he's a freshman in high school

Moment you realized you loved a giant green man?

oh god
tbh when I first started watching DBZ when was like in ??? 3rd or 4th grade???
At that time I loved vegeta and didn’t have any interest for piccolo.
But then growing up and learning more about each characters backgrounds and personalities, I started to dislike (dbz)vegeta a lot and began coming more interested with piccolo’s character development and background.
I think by the time piccolo became my overall favorite character was when I was a freshman in high school? or maybe when I started junior high?? fuck I don’t remember.. I just know that he’s been a major inspiration of mine for a very long time.
I basically wouldn’t have been into art/drawing if it wasn’t for me liking piccolo so much

He’s a cool green bean

So as it turns out, I am the rose drake mom now. And I have had SO MANY ROSY THOUGHTS this past day.

I used to work at a rose farm, actually, when I was in high school. I was 15, I made $7 an hour, working 40 hours a week. It was the summer between freshman and sophomore year. I have spent Time With Roses. Not saying I remember all that much. I remember that Mr Lincoln is a deep, beautiful red rose whose blooms are about the size of my cereal bowls (A really exact measurement, I know).

So, I suppose it makes sense that little bubby followed me home. He has been on my mind since yesterday. I mean, I know that’s not super long, but I was worried about him, you know? He’s such a cute wiggly baby. His coloring, the light to dark pink, the slight orange tinge down the tail. Such a sweet lil guy.

I asked Aura to communicate with her companion, J.

J said that my little friend’s mother… Is gone. And that he has been adopted by J. I’m sure that J is a capable dragon mother, considering she has her own babies. But I still kinda wanna know what’s going on with him, you know?

So we are going to call him Florus, until he is old enough to tell us what he wants to be called. And Florus has, shall we say, imprinted on me. Like you know how baby animals “imprint” on whoever they see when they’re born? It was like that.

Florus is going to stay with J, until we feel like he’s old enough to come back to me. I’m excited. G (cloud dragon) is having slight jealousy feelings.

I think I need to implement a schedule spreadsheet. I don’t want anyone to feel left out, or unappreciated.

If someone had told me like, last year around this time? That I was gonna be a rose drake mother, I would say you’re out of your mind.

How time makes fools of us all.

Tango accidentally completed all of the 3 year web design coursework the first semester of his freshman year in high school. The teacher had it online in case anyone wanted to get ahead, and he just sort of hyperfocused and finished it all over thanksgiving break. He helped redesign the schools website second semester, and was completely in charge by his junior year. He was also the Tech Guy™ if a computer wasn’t working, and had way too many random cables and usbs in his backpack.

I missed one day of high school my freshman year so I could go to a Lemony Snicket book signing taking place at a Borders two and a half hours away. When I got up to the table, I told him I read each book in the series seven times, so he grabbed a book off of the shelf behind him and told me I should read that instead. I didn’t listen, proceeded to reread A Series of Unfortunate Events two more times, and wrote an essay on the series that got me accepted into the college located in the city where these pictures were taken.

I have given thought to a Legends of Flarrow-Superhero/Villain high school au

I have decided what cliques everyone would be in.

Team Arrow: Cool jocks. (Felicity is the cutesy nerd girl that dates the team captain, Oliver Queen; also to be found hanging with Team Flash)

Team Flash: Nerds. (Like, the adorable nerds that always sit in the front row and have study groups in the library and are in the science club. Felicity and Ray are both honorary members)

Team Legends: Those kids that skip class and smoke weed behind the gym (I don’t know what that’s called, but we all knew those people in high school. Leonard flirts with Barry Allen, both to copy his homework and because he’s a cutie and his cheeks turn an adorable shade of red when he blushes; Jax is the freshman that somehow gets dragged into their shenanigans, but secretly likes it; Amaya is the hall monitor that judges them, but never turns them in; Ray is the adorkable nerd that reminds them they should be in class, but is silenced when Mick shoves a joint in his face and tells him to shut up; Stein is the teacher that catches them, but trades his silence for one of their joints while explaining theoretical physics to them)

Feel free to add any headcanons, thoughts, etc! (I really love this AU)

You and Jungkook had been friends since high school. You two met freshman year, having ended up taking every class together that first semester. You thought you were basically meant to be friends.

You were glad you two had become friends because Jungkook had brought such light into your life. He was slightly younger than you so you tended to call him kid, a lot, much to his dismay. You liked being older than him though, you thought of yourself as a big sister, a guardian. Although now you two were in college and he wasn’t so young and innocent anymore.

The one thing Keith knows is that Lance smells amazing.

It’s first thing Keith had noticed about him. He smells like lavender; it’s his shampoo, Keith found out after spending the night at Lance’s in freshman year. The sweet smell reminds him of those Lush stores Shiro used to drag him to. Shiro’d ask him which conditioner he should buy for Keith because yes, Keith, you should take of yourself. Keith would point to whatever and try not to stare at the gorgeous employees. He likes the loud ones, with nice bright smiles and lips that aren’t chapped, pretty boys with–

“Hey, Keith-a-roo, are you listening to me?”

i’m currently remembering something great

my english teacher in freshman year of high school was named mr. funair (i know right) which we always thought HAD to be a fake name bc it was TOO convenient because he was this creepily positive smiley guy who kept telling us “fun is in the air” and we were edgy teenagers so we did not WANT fun to be in the air, we wanted existential misery

anyway i have probably told the story before that he made us begin every class period by reciting a positive affirmation, we had to say the following in unison and you’d get in trouble if you didn’t sound sufficiently enthusiastic: “i am smart, i learn quickly, i have an excellent memory and i’m good looking. every day i do Wonderful, Outstanding Work. WOW!”

like… class would not start until we had said this. we used to mess around and say it really fast or really slow or in other languages and mr. funair would get very earnestly annoyed. i’m sure i’ve told that part before.

what i had forgotten and have just remembered is that the positive affirmation was followed by the “wow wave,” which was exactly what it fucking sounds like, we had to do the wave at our desks while shouting “wow!” and again, if we were not deemed sufficiently excited we would have to do it over again. the amount of class time we wasted trying to get the wow wave right… not that we were going to learn anything worthwhile in freshman english anyway

but still, unbidden, to my mind leaps an image of 25 teenagers jumping out of their rickety desks, screaming “WOW”

how would you feel ; riarkle

It’s freshman year and Riley is trying out for cheer, again. Even though she made it last year, she still wasn’t satisfied with her “pity acceptance” and vowed to make it this year (I have to prove myself this time Farkle. We’re in high school now, it’s the big leagues), but for real this time.

The whole gang was going to come and support her again but everyone besides Farkle was preoccupied. Lucas and Zay had football practice, Maya had independent art study with Mr Turner, and Smackle was tutoring Yogi in biology. Farkle also had plans, the robotics club was about to make a huge breakthrough with their most recent endeavor, but when he saw the way her face fell when everyone bailed, he couldn’t do that to her. He knew that if she knew he had somewhere else to be, she would make him go, so he made sure she felt like his number one priority. At least, that’s what he told Smackle when she accused him of having feelings for her (again).

“She’s our friend, Smackle. My best friend actually, and I promised her I would be there for her. Always.”

“I thought I was your best friend, dearest? Match made in heaven?”

“You’re my girlfriend. There’s a difference.”

Smackle pretended his comment didn’t sting, and didn’t question it further.

+

He was gathering his stuff from his locker when she anxiously floated over to him the day of the try outs. She looked adorable in her high ponytail, pom poms in hand. Not that he noticed.

“Farkle, I’m so beyond nervous!” Her words zoomed off her lips as they walked to the gym. “I’ve been working with Zoe all summer, you know that, but what if it’s not enough? These girls have made this their lifestyle and I only started this summer. I want this so bad, my head could burst.”

“Riley,” he paused, stopping them and grabbing her hand, platonically, “You’re going to be great. You have never failed at anything you put your mind to. Don’t freak out, Riles. I’m going to be in those bleachers cheering you on the whole time.”
She looked up at him with her big, doe eyes, “Always?”

His heart broke at the sight of her vulnerability so he squeezed her hand, “Always.”

Her try out went great, he knew it would. She danced and laughed and even though she tripped at least seven times, she had more cheer than anyone there. He reminded her of that when they sat outside of the school waiting for their ride as she cried into his shoulder. As she cried, he held her tighter than ever before. Platonically.

The results got posted the next day and Farkle picked Riley up in his dad’s car even earlier than Cory could have taken her so they could wait outside and eat bagels. She wanted to be the first one to see the list, and for Farkle to be the second. When the school finally opened, Riley ran to the bulletin board outside of the gym before Farkle could even make it two feet inside. When he got to the bulletin board, she was standing in front of it, motionless.

“Riles,” he began cautiously.

“I, I made the team,” she whispered as if she didn’t even believe the words coming out of her own mouth.

It took him exactly .2 seconds for him to run to her and sweep her into his arms. She giggled wildly as he lifted her off the ground and twirled her around, embracing her as they celebrated this triumph.

Setting her down but not letting go of her, they looked at each other from a dangerously close perspective. His breath was heavier than he ever wanted it to be when he was around her, and her face was flushed pink with something she could only describe as pure exhilaration. Of course, at the time, she blamed it on the good news.

“Riley,” he paused, I love you,“I’m so proud of you.”

Her eyelashes fluttered as she looked at him in a daze, I love you too “I couldn’t have done it without you.”

That night, he thought about the words he thought in that moment of pure bliss and reminded himself that it was platonic. They had said it a thousand times.

So why could he not say it then?

————-

Freshman year quickly turned into sophomore year and sophomore year brought more challenges than any of them could imagine.
After the London Debacle the six had faced at the end of the last school year, Riley and Lucas had decided to stay broken up and a long three months later, Lucas and Maya had decided to put themselves, and everyone else, out of their misery and try dating again. They were now almost four months in things had settled. They were happy. Everyone was happy. Until the night that Smackle became very unhappy.

“Really, Smackle, I can leave. I don’t want to get in the way. I shouldn’t have come anyway.”

Smackle and Farkle were having a fairly innocent make out session in Farkle’s room when Riley barged in with bags full of snacks and all of the back to the future movies in hand. Ever since Maya and Lucas had started dating, Farkle had been there for her to lean on and she naively didn’t notice the effect it had on Farkle and Smackle’s relationship. That is, she didn’t realize it until she saw poor Smackle freaking out on Farkle.

“No, Riley, you’re fine,” Farkle said for the umpteenth time that night. Riley could very clearly see that things were not fine, that she was most certainly was not fine and that she should leave, so why did she believe him? Why did she take her word for it and sit there, knowing it was only making things worse?

Smackle scoffed, “Classic.”

Farkle’s finger were going to town on his temples, trying to soothe his mind in anyway possible, “Isadora, if you have something to say then say it.” He never called her by her full name.

“Fine,” she began, stronger than a bull, “If you want to really hear it then here it goes. Riley is using you, Farkle, and you’re letting it happen because you’re too nice. Ever since Lucas and Maya started dating she has needed someone to be there for her 24/7 and you became that person. But guess what, babe? I need you to be that person because you’re my boyfriend,” she paused and turned to Riley, “You hear that? My boyfriend. I get that things have been hard for you Riley but things get hard for everyone and you’re not the center of the universe. You don’t have dibs being treated right and you definitely don’t have dibs on being treated perfectly by my boyfriend.”

“You don’t get to talk to her like that, Smackle!” Farkle’s hands were balled and his neck was bright red. Riley had only ever seen him like that the time that Maya’s dad showed up drunk to one of her art shows over the summer. He was always the first one to start swinging for his girls but she wasn’t going to let that happen tonight. Smackle was right, she was being selfish.

“Farkle! Enough!” Riley yelled as she stood up and walked in between them, facing Farkle. “She’s right. I mean, for God’s sake it’s a Friday night and I barged in here with no warning just assuming you’d be available. That’s selfish, Farkle. Don’t defend me. Your relationship with Smackle is more important than my bruised ego. I’m going to go now,” she turned to Smackle, “I really am sorry, Smackle. I hope you can forgive me and realize that I never meant to hurt anyone,” she paused for a moment to gather herself, “Right, I’m gonna go now. So sorry. Ok, bye,” and with that, she slipped out the door and slid down against it, letting her head fall into her palms.

What the hell is wrong with you, Matthews? Get it together.

+

She woke up the next morning with a knock on her bay window.

Groggily and even more clumsily than normal, she made her way from her bed to open it up and let whichever one of her friends had decided to disturb her slumber this time. However, when she saw it was Farkle, she instantly sobered up.

“It’s seven am, what are you doing here?” She asked with a yawn.

He scooted in and sat next to her, head in his hands, “Smackle dumped me exactly six hours and forty seven minutes ago. After you left we kept talking and then talking turned to arguing some more and then arguing turned to tears and tears turned to slammed doors. I can’t believe I messed things up with her so bad.”

Riley’s heart broke at the sight of him. Now that she was really paying attention, she noticed that he was wearing the same outfit as yesterday and his hair was sticking up in every direction besides the one it was supposed to be.

She sighed and put her arm around him, resting her head against his crouched frame, “I’m so sorry, Farkley. This is all my fault. Do you want me to talk to her?”

He laughed dryly, “Actually, I feel like you’re the last person she wants to talk to. Well, second to last, actually. I think you’ve finally beaten me at something,” he joked as she playfully shoved him.

The two sat in silence for a little bit, just enjoying the heat of each other’s bodies.

“Are you wearing bunny pajamas?” He asked after a few minutes of comfortable silence.

“Excuse me for not expecting company at seven am.”

Silence fell upon them again.

Until Farkle was, once again, the one to break it.

“It wasn’t your fault, ya know. I’m the one that kept putting everything before my relationship. Don’t feel bad about it,” his voice was a whisper and she could tell he was incredibly serious and even more so remorseful at how he handled things with Smackle.

She sighed and started fiddling with the loose strings on the friendship bracelet she made him for his birthday last year as a joke. She ignores the fact that he never took it off, “You can say it wasn’t my fault all you want but the way she looked at me just goes to show that it was. She had every right to look at me like that.”

“Riley, you’re talking as if you’re a homewrecker.”

“I might as well be. You two were the best couple I had ever seen and here I come in like a bulldozer, messing everything up.”

He laughed the littlest laugh at that, it was just so absurd for Riley to think that she was anything less than perfect, “If we truly were the best couple, then some weirdo girl in bunny pajamas wouldn’t stand a chance against us.”

This made Riley laugh and bury her head into his shoulder, which felt like a victory.

I love you, “You’re the most important person in my life,” so much, “I wouldn’t trade you for anything in the world.”

I love you more, All she did was smile at him and continue fiddling with his friendship bracelet.

————-

New Years Eve was a time of revelations for the group of six. Sophomore year had finally reached the halfway mark and the friends were celebrating with another New Year’s Eve party. However, to avoid the bad luck of the eighth grade party, they had changed locations to Maya’s apartment. Katy and Maya moved in with Shawn into a much nicer place about three blocks away from Riley and it seemed like the perfect location so Zay, Smackle, Farkle, Riley, Maya, and Lucas, along with the rest of the class of 2020, set up shop and got the party going.

Midnight was in exactly three minutes when Farkle found Riley on the roof of the apartment building. It was rare how bright the stars were shining that night.

She was leaning against the railing, head dreamily placed in the palm of her hand.

“Whatcha thinking about?” He asked as he mimicked her stance.

“Just how glad I am that this year is about to be over, and all of the possibilities that next year has to offer. 2018: the year of hope.”

He smiled warmly at her optimism, it had always been one of the many things he had loved about her. But up until recently, he thought it was all strictly platonic. But, when him and Smackle broke up a month and a half go, he began to realize that he had been lying to himself all along. It was never strictly platonic. It was hardly platonic period. Farkle hadn’t just loved Riley since the first grade, he had been in love with her since the first grade and he hadn’t been able to shake the realization since. Especially not with them being alone on this rooftop and her cheeks being as red as the day he first almost told her he loved her. It was all of the almosts that made him realize that it was more than friendly. Because friends don’t need almosts.

After a little bit of silence and a whole minute of the countdown gone, Riley asked, “What are your resolutions this year, Farkle? Now remember, nothing is too big.”

He looked at her and then he looked back up at the night sky. My resolution is to get the girl. “I don’t know. What’s yours?”

Nervousness suddenly washed over her as she looked down at her glove clad hands and then back up at him, “Promise not to laugh?”

“When have I ever laughed at you?”

“Almost everyday!” She joked, causing him to laugh out loud.

“Ok, ok I promise not to laugh. But hurry up, there’s only twenty seconds until midnight.”

Between the time it took for him to finish talking and for her to build the courage to speak, the time had dropped to ten seconds. They could faintly hear the countdown from their party downstairs.

She looked at her hands and whispered quietly, “I want to fall in love.”

Five seconds.

“What?” He couldn’t hear her above the countdown.

Two seconds.

“I want to fall in love!” she screamed giddily to the streets of New York City as the party downstairs and all across the east coast screamed “Happy New Year!”

With the new knowledge of her resolution, he didn’t waste another second.

I love you. He kissed her.

I know. She kissed him back. I love you more.

Riley and Farkle weren’t dating. Unless you call him giving her rides everyday, waiting for her at her locker, and sneaking kisses under the bleachers in between classes dating. Because if that what dating was, then they were definitely doing it, and had been for the entire second half of sophomore year, the whole summer, and the first few months of junior year. But they would go to the grave saying that nothing had changed. They even said so when Farkle showed up to school with a hickey peeking through the collar of his shirt after a long weekend. The same long weekend that Riley had told Maya she was busy the entire time of.

“Hey Farkle, what’s that on your neck?” Zay asked at lunch that fateful Tuesday back at school, trying to feign innocence.

Maya sat down next to Lucas and decided to join in on the phone, “Yeah, Minkus, what is it? Did you ‘fall’ again?”

However, Farkle didn’t back down easily, and he had been playing Maya and Zay’s games for a few years now, he was no Novice. “Actually, it is. In fact, it looks just like the bruises that were all over your neck freshman year right after you and Lucas had made it official. You must have ‘fallen’ a lot too. What a cowinky dink,” he finished as he took a bite into his apple, giving a smug look to Maya who just glared in response.

“Hey guys, what are we talking about?” Riley asked as she sat down, right next to Farkle of course. “Sorry I’m late, I had to stop by my physics class and ask a question. That class is so insanely difficult it’s driving me cra-” she halted as she saw the death stare Maya was giving Farkle, “What’s happening here?”

Without looking up from his casserole, Lucas nonchalantly explained, “Farkle and Maya are slut shaming each other.”

“Are you serious? That’s the third time this week!” Riley sighed annoyingly, hitting Farkle on the arm.

“Hey! It’s not my fault that your girlfriend keeps coming at my bruises. It’s not my fault that I uh, fall down a lot.”

Maya snickered from across the table, making Farkle snap his head back to her direction.

“What’s so funny, Hart?”

She laughed harder and then tried to calm herself down, “Woo, man,” she wiped tears from her eyes, “I just think it’s hilarious how easy it is for you to call Riley my girlfriend when I’m not even the one sleeping with her.”

Suddenly, the whole table turned to a ghost town aside from Maya’s uncontrollable cackling. Riley sunk her arms and Farkle’s ears, neck, and chest turned bright pink.

“Oh my,” Smackle squeaked from next to her boyfriend of three months, Zay.

Lucas wrapped his arm around Maya and looked at the group awkwardly, “Alright honey I think that’s our cue to leave. Bye everyone,” he said as he ushered a still laughing Maya away from the table, grabbing both of their trays in the process.

“Yeah uh, Iz I think we should head out too. You promised me you find that one book in the library, remember?” Zay said, very clearly trying to make a break for it in anyway he could.

“No, I have no memory of this.”

Zay opened his eyes wider, signaling urgency. Finally, Smackle caught on, “Oh yes. That book,” she fake remembered. “Let’s go,” and, with that, they ran off after Maya and Lucas.

It was quiet for a little bit, with Farkle trying to piece together what had just happened and Riley trying to find the courage to come out of the hiding place under her arms.

“Well. At least Maya and I won’t slut shame each other anymore?” He reasoned weakly, as he stared at his unfinished peanut butter and jelly.

Riley groaned.

“Hey, I mean, this isn’t that bad,” he continued, swiveling to face her this time, “I mean, it’s not like we were keeping it a secret or anything. Were we?”

Finally, Riley uncovered her face and looked at him tiredly, “I don’t know Farkle. I mean, we’ve been together but not together for like nine months now and we’ve never even talked about what we are or what we’re doing or where we’re going. What are the rules here?”

Farkle’s mouth was dry. He never brought up the talk because he didn’t want to scare her away. Neither of them had ever been good at relationships and now that he had her in his grasp, he didn’t want to lose it.

“I didn’t realize that there were supposed to be rules,” he trailed off.

Riley scoffed and gathered her things, trying not to let the tears fall in front of him, “Yeah well you also didn’t realize that all I want is to be your girlfriend. And they call you a genius.”

And then, it was just Farkle at the lunch table, and it was his turn to hide and groan.

+

Over the past nine months, Farkle’s bay window visits had grown substantially in frequency, but this time he was nervous. It probably had something to do with the fact that he hated himself for ruining the best thing that had ever happened to him, but he ignored that and tapped on the locked window. She must have known that he would try to stop by.

“Go away, Farkle,” he heard Riley snap, muffled slightly by the glass.

“Please, Riley, can we just talk about this? Unlock the window, please.”

He rested his head against the window in frustration and sighed, You really did it this time, Minkus.

And then suddenly, his head was no longer on the window, but inside of Riley’s room, landing with a thump.

“Sorry,” Riley apologized, completely deadpanned and full of zero remorse.

He climbed in and rubbed his forehead, “It’s fine. I deserved that.”

She had moved back to her bed and was facing the wall in front of her instead of him, clutching a pillow, “Yeah. You did.”

Farkle then noticed that the pillow had mascara stains on it and his heart sank so deeply.

“Riley, I know I handled this whole situation, you and me, the complete wrong way. I just, I don’t know what’s wrong with me sometimes. I just got so caught up in how great things were I forgot or didn’t realize how amazing things could be if we just talked about it. I was selfish. I didn’t want things to get ruined so I strung us both along for almost a year and I’m sorry. I understand if you never want to talk to me again but,” he sighed and rubbed the back of his neck, I love you, “But, please just know that I would never want to hurt you.”

Her eyes broke away from the wall and turned to him. She saw how tired he looked and it had only been three and a half hours since they had last spoke. She knew she shouldn’t let him off that easily, but she also knew she wanted nothing more than to have him hold her and whisper sweet nothings into her ear.

“Farkle,” she began as she moved off of her bed and next to him, clutching his hand into hers. The bracelet she had given him had lost almost all of its integrity and color, but it was still seared into his skin. “You’re not selfish. I didn’t speak up either. But being scared isn’t an excuse, for either of us. So, right here, right now, we need honesty. One hundred percent, complete, and total honesty.”

He smiled at her, “I can do that.”

Placing her free hand over their conjoined ones, she whispered, “How do you feel about me? Am I just a nine month long booty call to you?”

He scoffed, “Of course not. Are you serious right now?

She looked incredibly serious.

“Oh my God you are serious. Alright, well. No. You’re not a booty call. You never have been and you never will be. You’re my best friend, and you’re also everything I’ve ever wanted or needed out of a partner, a teammate. Riley, you’re everything to me.”

“But you told Smackle that being a girlfriend and being a best friend are different,” she asked warily.

“With her, they were. Smackle and I never had what we have. We have,” he turned to face her and grabbed both of her hands, “We have history. We have a near life long bond. For us, being best friends and being more isn’t that far of a stretch. Name one thing that is noticeably different from before.”

Riley giggled and traced the bruise on his lower neck, “Well, this is certainly a new development.”

He laughed and grabbed the hand she was using to trace the bruise and brought it to his mouth, kissing it sweetly. “Besides that, nothing has changed. We are still us. Late night movie marathons, bagel runs, and mix cds, everything that we had is still what we have. And what we have is perfect.”

“But what is it that we have? Are we dating, are we friends with benefits? What is happening?”

He looked into her eyes deeper than he ever had before and drop his voice to a more serious tone, “What do you want?”

“I wasn’t lying when I made my resolution this year. I wanted to fall in love.”

The past tense stings, “Oh, well what do you want now.”
“I don’t want anything more. I already have you,” she pauses and smiles at him, “My resolution has been fulfilled.”

His heart stops and then starts going again at a mile a minute.

“Wait so does that mean that,” he was trying to stay calm but he couldn’t help the goofy smile breaking across his face.

“Yes. I love you, Farkle Minkus,” the goofy smile mirrored on her face as they giggled ridiculously.

“I love you too. So, so much,” he held his hands and kissed her knuckles again, “Since the first grade.”

She smiled back at him, “I can’t believe it took us ten years to get here, and the whole time we were right under each other’s noses.”

“I know, and now we’re dating,” he said with his smile wide and smug.

Her eyes widened with excitement and she squeezed his hands a little tighter, “We are?”

He laughed excitedly, “If you would do me the honors then yes, I would be honored to be your boyfriend. Beyond honored actually,” he paused, “I can’t think of a word that means more than honored right at this very moment, I’m a little flustered,” Riley laughed at that, “But yeah, will you be my girlfriend?”

“Yes, yes, of course,” Riley cheered as she wrapped her arms around her neck, pulling him in for an embrace.

They stayed like that for a little while until Farkle started giggling.

“Why are you laughing?” Riley asked as she pulled back to look at him.

“I just think it’s funny that we did everything so out of order. We kissed, had,” his voice dropped to a whisper as a joke, “sex, and said I love you all before we started officially dating. Why are we like this?”

She laughed too, resting her head against his shoulder, “Oh well, I guess. Who cares. We’re together now,” she looked back up at him smiled.

He leaned down and rested his forehead on hers, “I’m never going to get tired of saying ‘I love you’ to you.”

Smiling and leaning in to kiss him, she hummed against his lips, “I’m never going to get tired of hearing it. I mean, it took you long enough.”

“That’s really rude, I’m fragile.”

“Whatever. Shut up and kiss me.”

“I mean, if you insist.”

guysssss yurio is 15…… that’s so fucking young that’s only like freshman/sophomore year high school in america and him dating someone like jj or otabek is like dating a high school senior / freshman in college and i know the age difference is just 3-4 but the life experiences/maturity levels are so drastic and different. plus, yurio is obvs a minor while everyone else except minami and guang-hong are adults

let him grow up before exploring any possibility of romance w/ anyone. let him cultivate friendships bc as ep 10 suggests… no one has ever asked to be his friend. i know he has a strong and assertive personality and he can get what he wants but he is still growing up he is still a 15 year old teenage boy and his brain is still developing let him mature a bit

Okay but can you imagine Courfeyrac and Combeferre pining for each other.

They are literally the cliche, boys-next-door, I-can-see-your-room-from-mine, climbing on each other’s rooftops kind of people. It all started when Courfeyrac moved over to the neighborhood from Brazil. They were both in 5th grade and ended up walking to school together most of the time.

They bonded over exploring the forest next to their neighborhood. Combeferre went to find different types of moths and Courfeyrac pretended he was the king of the woods. They would spend warm nights laying on top of the roof with Combeferre pointing out different constellations. They spent winter sledding on a hill nearby their houses.

When Courfeyrac came out to Combeferre as pan during their freshman year of high school, he very carefully did not mention that he had feelings for him. He had relationships, but they ended because his heart was never fully in it. He kept reminding himself that falling for someone who was straight, and his best friend, would never end well.

Combeferre took longer to figure out his sexuality, labeling as demi-romantic bi sometime during college. He also avoided the fact that he came to this conclusion by his feelings for Courfeyrac developing over time.

They met Enjolras their freshman year of college because they were all in the same political science class. All three of them instantly bonded, and it resulted in Enjolras getting insight into both of their feelings.

It isn’t until their senior year when Enjolras, more than slightly tired of being in the middle of his two friends’ obliviousness, practically shuts them in a room together and forces them to talk about their feelings.

Headcanons for Modern Day AU JeffMads (Thomas Jefferson & James Madison):

• Thomas is the leader of the campus’s frat, and James is his second who is always by his side. While Jefferson has the classic douchebag leader vibe, Madison is more of an introvert who doesn’t really care about the parties or the beer or the girls, but simply stays in the frat to be with Jefferson.

• Though Jefferson and Madison show intense homophobia towards the queer couples of the school, it’s only a facade. They have a secret romantic relationship that had lasted since freshman year of high school and because of their place at the college they are forced to keep it secret. The only person that knows is Aaron Burr. He accidentally walked in on them making out.

• The Thomas vs. Alexander battle all started when Hamilton completely demolished anything that Jefferson believed in debate class. After that, Jefferson forced his frat buddies to beat him up and harass him at least once a day. And you better believe that Alex fought back.

• Laurens was furious that Jefferson broke his boyfriend so much. So in return, John broke Thomas’s nose.

• You better believe that Thomas Jefferson vapes.

• James Madison has an intense case a asthma. He’s had it since elementary school.

• Aaron Burr is rather meaningless to Jefferson and Madison. He’s like the friend that you deal with and tell him that he’s great but in reality you don’t like him that much. They won’t let him in their fraternity, but will share gossip and secrets as well as hatred for Alexander Hamilton with him.

• To sum it all up, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison are gay douchebag frat boys who hate pretty much everything.

Countryside bathed in brilliant summer sunlight and hills covered in weeds and daisies was all Riley saw as she climbed out of her taxi. In less than 48 hours she’d be reunited with her friends for the summer and the excitement of it all was starting to get to her.

The six of them, herself included, made a plan to spend 3 weeks of the summer before sophomore year in Texas on Lucas’ family ranch. After incessantly begging her parents to let her go, they finally agreed and she spent every second after that looking forward to the trip. She hadn’t seen any of her friends since before her family left for London so getting to spend 3 weeks with them in the sun was everything to her.

School in the UK lets out earlier than school in the US so Riley arrived in Texas a day and a half before the rest of the gang would. Her parents didn’t see the point in paying to fly her out to NY just so she can take another flight to Texas. So instead she hopped on a plane from London straight to Austin.

Lucas’ grandfather was more than willing to help her get settled in and show her the ropes of country life. He took a real liking to her the last time she visited, back in middle school, so he was excited to have her back.

Riley took a deep breath and looked around at the hot and cloudless lazy summer day. She had to cover her eyes for the sun was too bright but once her eyes adjusted she couldn’t help but let out a soft gasp at her surroundings. She forgot how beautiful it was.

She breathed in the fresh air around her and let out a genuine smile.

Being short sucks.

I’m a short freshman in a public high school (5 foot) and at least everyone I know is taller than me. Some more than others. But the is my one good friend who is around 6'2" and he usually walks me to class with his arm resting on my head or shoulder. Now I don’t mind this I find it quite amusing but not some of the teachers. The other day the bell for out first class rang and we were walking down the hall. Everything was going smooth until a teacher stopped us and told the guy “y'know she isn’t going to get any taller if you keep weighing her down like that.” This was all fine and dandy until I realized the teacher just roasted me and my tall friend. I laughed about it for the rest of the day though.

Klance American Dragon AU
  • Keith is the protector of magical creatures all over America, but at the moment he is living and training with the current American dragon- his sister-in-law Allura, who owns a shop with her husband/his brother Shiro.
    • Yes, this means Coran is Fu Dog (I’m sorry I didn’t know how to slot him into this AU)
    • Shiro doesn’t have dragon powers, whereas Allura does. He feels left out sometimes, but it’s something he can’t help.
  • He goes to high school, where he’s a Junior.
    • His best friends are Hunk and PIdge.
    • Hunk and Pidge are some of the smartest kids in his class
    • Everyone absolutely underestimates Hunk and takes him at face value, but they learnt absolutely otherwise when he floors everyone everyone in exams and coursework.
    • Pidge is actually freshman-age, but she skipped a couple of grades because she’s a whiz kid.
  • Keith totally has a crush on one of the popular guys- Lance McClain.
    • Of course, Lance is Keith’s arch nemesis: Huntsboy.
    • Lance, similarly, lives and trains with his ‘uncle’ Zarkon a.k.a The Huntsman.
    • Lance also has a dragon marking on his right arm.
    • When Keith found out about Huntsboy and Lance, he was heartbroken and stayed in his room for like 2 weeks, playing Taylor Swift.
  • Iverson is the equivalent of Professor Rotwood
    • No one likes him
    • He’s full of shit

When I was a freshman in high school there was a boy named Chris who was a senior who had autism and he really loved Hotwheels. He always wanted to show people his tiny cars and instead of the popular crowd making fun of him they got excited with him. On his birthday everyone bought him Hotwheels and he went home with a backpack full of them. For homecoming they voted him king and gave him a cape with Hotwheels on it. Sometimes high school isn’t so bad.

Love in an Elevator

you know that feeling when you have a lot of feelings about someone and you wish you could just get stuck in an elevator and talk it all out?

… that.

March 4th, 1997

Dean couldn’t believe it. Of all the people he could possibly have got himself stuck in an elevator with, it just had to be Castiel Novak.

For most of their freshman year, they’d done a pretty good job of avoiding each other on their college campus. Most people didn’t even realise that they knew each other, let alone that they’d almost dated in high school. Their friend groups were entirely separate and they didn’t share any classes. The only thing they had in common was the building they lived in - a fourteen-storey monstrosity with a cold, clammy back stairwell that was best avoided. Dean had never known the alternative - a slightly old, but reliable elevator - to ever malfunction before.

Except here he was, punching Request Assistance repeatedly at one in the morning, with Castiel Novak behind him.

“I think the assistance is putting up some resistance,” Castiel said. His tone was awkward, a quandary of familiarity and distance. Dean resisted the urge to round on him crossly, keeping on punching.

“Guess so,” he said, fake polite. “It does say twenty-four hour help on the sign here, though.”

“Then I suppose we should expect them in twenty-four hours.”

“Yeah, that’s not what it… ugh, whatever.” Dean tried hitting the button from a different angle. “Come on. Come on.”

Castiel stood silently just behind his shoulder. The elevator wasn’t that small, but it certainly felt more cramped now that they were stuck in here without any sign of imminent escape. Dean had so nearly hopped back out of the elevator as soon as Castiel had walked in after him, nose in a book, apparently oblivious to the world. He’d always been like that, Dean remembered. Always in another world. No, that wasn’t quite right. Always in this world, and yet somehow making it a little more otherworldly just by seeing it a little strangely.

Or something.

God, and Dean had been doing so well at not meeting Castiel. He’d made it six whole months. Six whole months. And then the universe had trapped him, cornered him. Suffer, it seemed to say. I will see you suffer. And Dean was suffering. He smacked his hand against Request Assistance, uselessly.

Love and Kindness {S.M}

non-requested// imagine where you and Shawn went to high school together and he wasn’t so nice to you, but you run into one another and things are different

author’s note// sorry i haven’t posted in like seventeen million years but i hope you guys like this one!!

masterlist

You were bullied your senior year of high school. Freshman through junior year were fine, since you lived in Texas, and you had friends and you were actually kind of popular and super good at volleyball.

Then you moved to Canada for your senior year because your dad got some transfer in his job and you had to move to some stupid town in Canada.

And jeez, those stereotypes about Canadians being nice isn’t all that true.

There was a group of kids who just really hated you. Like for some reason, they hated every little thing you did. It started when you asked one of them who was in your Current Issues class, who looked pretty decent and kinda looked like one of the girls on your volleyball team back in Texas, when volleyball tryouts were. Turns out she was most certainly not the type to play volleyball, cause when the word came out of your mouth, she cackled and the other two girls who heard started laughing as well, as if you had just dropped the most hysterical line in all of history. Ever since then, they decided to make your life a living hell, especially that Lauren girl who you talked to that first day of school and her boyfriend Shawn.

Shawn was simply the worst. Shawn was on the hockey team, and you could tell that the one you went to, which you were harassed at, he was extremely good. When you first saw him, he seemed like a nice guy. You thought you’d strike up a conversation with him during AP Humanities. Didn’t work out well. He made fun of your accent, which you didn’t really think existed and the fact that you were wearing a Beatles shirt. It still didn’t make any sense whatsoever, but it happened. And he also made your life a living hell, but it was whatever. It only lasted for one year, and as soon as you walked on that stage and got your diploma (Shawn and Lauren’s posse booed you, and they got shushed but it didn’t change the fact that you were legitimately booed at your own freaking high school graduation) you were out of there. You packed your things, and you were on your way to Stanford.

Since you didn’t really have any friends and your rec volleyball team you joined was absolute trash, you had more than plenty of time to ace your SAT’s and keep a 4.5 GPA (cause of the honors and AP classes) so you got into Stanford. You were so happy to leave, in fact, you were ten times more than happy. You moved out before summer was even over, cause you couldn’t bear ever see these wretched people ever again. Your parents understood. Your parents loved you and missed you after you left, but they sure understood why you never wanted to come back to that town.

And you usually didn’t. Stanford was great, the people there were great, there was a pretty good volleyball team, and you were getting your degree in Criminal Law. Like, life was pretty great. You went back “home” every holiday, and for some birthdays and surprise visits, but it wasn’t often. You managed to not run into any of them, for the most part. You saw Lauren once, but she didn’t see you and you saw Ian at Home Depot and he waved at you, a wave you didn’t return. And you saw Shawn all of the time, since he had kind of become a world famous pop star. So you saw his face a lot of places, but it didn’t bug you. You didn’t have to deal with him harassing you. For the most part.

Your hands gripped the wheel of your car as you drove down the highway. You had just landed back in Canada, and rented a car. Your knuckles turned a bright shade of white as you clutched the steering wheel. You were back in town for your Dad’s birthday, you hadn’t been able to make his birthday last year due to some pretty important exams. And your Dad meant the world to you, so you made a big effort to be here this year, even though he wanted to go out to eat at the place that everyone always goes to for any and every event, so you’d for sure see someone you knew. Somehow. You were ten miles away from the restaurant, and your heart was beating a million miles a minute. You were nervous just to be back in the country. You were nervous you were going to see them again. You were nervous they were going to make fun of your Stanford hoodie, or the fact that you wore tall fuzzy socks over your leggings, or the fact that you breathe. Because those thinks aren’t above them two years ago, you don’t think they’d be above it now. You felt the air in your car getting thicker, and you couldn’t breathe. You felt all the words rush back.

This hadn’t happened in a year. This hadn’t happened in a year, even when you came back just two months ago for Christmas, you hadn’t felt this way. Heck, last time you were here you saw Lauren, and this didn’t happen. Your vision started to get blurry, and you knew you needed to pull over. You saw the sign of a 7/11 and somehow managed to pull in and park without running someone over or hitting a lamp post by some stroke of luck. You quickly removed your seat belt at the speed of light and hopped out of your rental car, praying you didn’t throw up before you got out, so you didn’t have to pay to get it cleaned. By yet another stroke of luck, you make it out of the car before you threw up. All over the concrete. You threw up because you were nervous about the off chance of seeing some people you didn’t particularly care for. You heaved, trying to catch your breath and make your head stop spinning. The words they had said throughout that year started to fade from yells into whispers and you could again see the pattern of the birds on your shoes.

“Y/n? Is that you?” You heard a voice call, and you knew that voice so well. You felt like you were going to throw up again.

You looked up, your long hair flipping up, and pulling it back behind your shoulders and wiping your mouth as you looked in his direction. His arms were crossed over his chest, as he leaned back on his black jeep. His lips were turned up in a teasing smirk as he saw your face, white as a ghost. He was wearing all black, which you had noticed he had adopted after he became famous, because you never remembered him wearing black skinny jeans once.

“Shawn?” You questioned, knowing damn well that it was him. He let out a chuckle as he pushed himself up from his car, talking long strikes towards you. You winced with every step that he took. You wondered what he would say. You wondered what he would make fun of you for. Would he remind you of something you did in high school that no one else would ever remember but him?

“You okay?” He put his hand on your back, not seeming so disgusted by the puke pooling at your feet. You craned your neck so that you could face him. You furrowed your eyebrows and gave him the most confused look you could muster.

“Is this some kind of joke?” You laughed, shrugging his hand from your shoulder. He sucked in a breath, obviously not expecting that one, but he didn’t get angry or try and defend himself.

“No.” He answered simply. He looked down at his hands. He started to mess with his fingers. He seemed almost… nervous?

“Am I on some television show? Is your manager around?” You kept going, probably going a little further than you needed to. But he went a little further than he needed to all of high school.

“No, I promise.” He let out a little chuckle. He was about to put his hand on your shoulder but he caught himself rather quickly.

“Well, I’m gonna go! I wish I could say it was good seeing you!” You started for your car door, but his hand grabs onto your wrist. You felt your pores seethe, but not necessarily with anger.

“Y/n, come on.” You looked up, and you looked into his eyes, accidentally of course.

Okay maybe not.

“I’m sorry.” He started. His eyes bore into your soul, and you couldn’t tell if he was as good an actor as he is a singer. You looked down at his hand on your wrist, but you didn’t pull away. You stood there, his large hand wrapped around wrist, both of your eyes locked on your skin touching his skin.

“That’s nice to hear.” You managed to get out before you shook your wrist away. Yanking it away seemed a bit extra.

“Hey, how about I drive you to wherever it is you’re going, and I can bring you back afterwards. You’re sick, I don’t want you driving.” Was this Shawn? Was this the kid that joked around that for Halloween he was going to dress as you, but he may traumatize some kids.

“Um.. I don’t know.” Your hand slid onto your car door handle, starting to open it.

“It isn’t a trap or whatever. Like, I’m just worried about you.” He looked down at his hands again, this time very obviously nervous.

“I’m going to dinner with my parents…” Your hand stayed on the silver handle, but didn’t open it.

“I can go with you, or wait in the car, or go somewhere else. Please, I can make it up to you, since I was a little mean to you senior year.” He muttered. You let out a sharp scoff.

“A little mean?” He looked up at you, wincing just like you were only moments ago when he was walking towards you. “You harassed me, Shawn.” He nodded.

“I was. I’m sorry. Please, let me make it up to you. We can catch up?” He suggested. You contemplated for a moment. Why would you get into a car with this dude? He will probably lock the doors and start roasting you within three or four minutes. Once a jerk always a jerk.

“Yeah sure.”

What the hell? Did you actually just agree to get in a car with a guy who caused you to go to therapy for two years? Honestly? What is wrong with you?

But his eyes lit up, and he took your hand, and laced his fingers with his. You were about to pull away but your skin started to crawl, but the feeling wasn’t disgust. If you didn’t know any better, you would’ve said that feeling was sparks.

You made your way to Shawn’s car, your fingers still laced together, your entire body feeling alive. It was so weird. He even opened the door for you? Two years ago he would’ve probably slammed a door right on your face, breaking your nose. You got in, and he ran around to the other side, jumping in and turning on the car.

“So, where are you going?” He asked, backing out of the parking spot.

“Alo.” You looked out the window, trying to push that nausea back down your throat. But it felt a little more like butterflies than it did nausea.

“Oh, wow. I used to love that place. I think Hannah works there, or maybe Lauren?” He looked off a little, thinking. “I don’t really remember. I don’t really talk to any of them except for Ian.” He shrugged.

“Yeah I don’t really talk to any of them either.” You scoffed, looking away from Shawn quickly, in case he looked over. So he wouldn’t know you were looking at him.

“Yeah, I mean, I’d understand why.” He laughed, trying not to make it awkward, but it was already too late. “So um.. How’ve ya been?” He didn’t look in your direction, which was good because you looked at him and it would’ve been extremely awkward if you made eye contact.

“Good. Stanford is nice.” You stated simply, not going too into detail. He didn’t deserve to know all about your personal life. But you ached to tell him more.

“Wow, Stanford? That’s amazing!” This time he did look in your direction, and when his eyes met yours, it wasn’t all that awkward. In fact, you could’ve sworn you saw him blush. But maybe it was just a trick of the light.

“Yeah. Had plenty of time to study since I didn’t have any friends whatsoever!” You laughed, killing whatever mood it was that was there only seconds before.

“Oh..” He trailed off a little. “I mean, you have friends at Stanford though, right?” He looked over for just a second, and then averted his gaze back to the road.

“Yeah, plenty. Some of them asked me if I knew you, actually. There’s a few big fans of yours in my dorm. After I told them what high school I went to, I’m surprised they didn’t go into cardiac arrest.” Shawn let out a laugh, which surprised you. He had only ever laughed at you when he was making fun of you or making a joke at your expense.

“You’re funny, you know that? God, why was I so mean to you?” He glanced at you again, and this time you were absolutely certain he was blushing. “I mean you’re actually not bad. Better than not bad. I mean you’re absolutely stunning. You’re funny. God, Y/n, I’m sorry.” He let out a breath. You weren’t sure if he was faking it.

Did he just call you stunning?

“Oh wow..” You sputtered, trying hard just to get words out. “Thank you. I mean, not thank you, but I appreciate the apologies and the… t-the compliments” You scooted closer to the window, trying to move away. But it was a car, and it was actually kind of hard to scoot away from someone in the car.

“It isn’t a problem. I mean, saying nice things and driving you. It’s the least I can do.” He chuckles, turning into the restaurant parking lot. “What do you say tomorrow I drive you to a restaurant again, but this time, I will actually go and eat with you instead of waiting in the parking lot to take you home?” He had parked and was looking right into your eyes, and this time, you were the one blushing.

“Wait, you want to go on a date with me?” You probably shouldn’t have asked that.

“More or less.” He smiled, and looked down. “It’s only the least I can do.” He looks back up and the smile is gone, and only a look utmost sincerity was plastered across his face. You felt so many things wash over your body, and you couldn’t quite control your words or emotions. So all you could manage to get past your lips was;

“Yes.”

The look of sincerity was overtaken with a look of pure excitement, that was obvious he was trying his hardest to suppress it.

“Well okay. That’s great. So um..” He looked down again. He kept doing that. “I’ll wait here. You go eat with your family. And when you get back, we can make plans for tomorrow, eh?” You only nodded in agreement, quickly hopping out of the car and scurrying into the restaurant.

You started to feel nauseous again.

Wait no, that’s butterflies

Yeah for sure, butterflies.
