heaven lies at mothers feet

🔸We have enjoined on man kindness to his parents; in pain did his mother bear him, and in pain did she give him birth (46:15)

🔸Thy Lord hath decreed that ye worship none but Him, and that ye be kind to parents. Whether one or both of them attain old age in thy life, say not to them a word of contempt, nor repel them, but address them in terms of honor. And out of kindness, lower to them the wing of humility, and say: ‘My Lord! bestow on them Thy Mercy even as they cherished me in childhood’ (17:23-24)

🔹The Prophet ﷺ said: Your Heaven lies under the feet of your mother (Ahmad)

🔹A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, ‘O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet said: Your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your father. (Bukhari)

🔹Abu Usaid Saidi said: We were once sitting with Rasulullah ﷺ when a man from the tribe of Salmah came and said to him: O Messenger of Allah! do my parents have rights over me even after they have died? And Rasulullah said: Yes. You must pray to Allah to bless them with His Forgiveness and Mercy, fulfill the promises they made to anyone, and respect their relations and their friends (Ibn Majah)

🔹The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The major sins are to believe that Allah has partners, to disobey one’s parents, to commit murder, and to bear false witness (Bukhari)

can you tell me about your experience with Islam as a women specifically? so often all I hear of is the abuse and controlling husbands, but I know that can't be everyone's experience. if you're not comfortable discussing it that's fine, I don't want you to feel like you have to validate your faith to anyone

The religion of Islam demands that women be treated with respect, honour, and justice. It condemns oppression of any kind.

Women in Islam have the right to own property, to control their own money to buy and sell, and to give gifts and charity. It is not permissible for anyone to take a woman’s wealth without her consent (including her husband)

Islam gave women formal rights of inheritance.

Women in Islam have the right to an education; seeking and acquiring knowledge is an obligation on all Muslims, male or female.

Muslim women have the right to accept or refuse marriage proposals as they see fit, and married women are completely free from the obligation of supporting and maintaining the family.

Working married women are free to contribute to the household expenses, or not, as they see fit. Women have the right to seek divorce if it becomes necessary.

Muhammad (pbuh) treated his wives with the utmost respect and honor and was never abusive towards them. One of his traditions clearly states, “The best of you are those who are best to their wives.”

In the Quran, God mentions all the sacrifices mothers make in bearing children to remind people to treat their mothers with love, respect, and care. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, “Heaven lies under the feet of your mother" to emphasise their importance.

I had to research into this question for you. But the abusive relationships isn’t an islamic issue, its a stereotype stemming from culture; not islam.

Prophet Muhammad said: “Only an honorable man treat women with honor and integrity. And only a mean, deceitful and dishonest man humiliates and insults women.” Referring to physical abuse, he added: “Never hit your wives, they are your partners and sincere helpers.” He exemplified this by never, ever, hitting a women or child. The Prophet guaranteed protection of the life, honor, and property of women.

I hope this helped. Message me if you have any more questions.

I find it funny that white nonmuslim men who have never been female or worn a hijab complain that females who wear the hijab are oppressed because their religion is oppressive towards females. but then they call a girl a slut if she shows off her body.

i kr?

and when Islam first came, muslim women were some of the first women to have heritage rights, to have a right to get the same jobs as men, to fight in the wars if they wanted to, etc

one of the most religious men back then went to the prophet complaining that his wife was angry at him! like how dare she wtf??? and the prophet was like she has every right to be mad at you

and he also said that the best of mankind are those who are best to their wives

and he said that heaven lies under the feet of your mother

and a man came to the Prophet and said, ‘Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship? The Prophet said: Your mother. The man said, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man further asked, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your mother. The man asked again, ‘Then who?’ The Prophet said: Then your father.

not to mention the verses in the Quran which discuss how to God, men and women are equal in his eyes, and what matters is how they worship him.

I could go on…

anyways, these people clearly live off the stereotypes they sadly see all over their news and they decide they have every right to fight the religion with its stereotypes.

and bless that last line. If you cover yourself, you’re a prude, you’re oppressed. If you show your body, you’re a slut.

like.
