head out takes

She was so grateful for the nice walk with a break in the middle for shade and clean cool water afterward that she trampled me on the beanbag to give me a limp-faced, floppy, flobberwormy-slobbery smooch. She had to hunt a little bit for my face considering my evasive maneuvers, too.

They actually played this song and it’s forever stuck in my head

A loved one not lost but remembered.

What is a legacy? It’s planting seeds in a garden you never get to see.

How to Break In a New Tarot Deck

Most decks have the same standard 78 cards, but every deck is still a little different! The art, the energy, each new one can take a little getting used to. So here are some ways to do it!

Deck Interview spreads. These are really popular, so let’s go ahead and get them out of the way. There are tons of spreads available online that answer questions like, “What is your energy?” “What are your strengths as a deck?” “What kind of questions do you have trouble with?” “What can I learn from using you?” You can also just make your own! But doing a practice reading and getting the deck to say a little about itself can be very handy.

Look at it. Seriously, give it a good hard look. Spend some time on every card, seeing how the art makes you feel and what small details may support or enhance the meaning. The art will take a more nuanced approach or interpretation of the card beyond the few general keywords. For example, does the “Death” card focus more on the ending, or the renewal? Does the end look bitter?

Carry it around. Put it in your bag when you head out. Take it with you on trips. Even if you don’t plan on using it, have it on hand… just in case. Share memories with it, bond with it. Get comfortable with the presence of it.

Use it! Naturally! Eventually, you’re going to have to use it to break it in. You can’t break in shoes if you never walk in them. While I’m still getting used to the nuances of a deck, I won’t use them for my big complicated spreads right away, but I might use them for little things until I feel like I can use it for ones that take more brain power. Even if you’re an experienced reader, it’s okay to not jump in head first with complicated stuff on a brand new set of cards. There’s no rush!

I know you don’t like what you see
But I’m not going back to how I used to be

Gladiolus

  • It would honestly take a little while for the two of you to find out how it is the most comfortable for you both to sleep. Mostly because Gladio is so large that he takes up most of the bed.
  • There would be several occasions that you would fall out of bed and would hit the ground with a thud loud enough to wake Gladio. He would apologise profusely whilst he got to work covering all your sore spots with plasters and bandages.
  • In the end, Gladio would happily have you pulled over his body like you were his duvet. The blankets would be thrown to the ground forgotten and you would straddle his form, sleeping soundly for the first time in a long time.
  • It works out because Gladio doesn’t really move around too much in his sleep, there would maybe be one occasion where in his sleep the large man would roll over and crush you but it would take a couple of your sharp nails sunk into his form to finally wake him up.
  • Not really a surprise that Gladio runs a pretty warm temperature all the time, sometimes it would make it impossible for you both to sleep, sometimes just opting to sleep away from each other – no sleep doesn’t make a good warrior, although Gladio does miss you sleeping beside him.

Ignis

  • Ignis is always the big spoon. Holding you close to his body and pressing his face into your back. The only time that Ignis really sleeps soundly is when you are by his side because only then he knows that you are safe and well.
  • It takes a long time for Ignis to warm up, so expect lots of blankets even on an incredibly warm night. Usually, if you’re suffering from the heat Ignis is willing to throw a blanket or two away and even leave a window open if you’re very lucky.
  • Although he doesn’t look like he would be too much of a comfortable body to sleep beside Ignis is actually very soft and comfortable, wonderful and comforting to have his arms wrapped around you.
  • Unfortunately, you will always wake up the next morning and Ignis will already be gone leaving you alone in a cold bed. Usually making breakfast for everyone and if you are really lucky and stay in bed long enough he will bring a very full plate to you whilst humming to wake you up.
  • If you are lucky enough to actually wake up before Ignis you had to have the very rare pleasure of seeing the handsome man without his glasses on. Squinting his eyes as he looks at you, but still complimenting you for you beautiful morning glow. Always finding a way to make you blush.

Noctis

  • Before the two of you fall asleep Noctis would spend a lot of time getting the bed ready whilst you would get yourself ready for bed. The Prince spent a lot of time in bed and knew just how to have the pillows and the sheets so that you would both sleep peacefully through the night.
  • If the two of you stay up late playing King’s Knight it certainly matters how competitive the two of you get during the game as it is all dependant on if you two will sleep together facing each other, or facing away from each other. Gladio will call you both a couple of kids and just laugh at your petty attitudes.
  • It will be almost impossible to wake up Noctis in the morning, but you’ll be the only one who knows the right way to wake him up. The only time that the Prince will be happy to wake up is when it’s you there to greet him.
  • Noctis enjoys sleeping on his back and he does snore slightly, sometimes he’ll even mutter things in his sleep, things that are playing on his mind worrying him deeply which often keeps you up at night too. Sometimes it seemed like nothing bothered Noct but others it seemed like the world was weighing on his shoulders.
  • On the very rare occasion that Noctis is up and about before you. He spends time getting everyone ready for you both to head out. At first, it takes him a long time but the more time you spend together the more expert that Noctis gets about it. Noct is a quick learner.

Prompto

  • There is no doubt that Prompto is a little spoon. Wrap the little blonde up in your arms and keep him warm and safe at night. Whether it be in a bed in a hotel, or both of you wrapped up in the same sleeping bag, you have both your arms and legs wrapped around his toned form and he adores it.
  • It really depends on what type of mood that Prompto is in, but usually, you’ll wake up to a camera in your face whilst Prompto is trying to get the best candid shot of you sleeping, usually very disappointed when your eyes finally flutter open and look at him with confusion.
  • Once the blond is finally up, you usually find it hard to sleep because Prompto is very impatient wanting nothing more than to speak to you about meaningless things: I wonder what the rest of the boys are doing now. I wonder what we’re going to do today. I wonder what’s for breakfast.
  • Sometimes you’ll hear Prompto speaking in his sleep, most of the time it is unintelligible but sometimes it is some kind of nightmare that makes you worry, shaking Prompto until he finally wakes up in a cold sweat. As usual, you wrap your arms around him and cradle the poor boy until he finally falls asleep.
  • As the two of you are falling asleep you will both talk abut meaningless little things, giggling and laughing at little jokes. Just spending some time winding down together after a long day, holding each other close and just enjoying each others company wondering how you had got so lucky.

Want to Request Something?

College Boy

Pairing: Y/N and Harry

Word Count: 1311

Prompt: Harry wants a shot at a normal life so he attends Northeastern University, but it’s harder than he thinks. The friends he made just want fame, and the other hardly look at him. But then he meets her, Y/N, and she wants nothing to do with the a-list celebrity.

Cole and Dylan Sprouse did it, Emma Watson, Amy Pohler, they all went to college, and Harry wanted to as well. He wanted the experience of something normal for once, he wanted to be able to say he graduated, he wanted his family to come to a graduation. When the news broke out everyone went crazy trying to figure out where he was going, and Harry got accepted everywhere. But he wanted to succeed he wanted to go to a school he knew was right from him, which was far from Harvard, but it also wasn’t community college. He wanted a roommate, he wanted to live in a dorm, attend the dreadful eight ams, and have RA’s. So he picked Northeastern University, still the top best, but no Harvard.

Harry was thankful for his roommate, Nick. Nick didn’t care at all about who Harry was. Nick spent most of his time in the library or in the room studying, he hardly spoke to Harry. Nick had a plan, two years at Northeastern and then Harvard. Nick made it clear that he didn’t want parties or girls coming in and out every night and Harry promised he would be as normal as possible, but Nick just scoffed.

It wasn’t easy for Harry and he wondered how everyone else did it. Students watched him, took pictures, videos, whispered, they just kept following him around, and Harry hated it. He found it difficult to make friends, the ones he did make wanted fame, and the other kept away. He couldn’t seem to find someone who wanted to actually sit and talk with him.

Nick had been holding a study group in their room so Harry grabbed his bag and made his way to the library. It was quiet and as soon as he walked in he saw a couple phones point his way. He huffed and made his way to the back where there were small cubicles. He pulled a chair back and pulled out his laptop. Texts from Jeff and Nick quickly popped up.

Nick: How’s the college life, join a frat yet?

Jeff: Do you miss the studio yet?

Nick: I love you but this is just insane why are you doing this?

“If I ask nicely, will you do it?”

it looks up. You never noticed that it makes noises. The last time you saw it, face to face (skies, blood, fragments, fear or no fear), you didn’t notice the noise.

The noise alone is overwhelming: it’s not even auditory anymore. It’s just vibration, humming, deep in everything around you, deep in you. It goes through everything.

it doesn’t answer just yet.

part 1 part 3

————————

You ran a shaky hand through your hair as you tossed an over-sized sweatshirt in your backpack for tonight. Try as you may, you couldn’t shake the feeling that you recognized the man behind the Spider-man mask. When he touched you, it was the same electric feeling you got when someone else touched you, but you couldn’t figure out who. You frantically checked your watch and saw that it was 5:15. Shoot, if you don’t leave soon you’ll be late.

You zipped the bag hastily and slung it over your back, weaving around the bed and through your decorated door. As you got into your living room you dug around in the cupboard to find a pen and notepad and wrote out a note to your parents that you would be with Peter and Ned, and to call you or May if they needed you. Your parents were hardly around with your father being a surgeon and your mother being a flight attendant and since you’ve know Peter since you were 3 and in preschool together, they just kind of trusted him and Aunt May to take care of you.

Images of the fight flashed across your mind, red and blue, webs everywhere, and heat causing your face to flush and hands to sweat. You didn’t want it to ruin your night with your best friends though, so you shoved it to the back of your consciousness. You tossed the pen back in the drawer and slammed it in impatience and rush. You then turned to the door finally prepared to leave. As you pulled it open, however, you came face-to-face with Peter’s clenched fist, prepped to knock.

“Oh my god!” You sucked in a breath of shock and surprise and grasped his fist, lowering it away from your face. He blushed and looked down at his feet. “Pete, what are you doing here? We are coming to you.” You asked him confused.

“Oh, I was just kind of in the area and figured I could come and walk with you.” He sounded out of breath and looked a little haggard but you figured it was just from the exercise. Admittedly, you were relieved that he was here. You were kind of frightened from the earlier ordeal and it was nice to have another person with you.

“So want to head out? I’ll take that.” He gestured to the elevator down the hall and took your bag from you to hold. You couldn’t help but notice for the millionth time that over the last few months Peter had gotten fairly fit. The tightly would muscles in his forearm bulged a little in his forearm, it was your weakness.

“Oh, thanks Pete.” You thanked him, blushing profusely. He nodded a polite reply and then you two set out. You remained silent throughout the elevator ride, the only noise being the ringing sound of the bell that goes off as you pass each floor, ding, ding, ding, ding. By the time the doors opened you decided you couldn’t hold in the secret anymore. It was nearly bursting out of you and Peter was the one person on earth with whom you felt truly safe and at home, you trusted him with your life.

“Peter, I have to tell you something…” You whispered as the two of you pushed through the glittering revolving lobby doors. Out on the street it was louder and you felt less worried about someone overhearing. Peter tensed up at your comment, weird.

“What’s up?” He asked you in a weird high voice, the one he always used when  he was trying to cover something up. You put that aside for the time being, with your confession being so extreme.

“I met Spider-man today,” You said it really fast from excitement, he looked nervous. “I was going to Delmar’s like I said, and a gunman came in. I began to fight him and then he went on fire and then Spider-man came in and he was beating the guy up and then I opened the ice cream freezer and then he webbed him and he thanked me for my help!” It all came out in one breath. Relief flooded your body, stabilizing you, and allowing you to take a deep breath.

“Wait, what? He had a gun! Y/N, oh my god have some sense. No level of fighting can stop a bullet!” He seemed really angry at you, and it was weird that he seemed more focused on the fact that there was a gun than anything else. Then again, even Spider-man hadn’t seen the gun, seeing as the man was on fire by the time he came in.

“No, Peter, you aren’t listening… I MET SPIDER-MAN!” You were waving your hands around in excitement at this point. He turned to you and despite his clear unease he choked out a snort at your glee.

You spent the rest of the walk home telling him all about Spider-man, with him smiling this small humble smile and simply listening to you.

You were completely at home in Peter’s living room, with your legs resting on Ned and your head on Peter’s lap you were living the luxury life. The Empire Strikes Back was playing in the background but you guys were trading your best pick-up lines, it was your turn; “Did you just fart?” You asked them, arching an eyebrow. They both shook their heads innocently. “Cause you blew me away!” You threw your head back, laughing at your own terrible joke. Peter chuckled and Ned snorted.

“That was solid, Y/N.” Peter looked you right in the eyes and said, “You look ill… You must be lacking vitamin ME.” And he booped your nose. You giggled and tickled his chin, always knowing his weaknesses.

“Oh spare me the love fest.” Ned whined. To which you became embarrassed and sat straight up off both of them and leaned into the couch. You couldn’t see Peter mouthing what the hell to Ned, and him shrugging in apology. You immediately felt cold, both physically and emotionally, from the lack of Peter.

From that point on you all sat on your squares of the pull-out couch and watched the movie in silence. But you couldn’t focus. Peter’s hand was right next to yours and you wanted nothing more than to intertwine them and pull him close. You could smell him from here, he smelled of maple and cinnamon.

You were shot back to the day when the two of you were 7, you were dressed up as Princess Leia, a white bed sheet wrapped around you and he was dressed as Han Solo, with a cowboy vest.

“Come here Leia!” He called to you, holding out a small hand. You skipped over to him and gripped it tightly to your chest. “I love you,” You whispered dramatically. “I know.” He gasped and then fell to the ground dramatically. You fell over with him and both rolled around on the ground clutching your aching tummies. He stopped suddenly and sat straight up, golden curls pointing at odd angles. “Will you be my Leia?” He asked. “I already am.” You’d replied.

Remembering that day, you suddenly did something that you never would have done. Maybe, it was because you had fought someone today or maybe you were just growing up but you felt a surge of confidence. You hooked your pinkie over his. You glanced at his face and although he was facing straight ahead, an excited smile crept over his face and weaved his fingers through yours so you were really holding hands.

The feeling you had was indescribable. This was everything you ever wanted. Peter had to have some of the same feelings as you, considering for the rest of the night he moved closer and closer until you were leaning on his shoulder. You fell asleep gradually, breathing him in and feeling completely at peace.

A light noise woke you up to a dark living room lit only by the menu screen from the movie and the absence of Peter next to you. You guessed he went to the bathroom. Sitting up and stretching your back, you heard a noise come from his room, like a small bang of something falling. You stood up to investigate and made it to his doorway, you rubbed your eyes to rid them of the sleepy blurriness and saw something on the ceiling. You looked up and switch on the light just in time to see the hero you worked with earlier peel his mask back. Surprise hit you like a truck, knocking the breath out of you and making you light-headed.

Peter?”
