heavy body mods

Halloween Town. How could I not?  Oh, I seem to be some mix of Gargoyle and Incubus… Heh. Now I can glide, too.

//Gargoyle because he’s very protective of Ventus at this point, Incubus because he’s a little shit and likes to dominate in general (not necessarily in a bedroom context.)

Does anyone have recommendations for heavy mod people who do ear pointing. I was the really natural style so it looks like i’ve been born with naturally pointed ears?

Either UK based or people that tour.

I’m currently thinking about possibly either Samppa Von Cyborg or X-ronix, the plus side with

I want to look around more though before even emailing anyone.

this is the style I want

Okay, here is another rant that’s about to go down. Today’s topic is my favourite topic, BODY MODS YAYYY. As a person who has modifications and wants further mods, I hate it when people discriminate. Whether it be piercings, tattoos, breast implants, makeup, stretched ears, hair dye or ANYHTING of the sort, discrimination is wrong. My first point is discrimination. Whenever I talk about what tattoos I want to get or what piercings I want to get, I always get told the same thing: ‘but why would you do that to your body?’ I would and probably will do these things to my body because I like it. If you get a spray tan, I don’t come up to you and ask why you’d do that. You obviously do it because you like it. It’s the exact same for people with different modifications. I have piercings, I dye my hair a lot, I want tattoos and more piercings, I want lovely big lobes, I want my ears sculpted and I want my tongue split. I’m doing these things for myself. I’m basically saying that this is what I want my body to look like because I, as an individual PERSON, want these things done because I think they look nice. I am not forcing my opinions on you, I’m just telling you what I like and what I find nice looking. My second point: work. I always get told ‘how will you find a job with all of those piercings and tattoos?’. I want to get a job in the modification industry and, believe it or not, the people in that workplace do not care what mods you have- they care about work ethic. If I do a good job at putting a needle through somebody’s nose, they won’t turn around and say ‘I’m sorry, some customer doesn’t like your piercing. You need to take it out or you’re fired’. In the industry of piercing and tattooing, the people that hire you don’t give a fuck about what you look like because there’s a 95% chance that they have body mods as well.

So far I only have 2 piercings and stretched lobes. I am planning on getting 10 more piercings and stretching my lobes to- at least- 30mm. I am planning on getting my ears sculpted to look like elf ears. I am planning on getting many, many tattoos including a few small face tats. I am planning on stretching my septum, which I am actually doing soon and I do want my tongue split. You might run into me in 10 years’ time and I will probably have at least half of those things done. I always get questioned for my decisions and every single time, I just reply with ‘because I like it.’ I like the way these things look, just in the same way that you think a spray tan or fake nails or blonde hair looks. You think it looks nice, that it looks beautiful; well that’s how I feel about heavier modifications.

Graymare is not unpredictable. Neither are her crystal checks. It’s all very clearly outlined in the KB she so painstakingly made, and that no one seems to bother reading and understanding.

The new system has been in place for nearly a year now, get used to it. It was created as a direct response to artists trying to twist the bases to make them things they aren’t, and getting TOO creative on their edits.

Things people don’t seem to realize when looking at edits:

  • Earwings count as coverage. All of it. Yes, even the bit that is the ‘base’ ear. Because it’s no longer an ear. All it does is help lineart coverage. This goes the same for other things like reusing tail lines within an edited tail.
  • Edits not taking up over 75% isn’t enough, you have to keep 25% of the original lineart, even if it’s buried in the edits.
  • Heavy body mods will carry modifiers and severely reduce your edit coverage left. This is to avoid the base creature no longer being recognizable. This is mainly about Taurs, but taurs doesn’t just mean centaurs, it also means adding a new ‘body’ to a base (like turning a reve into a griffin)
  • Old designs were grandfathered into the new system. That means many old designs that passed as blue/gold under Skitty would NOT pass as such now, but Gray honors the old rulings to make things fair.

I am really sick of seeing people bash Graymare, when she’s been a boon to the site and how customs work. She singlehandedly created a system that is learnable and enforceable by others, meaning we’ll get some helpers too, and if she should disappear, the system can work without her, something we didn’t have with Skitty.

And just a FYI, there was a call for helpers. And I believe there were less than a handful. I’m severely disappointed that for all the talk about ‘we need helpers’ less than five people actually seemed interested in becoming those helpers we so sorely need.

So blame yourselves for that one, everyone likes to whine about wait times on crystal check, but no one wants to actually HELP solve the issue.
