Today will most likely be the last cold day we have before heading into spring so what better way to commemorate the end of winter than wearing my double breasted tan overcoat. I don’t get enough chances to wear this so I take every opportunity!
The coat was an eBay find and is from Saks Fifth Avenue - made in England and heavy as anything!
A suit, tie and captoe oxfords is a formal combination. But employing brighter colours can help lighten the look and avoid looking boring or stuffy,
Here I’ve used a two button, notch lapel, single-breasted blue suit (a very versatile piece in a man’s wardrobe) and a light blue end-on-end shirt as a blank canvas for a beautiful lightweight summer tie which I would otherwise struggle to pair with, say, a checked sport coat.
Espresso brogues round off the look, remaining formal but just casual enough to complement the rest of the outfit.
The weather is still chilly so I had a chance to wear these lamb flannel trousers with some Scotchgrain shoes. The collar roll on Kamakura OCBDs is very nice and when I wear a shirt with a buttondown collar, I tend to wear a knit tie as I’ve done here.
