if you haven’t watch Mark’s video, I suggest you you go now before reading this post (if you actually even read it xD) because it might contain spoilers.
Ok so we now have physical proof of Darkiplier’s existence, just like Anti’s. I love how they both act alike with the glitches and all, but they’re still so different from each other. from what I saw with Jack and Anti, it seems like Anti fights Jack for control of the physical body. Anti was restless, he’d do anything and everything to take full control of Jack’s body, including killing Jack which is kinda what he did in the halloween video when he cut his throat. He just wanted freedom, and he has no problem in blaming us (the fans) for his actions towards Jack (“you all said my name”, “YOU” “its all your fault” “you all made this happen” “you could’ve stopped me… but you just watched as this happened” “now he’s gone forever”). He knows exactly what to say to make us feel guilty. that sounds an awful lot like a sociopath. I might be wrong but I just did some research (I wouldn’t be writing this without doing my homework ahah) and some of the traits are:
Repeated violations of the law
Pervasive lying and deception
Reckless disregard for safety of self or others
Consistent irresponsibility in work and family environments
Lack of remorse
you can see most of these behaviors in Anti. Antisepticeye is a sociopath.
now Darkiplier on the other hand…
from what I saw in mark’s valentine’s day video, Dark looked like he had more self control. he seemed awfully calm. he wasn’t trying to fight Mark for a chance of controling the body. he was waiting for Mark to actually let him in (”I’ve been waiting patiently” “he promised he would let me in again”) and this makes me think… Dark is strong enough to take over Mark’s body without actually attacking Mark the way Anti did with Jack. and Mark knows it. so he made a deal. he would let Dark get in from time to time, if he promised not to hurt anyone. obviously Dark wouldn’t keep that promise like we see in the14 million subs video for example. now lets take a look at some of the psychopath traits:
Lack of guilt/remorse
Lack of empathy
Lack of deep emotional attachments
I don’t know about you but these scream Darkiplier to me. you can see how emotionally detached he is from us. he just wants to toy with our emotions. this is all but a game to him. and he doesn’t care about the consequences (”take your pick. anything of four different choices”, “and lets see how far down this rabbit hole really goes” “so take your pick. show me what you got”, “and maybe we’ll have a good date after all”). he gives us a sense of security and happiness(?) (”if dinner is what you want, then I can provide”, “and I can take you to wherever you’d like to go”), only to be crushed by a statement that makes us fear for our own life (”I can specially take you to places where you DON’T want to go”), leaving us on the edge. he makes us think he actually cares about us (”I’ve been waiting a long time to get some personal space between us”), when he actually just wants to hurt us (”THERE’S NOTHING YOU OR HE CAN DO TO STOP ME”, “youre never, ever going to escape me”).
and if you notice, after you’ve chosen who to kill, you’ll see that if you choose the left option, Mark looks so worried and empathetic over us, trying to reassure us… after all we just killed someone and he’s worried about us (compared to the Mark we’re left with, if you choose the right option). at the end, it turns out we killed the wrong Mark, and we’re left with Dark in front of us. for a second we believed we killed the right Mark, seeing how calm and not evil M(D)ark was acting towards us. that is manipulation. Dark made us believe we were safe now, that we made the right choice, only to crush that sense of safeness right when we were starting to get confortable and at peace (”oops… looks like you made the wrong choice”, “but now we’re going to be together…. forever”)
I strongly believe Darkiplier is a psychopath and Antisepticeye is a sociopath. they both act differently towards Jack and Mark and their fans, but at the same time, in a very similar way. I believe the reason Anti is so glitchy and Dark is so “HD quality” (xD) is because Anti forced his way into Jack and obviously thats gonna leave some damage, while Dark waited (im)patiently for his turn to take over the body.
I just want to congratulate @therealjacksepticeye and @markiplier for portraying these characters, made up by the fans, so unbelievably well, and thank them for taking their time to make something, created by the community, come true like this. you guys are amazing.
this is just my theory, if you disagree or have something to say, I’d be more than happy to hear your theories, but don’t be rude or anything.
also, if you read this giant post till the end, thank you so much for taking your time to do so :) sorry if this was a bit confusing xD
edit: if you want a bit more input on their disorders, take a look at this post
Okay but can we talk about Requiem from the DEH soundtrack and musical?
In case some people needed the definition here it is:
A Requiem is a repose, in musical form, commemorating the dead and praising their life.
We know that the Murphys are not the greatest, most functional family, but their reasons for not singing a Requiem are each different and very telling about their character.
Zoe Murphy will not sing Requiem because she resents the image she held of her brother. She had no clue what he was going through, and only thought he was a slacker, and a psycho stoner. She hated that she had to function in the wake of her train - wreck brother.
She will sing no Requiem because she doesn’t believe he deserves it.
Larry Murphy is disappointed in this son he feels he never really had. “I gave you the world, and you threw it all away”. He felt distanced from Connor, both because of Connor’s issues and Larry’s inability to understand or connect. He won’t sing a Requiem, not because he doesn’t believe he deserves it, but because he feels he really didn’t know his own son. It’s like singing Requiem for a total stranger that you didn’t know or like.
Cynthia Murphy is the contrast. She views a Requiem as giving up on a memory, as allowing Connor to fade away. Evan’s emails give her this illusion of a troubled son she felt she didn’t know, but it’s likely that she tried (Anybody Have a Map? shows this, and her parallels with Evan’s mom). She wants the memory and ideas to live on, so she will not let him fade away and acknowledge that he is gone forever. She will sing no Requiem because she isn’t ready to do so.
Just. Requiem really gets me you guys
(I might analyze the whole soundtrack just because I’m neurotic and hyper focus on everything, so yeah let me know which song/part you want me to analyze)
It's a cruel senseless waste. A young man taken from us in his prime, leaving us to pick up the pieces of our shattered lives, knowing that he's gone forever. So maybe we should have the rest of the week off, you know to cry, and grieve, and remember our dear friend... [points to Chiron]
HIIII!!! Umm could I request a scenario where y/n has Jungkook’s child but he doesn’t want it and leaves y/n and y/n is all alone until Taehyung says he’ll take care of the y/n and the child and you fall in love with Taehyung and Jungkook Regrets it after the child is grown up… Its kinda long sorry!! BUT I LOVE YOUR BLOG❤❤💙💙💙❤💙
Here it is
Hope you like it
Yet another test, another result. Unless they were all flawed, they were clearly saying that you were pregnant. And it was a big deal. You were too young, you would have had to give up the University and mostly you did not know how your boyfriend would react. Jungkook was as young as much as you are and you were always so careful. You could not figure out how it happened when memories of the night a few weeks before get into your mind. You were so taken by the passion that you had given up the condom and that was the result; a completely unexpected pregnancy. “Baby, you’re locked in the bathroom for nearly half an hour. Are you feeling okay?” Jungkook’s voice jolted you and you quickly threw the tests in the trash near the sink, by covering them with a paper towel so as not to make them visible. “Sorry, I was removing makeup. You know things for women, Kooks ” You apologized, coming out of the bathroom and smiling at him mildly; “What are you staring at?” “You look pale. Are you sure you’re okay? ” He asked curiously, coming closer to you and brushed your cheek with your fingertips; “Don’t make me worry.” “It’s okay, Kooks. Everything is fine. ” And that was the first lie in a long line.
__________ Your lies were getting too many and it was becoming increasingly hard to hide the truth to Jungkook. After making up some courage you had decided that that night you’d have said everything, hoping that he would have taken it good and above all being happy. After initial shock, you had begun to accept that pregnancy more and more until you felt happy to bring one creature in your womb. It was the fruit of your love and what could be wrong with something so pure and beautiful? “Kooks… Do you have two minutes? I need to talk to you. ” You began, sitting on the bed beside him, busy playing a video game that you didn’t know. “Sure baby, talk to me.” He smiled and hope kept increasing in you. “A few weeks ago I discovered something. Of course at first, I was scared… but I mean this is an amazing thing, believe me. ” “Don’t keep me in suspense, tell me what’s going on, Jagi” He encouraged you, slipping on the mattress as he approached you; “Have you found to be the best of your course? Is your brother getting married? Have you won a vacation? Teeeeeeell me. ” “I’m pregnant.” Your emotion was palpable in the tone of your voice and your gaze was bright, but Jungkook’s look made you freeze completely. His smile had vanished, his eyes were wide with shock and his look was totally blank. You immediately took his hand, stroking the backs with the pad of your thumb, waiting for the news to make way into his mind and the happiness you felt became his own. “Kooks.. I know we’re you–” “No, I don’t want it.” He immediately stopped you and those few words were a stab to your heart. There was no happiness in his eyes, only anger and you could feel it on your skin as he stared at you. “What you wanted to tell me, huh? I don’t want that son, Y/N, and you should think about your future, how it will be ruined by this child. ” “You can’t be serious!” “Yes, I do. We’re nineteen, we are kids ourselves. How are you going to raise him? Huh? ” “Kooks…” “No, I’m sorry but… It’s not what I want. ” He almost screamed as he rose from the bed, jostling you away and reaching the wardrobe. You looked right at him while he was taking a duffle bag and started to throw in his clothes, without bothering to fold them and place them. He was leaving you and just because you were pregnant, the idea itself disgusted you incredibly much and hurt you so much to leave you speechless. “I’m sorry Y/N; but this is not the life I want. ” “So you don’t assume your responsibilities?” “I… I can’t do that, I’m sorry. ” He whispered, turning to look at you. You could understand his fear, but not his actions. You looked into his eyes for a moment and after that little moment he turned back again, taking the bag and leaving the room. The sound of a door closing, shortly after, made it clear that he was gone. Forever.
“Yah, Y/N … He’s a jerk, I’ve always said that. ” Taehyung said for the umpteenth time, while his arms welcomed you with joy and you were hiding among them. It was in days you were in those conditions, struggling to eat, to sleep, that everything reminded you of him and it hurt you. The only relief came from the presence of Taehyung, who tried in every way to help as best he could. He even volunteered to come with you to the check up that you had hoped to do with Jungkook, but all your hopes and dreams were completely blown away. “How… How do I do it now? ” “What does it mean? Do you want this baby? ” He asked earnestly, looking down at you and shifting a lock of your hair so he can see your eyes. “Of course, Tae. ” “All right, then fuck Jungkook. The only thing that you have to think about now is your health and the health of the baby ” “I’m alone…” “What am I? A Unicorn? ” You heaved your face, upset by his attitude. He could not have really understood that if he wanted to help you during those months, he would have had to be close. It was too much to ask him and you did not want to ruin his life, it was the last thing that he deserved. “Taehyung… I can’t ask you this. ” “Listen, Y/N, you know me. I love children and you’re one of my dearest friends. Let me help you, I want to take care of both of you. ” He said, then giving you one of his brightest smiles. Tears pinched your eyes (but not enough to make you cry, just smiling back. He was there and for the first time in days, you did not feel alone anymore.
“TAEHYUNG.” “WHAT WHAT?” Taehyung screamed, running out of the kitchen with a fork full of food in his hand, looking upset. “I THINK… I THINK IT’S TIME … ” “I’M NOT READY Y/N, CAN’T HE WAIT?” “ASK HIM!” “SOOYOUNG, WHY YOU GOTTA GET NOW I’M EATING GOOD RAMEN?” You, as a reply, threw against him the remote control while the umpteenth and violent contraction made you fold in two for the pain. They had begun that morning but were mild and your gynecologist had made sure they were normal in calving. “KIM TAEHYUNG!” “OKAY, OKAY… WE’RE GOING TO THE HOSPITAL, YOU … THE BAG, I GOT IT, ” Yet another scream as he ran to retrieve the bag, ready for days, for the hospital and came back to you. “ I HAVE TO TAKE YOU IN MY ARMS OR CAN YOU WALK? ” “JUST GET YOUR ASS TAEHYUNG, IT HURTS TOO MUCH.” You did not know what to expect, you were afraid that something could go wrong, that your little boy would be likely to hurt himself. A thousand thoughts invaded your mind but when Taehyung, without saying anything, took you into his arms and came running out of the house, all the negative thoughts vanished. Your guardian angel was with you, nothing could go wrong.
It was the most difficult and painful twelve hours of your life, but in the end, the little Sooyoung had seen the light. He was perfect, with already a bushy little of hair, powerful and clear voice so as to make the nurses laugh when he started to cry. You were too dazed to figure out anything and you accepted willingly the anesthetic in order to rest for at least a few hours without the slightest pain.
“Sooyoung, you look exactly like your mom. Yes… You’ll become a beautiful little man. How about I wake her up? ” A deep and full of sweetness voice woke you up and opening your eyes you laid your gaze on Taehyung, sitting in a chair beside you, holding your child in his arms. “Hey.. Look who’s here. ” He muttered with sweetness, getting up and approaching you. Gently, he put Sooyoung into your arms and a swirl of emotions made you break down and cry, while you kissed and caressed with your lips that perfect and small face. “He’s beautiful.” “As his mom… I’ll leave you alone, you need some time to get to know him. ” He rose from his chair but immediately you gripped his wrist, blocking him from leave you alone. “Stay.” “But… I mean, I think you want to enjoy this time with your son. ” “O-our son.” You faltered while he stared, caught off guard by your words. “Taehyung.. In these months you never left me alone and … I… Don’t go away. ” “Why? Let me hear you say, Y/N ”. “Because I fell in love with you, Tae.”
“Apppppppppppppppppppa!” “Why is my champion screaming like that? What’s going on? ”
You were sitting on the couch, checking out some books to write the next chapter of your thesis, while Sooyoung kept running around the house chasing Taehyung. Their screaming did not bother you, indeed ,somehow, they helped you to stay more focused. After four years you were completely accustomed to their madness.
“Appa I want ice cream!” “You have to ask mom.” Taehyung gave to you the “problem”, causing you to raise your eyes to heaven in a fake desperate way. Immediately the little Sooyoung jumped on the couch, holding onto your neck and stuffing your face with kisses. He was a corruptor, just like his father. “EOMMAAAAA, I WANT ICE CREAM” he screamed, pouting his lips as he always did Taehyung whenever he wanted to get something. “PLEAAAAAASE”. “All right, let’s go get some ice cream.” You agreed, squeezing him softly in your arms and getting up off the couch completely ignoring your studies; “But when we finish the ice cream, we get back home.” “YES, EOMMA!” It was a day in June, the sun was high in the sky and the temperature was perfect. You were holding hands with Taehyung while Sooyoung was two steps ahead of you who hopped, unable to contain the enthusiasm that he was trying at that time. “Sometimes I wonder if he’ll run out of his energies …” Taehyung whispered into your ear, making you smile and shake your head immediately; “But he’s so bea–” His break concerned you right away, so your eyes returned to alight in front of you. And the reason why he had stopped was immediately clear to you. Sooyoung was in front of Jungkook, the last person you wanted to see. Jungkook bowed to reach the cap that your son had lost and your looks have met. “Your cap, kid.” “Thank you! ” Sooyoung thanked him and you could see his toothless smile even though you were a few steps away from him. “Sooyoung, come here. Let’s choose our ice cream, come ” Taehyung recalled the child without deigning to glance Jungkook. The little boy immediately turned and ran up taking his hand he was holding out. They went into the ice-cream parlor, leaving you alone in front of your biggest regret and disappointment. Jungkook came up to you, his hands in his jacket pocket, and a guilty look drew onto his face. He smiled but you did not smile back, remembering only at that moment how much pain he had inflicted on you. “You’re looking good.” “Thank you.” was your answer, totally icy. “You and Taehyung, huh?” “It’s none of your business.” “Already… He… What’s his name? ” “It’s none of your business, Jungkook.” His smile faded away to your answer, but you did not felt sadness at seeing that look on his face. “Now I’ll go back to my son and my husband if you don’t mind.” “I regretted my choice every day for the past four years, Y/N”. “Jungkook… I don’t regret instead. Because I found a person a thousand times better than you, who didn’t leave me. On second thought, I just have to say thank you for abandoning me. Thanks to you, now I know what it’s like to be really happy. ”
I hope this letter finds its way to you. I
know it’s a little weird and out of the blue, but I’m visiting Seoul and I saw
you. What are the chances? The one person that I was scared to run into and I
saw you in a restaurant with your girlfriend.
Ta-da! It’s finally here! I’m sorry for such a long wait! First chapters in a story always take me a while >.< they do after all, set the stage for all the events coming forward!
As always, please leave me asks about what you think when you’ve finished reading!
Something warm and wet presses against your forehead, and you crinkle your eyes in mock annoyance, a smile already forming on your face.
“Mmm…stop that.” You mumble, turning to the other side of the bed to escape whatever disturbed your sleep. Or, whoever.
Strong arms drape around your body, giving a sharp tug. You feel yourself roll back the other way, returning to the exact position you had just escaped from.
“Good morning my love.” A kiss to your nose.
You feel the weight of the ring on your finger shift as he plays with it absent mindedly.
“Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?” A kiss to your cheek.
You carefully peek one eye open, “Did you really wake me up just to tell me that?” Though you try your best to sound stern, even you hear the giggling tone in your voice.
“I need to go to work love.” A kiss to your other cheek.
You turn your head to look at the clock, was it that late already? Turning back you finally notice that Jumin isn’t in his sleeping attire, the fabric of the striped suit staring at you tauntingly.
“I’m sorry…I hadn’t meant to sleep in so late.” You mumble ashamed at how you had even slept through him getting ready.
A gentle hand sweeps over your hair lovingly, “You worked late last night. It’s alright.” Jumin stands from the bed, your arms still thrown around his neck. Instead of detaching them Jumin opts to take you with him to the door, lifting you up from the bed, carrying you as he walked. Your legs wrap around him, and in the short 300 steps it takes to get to the front entrance you sprinkle kisses along his jaw and on his neck.
When he finally arrives at the door you step down sorrowfully, “Have a good day at work.”
You stand over him as he sits to put on his shoes, a frown on your face. Your hair is still disheveled from sleep, lips still swollen from last night’s kisses, your voice is husky, muscled and toned with half awakeness.
Jumin turns from his shoes to glance at you behind him. He lets out a small smile at the very displeased frown on your face. He stares at your messy hair and listens to your musky voice. You’re so beautiful. He always hated leaving you in the morning.
“Will you be home for dinner? You remember our plans right?” You grumble, knowing deep inside that you shouldn’t be acting like such a child. But you couldn’t help it, after all, life was so much better when you both were together.
Jumin tightens his left shoe and stands, turning to face you.
“Yes, yes.” He says dismissively.
There’s a large grin on his face. “I’m heading off now.”
You almost roll your eyes with amusement. Ever since you both had gotten engaged Jumin made it clear to you that he would not leave to work, or anywhere for that matter, without a goodbye kiss from you.
“My, what a doting husband I’m going to have.” You tease, taking steps towards him nonetheless.
“Mmmm, of course.” A kiss to your lips.
It takes you by surprise, “Weren’t you the one who insisted I be the one to kiss you?”
“Of course” He says teasingly, and you look down to discover his eyes closed slightly, his lips pouted out towards you expectantly.
With a mock sigh you move onto the tips of your toes, and press a kiss to his lips softly. A satisfied rumble escapes his chest and you almost let out a laugh at the thought that he resembled a large black cat purring.
Jumin can feel your smile on his lips, and a small growl slips through his mouth. He nips your bottom lip, as if asking how you could dare to think of other things. You pull away, cheeks flushed and your heart a flutter for more. Always more. Jumin’s thumb runs over your lip slowly, as if he were preparing himself to part with you for eternity.
“I’m going love.”
With a nod you smile at him, handing him his brief case and waving him goodbye out the door.
With a sigh you stared at the door. Honestly, it wasn’t like he would be gone forever. With a huff you rolled your eyes at your own clinginess.
Something soft and warm brushes in between your legs, and you look down with a smile.
“Good morning Elizabeth. You just missed your father.” You laugh, scooping her up into your arms. The cat begins to let out purrs instantly.
You laugh, “Like father like daughter.”
You spent the rest of the day tidying the house and baking sweets. Baking had always been your passion, and you thought that you were pretty good at it! You ran a small bakery, and even sold your goods online!
You set a small plate of lemon bars on the counter, saving them for Jumin before scooping Elizabeth the Third up and settling onto the couch to watch some tv.
Flickering through the channels you smiled as your phone chime went off.
Jumin : I miss you.
You: I miss you t-
“…Mr. Han! Please, tell us your thoughts on your son’s engagement!”
Those words catch your attention, and you stop mid text, your eyes returning to the tv screen. Elizabeth the Third meows loudly.
It was no secret to you that Mr. Han wasn’t fond of you. Jumin had taken you along to enough business parties for you to begin noticing Mr. Han’s annoyed glances towards. Or his refusal to speak to you. Mr. Han didn’t approve of you, but there was no way he would claim that you and Jumin weren’t engaged on national television was there?
Jumin and arguments with his father often about you. It always killed you to see Jumin argue with his father, knowing full well just how much Jumin respected him. In the end, the arguments were always one and the same. If you belonged in the Han family.
“He isn’t a bad man MC.”
Jumin had once whispered those words into your ears. And though you wanted to believe him, how could you?
Your eyes refocused back to the images on the screen. Mr. Han’s stern face was masked in unamusement. And you fiddled with the engagement ring on your finger nervously. Next to you your phone begins to ring loudly. It’s Jumin. Ahhh…he must have realized that you’d be watching.
You pick up the call quietly, pressing the phone to your ear, knowing full well he’d just continue to call if you ignored him. Your eyes never leave the screen, and your heart begins to beat rapidly as you wait for Mr. Han to respond.
“Turn it off.” Jumin’s voice booms through the cell phone, angrily. Worridly.
“It’s alright.” You reassure him. “I just…want to see what he says for myself.”
You hear Jumin let out an exasperated sigh, “My love-”
Those words echo off the tv, and they cause your heart to stop in your chest.
On the screen Mr. Han stares directly into the camera, as if knowing that you would be watching.
“My son has no partner. My son is not engaged.” He states, his eyes never leaving the screen.
The reporter lets out an awkward laugh, “But sir, we have reports that Mr. Jumin has gotten engaged to MC. We even have reports that they live together.”
Mr. Han lets out a patient sigh. “ Simply puppy love. He’s just infatuated with the girl. He is my son after all.” He jokes, causing the sea of reporters around him to laugh as well.
Your lips tremble slightly as you turn off the tv. Rejected. Mr. Han just rejected your engagement to the whole wide world.
“MC.” Jumin’s voice calls out from the speaker, and you jump slightly, having forgotten that he was on the line. From the sound of his voice, you can tell that he too, watched the broadcast.
“I’m alright.” You state, lips trembling a little more, the diamond ring on your finger shining brightly at you.
“I’m alright.” You whisper again, covering your shaking lips as tears fall from your eyes. You refuse to let Jumin know that you’re crying.
Jumin’s soft curse under his breath lets you know that you’re failing at masking your voice.
“I’ll call him right now. I’ll make him announce our engagement. I’ll-”
“It’s okay Jumin.” You cut him off.
“Let him be, it’s alright. I’m alright.” You say gently.
The other side of the line grows quiet, and then finally, “I wish I were there to hold you.”
You let out a small laugh as a sniffle escapes you, “That would only spell trouble for Jaehee.”
“Doesn’t matter.” The smile in his voice makes your heart loosen slightly.
“Come home quickly, I miss you.” You say no longer caring just how needy you sound.
“I’ll try my love. After all, we do have very important guests coming later tonight.”
You smile at that, “You adore my younger sister way too much.”
Jumin lets out a deep chuckle, “And our niece is even cuter.”
You let out a content sigh as you examined the table spread you had set up. An elegant white table cloth clothed the smooth ebony table, held in place by a vase full of peonies (Easter egg! Go read peonies if you haven’t ^^) that you had placed as a centerpiece. White plates with gold spirals stood guard along the edge of the table, the gold matching the faint yellow of the napkins.
You smiled as your eyes drifted to the corner of the table. A child’s high chair stood right in between two dining ones, and you let out a laugh as you saw how out of place it was.
The sound of the doorbell draws your attention away from the table.
“Coming~” You say as you make your way towards the front door.
You swing the door open with a large smile on your face.
Your younger sister stands in the doorway, a similar smile on her face.
“Hey!” She greets cheerfully, and you quickly pull her into a hug before making way for her to enter the penthouse.
“Wow…’ She breaths as she enters. She sets the car seat in her hands gently on the floor, looking around the penthouse in wonder. “You know, I’ll never wrap my head around the fact that you live here.”
You laugh in answer, you attention solely on the angel strapped inside the car seat. You snap the handle back, and smile down at the little girl buckled inside.
“Hello Akari” You whisper quietly as you lift your niece out of the seat.
She giggles in your arms, blubbering when you rub your nose gently across hers.
“How old is she now?” You ask your sister, turning to face her as you place Akari on your hips.
“She’s about a year now.” Your sister answers, eyes bright as she watches the two of you.
The two of you play with Akari for a while, watching her explore the penthouse and babbling away.
The sound of the front door opening draws your attention away. Jumin’s home!
You snatch Akari up from the floor, ignoring your sister who laughs at you, as you make your way to welcome Jumin.
“Akari, look who’s ho-” You stop short as you look up from the baby in your arms.
Rigid eyes greet you. Slightly shorter. Slightly more grey hair. Mr. Han.
The smile falls off your face instantly.
“M-Mr. Han.” You stutter out, your mouth suddenly dry. Why was he here?
Mr. Han looks around the penthouse slowly, eyes stopping briefly to look at your sister, at Akari, and then finally, back on you.
“I see that Jumin isn’t home yet.” He states.
You nod quietly, giving a little jump as you reposition Akari.
“Ms. MC, my son tells me that you’re quite intelligent.” Mr. Han says.
You backtrack. What?
“He flatters me Mr. Han.” You reply curtly.
You finally move your eyes to his own, and you instantly regret your choice.
An ugly sneer replaces his emotionless face. “Yes, it would seem that my son does flatter you. A little too much. You would think that someone with intelligence would take the hint after watching today’s interview.”
His words pierce your heart. But Mr. Han isn’t finished.
“And would you look at this!” He exclaims, gesturing to your sister and Akari.
“I’ve read up on your family Ms. MC. Your sister got involved with a bad man. Not only did he swindle her of everything, he even left her with a child! I’m not sure how you tricked Jumin, but I can see right through you.”
You rush to explain, “No Mr. Han it isn’t like that, I promise you! Most of the debt is already paid, Jumin doesn’t even know anything about i-”
“I will never accept you as my daughter-in-law.”
Mr. Han’s words cut you off harshly. He glares at you from where he stands, until his eyes slowly fall onto Akari, as if remembering that an infant were present this whole time.
“I won’t ever accept you. You, or your future children.”
His words come out like venom. They poison the air and taint the feelings in your heart.
As if on queue, Akari begins to cry, loud wails echoing off the empty walls. Off of Mr.Han. Your heart wrenches in your chest. It’s almost as if Akari cries for you.
Instantly your sister rushes forward from off the couch to take her daughter and you let her, stuck frozen in place from Mr. Han’s words. After a few moments Akari’s cries turn to sniffles, and Mr. Han clears his throat as he prepares to leave.
“Please don’t let this drag on Ms. MC.” He says, before shutting the door firmly behind him. Shutting the door, on you.
Annnnnnnnnd that’s that! I swear it’ll get more interesting soon!!!! Like I said before, I’m simply setting the stage at the moment.
As always, thank you all for your endless support, and look forward to chapter 2 ^^
