heavy sorbet

anonymous asked:

what is your skincare routine? (i'm sorry if you've already been asked that!) xx

My skincare routine is quite involved, though I really enjoy the process. I take care of the base so that I don’t have to do much about makeup: I admire natural skin and beauty.

I begin my routine by exfoliating using Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant. It’s my absolute favourite skincare product, and I swear by it. Last time I was purchasing a bottle, the man at the boutique gave me a small bottle of Dermalogica’s new Superfoliant (which he described as being a “re-vamped version of the original microfoliant”) and it’s absolutely wonderful. I’ll most likely switch out the original for the newer exfoliant once I’m out of the Microfoliant.

I cleanse using Fresh’s Peony Brightening Foam Cleanser- which has a really lovely scent! I’d recommend this product if you’re living in the city or a polluted area as it protects your skin against environmental aggressors. I massage it into my skin using my fingertips to increase circulation.

For toning, I switch between using Évolué’s Firming Toner and home-made rose water. In the past, I’ve also used Estée Lauder’s Fresh Balancing Lotion which is wonderful. I use simple cotton pads for application.

In the evening (before bed), I apply a layer of Estée Lauder’s Enlighten -a dark spot correcting serum I absolutely adore. I’ve been using it for over six months now and my skin is noticeably brighter, less dull, and healthy-looking. To apply, I rub my palms together to activate the serum and then lightly press and push it into my skin.

I switch between moisturizers depending on the season: I use Fresh’s Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream in the winter months when I prefer something richer (yet not too heavy) and Caudalíe’s Moisturizing Sorbet Cream in the summer (for a lighter, sweeter moisturizer). Both are divine.
