not to be Predictable™ but… i casually threw it in in the middle of a Legend of Korra rant..

I thought of another reason why it doesn’t make sense for Aang to prioritize his aibending child over his other children

there’s fucking no way Katara would let that happen?? especially with their daughter who’s a waterbender!! like I can understand if Bumi felt neglected because he was a nonbender, that makes sense. (he’s the first born, but he wasn’t a bender and he might feel like he wasn’t *enough*) plus that fits in better with the themes established in the first season

but Katara has been fighting against people who underestimate her since the first episode if atla, and she never had a hard time arguing with Aang because he’s the avatar. there’s no way he should’ve been able to get away with treating his children so unfairly while she was around
