her
Robin was caught off guard and wasn’t entirely sure on what to do. “I knew
you’d keep your promise!” Robin looked to the others awkwardly and Lissa
and Chrom just shrugged. The tactician patted the small girl on the head and
pushed her gently away. “Um… I’m not… I’m not your mother”.
Lucina’s face fell and she began to blub before beginning to cry quite loudly
“Hgk m-mommy doesn’t want Lucina anymore” Robin panicked and waved
her hands about a bit “Ah n-no that’s not what I meant, look I-I don’t- oh
Gods please don’t cry, Chrom? A little help?” Chrom scratched his head in
an aloof way “U-um, what about your father? Do you know where he
is?” Lucina sniffed and calmed down
a bit as she pointed directly at Chrom “What? I can’t be your father I’m
not mar-” the small child was set off again by Chrom’s comment “Daddy
doesn’t want Luci either!” Lissa found this a little amusing “This
sounds like quite the scandal” “Not helping!”
Robin took out a handkerchief and wiped away Lucina’s
tears, trying her best to calm her down, which was when she noticed that there
was blood on her cheeks. She examined Lucina closer and there was no wound.
“L-Lucina right, what did yo- what did I tell you to do? Mommy has a
headache and can’t remember much right now.” Lucina hiccupped from crying
so much. “Mommy *hic* told me to walk through the glowy door. Mommy
followed me through like she p-promised” Robin nodded and smiled “Ah
of course, did something happen to mommy before you went through?” Lucina
nodded “Y-you said you were helping daddy get rid of bad people”
Robin smiled “I see” she hugged little Lucina tightly “Mommy’s
sorry she forgot about the promise, but the bad people are gone now, so don’t
be scared ok?” her daughter calmed down quite a bit from the hug.
“Come on we’ll get you something to eat, you must be hungry.” she
turned to Chrom “Daddy will carry you to the camp” Chrom gave a slight
frown “Wait, I didn’t say I-” Lucina’s lower lip began to wobble when
her father looked like he’d decline. Robin on the other hand glared
threateningly at him to not make her cry again. Chrom smiled sheepishly and
decided to just play along “OK then, daddy will carry you”. Lucina
smiled again raising her arms to be picked up and Chrom couldn’t help but
smile. Picking up the girl he sat her over his shoulders which delighted Lucina
“OK then let’s go and get you a big roast bear for dinner” Lucina
giggled “Can we have some Kris’s after dinner?” Chrom felt strange
when she said that. Kris’s was his and Lissa’s favourite childhood sweets. It
was probably just coincidence. “I’ll have a look when we get back ”. Lissa
meanwhile couldn’t quite settle Morgan down “Um, Robin could you hold her?
Maybe you’ll have more luck”. “OK” Robin nodded and Lissa passed
the baby to her. Morgan almost instantly stopped crying. “OK that was a
bit spooky” Lissa quipped. Robin agreed, but she also felt a strange
connection with Morgan. Or maybe it was that she found the baby very cute.
They walked a short distance back to where they had
Fredrick had set aside some blankets, a
bottle of milk and is in the process of cooking some bear for the group.
“Thank you for your diligence as always Fredrick” Chrom picked Lucina
up off of his shoulders and placed her on the ground. “Can I have some
Kris’s now?” “After you’ve ate some bear” he leaned over to
Fredrick and whispered “Please say we have sweets” “I presume
milord wishes to avoid the young ladies cries of despair” “Ah you
heard” “Yes on both counts milord” “Thank Naga”. Chrom
knelt down and patted Lucina on the head “Dinner will be ready in a few
minutes, go play with Lissa until then” Lucina nodded and ran giggling
towards Lissa “Aunt Lissa! Aunt Lissa! Let’s play” “OK!”.
As Lissa chased Lucina around the camp, Robin picked up the bottle and started
feeding Morgan. She walked over to Chrom “Lissa’s jumping into her role
with enthusiasm” “She’s the youngest of us, I suppose it helps”
Robin smiled and looked at baby Morgan as she gulped her milk down “Say,
Chrom…” “Yes Robin?” “Are you… are you getting a
strange feeling of familiarity when you look at them?” Chrom rubbed his
chin in contemplation “I do… I’m not quite sure how to describe it
exactly. Maybe we’re just slightly emotional from managing to save them”
“I… I don’t know. Maybe.” Robin paused for a while “I think
they managed to escape some kind of trouble. Lucina did say her mother and
father were fending off some sort of enemy. Maybe a nearby village?” Chrom
shook his head “There aren’t any villages around here for miles, maybe a
merchant family?” Robin pulled the finished bottle from Morgan and saw
that she had fallen asleep already. “I don’t think so, Lucina described
going through a door, and most wagons don’t exactly have doors”. At that
moment the sound of hooves approached them and they could see that Stahl
arrived back with several other knights. “Stahl, did you find
anything?” he shook his head in response “Nothing along the road or
around the spot where we found the children milord. Should we search
again?” Chrom pinched his brow perplexed at their current situation
“No, I don’t think we’ll find anything tonight. We’ll do a quick search in
the morning before we have to head back to Ylisse”. “Guys, dinners
ready” the conversation was cut short by Lissa’s announcement “I
think a bit of food and rest will help clear our heads, come on let’s
eat”. Lucina bounced up and down in anticipation of food, Lissa teased her
by giving her a small bit of meat. She pouted to the amusement of her aunt
before finally given her a bigger portion of the bear. “Aunty Liss should
eat too!” she exclaimed excitedly “Uh aunty Liss isn’t that
hungry”. Lissa looked over to Fredrick and an idea for mischief hit her.
She flashed him an evil grin “I think Freddy is very hungry though”.
A sweat bead seemed to form on Fredrick’s head at the mention of eating bear.
He lost a bit more composure when Lucina walked up to him and offered her
portion of the bear. “Here you can have some of mine”. Fredrick was
cornered by the sweetly smiling girl before him and had no choice but to grab a
piece. “Th-thank you milady” he placed the food inside his mouth
quickly and chewed furiously before swallowing it. It took all his strength not
to collapse and vomit then and there. He smiled weakly at Luci and she smiled
back before she went off towards her parents with her plate of food.
“Milady Lissa you are evil” he said, shaking quite violently. Lissa
giggled “Just a little” as she watched Lucina interact with her
parents, Lissa nudged Fredrick “Hey. They almost look like a family
camping don’t you think?”. Fredrick was rinsing his mouth with water
before he answered “I suppose in a certain light. We’ve only known Robin
for two weeks though, so I don’t see it becoming reality”. Lissa pouted
“Aw you’re no fun”.
They joined the rest of Shepards and after
finishing their food they put the children to bed.
The next day the Shepards had searched the
area around them a second time but again found nothing to indicate where they
had come from. Finding no alternative they decided to head towards Ylisse. It
was an uneventful trip for the group, punctuated by the odd fits of laughter as
Lissa and Lucina played eyespy and being silly in general. When they arrived
inside the castle Chrom took Lucina, Morgan, Lissa and Robin to meet with the
Exalt to discuss what to do with the two young girls. They stood outside
Emmeryn’s private study and were greeted by Phila. She gave a short bow to the
royals “Prince Chrom, the Exalt is waiting for you inside”
“Thank you for arranging this on such short notice Phila ” she looked
to Lucina who hid behind Chrom’s leg, intimidated by the unknown knight
captain. Phila nodded to her and gave the slightest of smiles. Lucina continued
to grip Chrom’s trousers as she was led into the room.
Emmeryn was hunched over her desk filling out
her daily paperwork before pausing for a sip of her tea. “Sister”.
Emmeryn turned around and smiled “Ah, welcome home Chrom. I hope your
patrol has fared well” Emmeryn stood up and walked towards them “It
has been quiet, except for one incident” he turned to present Lucina but
she continued to hide behind her father. “Lucina, it’s alright, she won’t
hurt you” Lucina shook her head and tightened her grip on Chrom’s leg.
Emmeryn smiled and knelt to the young girl’s level “Hello Lucina, my name
is Emmeryn, pleased to meet you.” she extended her hand to Lucina. Luci
reached her hand out slowly, holding Emmeryn’s hand tentatively and stepped
from behind Chrom’s leg. “We found them in the forest with no sign of
their parents. Robin seems to think they were attacked before we arrived”
“But we saw no sign of a struggle your Grace” Robin chimed in and
knelt down to show Emmeryn the baby. “I see” Emmeryn stroked the baby
on the cheek. The exalt patted Lucina on the head “You’re very brave for
protecting your little sister Lucina.” She smiled shyly at the complement
and nodded. Emmeryn then noticed something odd when she looked at Lucina. She
gently cupped Lucina’s face and looked her directly in the left eye. “My
Gods”. Chrom rarely saw his older sister this concerned “What is it
“She has the Brand of the Exalt”
Chrom’s exclamation made Lucina jump a little “But if she has it, that would
mean-”. Robin was ahead of the prince and she had already began checking Morgan
for the Brand. Sure enough on the left shoulder blade of the baby, the Brand of
the Exalt was clearly visible. Chrom gawked for a moment before Phila coughed
to bring him to attention “I hope this doesn’t mean milord is responsible for
something scandalous” for a moment Chrom felt overshadowed by Phila’s presence.
The knight captain seemed like she would be quite upset if Chrom had indeed
done something that would taint house Yliss’s reputation. “But that’s not
possible, I’ve never…” Chrom didn’t want to finish the sentance “Wait I don’t
have to justify myself, besides I’m not the only member of house Ylisse here”.
Everyone looked at him with raised eyebrows and Chrom felt even smaller when he
found he was the only male in the meeting. Oh right. It would be hard to hide a
pregnancy. “I’ll just shut up now”. Lucina wasn’t following the conversation
very well but they seemed to be talking about her, and father seemed to be
causing problems because of her. “A-aunty Emm?” Emmeryn was surprised by her
use of aunty “Yes?”. “Um a-are you angry at daddy?” Emmeryn smiled reassuringly
“No Lucina, of course not, why would you think that?” Lucina fidgeted with her
hands for a moment before answering “Daddy said you went to heaven”. The
silence between everyone seemed to extend throughout the castle. They all
understood that euphemism, but Emmeryn never stopped smiling “And why did he
say that exactly?” the young girl twirled her hair “Lucina asked daddy why we
never saw aunty Emm apart from the pictures in the hall and-and daddy said that
you had went to heaven” “When did daddy say that?” Lucina contemplated the
question before raising a finger to answer the question “A month?” she shook
her head “…a year?” Lucina nodded. Everyone exchanged concerned looks, but
Emmeryn continued to be as calm as ever “Did I say something wrong?” the young
girl received a pat on the head “No you’ve done wonderfully. Aunty Emm needs to
talk to daddy about grown up stuff, can you look after Aunty Liss and
baby Morgan for me?” Lucina smiled and nodded enthusiastically. “Lissa if you
could” “Yes sis”. Robin handed Morgan over to Lissa who took Lucina’s hand and
walked out of the room. She gave a wave to everyone just as the door closed and
Emmeryn waved back.
Exalt stood up to silence. Everyone was shocked at this new revelation. Chrom
was the first to speak up “You don’t suppose this is a Plegian ploy do you?
They’re trying to disorientate us, chase a ghost, before they attack?”. Robin
shooke her head “What purpose would it serve to send a girl to us with threats
to the Exalt’s life? We would be better prepared for any attacks now.” Phila
agreed “Indeed, if what the girl is saying is true, then the attacks might be
imminent. I will send word to our patrols, if your grace permits we will also
put ourselves on a war foot-” “No” “But your grace-” “I appreciate that we must
be vigilant, but mobilizing our army will definitely give the Plegians an
excuse to attack”. Robin chimed in “Your grace, at the very least, we should
ready what troops we do have, and we should increase your guard”. Phila
pleaded with Emmeryn “Please your grace, Robin is correct, at the very least we
should prepare for this.” The exalt contemplated the advice given and sighed “I
shall call for my council and we will consider these options. But there’s
something pressing we should address.” “The children…” Robin agreed.“They’re
almost certainly not a Plegian ploy, they’re far too young to be useful as
agents, it was almost like they appeared out of nowhere…”. They all puzzled for
an answer "She says you’re the mother" muttered Chrom. “But
she’s at least 3 years old” replied Phila “And if you’d pardon me, you’ve only
known each other for about a fortnight”. There was a knock on the door that
interrupted the debate “Enter”. Fredrick opened the door and stood to attention
“Your Grace, apologies for the interruption, but the Chancellor has asked me to
remind you of your scheduled meeting. “I guess we’ll have to solve this puzzle
another time. If you’ll excuse me”.
they walked down the corridor looking for Lissa, Chrom expressed his concern to
Robin “You don’t suppose Emmeryn is in imminent danger do you?” “I don’t know.
If it is we’ve at least got warning. I’m sure her grace will be fine” “I hope
so…” there was a brief awkward silence between them, before Chrom blurted out
“What if we do get married? That would be horrible to have our fate dictated to
us by a child.” Robin’s eyebrow twitched “So marrying me is a horrible idea is
it?” Chrom clueless as ever simply continued “I mean it would be! To marry a
complete stranger who knows nothing about you or themselves… er Robin is
something wron-” an open palm to the face answered his question quite loudly.
“YOU’RE AN UNBELIEVABLE IDIOT!”. Robin red faced, stormed off, leaving Chrom
Evening had set in. Emmeryn has come to a decision to
seek Feroxi’s aid in case Plegia does declare war on Ylisse. Chrom was to be
the envoy with the Shepards as an escort. Everyone was busy preparing to head
out by dawn, soldiers hurried about checking supplies, weapons, and animals for
the journey north. Lucina saw all of this outside the window and was excited as
well, she had overheard the plans to head north. She had never been to Feroxi
and wanted to join mother and father. She packed all the essentials, a jumper,
a scalf, and the new plush pegasus Emmeryn gave her. Lucina was happy
everything was in order and rushed to join the rest of the Shepards in
preparation. As she opened the door she ran into someone’s leg and as she
looked up, a frowning face greeted her. “And what do you think you’re
doing young lady?” Lucina twiddled her fingers as she tried to answer her mother “Um-um
I um…"Robin looked her daughter over and saw the back pack. "Oh no.
Nonono” she picked Lucina up by the waist and walked over to the bed. “Mommyyyy”
Lucina whined. “No!” Robin plonks her on the bed gently “I am
not letting you follow us and risking you getting hurt, you hear me?” she
was trying her best motherly telling off “But Luci wants to go see the
north” “Lucina, you’re still young, you have a lot to learn and
you’ll have your chance to visit Ferroxi but you have to be patient.” “But-”
“Nope you’re staying. That’s final”. Lucina wobbled her lip preparing
to cry but Robin wasn’t going to have it. “Oh no don’t you dare.”
Robin sighed. She sat next to Lucina and patted her on the head “Lucina,
please, if you love mommy, please listen when I ask you to stay” Lucina
hesitated but nodded in the end “Good”. Her mother smiled and kissed her on the
forehead. “It’s getting late sweetheart, so go to bed”
“Alright”. Lucina changed into her pyjamas and prepared to go to bed.
Robin tucked her in to bed “Aunty Emm will look after you when we’re away.
What say we go shopping when I get back?” Luci nodded enthusiastically
“Good night” “Good night mommy”. When Robin closed the door
behind her, she gave out a heavy sigh “Being a parent is hard.”
It had been just over 2 days of travel when the Shepards
noticed the weather beginning to change. They had begun setting up camp and
Robin was taking stock of the food when Sully walked in with another barrel.
“Ah, thanks for your hard work Sully” “Hey, just part of the
excercise regime” she said flexing jokingly. Robin giggled “Careful,
where you point those”. “Heh, don’t worry the barrels are the only
ones who need to worry” she looked at the barrel she just brought in
“Hmm the lid on this one’s loose-” “ACHOO!” The two women
stared at the barrel. Sully raised her eyebrow “Did… did that barrel
just sneeze?” The realization hit Robin like someone had casted Thoron on
her “Oh Gods, you can’t be serious-” she flung the lid open and sure
enough, a small child was crouched in the barrel halfway through eating an
apple. The young girl smiled sheepishly “Hello mommy”
Robin reached in and picked up Lucina by her
backpack "You are an impossible
child!!!“. Lucina continued to smile hoping to calm her clearly upset
mother. "Have to say she’s very tenacious” smiled Sully. Mother on
the other hand wasn’t amused, so Lucina looks at her half eaten apple and
offered that to her. There was a slight crack in Robin’s angry armour and she
pinched her nose to hide her almost smile. No Robin you have to be serious
here, she thought to herself. “You’re in serious trouble young lady” she
took a deep breath and placed her on the ground. “Do you have any idea how
dangerous it is, what would you do if you were hurt? We’d be so worried.”
Lucina’s smile faded and she looked at her feet while fidgeting uncomfortably.
“Mommy and daddy are always fighting bad people. Lucina just wanted to
help.” Robin’s face heard this and a feeling of sadness gripped her. The
poor girl wanted to stop whatever she went through from happening again. She
got a little teary eyed when she hugged Lucina “Lucina, you’re brave and
mommy is happy you want to help, but right now you’re far too young and I don’t
know what I’d do if you got hurt”. Robin wiped away a tear when she let go
of Lucina “Please don’t cry mommy, Lucina’s sorry”. This only made
Robin cry a little more “You’re such a sweet child”. She kisses her
on the forehead “Robin, if you want I can look after young Lucina while
you finish setting up camp.” “Thank you Sully” she muttered as
she wiped her face with her sleeve. “I need to talk to Chrom about what to
do anyway”. The tactician stood up “Lucina go with aunty Sully-”
“Hey! I’m not THAT old” Robin smirked at the comment “AUNT Sully
will look after you” Sully was quite annoyed. “Yes mommy”. Robin
smiled and headed off to look for Chrom. Sully patted Lucina on the head
“So ya wanna protect mom and dad right?” the girl nodded
“Alright then, aunt Sully will help you get stronger” Lucina’s face
lit up with enthusiasm “Good, first we gotta train those muscles, so let’s
go carry stuff into the tents "Yes aunt Sully”.
The knight sighed to herself “Great now I’m doing
After Chrom’s initial frustration, he agreed with Robin’s
assessment that Lucina would actually be safer if she was with the larger
group. Sending her off with someone to take her back wouldn’t sufficiently
protect her. Still the young girl’s presence seemed to boost everyone’s morale
as she helped around the camp in her own sweet way. It was soon quite late in
the evening and those not on night watch went to bed. It was cold and Lucina
hadn’t brought sufficiently warm clothes, so Robin took her into her tent and
wrapped some scarves under her clothes. “I wish you would have at least
brought more clothes Lucina” Robin was genuinely worried about the girl
catching a cold. Lucina looked around the tent as her mother dressed her.
“Mommy, where’s daddy?” “Daddy’s sleeping in his own tent right
now”. Lucina looked confused “Mommy isn’t sleeping with daddy?”
Robin’s face began to go bright red “Wha-what?” Oh right Robin is
supposed to be married to him “Um w-well, daddy just wants alone
time” Lucina still didn’t understand “But mommy always sleep with
daddy” Robin didn’t know how to respond “I um- well Lucina is
sleeping with mommy so daddy can’t sleep with mommy when you’re here.”
“Oh” the answer seemed to satisfy the child’s question until Lucina
started again “Mommy can bring more sheets to make the bed bigger ”
she saw her mother become more flustered at her persistance “Really we
shouldn’t bother daddy”. Lucina held Robin’s hand and pulled her towards
the exit. “Pleeeeeaaaase” “Lucina wait-” just as she said
that, Chrom walked in. “Daddyyyy” the child ran over to her father
and hugged his leg. “Hello Lucina aren’t you supposed to be in bed?”
“Lucina wants to go to sleep with daddy” Chrom failed to notice Robin
flailing her arms telling him no. “Of course!” Lucina smiled
“Yay! Mommy! We can sleep in the
same bed with daddy”. Robin almost made an audible smack when her palm met
her face. Chrom began to stutter as he glanced between Robin and Lucina
“W-well I-I thought you just-”. The young girl began pulling her
father further in to the tent.
There was no escape from this it seemed, Robin leaned
over to Chrom “We can wait till she falls asleep” he nodded
“Good idea”. They eventually settled in under the sheets with Lucina
in the middle of the pack. Lucina hugged her mother “Can mommy sing a
song?” “Um-well let me think”. She looked to Chrom for help and
he thought for a second before he began to hum
a simple tune. Robin joined in and petted Lucina on the head to
encourage her to go to sleep. Young Lucina eventually drifted to sleep,
snuggling right up to Robin. She smiled to Chrom, “Aww look at her”.
But Chrom’s only response was light snoring as he himself had fallen asleep.
Robin giggled quietly as she stared at the sleeping prince “You are
unbelievable”. She blushed when she found herself staring at Chrom’s
peaceful face for too long.
She closed her eyes to sleep smiling softly “Idiot”
It was morning and Chrom began to stir from
his slumber. He felt Lucina had rolled over to his side and he hugged her and
smiled. It wasn’t so bad having a daughter. It felt strange though, she seemed
taller somehow. “Mommy! Daddy! Uncle Freddie made breakfast!” Chrom
looked at her daughter who was standing at the tent’s opening. He slowly turned
his gaze to who he was actually hugging. Robin’s eyes opened and she thought it
strange that Lucina managed to hug her over the shoulders being so small. Their
realization of what was happening was highlighted by their screams of shock.
When they arrived in the Feroxi capital,
Robin was still in a foul mood from what she saw as Chrom taking advantage of
her. Chrom was apologetic but Robin wouldn’t listen and their bickering carried
over to when they were preparing to fight in the tournament. Robin was taking
Lucina to the audience stand as the young girl insisted on watching mother
fight. “Mommy? Are you angry with daddy?” Lucina perceptive as ever
was worried. Robin smiled “Daddy and mommy are just disagreeing on something”.
When they arrived at Lucina’s seat next to Flavia, Lucina hugged Robin’s leg
“Please don’t be angry at daddy, daddy will be sad if mommy is angry at
him”. Robin grinned. How did she end up with this angel? She kissed Lucina
on the head. “Cheer for mommy and daddy alright?” “Yes!”
Lucina watched from the sidelines as the two
teams fought for their respective Khans. She was watching her father in
particular as he was in an extremely intense one on one dual. The warrior
seemed to match Chrom’s moves swing for swing. The young girl watched intently
and gasped as Chrom’s opponent gained the upper hand and was about to swing a
finishing blow. “FATHER!!!”. Somehow the masked blue haired warrior
heard Lucina and he seemed to be staring right at the young girl. Lucina felt
strange when their eyes seemingly met. Robin knocked back her opponent and
spotted Chrom in trouble, where she then swiftly cast a fireball knocking the
distracted warrior back several feet.
Chrom heard his opponent mutter something as
he lay there defeated “That’s… impossible…”
The Shepards celebrated their success at Flavia’s victory
banquet. Robin had a few too many drinks and had to be escorted to her room by
Chrom. She was still jovial from all the merry-making and had more or less
forgot about what happened earlier in the morning. “You know for a
tactician you didn’t plan this drinking session very well” “I’m still
standing aren’t I” a hiccup punctuated her sentence. “Honestly you’re
such a light weight” “Feroxi liquor is strong!” “You had a
pint of beer” Robin scowled drunkenly at Chrom for answering back. Her
escort sighed “What would Lucina think if she saw you in this state”
Robin scowled harder “I think she’ll think why daddy almost got beaten by
someone smaller than him” she stuck her tongue out to add insult to injury
“Hey! Marth was very skilled. His moves matched mine like a mirror, and
that sword. It-” his thought was interrupted when the way to their room
was preceded by a long flight of stairs. “Ah” “Oooh what now,
defeated by a stairs as well now?” Chrom’s eye twitched at the comment
“I’ll show you who’s defeated!”. He placed one arm on Robin’s
shoulder and another behind her legs and with a mighty yell swept her off her
feet. He then quickly scaled the staircase taking two steps at a time and soon
enough found himself at the top. “So.” he huffed from the exertion
“how- was- that?”. He suddenly noticed Robin was gripping his shirt
quite tightly. “Um Robin?” she seemed startled and looked at Chrom,
her cheeks and ears seemingly redder than usual. “C-Chrom?” he began
to blush as well now. “Y-yea?”. Her hand clenched Chrom’s shirt
tighter. “A-are you going to put me down now or do you plan on carrying me
to my room?” “Maybe” blurted Chrom. It suddenly got really
awkward. “Maybe I should put you down that is.” Robin wrapped her
arms around him “What if I don’t let you?” they stared at each other
for a moment as he then let her pull his face closer to hers.
“Chrooooom! Have you seen Lucina?” He let her go abruptly and Robin
landed on her rear.
Little Lucina was searching the halls. She swore she saw
that masked warrior just a minute ago. She didn’t know why but she felt drawn
to him, like they were connected somehow. “You shouldn’t be here”
Lucina almost jumped out of her skin and turned to face the source of the
voice. Sure enough Marth stood almost statuesque before her. The small child
looked like she was about to scream “Nono please I’m not here to hurt
you” “But you fought daddy” “I would never hurt him. Trust
me” Lucina cocked her sideways inquisitively. She believed him. “I
just wanted to make sure it was really you Lucina”. The girl blinked at
her a few times “You know my name?” “Of course, I know you very
well. But this… you’re not supposed to be here”. Lucina seemed confused
when she repeated the phrase and it seemed Marth found himself stuck on how to
explain the situation. “Look, I just want to make sure that you’ll keep
yourself safe.” “Are bad people coming to the palace again?”
“A-again?!” this seemed to be news to him. He hesitated before
placing his hand on Lucina’s head “I’ll be watching over you if they
do”. Suddenly he hugged her “Give my love to mother and father”.
As Marth stood up, footsteps could be heard from behind Lucina, and as the
little girl turned to see who it was, the strange man seemed to have
disappeared into the shadows.
“There you are! Naga we were so worried!”
It came time for the group to finally return to Ylisse
again. The trip was uneventful but Lucina was still pondering about what that
strange man was trying to say. Mother and father seemed to be in a world of
their own as well, barely making conversation or indeed eye contact with each
other. When they finally arrived at the castle Emmeryn was in the great hall to
receive them “Welcome home Chrom. I hear your mission had been a
success”. “Indeed sister, we have secured an alliance with Ferox. We
should be ready in case Plegia escalates the situation.” Emmeryn gave a
heavy sigh “I’m afraid it already has”. Emmeryn revealed how Maribelle
had been taken prisoner by the Plegians and had threatened to execute her. The
Shepards were soon on the move again but this time Lucina was definitely
staying behind. She spent the next two days helping look after little Morgan,
who seemed quite happy with the wet nurse provided. The castle also seemed to
be busier than usual; there were more soldiers wandering the grounds, the forge
seemed to be working throughout the night. It only seemed to get busier when
Emmeryn and the Shepards returned. Lucina remembered this happening before. She
wondered whether this was what Marth was warning about.
It was supposed to be bed time for Lucina but she
couldn’t quite sleep, still not able to figure out what will happen next.
Mother and father were out in the yard somewhere so she snuck out of her room
to find them. Lucina wandered down the halls and found her way to Emmeryn’s
room. Maybe aunty Emm knew where mother and father were. The two soldiers
guarding the room smiled at Lucina as she asked permission to enter. The men
obliged saluting jokingly as she entered the room. Emmeryn was sat at her desk
looking dour as she stared at the orders she had written to recruit more troops
to defend the realm. “Aunty Emm?”. The Exalt seemed to be caught off
guard, but quickly smiled when she realized it was Lucina. “What’s wrong
dear? Can’t sleep?”. Lucina nodded and Emmeryn extended her hand
“Come. Tell aunty what’s wrong?’. She obliged and hurried over to Emmeryn
who then picked her up and sat Lucina on her lap. "So what’s troubling
you?” “Luci met a man in Ferox” “Oh and what’s strange
about this man?” Lucina thought for a moment on how to answer “He
thinks bad people are coming here” Emmeryn smiled “And you’re
worried?” Lucina nodded “Lucina we are people who are in a position
where bad people will always try to hurt us. But it doesn’t mean we should live
in fear. Fear causes us to do rash things, which can makes things worse. It may
hurt the ones we love, or the ones we try to protect. Don’t let fear control
you or you may end up being as bad as the people who try to hurt you. You
see?” Lucina nodded again “Good… do you want to stay for a while
longer?” “Yes!” “Alright then why don’t we read-”.
Emmeryn was interrupted by the sound of clashing metal outside. “Lucina,
could you wait here?” the young girl did as she was told and stood by the
desk. Emmeryn could hear the fighting get closer as she walked slowly towards
the nearest window to see what’ going.
Suddenly the window caves in and an assassin lands right
in front of Emmeryn. She managed to dodge several slashes trying to lure her
towards the door “Guards!” Fighting then erupted from behind the door
as well and she could hear the two soldiers crying out for reinforcements.
Emmeryn couldn’t dodge forever and sure enough she tripped and fell backwards.
The assassin stood over her and raised his sword but flinched and yelled in
pain. Emmeryn saw Lucina had bitten into the assassin’s leg. “LUCINA GET
BACK!”. The girl was too slow and the assassin kicked poor Lucina away
from him. Emmeryn threw a vase at him, striking the man across the head, but
all this did was annoy him and he cornered the Exalt to deliver the final blow.
Emmeryn felt something warm splatter across her cheeks as she opens her eyes to
see the would be assassin impaled on Falchion.
“Her Grace said no”. The blade ripped from his
body and he collapsed dead. Emmeryn’s moment of shock quickly turned to panic
as she looked over to Lucina who was lyingon the ground, a small trickle of
blood dripping onto the carpet.
“LUCINAAA!!!!!!” the Exalt’s saviour spun
around to where Emmeryn was looking “SIS!!!!!!!!”
They ran over to the girl’s still frame.
Robin, Chrom and Lissa had fought their way
to Emmeryn’s room and the tactician was the first to enter. “Your Grace,
are you al-” she saw Emmeryn and Marth crouched over her daughter, her
grace holding a glowing staff over Lucina, the implications . “No…”
she dropped her sword “LUCINA!!!!!!!” her scream was deafening as she
dashed to her daughter’s side. “Marth” had looked up and she was
sobbing uncontrollably whilst holding Lucina’s hand. Robin stroked the side of
Lucina’s face, the girl’s breathing was shallow, and there was a large cut
across her head “Honey please wake up. Please. Mommy’s here now
everything’s going to be alright. So please…” the girl wasn’t
responding. Tears were streaming down Emmeryn’s face as she fought hard to
close Lucina’s gaping wound. Lissa arrived by the girl’s side and helped her
older sister’s resuscitation attempt. Chrom placed a hand on Robin’s shoulder
“We have a fight to finish, let Lissa and Emmeryn-”. She slapped away
Chrom’s hand her sorrow turned to anger. “Where is their
leader?” she was seething with rage. “Down near the entrance
but-” She dashed out of the room grabbing her sword as she went, not
waiting for anyone else. “ROBIN WAIT!” she was already gone by the
time Chrom arrived at the hallway. “Damnit!” Chrom looked back to
where Lucina was “Please Gods, don’t let her die. Marth! Come on we have
to help Robin.” The young woman was still in a daze until Emmeryn
whispered to her “It’s alright, we’ll save her. I promise. You need to
save your mother from herself.” Her eyes widened and she stared at the
Exalt. “How did-” “It doesn’t matter just go”
She gave one last look at Lucina before she
stood up and joined Chrom to look for her mother.
As they ran down the hall they simply
followed the trail of dead assassins that Robin left in her wake. They arrived
to a scene where Robin fought ferociously against three assassins protecting
their master. The tactician was brutal. Chrom and Morgan could see no thought
or planning in Robin’s movement, it was just wild instinct to kill those before
her. One of the remaining assassin’s landed a blow but Robin shrugged it off
before cleaving the man in half. With only the leader left she lunged head on
towards him. The man simply evaded all of Robin’s wild flailing before stunning
her with lightning magic disarming her of her sword. The pair jumped in to help
as the leader moved to cast a spell. It turned out she didn’t need it. Robin
was only temporarily incapacitated and she quickly lunged up and pierced the
man’s chest when she cast Thoron point blank. Whatever was being cast stopped
when Robin wrenched her hand deeper causing her victim to cough up blood. He
slumped to his knees when Robin pulled her arm out. He managed to mutter three
last words “This… isn’t… how…” before his lifeless body
collapses to the ground. Robin picked up the sword she dropped and raised her
sword to decapitate him.
“STOP!” Morgan had wrapped her arms
under Robin’s. “GET OFF! I’M GOING TO KILL THIS DASTARD!” “HE’S
ALREADY DEAD! PLEASE! THIS ISN’T YOU!” “AND HOW WOULD YOU KNOW!”
“BECAUSE I’M YOUR DAUGHTER!” Robin froze “What…” “I’m
your daughter… Morgan” as she said that her hands slid down to hug
She was crying “Mom… Please you’re
Robin gritted her teeth and pushed Morgan
away from her. “Don’t toy with me! Morgan is a baby, she’s with Sumia as
we speak. And you expect me to believe you and her are the same?!” Morgan
was saddened by the accusation but she understood that Robin has been through a
lot. So she showed her the one thing that proves she is at least of House
Ylisse. Removing her scarf she unbuttoned her tunic and slid the back down,
just low enough for the Brand of the Exalt to be seen. It was on the left
shoulder blade, exactly where baby Morgan’s was. Robin shook her head and tried
to step away but the adrenaline that fueled her frenzy had left her body and
she almost collapsed before Chrom caught her. Morgan buttoned up in a rush
“Mother!” Chrom raised his hand to stop Morgan “F-father
I-” “Please. I think she needs time… I need time… this is a lot
for all of us to take in” “Chrom” “Yes Robin?” she closed
her eyes. “Take me to Lucina” Chrom lifted her up and carried her
like he did back in Ferox.
They were nearing Emmeryn’s room which was
now heavily guarded. Lissa came rushing out and looked down both sides of the
corridor before looking back to his brother walking towards her. “Chrom!
Robin! Quick!” Chrom planted Robin on her feet. She staggered a little but
Chrom let her lean on him. “We should get you a healer”. They walked
in and Lissa smiled at them “She’s awake but she needs more rest to fully
recover” Robin almost collapsed on hearing the news. She was smiling and
crying from relief. Chrom grinned and hugged Robin “Thank the gods she’s
alright”. Robin had no words she just nodded. She walked over to her
bedridden daughter, Emmeryn was by her side. She smiled as the pair approached “Look
Luci, mommy and daddy are here” Lucina half opened her eyes and managed a
smile. “Mommy?” “Oh my poor little girl” she picked up her
hand and kissed it repeatedly. “You had me so worried” “I’m
sorry” Robin shook her head “Nonono you have nothing to be sorry
about, you were very brave. Everything will be alright” Chrom’s larger
hand clasped Robin’s and Lucina’s hand together. “You make us proud Luci.
We love you, so get well soon” the little girl nodded faintly.
“Where’s… Morgan?” Lucina rasped “She’s with aunty Sumia, when
you wake up tomorrow we’ll bring her to see you alright?” “Alright
mommy” “Good” Robin wiped away the tears on her cheeks and
kissed her daughter on the head. “I’ll be right back, mommy just needs to
sort a few things”. Chrom chimed in “Don’t worry, daddy will be
here” Lucina nodded and closed her eyes to rest. Robin sees Morgan
standing by the door as she got up to leave. She looked to be the opposite of
the cool collected warrior Robin first met. “Morgan…” the young
woman fidgeted a bit avoiding her mother’s gaze. “I… I’m sorry about
before. I didn’t mean to-” Robin hugged her daughter “No. Thank you.
You brought me back from the edge”. Morgan was overwhelmed with relief and
joy that Robin accepted her.
She hugged her back and whispered “Mom…”
When Robin and Morgan parted ways, Phila flanked by two
pegasus knights, blocked her path outside of Robin’s view. “Pardon my
rudeness milady but Her Grace has asked me to offer you a room” For some
reason the young woman felt uneasy looking at the captain and her entourage.
“I really shouldn’t. I’ve gone beyond what I planned to do here”
Phila stepped closer to Morgan who’s grip began to tighten around her scabbard.
The knight captain leaned and whispered “Morgan, Her Grace will be holding
a war council tomorrow. The events of tonight are no doubt a Plegian plot. You
seem to know a great deal about events that have yet to happen including this
one. So either you are a Plegian agent or there is something else that you
haven’t disclosed. Even if you are of the Exalt’s bloodline, as knight captain
and protector of her Grace, if you know something that will help defend her and
the realm I intend to get it.” She straightened up again no longer
whispering “So again I invite you on behalf of the Exalt. Will you
stay?” Morgan wasn’t sure but she didn’t seem to have a choice in the
“Alright. I accept”
Robin had finally taken the time to look after herself,
taking a vulnerary for the stab wound she received earlier, and cleaning off
all the blood she’s accumulated in her rampage. She returned to the Exalt’s
room and bumped into Lissa as she began to leave the room. “Ah,
Robin” she looked her over and smiled “You look much better than you
did earlier” Robin rubbed the back of her head “Yea. I’m sorry about
that.” “It’s alright, I understand a mother’s rage is quite the thing
to behold.” “I… I still should have controlled myself better…
a-anyway thank you for saving Lucina” “Hey an aunty is pretty
powerful too, and I’ll fight with everything I have to save little Luci.”
she looked back into the room “She’s a special part of us now”
“It feels right” Robin agreed “Anywayyyyy I’ll be taking that
bath, I’ll be back once I get a bit of rest. Emm’s still inside so don’t worry”
Robin nodded and waved goodbye as Lissa walked down the hallway.
She saw Chrom was still keeping vigil over their
daughter. Robin sat beside him “She’s fast asleep” Chrom nodded
“She seems so peaceful, considering what’s happened, I’m glad she’s able
to rest” Robin rested her head on Chrom’s shoulder “Let’s make her a
special breakfast tomorrow. Something really tasty” Chrom chuckled
“We should have a picnic when she gets better as well. Take her into the
city and go shopping. She’ll love that” the tactician giggled “I can
picture her waking up tomorrow all giddy when she sees us here” Robin was
getting slightly misty eyed “Chrom?” “Yeah?” Her arm snaked
around Chrom’s arm and she clasped his hand. “I want to keep her safe. I
want to keep Morgan safe. I don’t want either of them to be afraid anymore. I
want all of us to never ever have to go through with watching our loved ones
get hurt.” Chrom’s fingers intertwined with hers “I promise you, I’ll
do everything I can to make sure we’re safe.” Robin straightened up and
looked at Chrom “I’ll be there with you every step of the way.” Chrom
looked down to her and smiled “Every step?” “I’ll be the wind at
your back and the sword by your side” They gazed at each other and leaned
closer. “I suppose I can arrange the wedding for you two when this crisis
is over” Emmeryn smiled from across the bed. The pair untangled themselves
from each other and sat stiffly clearly embarrassed when they realized Emmeryn had been there all along.
Morgan didn’t expect to fall asleep so easily. It had
been so long since she slept in an actual bed, the comfiness of it took her by
surprise. When she woke up she didn’t really want to get out of bed, she just
sprawled around like a cat before finally rolling to the edge and sat up. She
looked around the room and saw some folded clothes on the desk. When she walked
over she saw there were two sets. One of them were the ones she arrived in,
cleaned and smelling slightly fragrant. The other was a dress, something she
had never worn before as an adult. She began to wonder what she would look like
and placed it in front of her as she stood before the mirror. Morgan for the
first time felt like she was living a semblance of normalcy. It had to come to
an end however as she realized she still had much to do. She geared up, Falchion
by her side, and headed outside where she was greeted by Phila. They head down
to meet Emmeryn. When they arrived at the conference room, all the Shepards
were seated with Emmeryn at the head of the table. Morgan felt like she was on
trial as she sat at the opposite end of the table as the meeting began.
“First of all, thank you for what you’ve done for us. You’ve saved my life
and many others.” Morgan bowed her head “I… I only did what was
right your Grace” Emmeryn’s smile widened “It’s ok Morgan, I don’t
mind you calling me aunty” the young woman fidgeted nervously, as the room
erupted in surprised whispers. “I-I d-didn’t want to assume…”
“Don’t worry. You can speak freely here. As a matter of fact I was hoping
you could help us understand what has been happening over the last few
weeks.” “I… I don’t know where to start”
“It’s alright. Take your time. Just start from the
Morgan could remember it like it was yesterday. The sound
of battle. Men and women screaming, metal against metal. Metal against flesh.
The stench of rot and blood hanging in the air as she fought a mass of undead.
She carved away the wave of Risen but they kept coming, trying to break through
to the portal the young royal was so desperate to defend. One after another they
fell but eventually even with all her skill, her sword would be her downfall as
it finally shatters under the weight of the onslaught. Morgan’s shock at her
weapon breaking was followed by a sharp pain as the undead swordsman in front
of her kicks her in the stomach sending her back several meters. He herd
swarmed to finish her off “ARC FIRE!!!” flames burst through air and
the mass of undead soon turned to ashes as the magic incinerated their corrupt
bodies. Morgan looked at the caster and saw the figure donning the familiar
looking great coat, bloodied from the battle. The figure then fell on one knee
from exhaustion. “SIS!” Morgan rushed over to Lucina’s side, and when
she got closer she could see the gaping wound along the tactician’s abdomen.
“Oh gods no! Sis!” She heaved her older sister from the ground
“We have to get through to the portal now! Everyone else has made it
through, so we have to-” Lucina’s hand clasped Morgan’s shoulder gently
“I… I’m not going” Morgan gritted her teeth dragging her sister
towards the portal. “Don’t be insane! We can get you healed on the other
side! You’ll make it!” the tactician shook her head “It won’t close
before the rest of the Risen arrive. If I hold them off-” Morgan was
beginning to yell “NO! I’M NOT LETTING YOU DIE HERE! WE’RE GOING BACK
TOGETHER! WE’RE GOING TO SAVE OUR MOM AND DAD! WE’RE GOING TO SAVE AUNT LISSA!
WE’RE GOING TO SAVE AUNT EMMERYN! WE’LL SAVE OUR FUTURE TOGETHER! SO YOU’RE
GOING WITH ME WHETHER YOU L-” she suddenly found herself slammed against
the ground, Lucina staring straight down at her, as she shoved Falchion into
her hands “Keep it safe and it’ll keep you safe” Morgan was tearing
up “Don’t-” but before she could regain her composure, Lucina had
already lifted her up and flung the younger sister through the portal.Lucina
smiled to herself “Challenge our fate”. She turned towards the flood
of undead now racing towards her and pulled out her remaining tomes.
Morgan was wiping tears from her eyes desperately trying
to stop herself from sobbing “I couldn’t save her. I couldn’t save my own
sister” she didn’t realise how much she was holding back until now.
“Falchion is the only thing I have left of her. Of my family. Lucina.
She-” Morgan only noticed Chrom had walked over to where she had sat when he knelt down and
hugged her. “I’m sorry. Both of you deserved better from me than one sword
and a world of troubles” Morgan’s voice cracked as she hugged him back
“Father…”. Robin joined Chrom and kissed Morgan on the head.
“There, there let it all out.” The room had fallen silent, all except
Morgan who cried into her Father’s shoulder, as everyone looked on. A few of
the Shepards were also tearing up but refrained from saying anything more. Once
Morgan finally regained her composure, she cleared her face with a handkerchief
Robin offered her. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to break down like
that.” Chrom shook his head “You’ve been through a lot. You don’t
need to apologize to us”. Morgan nodded.
“Are you able to continue?”
Robin and Chrom smiled and returned to their seats.
“I’m guessing you’ve all gathered that from what I’ve said that I am Chrom
and Robin’s child from the future. My goal wasn’t simply to save aunt Emmeryn,
her death would lead to the return of a great threat. The Risen that have begun
infesting this land are the servants of the Fell Dragon. Grima.” The room
erupted with concerned chatter, Robin looked to the prince “Who’s
Grima?” Emmeryn raised her hand and everyone quietened down once more.
“How did he return exactly?” “When you died… Chro- my father
was injured during the assassination and events conspired to eventually lead to
his death. And when he died Grima returned” She looked around the room.
“Everyone here would perish. There were so few of us remaining in the
future, but we fought Grima’s army as best as we could. We finally managed to
summon Naga. She created a ritual that would send us back in time to change our
future. But-” “But things aren’t the same” Morgan nodded at her
mother’s remark “The younger versions of me… and my sister. They’re not
really me… I mean she’s identical to me in every way but I never returned to
this point as a child. Everything else about this time is correct, but they’re
not supposed to be here so-” “So that means they’re probably from a
different timeline” “Or that I’m from a different timeline…”
everything went quiet for a moment. “She still recognizes both of you as
father and mother though” Emmeryn sighed “I guess that means the timeline
the three of you are from are the same. And I suppose your introduction to this
past has steered us towards a similarroute.” Morgan clenched her fists
“I won’t let that happen. Lucina. Sis trusted me to save us from our
doomed future. Even if this is not my past, I will not allow it to follow the
same path my future took. I will not let my sister’s sacrifice be in vain. As
long as I still stand.” She rose from her seat with a renewed sense of
“I will save all possible futures!”
Emmeryn rose from her seat and smiled. “You do not
have to do this alone.” Chrom followed her sister and stood from his seat
“We’re all here for you”. “You’re our future Morgan.” Robin
had followed suit as well “We can’t let you take on all the burden”.
One by one the Shepards stood up and raised their voices in support. Morgan
smiled and bowed to everyone present.
The sun had already begun to set. The council had lasted
for many hours but it was finally decided that Emmeryn would relocate to the
summer palace for safety. Everyone seemed to be on edge as they prepared an
escort for her grace. Morgan hoped they’ve all come to the right decision. What
if she was wrong? No. She can change the past. It already has changed.
As she wandered the halls deep in thought she felt
something bumped into her knee. “Ah. Who…” and knocked onto her
bottom was her “older” sister: Lucina. “Oh gods, sis I’m so
sorry! You’re not hurt are you?” She called her sister without realizing
it. Lucina shook her head “Are you sure? You only just recovered from your
injury so…” all Morgan received as a reply was a long confused stare.
Morgan picked Lucina up onto her feet “Um. Is
something else the matter?” “Who are you?” "Eh?“ Morgan scratched her head
"Um you don’t recognize me?” Lucina shook her head. Morgan pondered
for a moment before getting an idea “How about this?” she placed her
hands in front of her face making slats over the eyes. “Ah” Lucina
frowned and pointed accusingly at Morgan “Bad guy!” There was slight
indignation from Morgan “I’m not a bad guy!” she pouted.
“It’s true. She’s not a bad guy” Robin had
turned up carrying a set of blankets. “Mommy!” Lucina ran over to the
tactician and hugged her leg. Lucina felt her mother’s hand ruffle her hair
before exclaiming “But she had a fight with daddy”. Robin knelt down
to Lucina’s height “That was a tournament she would never have hurt your
father. She’s actually Morgan.” Lucina was understandably confused and
frowned “But Morgan is a baby” she whined. “Ah yes, but this
Morgan is from the future” Morgan knelt down closer and teased Lucina
“Come on sis, surely you recognize your own little sister right?”
Lucina stared at her supposed sister for a moment and
circled round to her back “Um, sis what are you-” Morgan felt a
sudden tug at her scarf as Lucina tried to remove her “little”
sisters clothes “Gah! Sis not here! We’re in the corridor” she felt
her cheeks flush as Lucina ignored her complaints and continued to try and tug
away at her clothes. Robin giggled at how forward Lucina was. “Fine!
Fine!” Morgan unbuttoned her clothes and slid it down to reveal the Mark
of the Exalt. “That what you’re looking for?” Lucina stared at it for
a moment “ Happy no-EEEK!” Lucina had started scratch the Mark to see
if it wasn’t painted “Ah no! Lucina stop! Ah!” Morgan tried to reach
back and stop her “older” sister, Robin on the other hand was
laughing out loudly at her daughter’s onslaught.
The scratching sensation stopped and Lucina continued to
stare in disbelief. Morgan buttoned up once more still beet red from the
ordeal. “Gods, that was embarassing”. “I don’t understand”
Morgan turned round and saw Lucina filled with guilt. “That’s
alright” Morgan smiled reassuringly “I don’t quite believe it myself
sometimes. But I really am from the future. And I really am Morgan” Lucina
looked up at Morgan “Why did you fight daddy?” Morgan gave a soft
sigh “Because… because I never sparred with father in the future. I
didn’t get the chance to. I was never going to hurt him. I’m sorry I worried
Lucina frowned “But you did” “Well it was
only scratch” Lucina pouted a little “You should apologize”
Morgan smiled awkwardly at Lucina’s persistence before Robin intervened.
“Daddy’s not angry with Morgan. So it’s not a problem.” “It was
naughty.” Morgan and Robin gave in “Alright alright, I’ll accept your
punishment.” Lucina nodded and picked up the stack of clothes Robin had
been carrying and handed it to her future younger sister “Help mommy with
chores” Morgan and Robin smiled to each other “She’s a very bossy big
sister” quipped Robin. Morgan nodded and turned to Lucina.
“Um sis can I ask you a favour?”
“Yes?” Morgan hesitated a little, it was a silly request but it was
something she really wanted. “Could… could you call me sister?”
Lucina was still a little pouty but relented. She got on her tiptoes and patted
Morgan on the head “Little sis”. Morgan fought back the wave of
emotions taking over her. Putting the clothes down she hugged Lucina tightly
“Big sis. I missed you so much.” Her big sister hugged her back.

/Thanks for requesting!
Everything was perfect. We kidnapped our enemy that had sent threats to Y/N for weeks now. In the end we found out that it was a robber that also seemed to be a fucking pervert. We tied him to a chair in my torture room and there was a row of my armed henchmen making sure that Y/N was safe as she was allowed to take revenge.
I stood by the door and watched as she stepped into the room. Y/N was wearing a beautiful black dress and her black heels. Her hair was curled and she had her signature make-up look on, red lips and a smokey eye. She was extremely beautiful, it took my breath away.
We had been together for a few weeks now and it had been getting more serious lately. I really liked her and I was excited to see how mad she really was. Y/N was allowed to do whatever she wanted to him, her little torture toy.The man had a tape on his mouth and his eyes were covered with a blindfold, yet it was obvious that he was scared to death. His skin was sweaty and he was trembling a little.
‘’Well who do we have here?’’ She broke the silence and smiled so widely that we could see her pearly white teeth. She walked right in front of the man and tugged the blindfold aside so he could see who would probably kill him. I leaned against the wall and looked at my girl proudly. Suddenly the man yelled and tried to wiggle himself free, but it was useless. It made Y/N laugh at his desperate try to run away. He knew very well that Y/N knew who he was.
‘’You’re not so tough anymore aren’t you?’’ Y/N snicked and walked to the side where she found a table with all kinds of torturing tools, knives, guns, needles, razors and things many couldn’t even name.I watched as the man gulped and tears started to roll down his ugly face as he saw that Y/N tried to choose something. ‘’Oh J you really picked out some good toys’’ She complimented me and looked into my eyes.
A strange feeling took over me as our eyes met. Her E/C ones were so full of joy and a sick twist, but also affection. My heart started to beat harder and I was surprised because I was nearly convinced that I didn’t have one. This feeling was so pure, somehow soft but scary. It came as soon as she looked at me nearly pulling me into this trance.
‘’Well of course doll’’ I smiled and decided not to make things awkward by standing silently there. Y/N got back to work and I was left thinking about this feeling.
I watched as she grabbed a sharp surgeon knife and then walked up to the man. ‘’Time to make you smile one last time’’ She whispered and so blood started to spill..
Y/N had taken care of her business and in the end he bled to death. We walked out of the room and let my men clean up the mess. ‘’That was fun’’ She chirped and then sat down on the kitchen chair in our penthouse. I grabbed two wineglasses and put them on the kitchen island. ‘’I’m proud of you doll’’ I started and then poured red wine into the glasses. My gut told me to spit the words out. But I was nervous.
On the other hand I had already made up my mind. So I handed her a glass and we cheered. ‘’I love you’’ I told her honestly and watched as she nearly dropped her glass in surprise. Her cheeks reddened and she seemed like she didn’t expect those words to leave my mouth. I meant it, I truly did. There was no way I could ignore it anymore. I loved Y/N.
‘’I love you too J’’ Y/N smiled and then put her glass down. Her words made me happy inside. Knowing that she felt the same way about me was just so refreshing and comforting. We were madly in love you could say. I stood up and put my hands on her lower back. She wrapped her arms around my neck and so I leaned closer to kiss her gently.
Her lips felt so good against mine. They were so soft and kissable. She pressed herself closer to me and kissed me deeper. The kiss tasted like wine, but I liked it and it seemed like she did as well. I pulled back and our eyes met. Her pupils were big and she looked hungry. We didn’t have to speak to know what was going to happen.I picked her up so her legs were around my waist and I held her by her bum. ‘’Make love to me’’She whispered into my ear so softly in made my heart flutter.
‘’I will darling..’’ I promised as we got into our bedroom. I shut the door with my leg and then I walked to the big bed. Y/N smiled as I placed her down and climbed above her smaller body. She started to unbutton my button up shirt with her sneaky little fingers. Soon enough it was on the floor and I was shirtless. I touched the hem of her short dress and dragged it up and got it off of her easily. I saw her body clearly as she lied there with only her lacy purple underwear. She seemed so fragile, like something very precious. I couldn’t hurt her.
‘’You’re so beautiful’’ I murmured softly and then pressed a kiss on her jaw. Y/N put her hands on my back and held onto me tightly as I started to kiss a path on her skin down to her boobs. Her skin was so soft. I couldn’t wait to make her feel good, make her feel my love that I thought couldn’t exist - but I was wrong. I pulled back and then slipped my hand under back to unclasp her bra. Thank lord it was strapless. Soon it was on the floor with my shirt and her dress. Y/N smiled at me and it made me happy that she was happy.
So I cupped her boobs softly to make turn her on a little more. A moan escaped her pretty lips as I played with her lovely tits. They were so round and soft, so fun to play with and she loved it. As I used my hands on them, I leaned down and kissed her stomach. Goosebumps appeared on her skin from the sudden touch. I planted kisses all over her until I felt like it was enough - for now.
‘’I’ll be right back’’I promised and then got out of bed. Y/N rolled her finger in her hair and looked at me as I got rid of my pants. My cock was hardening for her ,but I was going to go gentle this time. I wanted to feel her, I wanted us to connect. I grabbed a condom and quickly rolled it on before I joined her back in the bed. She had taken off her undies while I wasn’t looking.
‘’Oh pretty you’ve got a pair of sneaky hands’’ I chuckled and then smiled. ‘’Learned from the best’’ She winked playfully and then licked her lips so sexily.Oh how perfect she was. It’s like she was flawless. My girl..
I positioned myself and then slowly pushed my length inside of her warm and welcoming walls. I looked into her eyes and didn’t dare to break our eye contact. Her lips turned into an ‘o’ shape as I entered her fully and stayed there so she could adjust. She felt fucking amazing around me. She was so soft and tight and wet. ‘’J’’ She breathed out and wrapped her arms my neck. Slowly I started to move, but not fastening the pace. ‘’I love you, I really do’’ I told her softly. Her eyes sparkled from joy and pleasure. ‘’I love you too’’ Y/N whispered and gently bucked her hips against mine.
It was a sign that she wanted more. I started to speed up a little bit and watched as her expression changed whenever I moved. She was so beautiful and the pleasure was so intense. It was a different kind of pleasure. It felt good, but this time I felt it so much closer. Our bodies were so close, we were one. Her hands held onto my shoulders tightly and her E/C eyes were directed into mine. Everything was more intense.
A moan rolled out of her mouth and it drove me crazy. I wanted to make her feel amazing, because she made me feel heavenly. ‘’Do you like that princess?’’ I cooed and hit the same spot inside of her again. She nodded and whimpered a ‘yes’. I kept rolling my hips the same way so she could feel as good as possible.
It felt so good. She took me so well, almost like she was made for me. ‘’mmh doll..’’ I grunted out in pleasure. She smiled as she noticed me being taken by pleasure as well.I brought my hand down and lifted her leg a little so I got a better angle. Suddenly her eyes rolled to the back of her head and a loud moan escaped her plump lips. ‘’Yes J..’’ She cried out happily and encouraged me to keep thrusting from there. It felt so amazing. ‘’I’m close’’ She warned me and then bit her bottom lip hard. So was I.
‘’Look at me baby’’ I demanded with a soft voice. She gathered her strength and looked into my eyes. I leaned down to kiss her as I started to pound in and out of her harder to bring us both to our highs. Her hands held onto my tighter and she dug her nails into my skin, but I didn’t mind. Her marks made me proud. Just to make it better for her, I started to rub her clit with my left hand. She moaned into our kiss.
Then she came. Her walls tightened around me and her muscles tensed. It only pushed me to my own orgasm and I stopped thrusting. She was crying out my name, but my senses dulled out so I barely heard her. Pure pleasure was taking over my body. I filled the condom and whispered out her name as a thrilling feeling shook me.
After gathering myself, I pulled out of her and took off the condom, throwing it in the bin. Our bodies were covered in sweat, giving us the after-sex glow. Y/N lied on the bed and hugged the pillow tightly. She was fucking gorgeous.
‘’You look like an angel’’ I let her know and then snuggled close to her, wrapping my arm around her to keep her right next to me. She nuzzled her face in the crook of my neck and for a moment I felt complete. I had my own angel in my arms.
Kim’s eyes feel funny by the time she pulls them off the freeway. She’s getting antsy in her seat too, a nervous energy that can’t quite be dispelled by drumming on the wheel and tapping her free hand against her leg.
She’s growing a little more anxious by the minute, too, knowing the impending call she’s going to have to make eventually. With this, and what happened with Amanda, she’s pretty sure she won’t see the outside world until she’s fifty.
But she can deal with that later. Right now, she’s got half a tank of gas and the sun is beating down on her through the window and she’s headed to the beach with a girl she met half a day ago.
Prompt: Kai is a single dad and you’re unsure about your future together
Word Count: 1066
Fall in love.
Have a child, a little bundle of joy.
That was the ideal order.
And everything about him was almost perfect.
He was everything you were looking for, and he loved you too. He cared for you. But as amazing as he was, he wasn’t ideal.
He asked you to understand.
“Just one more thing. I know it’s not everything that you had planned but please give her a chance. She’s really sweet.”
So now you were waiting for him at your apartment. He said he had to pick her up from daycare.
“If…If you’re still not sure about it, I won’t…” he took a deep breath, “I won’t force you to do anything you don’t want to. I still love you though, regardless of your choice.”
Three knocks. A pause between the second and the third.
That meant it was Jongin.
Opening the door, you were greeted by him holding a little baby girl in the crook of his arm. She was sleeping. One of her cheeks was squished against her father’s shoulder, her baby fat cushioning her face as she slept. Her tiny hands lay against his chest, fingers delicately curled around the fabric of his shirt.
Jongin pressed a finger to his lips.
You nodded, unable to take your eyes off his daughter. She had the same skin tone as him, and that made you smile, thinking about how proud Jongin said he would be to share his beautiful tanned skin with his children.
You watched as he gently, ever so gently lay her on the couch so her head would rest on your softest pillow. He slowly removed her hands from his shirt and carefully tucked the corners of a nearby blanket around her shoulders.
Jongin pressed his lips against his baby girl’s forehead. She made a soft noise in her sleep.
He straightened up and faced you, eyes averted.
“I didn’t mean for her to fall asleep but…” he trailed off, unable to come up with anything to say.
“What’s her name?”
“Eunmin. Her mother picked it out before she…before she passed away.” Jongin’s eyes were sad.
He had told you about what happened. His wife, Eunmin’s mother died a few minutes after giving birth to her. She had told Jongin not to mourn her for too long. For her sake and for Eunmin’s future.
“I want,” he piped up after a few moments of silence. “I want her to have a mother. A good mother that is caring and sweet and selfless and can love her even though she isn’t her child.” He looked up at you for the first time since he arrived. “For months, I could only ever see you as the best mother for her. I still can only see you as the perfect mother for her now. I’m not trying to say you’re a replacement, a substitute. Please don’t take it that way.”
Jongin took your hands in his, eyes still holding their gaze with yours. “I love you for you, not as some stand-in for her, my wife before. Although I still love her and I miss her, I hope you’ll understand that I love you.”
“Jongin, I-” you broke the eye contact, shifting your attention to the child sleeping soundly on the couch. She was grasping at your heart.
Growing up without a parent…It’s so hard.
Something was stirring, and it wasn’t just out of a moral duty to give this child a motherly figure. Something about Eunmin, this small angel with tiny, invisible wings curled around her, this child resting peacefully in your home.
It left you breathless.
She was like the child you’d wish for, hope for.
You couldn’t say anything.
Eunmin let out a tiny groan as she did a full-body stretch. Her hands clenched into little fists. Legs and arms outstretched, she looked like she was making a snow angel, a star.
She relaxed and opened her eyes. Chocolate colored. A deeper brown than Jongin’s. Something her mother had gifted her along with her nose. She had Jongin’s lips, though slightly thinner.
“Appa?” she called out. Her new surroundings confusing her.
“I’m right here, Appa’s here.”
Eunmin took a few seconds to figure out how to sit up, then she locked eyes with you.
“It’s ok, she’s a nice lady that Appa loves a lot,” Jongin soothed, afraid that Eunmin might not take in everything very well, especially since it was so sudden. But she seemed fine, curious even.
“More than me?” She began to pout.
Jongin let out an amused chuckle. “No, baby, not more than you, but I love her just as much as I love you.”
“Oh.” She looked at her father, clearly thinking really hard. “Then you love her a lot,” she echoed.
You smiled, taken aback by her sweet, small voice and her beautiful mind. “Hello, Eunmin-ah. Did you sleep well?”
She turned her attention back to you and nodded quickly before playing with the blanket around her legs.
“Is Appa happy?” she asked suddenly, quietly, looking up at you and studying your face.
“Uhm…yeah,” she caught you off guard and you replied with a smile. “Yeah, I think he’s happier now.”
“That’s right, Eunmin-ah, she makes me very very happy,” Jongin added, just as flustered as you were.
“So she’s like an eomma.”
The two of you froze. She had officially punched you in the heart with her small delicate fists.
Jongin remained quiet, not wanting to speak for you.
Yes, this wasn’t exactly ideal. Jongin had a child, but was it really his fault that he was a single parent? He loved you, and this precious young child was already willing to call you “eomma” even though she had no judgement of your character other than by word of mouth between you and her father. How desperately would she want and need a mother as she grew up?
How, after everything between you and Jongin, could the simple existence of such an innocent soul be the single deciding factor of spending the rest of your life with this family?
How could such little hands already grasp large pieces of your heart?
“Yes, Eunminnie.” Eunmin began to giggle at the nickname and Jongin whipped his head to the side, staring at you in astonishment. “Yes, I’m like an eomma.”
