One of the things I’m really digging about this zine is the different ways Gomez is being depicted. He’s excited and curious and happy (and one instance of “creepy” according to Renaud)! Hunter Heckroth shows a sort of contemplative Gomez; he’s in this wide world of new things, and taking a moment’s rest. (oh and Hunter - the leaves on this are ridiculously awesome!)

Two more contributors to go, and then my pop-up on Friday!

Dime Bag 4
curated by Jordin Isip

Opening Reception: Thursday, July 3rd, 8:00-10:00 pm

The End is Near
465 7th Ave.
Brooklyn, NY 11215
(Park Slope, btw16th and Windsor)

Each of the more than two hundred invited artists received a 3" x 3" plastic zip lock bag, a “dime bag” of sorts. They were asked to create their artwork for and installed within the bag. There was no overt conceptual theme to show beyond the device of the bag itself and each artist was free to interpret within these simple parameters.

I just got the proof for FEZZINE and oh my gosh. I am so excited and so overwhelmed by how well it has turned out. Here’s a preview gif of all of the work (sans my piece which is a pop-up to be mounted on that cloudy page and Ian’s piece which will have a flipbook on that bright violet spread!).

So many pieces left to show, and they’re all incredible. This is a small run of 100 zines as a sort of test to see how it goes, and we’ll see what happens from there! To everyone who contributed, and to everyone who has supported it with reblogs and kind words - thank you so much!
