I wish that seeing your body motivated ed sufferers to choose a healthier lifestyle, but I don't think that's the case. What are your thoughts on someone starving themselves to look like you? That's what I meant. Some don't realize that it won't work, but try anyway.

As you see, I constantly make it clear that to get my body, starving won’t work, since that is not how my figure has been achieved and maintained for so long. If after me constantly mentioning this, taking time out myself to mention ed sufferers that I see comment on my photos and tell and educate them about how I have achieved my body and how starving won’t work, constantly preaching about healthy living on my blog, and they STILL continue to follow something that won’t give them the sustainable slim figure they’re going for, I can’t do much more. You can only help someone so much until it gets to the point where someone has to make the decision to help themselves. 

i’m not sure what asking me this is trying to accomplish for you, are you trying to make me feel bad?  Because now that’s what this is seeming like it is.

Everything I preach, and the time I take out of my day to respond to every ask I get and specifically go out of my way to message people who haven’t even messaged me but I see they are falling victim to unhealthy habits, is with good intentions and I go above and beyond what I need to, specifically to promote healthy living, REALITY, and to help people.

What have you done? What is sh****** on others accomplishing? Nothing besides negativity and showing your lack of hope for people, maybe including yourself.  

I am going to continue promoting healthy living and showing people this is the only way for a slim sustainable figure, because that is simply the truth. Starving either literally leads to death or binging and gaining all of the weight back. This is facts. 

Again: You can only help someone so much until it gets to the point where someone has to make the decision to help themselves. 

some self-care/mental health tips for the upcoming school year

with school coming soon or already starting for some people i figured i’d share some of my tips for a healthier lifestyle. i know in the past i’ve struggled so much with being good to myself once school starts, both mentally, emotionally, and physically!

keep a clean room 

i know how hard this is. i’m absolutely awful at it, even in the summer but it really makes the biggest difference. coming home to a mess when your life is already stressful and messy enough just makes things worse. i know when i have a clean space i’m way more productive and at peace with my situation.

take a break from social media

just doing this every once in awhile makes the hugest difference. social media is a wonderful world but it’s easy to get caught up in how everyone is doing things without you or having more fun or how someone’s prettier or whatever. it’s not worth it. i’ve learned that just deleting the apps for even a few hours can make my mental state 10x better. it’s important to realize that while people are out doing things all the time, you can never be as fun as all the 162 people you follow combined.

don’t be afraid to invite people out

one of the biggest things i struggle with is being social, simply because i overthink inviting people to do things with me too much and just wait to be invited by someone else instead. remember that even if someone says they can’t do something, it’s not the end of the world. at least you opened up a possibility!!! by being someone who invites others to do things, people will feel more appreciated and like you actually want to hang out with them! but also always save time for yourself as well!

create a self-care routine with motivation

by giving yourself some type of reward to wash your face, brush your teeth and shower, such as only watching your favorite tv show afterwards, it will feel a bit easier to accomplish the tasks that seem simple but can be terribly hard, especially if you suffer from depression. i’ve learned that combining things into one task also makes it easier, such as once you get in the shower, do everything. wash your face, brush your teeth, shave, all in the shower. it makes self-care so much easier.

get outside, stay out of bed

laying in bed is the best thing ever, i know, but it can be so easy to get in there and never get out. this is my biggest bad habit. i feel more productive even just sitting on the couch. my bed is like a black hole of lost motivation. go outside for twenty minutes a day if you can. sunlight makes things a little better and staying inside all day does nothing for you.

do one thing that scares you everyday, big or small.

i’m someone who has struggled with social anxiety for years now, but i’m slowly getting better because i’m making a conscious (and very terrifying effort) everyday. this won’t work for everyone, i know, but it’s helped me a little bit. i try to challenge myself everyday to do one thing that scares me, whether it’s asking someone to do something after school or agreeing to get coffee with a friend you’re not super close to yet, or even just making conversation with someone next to me in class. don’t push yourself too far but don’t make zero effort either.

cut the negative language/mindset

anytime you have a negative thought find a reverse positive. even saying “i’m not happy with how my hair looks but my ass looks great in these jeans” is better than saying “i look awful today”. stop the constant internal bullying! think of it this way, if your best friend said the things you say to yourself, how would you feel? you’re your own best friend, so cut the shit! compliment yourself like you do your best friend. complimenting myself and finding things i find beautiful on my own body even once a day has increased my confidence exponentially. a negative language towards yourself leads to a negative mindset.

find someone who motivates you

if you need motivation to work out, study, anything, find a buddy. having someone to do things with and hold you accountable makes a world of difference. this summer i got together with a friend and made a deal that we would work out 2-3 times a week. it worked so much better than if i had just made that goal for myself because she was always there to text me to ask to workout when we needed to but i lacked the desire. and i did the same for her. now we actually both got a job at a gym together this fall and are working out consistently because we have that mutual  accountability with each other! plus just having someone you enjoy seeing makes doing the hard task more fun!

accept your individuality

you don’t need to look like society’s ideal of beautiful. there’s millions of types of flowers, and just because one kind is pretty to someone, does that make all the others ugly? no. there’s tons of species of dogs too and they all look totally different. is a poodle ugly just because a golden retriever is cute? NO. your individuality is you. everyone is beautiful in the very own unique way. don’t try to look like someone ellse. your beauty is not measured by how perfect your features are. 

drink some fucking water

and eat some food too

understand that a bad week doesn’t mean a bad life

we’re all going to go through those weird ass time periods where it feels like everything sucks and nothing can go right. accept that although it’s pretty bad right now, it won’t be forever.

My Reasons for Losing Weight

For My Health

  • To have better skin
  • So I don’t sweat profusely
  • So I can walk up a flight of stairs and not feel out of breath
  • So my back won’t hurt
  • So my knee won’t hurt 
  • So my doctor will never say, “you really need to lose some weight” to me ever again
  • So I don’t have to worry about arthritis or other illnesses that accompany obesity

For Vanity

  • To feel better about myself
  • To look good in tight clothes
  • To be able to wear shorts in the summer
  • To be able to go into any store, and buy the clothes I like, not just the ones that fit
  • To not feel awkward about going clothes shopping or shoe shopping
  • To be able to order clothes from a catalogue without worrying if they will fit
  • To be able to wear something that doesn’t say PLUS on it
  • So my pants won’t wear out between my legs while the rest of them are still in good shape
  • So I can look in the mirror from the neck down and like what I see
  • So I can wear tight jeans
  • I want to wear underwear that looks sexy
  • So I can show off my legs
  • So I can go into public and not feel like people are judging me
  • So I can wear tops without worrying about the dents from my bra showing trough
  • So that my boobs stick out more than my stomach – not the other way around

For a Better Quality of Life

  • To be able to use a public toilets comfortably
  • I want to be able to read the scale by just looking down, straight down
  • So I don’t get those indents on my thighs from the arms of the chair I’m sitting in
  • So I can cross my legs
  • So I can get up from the floor in one smooth move and not a grab and hold on to something move
  • So I can sit on a bar stool and I’m actually sitting ON it, not on it and around it too
  • So a regular towel goes all the way around me 
  • So my socks pull all the way up
  • So I can hug my knees to my chest again, and it’s comfortable
  • So I can fit into the cinema/stadium/airplane seats comfortably
  • So I can bend over comfortably to tie my shoes

For My Self-esteem

  • So I can go swimming without being self-conscious
  • So I don’t worry about chairs breaking
  • So I don’t have to ask for the additional seat belt on an airplane
  • So I can dance without being self-conscious
  • So I can go on rides at amusement parks again and not have to experience the embarrassment of having to get off because I don’t fit
  • So I don’t have to worry about the maximum weight before I using things
  • So I don’t feel awkward when people start talking about losing weight
  • So no one can ever call me “a big girl” ever again
  • So I’m not embarrassed to have my picture taken
  • So I can say my weight out loud
  • So furniture doesn’t groan when I sit on it, or wear out long before it should because I’m too heavy

“Being overweight isn’t very healthy. Its far better to be within a healthy weight range. There are many risks that come from being overweight the more overweight you get. This, along with healthy ways to live a healthier lifestyle, should be taught and encouraged.”

Detail reminders for drawing pjo/hoo:

  • all demigods have scars, draw them
  • there’s a difference between trade scars which can be added per drawing and by how much combat the character is likely to have seen (ie Nico has tons of scars, Clarisse and Annabeth have a fair few, where as Drew and Will probably don’t have as many), and distinctive scars which are noted in the books and can help identify a character. distinctive scars include:
    • Jason has a scar on his lip (from trying to eat a stapler when he was a baby)
    • Hylla has a scar across her forehead (from dueling for her and Reyna’s freedom from the pirates)
    • as of boo Nico has claw scars across his upper arms, probably starting at his shoulders (from killing Lycaon)
    • Luke has a scar down the side of his face (from a quest to get an apple I think, I don’t remember)
  • Other injuries that probably left scars:
    • it’s possible both Percy and Sally have scars from Gabe
    • Percy’s encounter with the pit scorpion at the end of tlt, on his palm
    • the ship exploding in som probably gave Tyson quite a few scars

    • anyone in the battle of manhattan probably got a few scars from it
    • Gwen getting stabbed through the chest with a pilum during the war games in son, probably on her upper chest with a matching scar slightly lower on her back
    • Hazel’s death, though oil killed her she did die in a cave in and even though she got a new body her scars may have carried over
    • Nico’s trek through tartarus
    • when Cupid shot Nico in the shoulder with one of his arrows
    • Percy and Annabeth’s trek through tartarus
    • Percy and Annabeth’s encounter with the Arai (the curses of their enemies)
    • when Jason got stabbed from behind at the beginning of boo, on his abdomen both front and back
    • the gash on the side of Annabeth’s neck at the end of boo

  • Clarisse, Will, the Stolls, and other campers who are assumed to have been there before Percy probably have a similar amount

  • Nico’s necklace has anywhere from one to three beads on it, depending on whether or not they gave him ones for his aid in the battle of the labyrinth (probably not) and the battle of manhattan (more likely since he stayed for a while after)
  • both Nico and Reyna have rings that they twist when they’re anxious/thinking, Nico’s is the shape of a skull and Reyna’s has the symbol of Bellona and is most likely a seal ring
  • Frank’s bow and quiver can turn into a backpack
  • Frank spends the majority of their journey in pants that are too small for him because Leo’s an asshole (he loses his extra pants to Leo’s bullying in moa and they go clothes shopping for him in boo)
  • added onto that, Frank spends a while after his transformation in hoh in clothes that don’t fit until they get him new ones in boo
  • Leo has pointy elfish ears
  • both Percy and Leo are described as having lopsided, troublemaker grins
  • Nico is described as having dark bags under his eyes and looking sickly, and post moa is described as extremely malnourished (though this seems to be slowly getting better by the end of boo)
  • the longer the books go on the tanner Jason gets and the lighter his hair gets
  • Jason grew up on the coast of CA and probably can’t handle weather or anything under 68° F without many layers
  • Reyna’s cape is purple and glimmers gold in the light as of Athena’s blessing near the end of boo
  • Percy’s eyes are sea green
  • Hazel’s eyes are gold
  • Piper’s eyes change colour
  • Annabeth’s eyes are stormy gray
  • Jason and Thalia’s eyes are electric blue
  • don’t let the official art constrain your character designs

Using MYSELF as mid-week motivation.

If you’re adopting a healthier lifestyle, please don’t get discouraged after a damn week.

You need to be patient and remember this is a slow, steady process and your body needs time to adjust.

You can’t expect it to change immediately after delivering an eviction notice to whatever it is you’re trying to change.

You’ve spent “x” number of years in your current body.

This shit doesn’t happen overnight or in a week.

Just keep working at it.

And whatever you do, do it for yourself.

All right, next up in the saga of Renee is that she and her wonderful partner have decided to go vegetarian! Or in my case, piscatarian, but that’s only because I eat most of my meals at work, and probably won’t have the means to be full vegetarian. We are SO excited to start this! I know personally I am ready to feel healthier and not feel bloated and uncomfortable most of the day, and to hopefully lose this weight that’s been dragging me down for YEARS. So, ready set go!
