Lucy’s Dragon

I watched Pete’s Dragon (2016), so, y’know how it goes.  AU idea.

The Lanes are moving after the Gen (prob not a general yet, but whatever) gets new duty orders.  They decide, for whatever reason, to drive across the country, make a road trip out of it.

The car crashes.

Just off of a scenic route, six-year-old Lucy climbs out of the destroyed car and into a thunder storm.

She understands the concept of death, ever since her grandfather and dog died in the same month the previous year.  She understands that her mother and father and sister aren’t moving and there’s a lot of blood and they’re probably dead.  She understands that she is alone.

Alone, and scared, and hurt, and the storm is getting worse.

She runs into the forest.

Years later (the exact amount tbt, the movie has it at six, but I dunno) the DEO starts to gather reports of potential alien activity in the Nebraska National Forest.  J’onn, Vasquez, Vasquez’s wife, Erin, and recently orphaned Alex and (re-orphaned) Kara move to the town closest to the activity.  J’onn and Vasquez are undercover with whatever agency makes the most sense for the mission.

(why the girls are with them will be figured out at a later date, maybe nobody else can be trusted with a pre-teen Kryptonian who just lost her second set of parents)

Alex and Kara go to the local school, where Alex becomes quick friends with Maggie.

Maggie, whose father is one of the loggers who keeps reporting activity.  Maggie who lives with her forest ranger aunt after her father kicked her out.  (Maggie who nearly cries when she meets Vasquez and Erin, queer and happy and married and in love).

but can you imagine one day Maggie being so happy/excited about something that she shouts it to Alex while she runs up to her like she did in the bar with the tickets, full-blown smile on but instead of stopping she just throws herself at her girlfriend & Alex catches her in her arms & spins her around, both of them laughing & being so happy together

you know a thing I’ve had in my head for a while is like, I noticed that out of the Destiny Island Trio and the Wayfinder Trio, Terra and Riku were alike in the sense that they had issues with their darkness, which isn’t anything new. But alongside that, I also noticed that they were the oldest within their trio and that got me thinking like…

Kairi’s Grandmother’s story mentions that light survived in the hearts of children (which we now know are the keykids who survived the KEyblade War), so what if like…children are more likely to have an abundance of light within their hearts? Like, the darkness is still there, but the light is just more prominent at that stage in life.

Now as they get older, that darkness starts to make itself known, so there’s an adjustment within the heart to keep a balance (it’s alllll normal, nothing wrong with that). It’s just…not everyone has an easy time through this stage of life and that balance kinda differs from person to person (it’s like puberty, shit happens and you’re either fine or ready to throw yourself down a flight of stairs). Pair that up with negative attitudes with darkness and you’ve got yourselves a situation like Terra’s or Riku’s (or if you wanna go about it a different way, you have Master Xehanort and Eraqus and Xehanort is kinda the oldest out of the two of them).

So with that in mind, apply that to the keykids, who are likely to come in various ages (still within the range to be considered children by adults). No two keykids are the same, so when that process starts to happen, you can only imagine the sorts of issues that will pop up and of course, you’ll likely have some keykids who are especially vulnerable…

And vulnerable keykids make for easy targets, which can result in the creation of Darklings. So basically Darklings are keykids (older keykids especially) who were having issues with their darkness and had little to no guidance on how to deal with it, resulting in their untimely demises.

Gon or chocorobo-chan who's your bff,? =w=

Look, it should be clear that there’s a distinct difference between my best friend and the love of my life. Gon’s my best friend…

Also the best friend who happens to wear my clothes as pajamas and steal my pillow when he goes to sleep, I guess.

he once forged a ring in fire,
and he broke elendil’s sword.
now we all must try to stop him,
so we’re heading for mordor.

I thought I was gonna die.
Not while I’m around.

I like to imagine that T.Jeff and J.Mad are absolutely convinced that Hamilton and Burr were lovers

because in “Washington on your side” they’re badmouthing Hamilton and then Burr is like

Look in his eyes !

Like ok, that might merits a raised eyebrow but in the context it’s not that weird right ?

and then 6 lines later Burr says

Somebody has to stand up to his mouth !

and yeah at that point Madison and Jefferson just kind of exchange that dubious but knowing look … but whatever right ? who cares if Burr is doing this because he’s mad at his lover, he’s still helping them to sabotage Hamilton so all’s good

(also in the musical ppl who have feelings for Hamilton like to talk about his beautiful eyes and his eloquence … just throwing that .. out .. there)

and tbh it’s not like Burr is somehow going to prove their assumption wrong since he’s pretty passionately obsessed about Hamilton at that point so …

AND THEN “We know” happens and oh boy

T.Jeff’s “Whaaaat” is not really because he’s surprised at Hamilton’s cheating (since he already think Burr and Hamilton were/are lovers) but because Hamilton is admitting to having another affair and he’s doing it by having his  other lover read the incriminating letter

My god! indeed

also T.Jeff and J.Mad are still in the room (or near enough they’ll hear) when Hamilton asks if Burr will reveal what he said and they probably hear Burr cryptic  answer

Alexander, rumors only grow. And we both
Know what we know

Which kind of sound like he’s referencing something he personally experienced. He’s probably talking about Theodosia and the rumors about their relationship - but it could be interpreted differently by T.Jeff and J.Mad (come on like there’s not at least one rumor that the two are together ?)

(honestly the whole thing is pretty entertaining to them and whenever Burr’s not there they like to gossip about it)

So in “The Election of 1800″ when Jefferson says

Hey, Burr, when you see Hamilton, thank him for the endorsement

He’s being a total asshole and basically telling him “Hey Burr when you see your lover next thank him for choosing me -his sworn enemy- over you !”

He’s probably not that surprised when he hears that Burr shot Hamilton - it was bound to end badly

(although Madison was kind of rooting for them and he’s very disappointed - and not just because he has to honor the bet and pay Jefferson - i mean yeah it wasn’t exactly a healthy relationship but they had potential, POTENTIAL THOMAS)

it’s funnier if the only thing between Hamilton and Burr was unresolved feeling and/or sexual tension covered up by a shit-ton of annoyance and irritation toward each other

Alec 100% notices how Magnus rubs his fingers together when he’s nervous or unsure so whenever he sees him do it, he reaches out and intertwines their fingers and gently squeezes his hand and Magnus just instantly relaxes and pulls Alec a little closer to him

If you actually like Nathan Ford, please reblog this post!

Sorry, I just learned that apparently the entire Leverage fandom doesn’t like/hates him and believes that the show should be all about dat OT3 and I’m just… I don’t understand it. I honestly don’t understand how people could be so blind to his contributions and character development. And for goodness sake, he’s the dad of that OT3 you ship so much!
