he became an amazing person all because roman was in his life

ashryan44  asked:

Hey! I saw your post on HOO continuity errors and I was wondering what some of them were. I know the one I picked up was when Blackjack spontaneously turned from female to male😂

There’s a full list on the official wiki here, but I’ll highlight a few of my personal favourites (only ones that actually impact the plot, though there are plenty of ridiculous name swaps that should be noted) for you too:

Plot:

  • [SoN] Thanatos tells Frank after the giant is unconscious that they will meet again in unfavorable circumstances. However, this meeting does not occur at all, even until the end of the series.
  • [SoN] Hazel is told by Pluto that her curse would be washed off by a descendant of Neptune. However, further details about who washed it off, how, where, when, etc., are not mentioned even until the last book.
  • [TLH] When Jason’s memories return, he mentions Hazel as a good friend of his. However in The House of Hades, Hazel admits that she has a hard time warming up to him, and that she can’t get a read on him… This implies that the two barely knew each other before Jason disappears. (He may have considered her a friend while she didn’t return the feeling.)
  • [MoA] Hercules warns Piper and Jason that he will kill them and their friends on the Argo II if they try and contact them. Later when Piper thinks of a plan to pass Hercules without giving him the Cornucopia, she uses an Iris Message to contact them.
  • [HoH] Nico bitterly says that since he is a son of Hades, he has no friends and “might as well be covered in blood or sewage,” judging from how almost all other demigods fear and hate him. However in The Last Olympian after Nico helps save Olympus, Percy states that everybody acted friendly with him and complimented his amazing fighting skills. Even the Ares demigods consider him “pretty cool.”
  • [BoO] Neither Hazel nor Frank’s curses are resolved.
  • [BoO] Percy’s fatal flaw of loyalty doesn’t come into play, despite being hyped up throughout the series.

Timeline:

  • [MoA] Percy mentions that he knew the Romans for weeks. However by this point in the series he had only known the Romans for about ten days, including the time he spent with Frank and Hazel on his quest.
  • [SoN] Percy yells at Hera for taking eight months of his life from him. However Percy was only gone for six months, as he vanished from Camp Half-Blood on December 13 and then appeared at Camp Jupiter in late June. (Percy might have thought that he was gone that long, because Jason went missing from the Roman Camp in October, eight months before the book’s events. He eventually realized his error in The Mark of Athena.) [Even so, where the hell was Percy being kept between December and June????]
  • [TLH] While Jason is looking at the old photo of Annabeth Chase, Luke Castellan, and Thalia Grace in Cabin One, it is said that in the photo Thalia was “maybe fifteen”- however, Thalia couldn’t have been any older than twelve or thirteen at the time the photo was taken.
  • [MoA] Percy mentions that it has been five years since he arrived at Camp Half-Blood. However The Mark of Athena only takes place four years after the events of The Lightning Thief.
  • [Various] Nico’s age is stated to be 14, but according to the timeline of PJO he should only be 13.

Bonus! Things from other books in the universe that don’t match HoO:

PJO:

  • Chiron claims that the Titans are still alive but imprisoned. This seems to be supported by Poseidon telling Percy that the Titans cannot die anymore than the gods can. However, their claims are contradicted in House of Hades when Krios says that Jason Grace killed him.
  • Percy speaks in Latin, although Greek demigods should speak in Greek and not Latin.
  • In The Blood of Olympus, Nico claims that he did not design the Hades cabin despite him designing and having it built in The Last Olympian.

The Demigod Files:

  • During their trek through the Underworld with Nico di Angelo, Percy thinks to himself that because Thalia is now immortal, she had not aged since about a year ago, and that would mean he was now older than her. However, Thalia was a day younger than sixteen when she became a Hunter in The Titan’s Curse, and since The Sword of Hades takes place on Christmas Day of the same year as The Battle of the Labyrinth, Percy would only be about fifteen and a half and therefore younger than Thalia.
  • In The Lost Hero Nyssa tells Leo Valdez that Charles Beckendorf found the Bronze Dragon in pieces and rebuilt it. However, in The Demigod Files, Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, and Silena Beauregard were the ones who found the dragon, and Annabeth fixed it.

The Demigod Diaries:

  • Thalia said that Amaltheia led her to find Luke the night that she ran away. But Thalia said that she ran away when Jason disappeared when he was two, and since she was seven when he was born, that would’ve made her nine-years-old, but Thalia and Luke only knew each other a few months before they met Annabeth, and they were 12 and 14-years-old.
  • It is mentioned that Leo has been working on the Argo II for two months, despite this story taking place less than a week after the events of The Lost Hero.

Bonus Bonus! Submitted by other people who read my post:

  • Anonymous said: One thing about your hoo rant that imo you might have missed: in tlh chiron kept saying stuff about him being sworn to secrecy about things but they never actually see what he was being sworn about
  • @hesperathusa said: NO THE MOST ANNOYING THING WAS POSEIDON TEASING PERCY ABOUT HAVING SIBLING IN TLO AND HIM NOT HAVING ANY IN HoO!!!!!!!! Ughhhhhh
  • Anonymous said: Did the scene in BoO with Jason talking to Percy about him wanting to die seem a tad OOC? I know Jason is awkward with stuff like that and all (ie: Cupid scene) but I think he’d know better and encourage Percy to talk it out or something?
  • @percabeth-is-endless added: don’t forget enough with the ‘no demigod will heal your heart’ bullshit with reyna like can she just be healed on her own??
Idle Talk

REQUEST by MBNMNB04: Hey can I request a imagine/oneshot for a Roman Reigns. Where the reader is also a WWE diva. And when another diva and superstar start talking trash about Roman, the reader confronts them. Kinda like what happened when The Miz and Maryse had John Cena as their guest and later on Maryse slaps John. Then Nikki Bella comes out tell Maryse “You mess with my man, I’m gonna break you bitch. You hear me?” Sorry if this is a lot. I just love your writing!

Warnings: Language
(A/N) I’m sorry it took so long and my apologies to y’all since I had difficulties writing this so I wanna thank @x-fivefoot for helping me out with this request since I really struggled with it😚

——————–

‘’You ready for tonight?’’ my boyfriend Roman asked me as we were in his locker room.

‘’Yes, I’m all set,’’ I replied with a smile as I took his hand in mine, ‘’You nervous?’’

‘’Babygirl, me and nervous? Not at all. Besides, I have you to cheer for me on the side of the ring so I’ll be fine.’’ He smiled. Just like my boyfriend, I was in the WWE business. A few months ago, I made my debut on RAW and Roman and I immediately fell for each other. I know how cliché ‘love at first sight’ sounds, but that’s what happened with us.

‘’You have a big ego Reigns,’’ I laughed and kissed him.

‘’I’m aware of that baby, but you praising me every day, makes it even bigger.’’

‘’Keep on going like that and I’ll stop all the compliments,’’ I warned him playfully. He pretended to zip his mouth shut and throwing away the imaginary key. ‘’Alright, so I’m going to check the arena out for a bit, you just stay here and get ready okay?’’

‘’Whatever you wish, but come back asap.’’ He pouted his lips, wanting another kiss. I rolled my eyes and gave in, kissing him one more time before I exited the dressing room. I decided to just look around a bit, curious about how the whole arena looked like. When I was a kid, me and my parents used to watch wrestling all the time and as a little girl, I wanted nothing more than being a part of the business. So when I was probably around twenty years old, I decided to follow my childhood dream to become a wrestler myself. There was nothing more I enjoyed doing than working out every day, even though my body couldn’t even function anymore the day after, developing and getting to know different and new tactics, being trained and being guided to the wrestler, more important, woman I am this present day. Of course, there were bumps on the way, but everyone has that when you’re dreaming of something that is hard to accomplish. Once I could go from NXT to RAW, it was like my life couldn’t get any better. But the moment Roman and I saw each other and finally talked, I knew that I didn’t need or want anything else. He became so important to me in such short time and being around him made me feel even more confident. We trained together, traveled together, shared hotel rooms together, he would give me advice on how to beat everyone’s asses in the ring. Sure, we also have some alone time, everyone needs that from time to time. I’m blessed to have him in my life so you could imagine that when someone said or did something that would be in his disadvantage, I would step in and fight that person. As I made my way to the ring, I could hear someone mention Roman’s name. I frowned and walked over to a spot where I could hear what female voice was saying.

‘’Honestly, he’s just a show-off and an comedian,’’ Maryse laughed as she was talking to Lana. ‘’Not to mention his lack of experience and talent. He pretends to be ‘the guy’ around here, that this is his so called ‘yard’ or whatever, but how funny is that.’’

‘’You can’t just talk about him that way,’’ Lana replied as she rolled her eyes. Almost everyone knows by now that Maryse loves to talk shit about almost anyone who she dislikes, so I wasn’t surprised. But the fact that she was talking about my man that way, made me pissed.

‘’Lana, you know damn well that I’m right and his girlfriend, what’s her name again,’’ she pretended to think, tapping her heels on the floor, ‘’y/n, that was it, she’s getting on my nerves. Now that she’s new, everyone is talking about her and that pathetic boyfriend of hers. She’s dating him just because of the fame. Not that it helps,’’ she laughs and walks off. My blood was boiling while I walked towards Lana. She saw me coming her way, biting her lips, not knowing what to say.

‘’Y/n,’’ she started, ‘ ’Before you decide to break everything on your path, I hope you’re not mad at me.’’

‘’Mad at you? Why would I be mad at you?’’ I asked as I sat on the side of the ring, facing Lana who was standing in front of me.

‘’I don’t know, maybe for not saying anything.’’ She answered guilty.

‘’Lana, you did stood up for him and I appreciate that, I really do. It’s just that she frustrates the shit out of me, oh my g0d,’’ I groaned. ‘’She has been talking crap about me and Roman for quite some time and I’m on the edge of losing my shit.’’

‘’I can imagine,’’ Lana sighed.

‘’I couldn’t care less about the fact she’s talking about me, but no one talks about Roman that way.’’ I felt myself getting more angrier than I already was and a plan formed in my head.

‘’Y/n, I know that face, what are you up to?’’ Lana asked concerned. I’ve known Lana for a long time and we became close friends. She knows me too well, sometimes even better than I know myself.

‘’Nothing,’’ I simply said and hopped off  the ring, ‘’you’ll see tonight.’’ Giving Lana a hug, I walked back to the locker room. As I walked inside, I saw roman sitting on the couch, scrolling through his phone. He looked up at me and frowned.

‘’Alright, spill it out, what’s wrong?’’

‘’There’s nothing wrong,’’ I lied and sat down next to him.

‘’Oh yes there is, I ain’t stupid babygirl.’’

‘’I never said you were,’’ I gave him a smile and rested my head on his shoulder, ‘’You’ll see tonight.’’

——————–

‘’You ready to go,’’ Roman asked me as I stood next to him, holding his hand. I nodded and walked right behind him as we walked out of the door. The fans started to scream loudly as we came out; some of them booed, some of them cheered. It felt amazing going out there, especially having Roman by my side. He had a match with Jericho and he was already standing in the ring.

‘’I see you couldn’t handle me on your own Reigns,’’ Jericho laughed as Roman stepped into the ring.

‘’The fact you lost your ‘best friend’, doesn’t mean I can’t bring mine.’’

‘’Touché, let’s hope for your sake you fight as good as you talk,’’ Chris said as the bell ringed. Roman gave me a kiss on the cheek before he started the match by slapping Jericho in the face. I stood behind the ropes, cheering for Roman and occasionally shouting what he should do and what not. Both Roman and Jericho got beaten up pretty bad, but they kept going. Eventually, Roman performed this breathtaking Samoan drop, causing him to win the match. Boy, I was so proud of him. I stepped into the ring and gave Roman a big hug before grabbing the mic in the corner. He frowned at me, not knowing what I was about to do. As Jericho rolled out of the ring I started to walk back and forth.

‘’So I overheard something,’’ I started, ‘’I heard that someone named Maryse, has been talking crap about my man and I ain’t gonna let that happen just like that of course. So I thought, why not clear the air a little.’’

‘’What has she been saying about me?’’ Roman asked with a grin on his face.

‘’Something like you being a comedian and a huge show-off. She also mentioned that I’m dating you because of the fame,’’ I laughed. ‘’I’m surprised you can’t see that your man is comedian and a pretty big show-off too. I mean, what’s it with ‘The Miz Show’ anyways?’’ As I was about to continue, Maryse and her husband came out.

‘’Roman, why don’t you keep your lady in control man? That’s not the attitude a new diva is supposed to have,’’ Mike said shaking his head.

‘’My lady is independent and has her own will and unlike yours, mine is standing up for me and she has my back. So how about the two of you just turn around and walk away before we kick your asses.’’ Roman angrily said.

‘’Roman honey, can’t you see that y/n is just dating you because of the fame and your money?’’ Maryse said. That made me snap.

‘’Listen up, doll, why would I date anyone for the fame and the money? I’m in the business as well so I gain my own money and my own fame. I have my own fans and my own style. It’s called being original, but I don’t expect you to know what it means. And just one more thing,’’ I continued, ‘’If I ever catch you talking crap about my man again, I’ll fucking kick your ass.’’ I dropped the mic and my music started to play. Everyone seemed to be cheering and I smiled as Maryse and Mike walked off irritated. Roman gave me a hug and shook his head

‘’You’re something else y/n, thank you,’’ he smiled.

‘’You’re welcome Ro,’’ I laughed. He gave me a kiss before we walked back to the locker room.

You and Seth bought yourselves some iced coffee before hiking. Seth picked out a route while you were showering. It was a warm and sunny day. You talked about everything you had missed during your time off. Seth reported about new make up artists and staff. You were happy to hear that Bayley, Sami and Roman were doing just fine. As the time passed, your conversation with Seth grew more serious. You told him about your doubts and fears. Seth silently listened to you, giving slight input here and there. He knew that you had to get this off your chest.

“You know, I followed Raw and don’t get me wrong, I know that they had to do this, but now that Bayley’s storyline was fused with mine, where am I supposed to be? Like what new story will I be in?” You asked him.

“Hm, I see,” he nodded.

“What if I get in one of these stupid love storylines. Or even worse, what if I become just a Jobber because they don’t have a story for me. I mean there are enough babyfaces with similar personas, they won’t need me anymore.”

“Just to clear one fundamental fact here, Y/N. You can’t be replaced by anybody. Raw does need you!” Seth looked down at you with an honest expression. You blushed slightly under his gaze.

“Have you ever thought of maybe changing things up a bit?”

“What do you mean?”

“Like gimmick wise. Now after your time off you can comeback like a new Y/N. Changed attitude, wanting the title back because it got ‘stolen’ from you.”

“So you’re telling me to turn heel?” You creased your eyebrow.

“Well yeah, I mean you don’t have to go the whole way. You could still be a naive face who gives Charlotte the fault,” he furrowed his eyebrows, taunting you.

“You know what, I think I like the idea of a heel Y/N,” you smirked. “Do you think I could pull that off?” You worried instantly.

“Of course! You’re feisty and your constant sarcasm comes in handy. Plus, your theme is written for you to be heel.”

“Whats wrong with my theme?”

“Nothing. It’s just a bit too… heavy?”

“Too heavy? Well, Nico Vega’s song fits perfectly to my nickname,” you shrugged your shoulders.

“Yeah I know, the Beast,” he chuckled. “When I first heard of you I thought you would be that angry and self-centered heel. But then, when you made your first entrance, strolling down the ramp with a big smile and these cute little pigtails, I have to admit, I was kinda disappointed… ” he laughed. You playfully hit his arm causing him to pull a pain consumed expression which made you laugh too.

“Oh shut up, Rollins! You’re supposed to be a face too and your tune isn’t all lovey dovey,” you stuck out your tongue. Seth began to laugh more.

“I’m not saying that I don’t like your persona. I mean, it’s technically your real self, it’s just really different from what I expected at that time. But I really think you should consider the heel turn.” You nodded in agreement.

“You know, Y/N, the most important thing right now is that you’ve been cleared and are able to wrestle again. That’s the first and most important step in the right direction. All the other details will come together by themselves.”

“You’re right… I actually have a meeting with Stephanie in about two weeks. I’m probably gonna mention that idea.”

“She’s going to love your idea.”

“Your idea,” you corrected him.

“Our idea,” he smiled down at you. He had locked his gaze with yours just a bit too long when he cleared his throat.

“Hey, wanna make a selfie?” He smiled like a little child. Even though you hated pictures you couldn’t deny his silly request.

While driving you home Seth made a deal with you to start your training again. To ease the beginning of your training he offered to be your personal motivator/taxi driver. You two decided that with the gimmick change you could also change your workout. Of course, Seth suggested cross fit. You were hesitant at first, but he pouted and made big eyes which eventually made you cave in once again. Secretly you were happy that Seth wanted to spend even more time with you.

“Soooo, we’ll see each other on Monday?” He smiled out of his car window.

“We’ll seee…” you teased.

“Oh come on. It might be different in the beginning but you’re gonna love the results. Plus, we can be training buddies,” he argued.

“You got me there, Rollins,” you winked.

“And the week after that, would you fancy a movie night?”

“After the meeting? Sure, why not. But we have to get a bucket of ice cream if Steph tells me that I’m gonna be a jobber,” you joked.

“Of course. A bucket just for yourself. It’s my treat,” he proclaimed with a warm smile. “Then, ‘til Monday!” He said while he drove away. You waved to him until you couldn’t see his car anymore.

Your phone buzzed minutes later in your pocket. When you took it out, a wide smile formed on your face. Seth had tagged you in the selfie he took earlier during the hike with the caption: “Taking the first step in the right direction!” It was a cute picture of you two. You stood slightly in front of Seth and he leaned over your shoulder. Both of you were smiling. This was the first time in weeks you saw yourself with a genuine smile. You were happy to have such an amazing friend, even if it meant you had to stay quiet about your feelings for him. It was better to keep things how they were.

The following week you really started to train again. You couldn’t believe it until you were lying sore on your bed. Of course you had accepted Seth’s request and joined him at his crossfit training. It was hard the first few days. It was just so different from your regular workout but it felt good to be sore again. It also felt relief because you didn’t have the time to overthink every single tiny thing in your life. After the training, you and Seth usually hadlunch together and spent most of the day together. He didn’t leave your side and he really helped you with your self esteem with nightly discussions about what you felt and how he saw you differently. Sleepovers became normal. He would listen for hours as you talked about your insecurities, encouraging you to become the old but slightly improved woman you were. It felt so good to be back on track again.

The Monday morning you had your meeting with Stephanie McMahon, Seth picked you up to drive together to the venue. He comforted you during the ride, telling you that everything was going to turn out great. You even stopped at a diner to get breakfast first.

When you entered the venue, you heard Bayley squealing immediately.

“Y/N! Y/N, you’re back!” She stormed over to you, hugging you violently. You gasped out.

“Yeah I am, I guess,” you mumbled.

“Bayley, don’t crush her. She was out long enough. She doesn’t need another injury.” Seth shook his head.

“Uh, yes, of course,” she said slowly loosening her grip. “I’m just so happy to see you again!” She was jumping up and down.

“Me too. I missed you Bales,” you beamed at her, “and your hugs of course.”

“Aww me too! So, how are you doin?”

After a little small talk with Bayley, you decided to greet the rest of the roster. Seth had to record a segment so he had to leave you by yourself. But you didn’t mind it. You walked around with Bayley, hugging and catching up with your friends. You apologised to everyone for your odd behavior but most of them shrugged it off and assured you that it didn’t matter and that they were just happy to see you again.

When it was time for your meeting you began to grow nervous. Would Stephanie be ok with your ideas? Would they even have a storyline planned for you? Or were you damned to become a jobber. You entered the office on wobbly legs. That meeting would determine your future in the WWE.

“I don’t know man, I don’t think I can do that to her,” you heard Seth as you strolled down the corridor.

“Just tell her!” Roman almost desperately groaned.

“Tell her what?” You asked as you came around the corner. Seth swiftly turned with a shocked expression. You looked at him puzzled.

“Yeah, tell her what, Seth?” Roman mocked.

“Ehh… I have to tell you that we… can’t… have the movie evening tonight because… because my TV is broken,” Seth stuttered. You raised an eyebrow.

“Ok? Well, you know that I still have a totally functional TV at my flat so we don’t have to cancel, if you don’t have anything planned,” you suggested.

“Oh brilliant. Of course, I didn’t think about that. Then it’s still a thing,” Seth nervously chuckled. Roman shook his head in amusement. He said goodbye after a few minutes and Seth walked with you to the entrance together.

“If you have to do something else, we don’t have to watch movies tonight, you know?” You said shyly.

“No, no! Of course I wanna watch movies with you, Y/N. I just didn’t think of your TV.” He sounded nervous.

“Oh ok…” You nodded.

“So, how was the meeting?” Seth ended the awkward silence.

“It was ok. I’m cleared so Steph is letting me wrestle again. They’re planning a big comeback.”

“Aaand?”

“And what?” You innocently raised your eyebrows.

“You know exactly what! Don’t make me pull every single bit of information out of your nose!”

“Ok, ok. Calm down,” you laughed. “Well, the creative team was already planning a new storyline for me as a face-”

“Oh..”

“…but Stephanie likes the idea so much that she’s going to talk to them and make me a heel.” You grinned like a cheshire cat.

“That’s awesome! This is going to be exciting, Y/N.” Seth pulled you into a hug swirling you around.

“Yeah, right?” You giggled happily.

The ride went normal. You talked as if nothing happened even though Seth’s behavior seemed kinda odd. When you arrived at your flat, you ordered Pizza and Seth went for a quick shower. He had some spare clothes at your place from your occasional sleep overs.

While you were setting everything up, the door bell rang. ‘Goodness gracious’ you thought. You hadn’t eaten anything besides the breakfast Seth had gotten you and that consisted of a coffee and marmalade toast. You were way too nervous because of your meeting that midday to even think about eating.

You swayed to your front door. While paying, the delivery guy tried to make some unwelcoming small talk.

“2 big Pizzas for the pretty lady.” he cooed.

“Yep,” I said, giving him an uncomfortable small smile.

“Are you even able to eat these by yourself?” You weren’t sure where the conversation was going but you definitely didn’t like it.

“Probably,” you answered short, hoping that he would give you your change quickly so you could close the door.

“Want help?” He asked in a husky voice quirking his eyebrows.

“Not really,” you answered coldly. Could he hurry with that damn change?

“Oh come on babe. I’m volunteering here.”

“You know what, keep the rest,” you scoffed and tried to shut the door with a loud bang. But his foot denied it. You looked at his foot, then at him in shock.

“Don’t be so cold, sweetheart,” he hissed. “I’m just trying to be nice.” He had an arrogant smile on his lips. You just stood there, frozen, unable to do anything.

“You heard the lady!” A strong, enraged voice came up behind you. ‘Seth’ you thought, feeling relieved. ‘Right on time.’

“Woow, woow!” The guy gestured wildly, “everything’s alright, we were just chatting. Nothing to get upset over, big boy.”

“Yeah? It sounded kinda different to me.” Seth glared at him.

“Hey man, you got to understand that I have this effect on chicks. You should probably get your lil bitch under control,” he laughed. With that, Seth’s eyes got even darker. His chest heaved violently, nostrils flaring rapidly.

“I recommend that you leave my property right now! If someone talks like that about the woman I love, I can’t promise I won’t straight up murder the son of a bitch. So, get your ass going, pronto!” he yelled. The smeary guy audibly gulped and took a few steps back before turning around and basically running to his car. He looked mortified. Seth grimly chuckled, he was proud of his effect on that jackass. He slowly closed the door as he glared after the car. You had never seen Seth like that. But that didn’t mean you didn’t like the protective and impulsive side of him.

“Did you mean that?” You asked him as soon as the door locked. You didn’t know where that boost of confidence came from, but you definitely welcomed it.

“Eh, you know… love like… like a really close friend… like a sister,” he stammered trying desperately to avoid your gaze.

“Oh, that’s a shame,” you exclaimed, your gaze never leaving his.

“Shame? So you wouldn’t mind if… ” His mouth gaped.

“Why should I mind? That the man I’m completely and utterly in love with, the one man who’s my best friend and also knows me the better than anyone, the man that never leaves my side, who’s always there for me, the man who proved multiple times that he cares about me and supports even my stupidest ideas, that this man shares the same feelings I have for him? What did I overlook? Where is there anything to mind?” You looked him deep in the eyes. It felt so good to voice all of those feelings you had gathered over the years. Seth still stood in front of you but during your declaration he slowly moved closer and closer until he was only a few inches away from you. You could already feel the heat radiating from him.

“Aren’t you afraid?” He merrily whispered.

“Of course I’m afraid, I’m constantly afraid. But I’m less afraid of everything that might come if I know I have exactly that man I described right next to me.” You smiled sincerely at him knowing that it was probably the most corny love declaration.

“I love you! I really, really love you! I’ve loved you since I saw you coming though that curtain in NXT.” With those words, Seth’s hand reached out to your face, his thumb caressed your cheek shortly before he pulled you in for a kiss. The kiss was slow and passionate. You could feel all the pent-up emotions behind it. And not just your own.

As you pulled away after what seemed like an eternity, you looked up again to see Seth with a sly expression.

“We should’ve done this waaaay earlier,” he exclaimed making you giggle against his chest.

It's Time

I’ve seen a lot of soulmate prompts and a few involving countdowns and stuff so I thought I’d try my hand at one.

When Elizabeth Cooper was born, she had a countdown like any other to the day when she would meet the love of her life. She used to ask when that would be and her mother would be able to tell her the exact time, day, month, and year as well as how old Betty would be and the simple math of converting seconds into real time. Years, weeks, months, days… It was everything to her and she was ridiculously excited.

When she was younger, she had a short lived crush on her neighbour, Archie Andrews, but it got crushed when her mother told her that she was being ridiculous. Why be with someone when you had another who was perfect for you, waiting? Years later, Alice would allude to the man she loved before Hal but she refused to go into detail. She barely even let that fact alone, slip. They were high school sweethearts, after all, and dating a boy before that didn’t fit the narrative.

Time went by and her neighbour Archie met a girl named Veronica when his timer hit zero. The two girls became quick friends, though Betty looked at the two wistfully most of the time, wanting what they had instead of being stuck as the third wheel. Even her friend Kevin had met his match, a mysterious bad boy by the name of Joaquin. Betty was happy for her friends but she was definitely jealous.

Veronica had to keep her busy on the last week leading up to the moment. They had mani pedis, they went to the beach, they saw a movie, they got hair cuts, and finally they went shopping to look for the perfect outfit. Veronica was a firm believer in first impressions, though she knew future lover boy would think her girl looked good in anything, which was true.
V bought her a peachy dress that flared out at the bottom. She curled her hair up and gave her shimmering makeup. On the outside, it looked like she was getting ready for a school dance. Most people didn’t make a big deal out of meeting their other half but Betty was a total romantic at heart so it was worth celebrating. Her eyes shon in excitement, glittering like diamonds.
“Oh my gosh Betty, you look like an angel.” The blondie blushed as her friend held her hand to her face and looked like she could cry. “Now we just have to wander around so we’ll be wherever we’re supposed to be. You certainly won’t meet your soulmate here at your house.”

Betty was shoo’d over to the door. She tried to put her heels on but she was more of a flats person and was having problems with the straps. She was panicking like she couldn’t get her seatbelt on in time.
“Betty, Betty, it’s okay, we still have time.” Her heart was pounding out of her chest and she was terrified that she would miss him or that she wouldn’t even leave the house by the time her clock went off. She knew she let Veronica go too far and it took too long so now they were in a rush and Betty could barely stand in the heels, let alone walk. She was panicking as she nearly tripped on her way to the door. They ended up on the sidewalk when the clock got closer and closer. They glanced over at Archie’s to see him yelling at his garage.
“If you miss this, you’re going to regret it for the rest of your life!” Archie yelled, banging on the door.
“I’m a loner by nature! I don’t need some girl to make me soft! I’m weird and I like being by myself. Whoever she is, she’ll just have to find someone else. I’m not leaving this room until after it hits zero.”
“Aren’t you afraid of what might happen if it hits zero and you two don’t meet? What if some weird paradox happens and the universe is sucked into itself? You’re being really selfish, dooming us all with an Armageddon, man!”
Veronica put her hand on her boy friend’s shoulder. “I’ll go talk to him. We’re running out of time.” Archie nodded.
“I’m coming in, Jug!” Veronica stormed into the room. “Now you come out or I will drag you out! I’m running late and don’t have time for this!” Veronica pulled him by the jacket.
Betty was crying. 3, 2, 1.
It was like time had stopped. Out of the garage had come a girl pulling a boy in a fleece lined denim jacket despite the fact that it was way too hot for that. He had messy black hair as he was not dressed to impress, and he wore a crown beanie like a real Prince Charming.

Betty started to blush. He was the most beautiful man she had ever laid eyes on and she had met him when the timer hit zero. She was filled with glee, absolutely awestruck.

He looked at her. “Shit.” He had been trying to avoid this moment his whole entire life and yet here she was, in front of him. He thought the countdown would kill him and he had to pinch himself because he thought she was an angel.

“Wow, did you know about this?!” Veronica glared at Archie, giving him way too much credit.

“No, I mean I knew their times were coming up but the thought that they had the same countdown never occurred to me.” He scratched the back of his head, feeling a bit dumb. “So Jughead, this is my neighbour Betty Cooper, and Betty this is Jughead Jones. You haven’t met him because he lives on the Southside, where I used to live before we moved here when I was little. I brought Ronnie to meet him because I wanted his approval, even though we never have time to hang out anymore. His dad said I should get him ready to meet you, so that’s why he was over at my house.”
“Yeah and I didn’t want to.” Jughead Jones glared at his childhood friend, Archie Andrews. His eyes softened when they moved over to look at Betty. “God was I an idiot. I just didn’t want to get hurt. My mom and my dad were destined or whatever and they don’t even live in the same city anymore. You’re beautiful, like an angel. Why fate would pair you up with a loser like me I’ll never know.”
She smiled up at him. “Well, tall dark and handsome, let’s just take this one day at a time, okay?” She put her hand to his face, trying to comfort him. Sparks shot through his body like Roman candles and his eyes dilated.
He swooped in and planted his lips on hers for the first time in his life, and it felt amazing. It was like the first time he tried cotton candy and he groaned. This girl was definitely going to be the death of him, but now that he had met her there was no going back and he would gladly follow her to the ends of the earth, fear of heartbreak be damned. She was worth the risk.

Blindspot Hiatus Project - 30 Day Blindspot Challenge

Day 1. Favorite Season

I was thinking that I would have an unpopular opinion when it came to this category but I’m glad @still-with-hearts-beating beat me to it. Her post is perfect so go check it out if you haven’t read it. She basically covers everything hat for me makes season 2 my favorite season. But considering my love for talking about the show, the fact that she covered everything isn’t gonna stop me from my rambling.

Technically, if we were going to judge the two seasons separately and “academically” if you wish, season 1 on paper should be the winner but as a fan and as a viewing experience now that season 2 has concluded, I have to say I prefer it over the first.

People usually talk about how first seasons are flawless or are always a show’s best. And in many ways that is true, especially shows that have ground breaking first seasons like Blindspot had. And there’s no denying how amazing it is. Almost technically flawless. The premise, the idea, the characters, the writing, the execution (minus the shaky cam)… everything was spot on.

And usually and very commonly, shows especially those that enjoyed stellar freshman seasons, suffer through a sophomore slump. And boy did Blindspot suffer. But, still with the slump, as an overall experience, I still prefer it.

First of all, all the character growth this season was incredible. In season 1, the characters were still… new, fresh and even though they were already very complex and developed characters back then, they really came into their own in season 2. They grew and developed and became far more interesting than the “younger” version of themselves we met in the first seasons. On the one had, the things they went through over the two years really help make them grow, and also, the writing for them became more mature as they became clearer as characters for the writers. And yes, we can argue about the “phase” that Kurt went through, but it was all part of a larger and bigger journey that gave us the Kurt of the last few episodes. He became a true leader, a great boss, a good friend, and was able to become more open and more aware of his own feelings. And that is just one example. Do not even get me started on Patterson, Tasha or Reade. And Jane and Roman? These two I can write a thesis long post about their journeys.

And speaking of Kurt and Jane, of course, my feelings about Jeller’s journey this season have been obvious. I mean, I have been annoyingly loud and vocal about them. But here’s let me reiterate. As much as I loved every single moment and scene and look from season 1, everything in season 2 was heightened, the stakes were higher, the emotions intensified, the angst multiplied, the fluff sweeter, the journey more exhausting and more challenging and more dangerous. They had an impossible uphill battle against each other and against themselves and against the world and still, they came out of it victorious and goddammit this was one of the most amazing journey for a couple that I have ever ever ever seen. To get to where they got from where they started, battling everything in their way, overcoming so many demons and challenges, relearning who they are and how to trust each other, allowing the other person back in dispute the pain and the betrayal, trusting them with their life and their heart… UGH EVERYTHING WAS SO PURE AND PRECIOUS AND BEAUTIFUL!!! THIS SHIP AND THEIR LOVE IS EVERYTHING.

And from Jeller, let’s move on to the team. One of my favorite “growths” this year has been the team going from “I’ve never seen his apartment” to hanging out at Kurt’s for drinks at least twice, coming over (and Patty baking a cake) for the baby thing (ugh) and Tasha just casually dropping by to talk about Reade. THAT IS GROWTH FOR YOU RIGHT THERE!!! They went from a kick ass CIRG team that is the elite squad at the NYO to being friends to be a tight knit family that NO ONE can come between!! And yes, Jane coming into their world did play a role in that, obviously, but it was also all their collective growth and coming together through the horrible things they had to endure. And so you know that going into season 3, Jane and Kurt will be on a journey not to rescue their team but to save their family, and it is going to be SPECTACULAR.

And then… there are the new characters, and namely, Roman. Oh boy, what can I say about Roman… honestly I cannot say much. We have a saying in Arabic that translates to “my testimony is flawed”. And that is the case with me and Roman because I just think he is the most incredible characters, the most interesting and complex and just… ugh. I am so not objective when it comes to him that really, there is nothing I can say that will not come out utterly biased. I think we hit the jack pot with Roman and with Luke and I hope we can keep him forever. he brings so much to the show, to the story and to this cast and group that he just single handedly made season 2 so much more… more! And do not get me started on his relationship with Jane! ::cries forever::

The over arching story with Sandstorm and the incomparable Shepherd/Michelle was also such a winning added element to the show. It was great having the characters focused on one endgame, on one struggle that brought them all together despite their differences and their interpersonal issues. It made it all more believable and against raised the stakes for absolutely everyone, made it all so much more personal and gave them so much to lose and also so much to gain. Also, Shepherd was a perfect perfect villain. None of this evil for the sake of being evil nonsense. She also is one of the most compelling, interesting and complex characters I have ever come across and Michelle Hurd was a TREASURE to have on this show.

When it comes to the second season of shows, the writers are always looking to try new things. They do know what the things that worked in season 1 are, they do, they haven’t forgotten them, but there is always the challenge of breaking out of this and trying something new and different, to challenge themselves as writers and push things further out of their comfort zone. And that isa gamble that does not always work. That is why shows slump in season 2. That exercise, and the learning curve in it, is so important because they come out of it stronger, it helps them understand their strengths and weaknesses away from the wonder of season one. They know their show better and their characters better.

I loved season 2 for so many reasons. It’s more mature and lost some of the novelty and the innocence of season 1. It is certainly darker and edgier and more experimental in certain areas. It did not lie on the laurels of season 1, did not depend on what made season 1 so good because the writers wanted to push the envelope to try new things and while this failed at some points, it also made it so much better eventually when they hit their stride.

And of course, Rich. Rich Dotcom. Thank you.

Honestly, the only other shows I remember enjoying their second seasons more are Alias and Haven.

And I am sorry this has gotten out of hand. Imma shut up now. Bye.

2p!Romano (Flavio) Headcanons

-When he was younger, before Luciano appeared, 2p!Rome spent a good deal of time tying to train him to be fit for war-and failing. Once Luciano proved the fighter of the siblings, Rome basically abandoned him, ignoring him most of the time except for when he had to use him as an ‘example’ to ensure Luciano’s training went without flaw.

-Luciano idolized his grandfather and belived that nothing Rome did was wrong. Flavio, on the other hand, knew that Rome was abusive and that what he was doing-teaching his grandchildren to be ready for war, leadership, and conquering by treating them like adult soldiers-was harmful. He, however stayed mostly silent; both from fear of Rome’s temper and fear of losing his brother’s support.

-As a result, he often sought companionship from his people. Many of the village women took him in and treated him kindly, so after a while he took a liking to admittedly feminine things; dresses, beautifully coloured fabric, gossiping about someone behind their back. He took comfort in the gentle hustle-bustle of everyday life, whereas men scared him because they reminded him of his brother and grandfather.

-Despite this, many fostering him quickly realized that he wasn’t growing much, no matter how many years passed, or how long he went without food. He soon became more of a background liability than anything else.

-As a result, when Austria and Spain came to divide Italy between the two of them, he attempted to save his people from foreign rule by trying to convince them that he was useless and that Northern Italy was much more valuable. He instantly regretted his words, and has tried to apologize to Luciano several times, but Luciano wouldn’t forgive him.

-He enjoyed himself at Spain’s house because that was the first time a nation actually cared about him, though somewhat distantly. Spain found him annoying, and would push him away when he got clingy, but, for the most part, let him get away with whatever he wanted.

-He learned how to bleach his hair while at Spain’s house. He did it because he wanted to stand out from everyone else, even though he got yelled at for it.

-Reunification with his brother went badly. When he met Luciano for the first time after Austria took him away, he was stunned by how cold and violent Luciano had become. He didn’t learn anything about what had happened there until much, much later, when he slipped in to Luciano’s room while his brother was changing and saw the whip scars on Luciano’s back.

-He’s immensely sorry for all the times he’s abandoned Luciano in the past, and keeps trying to make it up to him by being a better brother. Alas, he’s not the best at it.

-He calls Luciano 'Luci’ unless he’s being serious, and is the only person who has gotten away relatively unscathed. Luciano usually just calls him 'Romano’ while in buisness situations, and doesn’t use his human name unless he’s trying to talk about a more personal matter.

-He’s pansexual biromantic. He will (and has) sleep with anyone he knows well enough, but is only romantically attracted to Spain.

-He’s a major flirt.

-Part of the reason he’s so loud, fussy, and extravagant is because no one would pay attention to him otherwise. He realized at a young age that because no one payed attention to him, he could literally do anything he wanted, and he’s been pushing that boundry ever since.

-He’s afraid of Germans after what Austria did to Luciano (Austria has since changed; near the end of his rule over Northern Italy, Luciano murdered him in his sleep, which to 2p! countries is essentially a reset button). Despite this, he has a weird friendship with 2p!Prussia. He is, however, still wary about 2p!Germany, as he has a lingering suspicion that Lutz may be the mysterious Holy Roman Empire that broke his brother’s heart.

-His friendship with 2p!Prussia is based off the fact that both of them are alone and invisible to the rest of the world. Though he sometimes acts scornful while in Gilen’s 'house’ (really East Germany now), Gilen can see right through his act and sometimes comforts Flavio when Luciano’s temper gets particularily horrible (like when he brings up 2p!Rome).

-He can’t draw particularily well, but give him a fine bolt of cloth and he’ll design an amazing line of clothing out of it. He loves fashion.

-Flavio is often called gay, most of the time as an insult. Usually, he just rolls with it, but he has to make sure to keep it a secret from his brother because Luciano gets pissed (he still loves his brother, even if he doesn’t realize it).

-He gets along well with women because of his love of gossip. In short, he’s a lady’s man.

-He has a mild fear of blood that Rome couldn’t quite beat out of him; he cringes at the sight of it and usually avoids touching it, much to Luciano’s distaste.

-He doesn’t like violence; his greatest weapon is his voice. Flavio is a master of persuasion.

-Despite this, he isn’t afraid to use a gun.

-He likes being in power, but doesn’t insist on it. Most of the time, he’s Luciano’s backup, something that he doesn’t entirely mind. He keeps the morale of the people up, while Luciano does the dirty work.
-He’s the more loved of the two siblings, though most consider him annoying.

-For the most part, he’s pretty cool headed. If he gets angry, though, he’s extremely dangerous. Rome’s training wasn’t entirely wasted on him; he’s just as deadly as his brother when provoked.

-He’s not too fond of pets, but has a soft spot for small, cute animals like cats and rabbits. Every once in a while, he keeps a few birds like finches or budgies for some company. He’s been known to occasionally arrive at Luciano’s doorstep with a misfit band of stray kittens behind him.

-Touch or harm his clothes in any way and he will destroy you.

-Both he and his brother have contacts in the Mafia, but find it distasteful. Flavio doesn’t like the violence or the attacks on the people he that he considers under his protection, whereas Luciano sees the different gangs as threats to his own power.

-He’s kind of a bitch to people he doesn’t know very well, but is a mom friend to those he’s close to.

-He claims he’s proud of how tall and strong Luciano is, but will subtly wear heels to give himself a height boost.

-His eyes seem to have a shifting range of colour, but the most commonly seen version is silver (reference to how he’s second-best to everything). Most of the time, they’re hidden behind his rose-tinted glasses.

-He’s one of the few 2p!countries not afraid of Luciano, despite getting stabbed a couple times when Luciano was particularily pissed.

-He’s rather emotional, despite being an expert at hiding it, and has been labeled a bit of a crybaby.

-His relationship with his first player is a bit complicated. He tends to find Lovino rather brash and irritating, and Lovino sees him as an annoying bitch, but he doesn’t hate him or take offence the same way Luciano does when he sees Feliciano. He’s more resigned to the fact that the 1p! countries are better off than their 2p! counterparts, which is what upsets Luciano the most (as he sees himself as stronger than Feliciano).

-He likes to tease his brother, and will occasionally become obsessed with memes that he finds particularily funny.

-He has a harsh, cold side that comes out in times of dire stress. No one dares to mess with him when he does that.

-His weapon of choice is poison.

-He gets along surprisingly well with Oliver (2p!England) and Allen (2p!America), much to his brother’s displeasure.

-He tries extremely hard to get people he admires to like him, but often ends up failing in the end.

-Theme songs: Pity Party, Soap (Melanie Martinez), Bubblegum Bitch (Marina and the Diamonds)

(I have a huge soft spot for Flavio. He really is a very interesting character once you get to know him)

Roman Holiday (Daryl Dixon X Reader)

Fandom: The Walking Dead

Once again, I wrote this imagine on my Wattpad account first (LisyDixon066)

Warning : I do not own any of the book reference or the song lyrics I used in this imagine and I’m aware of the fact that this song didn’t exist in 2010 but I love it and it fits with my story. ;)

Imagine comforting Daryl after he woke up from a nightmare after Merle’s death.

I’m sorry this is a shorter one.

You laid awake in your bed. Your eyes studying the dusty ceiling of your cell. It was late at night, or early in the morning, but you couldn’t sleep. You turned around in your bed, burying your face in your soft pillow to muffle your desperate scream.

It was slowly getting on your nerves. You never had insomnia before the apocalypse, your nights were always peaceful, long and restful. Now, it was another story. If by chance you could fall asleep, your night was filled with nightmares and night terrors.

After all, you had to face the reality of this new world, meaning that you had to face the death of your family and friends. You sighed and fluttered your eyes open, accepting the bitter reality: you won’t sleep tonight.

You rolled your eyes at yourself and sat up on your bed. You reached for a book you had found on a run and started reading it. They say that reading helps to calm your mind and helps you to finally sleep at some point so why not?

“Natasha Romanoff hated pierogies-but more than that, she hated lies. Lying she was fine with. Lying was a necessity, a tool of her tradecraft. It was being lied to that she hated, even if it was how she had been raised. Everything Ivan used to say was a lie. Ivan Somodorov, Ivan the Strange. She hadn’t thought about him in a long time, not until tonight. Years. And right now, as Natasha clung to the side of a rusting Ukrainian warehouse on the edge of a waterlogged industrial dock, even the moon looked like just another one of Ivan’s lies.”

Okay maybe you hadn’t just found the book on a run but were intentionally looking for it for ages. You were a big fan of the Marvel Universe (Black Widow being your favorite superhero). “Forever Red” of Margaret Stohl was one of your favorite novel inspired of the comics.

After an hour, you were still reading the thrilling story when soft cries erupted from the cell next to yours. You looked up from your book, closing it and listening closely. The cries became louder and you got up. The cell next to yours was Daryl’s, it didn’t made sense but you suddenly started to panic. What if Daryl was really in trouble?

Without hesitation, you ran from your room to his. You walked into Daryl’s cell and your eyes widen. There he was, laying on his back, tossing from side to side violently and gripping the sheets in an iron grip. Cries of pain and despair escaping his lips. You didn’t know what to do. Should you wake him up? Surely. You approached his bed and kneeled down by his side, you reached up and softly wiped the tears away from his cheeks.

“Daryl. Daryl please wake up. It’s gonna be okay. You’re fine.”

You tried to soothe him and gripped his shoulder. Suddenly, Daryl sat up and pushed you away. You looked at him carefully as his hands were shaking. He looked at you with the saddest eyes you had ever seen. It almost made you gasp. Such pain and weakness written on this strong man’s face.

The man you secretly loved.

“(Y/N)…”

Daryl spoke up, his voice breaking at the end. You reached for him once again and this time Daryl grabbed your wrist and pulled you into a bone-crushing hug. You hugged back instantly even if you were shocked out of your mind.

Daryl Dixon was hugging you! Well, he was more clinging to you for dear life.

“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”

He said as he was crying into your shoulder. You ran your hands through his hair and kissed his temple softly, rubbing his back with your other free hand.

“You have nothing to be sorry for, Darebear.”

You answered the broken man, using the nickname you had given him to try and lighten the mood.

“I do.”

He simply stated and buried his face in the crook of your neck. He pulled you into his lap, basically using you as a human sized teddy bear. You smiled lovingly at the man then kissed the top of his head. You heard him sighed against your neck, his lips softly brushing against your skin. You closed your eyes and squeezed him tighter.

“I couldn’t save him…”

Daryl said, just above a whisper.

“He’s dead because of me.”

“Don’t you dare say that. You have nothing to do with Merle’s death.”

You answered, pulling away slightly to make him look at you but Daryl kept his head low. You placed your hands on his cheeks and lifted his face up slowly, locking your eyes with his.

“Listen to me Dixon. You are not responsible. Merle chose to go alone, it was an heroic choice to make. He saved us. He gave us time to fight the Governor back. He was a good man and so are you! You are such an amazing person, Daryl. So stop blaming yourself for everything. It’s not on you. I will never ever blame you for anything, Hun.”

You finished and pecked the tip of his nose, making him chuckle deeply. You smiled at him and the man smiled back. You could still see sadness on his features but you knew it was impossible to wipe away the pain of loosing someone you cared about with words. It would take time for Daryl to be okay but you’ll be there for him, as long as he wants you to.

“Can ya sing to me?”

You heard Daryl’s sleepy voice ask. Your eyes widen and your cheeks burnt a deep shade of red.

“Hm… I… I don’t know Dare. I might wake up the other.”

“Sing just for me then. Just above a whisper. Please.”

You blushed even more, realizing how intimate singing that way would be but you agreed anyway. You would give him the moon if he asked you.

“Fine. Just lay back down and try to sleep okay? We need you awake and healthy.”

You said and Daryl laid back down on his back but this time he brought you with him. You kissed his cheek and cuddled to his side before starting your song softly.

“Do you remember the taste of my lips that night
I stole a bit of my mother’s perfume
Cause I remember when my father put his fist through
The wall that separated the dining room
And I remember the fear in your eyes
The very first time we snuck into the city pool
Late December with my heart in my chest and the clouds of my breath
Didn’t know where we were running to
But don’t look back.”

Daryl was caressing your back, up and down while you were singing. This song was one of your favorite and singing it to Daryl meant a lot to you. The fingers of your left hand were drawing random patterns on Daryl’s chest as your voice resonated into the cell, creating a little bubble of paradise for only the two of you.

“We’ll be looking for sunlight
Or the headlights
Till our wide eyes burn blind
We’ll be lacing the same shoes
That we’ve worn through
To the bottom of the line
And we know that we’re headstrong
And our heart’s gone
And the timing’s never right
But for now let’s get away
On a Roman holiday”

You remembered the first time you had seen Daryl. You were running down the street of your hometown, crying and clutching your cheek. You were 5 years old.

Your dad had once again taken his anger out on you. How could someone hurt a small child like that was a mystery to you. Even more at that young age.

You thought it was your fault. Something must have been wrong with you. You must have been dysfunctional. It must have been a flaw in you code… At least, that’s what you thought until that day when a boy older than you stopped you from being crashed by a car. The boy had saved your life and when you looked at his bruised face and into his baby blue eyes, you knew that you two were meant to be.

“Could you imagine the taste of your lips
If we never tried to kiss on the drive to Queen’s
Cause I imagine the weight of your ribs
If you lied between my hips in the backseat
I imagine the tears in your eyes
The very first night I’ll sleep without you
And when it happens I’ll be miles away
And a few months late
Didn’t know where I was running to
But I won’t look back”

The friendship you had with Daryl had always been strong. Every single time you would need him, he would be there. He was like a guardian angle. He was 10 years older than you and you always had the impression that he was looking at you as a little sister. It had pained you at first but when you reached 18 years old, Daryl’s behavior changed towards you. He would blush time to time when he would look at you or when you asked his advice on your dress or your hair. He would love to cuddle in the bed of his truck while stargazing with you during a warm summer night. You were desperately in love with the man but you had always been scared of telling him. In a way, you loved him too much to take the risk.

“We’ll be looking for sunlight
Or the headlights
Till our wide eyes burn blind
We’ll be lacing the same shoes
That we’ve worn through
To the bottom of the line
And we know that we’re headstrong
And our heart’s gone
And the timing’s never right
But for now let’s get away
On a Roman holiday”

The first time you had the opportunity to run away with Daryl, was two years ago. You had gone on holiday with him but not so far away as it was simply camping in the woods with him and his brother. You had had the time of your life, spending every single second of this week off with the man of your dreams. You had ran away from your problems and your home. You had ran away to live in a dream for an entire week.

Feet first, don’t fall
We’ll be running again
Keep close, stand tall

We’ll be looking for sunlight
Or the headlights
Till our wide eyes burn blind
We’ll be lacing the same shoes
That we’ve worn through
To the bottom of the line
And we know that we’re headstrong
And our heart’s gone
And the timing’s never right
But for now let’s get away
On a Roman holiday"

You finished your song softly kissing Daryl’s neck. He was now fast asleep so you cuddled more comfortably to his side and gathered your courage to say the four words you had always wanted to tell him. This man was your best friend, your confident, your love and your home. He had always been.

“I love you Daryl.”

You whispered before closing your eyes and slowly drifting to sleep but before you blacked out into a deep and peaceful dreamless sleep, you heard the gruff voice of your best friend whisper in your ears.

“I love ya too baby girl. I always have.”

Reconciliation Chapter 6

Alright guys, Here’s the next chapter!!!!!! Happy reading!!!!!! Hope you like it. No details given this time just read!

“Now now, don’t get upset baby, I just came here to talk”

“You’re done talking to me, leave!”

“Derek, come on”

“No don’t Derek come on me, you do this all the time. Pretending you want to see what’s going on with me when all you really want is for me to write you a check” Derek exclaimed.

Mary stayed quiet. It was no secret that she had her fair share of tricks she played on her son and she couldn’t deny it. Her moves were very transparent and Derek was no fool when it came to her games. Today was no different than the rest.

“I know but this investment I’m about to tell you about would be good for the both of us. I have these business men who want to meet you so we can discuss you showcasing their cologne line and with” Derek interrupted her.

“Business men?” He scoffed.

“You mean parasites in cheap suits. Look I’m not about to do this with you. I don’t want to hear any of this, you need to leave, just go”

“Baby who’s at the…door” Ahsha came running towards her man.

“Well I can see you still didn’t take out the trash son” Mary spat.

“Excuse me!”

“I think you heard me little girl”

“There’s nothing little about me Ms. Roman, who the hell do you think you are?” Ahsha spat back.

Derek sat there watching the two ladies go at each other, his head hanging low and his hands deep in his sweatpants.

“Everyone just calm down okay, Ahsha please go back in the house, I got this” Derek pleaded.

“No Derek I’m not just going to sit here and let her talk to me like that. After everything she’s put us you through, us through and she has the nerve to speak to me like that? No! Derek it’s not right!”

“Baby it’s okay, just relax, I know what she wants. I’ll take care of it, just go inside” Derek replied.

“Yeah what I want is for you to get rid of this bitch!” Mary yelled.

“Mom, stop! Don’t call her that!” Derek said angrily. Ahsha folded her arms across her chest.

“No, no baby let her finish. I want to hear this. Go ahead Ms. Roman, keep it coming” Ahsha challenging her.

“I have no more to say about you except you’re just another groupie trying to hang on to my son and his fortune. We both know the minute he does something out of character, you’ll be gone in a flash. You, sweetie, are using him…” Mary professed.

Normally, Ahsha stayed in her lane, keeping her cool and tried her best to respect Derek’s mother in spite of their very complicated relationship. But she was insulting her intelligence. This was the last straw, Ahsha was no weak bitch and she wasn’t going to let Mary get away with trying to belittle her like that. She ain’t going for it. Mary Roman needs to be knocked off her high horse for once in her life and Ahsha was going to hit her where it hurt…by speaking the truth. She pushed Derek out of the way to inch closer to his mother, now in front of her, face to face.

“Let me explain something to you Ms. Roman, you don’t know me at all and after this conversation you probably never will get that chance but I don’t care. Hear me and hear me good, that is your son…and I love him. He is the love of my life okay, let’s make that clear. I’m in love with him, that’s right I said it. I’m in love with Derek Roman and I’m not ashamed of that, just so you know. He is a wonderful, hardworking man and I don’t give a damn about who he used to be, I only care about the man he is today, with me. He became that man without you. You, sweetie…, mocking her, are the definition of a woman who only claims something when it’s beneficial and then abandons it.

To you, this isn’t your son, he’s your personal little bank and I know this to be true because I was there when he cried himself to sleep on my chest, hoping and praying that his mother will finally love him the way she should…but we both know you’ll never change. & with every tear I wiped away, I let him know that he could accomplish anything he puts his mind to. I believe that, I really do and I would rather spend the rest of my days making sure he knows that then allow people like you to take advantage of him. He doesn’t deserve that and you don’t deserve him. Whether you like it or not, I’m here to stay, I’m not going anywhere. & as long as your son wants me here, I will be here. Learn to live with that, got it” She confessed.

The mother remained speechless, no woman has ever been able to stand up to her the way Ahsha just did. With that, Ahsha lightly squeezed Derek’s shoulder before walking back into the house.

“You’re really not going to say anything?”

“What is there to say?” He replied.

“She just totally disrespected me, aren’t you going to do something about that?”

“She didn’t disrespect you, she was just telling you the truth”

“The truth, I’ll tell you what the truth is…” Derek raised his hand up in defense, lightly touching his mom’s shoulder.

“The truth is mom, I love you but you don’t love me and it’s time I let go of that. I have Ahsha and that’s all I need to get by. I appreciate the visit but it’s time for you to go now”

“Goodbye…Mary” Derek spoke before slowly shutting the door in his mother’s face. Feeling a sense of relief, he walked back into the kitchen where Ahsha stood, nervously shaking. He made no movement towards her. She made eye-contact with him as she lifted her head up.

“Baby I am so sorry! I don’t know what I was thinking talking to your mother like that. I’m not apologizing for saying it but I am sorry for the way it came out. I was just tired of her coming around, treating you like that, I uh…lost control. Please don’t be angry with me” She explained. Derek met her gaze and chuckled. He smiled up at her as she stared questioning his amusement.

“Why are you laughing? You’re supposed to be angry with me” Putting a hand on her hip. He walked over, placing his arms around her frame before lifting her chin to crush his lips onto hers.

He kissed her slow, long and sweetly. She wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him back. Once more, his lips lingered on hers before parting. He gazed into her beautiful brown eyes as he spoke “How could I be mad at you after how you stood up for me” She searched his eyes anticipating his next word.

“I had to let her know what I’ve always known”

“That you’re in love with me and you’re not ashamed of it” He said reciting her words earlier, teasing her.

“Shut up!” She shouted playfully pushing him. He became serious again.

“Hearing you say those words, to my mother, letting the world know how much you love me, made me fall in love with you all over again, the way I did the day you ran into me at the Arena” Tears welled up in her eyes hearing her man speak with such conviction.  It touched a special place in her heart, where she knew he would remain. She smiled down at him. He pulled her closer.

“Thank you, for changing my life, Ahsha Hayes”

“Thank you for being worth it, and changing mines” She answered pecking his cheek. The moment was so sweet and genuine and he used that to his advantage. He kissed her hand, then slowly got down on one knee.

“Derek…what…what are you doing” Ahsha breathed trying not to hyperventilate.

“Ahsha it’s not what you think…yet. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, us building together and when that day comes, I’ll be back here again. But until then, I just want to spend our days together, building each other up, being here for you for whatever you need. Being able to tell you how beautiful your smile is and how I never want to live without seeing it ever again. I want us to get better as a team. I love you Ahsha Hayes with everything I have in me, I just want you to allow me to prove it to you. So I’m down on my knees to tell you…I’m sorry for all the pain I’ve caused you” Tears streaming down his face.

“Will you let me spend our days together healing that pain, hurt, and will you forgive me for falling short of your love?” She cried uncontrollably, looking down at the man of her dreams, who never seems to amaze her with the things he’s capable of.

“Yes Derek Roman, of course I will. I do forgive you” He kissed her hand as she helped him back up.

“You love me?” Derek nervously questioned. She smiled up at him.

“More than you know” She answered, sealing it with a kiss. They embraced each other once more, basking in this intimate moment.

2 Years Later

After the six-month break-up, followed by an emotional reconciliation after, Derek and Ahsha stayed inseparable. They decided to work on their communication as well as putting trust into what they have in their relationship. If she wasn’t at his place, he was at hers, cooking, watching movies, and they even started this ritual “Date Night”. 2 years in and the ritual remained strong in their relationship. Tonight seemed like any other one of their date nights with only one exception: Derek had an important question for Ahsha. A question he’s been thinking about for months now but just hasn’t had the time to think it through. Now he has thought about it fully and now he’s ready to share.

“Ahsha Hayes if you don’t hurry up out that bathroom”

“I know, I know babe I’m sorry I’m almost ready!”

“You’ve changed your outfit like five times, you should be” Derek chuckled.

“Quit your complaining, don’t you want your woman to look good?”

“You always look good to me, even better when you’re naked” He teased.

“Ohh naughty, naughty man you’d love that wouldn’t you?” She said while making her way down the staircase. Derek stood in awe, admiring his girl from head to toe. She had her sex appeal at an all-time high with her black cocktail dress that complimented her curves, along with the gold necklace she wore with her name engraved in the middle, an anniversary present from Derek last year. Her hair was flat ironed straight with some bangs to add a small touch, and her red Louboutin’s showing off her pedicured feet, with red polish on them and red hoops. She reached the end and Derek reached for her hand.

“You look beautiful” He crooned.

“Thank you sir, you don’t look so bad yourself” She giggled. Derek dressed like how Ahsha would imagine in her dreams every night. He wore a black Armani suit with his gold watch on his wrist, a birthday gift from Ahsha last year as well. His face was perfectly shaved, matching his haircut with his white and black J’s.

“Shut up girl and give me some sugar” He responded while swooping her up in his arms. She squealed as she placed a quick peck on his lips, her hands surrounding his face. She nuzzled his nose before he placed her on her feet.

“Woman we better get going to our dinner before you start something you can’t finish”

“Don’t underestimate me Mr. Roman, you know what I’m capable of” Giving him a sly smirk.

“Just like you know what I’m capable of. That’s why we need to go now before I end up fucking you right here on this staircase” Hearing her man speak to her so explicitly made her so wet.

“Promise Mr. Roman?” She said playfully.

“Don’t play with me woman, let’s go now” He commanded. She pouted turning towards the door. He lightly slapped her plump bottom, following her out the door. She gave him a smirk as she confidently strutted swaying her hips, making sure he got a good look at her backside.

They arrived at the restaurant in his black Ferrari, in style as always. Ahsha loved when they took the Ferrari because it made her feel like a dangerous woman, compliments of her man. Derek got out and opened Ahsha’s door, arriving at her side. He placed his arm firmly around her waist as they entered the restaurant.

“Hello Mr. Roman, we’ve been expecting you, right this way” The waiter spoke.

The waiter took them all the way to the back of the restaurant in a secluded area, where nobody could disturb them. Before they were able to sit, Derek placed a blindfold over Ahsha’s eyes.

“Derek what are you doing? Why am I blindfolded?”

“Be patient baby”

“For what” She pouted.

“It wouldn’t be a surprise if I told you right?”

“No I guess not” She sighed.

“Just give me a second woman damn, with your impatient ass” He laughed.

He walked away from her making sure everything looked the way he wanted it to. After going around the room one more time, he went back to her and removed the blindfold. Ahsha blinked her eyes a little before taking it all in. The setup had rose petals everywhere with candles lit all around the room. To the side, you could see artist Trey Songz playing the piano. She walked around, in shock and in complete awe.

“Oh my God, Derek this is beautiful”

“So you like it?”

“Like it? It’s absolutely perfect, I love it” She crooned while intertwining her fingers with his.

“I told you I wanted to spend my days with you, healing the pain and hurt I’ve caused, showing you how much I love you. I’m just holding my end of the bargain”

“I think you’re off to a great start” She replied placing her arms around his neck. He placed his arms around her waist, a memory appearing in his mind.

“Do you remember our first dance?”

“The look, how could I forget? It was the time where you really wanted to push my buttons”

“And your boyfriend’s…at the time of course” He teased.

“I surely remember telling you to keep your hands above and on my waist. Any…” He interrupted,

“Lower and I’ll knee you in the nuts”

“Smart man” She laughed.

“Obviously not smart enough because I went lower than that” They both laughed.

“I don’t mind now”

“I’ll take that as my second chance then” He twirled her around and asked, “Dance with me, Ms. Hayes” She answered by placing her hand in his. He pulled her closer, closing the gap between them. She placed her other arm on his shoulder with his arms surrounding her waist. They moved together around the room in sync, slowly as the ballad of “One Love” played on the piano, serenading the room. Derek moved closer, his face inches away from hers. She leaned in, and softly kissed his lips, her forehead touching his.

“You know how much I love you?” He whispered between her lips.

“Yes” She giggled.

“How much?”

“Hmmmm…a lot, lot. Hehe, it runs deeper than the ocean and sea” She responded.

“Look at you quoting our favorite R&B group”

“I mean we listen to it every chance we get, it’s only right I know the lyrics”

“Hey what can I say? 90’s was my era as a child”

“Me too, guess that makes us…”

“One in the same” He finished her sentence. She beamed down at him.

They continued dancing, him twirling her around two more times to pull her in again. They remained close, body to body, skin to skin. She placed her head on his shoulder as he began singing the lyrics to the song in her ear

Here I am, I’m your man

Give you everything you needed, you and me undefeated, till the end

One mind, one heart, one love

Take my hand, we will stand

Let’s say it together for the rest of time

One mind, one heart, one love

You are all I need and I’ll never let go

She smiled and giggled under his touch, feeling like a happy school girl. She raised her head up, meeting his gaze. His eyes pierced her soul as he grabbed her chin.

“I could hold you like this forever”

“Yes me and a whole bunch of other women” She teased.

“Now what have I told you about that, there’s only one woman in my life I want to hold forever”

“You’re talking about me right?” She pointed to herself.

“What do you think?” He said before dipping her down slowly, bringing her back up to meet his gaze.

“I think you just gave me my answer” She giggled.

“It’s been two years you should know this by now”

“Oh, I do, I just love messing with your head a little” She laughed.

“I know you do, consider it a privilege because no other woman would get away with that. Seriously though, Ahsha, I meant every word I said. I want you in my arms like this for a lifetime”

“Well I’m going to hold you to that”

“I have no doubt you will, and I plan on it…for the rest of our lives”

Ahsha looked up at him, searching his eyes for some clarity.

“What did you just say?”

“The rest of our lives, at least I hope” He responded while getting down on knee.

“Derek…whaa?” She couldn’t get the words out, completely speechless.

“I’m doing what I said I would do 2 years ago. I told you the day I’m ready to be down here, on my knees would be the day I can say that I want to spend the rest of my life with you, building a life together. That day is today” Ahsha’s eyes filled with tears of joy and emotion.

“My whole life baby I’ve been surrounded around people who wanted something from me. & I gave it, because I wanted them to stay. But you… trying to clear this throat, you never wanted anything from me, but me. I told you I’d either be the best mistake you’ll make or I’d change your life. It turns out, you’ve changed mine, in more ways than one. I know this journey hasn’t been easy for you but I’m grateful for your presence because it helped me grow.

You are the reason why I look forward to another day, your smile motivates me to keep going and your support keeps me from giving up. You’re the light in my life that I needed to see where I went wrong and when all I had around me was darkness. You’re the first for me in many things…my first love, girlfriend, elevators ha-ha, and the first person to show me what real love looks like. Because of you, I am a better man. Ahsha, I lost you once and I’m not taking that chance again. It doesn’t matter where I am in life, as long as I have you baby, I’ll always feel complete” He professed pulling a small black box out of his pocket.

Opening the box, you see a ten carat solitaire diamond ring with an A & D in cursive engraved around it. Ahsha looked down at the ring, putting her hands over her mouth, containing her urge to scream. Tears fell from her eyes as he grabbed her hand.

“Ahsha Hayes, the love of my life, baby will you do me the honor of becoming my wife. Will you marry me?” He asked.

“Yes, Derek Roman, I will marry you” She responded.

“You will?!” He looked up in shock.

“YES! Yes baby of course I will!” She screamed. He slid the ring on her finger, kissing her hand. He rose up to cup her face in his and kissed her passionate and slow. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders kissing him back. He used his tongue to part her mouth, deepening the kiss. Their lips devoured each other’s as they embraced each other tightly. Breaking the kiss, she gazed into his eyes deeply, placing her palm on his cheek, massaging it.

“I love you…Derek Roman”

“I love you too, Ahsha Hayes”

“Hayes…but not for long”

“In a few months, you’ll be Mrs. Roman”

“I’ll be waiting” She crooned, pecking his lips. The pair danced the night away as the promise of a future together became their reality.

So About God's Punishment and Wrath: A Mega-Post On Theology That Bothers Us

abbybethh asked:

Hello, do you have any posts/ thoughts on God’s punishment? It’s been a topic I’ve been really confused on. Thank you for all that you do & congratulations on your engagement!!

Hey dear friend, thank you so much for your kind words.  I want to kindly share with you three different angles on God’s punishment to consider.  As always, please feel free to skip around on this post.

1) God’s punishment is His burning anger and wrath set against our sin and it’s often correlated to each act of disobedience.

2) God’s punishment is actually His grieving heart for our active disconnection from Him, so He allows us to have what we want and for the consequences to unroll.

3) God’s punishment is an outdated term from the Bible that has been misinterpreted, and is simply language that describes the continuing effects of sin in our world.

So we could say God’s punishment is 1) God’s wrath, 2) our consequences, or 3) the effects of sin.

For the most part, Christians have put these views in a boxing ring to duke it out.  Augustinian and Calvinist theology would say it’s all God’s wrath.  Emergent or mystical theology would call it natural consequences.  The New Perspective on Paul might call it the effects of sin.  [You don’t have to know any of that stuff, by the way, to love Jesus.]  Westerners don’t like “wrath” and Easterners would say that of course God is vengeful.

I tend to think it’s a combination of all three views, but I also confess that I’m too limited in my imagination.  We’re each hamstrung by our own cultural ideas about God, and we need to admit our weakness before beginning to grasp Him.  We must occasionally dare to have God confront us and contradict us with the uncomfortable, especially with the stuff we don’t find pleasant about Him.

We need to be careful about our own preconceived biases.

The thing is, most Westerners hate the idea that God could punish anyone.  Even the idea of “guilt” is too much.  Most of us have been Pavlovian-conditioned by the Enlightenment to consider God as either a grandfather or a clockmaker, so we’re offended by things like the cross and we enjoy images of haloed sheep-holding Jesus.

But in the East, the idea of an anthropomorphic loving God is absolutely horrifying and insulting.  That God could “forgive” and be “personal” is to put God at the level of a pigeon.  And ideas like “wrath” and “vengeance” already make sense in an honor-and-shame culture.

So it depends on who you’re talking to. Simply distilling theological thoughts about God into tiny culturalized categories can hardly explain God to a tiny 3 lb. human brain.

The God of the Bible is constantly referred to as merciful, gracious, and compassionate.  He’s called a Shepherd, King, and Friend, with open arms and real emotions.  Yet there’s also the winepress of wrath and Jesus coming back on a war-horse with a sword in his mouth and his head on fire.  The real God is going to press against your own culture, which means no one has completely monopolized God with their own limited theology.  God will offend some part of your culture somewhere, no matter what.

So do I believe God can straight-up punish people?  As an Easterner, yes.  I grew up in a home where my father and the elders had absolute authority; they had free rein to raise me as they wished.  I can believe in a God who does whatever He wants without obligation to my will.

But growing up in a Western culture, I also believe that God, if He does punish us, does so because He loves us.  God is bound to His own love, and God, being the Perfect Father, sometimes must use what He hates to achieve what He loves. He does this with zero sin, unlike our earthly parents.  For me, this is so much harder to believe: but when I do, it’s liberating.  My fear of authority is changed to something utterly new and transformative.  Maybe for the Westerner, to believe that God actually punishes evil in this world will liberate us too.

Let’s dig deeper.  When we think of “punishment” we think of introducing something negative or taking away something positive.  Yet when God made the world, He made it absolutely good.  There was no sin, no imperfection, no lacking.  When Adam and Eve went against God, they completely disarrayed the universe, like kicking over dominoes, resulting in disconnection and death.

When we say “God’s Wrath,” I don’t see it as some kind of divine spanking.  In fact, it’s death and disease and lacking and tragedies which are the unnatural.  We were never meant to be disconnected from Him.  To have life and joy and unity is the natural. The act of body tissue healing itself is natural; the cut is unnatural.  God’s rescue and resurrection of His people is the natural; it’s sin and wrath and consequences that are the derivative.  This is why when Jesus does miracles, he’s only showing how things are meant to be: unlimited food, healed bodies, victory over evil spirits, no abrupt weather, flowing wine, and no death.

So then, God’s Wrath is actually a sped-up continuance of what would happen when sin completely corrupts.  In the Old Testament especially, God often closes the loop between sin and consequences immediately.  He is releasing the sustaining of His power by allowing entropy to win, so we might wake up to life.  And each time, God takes absolutely no joy in doing this.  God takes no joy in wrath; He only hopes it will work when nothing else will.

In a sense, God allows the natural to unravel sometimes, because this is what we have chosen.  And instead of regretting your life forty years too late, God’s Wrath is making the regret happen now.  This is why Romans chapters 1-3 constantly talk about God’s Wrath as His mercy, that by allowing our vices to hurt, we might see how dumb they are and then find Him.  Even more, 1 Corinthians 5:5 says that as a last resort, we allow an unrepentant Christian to do what they want, so they might hit rock bottom and realize the world has nothing for them like God does.

I don’t believe that this is a one-to-one correlation.  In other words, if a bird poops on you during your morning jog, this is NOT God punishing you for skipping prayer yesterday.  It was just a pooping bird (with very good aim).  While we certainly regret our bad choices, God doesn’t connect this regret with random things.

In the end, the universal truth is that we live in a condition called sin that keeps us separated from God.  Some force has to remove this obstacle at the cosmic level so that we might be reconciled to our source of glory again.

Here’s the amazing thing.  God sent His very own Son to absorb all that we would ever face by being cut off from Him.  Jesus took on sin, wrath, consequences, justice, and tragedy; he who knew no sin became sin for us, that we might become the righteousness in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21).  Jesus stood in the way of the unnatural so we might have the natural once more.  He suffered in solidarity with us, he closed the loop of disobedience and consequences in himself.  It’s as if an architect built a prison for our crimes, and then said, “I will serve your sentence in the prison I built for your penalty."  Jesus removed every cosmic obstacle between us and God at the cross and resurrection.

I hope we can re-think our categories of sin and wrath and punishment to realize that our human terms are much too thick for them.  Our theology is too dense for such nuanced heavenly things.  I can say with confidence though that all that God does is for our ultimate, eternal good, and that He never acts haphazardly.  The bottom line is that He loves us, and He proved it in the cross and rising up from death, that we might live with Him forever.

7 SIGNS THAT WE ARE LIVING IN THE END DAYS....

Today I watched Don Stewart give his 2014 Prophecy update and I took notes and I wanted to share this with all of you.

   1.  THE RETURN OF ISRAEL TO THEIR HOME LAND:

  • This happened on May 15, 1948 when Israel became a nation.  It was totally complete in 1967 during the 6 day war when they took Jerusalem back.

2.  PREPARATIONS TO BUILD A THIRD TEMPLE:

  • We know that there will be a third temple because the Bible tells us so.  It tells us in Matthew 24:15, Daniel 9:27, and Revelation 13:14. The Bible tells us that after the Abomination of desolation those who are alive and remain during the tribulation should be watchful and recognize that this event is the beginning of 3 ½ years of the worst of the tribulation period and that the return of the Lord Jesus in the Second Coming is imminent. Today they have the blueprints made for the third temple and they say that they can have this Third Temple up and performing sacrifices in 8 months. They also have all of the implements that they need to run the temple.

3.  THE LINE UP OF THE NATIONS IN EZEKIEL 38 AND 39:

  • THE LIST OF NATIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
  • PERSIA – (IRAN)   ROSH – (RUSSIA)
  • MAGOG – SOUTH SOVIET UNION
  • PUT – (LIBYA) CUSH – (SUDAN)
  • GOMER/BETH TOGARMA – (TURKEY)

These nations will have a military coalition.  This coalition will want to bring forth the destruction of Israel and its people.  All of the nations listed want the annihilation of Israel and its people the Jews right now.

4. WHAT IS MISSING IN EZEKIEL 38 AND 39?  MISSING ARE THE       NATIONS THAT BORDER ISRAEL.  WHO ARE THESE NATIONS?

  •  Syria – They are not a threat because they are in the middle of a  civil war.
  •  Egypt – they also had a civil war and there is much unrest.
  •  Lebanon – Civil unrest and terrorism.
  •  Jordan – A peaceful nation with a small military and strong ties o  western nations.

There are some nations mentioned in Ezekiel that are not a part of the invading force, that protest what is going on.  These nations are:

Sheba – (Saudi Arabia) and Dedan – Gulf States.  They, like Israel fear Iran them getting a nuclear bomb and using it on Israel and continuing south to Saudi Arabia.  If you are thinking that they should be allies with Iran because they are both Muslims think again.  The Saudis are Sunni Muslims and Iranians are Shia Muslims.  The Sunni’s do not believe that the Shia are proper Muslims and they have been known to fight and even kill each other over their differences.

5. THERE IS NO SUPER POWER TO STEP IN AND HELP ISRAEL.

  • The United States has all but turned its back on Israel.  We are a country who is downsizing its military and is not interested in fighting in a war. NO BOOTS ON THE
  • GROUND.  We are seeing this happen right before our eyes.  The prestige that the United States once had is dwindling and we are no longer considered a superpower by the nations of the world. I couldn’t help but remember what the Bible says about people who bless Israel.

And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.“  Genesis 12:3

6.  THERE IS NO GENUINE WORLD LEADER.

  • Everyone will be looking for a leader and this will be the opening for a man to come on the scene and take charge.  This will be the Antichrist.  He will be a political leader and a Gentile coming out of the old Roman Empire.  This man will seem to have all of the answers that people are seeking.  The Bible says that he will a mouth speaking great things.  He will make everyone trust him and he will rule the world.

7.  THE ABILITY OF THE ANTI-CHRIST THE MAN OF SIN TO UNITE THE WHOLE  WORLD.

  • Today our technology has gotten so sophisticated that the Anti-Christ would be able to monitor everyone in the world.  He will force everyone to take his mark 666, his name, mark or number on their right hand or forehead and worship him. If they do not have this mark they will not be able to buy or sell anything.  I think that the technology that he will have will be amazing and what we are using in our world today is a pre-cursor to what they will use during the Tribulation.  This could have never happened even 25 years ago.  Here is a Scripture that I love:

FOR THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL, WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR, AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES, OTHERWISE THEY WOULD SEE WITH THEIR EYES, HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN, AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.’ 16"But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear. 17"For truly I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it. Matthew 13:15-17

God created us in His own image so we can know Him personally and have a joy-filled life. He did not make us as robots to automatically love and obey Him, but gave us a will and a freedom of choice. Since the beginning of time, we have chosen to disobey God and go our own willful way. We still make this choice today. This results in separation from God and ends in misery. The Bible says that disobeying God results in being separated from Him.  Our attempts can never unite us with God. Through the ages, people have tried many ways to bridge this gap and reach God – without success.  I believe that each one of us has a little puzzle piece in each of our bodies that only the love of God can fill.  We try to fill it with all kinds of things like sex, boyfriends, children, drugs, alcohol, education, clubbing, partying and everything else that you can think of.  The thing is nothing fits right in there.  Only God can quench the longing of your soul.

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second into their mother’s womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. John 3:3-6

If you want a new life in Christ Jesus, ask Him into your heart today. Simply pray this: Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that You took the pain and the sins of world on the cross to give me new life. I ask You to come into my heart and to give me Your peace and joy. I confess that I am a sinner that I have gone my own way and have done wrong. Please forgive me for my sins. I receive You now as my Lord and Savior. Today I come home. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow You and to serve You all the days of my life. Thank you so much for loving me and forgiving me, in Jesus name I pray, Amen. If you prayed that prayer you are a new creature in Christ Jesus! You are Born Again!  I urge you to start reading the Bible in the Gospel of John and get into a really good Bible based church.  If you need help finding one I will be happy to help you.  God bless you!!!  Maranatha!!!

#105: You Meet Through One Direction

Ashton: Growing up, Harry Styles had been one of your closest friends. Of course, you two had gone to the same primary school, never really interacting. But it wasn’t until year eight did you two really become close friends. It was a matter of working on a group project together. Throughout your friendship, there were no romanic feelings, and you had both expressed you didn’t see either of each other in that kind of way. Little did you know, one of your closest friends would grow up to be one of the main singers of the acclaimed One Direction, or be one of the heartthrobs that millions of teenage girls nearly fainted over. You would take the piss out of Harry, and you had the ability to bring him back to reality when fame got to his head. Through everything, you two remained just as close. The fans respected you, acknowledging that there was never anything, nor was there every going to be anything, between the two of you. You were there through the X-Factor days, the awkward mop of curly hair faze, and you were even there during their stadium tour. You were Harry’s rock really, his small notion of home that he could call at anytime, regardless of time differences, or distance. You were incredibly grateful to have Harry in your life, and you always knew that he was just a Skype call away. Of course, it became difficult when you two were leagues apart and you felt the distance. Not having your best friend around was difficult, but you made it work. You had grown close to all of the band members, just because they were so close to Harry. They treated you like a little sister, and you adored the boys with all of your heart. Even the band that they had signed to be their opener, 5 Seconds of Summer, was amazing. The lads were truly something else, and you grew just as fond of them, as you did the members of One Direction. But there was one member in particular that you had a different form of chemistry with. You felt a tension between you and Ashton. It wasn’t hostile, nor was it aggressive. There was a budding passion building between the two of you. Something that was amounting to more than friendship. You were skeptical about it, because you didn’t know how Harry would react, nor the rest of the band members of both bands. You had the opportunity to see Harry on tour, and that was how you were introduced to Ashton. You were taken aback by his classic Australian looks, but more so by his ability to woo you with his joyful laughter, and his easy going personality. When you met him, you heard his laugh before you saw him. Even that intrigued you. When Harry had introduced the two of you, you could feel a warm blush spread across your cheeks, and a dopey grin plastered over your face. “Hello,” His warm voice had said, when Harry told you who it was. “Hi,” You nervously said. “C’mon, I want to show you are the stadium,” Harry said grabbing your waist and tugging you along. You awkwardly waved at Ashton, as his eyes were trained on Harry’s hand around your waist. It wasn’t until nights later did he finally ask you the question that had been burning his thoughts. “Are you and Harry a thing?” He asked casually one day. Louis and Niall overheard, and began to snicker to themselves. Ashton turned towards them looking at the quizzically, which spurred their laughter on further. “(Y/N) and Harry a thing? What a sight!” Niall said, still laughing. You shook your head, fighting a smile. “No we aren’t, we grew up together. He’s my best friend, it would be bloody weird if I was his bird.” You said, shaking your head. “Really?” Ashton asked. “Yeah, why?” You said. “Well, he’s just so touchy with you and is always staring at you.” You laughed. “Its a Harry thing. He’s always been like that with me. Believe me, we’re nothing.” You said, almost too encouragingly. Ashton was silent for a bit, and you could hear Louis and Niall talking behind you. From that moment on, the tension between you and Ashton was almost tangible. By clearing up any notion that you and Harry had something, Ashton grew more confident in his flirting. He was far more touchy, his remarks were often laced with an innuendo, or some sly comment. He was smooth in his compliments, and playful in his banter. You weren’t the only one that noticed the tension between the two of you, because the rest of the band members did. When Ashton came up directly behind you, pressing his body flush against yours to grab something from around you, Niall looked at you quizzically which only increased the harsh blush spreading across your cheeks. Ashton merely laughed, walking away with a cheeky smile plastered on his face. Finally, it was one night you were talking to Lou, the hairdresser for the boys did Ashton, come up to you, grab your hand, interrupting the conversation you were having and pushed you against a wall. Within seconds his lips were on yours, his hands either side of your head, his body flush against yours. You gasped into the kiss, unexpectedly intertwining your fingers in his shaggy hair, pulling him even closer. When you broke apart, you two were breathless, expect for one word drifting between the two of you. “Finally,” He whispered, his lips ghosting over yours.

Calum: You were One Directions stylist. Your job was to make sure that the lads looked on point at all times. Whether that be their clothing, or the way their hair was styled, it was your job to make sure that when they faced the hoards of screaming fans on tour, that they looked drop dead hot. Each boy had their own particular style that you had to work with, and you had developed a close relationship with each member. You toured relentlessly with them, practically lived together, and experienced all the ups and downs of tour life with them. You were around the same age as the band, which was something that took a bit of getting used to. You felt uncomfortable telling men that were close to your age how to dress and how to look, but eventually it became easier. When 5 Seconds of Summer was signed to be their opening band for touring, you were interested to see what kind of style they had. You had heard they were pretty punk, and in no way were you ready for the always changing hair of Michael, Ashton who wore his clothing so much that he developed holes in the material, who as a result refused to throw out the pieces. There was Luke who happened to hit a growth spurt, making his wardrobe shrink. And then there was Calum, who was punk rock and developing a love for tattoos just as One Direction had. He was devilishly handsome, and always made your heart race. You were not requested to be their stylist, but because the two bands were so close, and basically lived together on the road, you were with 5 Seconds of Summer all the time, which meant being with Calum all the time. You were flipping through a fashion magazine when Calum sat down next to you, his thigh touching yours. “Whatcha reading cutie?” He asked, playfully. You were taken aback by the reference to being a ‘cutie’ but you looked up from your spot in the article. “Just a fashion mag, what are you up to?” You asked, not daring to call him anything endearing. “Bored,” He said, sighing. “Everybody is too busy, or just doesn’t want to do anything.” He said simply. “So you’ve come to me?” You asked, raising your eyebrow. “Well, you strike me as the type of girl that seems subdued but really, knows how to have a good time.” He said, smiling. You laughed, shaking your head. “You’ll never know.” You said teasingly. “Show me.” He said, nudging you with his elbow. “By doing what?” You asked, confused at how to show him. “I don’t know, be spontaneous.” He said. You sighed, dog earring the magazine and placing it beside you. “I really don’t know.” You said. “Well, lets do something. I don’t want to sit around all day.” He whined playfully. You laughed, looking out the window to see a vibrant and clear day. “Want to just go sightseeing?” You asked. “Yes.” He said quickly. “Eager?” You teased, and he only stuck his tongue out at you, getting up and going to grab his jacket. You slipped on a pair of heels, and grabbed your jacket, meeting Calum before telling one of the boys where you were off to. They smiled suggestively at you, but you shook your head and rolled your eyes. You two ventured out, grabbing a quick up of coffee to keep you warm in the cooler air, before letting your feet take you wherever they led you. “You know, I never understood how girls just casually walked in heels.” Calum said, staring at your feet. “I’ve done it for years.” You said, sipping your coffee. “Like you look great, like really good. I’ve just never understood heels. But I’m a dude, so.” He said. You smiled at his compliment, before looking at the ground. “Did I mention you look good? Because if I didn’t you look amazing today.” He said, making you laugh. “You did,” You said, laughing along. “Well i just wanted to make sure,” He said bumping your arm. “If I didn’t know better, I’d say you fancy me.” You said daringly. Calum scoffed, but the pink pigment to his cheeks said otherwise. “Thats an awfully bold statement, and how do you know?” He asked. “Who even asks that?” He said laughing. “You said be spontaneous.” You said, and he laughed harder. “Throwing my words back at me, eh? Well you’ll never know.” He said. You rolled your eyes, but you quickly were shocked when Calum grabbed your free hand and intertwined his fingers with yours. Wordlessly, he smiled at you, and continued to walk, as if nothing had happened.

Luke: If it wasn’t for Niall, you and Luke would have never met. “I’d like to give a toast,” Niall said, standing up and hitting his champagne glass gently with the end of the fork. The room quieted down, and you looked up to see Niall standing and facing you and Luke. “I would just like to start off with saying, congratulations to the beautiful couple! Give it up for Mr. and Mrs. Hemmings!” He said, clapping. You smiled, still not used to all the attention on you. When the clapping died down, Niall cleared his throat. “I was initially jealous when (Y/N) and Luke began to date, I’ll admit. When (Y/N) met Luke through me, I always had a soft spot for her. But stepping back and watching their love blossom through the years has been something to behold. You watch romance in the cinema or you hear about it, but never can you really see it before your eyes. But I’m lucky enough to see something spectacular grow. I didn’t know that the day I introduced the two of them, that they would click this well. And look at us now, its been close to seven years, and I’ve watched two people fall helplessly in love. (Y/N) has always been beautiful. Watching her fall in love has made her more radiant and more happy than I’ve ever seen. I’d like to thank you Luke, for giving her that. For putting the biggest smile on her face that anybody could imagine. And (Y/N), you’ve made Luke smile more than anybody I’ve ever seen. And that’s saying something, because the kid is rarely not smiling. What I’m getting at, is that you two are good for each other. Better than good, you two are meant to be together. I believe that there are people out there, that are destined to come together. Whether its some cosmic force thats driving the two together, or some form of fate, I believe that eventually the two people will meet. And I think here, is a perfect example of that. So, here is to a beautiful couple, that is so in love, and will continue to be in love. Cheers to the newly weds!” Niall finished, raising his glass and toasting to you. The room erupted into a cheer, and you sipped your champagne. You smiled and Niall, who was walking towards you two. You stood up, leaning over the table to hug him. “That was beautiful,” You said, sitting back down and smoothing your wedding dress out over your lap. “You deserve it, again, I’m so happy for you two.” He said, smiling down at you. “Were you really jealous?” You asked, tentatively. Luke put a hand on your thigh and squeezed. “A little.” Niall admitted. “You were my friend. I wanted you. You know you always heard of those stories of friends ending up confessing their love and falling in love? I hoped that would happen to us, but truly, I’m glad we’re just friends.” He said, smiling. “I love you Niall,” You said, and you meant that. Niall had been one of your closest friends since childhood. You could thank him for making your life better in everyday. For introducing you to your husband, Luke, and even for just being there through everything. Niall sat back down, as you turned to face Luke. “Did you know Niall liked me?” You asked. It was merely a statement, with no anger or anything behind it. Luke smiled a tiny bit. “A little, but I just had this strong feeling for you. That was something I had never felt before. It was so surreal to feel. And I knew you felt the same, because you went weak in the knees the first time I kissed you. So I knew a little, just because I saw the way he looked at you, and the way he would talk about you. Sure, what I did was a little out of character and a little mean, but I had to make you mine. I knew you liked me romantically, and after watching the two of you, I saw you didn’t see Niall’s affection, nor did you reciprocate his feelings. So, I made my move.” He said shrugging. You turned to stare at Niall who was across the room, talking to some old friends from high school and for a brief moment you wondered what your life would be like if you had married Niall. But that would have been weird, truly. You saw him only as a friend, and you had kissed Niall before. You hadn’t gone weak in the knees, nor did you have the same fluttery effect every time he touched you. You felt that with Luke, and you knew that it was real what you were feeling. You did have to thank Niall for introducing you to Luke, because he had literally introduced you to your world. Niall looked up and he met your gaze from across the room. He smiled faintly, nodding his head, and smiling more widely before regaining his conversation with your friends. And at that moment you knew everything in your life was going in the right direction.

Michael: Being a vocal coach meant that you not only coached the boys how to sing, but you taught them how to breath, and to sing while moving. “Come on you slackers! Take it from the top!” You said, as they stood panting. “Its been months since we’ve done this, give us a break!” Zayn complained. “Nope, one more time.” You said, crossing your arms and watching as they groaned and resumed their original positions. The music began and so did the boys as they rehearsed their tour routines. Last thing you needed was one of them to strain their voices, and moving while singing would do that. You walked up to Liam, pushing his diaphragm in so he was breathing properly, before stepping back. After completing the routine, you gave them the night off from practicing, telling them to try and minimize the use of their voices to give it a rest. It was a love hate relationship. You pushed them to the breaking point, but you had to be careful for their well being. You had witnessed many singers hurt themselves by pushing themselves too far. And being one of the biggest bands in the world right now, they couldn’t afford to hurt themselves. You grabbed a bottle of water, walking to the back where you heard singing coming from one of the rooms. You followed the sound, wincing at how much the person was pushing themselves, and not carrying the notes properly. You peeked through the door to see an odd coloured hair boy singing to himself as he idly walked around the room. You pushed open the door, and immediately the singing stopped. “Oh I’m sorry,” You said apologizing. “No, I’m sorry,” He said. “You are?” You asked, and he smiled. “Michael Clifford, from 5 Seconds of Summer.” He replied. “Oh right! You’re the new band!” You said shaking your head. “And you are?” He questioned. “(Y/N), One Directions vocal coach.” You said. “I just heard you singing. I hate to be a nag, and especially on just meeting but you may want to straighten up when you sing. So when you sing, the air comes from here, and not from your throat.” You said, patting your stomach. “I just don’t want you to hurt yourself.” You added hastily. “I appreciate it,” He said, straightening up. You smiled awkwardly at each other, before you left. From then on in, you continually saw each other, and slowly you began to help Michael work on his singing. It was a slow process, he didn’t need much work, but there were some things that he could work on. So almost everyday you found the time to see each other. It grew into something you grew eager to do during the day. Even One Direction noticed how much time you spent with Michael. And day by day you two would get a tiny bit closer, or you would catch one of you looking at the other, seeing them staring would cause the other to blush. It was a shy game of skinny love. Neither of you were willing to admit just what was happening. But as almost a year progressed, you two found yourself growing closer and closer. Occasionally sleeping in each others bunks, spending the nights together, going for ‘friendly’ dinners. You two would manage to find time to yourselves in your chaotic schedules, or you would seek solace in each other when things got too busy. It was skinny love, you two were in love, but neither of you cared to admit it. It was almost better that way. Because there was not title, no pressure, and no desire to make it official. It was almost acknowledged that you two were something by the band members and the crew. Occasionally jokes would be made, or references to the two of you but it was all in playful banter. Who knew that simply offering to help with singing would manage to land you something that was so content and so peaceful that you wondered how you functioned without the presence of Michael in your life prior. It was amazing to think that a few words spoken to each other managed to create something so beautiful.

The Gospel According to Frozen

I will admit it, I have now watched Frozen seven times, and every time I have laughed and cried.  I think one of the reasons I love it so much is because the story of Anna’s love for Elsa reminds me of the story of God’s love for us.  (Be forewarned, there are some mega-spoilers ahead!)

At the beginning of Frozen, Anna and Elsa’s love for each other is very evident.  At the beginning of time, God created us to love and be loved by Him.  But Anna and Elsa’s relationship is disrupted by Elsa’s powers.  Our relationship with God is broken by sin.  We are estranged from God, we lock Him out of our lives and our hearts with our sin, just as Elsa locked Anna out of her room.

Elsa was born into her powers just as we are born into our sinful human nature.  She tried to manage her nature on her own.  She swung between the same two extremes that people do in dealing with their human nature.  She began by concealing it.  Putting on a show.  Pretending to be a “good girl.”  But she couldn’t last forever keeping it bottled up inside.  So she reverted to the other extreme and embraced her identity.  But that ended up being just as dangerous as she had feared all along.

Neither hiding her nature nor embracing it solved the problem.  She couldn’t get rid of her powers and when she tried to use them on her own she caused destruction.  All people are born into sin.  Romans 3:23 says, “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”  No matter how hard we try to “be good” we inevitably fall back into doing bad things, and if we choose to give into our sinful nature, we end up hurting ourselves and the people around us.  We and Elsa are both trapped by our situations without any way to save ourselves.

But what mattered in the movie was how Anna reacted to Elsa’s nature, and what matters in our lives is how God reacts to our sin.  When the truth about Elsa’s powers finally came out and she ran away, Anna went after her—even though Elsa had been rejecting Anna all her life.  Anna’s reaction was love and concern, not fear, hatred, or judgment.  Anna’s pursuit of her sister was a little crazy.  The shop owner told her, “The only one crazy enough to be out in this storm is you dear.”  God’s pursuit of us was even crazier.  Even though we reject God and separate ourselves from Him with our sin, He came after us.

Anna’s mission to rescue her sister involved trekking up a snow-covered mountain.  God’s mission to rescue us involved leaving His throne in Heaven to become one of us.  It was prophesied in Micah 1:3 that God would “come down from His dwelling place and tread on the heights of the earth.”  This prophecy was fulfilled God entered history in the form of the man Jesus Christ.

Anna was willing to risk her life to go after Elsa, and ultimately, she chose to give up her own life to save Elsa from death.  Anna demonstrates perfect sacrificial love when she puts aside her own needs to run and take the strike that would have killed Elsa.  Even though Elsa had spent her whole life shutting Anna out, and had rejected Anna’s attempts to help her, and had even struck a blow that was causing Anna’s death, Anna loved her sister enough to put herself between her and her attacker.  She was willing to die for the very person who was killing her.

Even though we are the ones at fault in our broken relationship with God, Christ was willing to die to save us from death.  Romans 5:8 says, “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”  God’s sacrificial love for us is truly amazing.  God gave us everything: life, happiness, love, and a relationship with Him, but we chose to reject Him and go our own way.  But God, rather than reject us as He would have been justified to do, and give us the punishment that our rebellion deserves, chose to take that punishment upon Himself.  He, the perfect and glorious one whose face we spit on in our sin, humbled Himself to die in our place for the very sin we had committed against Him.

Elsa is amazed that Anna would sacrifice herself to save her.  She asks her, “you sacrificed yourself for me?”  Anna simply replies, “I love you.”  John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life.”

After Anna gave her life to save Elsa, Elsa’s whole life was redeemed.  Before Anna gave her life to save her, Elsa’s powers weighed her down and entrapped her.  She spent all her time and energy trying to conceal and control them and even then they were destructive and dangerous.  But after Anna’s sacrifice, Elsa’s powers were transformed by love.  They became something beautiful and life giving.

Before Jesus died for our sins, our sinful human nature weighed us down.  We can try to hide it, but we can’t help but be destructive to ourselves and others.  But because of Jesus’s sacrificial death, we have the chance to have our whole nature transformed.  2 Corinthians 5:17 “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old things have passed away, all things are becoming new.”  We no longer have to conceal our sins, because they are now forgiven, and we no longer have to live in destructive patterns; because of Christ we can be changed into the loving creatures that God intended us to be.

Anna gave her life for Elsa, but then came back from the dead.  Jesus died for us, but three days later he rose again.  Romans 5:10 says, “For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!”  When Anna’s act of true love unfroze her heart, everything in Elsa’s life was transformed.  Elsa was on a path to become a villain, but because of Anna’s sacrificial death to save her, and then return from that death, Elsa’s life and powers were redeemed by love.  Because of Jesus’s sacrificial death on the cross, and then resurrection from that death, our lives can be transformed into something beautiful.  Neither Elsa nor we could save ourselves, but both Anna’s and God’s loving sacrifice make beauty from destruction.

“Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”  Is such a sad sequence especially once you know that Anna’s love all along could have saved Elsa from her prison.  Elsa kept the one person who could have helped her locked out.  Anna said “I’m right out here for you just let me in.”  In Revelation 3:20 Jesus says, “I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in.”  We can remain locked in the prison of our own sinful nature, or we can open the door to Jesus and let him transform our lives through the power of His love and sacrifice.

One thing that I think is really amazing is that when Frozen was originally written, Elsa was written as the villain.  But because of her relationship with Anna, the writers decided to change the end of the movie, and have Anna’s love save Elsa from spiralling into evil.  Anna’s love saved Elsa from destruction.  God’s love can save us from destruction.  Romans 10:13 says, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”  Do not hesitate today to call on God to change the ending of your story!

How can I start a relationship with God?

Having a personal relationship with God begins the moment we realize our need for Him, admit we are sinners, and in faith receive Jesus Christ as Savior. God, our heavenly Father, has always desired to be close to us, to have a relationship with us. Before Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden (Genesis chapter 3), both he and Eve knew God on an intimate, personal level. They walked with Him in the garden and talked directly to Him. Due to the sin of man, we became separated and disconnected from God.

What many people do not know, realize, or care about, is that Jesus gave us the most amazing gift—the opportunity to spend eternity with God if we trust in Him. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). God became a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ to take on our sin, be killed, and then be raised to life again, proving His victory over sin and death. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). If we accept this gift, we have become acceptable to God and can have a relationship with Him.

Having a personal relationship with God means we should include God in our daily lives. We should pray to Him, read His word, and meditate on verses in an effort to get to know Him better. We should pray for wisdom (James 1:5), which is the most valuable asset we could ever have. We should take our requests to Him, asking in Jesus’ name (John 15:16). Jesus is the one who loves us enough to give His life for us (Romans 5:8), and He is the one who bridged the gap between us and God.

The Holy Spirit has been given to us as our Counselor. “If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever—the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you” (John 14:15-17). Jesus said this before He died, and after He died, the Holy Spirit became available to all who earnestly seek to receive Him. He is the one who lives in the hearts of believers and never leaves. He counsels us, teaches us truths, and changes our hearts. Without this divine Holy Spirit, we would not have the ability to fight against evil and temptations. But since we do have Him, we begin to produce the fruit that comes from allowing the Spirit to control us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

This personal relationship with God is not as hard to find as we might think, and there is no mysterious formula for getting it. As soon as we become children of God, we receive the Holy Spirit, who will begin to work on our hearts. We should pray without ceasing, read the Bible, and join a Bible-believing church; all these things will help us to grow spiritually. Trusting in God to get us through each day and believing that He is our sustainer is the way to have a relationship with Him. Although we may not see changes immediately, we will begin to see them over time, and all the truths will become clear.

@miss-nerdgasmz

While I agree with most of what you wrote about the lack of consistency in RWBY’s overall writing quality and direction, and I agree to an extent with the entirety of it, I did just want to bring up a few thoughts:

1. I think the direction they took with Roman and Neo was great…. provided they capitalise on it. If this is how Roman’s story ends, then it was such a wasted subplot. He’s truly became his own major character. And it’s not inconsistency if you happen to find gold in the creative process. They didn’t expect Torchwick to be as powerful a character, so when he proved to be so they set up for a big, big story. At least I hope that’s the case. If Roman is built up as this person who lived the life of hard knocks, whose only friend was Neo, and who is only doing what he’s doing because he – quite literally – can’t afford not to, then that is a really good character. Keep Roman in the fold, just trying to make his way and take care of Neo in a life where he can’t actually get a job or an ounce of sympathy purely because when he was younger no one gave a damn. He was the poor homeless kid who had to steal to survive, fight for his life, every single night, and that landed him a criminal record that he can’t escape. And the kingdoms are too paranoid to give someone like him a real chance of a happy life, so he and Neo do anything and everything to survive. That’s why Roman just won’t die. It’s why he won’t disappear. He cares about Neo. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep both himself and her fed, clothed, warm, and sheltered. And perhaps the day Neo dies is the day Roman becomes his own Big Bad and 15 volumes from now there’ll be a story where Roman in the main antagonist and not just a side villain. By giving Roman this story, you build Roman as an amazing character moving forward. Nothing wrong with that.

2. It’s important to separate Adam’s issues with Blake from Adam’s view of the world. He might have once had genuinely good intentions, he may very well still, but he’s firmly past the point of salvation. He speaks as if he’s now after superiority – which could be the result of listening to Cinder combined with his own slowly cracking humanity viewed in Black and Blake abandoning him. As for how he’s creepy, abusive and obsessive, yeah, he is, toward Blake. But he’s not like that in general. He says it himself:
“And as I set out to deliver the justice mankind so greatly deserves, I will make it my mission to destroy everything you love.”
As Adam does what he needs to stop Humanity from mistreating Faunuskind he will personally – not the Fang – he will destroy Blake’s life. That makes him a monster in a whole other sense. The White Fang itself could still absolutely be righteous. I mean, hell, look at superpower in the world, they’re all led - or have been led - by pretty darn bad people  Whether those people made good leaders is up for interpretation but given that some of them (like Bill Clinton) were re-elected it seems they were doing something right. Don’t mistake Adam’s personal insanity as reflective of his overall beliefs with regards to the Fang. And remember one thing: We saw three silhouettes when Blake brought up the White Fang leadership, and Adam’s silhouette is NOT front and center. Personally, this could be interesting if, say, there are White Fang leaders in Mistral and Atlas, too, and these two basically demote or exile Adam for his (mis)treatment of Blake and for joining Cinder. Hell that might have already happened. A splinter group of a terrorist cell is a pretty scary thought.

3. As for everything else, I agree, I also think that some writing (such as a lot of Field Trip/Search and Destroy/Mountain Glenn/No Brakes/Breach was written in hindsight because they didn’t want to try and squeeze everything into one volume, but I also think that they absolutely could have condensed the plots of V2 and 3 into one, say, 15 episode Volume (though they would have lost some of the Mountain Glenn stuff BUUUUT at the same time that could’ve been canonised in Grimm Eclipse)

Borussia Dortmund as Harry Potter characters

Requested by endlessmadridismo.

Mats Hummels as Harry Potter

The Chosen One suffering from the hero complex, with constant need to save the others while sacrificing himself in the process. Will fight Voldemort, but doesn’t know how to tell his true love (a certain Hogwarts student called Benedikt Höwedes) about his feelings. Typical.

Roman Weidenfeller as Minerva McGonagall

The reasonable and responsible one that usually has to hold Potter (and many others) back so that things don’t end in a complete disaster. Knows a lot, usually sticks to the rules but when the situation asks for it, is ready to break them - with complete grace, of course.

Marco Reus as Hermione Granger

The brightest witch… eh, wizard… of his age, looks sweet but can be deadly, looks like all he follows are rules, but it’s not always like that. Sometimes needs to pull his foolish friends back when they’re about to do something stuping (relates with Roman McGonagall Weidenfeller here).

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as Ron Weasley

Would follow his friends and family to the grave, sometimes he feels inferior because people expect great things from him and he’s not sure if he can live up to those expectations. His relationship with Hermione (Marco) looked impossible at first, but then, opposites attract.

Jakub Błaszczykowski & Łukasz Piszczek as Fred & George Weasley

The inseparable duo that everyone knows. They are rarely seen apart, and when they are together, nothing is safe from their pranks. They are able to concentrate on more important things, but they prefer to have fun.

Neven Subotić as Viktor Krum

Comes from a foreign land, has a reputation and is very skilled in both Quidditch and magic. Gets a lot of attention from girls, but unfortunately none of the relationships seem to last.

Shinji Kagawa as Cho Chang

The beauty that even Harry Potter fell for and that made it to the Yule Ball as the Hogwarts champion’s date. Usually stuck having feelings for someone and feeling guilty because of it. Also a brilliant witch, but sometimes can’t handle the pressure (remember Dumbledore’s Army and Umbridge?).

Erik Durm as Dean Thomas

Somehow lost in the wizarding world at first because he was born to muggles (or so he thought), but eventually managed to fit in really well. Gets on well with everyone and has faith in his friends, no matter what.

Matthias Ginter as Seamus Finnigan

Everyone knows that he and Dean (Erik) are a thing, and everyone is perfectly okay with it. Talented wizard, although sometimes he blows things up (literally).

Sven Bender as Colin Creevey

Although he’s been a part of the wizarding world for a while now, he’s still pretty much amazed by everything (mainly Mats Hummels).

İlkay Gündoğan as Sirius Black

Looks much more dangerous and villainous than he actually is. In reality he is a skilled wizard always ready to fight in the war, and if he can’t fight, it really frustrates him.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan as Rubeus Hagrid

Not everything he does is safe or wise (or let’s say his definition of things that are safe and wise is different from the usual standard), but he would lay down his life for the safety of his friends.

Marcel Schmelzer as Luna Lovegood

The blonde, a bit weird type that stands in the background but is always ready to help when his friends need him. Never judges anyone before really getting to know them. Can see solution in problems that make others want to give up.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos as Bill Weasley

He’s traveled the world so now he is looking for a place to stay and feel loved. Although one of the most experienced wizards, he still knows how to enjoy life.

Nuri Şahin as Firenze

A bit mysterious, has a temper, likes humans more than a centaur should (certain humans more than the others). Left his herd (Real Madrid) to fight on the side of the good.

Kevin Großkreutz as Remus Lupin

Looks dangerous and people think he can be dangerous (which he actually can), but in fact he is a lovely person. His only problem is with relationships, because, even though he sees all the cute couples around him, he’s not sure that he’s entitled to love as well.

Kevin Kampl as Dobby

Desperately wants to help Potter (Mats) and company, but was held back by previous owners before he became a free elf and could join the good side. Can be a valuable ally, although sometimes his good intentions backfire.

Notable former members

Jürgen Klopp as Albus Dumbledore

One of the wisest wizards in the world, devoted to his work and constantly fighting against the evil. He tried to hold the bunch of undisciplined individuals together for a long time, but everything comes to an end one day.

Mario Götze as Draco Malfoy

A very complicated character, conflicted between serving lord Voldemort (Guardiola) and being himself, which doesn’t necessarily go together, because Draco isn’t actually a bad person. Cares deeply about his family and friends, but can be very rude to those he doesn’t deem worth his time.

What does it mean to have a relationship with God
