Marcus wakes up thirsty.

He blinks, scrubbing at the corners of his eyes. There’s a suspiciously crusty stain on the inside of his bedspread; it isn’t white, but it’s not not white, either. He doesn’t know which pledge had laundry duty last week, but he thinks it was probably Goyle. Goyle always forgets to add detergent. Possibly, Goyle isn’t actually aware he’s supposed to add detergent.

Whatever.

Marcus rolls over. His tongue is sticking to the roof of his mouth, and his throat feels dry and rough and a little like he might’ve accidentally gargled paint thinner. A strange burning sensation is piercing his gut; if he concentrates, he can almost trace it back to a gently pulsating spot between his tonsils.

Swallowing hurts.

Swallowing hurts a lot.

He vows not to try that again, and then idly wonders if he’s getting sick. That would suck. Hooch is picking captains at the end of the week, and Marcus would really enjoy stripping that fuzzy felt “C” off Wood’s jersey. Especially now. Especially after three months of silence and stupid passive aggressive Snap stories featuring way too many fishing boats. And lakes. And sad, ugly, shirtless Canadian bros who definitely didn’t need to, like, molest Wood so thoroughly.

Jesus.

Marcus’s stomach rumbles.

He instinctively swipes at his teeth with the tip of his tongue.

FFXV Second Play Through Thoughts

So I am doing a second play through (Just finished Chapter 7) of FFXV (of course as a new game + because who doesn’t enjoy slaughtering beasts and demons at a level 80 when they are level 10?) and there are so many things I am noticing that I did not notice the first time:

- First play through I never truly appreciated how beautiful of a man Ignis really is in this game.

- I feel like Ignis had to be aware to some degree that the reason the wedding was being held in Altissia was because Regis felt something might go down.  I can’t fully believe that Ignis didn’t have some inkling on what was to come.

- It became very apparent to me how ok Lunafreya and Noct were about marrying each other.  I mean they weren’t ok with the circumstances, but the fact that it would be to each other they seemed totally fine with.

- Ignis’s back flips during battle are everything.

- I can’t not believe that the boys didn’t give Prompto shit for taking a ‘self defense’ training class with Cor prior to departing on the trip.

- Cor clearly cares about the well being of Prompto.

- I get Xenia Warrior Princess vibes from Monica.  I wish we got more screen time from her.

- If I was Gladio I would have been way more angry that Iris didn’t call me first before Noct.

- Ardyn is still the personification of stranger danger.

- The first time around I missed that Sania was at Hammerhead and Gladio was talking with her.  I could only imagine what they were talking about lol.

- I feel like Takka lived for some in depth conversations about recipes with Ignis.

- Prompto clearly had it bad for Cindy, I mean pick that man’s jaw up off the floor bad for her.  His feelings for Aranea and Iris were more casual “hey those girls are cute…” sort of thing.

- Noctis was a cocky little shit in Chapter 2.

- I still think the guys are idiots for taking Ardyn up on his ‘offers’.

- Did Carbuncle always photo bomb my photos or did that come from an update?  Because it’s god damn cute.

- Base Busting is still as funny as it was when I did my first play through and Prompto really needs to start a side business doing this.

- The little details are still amazing the second time around.

- Apparently Iris can ride Chocobos and I never knew and her Chocobo in my game was hot pink and it was everything.

- Iris should have just come along for the whole journey, she is queen.

- Talcott talking about his late grandfather still breaks my fucking heart.

- Replaying the game makes me think that the girl Gladio meets during the ten years of darkness is someone who works at the power plant in Lestallum.  I think the big guy has a thing for built women.

- I haven’t watched Kingsglaive but is Loqi and Caliglio in that movie?  They just seem so random in this game to me.

- I feel like Dustin is the ninja assassin in the crownsguard and you can’t convince me otherwise.

- I love Prompto, don’t get me wrong, but my god sometimes he can be such a whiny bitch. It makes me wonder how on earth Ignis put up with that on their journey.  Like I just envision Ignis yelling at him in the Regalia saying “he should have went when they were at the last rest stop and that he needs to hold it” since he will not pull over just so he can go pee and then Noct making some comment about going off the side and Ignis getting more mad lol.

- How many books did Gladio bring on this trip?  So far I have seen a total of 3 different books.

- I get the Ignis/Aranea shippers…I 100% get it now and I am on board.  I just want them to out sass each other and end up making out.

- I also am 100% in Gladnis hell on second play through.

- And I am still on the Noct/Iris train.  I am really loving Iris more playing the second time.

- I need more Cor in my life, thank the six he is in Gladio’s DLC.

- Cid reminds me of a guy that has seen some shit in his life time and will never let you forget that fact.

- I really need to know what the Reggie/Cid fallout was.

- Even on second play through I still needed to give Prompto Chocobos over Gladio needing to make sure his sister was ok in Lestallum.  He just needs to ride those Chocobos all day!

- I used to think I had a bad coffee addiction, until I was introduced to Mr. Ignis Scientia who quite literally gets cravings during battles and at inappropriate times.  Like, Iggy seriously get your shit together.

- This game had some very under used strong female characters and I am very upset they were not used to their fullest.

- Aranea needs a spin off game.

- When Aranea is talking with Prompto about MT’s being demons my heart just broke and I cried a thousand tears.  I am still unclear as to if he really knew he was an MT at that point (I mean I know he knows he was from Niffelheim) but the fact that he might have just made that conversation even harder to hear.

- Anyone else get the vibe that maybe Cindy either swings both ways or is into the ladies based on the fact that she coaxed Holly with a dinner?  Just something about the way Holly talked about it made me get that vibe.  Maybe it’s not so much that she is married to her job as it is that she plays for the other team.  Or maybe Holly is really into her?  I am ok with either.

- Dino is just a gigolo trying to make that dolla.

- Ardyn is still stranger danger 101.

- The Titan battle is hands down the best battle of the whole game.

- Also I don’t know how I missed the Fallgrove tomb being robbed and having no weapon in it the first play through I did.

- Gladio is way too casual about his scars when he rejoins the group.  I would have never let him just brush it off like that.  I mean the man’s chest looks like he just had open heart surgery.

- Also how could Noctis not know the hunter in the power plant was Gladio…it was painfully obvious even when you had the sound on mute.

- I definitely yelled at my TV screen “Fuck you Holly I am getting these demons even if I melt to death in this power plant” when she came over the radio telling me to abort the mission.

- I still overwhelmingly really love this game.

I will post again when I play through the rest of the game.  But I can not wait for the Gladio DLC at the end of the month.  Cor and him are looking so fine in that trailer.  Also anyone else getting the vibes that Cor is really immortal from that?  If he is I called it months ago lol.

x-gabs-x  asked:

Please can you write about Magnus realising he's in love with Alec and then Alec realising he's in love with Magnus?? 🙂

So this was supposed to be a small cute ficlet and it isn’t now so I’m sorry.

Magnus wasn’t completely sure when it happened. He’d like to say that it was right at the beginning, the first moment he caught Alec in his eyeline, highlighted by the lights of Pandemonium. But he’s ninety percent sure that he’d be lying if he said that. The large part of him, (the ninety percent part) thinks that he just viewed Alexander Lightwood as something that was forbidden. To Magnus, he was like the forbidden fruit on the tree of Knowledge, something to be observed and incorruptible but Magnus always did enjoy a challenge. He’s embarrassed to admit it but, in the first few moments of being in Alec’s company, he did only view him as a challenge.

But that thought quickly changed.

In one moment, Magnus had gone from viewing Alec as a challenge, to thinking something different, something more. The feeling was something more than he had ever felt before, it was different but in such a good way. Watching the way that Alec would observe every little movement, Magnus assumed he was assessing the area for any clear threats. The feeling would start in his chest and it bloomed at the sound of Alec laughing. Magnus might not have been prepared to put a name to the feeling but he was sure that he could easily become addicted to it.

***

The thing within him is always there, it becomes an underlying presence, whether Alec is there or not. It seems to lift its head when it hears Alec being mentioned and it positively preens when Alec is right there. It purrs affectionately when Alec touches him and Magnus is always so close to just letting it take the reins but he stops the urge.

But Magnus figures out what it doesn’t like and, if he’s being honest, Magnus doesn’t like it either.

When Magnus sees Alec standing on that ledge, so close to falling, Magnus doesn’t even think. He just lets his magic take over. There is a moment where he thinks that he’s not going to be quick enough and, as soon as that thought passes over him, the thing inside him lurches up, forcing Magnus’ magic out.

When Magnus has Alec in his arms, holding him and soothing him, he knows right then, with complete certainty that the feeling isn’t just love. It’s something stronger than that, its love and its affection, its Alec’s laugh, its Alec’s power. It’s Alec’s essence.

Magnus had never really believed in soulmates. How could he? He was immortal so did he have a soulmate? Did he have several? The idea of it all was good, amazing even, but it didn’t really work for him. But when he looks at Alec, when he stares into his eyes and sees the night sky in them, Magnus thinks, soulmates exist. When Alec smiles at him as if Magnus is the only thing that exists, Magnus thinks, soulmates exist. When Alec laughs, the sound is music to his ears. It makes him wonder if Alec really is an angel and it makes Magnus think, soulmates exist. When Alec is panting beneath him, arching into his touch, Magnus thinks, soulmates exist. When Alec is curled into him, nuzzling into his chest and snoring softly, Magnus thinks, soulmates exist and Alec is mine.

***

Alec doesn’t normally feel anything for anyone outside of his immediate family, and sometimes, not even that is true. He knows what strong feelings feel like but he’s never really been lucky enough to feel them. At one point, he thought that his feelings towards Jace were something a little bit more, something more definitive and permanent.

But all that had disappeared with the appearance of Magnus.

Magnus, who seemed to have an aura that just seemed to radiates sensuality. Magnus, who had the skill of scaring people into submission but was only ever soft and caring towards Alec. Magnus, who looked at Alec as if he personally placed every star in the sky. He made Alec feel something so strong and different, something that was wildly different from whatever he felt for Jace.

He knows he should act on it. But he decides not to.

***

It isn’t until Magnus walks into his wedding, standing there for Alec to decide on his future, does he think about changing his mind overall not acting on it thing. When their lips meet, there is a spark of electricity and Alec thinks, this is it. The feeling that Alec felt when he first locked eyes with Magnus flares back up again, as if it’s a firework that was just waiting for the right match. In that moment, Alec forgets about everything else. He forgets about where he is, he forgets about how many people’s eyes are on him. All he cares about is being in this moment with Magnus.

The firework show within him only simmers down when they both come up for air. Looking at Magnus now, Alec sees something that wasn’t there before, or something that is soft and abstract and he thinks, this is love.

***

Alexander Gideon Lightwood is a Shadowhunter. A Shadowhunter who is strong and smart. He knows how to fight with his fists as well as with a variety of different weapons. He knows how to look after those he loves dearly. He knows how to make his way through an argument and win. He knows exactly what to say and he knows what path or action is the right one.

Alexander Gideon Lightwood is Magnus Bane’s boyfriend. He is the one who makes Magnus laugh as if he’s the funniest person on the planet. When Magnus touches him, Alec feels a spark of electricity and he feels love. Every time Magnus plays with his magic, flicks of blue and yellow and red mixing together in a ball of light, Alec feels love.

Alexander Gideon Lightwood is a Shadowhunter. Sometimes, shadowhunters view relationships and commitment as a business transaction, something that must occur for the reproduction of their race. But when Alec looks at Magnus, humming while he’s fixing several different potions, he feels only love. When he looks at the ring decorating his finger, he doesn’t think that this is a means to an end.

He thinks,

Soulmates exist and I have found mine.

I hope you liked it!!

“I’m so sorry.” he said in a shy voice.

“That’s all right. What’s your name?” I questioned.

“My name’s Harry Potter, although most people call me Vampire these days.” he grumbled.

“Why?” I exclaimed.

“Because I love the taste of human blood.” he giggled.

“Well, I am a vampire.” I confessed.

“Really?” he whimpered.

“Yeah.” I roared.

Starman

So this is something I wanted to write for the better part of the last year but never really found the right words. Now, with the anniversary just a couple days ago, I finally feel like I can post it. It’s short, but somewhat personal. It’s not really a tribute because I don’t think I could ever do this brilliant man justice, but it’s… something.

Beware, sad Magnus ahead.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Alec didn’t think much of the music he heard as soon as he entered Magnus’ apartment.

It wasn’t unusual for the warlock to listen to something while he worked. Sometimes it was classical music, or operas, or even traditional songs from cultures long forgotten. Sometimes it was rock or metal, blasting from the magically enhanced speakers so loudly that the windows shook in their frames. Sometimes it was modern pop, things that Alec had heard playing from mundane phones or performed on the streets or in subway stations. There didn’t seem to be any distinguishable pattern to it, as far as Alec could tell. Magnus just listened to whatever music fit his mood at the time.

Alec hung his bow and quiver up in the closet along with his leather jacket, and the song ended and another began. He stopped for a moment, listening to the lyrics about a man waiting in the stars, which didn’t make much sense to Alec. Even so, he was pretty sure he had heard this song somewhere before.

He moved to the living room, where he expected to find his boyfriend. He did not, however, expect to see Magnus sitting on the floor, staring vacantly into space and clutching a handful of wet tissues.

     “You are STUNNING.”

It came out as a whisper, but his voice carried just enough as he stood that very short distance from the water.  The words had tumbled from his lips quicker than he had anticipated and Merlin hadn’t really meant to say them at all.  But in the presence of a creature such as herself, it was not heard to stand like gaping like an idiot.

“That, um– That probably came out the wrong way,” he suddenly added, breathing out a light, distracted laugh.  Any other situation, he would have looked away, but he didn’t.  Not this time.

Part 2: Meeting Bonnie

(Taking place in 2x09)

Imagine: The day after you learn of the existence of the supernatural, you go back to school and meet with Bonnie.

You woke up early. You didn’t have any nightmares which surprised you. You stayed in bed for a few minutes, wondering if you would see Elijah ever again. But did you really want to ? He was an immortal vampire who killed someone in front of you, he was with no doubt extremely dangerous. But you weren’t afraid of him. He didn’t try to hurt. It didn’t seem like he wanted to. Anyway, you realized that you would actually like to see him again. You still had plenty of questions.

You had time to prepare for school and make breakfast. Your stepfather was still laying on the couch, snoring. You knew you had to wake him up, he was going to be angry but he would be less angry if he was on time for work. Besides, you made waffles, bacon and coffee. Maybe, he wouldn’t be that bad.

You turn on the TV and turn up the volume. Maybe he will think he fell asleep in front of the TV and wouldn’t blame you for waking him up. You go back to the kitchen and you hear him get up. He enters the room, eyes almost open.

“I made breakfast” you say, timid.

“Hmm” he answers without even looking at you, putting a waffle in his mouth.

“I’m gonna be late for school” you say before walking out.

You were relieved. He didn’t even look at you and didn’t take your car keys, which meant you could drive to school and be on time for once.

When you got out of your car, you saw Bonnie getting out of hers. Some books fell on the floor and you were about to go help her when you saw Jeremy coming behind her, laughing.

“Here, I got it” he says.

You wondered if Bonnie knew that you knew she was a witch.

You were about to walk away from your car when you heard Bonnie ask Jeremy “Where’s Elena?”

“She’s actually running late today”

You started to worry. You hoped she was okay and that Stefan and Damon did take her home safe.

You hear the Gilbert boy ask Bonnie out, which surprised you. Even more surprising, she says yes.

They are interrupted by someone you don’t remember seeing before. He asks where the principle office was so you guessed he was new. You hear him say his name is Luka. When Jeremy, obviously getting jealous, takes Luka away to the principal office you decide to go talk to Bonnie, something you never did.

“Bonnie !”

She turns around and seemed surprised to see it was you who were calling her.

“Hey” she smiles at you.

“Hi…” you say, timid. “I’m sorry I’m…”

“(Y/N)” she cuts you off.

You’re surprised she knows your name. She’s smiling at you obviously waiting.

“Uh, I’m sorry, I just, uh…” the words don’t seem to want to come out.

Why were you so nervous ?

You clear your throat. “Is Elena okay ? I mean… Did she come home safe ?”

Bonnie looks at you confused. You wondered if she knew you had been taken with Elena at all.

“I was with Elena when those…” you were about to say the word, but you stopped. You never thought you would say “vampire” talking about an actual vampire. If it wasn’t for the bump in the back of your head you would’ve been convinced that you had dreamt it all. “uh, vampires” you whisper, “took us… I woke up alone in the house, I hope she made it home okay ?”

Bonnie is speechless.

“Elena left you there alone ??” she screams, shocked.

“Uh… So she is okay ?” you really want to know if she’s safe, Elijah said that Stefan and Damon were there so you assumed she was back home.

Bonnie looks at you like you’re an alien.

“She leaves you alone in an abandon house and you worry about her?!”

“Well… I mean… I’m fine, so…”

“Yes, she came home last night, safe”.

You breathed out, relieved.

“Oh good, good!”

“I’m sorry, I had no idea you were there with her, I can’t believe she just left you there, she didn’t mention you at all !” she says, obviously still surprised.

That hurts a little. You could’ve died because of her.

“Oh, well, she mentioned you.” You say. “And Stefan and Damon… I know about…”

“She told you who I was ?” she asks.

“You’re a witch” you whisper, “that’s really cool” you say with a little laugh.

Bonnie doesn’t know what to say but “thanks”. She still can’t believe Elena forgot you there, it was unlike her to be so inconsiderate.

“How did you get back home?” she asks.

“Oh, Elijah brought me back” you say.

All the stuffs she was carrying in her arms fell on the floor once again. She was shocked.

“Elijah’s dead” she says

“Oh, no, he can’t die, he told me nothing could kill him” you say, getting down to pick up the books.

Then a thought crossed your mind.

“You didn’t know that, obviously…” you say, a little bit sorry to drop a bomb on her like that.

“We have to tell Elena ! He will come for her, he could be in Mystic Falls right now !”

“He probably is” you say, he brought you here after all. “I’m sorry, I should’ve known you would have want to know he was still alive, it’s just…”

“Are you okay ? Did he hurt you ? Did he threaten you ?” she asks. She’s obviously worried about you, which surprises you.

You frown.

“He didn’t. He was nice. He apologized that I got involved and dropped me off to my house.”

She looked surprised.

“Y/N he’s dangerous. Be careful okay ?”

You frown again. She never met him and she’s telling you he’s dangerous ? At least she’s worried about. But you know she’s right. You know he’s dangerous.

“I will, thank you.”

“We’re gonna be late for class” she says and you follow her into the school.

You can’t focus in class. You can’t stop thinking about Elijah. About vampires and witches being real. You were a year older than Bonnie so you couldn’t talk to her in class and you had so many questions for her. You knew she was going to the Mystic Grills after class to meet Jeremy. You knew she had sent a text to Stefan telling him Elijah was still alive. She didn’t want to freak out Elena.

You went to the Mystic Grill after class. You usually go there to do your homework, you’d rather be there than at home, with your stepfather. He didn’t bother you much but if he was angry and that you find yourself in his way he would take it out on you so you tried to stay away from him as much as you could. You saw Caroline and Stefan there. Which surprised you. You thought Stefan would have been with Elena, worrying about Elijah. You haven’t seen Elena all day, you were getting worried, but you didn’t want to interrupt them, this was none of your business. Sitting down at a table you got out your books, ordered a milkshake and started studying. You held your head up when Bonnie entered the Grill. You saw her talking to Luka and an older guy who was probably his dad. They talked a little when you saw her get unconformable, she got up when Jeremy came over the table and left with him. But when she saw Caroline and Stefan together she looked surprised and went to talk to him. You couldn’t hear what they were saying but suddenly they all turn to look at you. Stefan got up and came over you.

“Elijah’s alive ?” he asks.

So he didn’t get Bonnie’s text.

“Uh…Hello…” you say. You didn’t know what else to say.

“Why didn’t you tell us?” Stefan was obviously angry at you.

“I didn’t know it was so important, I have no idea what’s going on here”

“Besides, you left her there when you went to rescue Elena, how could you do that ?” Bonnie asks, angry for you.

“What ? I had no idea you were there ! Elena didn’t say anything !” he seemed genuinely surprised.

“It’s okay” you say, looking at Bonnie to calm her which made her even more angry.

“No it’s not ! Why aren’t you angry ? I would be really pissed if I were you !”

You look at her, grateful.

“Did he say anything to you ?”Stefan asks

‘I’m sorry… just something about Katerina Petrova ? He asked me if I knew her, but…”

“Okay, thank you.” Stefan cuts you off. “I’m sorry, I really didn’t know you were there”

“It’s okay, really.”

Stefan left with Caroline, asking her where Elena was. Bonnie sat at your table and Jeremy, surprised by her action, sat next to her.

“I don’t understand why you’re not more angry…” she says, looking at you.

“I don’t get angry about anything. It’s just the way I am.” You say. “Besides, it wouldn’t change anything, would it” you say with a smile.

Bonnie smiles back for a few seconds then get up and they leave you alone. You watch them walk away, Bonnie turned to smile at you once again. You wave at her and she waves back. You stared at nothing in particular for a while, wondering if Elijah would actually hurt any of them to get whatever it was he wanted. You wondered about all the things you didn’t know. You thought it might be safer for you not to know them. You shake your head, chasing away the dark thoughts and the worry. Your eyes dropped back to the book you were reading, focusing on your biology lesson.

Hear me out, Alec would propose to Magnus. I’ve mostly seen things of Magnus proposing to Alec, but I just don’t think that would happen. Magnus has mentioned marriage before, and implied how he hasn’t been married or no one has wanted to marry him. I can imagine Magnus proposing to someone when he was ‘younger’ and them turning him down cause immortality or whatever. In fact I can see that happening more than once. So I feel like Magnus would really want to marry Alec, but he wouldn’t ask cause he just thinks Alec wouldn’t want to marry someone immortal. It’s really sad. But it makes Alec’s proposal so much sweeter cause after all this time, Magnus thought no one would want him like that. Alexander Lightwood is full of surprises.

Who is your favorite and least favorite assassin at the Diamonds and why?

“Considering it’s only me and Junior at the minute that’s a pretty easy one, age before beauty, right? So favourite, myself, the main man. Least favourite by default but a very close second, that chiseled guy.”

  • he is dating a soon-to-be idol and his current biggest achievement is his LOLOL rank
  • still, after the initial surprise passes, he decides that he’ll just try harder to get better grades and cheer for MC
  • talks so much about MC and how his lover got scouted to become an idol
  • always wants to know about the whole thing, and likes to sit next to MC to listen to their plans
  • he’s just. so happy to see MC shine?? like MC deserves all the spotlights and he is so overjoyed to see MC getting recognition
  • sure, when he realizes that other people will be cheering for MC, calling MC cute and other… less pretty things, he has to clutch his pillow and bite down his tongue to avoid thinking about it more
  • but when MC is home, where he is the only one for them, he doesn’t mind those thoughts

Jaehee

  • internal conflict Time
  • she’s told herself so many times idols shouldn’t date publicly
  • but now she’s dating MC, who is. an idol
  • honestly, she just fears she’ll ruin MC’s career
  • she can just see them, headlines calling MC desperate for dating a simple and boring woman like herself-
  • MC has to put a stop to her train of thought
    • “What if I cause a scandal for you?”
  • MC talks with Jaehee about it, assuring her nothing bad will happen
    • If anything, the media will love you more than me! Honestly, you’re so cute I wouldn’t be surprised if you got scouted too!”

  • he signs and dances too-
  • would it be too farfetched to imagine maybe he and MC could perform together once?
  • also they’re everyone’s OTP because they are famous and an adorable couple
  • he is always giving MC tips he’s picked up with the years for when they have stage fright or something like that

Jumin

  • but he can clearly see this is a big deal for MC
  • and this is a big deal to him too
  • he’ll try to get C&R to sponsor MC
  • he really dislikes the idea of people drooling over MC and calling them nicknames, though
  • he’s seen how Jaehee acts towards Zen. will there be people with MC photos in their houses? will people frame photos of MC? … he just won’t think about that. forget about that completely, ignore that, and focus only on MC
  • also, when the media tries to imply MC got scouted only because of Jumin’s influence, he’s quick as thunder to shut those rumors down
  • or maybe shut the whole news outlet down, if he’s really feeling angry at them

    • by that I mean probably typing in all caps with “YEAH!!” in the chatroom and in general being super happy for MC
  • And on the other hand he has Existential Crisis
    • like… he knows that when he passes there will probably be little to no trace he existed. even if he stopped everything shady he is doing and decided to live a normal life
    • he is just invisible. literally nothing left when he is gone
    • and MC is now going to probably be immortalized on people’s minds??
  • he doesn’t really know what to do with those thoughts. he never says them out-loud and tries his best to just meme them out of his system
  • still, MC notices, and quickly talks with him
  • by the end, Seven really feels better
    • who cares if the world doesn’t remember him when he’s gone?? like ok cool whatever he has MC right now when he’s alive. existential crisis? more like existential bye-sis
  • makes a triper bot for MC too
  • also spreads MC’s name the same way he did with Zen’s, effectively drawing attention to MC’s debut

Unknown

  • so many people will be looking at MC
  • loving MC
  • he really needs to think for a while
  • he trusts MC with his life, but he can’t help but think MC is too good for him
  • MC deserves a life of glitz and glamour and he just feels like he clearly doesn’t fit in that kind of life
  • he’s scared MC will find out they enjoy being onstage more than being with him
  • what if they leave.
  • what if they leave
  • honestly, MC had thought beforehand Saeran might feel like that; and before his thoughts could spiral out of control, made it clear that they’d much rather lose their status as an idol than dream of leaving saeran
  • since he has trouble with crowds, MC gets him seats that are considered premium and away from all the crowd, but still have amazing view, so he can watch their debut
  • he sees MC being so happy he can’t help but smile through the whole thing

V

  • he’s really happy
  • like really
  • supportive af
  • this man loves MC to death, anything MC accomplishes is The Best Thing Ever to him

  • but damn V’s photos made it look greater
  • it was as if he had captured the glow of MC’s happiness and the cheering of the crowd in a photo somehow??? how???
  • overall he is Supportive and Proud and really really happy to see MC achieving so much bless him
Final Thoughts on FFXV

So, I finished the game a few days ago and needed an outlet for my thoughts and feelings because oh man did Chapter 14 bring the feels train fast and hard. To the point where I am giving PSA’s at work about it to my co workers who are playing the game.

Before I start, I just want to say that I had been following the game development for a few years now and was undecided after playing the Platinum demo how much I was going to like the game.  I am a traditionalist when it comes to Final Fantasy games and when they change things to much I don’t like it (looking at you X-2).  So when I saw the battle system I was a little skeptical that I would like it.  But none the less I gave it a chance especially after all the hype and how well done the Brotherhood anime was.

With that said, there a few things I need to get off my lady chest:

- The throw away dialog and puns in this game were just everything. (What are you my mother?  Mums the word ahahaha)  And the animation in battles and while driving were so fantastic (Ie when your driving Gladio and Prompto start plugging their nose and getting mad at Noctis like he farted in the car.  Like omg lol that is such a bro thing I can’t even.)

- I am fairly certain Regis somehow sabotaged the car to delay the journey long enough so they wouldn’t be anywhere near the Crown City when the NIff’s pulled their bull shit.  I mean Cid more or less implies it in the game and Regis doesn’t seem that stupid to not know it was a trap and wanted to save his son. (hence why the wedding was to be in Altissia)

- How did Gladio get his orginal scars?  Did he get into a fight about cup of noodles defending their honor?  Also what the fuck happened when he went off those few days on his own.  I mean I have theories (see my post below about Gladio and the Cup of Noodles cult) but damn it I will riot in the streets if his DLC doesn’t explain it.

- I really want to know more about the girl Galdio is seeing 10 years later.  I mean he is obviously smitten with her to bring her up to them the eve of their taking the city back.

- Iris is queen.

- Prompto’s heart belongs to Cindy.

- Prompto’s heart also belongs to Noctis (I didn’t get Promptis until I played the game and my god do I ship it.  I ship it so hard.)

- Is it ever explained why Cor is called Cor the Immortal?  Maybe his DLC will explain it but I imagine it’s because either he is really immortal or its a derogatory term used towards him because he always seems to miss the big battles?  I am thinking the later because he doesn’t seem to happy about being called that.

- I feel like Noctis and Luna had this Romeo and Juliet thing going on for awhile.

- I wish they went into their relationship more in the game…I mean obviously there was more to this engagement than just political reasons.  They obviously cared for each other.

- The Chocobo side quests were everything in this game.  I mean they might be my favorite Chocobos in a final fantasy game of all time.

- I may or may not have driven the Regalia in first person view so I could turn the camera directly on Ignis and just stare at that beautiful man’s face for hours.

- “That’s it!  I’ve discovered a new receipe” will now become a trigger of mine.

- Sorry Phichit from Yuri on Ice!! but Prompto Argentum is the new king of selfies.

- Also sooooooo many butt shots in this game.  I mean come on Prompto….we get it you have a thing for butts…expecially Glaido’s butt.

- Prompto really did take the best pictures.  I mean dude’s got a gift. (Also I was undecided if I was going to enjoy this feature in the game but my god if it was not my favorite thing to do out of all the guys special skills.  I loved to see what pictures Prompto took today)

- Speaking of Prompto…all this time I thought his insecurities stemmed from being a ackward fat kid (can so relate to that) but nope, not at all.  Dude had the darkest back story of the game.  I mean after Chapter 13 I just wanted to bundle him up and protect him at all costs.

- Also, apparently he was adopted as a baby but how did he know he was an MT?  Did he just make the connection while they were traveling or did he always know?  Or did Ardyn tell him?  So unclear.

- In the beginning I kind of hated Noctis.  I thought he was just this emo trash kid who was sheltered in life and didn’t want to grow up.  But by the end of it all I was literally on my knees bowing to the almighty true king.  I mean jesus did he redeem himself in the end.

- I’m not ok with the fact that Prompto never met Lunafreya or saw Pryna again.

- I was more upset about Ignis going blind than I was about Luna getting stabbed.

- Ignis being blind the rest of the game was worse than if they just killed him off.  It was so sad to play pretty much 4 chapters watching him struggle.

- I am fairly sure Cid lived with Ignis during the 10 years Noct was gone.  Like Ignis took him in and took care of him while they were in Lestallum.  Iggy is such a stand up guy.

- Ardyn just screamed stranger danger throughout the whole game.  I mean in Lestallum I was screaming at my tv for them to not go with him.  Like really that red convertible was literally a big white shady van.

- Also I feel no sympathy for Ardyn at all.  He was a sick twisted mother fucker.  I mean he had the images of all his ‘kills’ hanging above the thrown.  That is a sick and twisted man-demon.

- However I do feel sympathy for Ravus.  Poor bastard loved Luna so much and was really the casualty of this shitty war between Lucis and Niffilheim.

- The Final Fantasy call backs in this game we great (the soundtracks from old games, Wedge, Biggs, the Spira bank etc etc)

- Noctis sitting on the throne after defeating Ardyn killed me so much.  He was so strong and just accepted his fate.  Poor guy never had a chance for anything else.  God damn destiny.

- Nothing in life has ever made me cry sobbing ugly tears like the camp fire scene during the credits.  I mean I was crying the minuet they were all sitting there silent not wanting to bring up the big white elephant in the room and then Noct just telling them he made peace with his fate and fucking Prompto just sobbing and god damn it even Galdio had tears in his eyes I just couldn’t take it.  It was too much.  I am still not over it and never will be.  I re-watched the scene again on Youtube a few times and I still ugly cry.  No scene in a video game has ever made me that emotional before.

- The scene at the end with Luna and Noct I thought was nice but so sad.  Why couldn’t the six just grant them their lives back for being so pure and good?

- Also, I am certain the chocobros lived.  I think the scene in the afterlife was just Ardyn hallucinating and Noct drawing on their bond to finish them off.  Otherwise why all the emphasis on rebuilding and Gladio making note of the structures being save able and the whole walk tall speech?  Noct was leaving the rebuilding process to them.

- My ending head cannon would be Noct and Luna coming back and the chocobro’s meeting them on the steps of the Citadel and everyone reuniting and Noctis introducing her as his fiance and Luna healing Ignis’s eyes so that he can finally see dawn and everyone giving Gladio shit about the girl he’s been seeing and then teasing Prompto about pursuing Cindy for 10 years.

In the end I got an epic bro road trip that turned into a runaway feels train that came crashing down hard.

But I still loved the game anyways.

Does mono ever cry?

He does actually, when he is really distressed, or because being immortal and literally can’t die, is not that fun, so sometimes he find himself crying over that too
but he also cry when he felt really really happy

Cell's my favorite DBZ character, and I love hearing your thoughts on him. And I think I read he's a favorite of yours too, right? Could you please talk about why you like him?

Yes, Cell is my favorite DBZ character, and yes, I will talk about why I like him.  Let’s get a picture up here to set the mood…

Aw, yeeeeeeahhhh.  Now we’re talking!

I had been watching DBZ casually on Toonami since about 1998, but I didn’t really get interested in the story until Cell showed up in mid-2000.  Specifically, right around the time he achieved his Perfect form and it seemed like Trunks was the only one left to stop him.  When I saw that, I made a conscious decision to really pay attention to this show and watch every episode, because I figured we were finally in the home stretch of the saga, and now we were gonna get this epic showdown like the Goku/Frieza battle.

Along the way, I managed to see enough reruns to piece together how Cell had gotten this far.  Clearly the androids crisis had gotten completely out of hand, and the Z-Fighters had lost control of the situation.  But I was sure it was all coming to and end here, and Trunks was going to step up and save the world from Cell.

Except he didn’t.  Trunks lost.  Badly.  The worst of it was that Cell didn’t even beat him up that much.  He just shrugged off all of Trunks’ offense and deconstructed his new Ultra Super Saiyan Deluxe form.  Meanwhile, Vegeta recovered from getting his ass beat by Cell, but it didn’t really matter, because if he could do any good against Perfect Cell, he already would have.

What blew my mind here was that Cell had won.  He waded balls deep into the android/Z-Fighter conflict and defeated all of them.  Vegeta and Trunks were supposed to be the big trump card to stop this guy, and he played them like a fiddle.  If Cell’s ultimate objective was to destroy the Earth, he could have done it right then and there, and no one could stop it.  Instead, he decided the only sensible thing to do would be to hold a tournament and win all over again

So then I’m just glued to the TV waiting to see how Goku deals with this guy.  Well, it was dumb of me to think Trunks would be the one to beat Cell, but Goku’s the main character.  And he can teleport, so that might give him an edge, right?  Bullshit it will, Goku can’t beat him either.  I had sort of hoped that the Cell Games would allow the other characters to get a second crack at Cell, and maybe some of them would do better, or at least wear him down a little, but no.  Vegeta, Trunks, and Piccolo trained for another year in the time chamber, and they didn’t even try to fight Cell again because they knew they’d never last.  The humans didn’t even bother training for this, because it’d just be a waste of time.  Android 16 got an overhaul, but it didn’t help him at all.  Dumb as it may sound, I was seriously thinking they should bring back Frieza to see if he could do any good against Cell.  You know, pit him against all the guys he was cloned from.

Somewhere along the way, I started to realize that this guy’s awesome.    No matter what they threw at Cell, he had a smug answer to everything.  He can regenerate.   He has Super Saiyan powers.  He knows all the coolest moves.  He can survive in space.  He squeaks when he walks, and he buzzes when he flies.  His carpace and neck flange make him look like Gul Dukat a little.  And his voice is amazing.  He’s this smarmy dickhole who has everyone over a barrel, and he knows it.

I’m not real wild about Frieza, and I guess Cell helped me understand why.  Frieza makes a lot of stupid, lazy mistakes.  If he had been willing to do his own dirty work, he could have gotten immortality within a day of setting down on Namek.  Instead he puttered around in that stupid hovercar of his drinking wine and doing that stupid “ohohoho” laugh while all off his subordinates whizzed his entire plan.  He didn’t start taking things seriously until about four episodes after he was getting his ass kicked by a Super Saiyan on an exploding planet.  I suppose his biggest flaw is that he’s so satisfied that he doesn’t really want anything that badly.  As much as he supposedly craved immortality, he never acted like he was desperate for it or anything, and that lack of motivation really hurts his villain credentials in my book.  It might have helped it he had a terminal illness or something.  A ticking clock to make his quest for eternal life more meaningful.

Cell’s got the reverse of that problem.  He doesn’t really have an end goal in mind.  He’s compelled to become perfect and kill Goku, but that’s just his programming.  Once he becomes perfect, killing Goku becomes a mere formality, and he really has nowhere left to go.  But he still wants that next big challenge.  He can’t just sit in a hovercar sipping space wine.  He’s still driven by the same impulses that made him stalk humans for bio-extract, that made him hunt down the androids.  I’m not sure he can be satisfied.   When he wins all his fights, all he knows to do is to pick more fights, hoping against hope that he can find someone to give him a worthy challenge.   But if he wins, he’s right back where he started, and if he loses…

This isn’t someone who wants to die.  One of my favorite parts of Hellsing is when they explain that vampires ultimately crave to die on their own terms, usually going out in some sort of glorious battle.  The bad guys in that story are willing to kill millions of innocent people just to have their little fantasy demise, which is just about the most selfish thing I can think of.   But Cell isn’t like that.  He’s just as terrified of dying as the next guy.  He’d rather win forever, and somehow find a way to keep fighting worthy opponents on a never-ending undefeated streak that somehow never gets dull or predictable.  It’s an incredibly childish and unrealistic desire, which is why his life is such an existentialist nightmare.  If he wins, he’s bored.  If he loses, he has a complete breakdown.

An important part of a good villain is how they suffer defeat, and Cell knocks it out of the park by turning into a complete chickenshit.  What made the Cell/Gohan fight so incredible was that he was beating the crap out of an eleven-year-old, then he spawned a flock of monsters to terrorize his friends just to make things more interesting, and when Gohan finally began to turn the tables on him, he has the temerity to call Gohan a monster. He gets completely humiliated and beaten down, which is just extremely satisfying for the audience.

To put this in the proper perspective, I was really into comic books around 2000, and it irritated me how most of the best villains never really got any genuine comeuppance for their deeds.  A lot of writers would have the Joker get badly injured, but he’d always come back in perfect health for the next story, and pain never seemed to bother him much anyway.  Dr. Doom and Magneto pretty much get away with everything, and so much time is spent on making them sympathetic that they almost don’t qualify as villains. Most X-Men villains end up joining the X-Men if they play their cards right, which I find hypocritical and confusing.  So watching Cell get beat to a pulp after all the terrible things he’d done was a breath of fresh air.  This wasn’t some anime swordfight where the hero nobly kills the bad guy with a single stroke.  No, Cell got destroyed repeatedly, and then he got the big anime finish.  He put the babyface over on his way out, which is exactly what a good villain is supposed to do.

I don’t know, I feel like I’m just scratching the surface of how cool this guy is.  I’ve barely talked about his first two forms, or how creepy and inhuman he is, or how his origin story resembles that of G.I. Joe’s Serpentor.  I didn’t even get around to his awesome theme music that Bruce Faulconer made for him, or how he could totally whip Broly in a fight.  I could go on about what a great character Cell is, but I think it’d be best to close out with a delightful song by the bio-weapon himself:
