Photos from Turpan, the ruins of Jiaohe and the Heavenly Lake. One of the things I really like about Xinjiang are all the street bakeries, which are all set up to make naan bread. In one of the photos above you can see a father and son making naan bread together. The dough is shaped and then put into a vertical oven, with burning coal at the bottom. The dough is slapped onto the wall of the oven to bake. It tastes amazing!
