Ya Ab al-Fadl al-Abbas (as)

May Allah’s curse be on Hakim Bin Tufail (lnt) who cut off right hand and Allah’s curse be on Zaid bin Warrd (lnt) who cut off left hand of Moula Abbas (as)

“Infinite peace and blessings be upon you and your righteous and enlightening behavior, O Ab al-Fadl! Peace be upon you as you reached your high status and courageously accomplished the path you faced.

In the Ziyarat of Nahiya, Imam Mahdi (A.S.) addresses him as the following:"Peace be upon Ab al-Fadl al-Abbas, son of the commander of the believers, the one who protected his brother with his own life, and collected provisions from his past for his future. It is he who sacrificed himself for his brother, made his own life a shield, and made sufficient effort for his sake”

Abul-Fadhl Abbas (عليه السلام) - the brother and Flagbearer of Imam Hussain (عليه السلام) 🦁🌕

Abul-Fadhl Abbas (عليه السلام) was the valiant son of Imam Ameerulmumineen (عليه السلام) and Lady UmmulBaneen (سلام الله علیها‎‎). He was raised utterly devoted in his service to the Ahlulbayt (عليهم السلام). He was elected as the personal guard of his sister Lady Zainab (سلام الله علیها‎‎) and Imam Hussain (عليه السلام) referred to him as his own back. Abul-Fadhl Abbas (عليه السلام) has titles including Qamar Bani Hashim (the moon of Bani Hashim) due to his radiant face full of noor, Alamdar (the flagbearer) as he was the most courageous and loyal solider in Imam Hussain’s (عليه السلام) army and Bab al-Hawaj (the door to wishes) due to the many miracles that have happened due to his intercession. His loyalty to the holy household remained until the very end when he was martyred in Karbala.

▫ It is narrated that Lady Zainab (سلام الله علیها‎‎) turned to her father Imam Ameerulmumineen (عليه السلام) and asked ❝Father, have you chosen a name and nickname for the new baby?❞

The Imam replied ❝Yes daughter I have.❞

❝What are they, father?❞ She asked eagerly.

The Imam replied ❝I have named him al-Abbas (the frowning) and his nickname is Abul-Fadhl (father of virtues).❞

📗 Al-Khassaiss ul-Abbasiyya

▫ ‘Hazrat Abbas (عليه السلام) was so bright-faced that the light of his countenance lit all darkness and everybody admired his handsomeness. When it happened that he was accompanied by his nephew Hazrat Ali al-Akbar (عليه السلام) who is known for his similarity to the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) physically and morally - the people of Medina stopped in lines to watch their bright faces.’

 📗 Thakheerat ud-Darein

▫ ‘Abul-Fadhl Abbas (عليه السلام) was from a perfect world that was full of valour; fear never entered his mind during the battles in which he participated with his father (عليه السلام).’

📗  Al-Khissal

▫ Imam Zainulabedin (عليه السلام) said ❝May Allah (ﷻ) have mercy upon my uncle al-Abbas (عليه السلام). He preferred his brother to himself; he did well and sacrificed himself for his brother until he lost his two hands for the sake of this. Thus, instead of his two hands, Allah will give him two wings with which he will fly with the angels in Paradise, just like Ja’far ibn Abu Talib (عليه السلام). In the sight of Allah, the Blessed, the Exalted, al-Abbas enjoys a peculiar rank for which all the martyrs will be hopeful for it they had its like on the Day of Resurrection.❞

 📗  Al-Khissal

▫ Imam Sadiq (عليه السلام) said ❝My uncle al-Abbas (عليه السلام) was clear-sighted and steadfastly faithful. He fought along with his brother al-Hussain (عليه السلام), did very well and was martyred.❞

 📗  Umdet ut-Talib

▫ The Master of our age, Imam Mahdi (عليه السلام), may Allah (ﷻ) hasten his reappearance, said ❝Peace be upon Abul-Fadhl Abbas (عليه السلام), son of Ameerulmumineen (عليه السلام). He preferred his brother to himself, supllied himself with (opportunties of) today for (rewards of) tomorrow, sacrificed himself for his brother, protected him, hurried for fetching him water and his two hands were cut off for this. May Allah curse his killers; Yazid ibn ar-Raqqad (la) and Hukaim ibn at-Tuffail at-Taee.❞

📗 Al-Mazzar

May Allah (ﷻ) grant all us all of our du’as and needs in the name of the holy and loyal Flagbearer of Karbala. Ameen. 💜

The difference between the shrines of Hazrat Abolfazl and Imam Hussain (a.s.)

Imam Sadiq (a.s.) narrates,

‘Allah has appointed some angels at Imam Husain’s grave. When a Shia makes the intention for Imam Husain’s (a.s.) Ziarat, Allah forgives all his sins. When he takes a step to go for Ziarat, he erases his sins. His virtues multiply and they increase till the time he becomes worthy of Paradise ‘.

(Wasailul Mohibbeen, pg. 280)

May Allah SWT grant all of us the Ziyarah of Imam Hussain AS.
