Ryan Van Sickle and Heather Fay Live in New York City.

I had the pleasure of attending an incredible concert last week at the Living Room on the Lower East Side in New York City which was also attended by many other wonderful people from Google Plus some of whom had just met each other in person for the first time earlier that day as part of the a whirlwind weekend of adventures.

I had heard the music of both Ryan Van Sickle and Heather Fay in various On Air Hangouts prior to the concert but nothing prepared me for how intense of an experience it would be to see them both perform live in person. I am completely and utterly baffled as to how they aren’t already superstars!

They put on a really wonderful show. Both of them sing with so much raw emotion. Ryan Van Sickle ’s album ‘Ghosts of the Brokenhearted’ is fantastic (Shadowlands is one of my favorites on there!) and can be found here on Google Music Android Market here. You can view a touching performance of one of his songs here: Ryan Van Sickle- When We Were Young

Heather Fay ’s voice is so beautiful live. It flows effortlessly. She actually performed an amazing cover of Michael Jackson’s Thriller last week which I loved. You can view another performance of it here: Heather Fay- Thriller (Michael Jackson Cover). She also is maybe as much of a fangirl of Tom Waits as I am which makes her golden in my book!

These are just a few of the photos I took of their concert last week. They played prior to Daria Musk ’s set (her photos are coming up later tonight or tomorrow!). You can view the full set here:

MORGAN LE FAY ALPHABET - Mordred

Hush, child, the darkness will rise from the deep, and carry you down into sleep…

Guileless son, I’ll shape your belief, and you’ll always know that your father’s a thief! And you won’t understand the cause of your grief, but you’ll always follow the voices beneath: loyalty, loyalty, loyalty only to me.

Guileless son, your spirit will hate her, the flower who married my brother, the traitor. And you will expose his puppet behaviour, for you are the proof of how he betrayed her loyalty…

Guileless son, each day you grow older, each moment I’m watching my vengeance unfold. For the child of my body, the flesh of my soul, will die returning the birthright he stole.

(Mordred’s lullaby -  Heather Dale)

“Mordred,” I whispered, “ That is your name, and this – all this will be your kingdom.” – Tintagel

My son was given the name I had fixed in my mind on the night of his conception, Mordred”  – I, Morgain

“The following weeks went by tortuously. I began to truly regret inviting Morgause to Brandegor … my happy dreams for Mordred’s future and my delight in having him for my own all disappeared under one banner: jealousy. Morgause only did come once a week, but I was jealous of every minute she held Mordred, and when she was away I held up every little infantile achievement of his – that she did not see – as a defense against her.” - Tintagel

“Now I can take care of you. Like you did me.”  – Mordred (Merlin BBC)

“Mordred, his son and mine, stood face to face, ignorant of their kinship, to draw each other’s blood in their fight to the death. In a circle made by some wounded, exhausted warriors, Arthur and Mordred stood and thrust and chopped at each other.”  – I, Morgain

Mordred (…) My sister’s son, my brother’s son, and he didn’t much resemble a king, not yet. I pressed him a little closer to me. He wouldn’t remember Morgause and he wouldn’t know Arthur … he would only know me.” – Tintagel

“The prophecies speak of an alliance of Mordred and Morgana. United in evil.” - Kilgharra (Merlin BBC)

“ ‘Lady Morgaine, is sir Mordred your son? I never knew you had a son-’ Morgaine said steadily, ‘I was very young when he was born, and Morgause fostered him. I had come near to forgetting it myself’.”  – The Mists of Avalon

“I had succeeded at long last – it did not matter to me what the outcome of the battle would be or who died or lived. I cared only for Mordred – that he would survive and live to be king.” – Tintagel

“I was wrong to ever question your wisdom, my lady. And I wish to make amends”  – Sir Mordred (Merlin BBC)

Check out our Featured Artist of the Day, Heather Fay! Here are three things you may not know about her:

I LOVE coffee.  I drink coffee on my way to the coffee shop to get a cup of coffee.

I carry at least 3 full bottles of Purell with me at all times. (becoming a Mom turned me into a complete germaphobe.) I co-wrote my very first song at the age of 11 with my best friend Felicia. (no one will EVER hear it.  It was embarrassingly terrible.)
