SOMEONE HOLD ME PLEASE!!!!

A couple thoughts about Ghost...

1. I think Ty being stuck in the hospital was supposed to go with Ghost’s story. Amy said Ty was going stir-crazy. Then, she told Georgie that Ghost hated being cooped up. So Georgie holding Ghost against his will, was like the hospital holding Ty against his will.

2. Georgie was concerned that Ghost was lonely. Amy should have told her- he’s not alone, he has a family. I doubt Georgie would have tried taming him if she knew she was taking him away from his own little horse family (who I believe are still around, but just weren’t coming too close Heartland).

My Thoughts: Season 10 Finale

(Cross-posted to the Heartland on CBC Facebook page.)

This episode gets a solid 7 out of 10 from me. Like the strawberry jam recipe of Mrs. Bell’s they were once trying to re-create, the finale was good, but not great.

There were no real surprises other than whether Amy and Ty would be having a girl or a boy. I found the “Ty has to stay put until he sees a specialist” wholly unnecessary and a bit of a contrivance, since we knew he was going to be present for the baby’s birth. No need to create mystery where there was none in the first place.

Discrepancy

It seems like the vast majority of the Facebook crowd loved the finale. Meanwhile, the Tumblr crowd aren’t quite so enamoured. This discrepancy intrigues me.

Knowing how I felt about the episode (and how I try to temper my opinions when I express them), I expected other people’s opinions on FB to be more harsh. While I don’t share the highly positive reactions I’ve been reading, I do admit to being pleasantly surprised folks like “Greater Expectations” so much.

Maybe all those happy people were really wanting was just to see Amy and Ty together back home at Heartland, welcoming their baby. Maybe once they got that, nothing else mattered.
