he looks just really sleazy to me

Adventures in Babysitting

So here it is! The sequel to THIS thing which was supposed to be just a prompt answer. I had several people ask me for a sequel and it still baffles me that you guys basically *want* to read my stuff (instead of me throwing it out there, hoping). If you prefer AO3, the second part will be HERE soon.

Now on with the story (more under the cut cause it’s really long)

The phone rings just as Mulder is about to leave his apartment. He stops, looks at his watch: 8.43 a.m. He and Scully never decided on a time last night, but he’s been on the road with her plenty of times. If they don’t have anywhere to be, if there’s no plane waiting, an autopsy or other extraterrestrial tasks, Scully likes to take her time. Mulder figures arriving just after 9 a.m. at her place should neither be too late, nor too early.

The phone keeps ringing, a nagging sound that makes it impossible to leave. What if it’s important? Yet, he doesn’t pick it up. Because what if it’s Scully? Telling him she’s changed her mind and she doesn’t want him to come over. He stares at the book in his hand, “I want to be an astronaut”, a gift for Hannah. The thought of not seeing her, of Scully pushing him away, is unbearable and so he just stands there and waits. Finally, his answering machine springs to life. Mulder braces himself, just in case. If it really is Scully, and who else would call him on a Saturday morning?, then he is just going to pretend he never got the message. It’s sleazy and selfish, but he feels no shame.

“Hello Fox,” Mulder frowns upon hearing the voice on his machine and he is glad he didn’t pick up the phone for entirely different reasons than fear, “It’s Diana. There’s this highly interesting case I found and I thought maybe we could spend the weekend looking it over. Spend some time together. I guess you’re out on a run so just give me a call when you’re back.” Mulder listens to the beep, then he quickly walks over to the answering machine, pushes a button and is on his way.

“Message deleted.” Chimes just as he closes the door behind him.

It was 1.30am when you got to the 24 hour diner after Lin had texted you directions. You stopped just outside the door. Inside you could see the back of what might be Lin’s head and you hesitated. What were you doing here? Catching a cab in the early hours of Christmas eve morning to meet a stranger you’d sent messages to for 2 days? This wasn’t like you. You weren’t impulsive and brave. You were cautious and shy. You were the kind of person in bed by 10pm (when you weren’t plagued with insomnia), you were the kind of person who flossed daily, and flaked out on plans to stay home and write. And you were also the kind of person to be in a long term relationship with the love of your life only to be dumped at a moment’s notice for someone else. Ok so maybe this wasn’t your usual behavior, but maybe it should be.

The instant warmth of the diner brought a flush to your cheeks as you headed inside, and approached Lin, who was nervously scrolling through his phone.

“Hi!” you said, far too brightly, trying to appear confident, as though this was the kind of thing you did all the time. Lin instantly turned his head, a warm smile spreading across his face.

“Hey you came!”

He stood up to meet you, absentmindedly flattening down his hair, grinning.

You almost reached out to shake his hand before realizing how utterly formal and ridiculous that would be. You were suddenly very aware of your posture, your arms, the way you were standing, and you weirdly felt clunky and awkward and self conscious. Luckily Lin didn’t seem struck with the same sense of awkwardness as you, and he leaned in to hug you, kissing you quickly on the cheek.  His soft navy blue jumper smelled faintly of christmas cookies.

You sat down in the booth opposite him and removed your scarf and gloves, as you frantically wished your nerves away. He smiled, looking down at his cup, and biting his lip, then bringing his eyes back up to meet yours. The way he looked at you… You felt a shiver run down your spine. Could you just skip the getting to know you conversations and move straight to biting his lip for him?

“Hey so I’ve got something for you!” Lin said brightly, placing a brown paper bag in front of you, grinning.

You hesitantly peered inside and then laughed.

“You actually brought me empanadas?”

“Of course! I didn’t want to lure you out after midnight with the promise of empanadas and then not actually provide empanadas. I’m not a monster!” He took a sip of his coffee and peered at your over the cup.

You smiled.

“Well thank you, you are so sweet! I mean, this is sweet… ” you said, cringing at the words as they tumbled out of your mouth.

“Ok, I’m sorry” you said laughing. “I’ve gonna be straight up and just admit I am the worst at flirting. I don’t usually do this” you said while gesturing at him.

Lin laughed. “Ok well this” he said, mirroring your gesture, “is just coffee. It’s just coffee, in the early hours of a morning with a total stranger who hasn’t been able to stop thinking about you. But seriously, it’s just coffee, it doesn’t have to mean anything bad.”

As if by magic, the lone waitress appeared at your table, placing a cup of coffee in front of you, and re-filling Lin’s empty cup without a word. There was a silent understanding that anyone entering the diner at 1.30am on christmas eve must be in need of coffee. She left you both to it and you clutched the cup in front of you, grateful to have something to fidget with.

“Is this weird?” You asked.

Sending texts off into the ether and having a crush on someone from the safety of your own home was fine enough, but the reality of the situation had begun so settle.

“I mean, is it weird, meeting like this so quickly? You don’t know me, and I don’t know you.”

Lin sensed your unease and leaned forward, his eyes soft and reassuring.

“Hey I just really liked talking to you, there’s no pressure ok? I know my constant barrage of texts today might have felt a bit too much.”

“Are you kidding? I felt like I was annoying you with all my  messages!”

He leaned back and grinned

“Ok good! So we’re both around the same level of annoyingness. That’s good to know. But honestly, it doesn’t feel weird.” He said, shrugging. “I couldn’t sleep, you couldn’t sleep, you’ve inadvertently spoiled Gilmore Girls for me, what else were we gonna do?”

You laughed, watching him get animated and gesturing wildly about Gilmore Girls at 1.30am was positively endearing.

“Also you sounded sad, I was worried. I really just wanted to see you.” He said, his fingers circling the top of his coffee mug.

“Wait, so you mean this isn’t just a sleazy tinder hook up?”

Lin winced, “Sleazy? Well technically we aren’t on tinder anymore, and what’s so sleazy about it if we were?” And there he went, biting his lip again. You couldn’t tell if it was a nervous habit or if he subliminally knew that watching him bite his lip stirred deep flickering waves in your stomach.

You stared at him, studying his face. His whole face, not just his lips this time.

“Ok I gotta ask because this is really bugging me now, where do I know you from? Did you go to Palmer’s High?”

He smiled awkwardly and looked down at his coffee.

“Sorry, not me.”

“Is it the Union library, did you used to work weekends?”

He shook his head looking embarrassed and cleared his throat.

“I’m Lin-Manuel Miranda” He said, squirming in his seat, his eyes still staring at his coffee cup before looking up at you expectantly.

You mouthed the name to yourself, testing the words out on your tongue, until you stopped in your tracks. You stared at him, blinking incredulously.

“Fuck off!” you exclaimed without thinking, before covering your mouth with your hand.

”Sorry, sorry sorry! I didn’t mean that! It’s just… oh god I feel like an idiot!” You took a breath and looked at him again.

“Well… ok then…hello Lin-Manuel Miranda!”

“Hi!” Lin smiled sheepishly. “And you don’t have to say the full name each time by the way.”

You laughed, shaking your head as your evening elevated to new surreal heights.

“You know you really should have prepared me for this in one of your many messages today” you said.

Lin leaned back “You didn’t seem to recognize me from my name or any photos I sent and honestly that was just kind of nice so I guess, yeah I didn’t say anything. Anyway, shall we move on?”

You nodded, smiling.

And you did move on.

You talked about break ups, about writing, about families, about the first single you ever bought.

“Roxanne Shante? No way! ” Lin exclaimed in surprise, clutching his hands to his chest.

“What can I say, I had a ridiculously cooler older brother who used to take my to this second hand vinyl store and practically forced records into my hands.”

“Ok well, let’s hear it for cooler older siblings everywhere” Lin chuckled while raising his coffee mug in the air. You smiled and joined him, clinking your mug with hi.

“Wait, wait, wait!” Lin’s voice dropped an octave and he placed his hands on the table looking deadly serious.

“Can we please geek out about Roxanne’s beef with KRS-One?”

You shook your head and laughed.

“Oh no, you best not be dragging Roxanne?” You said, pursing your lips in mock rage.

“What?” No way!” Lin practically spluttered. “Roxanne’s Revenge is UNFUCKINGBELIEVABLE!”

You turned your head to see the waitress tutting, peering over the counter and rolling her eyes at the overexcitable pottymouth Lin. You looked back at Lin who giggled like a naughty kid, flashing you an embarrassed smile.

You talked about favorite places to write (his: while walking his dog, yours: while on the subway), you talked about the paralysis you feel when you experience mindblowing art, and you both talked about the frustrations of having obsessive personalities, of not knowing what it’s like to just like something a normal amount.

“So you’re telling me that there’s this painting, sorry, not just a painting, this life altering painting that means the world to you. In fact it means so much to you that someday you want to write a book about it. But you’ve never actually even seen it in person, never got to look at it up close??”

You nodded as Lin shook his head, staring at you in disbelief.

“Well for a start the painting is permanently housed in Barcelona,” you explained “ it’s never exhibited outside of Europe, and I’m not exactly made of money. But I’ll see it one day.” You said wistfully before catching yourself, feeling embarrassed.

“Sorry, I swear I don’t usually just ramble on about art for 20 minutes at a total stranger.”

“Are you kidding, you’ve just listened to me talk about the intricacies of Sondheim for way longer than is considered polite. I live for this stuff, this is the kind of thing that keeps me up at night. If you can’t be obsessed over things then what’s the point?”

“Well I guess you have kind of made a career out of it” you smiled.

“It’s not about that’” He saved waving his hand, “ It’s about the obsessions. The ideas and things you love that won’t leave you alone. Those are the ideas worth having.”

You smiled nervously, you’d never met anyone who got it. Even Kay had dismissed your love of art as something that was frivolous and pretentious. You barely knew this guy, and he got it.

“You need to see this painting.” Lin said, his face deadly serious. “Honestly, I feel like I need to see this painting now.”

You laughed

“Promise me you’ll see it.”

“Well not right now, but sure, that’s the plan.“ you said

This didn’t feel like the awkward conversations of first dates you’d remembered. Everything felt familiar, he was easy to talk to, although every now and then you’d catch yourself. You’d find yourself staring longingly at his lips mid-conversation, your stomach fizzing with pangs of excitement, reminding you that you ought to feel nervous. He made you feel nervous and comfortable all at the same time. Was there a word for that?

Until It was 4 am and you realized his hand was resting gently on yours, his thumb softly stroking yours.  His touch was so light as he continued to speak. You tried so damned hard to listen to him but his touch made it hard to concentrate. This wasn’t just coffee. Couldn’t you just be kissing him now?

“So I guess the bad news is that I’m going back to London next week. “ He said, sighing while looking down at his thumb, watching it tracing patterns against your skin.

His words shook you out of your haze and you quickly looked up at him.

“We start filming again in the new year and I’m kind of living there at the moment. Hence the jetlag.”

“Oh” You said. Not knowing what to say.

You had no right to feel disappointed. This was just coffee, you didn’t even know what this was, or if you even wanted anything beyond coffee at the moment, that all seemed to heavy and big to deal with. But you also hated the idea of a ticking clock looming large on the horizon.

“So are you saying this is a sleazy tinder hookup?” you laughed nervously.

“No,no,no, I just mean…I just mean I like you. I like talking to you. And I guess I just wanted to be upfront. But I also want to see you again. Unless you don’t want to.”

He looked up at you, biting his goddamn lip again and your words caught in your throat.

“I want to.” you said shakily and he smiled.

“Good” He said grinning.

“Although maybe next time it can be at a more sensible hour.” Your eyelids suddenly feeling very heavy.

Lin stretched out and let out a yawn and groaned.

“I’m supposed to be saying insanely clever and articulate things in an interview in a few hours” He said, looking at his watch and laughing. “I’m gonna pay for this later on. But it was worth it.” His eyes twinkled and the way he looked at you made you blush.

You gathered your scarf and gloves as Lin went to the counter to pay for the endless supply of coffee, dropping in an extra tip by way of an apology for how loud you’d both been. He held the door open for you, placing his hand against the small of your back to guide you out, and you shivered from the cold and his touch.

“Can I see you again? Soon?” He asked eagerly,as you stepped out onto the sidewalk, his eyes pleading.

“I’d really like that.” you breathed, suddenly forgetting how to speak.

The last 3 hours had passed in a whirlwind of surprisingly easy conversation, but now you felt the words stutter at the back of your throat as nerves took over, and shyness seeped through you. You wanted to break the silence, your brain whirred as you tried to think of something to say. Something clever, something funny, something to make him want you. Instead you just blurted: “It’s so cold!”

You shivered and he put his hands on your arms, rubbing them to warm you up.

“Let’s get you warm” he said in a low hushed tone.

He took the scarf you were holding in your hands and looped it around your neck, stepping forward so that his face was just inches away from yours and you could feel his breath as you shivered. He glanced up, his eyes locking with yours, and his mouth hung slightly open as he looked at you longingly. Before you could even think, before you could even speak, before you could even breathe he was pulling the ends of your scarf towards him, pulling your face close until his lips were on yours.

His slips were soft, slow, and longing. His top lip grazed against yours, sending shockwaves across your body. You trembled as he held onto your scarf, his kisses growing more urgent as he pushed against you, pressing your back against the outside wall of the diner. His nose squished softly against your cheek as his lips darted across yours. You trembled and cupped his face with your hands, kissing him hungrily, pushing your hands back in his hair, and his own hands fell down to your waist, gripping you tightly, pulling your body tight against his.

Your hands fell to his shoulders as you both broke away for air. His hands stayed firmly on your waist, and his mouth hung open as he gazed at you You felt drunk from the lack of sleep and from his kisses.

“You know I don’t have to be anywhere for a few hours if you wanted to come back and just…sleep.” He whispered, his lips hovering over yours. You groaned softly.

“As much as I would love to …sleep. I don’t think that’s a good idea right now. I mean I should probably get home and actually sleep in my own bed.”

Lin inhaled deeply and nodded wearily. He leaned forward, gently cupping your cheek. He kissed you quickly, leaving your lips tingling in anticipation, before softly kissing your nose then your forehead.  His hands still held your waist, and your skin felt electric, aware of every slight touch.

“You are so very sensible.” He smiled.

“Wait, what the actual fuck?” Melissa screamed in your ear.

“I’m away for 2 weeks and you went on a date with Lin-Manuel Miranda? Are you messing with me?”

You sighed. “For the last time, I’m not messing with you. This all really happened.”

Melissa’s jaw hung open, her eyes were wild as you filled her in on the surreal events of the last 2 weeks. You told her about the accidental catfishing, the many many messages, the first date at 1.30am on Christmas eve, the second date the day after Christmas. And the dates which then followed. Melissa had sat on your couch, open mouthed, struggling to keep up. The absurdity of the entire situation was not lost on you.

From that first kiss at the diner on Christmas eve morning you’d thought of nothing else but kissing him again. As soon as you’d headed back to your apartment to finally sleep, you’d instantly regretted not going back with Lin. You closed your eyes replaying the kiss a thousand times in your head, longing for his lips again, wanting to feel his skin, and daydreaming of his touch. You wondered what it would be like to wake up next to him but then felt foolish, shaking the image from your head, knowing that whatever was happening between you, was bound to end as soon as he headed back to London. You’d laid in bed cursing yourself as your phone vibrated. A sleepy selfie of Lin popped up on your screen with a message:

Lin: Wish you were here zzzzz

Then Christmas day hit and you were alone. You didn’t exactly regret your choice of not visiting your Trump supporting parents for christmas. Their homophobic tendencies meant they had never really approved of Kay in the 5 years you’d been together. They had made it clear in previous years that you weren’t welcome home for the holidays if Kay accompanied you. But now with Kay gone your mom had suddenly reached out to you inviting you back for the holidays as though nothing had ever happened..

So naturally you opted for your first christmas alone, eating froot loops while watching Elf, and spending the rest of the day writing. It was the same as any other day really, although the holidays were naturally designed to make the recently dumped feel lonely. And at least for the last few days you’d had Lin to distract you, but today as Lin was caught up in family duties, you found yourself looking back over old photographs of Kay, brooding over nostalgia. But even without Lin to distract you, you found yourself wallowing less. Sure, it hurt to look back, but you didn’t cry this time, you didn’t feel that heart-wrenching ache that had consumed you for the last few weeks. It was just a dull manageable ache, and you felt reassured that maybe this was a sign that you were moving on. You already felt lighter, less miserable, and you felt nervous anticipation as Lin messaged you that evening asking you on a date the very next day.

“Second date? Please please please tell me you went home with him this time!” Melissa begged, popping the candy she’d brought you as a gift into her mouth, her face rapt with attention.

“Um, not exactly” You said.

“WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOU?” Melissa yelled, throwing a piece of candy at you.

“I mean we never made it to his.” You said, throwing the piece of candy back at her.  “We never really made it out at all”

“OHHHH.” Melissa said, her mouth falling open.

You’d invited him into your apartment for just a minute before you were due to head out for your official second date. You had dinner reservations, and and a schedule to stick to, and you were already running late as you rummaged around your room for your missing earring.

“Found it! Sorry, that took forever. Ready to go?” You said as you finally emerged from the bedroom.

Lin jumped up from the couch where he’d been patiently waiting,.

He turned to face you, his eyes lingered on your lips, before raising his eyes to meet yours. His mouth hung open and the corners of his lips curled  into a smile.

“You are beautiful” he said in a low hushed voice.

The way he breathed as he spoke gave you goosebumps. The way he looked at you now made you feel naked. You swallowed nervously, and then in an instant  his mouth was on yours

His kisses this time were quick, deep, and hungry, not the soft slow sleepy kisses from Christmas eve. His lips pressed urgently against yours and you gasped as his hand reached around you, holding you in place at the small of your back, pulling you closer while he kissed you. His other hand cupped the back of your head, his fingers clutching at your hair as his lips rapidly pressed against yours. You gripped his shoulders and his body pressed tightly against you. He broke away from your lips,  planting small butterfly kisses across your cheek, down to your ear lobe, and across your neck.

“We’re late, we really should get going” you said in between ragged breaths.

You gasped as he found the spot on your neck which made you weak, and you reached out, tugging his hair, urgently pulling his lips back to yours. You gently bit his bottom lip, and a soft small groan escaped his lips. You pulled away.

“Bedroom…. Now.” You breathed.

Melissa’s mouth hung open in anticipation.

“Don’t you DARE leave me hanging as it’s getting to the good bit!” screeched Melissa

You shrugged.

“We just never made it to dinner that night.” You smiled coyly.  Melissa threw down the bag of candy in annoyance.

“Ok. Fine.. So what next. I mean, was this just a hook up thing or what?  I thought you said you were dating him?”

You nodded.

“It’s complicated.”

Melissa rolled her eyes.

The rest of Lin’s time in New York seemed to go so fast and you knew in a matter of days he’d be going back to London. Over the course of the next week  you saw each other as much as possible, although you never once discussed what would happen when he left. The next day he’d arranged to meet you in the park while walking his dog, Tobi in between work appointments and family plans. It was freezing cold, but you happily sat on a park bench, hands wrapped tight around a cup of hot chocolate as Lin talked animatedly about his disastrous dance rehearsals for Mary Poppins. You were both completely unaware that two hours had passed until Tobi had started pining for home.

The next day he’d invited you over to his apartment, which was empty and unused while based in London. You spotted a postcard on top of the piano in the corner.

“Hey this is my painting!” You exclaimed

“Wow, I didn’t know you could paint!” He smirked and you jabbed him gently with your elbow.

“I mean, this is the Miro painting I was babbling on about, why do you have this?”

“I wanted to see what you see.  I grabbed it from the MoMA gift shop yesterday after my meeting.”

You were stunned as he grabbed the postcard from you turning it over.

“But it’s so small.” he said “Look, it says on the back that the real thing is huge! You need to see it!” You looked at him overwhelmed, unable to speak, and he shot you a quizzical look.

“What? Did I do something wrong?”

You shook your head, biting your lip.

“Sorry, I’ll stop going on about how you need to see this painting.” He said, looking embarrassed.

“Kiss me” you said.

On New Year’s eve he had plans with his family and you had plans to see friends so you decided to arrange to see each other New Year’s Day instead. You met back at the same diner, cradling cups of coffee just like before. Lin slumped forward in his chair, his eyes were bleary and his dark stubble indicated he was feeling hungover.

“So I take it you had a good night then?” you smiled.

“I think so.” He said rubbing his eyes and smiling softly. “ I remember teaching salsa to my nephews, then the grownups brought out the tequila. Then I’m a liiiittle hazy on the rest of the night.” He looked up at you with tired eyes.

”I missed you though.”

You smiled and then winced. He was leaving for London in 2 days and you still hadn’t addressed what might happen next, if anything.

“So I guess, I’m not gonna see you now.” You said, using your best nonchalant voice while fidgeting with the mug in front of you.

Lin pushed back his hair nervously.

“Well I’ve got press and family stuff all day tomorrow, then the day after I fly back to London in the morning”

You nodded slowly, not knowing what to say.

Lin opened his mouth to speak, you could see him carefully considering his words.

“I don’t want this to end” he said in a hushed tone.

You glanced up, raising your eyebrows in confusion.

“Am I wrong? I feel a little crazy saying this, but this week has been… I just don’t want this to end.” he said again, biting his lip nervously.

You nodded silently.

“I like you”. He said, placing his hand over yours.

You swallowed, trying to make sense of this.

“This feels… a little fast.” you admitted. “I like you too. It’s just confusing and I don’t really know what I’m supposed to do. I mean you live in London.”

Lin began to stroke your hand reassuringly.

“I live there temporarily. I’m back here nearly every month, and I’ll be back here permanently in a little while.”

You let out an exasperated sigh.

“It’s not just that. You live in London, and I’m just coming out of a 5 year relationship, I don’t know if I’m exactly making good choices right now and I don’t want to mess things up.”

“So… what do we do?” Lin asked, his eyes pleading.

You shook your head, not knowing what to say, and pulled away from his hand.

“I don’t know.”

“Oh hun I’m so sorry” Melissa said, picking up the bag of candy and offering it to you in pity. “It sucks it had to end like that. I’ve got to say I think you made the right decision though. Long-distance relationships never work out. Trust me on that.”

You sighed and took the candy from her, popping it in your mouth nodding.

“I didn’t say we ended it.” you said quietly.

Melissa’s raised her eyebrows in confusion.

“What? But he’s back in London now! Plus you just got dumped!  How is this even a thing?”

You shrugged.

“Look, I know I don’t have a clue what I’m doing. This feels reckless and a bit naive and after Kay all I wanted to do was crawl back into bed and never come out. But look at me now, I feel like living again, and I feel like being impulsive. I can’t explain it!”

“Ok, ok that’s great, that’s fine and all, and believe me I want you to be happy,” she said, placing her hand on your shoulder. “But I mean, logistically how are you going to do this? You know, beyond skype and pining for someone a million miles away?”

“Well for a start, he kind of-sort of-maybe invited me to London.”

Melissa shook her head laughing,

“Next week.”

Melissa stopped laughing.

“Oh sure, because an author who lives off froot loops and ramen and who can barely afford rent since their ex-girlfriend moved out can totally afford a last minute trip to London!?”

“Lin booked a ticket for me.” You said quietly.

“What?” Melissa blinked in disbelief.

“I know, I know! Look, I didn’t ask him for it, he offered, and I refused and he persisted. He’s kind of annoying like that.”

“This is unreal! You couldn’t even accept money from me when I tried to pay for your metrocard last month.” Melissa laughed, holding her head in her hands.

“I know this is nuts. And believe me I’m going to pay him back. I just feel….happy. Well happier than I have been. I’ve been drowning for the last month, and now there’s this thing which is making me feel more like myself again, this crazy ridiculous thing. I’d regret it so much if I didn’t at least give this a go and see what happens.”

Melissa shot you a look and then rolled her eyes.

“Ok ok, I don’t mean to be so negative. I’m just cautious. I don’t want to see you hurt again.”

“Me neither. “ You said earnestly.

“You sure you know what you’re doing?”Melissa asked you.

“Absolutely! And it’s terrifying.”

Melissa chuckled and squeezed your shoulder.

“Also, can I borrow your suitcase?”

You knew this was surreal. You knew this was out of character for you, but you felt like you’d already crossed some kind of line just by turning up to a diner at 1.30am to meet a perfect stranger 2 weeks ago. This was just the next natural step in your new surreal life. As you stared out of the window of the plane waiting for takeoff you felt a nervous pang of anxiety, your fear of flying mixing with the fear of the unknown. You checked your phone out of habit.

Lin: I get to see you in a few hours, how amazing is that!

Lin: I hope you are a fan of terrible British accents btw because that’s how I speak now

Lin: Hurry up plane, why aren’t you here yet? I’m sad that apparition and port keys don’t actually exist.

You chuckled to yourself and the waves of anxiety turned into pangs of excitement knowing you’d get to see Lin in just a few hours. You began typing out a reply as your phone buzzed again with another message. This time not from Lin.

Kay: Can you call me? We need to talk. I think I made a mistake and I need to see you.

You stared at the words on your phone as though in slow motion. You re-read the message over and over until your eyes started to blur and you began to breathe sharp ragged breaths.

“Miss? Miss? We’re asking everyone to turn off their mobile devices for take off.”

The flight attendant’s voice echoed in your ears and you fumbled with your phone, your fingers shook as you switched it off. With one message you felt yourself tumbling down that black hole again. An announcement over the tannoy let you know that the plane was ready to depart, and you fastened your seatbelt ready for take off

Two Moons (pt. 4)

Genre: Fluff/Angst

Pairing: Chanyeol/Reader/Sehun

Summary: What are Sehun’s true feelings? What does it change?

(Part I) || (Part 2) || (Part 3)

Sehun’s POV

“Hey,” I whisper softly and stroke her hair. I missed it so much. I keep trying to get a good look at her, but she dodges my gaze. She’s been like this since we got home and now we’re just sitting on the bed, as an agonizing silence commands the room.

“Y/N? Please, look at me…”

“Can you at least tell me what’s wrong?” I plead. She stares at the bed sheets for a good minute before lifting her head.

“You know… I’ve been thinking about it. What are we still doing this for?” Her words drive a stake right through my heart. A combination of confusion, fear, and uneasiness take over my mind. What the hell is going on?

“Huh? Why are you saying this all of a sudden?” I try to touch her face but she slaps my hand away.

“Sehun.” She looks at me with a pained expression. “You and I both know why. Please don’t make this any harder for me…"

I’ve never seen her like this. I freeze up and my mind goes blank. How did it end up like this? Everything… everything in these past years, I’ve done for her. This wasn’t supposed to happen. She’s supposed to tell me how proud she is of me with her bright smile, and the time I endured without her was all going to be worth it. I only wanted her to be happy… to see her cheerful expression… for her to only look at me… where did things go wrong?

It’s well into the evening, and I’m sitting by her on the couch, watching TV. I asked if she wanted to go out, but she said she’d rather spend her time at the dorm. Honestly at first, I just wanted to tease her because she was Kyungsoo’s friend. But just after one date, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. There was something about her strong personality, strange sense of humor, and unspoken kindness that had me hooked. But above all, it was her charming smile that killed me. Let’s just say I was pretty happy when she started coming to the dorm regularly.

“Oh my god, he’s so cool!!” she starts squealing and flails her hands around. She stares at the TV in awe. It’s a news coverage about some Chinese idol. She won’t stop fangirling. Crazy. I mean. I’m right here…

“Yah, relax. He can’t be that great,” I sneer. She instantly glares at me.

“How can you say that?? He’s my favorite!!” she starts swooning over him and it ticks me off. “He’s handsome, smart, talented, and kind. On top of being a singer, he’s a model, actor, and international icon! He’s really the best.” She squeals again.

Unbelievable. “I’m pretty great, too,” I suggest.

She just gives me a snide look and laughs. “Yeah, sure. In your own way.” She scoots over and pats me on the head. She leans on my shoulder and watches that sleazy guy on the screen longingly. My annoyance grows and somewhere inside me, I only wanted her to look at me like that. Just wait.

“I’ll be your favorite,” I mumble.

Your POV

You close Sehun’s door behind you, and the tears you held back escape all at once. You hold your hand over your mouth to keep from crying out. You wipe the tears from your face, but new ones replace it right after. The sleeve of Chanyeol’s hoodie is soaked.

Chanyeol. You want to run to him so badly and cry. Cry into his comforting embrace that has always been there for you. But you can’t now. You couldn’t bring yourself to stand in front of his closed doors.

“Y/N?” You recognize Kyungsoo’s soft voice and lift your head, your vision blurred and face swollen. One look and he knew what was wrong. He lets out a frustrated sigh and help you up. “Come on, let’s go.”

“Soo-yah… y-you came back, too?” you sniffle.

“Yeah.” He guides you to his room and sit you down on the bed. He brings over a box of tissues and rubs your back slowly. He didn’t ask any questions. Kyungsoo knew you too well. But it pains him to see his best friend riddle herself in tears.

“Wait here,” he assures me with a pat on the head. He leaves the room. You hated being alone more than anything.

You flop over on the bed and roll on your back. You stare at the ceiling and all your memories with Sehun seem to project themselves on the white background. Your first date at an unknown cafe. The first kiss the two of you had while drunk. The first time you slept in his arms. The time he came back to surprise you on your birthday when he was on tour. All the moments you shared with him, replay in your mind.

He’s the first person you loved, the first person who told you that you mean more than the world to him, and the last person you ever wanted to be with. You don’t want it to end. Of course you don’t. He’s your whole world too. But you didn’t want to go down that road. You didn’t want it to hurt more. For the both of you. You had to make the decision.

The tears come out again, and flow down to your ears. Laying on the bed isn’t such a good idea. You quickly wipe them before they travel down the side of your face. Your heart is shattering in a million pieces. You lay there with your arm swung over your face. The sniffling and hiccups don’t stop.

The door clicks open.

“Y/N? Kyungsoo told me you were here.” No. You didn’t want to deal with this right now. “I’m sorry…”

Part 5

anonymous asked:

Looking at these Split Hook posts made me realize. Killian really has softened in his relationship with Emma, hasn't he? I mean season 2-3A, he was dropping innuendo after innuendo. 3B, he's still dropping it, but it's less frequent. And he's mostly stopped by S4-S6.

We always talk about Emma’s “walls” in this show, but Killian has just as many.

I’ve always seen the sleazy flirting and innuendo as a sort of defense mechanism. I have loved Killian to bits since Tallahassee, but even I can recognize that he often gave off creep vibes when he was still a villain. “When I jab you with my sword, you’ll feel it.” I mean, for Emma, who was lying beneath him in the middle of a battle, I can’t see that coming off as anything but gross. Emma ain’t got time for some dude’s unnecessary double entendres when he’s trying to kill her (or she thinks he’s trying to kill her, at the very least).

But if you think about the slow way in which we came to learn about Killian Jones the person versus Captain Hook the villain, you’ll see that he’s always been layered. Pain and rage and defeat and hopelessness… he’s felt them all, sometimes overwhelmingly so. But Hook never wanted to appear weak. Put on this macho, innuendo-spewing, swagger-full persona and boom, Killian’s tucked safely inside where he can’t be hurt anymore.

Gradually, we got to see him lower those walls for Emma. We got to see the man behind the pirate. God do I miss S3 when Killian was constantly just yearning for Emma, giving her all those intense looks. Still an innuendo now and then, but clearly he was also being open and honest with her.

From late S3 onward, he’s been more himself. And the rare innuendos are used more as an ice-breaker, to lightly tease, i.e., on their date when he was all, “Why love? Afraid you’ll find me even more irresistible after a few libations?” and Emma was just blushy and giggly about it rather than irritated like she would be in S2. The way he uses his flirting now is, first of all, directed only at Emma instead of every woman on the show, and secondly, used in a light-hearted manner instead of to intentionally put someone off.

Don't flirt with my girl

Paining: Pietro x reader

Anon request: Maybe something where a guy flirts with you at a club and Pietro gets extremely jealous and overreacts?

“What do you think?” I asked Wanda as I turned to face her. Her eyes widened at my choice of clothing.

“You’re boobs wow”

“I know” I smirked “that’s the point, I gotta show off my best assets”

“My brother won’t be able to keep his eyes off you”

“What?” I turned to look at her

“Oh crap you weren’t supposed to know but my brother has a big crush on you”

“Well then, tonight should be interesting then. I’m ready, are you ready to head out?” Wanda nodded as we exited my room.

“It’s about time you guy were taking a rea-” Pietro froze when he took in my appearance.

“Sorry I wanted to look good. Do you think I look good Pietro?”

“Yes wow” Pietro’s eyes were on my breast.

“Good, I hope you’ll save a dance for me” I played with his hair before entering the elevator.

*time skip*

We’ve been at the club for over an hour and Pietro hasn’t left my side the entire time. I was shamelessly flirting with him and he happily flirted back. I could tell he was trying not to stare at my breast, so I kept pushing them forward.

“Have I told you how sexy you look in this dress” Pietro spoke into my ear as he placed his arm around my lower back.

“No you haven’t but thanks, you don’t look so bad yourself maximoff” I pressed myself against him, now both of his hands landed on my ass as I wrapped mind around his neck. Our lips were centimeters apart so I took the initiative and bit his lower lip before kissing him. Pietro was quick to respond squeezing my ass as I deepened the kiss. There was lots and lots of tongue. The other guys spotted us and stated to wolf whistle at us causing us to pull away and gave them the finger.

“I’ll right back I’m going to go get a drink ok”

“Ok” Pietro gave me one last kiss before I made my way to the bar and ordered myself another gin and tonic. Everything was going great until a sleazy guy tried to start a conversation.

“What’s a pretty girl like you standing all alone at a bar”

“I’m not alone, I’m just waiting for my drink” I rolled my eyes

“Well I don’t see anyone else with you right now, why don’t you come home with me. I can show you a good time?”

“No thanks”

“Come on I’m being nice here” I could sense the guy was getting angry because I was denying him.

“Yo man leave the woman alone, she clearly isn’t interested” another guy at the bar spoke up getting his attention.

“Shut up I wasn’t talking to you, so you me in the bathroom then?” He was about to grab my arm but suddenly there was someone I front of me.

*Pietro pov*

Y/n was taking long just to get one drink. I look around and spotted her waiting at the bar. Damn she looks sexy tonight the things we’re going to do tonight. Lost in my own thoughts I didn’t notice Wanda was standing next to me.

“Pietro I’m sorry to disrupt your perverted thoughts about y/n but you need to go where she is right now” I looked up as saw some guy a little too close to her. “He’s harassing her and-” I didn’t bother listening to the rest I ran to where y/n immediately.

*Y/n pov*

“Do not touch my girl you poor excuse of a man” Pietro growled and the guy who was hassling face went pale.

“I . . I was just talking” he stuttered, obviously knowing who Pietro was.

“Really?” He turned to the other people who were at the bar. “Was he just talking or was he harassing her?”

“He was fucking harassing her, I told him to stop but he didn’t listen” the guy that defended me spoke up.

“Thank you for that man, and you” Pietro was now looking at the sleazy guy. “You are going to leave this bar or I will hurt you, GOT IT ! !”

“Yyyyyes” he stammered as he quickly left the club.

“Are you alright?” He was now cupping my face.

“Yeah and thank you” I kissed him before the bartender placed my drink in front of me.

“On the house, I’m sorry about that guy. He’s been banned multiple time for doing what he was doing to you. Yet someone how manages to sneak in”

“Thank you” I replied as I took my drink.

“Why don’t we get out of here, I don’t want any other guys hitting on you” Pietro whispered in my ear as he took a gulp of my drink.

“Ok” I chugged the last part and Pietro guided us out of the club. I texted Wanda we were leaving so she wouldn’t worry.

Once we made it into the tower Pietro immediately started kissing me. His hands roamed my entire body as we stumbled into the elevator. I broke the kiss to press my floor number as Pietro started leaving opened mouthed kisses down my neck. “Jump” he spoke into my neck before biting it. I did as he told, wrapping my legs around his waist. My back hitting the wall as he slipped the straps of my dress off my shoulders. My breasts were now exposed and Pietro took my left one in his mouth. The sound of the elevator door opening caught our attention and with is super speed Pietro rushed us to my room. Tearing each others clothes off we left bit marks all over each others neck. Just as Pietro was about to lay me down on the bed I stopped him.

“Wait ! I want to show you how grateful for defending me tonight at the club.” I dropped to my knees and got a hold of his now erect cock. Giving him a few kitten lick I took him in my mouth, or what I could fit. I looked up at his with nothing but fire in my eyes as I pumped what I couldn’t fit in my mouth.

“Ahh yes that’s it, ohh keep showing me how grateful you are my beautiful y/n. Fuck you look so sexy sucking my cock” Pietro weaved his hand in my hair as I sucked faster, moaning around him.

“I love your big cock Pietro, and it’s all mine”

“Yes it’s yours, all yours. Only you get to enjoy this cock” I took his cock between my breasts and started moving them around it. “Oh fuck” his breath hitched as he started to fuck my tits.

“I want you to cum all over my tits”

“Oh yeah fuck” Pietro started thrusting faster until he closed his eyes and came all over my breast “YESSSSS” I let go of my breast so he cock was also free. I ran my finger over Pietro’s cum and sucked on it.

“So good” I stood up and got on the bed. I got on all fours and wiggled my ass. “Come on Pietro, I need you to fuck me good” soon enough I felt him tease both my pussy and my asshole.

“Which one do you want me to fuck?”

“You choose, I just want you inside me”

“Asshole it is.” He eased himself inside me.

“Oh Pietro” moaned as he filled me up.

“Soooo fucking tight” Pietro grunted as he pulled out and pushed back in. “Oh so fucking tight”

“Pietro please fuck me harder” I begged, loving the feeling he’s causing

“As you wish” he started to pick up his pace as as whimpers filled the room.

“Mmmm yes baby fuck my ass harder, you fuck my ass so good”

“Fuck I can’t take it” he pulled out and made it so he was laying down and I was on top of him. “I need to see your tits bounce as we’re fucking.” Excitedly I grabbed his cock and stuck it back into my ass. With the support of his knees I began to bounce on Pietro’s cock. “Oh fuck yes, this is even better” I bounced faster at his comment. My tits bounced wildly.

“PIETRO YESSS FUCK FUCK FUCK AHHHHH” I shouted as I felt his fingers vibrating on my clit.

“Cum for me my y/n” Pietro demanded as his fingers vibrated faster. His balls now slamming against my ass.

FUCK AHHHH ! ! ! !“ I screamed as I reached my high and Pietro shortly followed

"You looked so fucking hot cumming y/n” Pietro praised as I leaned forward to kiss him. His hand reached around and pulled his cock out of my ass. Our kiss turned into a half hour make out session. “So just to be sure we are together now right?” Pietro asked finally breaking our make out session.

“Yes Pietro, we’re together.” We continued to kiss until we decided to finally go to sleep.

*the next day*

I wandered into the dinning room only wearing Pietro’s big shirts and underwear.

“Well well well, Look who it is. It’s y/n. Say where’s that boyfriend of yours” Tony asked getting everyone’s attention.

“Right here, what do you want stark?” Pietro draped his arm around my shoulder

“Nothing I just wanted to let you know that you guys are not allowed to have sex in the elevator” everyone’s eyes widened at Tony’s words. “And don’t try and deny it, it’s on camera. By the way nice tits y/n, I hope I get to see them in color and not black and whi-”

“Don’t talk about y/n breast stark” Pietro quickly run to where Tony was and grabbed the collar of his shirt. “Do you understand” Tony seamed unfazed

“Ok speedy whatever you say” replied rolling his eyes as Pietro let him go. “But seriously y/n, nice rack” Tony added before running away

“You’re dead stark ! ! !” Pietro yelled as he chased after him and shortly heard tony yelling for help.

i know this is self indulgent but hear me out ok

ima au where instead of going to 2012 chicago, they end up in like 1920-ish chicago and theres like gangs and stuff let me do this

  • the guy that brought them there(does he have a name? idk) was part of some gang under some crime boss
  • okay so the gang would smuggle moonshine and stuff to all these speakeasies
  • and the guys get caught up in this gang
  • hamilton fits right in like what do you expect
  • he’s good at making deals and sees stuff well from the crime boss’ point of view so like almost immediately he gets to be important
  • the six of them get their own speakeasy to manage
  • franklin disapproves of the entire thing but he can’t really stop it or change it, so he has fun and sort of gets into it
  • he encourages all the others eventually
  • since adams is a coffee shop fella in the real one, maybe he can tend the speakeasy bar or something
  • he’s totally the voice of reason like everyone comes to him to talk and he’s like wiping glasses and giving good advice
  • jefferson is probably having a great time tbh
  • since its the 20s he was exposed to a different type of music but who cares? he’s still a rockin jazz/swing fella and that’s even better
  • all the ladies love him
  • hamilton still uses madison to gamble
  • okay but it’s fallen mostly on franklin to take care of madison bc everyone trusts franklin w/ that responsibility
  • madison maybe as a side plot gets noticed by the crime boss and it used to predict police positions and stuff so they don’t get caught
  • poor buddy
  • but yeah mainly he’s chill and he’ll sit at a table and listen to whatever music is there, sometimes it’s jefferson
  • washington is the getaway driver no one can tell me anything else
  • he’s the driver bc franklin said one night ‘were the authorities to pull us down, you would look the best behind the wheel’
  • also bc he was the only one willing to learn how to drive
  • (adams tried too but it was a disaster)
  • madison is like franklin and adams’ ward, it’s on them to look out for him
  • ~~fradams~~
  • ~~but in cool 20s clothes and a dire prohibition setting~~
  • hamilton is like so sleazy and untrustworthy i can’t stress this enough
  • he’s the connection to the crime boss bc he’s so criminal and he gets orders and tells everyone else what to do
  • no one likes it
  • i’ll think of more
  • i just want ima aus ok

if you have anything to add please do bc this could get really cool

Scenario about Suga being a sub teacher for your class and your teasing each other and it ends in sex

Coming into a classroom and hearing all of the girls gasp is not something you were used to, that’s why you suddenly became interested this one particular day. You’ve never been the type to pay much attention to school and everyone around has already had a chance to experience it themselves, whether they were teachers or students. Affairs barely caught your attention and gossips just weren’t your style, not even mentioning the actual classes.

This one day you were heading to your music class; just as bored as always and caught a glimpse of a strange circle of girls letting out weird noises.
‘What’s going on?’ You tapped a girl’s shoulder, making her turn to you.

‘There’s a sub teacher for our music class and he looks like a nice bae.’

part onepart twopart three, part four

A figure walked toward me, his outline a shape I recognized but couldn’t place. I took a deep breath, standing from the cool metal chair I had been sitting in. Suddenly I looked around the room, realizing I didn’t know where I was. Concrete bricks lined the walls, leaving no room for a single window to the outside world. It was much darker than it should have been. Only a single light bulb hung from the ceiling, swinging manically in the windless space.

I watched the figure’s hand as something seemed to distort it’s shape. A long, barrel-like object began to extend from the fingers until it was firmly grasped in the hand. It wasn’t until I saw the length of the object and the crisp reflection of the light upon it’s material, that I realized it was a baseball bat. A metal baseball bat. I felt my chest clench tight; my stomach dropped to the floor. Everything clicked all at once. The main stepped out from under the shadows, his face leaving no surprise in my heart. Father.

Yet, something was still off. While the figure bore my father’s resemblance, a menacing red filled his eyes, spidery veins extending from the sockets. This was no man. It was a monster; combined with my father, at that. It was my goddamn worst nightmare.

Falling in Love at a Coffee Shop

A/N: Look, a thing. I do this eeevery time, but! I’m sorry for the major gaps between posts. Thank you for your patience, lovely readers, and I hope you enjoy this little fic! <3

Based on this post, made a short while ago. Title based on the wonderful song by Landon Pigg, written listening to this lovely cover. :’)

It was a quaint, homey shop–one that was commonly populated by the modern hipster or college student trying to frantically cram for finals. Customers were mostly regulars; new faces were rare, but only because they either stopped appearing, or became familiar. It was no Starbucks joint, however, or Dutch Bros or Peet’s Coffee or any similar chain.

No, it wasn’t. In fact, it was just A Whole Latte Love.

Yeah. Astrid had to learn to cope with the terrible puns over time. Even now, though, the cheesy names for the variety of drinks they served like Espresso Patronum and the Catpuccino made her want to sigh deeply whenever somebody ordered them.

this little puppy dog is hitting me hard man. I find myself searching the liam dunbar tag and the liam dunbar imagines tag for HOURS AT A TIME.

I think the problem is that he’s so incredibly adorable and vulnerable even with the whole IED thing. You can tell that he tries really hard and stuff. But anyways, I am so freaking glad they put liam on the goddamn show.

Another thing: those. Facial. Expressions. I swear, one of these next episodes I’m going to pass out because of the little fricking lip thing that he does whenever he gets angry. And can we talk about how he leans on Scott? How FRICKING adorable is that?

Okay, and he’s totally my age. Dyl Spray in real life is freaking 15 years old. I am 15 years old. And have you seen the dudes at my school? Probably not. But not all those hormonal, sleazy fifteen year olds look like friggin DYLAN SPRAYBERRY. I think the world would be a better place if they were.

Just sayin, I might have a mental breakdown because of liam dunbar/ dyl spray. He must’ve hit puberty at, what, seven? Honest to god. I need to go calm down.

Anyways, he really grew on me. In the first episode I actually thought he was going to die or something but thIS IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN HIM DYING BECAUSE HOLY POOP THAT LITTLE SHIT HAS GROWN ON ME.

and then again, I watch him on the screen and I think to myself “I can just go and audition for a part on teen wolf and see what happens, right? Right?!” And then i disappoint myself because hello that would never happen and I was in my school play once and I was horrible.

I just love him so much. It is just unbearable.

Preference #1 : Someone Hits on You

Requested: No, but y’all really should start requesting stuff~ lolol

Ashton: You and Ashton were at a party which was being thrown by a really good friend of his. Everyone was dressed a bit more casual for the occasion, thankfully, since you and Ashton weren’t ones for formal attire.

You were wearing Ashton’s “Lonestar" t-shirt with tights and black combat boots; while Ashton wore black skinny jeans with a white singlet and white sneakers. His friend greeted you both at the door, encouraging you both to eat, drink and mingle; which you both eagerly did.

The party was in full swing by now, and you and Ashton had a couple drinks; he offered to get you another which you politely said yes to. You watched him disappear into the kitchen as you leaned on the wall observing other guests, occasionally talking to a familiar face. Ashton was taking a while so you decided to go see what was keeping him, as you turned you ran into a fairly tall guy not much older than you, his drink nearly spilling.

“I’m so sorry, I really didn’t know you were there,” you apologized.

“It’s fine, love,” he stepped forward slightly, a smirk evident on his features. “What’s your name?”

“Um, Y/N,” you instinctly stepped back.

“Well, Y/N, what’s a pretty girl like you standing here alone?” The guy questioned, “Surely you’re not here by yourself. How about we get out of here, and I keep you company?”

“Actually,” you started but Ashton had already stepped between you and the guy, his tall frame blockingg you from the man.

“She’s here with me, her boyfriend.” Ashton seethed. “Now how about you just piss off, and leave her alone. She’s not interested.”

The guy held his hands in surrender before stalking off, slightly shaken. Ashton turned and looked down at you, a grin on your face as you snaked your arms around his waist, “You’re so intimidating and heroic, Ash, it’s quite a turn on.”

Ashton smirked, “Is it now? Well, how ‘bout we get out of here and you can thank me properly?”

You laughed and allowed him to lead you out the flat, a long night of showing your graditude ahead of you.

Calum: Friday nights were yours and Calum’s dining out nights, and you both were at Hooters glancing over the menu. Your waitress had given you both a moment to decide as she went to tend to another table.

“What’re you getting babe?” Calum asked.

“Not sure, maybe the boneless wings in the three mile island flavor,” you said and looked up at him. “What about you?”

“The Double ’D’ Burger,” he flashed a cheeky grin, causing you to laugh and hit him with the menu. “You’re such an idiot.”

Your waitress came back and smiled eagerly at you, “Ready to order, sweetheart?

Calum arched a brow at you and held back a laugh as he glanced from you to the waitress..

“Um. Yeah, I’ll be getting the boneless wings-three mile island-with a Coke, and and he’ll be getting the Double ’D’ burger.” You pointed at Calum.

“Also, with a Coke,” Calum chimed, but the woman didn’t acknowledge him, she was focused on you.

“Ooh. Three mile island? So, you like your food really hot?” She smirked. “Well, I’ll be back with your drinks; and before I forget, my name is Brooke.”

After she took your menus, and flashed a smile at you, she walked off.

“Someone seems to fancy you,” Calum laughed.

“Shut up,” you growl and try to kick him under the table. “It’s not funny.”

“Yes it is,” he continued laughing. “She really likes you, I mean, she’s still looking at you.”

You turned and saw the waitress staring at you as she made your drinks, a smile evident on her flawless features. You smiled back and turned to glare at Calum, “Don’t be stupid, I’m sure she’s just being polite.”

Brooke finally came with your drinks and a few napkins, placing them on the table before grinning at you and placing a hand on your shoulder, “If you need anything, just let me know.” Then she walked off to get your food.

“Oh, fuck.” Calum laughed more, covering his face when she came back with your food.

“Anything else I can get you?” Brooke turned to you.

“Nope, we’re good thanks,” you rushed, urging her away with your mind.

She nodded and walked off. The entire night Calum kept teasing you until you threatened to leave him, but he continued laughing and messing with you.

Luke: You and Luke were out shopping for Michael’s birthday party, you guys had already gotten him that new videogame he was freaking out over–it was supposed to come out some time before his birthday, but you had pre-ordered it and were expecting to get it soon. So, for now, you guys were shopping for clothes.

“Hey Lucas, isn’t that the place you got that All Time Low jumper I love so much?” You questioned, staring at the enormous department store with various band merch and novelty toys.

“You mean the one you stole? Yeah, that’s it,” he grabbed your hand as you both walked in, “Let’s check it out.”

You smiled at the varieties of band merch, from Asking Alexandria to Bring Me The Horizon to Fall Out Boy. There was merch for almost every band you could possibly think of, you glance at Luke who was admiring bannd t-shirts. “I’m going to look at the jumpers, be back.”

He nodded and you walked around the racks, fumbling through the different colored sweaters; a white and black Blink 182 pullover caught your eye. As you reached for the fabric, another hand met yours for the same jumper; you glanced at the boy-preparing to tell him to piss off because you saw it first.

“I’m sorry, were you planning to get that?” He asked, pointing to the jumper.

“I am going to get it,” you held the soft fabric in your hands, staring the boy down. “Why?”

“Because I wanted to get it, but I’m told that’s the last one in stock until the end of the week.” He informed.

“Well, sorry, but I saw it first and well, y’know what they say, finders keepers.” You said childishly, refusing to let him have what he wanted.

“I’m not going to doubt that you’ll look absolutely beautiful in that jumper, but I really need it.” He eyed you in a strange way, “Although, if you’d just give me your number and maybe go to lunch with me, I’ll let it slide.”

Luke was in earshot, so he had heard the boy; a look of anger crossed his handsome face, but before he could walk over and say anything you were already snapping.

“Listen up, you arrogant little shit, I found the jumper first, so I’m going to buy it. And you can just kindly fuck off with that sleazy bullshit running through your mind. I have a boyfriend, and he’ll gladly kick your ads if you don’t understand the words coming out of my mouth.“ You glared at the stunned boy.

“You don’t have to be so rude,” he commented before walking off.

Luke was trying to suppress his laugh by biting his lip, but the aggravation seeping from your pores only triggered the blond into laughter. You stared at the laughing teen, your anger quickly dissipating before you joined him.

“I can’t believe you called him a little shit,” Luke was still chuckling as he wrapped a strong arm around your shoulders and led you to the front counter to pay for your things.

“He tried to con me out of a jumper and my number,” you scoff. “I’m almost positive he saw me walk in here with you, I think he was just trying to see how far he’d get before you stepped in.”

“I was about to, but it seemed like you had that covered,” he grinned. “But next time, we’re both going to look at the jumpers together; can’t risk some other bloke trying to take my girlfriend.”

You smiled up at your boyfriend, hugging his waist as he kissed your head.

Michael: The boys were in the studio working on their upcoming album, you’d decided to tag along since you had nothing better to do. You were sitting on the plush couch watching your boyfriend and his mates laughing and joking around as they tried to find certain chords for different songs.

A guy not much older than you sat down in the spot next to you, a smile plastered on his face.

“Hi,” he said.

“Hi,” you say, not wanting to be rude.

“You like this band?” He asked, glancing at Michael, Calum, Luke and Ashton.

“I do,” you respond.

“That’s cool,” he nods, “You’re really cute, a bit quiet, but cute. Wanna go get something to eat?”

You stared at the guy, eyes slightly wide as a light scoff and laugh escape your mouth. This guy got straight to the point.

“I have a boyfriend,” you point to Michael who was making his way towards you both, “Michael, will you kindly explain to this guy that I am happily taken.”

“Seriously, mate? Why’re you bothering my girlfriend?” Michael narrowed his green eyes at the stranger. “I told you she was mine.”

“Didn’t know she was the girl you said was yours,” he confessed. “Sorry.”

Michael continued glaring at him until he left, before turning to you. “If he bothers you again, just let me know.”

You smile and follow him back to the other guys, refusing to sit off on the side in case someone else came around.

A/N: My first preference on here, I hope y'all liked it. Btw I received my first request a few days ago, so I’ve started on that. Also, keep an eye out for my Michael Clifford AU, I’ll be posting it sometime this weekend. I think y'all may like it lol. Anyway, hope you lovely beauts have a great day.

You Are Lovely Tonight

“Prompt: Date night in Paris from @katerin and Wedding Anniversary from @askikamle

March 2019

The familiar twinkling glow of the city felt like home to her. Love was in the air and she was in the exact same spot she was in three years ago… and everything was the same and different at the same time.

For one… she thought with a grin, her wedding ring did not catch the candlelight when she raised her glass of champagne to him three years ago.

Smiling softly at the warm rose band, she lifted her eyes to her husband, who was looking out of the window and smiling at the view.

How is it possible that in three years time he grew more beautiful?

He turned over to his wife, who was grinning down at their wedding ring, and he rubbed his own with his thumb, a habit he developed in the past three years. He never once allowed anything to make him take off the ring, even when he’s playing a role where he wasn’t a married man, he kept the ring in a chain around his neck.

His ring… made his wife feel closer to him, especially when he misses her the most.

And looking away from his wife, to admire the soft city lights that welcomed him home, he had to admit that any moment he did not spend with her was a moment he missed her.

I mean… just look at her, the most beautiful woman in the world, who grew lovelier everyday.

She grinned when her husband turned over and caught her eye and he gave her the look. That look.

It was the look that promised her a long, long, sleepless night and her being unable to walk the very next day.

It was their look, of sultry kisses stolen in darkened corners when they’re too swamped with work to go home.

It was their look of later, when we’re alone, when the cameras stop rolling and it’s just you and me.

And her knees shook and her heart started galloping in her chest and she smiles, pressing a hand to her heart because after all these years, he still has the power to make her heart race with just one look.

Maybe that’s the power of true love. You can spend, hours, months, years, decades together and still feel like it’s the first time you see each other. The magic never dies.

“Hoy, baby, huwag mo akong titigan ng ganiyan, sa ganiyan tayo napapahamak sige ka.”

But her hand which caressed his and the hand she twined with his, the same hand the bore his ring, told him she did not mean one word that spilled out of her mind.

“Sure ka? You love the way I look at you.”

He raises her hand to his lips and presses an open, wet kiss to her knuckles and he grins when she shivers.

“Love, do you remember, the first time we were here?”

He asks her as she takes his hand in between both of hers and she slides her thumbs across the veins on the back of his hand. He hisses a breath through his teeth and she grins at him, sending him the look as well, where her lashes hoods her eyes and the candlelight makes her eyes seem like stars in the sky.

“Oo naman, will I forget that night? It was one of the best nights in my life, and… I’m so glad it’s you I get to be with here. There’s no one else I’d rather be with, nowhere else I’d rather go. I love you babe.”

She says the last sentence with a cheesy, teasing grin on her face, titling her head to the side and sticking her tongue out at him and Lord, he just fell in love with her a little more.

He grins and also sandwiches her hands in between his own and traces her rings on her hand. The plain rose gold band that matches the one around his own finger, and the small, slightly wonky looking blue diamond that served as her engagement ring.

A ring he bought off the streets of Paris on the same night, three years ago.

“Do you know Naddie? You are as lovely tonight as you were then. And you grow lovelier still. I love you so much… Happy Anniversary love.”

He grins at her and she looks around the restaurant before rising on her chair and leaning to smack him on the lips.

“Happy Anniversary baby.”

She answers him back and she quickly regains her seat and sticking her tongue out when she saw his eyes darken and he swallowed thickly before downing the contents of his glass.

“You don’t play fair love.”

He hissed as her foot slid against his calf under the table and she could only grin because look at her flustered and adorable husband.

“You don’t play fair either. You keep giving me the look!”

“What look?” He asks innocently as he does the thing with his eyebrows and looks at her like a big bad wolf would have looked at Red Riding Hood.

She grins and slides her foot higher up his calf and relishing the flushing of his ears.

“That look love. That look that is the reason why we have two kids in three years.”

He laughs at the mention of their children and he drops the sleazy look on his face and returns to grasping her hands.

“Hey SJ was not my fault!”

“Really? SJ wouldn’t be here if you hadn’t given me that look!”

She reaches over to swipe at his face and he merely wiggles his eyebrows at her.

“Kasalanan ko ba? Na masyado kang affected sa kagwapuhan ko? Aminin mo.”

She scoffs at him and tugs her hands free from his and crosses her arms over her chest.

He grins. She couldn’t have known just how much that gesture highlighted her décolletage for his visual pleasure.

“May I remind you exactly what happened that night that lead to SJ?”

March 2016

He tried to play it off as if he had only started planning this just recently, but she knew just how much effort, begging and painstaking negotiation he had to go through to harangue 2 days of free time for the both of them to go about Paris on their own without cameras.

But she did not let him know that she knew, because he didn’t want her to know. James was not the type to make you uncomfortable with the enormity of his gesture.

He wanted her to enjoy and he was going to get what he wanted.

He looked over to her, away from the view that he was admiring and smiled.

She picked up her glass and gestured at his.

“A toast.”

He grins and picks up his glass and his eyes turn to stare right at her.

“To what?”

“To fulfilling our dreams, to love, to you being here.”

His eyes soften at her words and he softly clinks his glass against hers.

“I’ve always wanted to see Paris at night. My dad and my mum had been here once. And my dad tells me this was one of the places where he could say love was alive.” He grins shrugging and looking out the window again, just watching the Parisian lights twinkle in the night sky.

“Of course that might just be the copious amounts of alcohol he and mum must have drunk but Nadine, sitting here with you, holding your hand and watching the city lights twinkle? I can say it… this is the place where love is alive. Do you know how lovely you are? How lovely everything you are is? You make love alive.”

He turns back to her and gives her that look again, that quiet smoldering look that promises her a lifetime of this, of feeling like she was on top of the world, of breathing in, drinking in love in its purest form.

And that was the moment she knew… she was going to spend the rest of her life with him.

They were both a bit tipsy from the alcohol, but they were holding on to each other, and they were laughing as they walked out of the Eiffle Tower and walked along the streets, eventually coming along the banks of the River Seine and he suddenly stops in his tracks and takes her hand.

He stops in the middle of the street, the tower big and bright and lovely behind him, the hustle of the river and the wind singing in her ears as he tugs her to face him and framing her face and brushing the hair away from her cheeks.

He never looked more beautiful in that moment.

“You made my every dream come true. Coming her, in the City of Love, eating dinner… just eating dinner with the girl I love as the city lights twinkled, that was all I ever wanted. But you made it mean so much more, you made it lovelier. You made it into something beyond what I could imagine and I know it’s too fast, and I know our careers are on the line but I also know that you’re the one. I will spend the rest of forever with you. So… Nadine Alexis Lustre…”

She gasped as he got down on one knee in front of her, with his hair flying with the breeze and the Eiffle Tower lights making his eyes shinier and brighter than they normally are, and she could swear that in that moment, she has never been happier or more in love.

“Will you marry me? Not soon, but someday, when we’re ready. I want to make this promise to you here, in this city, where love is alive, and you made love alive. I love you Nadine, and it would be my honor to love you for the rest of your life, so… will you marry me?”

How could she say now when he was on bended knees in front of the Eiffle Tower after the most romantic date of her life, with the man who made her laugh, and said all the right things at exactly the same time? How can she say no when he was so utterly lovely, and she can see through his soul and his sincerity? How can she say no when she knows, this was a forever kind of love.

“Where’s my ring?”

She asks through the sheen of tears coating her throat. He blinks his eyes and scratches the back of his head.

“Damn, way to ruin a proposal right. I didn’t exactly plan this…”

She giggles at his obvious discomfort but before she can reach over and soothe him, he was up on his feet, tugging her hand and they were running through the bridge, crossing the river and heading into the heart of the city, and she was laughing, and laughing, just holding on to him and not letting go.

He enters the familiar boutique with it’s traditional blue insignia and he takes her in front of a display case.

“Pick anything you want.”

She grins at him, and takes his hand and tugs him out of the store. She runs towards the midnight fair, looking around before coming into a vintage jeweler shop.

“Here. This is the place I want to buy a ring. Because this place, like you, is not one you would expect to come. Some store brand that makes one size fits all rings, that is not how I would like to remember you James. You were the one thing in my life I never thought to find, and you came to me in the most unexpected place, so I want our love story to be the same. Yes. I will marry you. I will spend the rest of my life with you ,because you are the gift the Lord gave me, and I will not spend a day any more that I am not your wife.”

He kisses her then and there, in the middle of the street, to the amusement and laughter of the people around them, and love never felt this good, this alive, before that moment.

March 2019

“You have to admit, as proposals go, it was the best.”

James said as he thumbed the weird ring he picked out for Nadine that night in the vintage market, and she nods her head at him.

“It was the best night of my life.”

He winks at her as he raises her hands once more and sucks on her knuckle.

Her breath hitches and she inches her foot down to step on his foot hard.

He winces but keeps his hold on her hands.

“Are you sure it was my proposal that made it the best night ever… or…”

“JAMES! Stop that!”

But she can’t deny the fact that… well… that made her night extra special as well.

“We made SJ that night.”

She sighs, remembering that wonderful night, of James, nothing but James, miles and piles of James and there was nothing in this world more beautiful than her naked husband.

“You know… we can make baby number three the same way…”

He sents her that look again and just like that her body is set on fire.

“James! Stella is just two years old! We just finished with both of their terrible 2 stage, we’re just getting back on our feet!”

But she could imagine it in her head, having one more baby to hold in her arms…

“Well Naddie, we’re older now, you know, we won’t be able to get a baby in one, like with SJ. And Stella for that matter.”

She scowls darkly at him and shakes her head.

“With your weird virility? I would not be surprised.”

“Come on love… it would be fun.”

He wiggled his eyebrows at her and she laughs, knowing that she’s powerless against his looks. And even more powerless against the knowledge that this… was for forever, and that one day when they’re 90, and they’re seven children have seven children of her own, she’d still look at James, and see the man who looked at her as if she was all the stars in the sky as Paris glowed brightly around them.
