help i have too many ideas

My favorite things in a fanfiction

• When one sits on the others lap for any non-sexual reason.
• One of them is cooking and the other wraps their arms around their waist.
• Comfort cuddles
• When one of them is insecure and the other refuses to let them think of themselves that way.
When one of them is an angry ball of rage and will only be calm and happy when their s/o is around.
• Band AUs.
Kissing and then being picked up so their legs are wrapped around the others waist.
One of them is a jock and will always give their team jacket to the other.
• 5 + 1 (these depend on the topic).
• Comfort during an anxiety/panic attack.
• Coffeeshop AUs.
• Morning cuddling.
College AUs
Small one wearing tall one’s clothes.
When one of them is asexual and the other one hundred percent respects that and will do anything to make them feel comfortable.
• Sick fics.
• Saying “I love you” without directly saying it.
High school AUs.
• Friends playing matchmaker.
• Falling for the best friends brother/sister
• WHEN NEITHER OF THEM DIE.
• Youtuber AUs.
• One is a cinnamon roll that needs protection and the other is a brutal rebel and if anyone hurts their cinnamon roll they will destroy them (if you’re familar with my posts, you know how much I love this one).
• Meeting the parents and the parents are so accepting of the relationship.
• Friends noticing hickies and embarrassment ensues.
• Jealousy
• Saying their first “I love you”.
• Height difference cuteness where one of them is super short and their s/o will always pick them up to make them eye level.
• When they get locked in and that forces them to confess.
• Sloppy make outs.
When the relationship is already established.
When one of them comes back from a long trip and the other one picks them up from the airport/train station/bus stop and they have a big reunion scene.
When one of them is scared to fall in love but ends up loving the other too much and so when they kiss for the first time they just say “fuck it” and freaking go for it.

• (since I keep seeing people add it and I enjoy it on occasion as well) Fake dating.

And that’s it so far. I’ll most likely add more to this list later. Feel free to add your own. : )

Also I made this to help out any struggling fanfic writers, hope you like the ideas.

anonymous asked:

What do you do with Too Many Ideas Syndrome?

At first you embrace it: “I’ll never stop writing ‘cause I’ll never run out of ideas! This is awesome!!!!” And then you realize that with so many ideas, you’re going to have to pick one to run with and then it’s like uh…yeah…

Too Many Ideas

This question has given me the opportunity to bring back the cute bunny post from 2015. In it I discuss how you bounce back and forth between ideas, so take a look. It might help!

In that post I mention that it’s really a matter of going with whatever idea is most interesting to you at any given time. This could change from day to day, so one day you might work with one idea and the next you work with another. This is really basic advice, so I’m going to try to take it one step further.

Start with Your Characters

If you’re overwhelmed by how many concept/plot ideas you’ve got, make a list of each concrete idea and set it aside. Then, work on character development. Start with one key character and then work outward.

You might be wondering, how do I create characters without any kind of plot, but writers do actually do this. We’ve got questions in our inbox right now from writers that have developed characters and are stumped on the plot. So it’s definitely possible.

This key character you’re starting with? Begin by establishing aspects of them that are separate from plot, things like age, gender ID, racial/ethnic background, sexual ID, and obviously their name. Go as far as you feel compelled to go, but start with these basic facts.

Then, think about their relationships/friendships. Do they have lifelong friends they knew as children? Do they have siblings they’re close with? A parent they bond well with? Think about those they’re friendly with, and then do the same thing you did when you started with your key character - their age, gender ID, ect. ect.

Next, think about potential future relationships. These don’t have to be romantic relationships. If your key character is an artsy type, maybe you envision them clashing with someone who operates with logic and reason, and then seeing how they become friends or enemies over it. This leads you to create yet another character.

What you’re doing here is developing character dynamics. You’re thinking about who these characters are first, before you even begin to consider what will happen to them. Having a cast of characters in place before you plot anything out can immediately draw you in. As I’ve said before, this is one reason we write fanfiction. We’re attached to the established characters and we want to imagine them in new situations.

The Character Quick-Change

Grab the list you made earlier of all your plot ideas and concepts. Start casting them in roles in the ideas you’ve already come up and see how they fit. One of your ideas might be set in a fictional, fantasy world with fairies, werewolves, dragons, while another idea might be an urban fantasy where they are no magical creatures but there is magic. And maybe another idea has no magic at all. So as you plug your characters into each vastly different idea, the two start to mold each other. Your characters drive the plot, and the plot you chose will help you add deeper levels to your existing characters.

If something doesn’t feel right, move onto the next idea. Imagine your characters are standing on a stage, and you’re simply switching out the scenery and the costumes. You’re giving them opportunities to play different roles, but you’re allowing them to bring their own personalities and backgrounds to each role they take on.

Eventually you should find something that just fits. And when that happens, you keep going with it. You might run into problems as you’re writing, and you might be tempted to move onto another idea, and that’s okay! Go with your instincts and see what happens. Discipline with an idea is hard to maintain, so don’t feel guilty about it. It’s something all writers struggle with.

When it comes to frustration during the writing process, the trouble is differentiating between your idea just being dead and the typical writing problems that you’ll see with any idea. But I think that’s a whole other topic that maybe I’ll get into at a later date ;)

Writing = experimentation. Try things out and see what’s working and what isn’t. You’ll know an idea is worth exploring when it happens, because your excitement and enthusiasm will soar.

And as an afterthought, here’s another post that might be useful to you: Focusing on One Project.

You guys!

Henrik took it upon himself to make Tarjei feel comfortable. He knew that Tarjei was four years younger than him and took responsibility for his comfort. He knew that he needed to be someone Tarjei could trust and feel safe with. He knew that Tarjei should be in control. He was just like, “I am here for YOU, bud.”

And Even make sure Isak was comfortable. He was so, so patient, always checking to make sure Isak was okay with what was happening. And he never took it personally when Isak was hesitant. He made Isak feel safe and loved. He was just like, “I respect you and you’re in charge.”

Henrik’s complete lack of ego about the entire thing is incredible. He gives all the credit to Julie and has no idea how incredible he is. Of course Tarjei felt safe with him. He exudes warmth and gentleness and accommodation. He is a human angel.

I can’t. I have too many feelings. This show and these boys and these characters are too much.

(Shout out to @xionin for helping me process said feelings and @screamteam for screaming with me about them.)

How to write a bomb ass personal statement

I’ve had a few asks about how to write - as one of you put it - a bomb ass personal statement. I’m a bit reluctant to write this, seeing as I haven’t actually got an interview/offer yet! But I guess it might be helpful to those of you applying around now :)

HOW TO START

  • Bullet point what you want to include - I suggest listing out what you want to include. It’s a good idea to do this at the beginning, to make sure you don’t leave anything out; and it can help form the basic structure of your statement.
  • Do not start at the start - this is one of the most important things I learnt when writing mine. It is so hard to write that first sentence - so just leave it until the end, and begin writing with the actual content, something you’re more comfortable writing about.
  • When you do get down to writing that first sentence - do not start with a cheesy quote or the typical “I have always bee passionate about…” as these are things that can immediately put off an admissions tutor. Try and be original, or just simple: “I want to study X because…”

THE CONTENT

  • Just keep writing - don’t worry about the 4,000 character and 47 line limits. Literally just write, and keep going, even if you think what you’re writing is bad - just get all your ideas out there, and put down everything you would want to include. It’s so much easier to take things out rather than adding things in. My personal statement was around 8,000 characters at one point!`
  • Get the balance right - different unis want different things from personal statements, so check their websites to make sure you’re getting in what they want. You need to get the balance of intellectual curiosity/passion for the subject with your personal qualities and extra-curriculars.
  • Back up everything with evidence - don’t just say you are great at working in a team, give examples that demonstrate that you have worked well in successful teams in the past. What to include?

WHAT TO INCLUDE

  • Why you want to study that particular course
  • Why you are the right person to study the course
  • Extra things you have done to show commitment or interest about the course - volunteering, subscriptions to journals, further reading etc.
  • Any relevant work experience
  • Any relevant awards you’ve won (e.g. maths challenge or physics olympiad) or responsibilities within the school (e.g. prefect or house captain)
  • Demonstrate desirable skills for your course - problem solving, teamwork, leadership etc.

WHAT NOT TO INCLUDE

  • Cliches - like “Ever since I was born I have wanted to study…”
  • Quotes - this is a personal statement, so don’t start quoting other people! Plus way too many people do this to make it original.
  • Jokes - it may be that the person reading your statement has a very different sense of humour than you do.
  • Really long sentences - you want your personal statement to be as easy as possible to read, and long confusing sentences won’t help that.
  • Repetition - it’s such a short document, you don’t have space for this. Plus it gets boring!
  • Names of unis - the unis you apply to have no idea where else you have applied, so don’t name any of them in your statement.

THE ENDING

  • Do not end on a cheesy quote or joke. Just sum up why you’d be a great candidate and reinforce what you have told them throughout the main body of the statement - that you’re fabulous!
  • Once you have finished a draft you can start trying to cut down on the word count. Maybe ask a teacher to look at your spelling/grammar, and you can always get your friends’ opinions too, on what should come out, and what should be kept in. Make sure you don’t let other people have too much influence - it has to be a personal statement!

More Characters under the cut!

Here it is! The character sketches for the YouTube AU I’ve been working on for months! I’ve got a hell lot of headcanons in my mind for this AU and I’m really grateful to @qi-tana who is going to collaborate with me on this! When I don’t have an upcoming comic, she will have a short (most probably illustrated) fic ready!

Casting experience
I met the manager when I was walking to the convenience store with friends, so I was street casted, and went to Korea. They asked me if I knew After School and Son Dambi-sunbaenim, we then shot some videos, and then I got in. At first I was only curious, but then it became increasingly interesting, so I wanted to continue.

I have just finished binge watching “13 Reasons Why” and if you have no idea what I am talking about, this post might not make much sense to you. So, if you have not, I highly recommend you stop everything that you are doing and go watch the series for yourself.

If you have, then here we are. We have both witnessed what was waiting at the end of tape number thirteen. Some of you may not agree with or like the outcome that the show brought, and some of you will. I am not here to dispute any of your feelings.

I am here to say this: Hannah Baker is so important. Not because she is the main character of the show. No, it’s something much deeper than that. Unless you have been placed in the same pair of treacherous shoes that you are forced to walk day in and day out, you might not understand where I am coming from.

I am not here to talk about the tapes, and I am not here to discuss whether her actions were right or wrong. I am here to talk about Hannah Baker’s last day on earth.

As I watched “Tape 7, Side A” I could feel my stomach churn with every flashback of her final moments in Crestmont. I could feel my heart break with her vocalized hope of “giving life one more chance,” even though it was still causing her pain on the inside.

When she sought out the one person who was supposed to be able to provide answers, pushing through the torture of speaking the honest truth and praying for that person to take the reins and bring everything to a pause only for them to make her feel worse than she did going into the conversation. How she stood outside the door, hoping that someone would come after her and take control of the situation but they never did.

How she straightens up her room so she is no longer an inconvenience to her family whom she does not want to upset anymore. When looking in the mirror for the last time and not being about to cry because her body is exhausted from fighting against the storm, having no reaction or attachment to the image staring back. Holding the razor blade in between her fingertips and knowing what she is doing is wrong, but having it be the only option left because every other cry for help has been silenced or overlooked.

And last but not least, the silence that she has been desperately longing for but hating at the same time, filling the room once she has made the deep cuts to her veins.

This episode isn’t fiction. You should consider it a biography. While the people go about their lives living just another day, I have experienced this side of Hannah’s tape far too many times to keep count. Feeling completely numb inside because you already prepared yourself for no one to do a goddamn thing to truly help you, all while mentally scolding yourself for even entertaining the idea of a “chance” in the first place.

Hannah Baker is important because she is just like me. She’s the girl who’s place I’ve stood several times in my life. She’s the girl that I identify with way too much still to this day. When I first watched this scene, I couldn’t breathe. I was nauseous and wanted to skip ahead, but something in my head told me no. That I couldn’t because this was what the twelve episodes before had led up to.

For someone who has previously attempted suicide, I think the show did an incredible job of capturing the final moments of someone’s life and bringing awareness. It’s almost refreshing because, for a very long time, there has been nothing that deals with suicide, rape, etc. blow up in such a “trending” way. The show does not make the situation more light-hearted by having the person be rescued five seconds after making their final decision.

It was raw.  It was real.

I once publicly posted about my decision to check myself into a mental hospital to seek help for my high-depression after almost driving myself off the interstate and nearly slitting my wrist open all in one night. And I desperately wish I could say it was a success story and I’ve never thought about harming myself again. The truth is, the people who worked at the facility never followed up, and when I personally called seeking more information and help, they never returned my phone calls. The truth is there is not a day that goes by that I do not think about it once. I don’t think it’s something that ever really goes away.

But I think the worst part about the situation was that many people in my close circle knew from gossiping lips and had the “bless her heart” effect. No one wanted to talk about it. No one asked questions. They just accepted the fact that I wanted to end my life and went on about their business. It seemed like these people in my circle truly believed that talking about suicide would make it happen. And that they were here for me, but only at arms’ length.

This post is not meant to scare you away from viewing the show. It’s not meant for you to have negative thoughts about it either. The show has many layers, Hannah’s suicide just being one of them. There are backstories and evolving characters that guide you through an eye-opening journey through discovering the truth. A real life look into some of the issues throughout schools across the world, and how little things can still have a tremendous effect on someone.

The show is meant to educate. To call for action before something like this happens again. To stop the only efforts for change being posters that say “don’t kill yourself” and start an actual and purposeful conversation. Suicide is such a taboo subject, yet it is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. Every day, approximately 105 people take their own life. Every thirteen minutes, someone chooses Hannah Baker’s ending.

Over the past few days since the release of the series, there have been many posts in the media claiming that “13 Reasons Why” romanticized suicide and that Hannah Baker is a selfish, self-centered teenager. And sure, people have every right to think that. But through my countless hours scrolling through the tags on social media platforms, it’s comforting knowing that I am not the only mentally-ill person who gives this show a thumbs up.

I guess my plea here is simple. Do not go into the show with preconceived notions that this show is “messed up” and unrealistic. Be aware of trigger warnings at the beginning of episodes and make a judgment call on whether or not you personally can handle a scene. Please keep in mind this scene is how it sometimes goes for some people and is important to some.

And the last thing on my soapbox, there are so many Hannah Baker’s in the world who need your compassion more than your urgency to get finished with the conversation so that you are able to move on. Don’t be afraid to talk about suicide. You never know who is needing you to speak up the most.

Horoscopes by Gil Hizon - Week of April 9 - 15, 2017

Men I may not know, but horoscopes? Horoscopes, I fucking know.

ARIES (March 21 – April 19)

This week, you’ll find a kindred spirit in another fellow ARIES. Somehow, within your busy schedules and your manic, zig-zaggy trajectories, your worlds will collide. And it would feel like the most natural thing in the the world. One thing’s for sure. I’ve seen two ARIESes conversate - it’s like witnessing a tennis match between the Roadrunner and the Tazmanian fucking devil.
=====

TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)

You see, expectations are tricky little bitches. On the one hand, what you feel you may deserve says something about how you view yourself as a person and how you relate to all these hos in your vicinitay. On the other, it shows your dependency in others opinions of yo ass. Regardless of the nature of your expectations, I wouldn’t put too many balls in one jockstrap.
=====

GEMINI (May 21 – June 21)

It’s your damn-ass fault for having way too many ideas. Now, they’re all in your head, competing for your attention. Which one to attend to first? You have no fucking clue. I would like to say that no matter which idea you pursue, it’ll all be okay, but this isn’t the case. You really have to rely on your heart (remember that organ?) to help you pick which project has the most potential to nourish your soul. In the end, that’s what that shit is all about.
=====

CANCER (June 22 – July 22)

Whatever you owe some bitch will have to be repaid immediately, if not sooner. Your reputation is at stake here, crabface. And this has nothing to do with whether you can front the money or not. This is about promise, dignity and fucking honor. Your ability to follow through will not only be judged this week, it’ll also be used as a metric for your future dealings. Pay up, queen!
=====

LEO (July 23 – August 22)

Your paranoid tendencies this week my alienate other bitches. And here’s the thing: your paranoia about other hos who are allegedly out to get yo ass may feed into your immediate behavior, and your altered actions might put off other hos. Putting off other queens will add into your feelings of being judged and that shit can only keep on going. Remember, only you have the power to break this fucking cycle.
=====

VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)

You’re on the verge of something awesome, and the only bitch who can fuck this up is – you guessed it – YOU. This is not the time to be getting in your own way, queen. This is the time to take yourself for who you are, and truly own that shit. You may have your share of warts, but you are much more of a badass than you deem yourself to be.
=====

LIBRA (September 23 – October 22)

Okay, gurl. There has been a lot of broken deals that have cluttered your mojo lately, and I know that this has greatly eroded whatever belief you have in yourself. Your self-worthiness is at an all-time low and it’s feeling like you don’t have the power to pick your own ass up. It’s all in your head, dahling. You have more time to pull yourself together than you think.
=====

SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21)

When two of your beloved bitches converge from different sides of an argument, they will look unto yo ass to be the decision maker. And gurl, that shit is going to be a doozy. Picking sides will be difficult, as it will have a ripple effect of suckyness, but you know which one of your hos is right. The queen you don’t choose may hate your fucking guts at first, but in the end, she’ll respect you for being honest with your truth.
=====

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)

I’m sure you’re at a place right now where you’re doubting the system. Deep in your heart of hearts, you pursued an environment where you can feel like you’re making a difference. But recent events have caused you to question if there’s even a place for yo ass. Listen, queen. Your initial instincts are right. There are some things you can believe in. There will be bumps on the road, but you’re on the right fucking path. K?
=====

CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)

Hidden beneath all your layers and layers of shoulder pads, lies an ambitious queen. But look deeper, and you’ll discover a heart that really cares about others beyond your wants. It won’t be easy for you to tap into that energy, because you tend to suppress that shit, but if there’s ever a time to explore how far your own compassion can go, this is that time. Don’t fuck it up.
=====

AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)

You look like a queen who’s ready to cut a bitch. I get that she has done something to anger you, but your behavior may be an overreaction. You are going to have to get to the heart of why this ho bothers you so much. You may be seeing something in hurr that reminds you of what you don’t like about yourself. Before you pull out that cutting implement, make sure you use introspection first.
=====

PISCES (February 19 – March 20)

Why the fuck are you spending all your energies trying to help some busted ho? There are certain demands in your life that are warranting your attention now, you fishy queen. Yes, I know you have history with said ho, but this bitch is grown. It is not up to you to make decisions for her. You’ve done enough. It’s time to step back and tend to your fucking life. I heard it’s in shambles, gurr.

The group I DM for my hombrew game love to loot anything and everything that isn't nailed down. However, this makes it hard to give bosses cool/powerful weapons without them taking it and breaking the game. I've tried counteracting this by having them fight mostly magic users and monsters that use claws or fangs. It feels cheap though to just tell them "you can't have this because reasons" or having the weapon miraculously break after the fight. Any ideas on how to avoid this problem?

You could look for weapons that you know they’re not proficient in! I’m gonna try to cover as many weapons as possible, if this doesn’t help please feel free to send me specific weapons you wanted to use. Today, a week from now, a month, etc. I hope this helps! <3

Giant weapon: Literally too big to use/hold. You can take it, but you move at speed 10.

Smaller hand held weapon: It burns, its almost unbearable. 1d6 damage every time you pick it up. [e.g. if they put it in a sheath and take it out, 1d6 damage]

The item has a spell cast on it to return to its wielder, even in death. Its powerful enough to drag the player holding it back by 10 feet whenever they move away from it.

The weapon is sentient, and had a symbiotic relationship with the enemy. Your players have nothing to give, so it doesn’t want to work with them.

Book or wooden weapon: The enemy makes his items bursts into flames when he knows its over.

The items great power came from the enemy, once he’s gone the item returns to normal stats. [e.g. amputation knife cuts off limbs, limbs become under control of enemy and does 1d10 damage. but in your party’s possession, it just does 1d4 slashing]

Bow: The string snapped. its replaceable, but the string is what gave it its power. Unfortunate. Looks beautiful, though!

Whip: Spikes found along the whip were grown by the witch, who is since dead. With no spikes, it does less damage.

Ammunition: Looks like its already been used…twice? Its dangerous to reuse it. You can, but its not recommended.

P.S. I Love You- A Sirius Black Imagine

A/N: I know, I know, two imagines in one night? Anyways, this is a little something that I decided to work on and post tonight in dedication to @goblackhatwithme . I hope you enjoy it, Renee! There are probably many mistakes in this so I am sorry but I wanted to get this posted tonight. This also has nothing to do with the film “P.S. I Love You,” but I thought it was a cute title. Hope you all enjoy!

The more subtle kind of gender dysphoria

For the longest time, I couldn’t tell whether I had gender dysphoria or not.

I don’t get severe “flare-ups” of dysphoria often. Most of the time it’s so low that I can ignore it. As I’ve said before, when I do feel dysphoric, it’s usually because I got triggered by being in a heavily gendered space, or by being treated in a strongly gendered way by other people. I’ve had other sources of dysphoria, too, but much more rarely.

When people talk about gender dysphoria, we almost always describe it as a feeling - a negative emotion or subjective experience, which exists only inside your head. So the implication is that, if you aren’t currently feeling unhappy or uncomfortable about gender stuff, then you must not be currently experiencing dysphoria. And if you never feel those nasty twinges of awkwardness and wrongness, then you must not have gender dysphoria at all…right?

No. There’s something else going on that we need to consider: coping mechanisms.

So this was just posted on Twitter today!

Who’s feeling brave? I have an idea that will take every single person’s help!

RENEW LUCIFER PROJECT

What if we submit a video to the Lucifer writers with a montage of us holding up signs to renew Lucifer for Season 3?

I figure our song of choice could be Unsteady. Unless you guys think something more upbeat like All Eyes On Me. Or something else too!

I think it’d be a lot of fun. Show the writers who we are and the different people from all walks of life love the show.

So depending on how many people want to participate, each person could either snap a picture or maybe 5-10 second video displaying their sign.

Then, one person could be designated the collector and editor of the video package. When completed, we can upload it and send it to the Lucifer writers. 😈

Input is really appreciated! This would be something that could be put together within a few days time.

Anyone on board with this? Drop a comment below!

A/N: wow it’s been a while. Two things; 1, this is literally a dream I had. 2, I blame @secretschuylersister for wearing off on me enough to write this.

———

The blinding lights and bustling streets of New York only seem like background noise to you at this point in your life. You’ve lived here since you graduated college, and it hasn’t been as bad as you’d originally thought. Sure, the towering skyscrapers and ceaseless shouting or honking outside of your apartment was much different than the silent cricket chirps outside of your family’s home back in Missouri, but it was a much needed change.

In fact, living in New York has changed your life completely. You were still the same kiddo from the small country town back home, aspiring to do great things. You still said “y'all”. You still lived off of sweet tea. You still had all of your little traits you’d gained from growing up there. But once you hit New York? “Culture Shock” was really the only way to describe it.

It seemed like you were never alone in the “City that Never Sleeps”. The streets were never empty, the lights glaring from the billboards outside of your window were your new night stars, and you always saw something new everyday. It’s was probably one of the best places for you to be with your dream job; writing. A new thing seen on the side of the street fueled a new song lyric, a new poem, a new story, and new something. You were constantly jotting stuff down in your favorite black notebook, usually adding to your current project; a musical.

“Hey, Y/N, do you want me to go get you something before you leave for the airport?” Your roommate’s voice inquires from the opposite side of the dining room table, her head resting in her hand defeatedly from her work. You don’t even bother to peal your eyes away from your page, frantically scribbling down yet another lyric for one of your main characters. “Nah, I’ll probably just grab something quick on the way to the airport. Thanks though, Ky.” She raises an eyebrow at you, obviously doubting that you will. “Uh huh. Like all of those other times that you’ve said that you’ll get something to eat on the way out, and proceed to not go out, continue to write in that stupid notebook of yours, and stay up until I wake up the next morning?”

“Okay okay, you’ve got me there.” You breathe, allowing for her to pull the black leather bound pages away from you. “But what can I say, Ky? I’m basically a writing machine, I just can’t help it. There’s too many ideas locked up inside of my mind to not write them all down. I wanna share them with the world!”

“You can keep writing about those silly little characters you’ve got after you eat something, Y/N. There’s my leftovers in the fridge I’ll let you have if you eat them right now.” Kylie offers, gesturing to the stainless steel door behind her. “Yeah yeah, okay. No need to blackmail me here.” You retort, rolling your eyes and nudging her aside. Slipping your hand around the cool handle, you yank the door open and pull out the white styrofoam box, ready to devour it in order to keep writing. “You never talk to me about anything besides your stupid musical now, Y/N. I wanna talk about other stuff.” Kylie huffs, flopping into the wooden chair across from yours at the table.

“That came out of nowhere.” You chuckle, settling back into your spot, this time eating instead of writing. “I know, but I feel like you’ve just been kinda distant lately. I don’t think you’ve actually talked to me about your life for at least a month-oh my god you’ve never talked to me about your love life. Tell me. Now.” Kylie gushes, her eyes widening at the thought of not knowing. “I’ve never talked about it because it’s non-existent.” You joke through a mouthful of a quesadilla. “When was your last relationship?” She questions, her eyebrows furrowing slightly with concern. You simply shrug. “Last kiss?” “Never had one.” “Last time you were in love?!” “Does the kid I hated in 1st grade count?”

“Oh my god, why have you never told me that you’re helpless?!” Kylie cries, flailing her hands around frantically. “I didn’t realize that my love life was a big deal to you?” You snort, suddenly reconsidering if you should’ve just lied to her and said you had a boyfriend. Wow, that actually did make you sound really lonely. Nice going. “Um, hello?! Being in love is one of the-no, IS the best feeling in the world?!”

“Love is a choice, not really an emotion, KyKy.” You correct, gently pointing your fork at her in correction. Or at least, that’s what you’ve always known it as. Throughout high school, you saw relationship after relationship go strong for a solid three months, and then crash and burn because the “feeling just wasn’t there” and they’d already moved on to a new lover. You never understood how people could just hook up because of “a feeling”, and then not try to fix it if they thought it was that important. It’s always seemed like it should be an effort from both parties, not just “run with this instinct”. That and everyone in your school were a bunch of idiots.

“Wow. Okay I need to take you out with me sometime, you’re going to get a boyfriend to call your own.” Kylie breathes, making it sound like it’s going to be a hassle. “Hey! I’m perfectly lovable, thank you very much.” You snap, narrowing your eyes at her. “Oh are you now, little Miss No-Love-Life?” She throws back just as quickly. “By the sounds of it, you really aren’t.”

“Well it’s not just that nobody’s ever had a crush on me, I can name off a couple. It’s a matter of them not sharing the same ideals and such as me.” “Oh, please do go on. I’m curious of what these ideals could possibly be.” Kylie teases, leaning into her hands playfully.

“Simple. None of them have ever understood my love for writing, how I need to throw my thoughts onto paper, how I want too make something out of thin air.” There were a couple of people from high school you can remember having a bit of a thing for you, but at the same time you can remember how you cast them away way too quickly when you got to know them. In retrospect, you were probably kinda cruel to them, but you’ve always stood by what you learned from growing up. Your stubbornness wasn’t about to give in on the one thing that you’ve always loved.

“Oh, so you want someone who’s just as insane as you about writing, so that you two can die together because you forgot about your needs for survival? Got it.” Kylie laughs, still in disbelief that guys had crushes on you. “Whatever, Ky. Just give me my notebook back already, I’ve gotta get going.” You fume, shoving the empty takeout box at her from across the table. “Okay, geez. Didn’t know you were such a crabby person when you’re away from your paper.” She sighs, handing back your notebook. “Most people would get upset if you held their child hostage.”

“Wow, you really are obsessed with that thing, aren’t you?”

“Goodbyeeeee Kylie.” You draw out, wrapping your hand around the handle of your luggage, and tossing your backpack over your shoulder as you head for the front door. “Waitwaitwaitwait.” She fumbles, racing towards you. She wraps her thin arms around you, embracing you tightly. “Stay safe, Y/N. And find yourself a boyfriend while you’re at it.” You roll your eyes jokingly and hug back, the resentment from moments ago melting away.

“Okay, now get going you lug. I want the apartment to myself for as long as I can get.” Kylie finishes, gently pushing you out the door and into the complex’s hallway. “Whatever. I’ll see you in two weeks, you snot.” You call back, rolling your bag towards the elevator.

Tucking an earbud into your ear, you bury your phone into your pocket and pull you pencil out from behind your other ear, already jotting some more stuff down about your main characters and their backgrounds. Maybe have them meet at a party? No, that’s too High School Musical-y. Maybe in the park? Meh, cliché. What about if they just run into each other somewhere-literally run into each other? That’s a good one, adds to the comedic effect. Would their best friends push them back together? Is there going to be a huge fight, or will there be a tragedy for one of them that makes the super withdrawn? Why not both? Will one of them die in the end? Will one of them leave and fall for someone else? Will there be a happily ever after-ew no. Happy endings always happen by happenstance, and it’s just not logical. That doesn’t happen in the real world. No happy endings.

Thoughts continue to flood through your mind and onto the paper as you hit the outside of your apartment building and whistle for a taxi, hoping that one stops within the next five minutes. Luckily, the first one manages to see you and pulls over, letting you climb in the back. The driver’s gruff voice calls to you, “Where ya headed?”. “JFK.” You quickly respond, scratching something out on another page just to rewrite the idea. “Ya don’t sound like yer from ‘round here, little lady. You headed back home or sometin’?” He asks curiously, his voice rather warm and inviting, like your favorite uncle or something.

“Is it that easy to tell?” You laugh, forcing yourself away from your journal for a little bit to keep a conversation with him. “Trust me, lil’ lady, I’ve had ma fair share of outta-towners in this her’ girl. Ya sound kinda southern, but not really. Midwest maybe?” He guesses, tilting his dark sunglasses down to look at you from his rearview mirror. “You’re good.” You nod, smiling at his correct answer. “That’s what I thought.” He smirks, pushing his sunglasses back up the bridge of his nose. “Anytin’ in particular yar’ leavin’ for?”

“Nothing more than returning home for a couple of weeks at this point. Maybe busting with some old friends, who knows.” You answer distantly, the thoughts of what could happen at home overcoming you for a moment. There’s so many people you haven’t seen in what feels like forever. And you haven’t seen your dog in ages, either. “Simple 'nuff. Wish I could go back home fer’ a lil’ bit, ya know? Get ta visit with ma Nana again, see how she’s been doin’.”

“How long has it been since you’ve gone home?” You question, taking in his features as you do so. A bit larger, receding hairline pretty evident, dark sideburns, and an impressive beard to match. They all seem to fit his voice perfectly. “Uh, let’s see her’. Probably when I graduated, so… Eleven ye-nah, that’s too short. Probably somewhere closer ta fifteen or so, s'uppose.” He draws out, scratching his curly beard. “Fifteen years?!” You instinctively blurt out, instantly regretting it. “Ya, I’ve been stuck up her’ in da Big Apple fer’ a long while now, ya know? I just haven’t really given myself a chance ta get outta her’. Glad ya can, doh. Helps lift ma spirits a bit, seein’ ya off.”

“Speakin’ a which, her’ ya are, lil’ lady! The famous plane port of da Big Apple!” He presents, parking the cab along the curb next to the front entrance. You blink a bit, taking in the sudden appearance of the airport and its towering parts. “Oh wow. We got here fast. How much do I owe you?” You start pulling your wallet out of your backpack, but a gentle, calloused hand sets itself on your shoulder. Slightly confused, you turn towards the front seat, only to be greeted by the same smiling face as before.

“No charge fer’ ya, lil’ lady. It’s been a bit since I’ve had a good ol’ conversation with someone, ya know? Ever'one her’ is always in a rush and snappy, wantin’ ta get somewhere quick. Thank ya for given ma a good laugh today.”

You don’t know how to respond. Your mouth has opened to try and deter him, but nothing comes out, which only makes his grin wider and more toothy. “Now get a move on, lil’ lady. Don’t want ya ta be a missin’ dat flight of ya’s cuz’ I’m bein’ nice.”

Flabbergasted, you slowly climb out of the backseat and onto the sidewalk, bag and notebook in hand, and watch the dandelion yellow taxi pull away, leaving a thin cloud of exhaust in its wake. You glance down at your watch, the minute hand hovering over the 6 is all the indication you need to start booking it to your gate.

Weaving between as many people as you can while still jotting stuff down about that taxi driver in your notebook, you hurry across the airport, trying to multitask and catch your plane all in due time. It’s not as hard as you thought it would be, considering everyone was clearing a path for you as you plowed towards them.

Well, except one person.

Your notebook goes clambering to the glossy tile floor as you topple to the ground, your backpack slipping off of your shoulder and your luggage rolling out of reach. Your back crashes against the hard ground, and your lungs collapse in on themselves for a moment on impact. Thank god you had the wind knocked out of you for a second, because if you hadn’t, you probably would’ve said something utterly embarrassing about the rather cute guy on top of you, his face inches from yours.

“Oh shi- I’m so sorry! Here lemme-uh-…” He fumbles, trying to push himself off of you as quickly as possible without making it more awkward. He manages it, (somehow), and offers you a hand, which you take, a bit dazed from the impact still. Wow, he’s stronger than he looks. “Uhhh…” He sounds off, awkwardly brushing some invisible dust off of your clothes. “Sorry about that. I get kinda caught up in my head sometimes.”

“No, it’s fine, I do too. I should’ve looked where I was going in the first place.” You apologize, leaning down to pick up your notebook. “Oh, let me get that for you.” He instantly states, snatching it up in his hands. “Huh, this one looks like the one I have.” He chuckles slightly, patting his pocket for a second before going into a panic. “Wait, where is my notebook?” He stammers out, spinning around to look for it.

“Oh, is this it?” You ask, picking up an identical notebook to yours next to your slightly rolled away luggage. His face immediately softens at the sight of it, his eyes almost brightening. “Wow, we really are a mess, huh?” He laughs nervously, swapping notebooks with you.

“Y/N.”

“Lin.”

A single best of silence passes between the two of you, before your watch beeps at you. You glance down to it to see that your flight leaves in five minutes, and panic washes over you. “Sorry Lin, but I don’t wanna miss my plane. Nice talking to you!” You shout over your shoulder as you take off in a dead sprint for your exit, which is now within sight.

Frantically waving down the flight attendant like in the movie Home Alone, she graciously reopens the door to the plane for you, and you quickly take to your seat, pushing your carry on into whatever overhead space you can find.

The seatbelt light flickers on overhead, and you try to settle into place. Luckily, not many people are on the flight to St. Louis, so you have the row to yourself. The flight attendants flow into the isle to do their normal routine of safety, but you tune them out and set your notebook on your lap, digging out a pencil from your backpack, ready to write again. That taxi driver really gave you a new idea for a character that helps advance the plot of your musical.

Flipping open to a random page, you skim over everything, trying to find the right area to start again. Let’s see, Laurens and Hamilton have a thing for each other, Angelica has a thing for Hamilton, Jefferson is a magenta ass-wait. Since when did you have a Laurens? Or a Hamilton? Or an Angelica? Or a Jefferson? When did they all develop a thing for each other? This handwriting doesn’t look like yours, it’s too nice for scribbles.

You thumb through the other pages, becoming more and more frantic as you see the same penmanship sprawling across the other yellowing pages. Where did all of your work go?! When did it get replaced with this- this- what do you even call this?!

Then it hits you. The clumsy yet cute man that tackled you. The awkwardness of the encounter. The panic over notebooks.

Oh no.

Lin has your notebook.

And you have his.

Trollhunters fic ideas (I might break down and write some of these myself one day, but for now, here you go)

- the trolls reacting to human behaviors they are unfamiliar with, i.e. one of the kids sneezes or gets the hiccups and the trolls are just /concerned/

- in a similar vein, Jim gets sick because he’s going through strenuous training with minimal sleep as well as the stress of his daily life. He tries to play it off and then just blacks out. Cue panicked-dad mode Blinky

-winter themed story. I don’t know if theyd even get snow, but what if for some reason they did. Claire introduces Draal to snowball fighting by going “hey watch this” and then pegging Jim in the side of the head from across the street. Draal thinks it’s hysterical. Jim is unamused
Bonus: Jim tries to retaliate but Claire dodges and the snowball hits Draal instead. He takes it as a (playful) challenge and snow is thrown all over the place

- also can we get more brotherly interactions with Jim and Toby. Please, these kids are like family, they’ve known each other for at least 10 years, and I’m almost certain that Toby would have helped Jim cope with his father leaving, and Jim probably helped Toby work through whatever happened to his parents.

- really anything to do with the Wingmen. Toby and Arrrgh are literally the best duo . ever. of all time.

- bit of a crack idea here. Jim does something reckless and nearly gets hurt. Draal pulls him aside to scold him for needlessly endangering himself, then stops abruptly as he realizes that he sounds just like his father.

- also Draal slowly becoming like a big brother to Jim, because sibling relationships are my jam.

- hc/whatif even though he can’t dance, Jim can sing. He idly breaks into song while cooking something and doesn’t notice he has a captive audience in the other room.
(bonus/crack idea: if this were written as a monsteroftheweek episode, Jim would end up singing a lullaby to said monster and putting it to sleep)

- Trolls vs chili peppers. They are unaffected. Surprised, Jim and Toby decide to try the peppers as well. They ARE affected.

- I need an au where Jim is half changeling and unaware of this until he meets the trolls and they recognise him as not fully human, and his changeling heritage starts manifesting as visible traits after he gets the amulate because the magic is what brings them out. If the other trolls were angry that a human was suddenly chosen as Trollhunter, how furious would they be to have a half-breed be chosen. (also Jim struggling to hide glowing eyes, sprouting horns, and marks on his skin from everyone at school. And what would he tell his mother?!)(and also Blinky helping Jim adjust to the fact that he’s part troll, educating him as best he can, because of course a hybrid isn’t going to have the same issues as a full blooded troll)

I’ll definitely add to this later, but this is it for now.

anonymous asked:

I have a Valentine's Day based idea! sorry if it's stupid lolol Basically viktor has planned a day to show yuuri how many people love him to help him understand that he is valued and to help with his anxiety of not being good enough (cause vday can be platonic too!!) but yuuri wakes up and has other plans ;)) and Eros mode is switched on - viktor wants to tell him it's not the best idea BC people might come in but obvs he can't resist ;)) (you decide whether they're caught or not) <3333

Victor had it all planned out. He really did. He just wanted to show Yuuri how important he was, not only to Victor, but to everyone else in his life. Sometimes Yuuri needed to be reminded that it wasn’t only Victor who got his ‘life and love’ from him. What better day to show him that than on Valentine’s Day. A day of love.

It was supposed to start with a phone-call from Yuuri’s family back home in Japan. They were going to tell him how much they loved him and how much they missed him. And afterwards, Victor was going to give Yuuri a plane ticket home for a long-weekend in a couple months to see them. He wanted to tell Yuuri that his family loved him and missed him.

Then he’d planned for them to take a walk down to the coffeeshop just around the corner with Maccachin where he’d give Yuuri a new collar he’d bought for the poodle. One that had a tag with engraved with: ‘if found, please call Victor and Yuuri at…’. It was supposed to show Yuuri how much a part he was of Victor’s small family.

Phichit was supposed to call Yuuri after coffee. He’d even asked for a specific time so they wouldn’t be caught in the middle of walking or order coffee. He was going to tell Yuuri how much he missed rooming with him - their late night talks. After, Victor was going to show Yuuri the website he’d been looking at for new couches. Big ones that could fold out into a bed, so when (not if) friends came to visit, they could stay with Yuuri and Victor.

After that, (and Victor had allowed extra time because Phichit really liked to talk sometimes), they were supposed to head back home where Yurio was going to visit. He was going to stop by on his way to practice and he was going to actually tell Yuuri how much he’d looked up to him in his youth (Victor had bribed him with the promise of choreography for next season). He was going to going to actually use his words to explain how dear Yuuri was to him. And Victor was going to suggest putting together an exhibition piece with all three of them in honour of their strange family dynamic.

Then they were all supposed to head over to breakfast with Mila, Yurio and Georgi. Victor was going to show Yuuri a video he’d had the triplets back in Hasetsu make with the videos from his phone. He’d already watched it. It was heartwarming. It included scenes of well-wishes from friends at home (Yuuko, Minami, and Minako), and internationally (Guang-hong, Leo, Chris and Phichit, mostly) interspersed with snippets of rink time here in Russia where Yuuri was laughing and skating with his fellow rink-mates.

Everything was supposed to fall into place. He’d planned it perfectly, he was sure. He wanted to make Yuuri’s heart swell with warmth and joy. Give him something to hold onto when his anxiety became too much; something Victor could remind him of when he was feeling particularly unsettled. It was the perfect sentiment for Valentine’s Day: the day of love, no matter the form. He’d planned it so the morning was for friends and family, an Agape love, with the evening reserved for him and a more Eros sentiment.

It was supposed to be perfect. But Yuuri had made plans of his own.

Victor gasps up at Yuuri as he slides his naked body smoothly over Victor’s as soon as their alarm rings.

“Good morning,” he purrs, eyes dilated and aroused. He’s put on his full Eros persona and is giving Victor a show.

“Yuuri-” Victor moans. Half of him wants to push his fiancé off, tell him to get dressed in time for his family’s call. The other half of him wants to see where this is going.

“Shhh,” Yuuri grins, pressing a finger to Victor’s lips. “I have a Valentine’s gift I want to give you.” Victor isn’t going to refuse that. And then Yuuri does something with his mouth that drives any coherent thoughts from his mind

Ten minutes later, when his phone chimes with the call. Yuuri turns on the ‘do not disturb’ function, then throws it behind their pillows somewhere where it’ll be lost for half a day. Victor doesn’t even care. Not when Yuuri’s looking at him that way. Not when Yuuri’s captured his attention so thoroughly.

It’s only two hours later, when Victor’s hands are tied up and out of the way, and he’s in a blissed-out state - Yuuri is gasping above him - does he hear the harsh slide of jingling keys in the lock of their apartment.

“Oh, shit, shit,” He curses, “Yuuri, please, love,” he cries, “we need to-”

“Eyes on me only,” Yuuri demands, grabbing Victor’s chin roughly and pulling his attention back to his lover above him, unaware of what’s about to happen.

Victor hopes dearly Yurio won’t just barge in on them because he’s powerless to stop Yuuri’s Eros right now. Yurio had been reluctant to take the keys to the apartment they’d given him months ago for his very reason - he doesn’t ever want to walk in on them.

“Oiiii,” Yurio calls from the kitchen, “You guys back yet? Lets get this over with. I’m starving. I wanna go for breakfast.”

Yuuri doesn’t even falter in his rhythm, just raising one eyebrow as if to ask Victor ‘breakfast?’.

“Yurio!” Victor calls out in the most even voice he can muster. “Just go ahead to breakfast by yourself! We’ll meet with you there!”

“Huh? Why?” Yurio calls through the door. “I thought you wanted me to confess all that sappy shit to Yuuri. I’m not doing that in public.”

“Sappy shit?” Yuuri asks quietly, but Victor ignores him for a second.

“Please, just-” he tires to explain, but breaks off with a gasp as Yuuri twists one of his nipples.

There’s a pause where Victor’s sure Yurio’s right outside their bedroom door. It takes less than a second for Yurio to realizes what’s happening. “Are you fucking KIDDING ME?” He all-but shrieks. “Oh my god! I’m leaving. And you’re taking your key back at breakfast!” He yells, just before he slams their front door shut.

“I ah, think we should finish up soon here,” Victor says reluctantly, turning his attention back to Yuuri. “We’re supposed to meet for breakfast. Actually, I had this whole romantic morning planned out-” he tries to explain. He’s afraid for a moment that Yuuri will be to embarrassed to continue.

But his lover just smirks. “They can wait.”
