he's doing it too slowly

One of the hardest things is to watch someone slowly lose interest in you.

In case you were wondering what happened to Alex’s backbone in season eleven,
apparently he left it somewhere in season ten.

Imagine your reaction when Jensen does this during the two of you’s con.

“Damn stupid, stupid, stupid!” Jensen hit himself, proceeding to laugh. He was looking down, feeling shy  pretty much like awlways.

You chuckled as well “Oh trust me ladies that’s what I do everytime I see him in the bedroom with just a pair of sweatpants!” you spoke up and some laughed while others cheered.

Jensen himself laughed, shaking his head “Sometimes she wistles too” he pointed out and you laughed, a little shyly too.

“Only when he comes out of the shower with that towel wrapped around his waist!”

Your words made the crowd scream even louder and both you and Jensen chuckled.

“And I won’t even mention what I do when he takes that off too!” you said slowly through the mic and that’s certainly when the crowd went crazy.

You both laughed. You more than Jensen whose face was bright red. You enjoyed that more than anything. He got so bashful sometimes, not to mention when you complimented him. Pretty much like when he said somthing about you.

He walked close to you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders to bring you closer to him. He grinned down at you, that chidlike kind of smile that after so long still made your heart flutter.

He leaned down and kissed you on the lips fully. You felt a blush rise up on yoru cheeks but you still enjoyed it.

He grinned down at you, winking when he pulled away.

“And now speaking to the male population here, cause I see a few-” Jensen turned to look at the crowd, speaking through the microphone “You haven’t seen this woman in just a towel, I mean you ain’t going to because I will never let her go but- Hot damn!”

Your eyes widened for a second but you laughed, hiding your red face at the crook of his neck as he hhugged you close to him.

Hey hey! May I please request an Alex Summers x Reader one shot where you two hate each other, but you are assigned to recruit another mutant in Hawaii and have to go undercover? You look like you’re on vacation (so bikinis;)) and he gets all flustered when he sees you and you do too when you see him shirtless. Things slowly warm up between you guys and eventually, after you’ve recruited the girl, he kisses you and you become a thing? Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!

“Are you insane, Charles?” I demanded. “You’re sending me, on an assignment, with him?” I pointed to the ‘him’ in question who was sitting in a chair with arms crossed over his chest.

Alex Summers.

He sighed and looked up at the ceiling obviously annoyed at the same reason. Charles gave us an assignment to recruit a mutant. However, he could’ve sent any mutant who lived in the mansion. But for some reason, he decided that the most suitable mutants to go on this assignment were the two mutants who hated each other. And they would be Alex Summers and I.

“You think I want to go on a mission with you?” Alex asked giving me a look that could kill. I gave him an equally deadly look.

“I’ve already made my decision.” Charles told us. Before we could argue more, he pointed to the door. There was a look on his face that told us that we should leave quietly or we’ll have chores. I sighed through my nose and left the room shortly followed by Alex. Neither of spared each other a second glance as we went our separate ways to our bedrooms to pack.

As I pushed clothes around in my wardrobe, there was a knock on my door followed by it opening.

“You seemed pissed. And you still are.” Raven noted lying on my bed next to my open suitcase. I snorted as I tossed a dress over my shoulder. There was a soft thud as it landed on the bed.

“This is cute. I thought you hated Alex.” She added. I turned around with more clothes in my arm.

“I do hate him.” I told her dumping the clothes on the bed.

“Then why are you going to wear this? Or this?” She asked holding up some of my dresses.

“If I want to look pretty, I will. I’m not wearing them for Alex.”

“And the swimsuit?”

“Hawaii.” I replied folding up some of my clothes and placing them neatly in the suitcase.

“Fair point.”

After packing and a goodnight sleep, I had to face Alex the next morning. He was wearing sunglasses and made sure to avoid looking at me. We sat in silence on the way to the airport and even more silence as we waited in the airport. The sun hadn’t risen yet so we were tired.

In my hands was a book that I read through as we waited. Alex was leaning forwards with his elbows on his knees. I couldn’t tell if he had fallen asleep since he wasn’t moving. Then I realised he was asleep. I was about to nudge him when there was an announcement about people needing to board the plane. Alex stood up and I watched as he rolled his shoulders. Then he looked down at me.

“You coming or what?” He asked as I were planning on sitting down for the rest of the day.

“Of course I am.” I stood up so we were face to face. “I was just wondering if you were ever going to wake up and I would have to go on the assignment by myself. Maybe it would’ve been better if you stayed asleep. Come on. We need to go.” I picked up my bag and made my way to board the plane with my passport in hand.

Once on the plane, I opened my book and Alex leaned back in his seat. He had taken off his sunglasses and closed his eyes with his arms crossed over his chest. After the plane took off, I realised Alex had fallen asleep. A small smile formed on my lips. Then I felt his head fall on to my shoulder. I froze but relaxed realising he was still asleep. As Alex slept, I carried on reading my book.

Thankfully, the flight wasn’t long and we landed after a few hours. Once the plane landed, Alex woke up. I looked at him and smiled.

“Nice to see you’re awake.” I smiled. Alex sat up straight once he realised he fell asleep on my shoulder.

“I’m surprised you didn’t wake me up.” Alex noted. I shrugged my shoulders.

“I’m not a complete monster.”

The two of us left the airport and managed to find a car to rent. Charles had sorted everything out for us. That meant transportation and somewhere to stay. Alex drove and I could feel myself dozing off. However, I always woke up before anything could happen. Eventually, I fell asleep in the car. And then I woke up when the car came to a start. I sat up straight and looked around. We were outside a house and I could smell the salt in the air from the sea. The sound of waves crashing against the shore filled my ears.

“How long was I asleep for?” I asked yawning.

“A couple of hours. I’m not a complete monster either.” Alex grinned at me. I smiled at him and got out the car. “So, I guess we can relax before we find the mutant? I mean, we don’t really know where she is.”

“I know most of the places she goes.” I pointed out. “I have a file in my bag. Charles found out information.”

“Oh, okay then.” He nodded and grabbed his bags from the back of the car. I grabbed mine and followed Alex into the house.

Now, let’s just say that everything after that little moment went downhill. Especially when it came to what we should be doing. I suggested we should go and see if we could find the mutant. And Alex just wanted to go to the beach. We had enough time for the beach! We’re on ‘vacation’. However, we were able to come to an agreement. We would go looking for this girl tomorrow after we relaxed.

Alex disappeared into his room and I went into mine. Opening up my suitcase which I pulled on to my bed, I pulled out all the clothes I needed. My swimsuit and a t-shirt for now, and a dress if were to go somewhere. All the rest I hung up in the wardrobe. I began sorting out my clothes and there was a knock on the door.

“Hey, you coming out anytime soon?” Alex asked sounding annoyed. “Or I’m just going to go down without you.”

“You can go.” I told him.

“Oh, are you sure?” He sounded surprised.

“Yeah, I’ll be there in a few minutes.”

“Okay.” Alex answered shortly. I heard one of the doors close and I quickly changed out of my jeans and t-shirt into a two-piece swimsuit. Pulling on the extra t-shirt, I slipped on a pair of sandals before leaving my room and the house.

Right away I saw Alex who was standing on the beach. He was wearing swim trunks. Just from standing behind him, I could see how toned he is and I couldn’t help but stare. Alex turned and smiled at me.

“Hey,” I smiled back taking my eyes off his bare chest. Damn. Why does he have to be handsome? “So… Are you going to go swimming?”

“Maybe. You?”

“I think I’ll read instead.” I told him. “I’ll be back in a second.” I turned and quickly went back to the house and grabbed my book. There was a beach chair that I began to drag out of the house but I was struggling with my book in my hand.

“Here,” Alex said appearing out of nowhere and making me jump. “I’ve got it.”

“Oh, okay.” I smiled as he took the chair. I couldn’t keep my eyes off his chest as I watched his muscles. But I forced myself to look away which was good because I almost fell into the sand. Alex unfortunately noticed and smirked.

“Eyes are up here.” He told me putting the chair down. I grumbled under my breath and dropped my book on to the chair before pulling my t-shirt off. Dropping my t-shirt, I saw Alex staring at me.

“What? You’ve never seen a girl in a swimsuit?” I teased. I swear his face turned red as he turned away.

Thankfully, the next few days were okay. We didn’t argue which was nice and we were nice to one another. Alex acted like a gentleman by opening doors for me whereas he would just walk in somewhere and let the door hit me in the face. And I was nice and made sure he was okay when he fell over on the beach.

They were small accomplishments. But they were accomplishments nonetheless. One of the bigger achievements would be when were able to meet the mutant we had to find and convince her to join the X-Men. And then somehow, we ended up at a beach party.

I fell into a chair and opened my book. There were only a few pages left and I had to finish them. As I read in the noise of the waves and music, someone sat next to me. I looked up to see Alex and there was a book in his hands.

“Hi.” I smiled at him. To be honest, I really liked Alex. He was sweet and I just really liked him.

“Hi. I bought this for you. I saw that you’re almost done with your book, and I know that we don’t have that much longer here, but I wanted to give it to you now.” Alex passed me the book and I stared at it.

“Alex, I don’t know what to say! Thank you!” I got up and gave him a quick hug which was odd since he was still sitting down.

“You’re welcome! I saw that you were almost done and I figured that you’d want to read something on the way home, or if you wanted to sleep, that’s cool too.” He rambled. I smiled.

“Do you want to dance with me?” I asked.

“(Y/N), I would love to.” He stood up and held out his hand. The two of us walked over to where the dance floor was. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he placed his hands on my waist as we began swaying to music.

“So…” Alex began.

“So?” I echoed.

“(Y/N), would you go on a date with me? Like an actual date? Not one where we have to pretend or anything?”

“I’d love that.” I stood on my toes and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Except Alex kissed me on the lips. I smiled and kissed him back.

Rant concerning Count Olaf and his unfair ending (LONG POST WARNING)

In the ASOUE universe, as everyone who has read the books knows, loose ends are seldom tied up and generally nothing ends on a truly positive note. Count Olaf, despite being the main antagonist, is no exception to this, but when I think about the ending he received vs the ending he deserved, I find it far from satisfactory. I mean, with most of the other main characters, it’s pretty open for interpretation whether or not they survived but he didn’t get that and it was explicitly stated that he died and he had to do so slowly and tragically too. And if he had died bearing the same awful personality he had through most of the series, I wouldn’t have even blinked an eye, but it’s clear that during The End, he has begun to change for the better. I would like to think, in an AU, that he too survived, along with the Baudelaires, and they all got off the island together eventually. Not necessarily resulting in a happy ending, because as we know, no one in the Snicket universe ever really gets that, but something slightly better than what actually occurred.

I would like an AU where he gets his second chance, as he should have, and maybe tries to redeem himself when he gets back to the city. Perhaps he had a near death experience on the island, with the Medusoid Mycelium or something, which makes him realize that he wants to change his ways, at least somewhat. Now, this certainly doesn’t mean that he would become a good guy overnight, but it awakens something in him that causes him to want to become at least somewhat of a different person. And he remains sort of a grey character, as we have seen many of in ASOUE, but his loyalties to the Baudelaires actually grow surprisingly; he no longer hates them or wishes them dead.

Maybe even he is recruited back into VFD, the organization of which had so much potential and could have led him to such, but unfortunately forced him as a young child into great pain that eventually resulted in his wicked behavior. He gets a second chance with the Volunteers, and finally there is a place for him to belong after all. I want an ending for him with redemption. I don’t want “he simply died and that was the end of it.” If there was potential for the Baudelaire orphans, who lived a life of misfortune through the entirety of the series, then by all means there should be potential for the man who was living through such misery with them, and possibly even before they were.

The point of view may have been shifted in the narrative, showing us that the Baudelaires lived wretched lives and Olaf was the one responsible for that, but there are two sides to every story, and it would have been nice if he had gotten the ending he deserved and a shot at redemption. No one in the Snicket universe is really free from pain and tragedy, and Olaf certainly demonstrates that. As wicked deeds often return wicked deeds, it’s important for us to remember that he was an example of which, and conclusively, I believe that Olaf’s chapter should have ended on a note somewhat more ambiguous- or resolved- than it did.

For 8 years, Pietro had known how he truly felt about his beautiful sister, but at 14 he was for too frightened to do anything about it. Slowly they had comes to term with their mirrored affection and lived in fear of being discovered before they were ready. Now, things were different. 6 months ago, after their parents had passed, Pietro had become King and with a few changes to the law his sister had become his wife and Queen. Their love blossomed in their new found freedom and he was ecstatic to see the joy he found in her eyes now, their days of hiding over. Striding inside after his evening ride he sought her out in the large castle. Finally he had found her and knelt at the foot of her chaise. “Wanda, lyubimyy, are you ready for dinner? I will escort you to the dining room,” he murmured to her with a soft kiss to her knuckles. Dinner was always a pleasant affair, a private meal to share together before they retired for the evening to bed. “I thought I had heard rumors that your favorite soup would be made. And tonight is a lovely evening for hot broth, I am still chilled from my ride,” he added beginning to stand up as he spoke to her.
