“Why is he spending so much time with her? It’s stupid!” Hayden growled.

“I don’t know, you’d think someone so quiet would be able to control themselves, I don’t even know why he turned her, she’s always clinging to him.” Liam snapped as Hayden lent against the wall next to him.

“He didn’t stay up all night with me when I was struggling.” Hayden said quietly as she glanced at Liam who nodded.

It had all happened so fast. The three monstrous men in masks called the ‘Dread Doctors’ had kidnapped me right after my soccer practise a few days back. I had dreamed about them nights before they took me and I heard Mason who was a good friend of mine, talk about them to his best friend Liam. They were experimenting on people and I was probably the next to come. I was not only terrified about what they would do to me, but also about what I would become. I’ve seen the most terrifying creatures being made out of normal teenagers in the last few days and I knew I didn’t wanted to be one of them. Especially, not a failure. Failures were bad. Really bad.

They had to be eliminated immediately and these so called Dread Doctors definitely didn’t had a problem with killing people. I opened my eyes, waking up from strange, buzzing noises coming from the other side of the hall or whatever this place was called. I looked around but I couldn’t see anything, beside the greenish light that hurt my eyes. “Hayden, are you okay?” A familiar voice suddenly asked. I turned my head to see Liam Dunbar and Hayden Romero sitting at the edge of the room, laying in each others arms. “I don’t know,” Hayden replied with a painful expression on her face. I cleared my throat and got both of their attention.

“Hey, I know you. You’re (Y/N), right? I think we’re in the same english class.” Liam said to me. I nodded. “I think I’m the next one,” I whispered looking at them. “They’re doing terrible things, to all these people. I’ve seen so many of them die. I don’t want to be one of them.” I mumbled, feeling anxiety filling me. Before Liam or Hayden could say something, one of the Dread Doctors entered the lair and walked towards me. “No, please don’t!” I begged while tears were filling up in my eyes. Liam tried to stand up to help me, but he was to weak and automatically slid down the wall. Hayden was holding him. “Please, you don’t have to do this. Just let us go.” I cried, but it was too late. The man was grabbing me by my collar and pulling me out of the room violently.

“LET HER GO!” I could hear Liam yell but his voice was already too far away. The man laid me on a conductor and buckled me up. Right after that, the other two men appeared. I was screaming and defending myself, but one of the Doctors was holding me tightly, while another one was grabbing my neck and injecting me something. Suddenly, everything got blurry and went black.

I woke up and find myself sitting in a car. “Good, you’re awake.” A deep voice beside me said. I turned my head towards the voice and saw a guy from my school sitting in the driving seat, I think he was a senior. “What happened?” I asked confused. “Don’t you remember anything?” The guy asked me. I shook my head but it hurt like hell and I immediately regretted it. I squinched. “Are you okay?” He looked over at me with a worried expression on his face. “Y-Yeah, I’m fine. My head just hurts a little.” I replied, starring at the senior. He nodded and focused back onto the road.

“We’re almost there. Hold on, okay?” I just nodded and leaned my head against the window. I looked out of the window. It was dark outside and rain was splashing against the window glass. I focused my gaze onto the road, trying to distract myself from everything around me. So much had happened in the last few days, but I couldn’t remember anything. “The pain’s gone. How’d you do that?” I heard a voice say. I focused back into reality and saw Liam and Hayden sitting in the back from the rearmirror. “I don’t know.” Liam replied, before he leaned in to kiss her. A moment after that the car stopped and the senior guy got out of the car. He opened the door for me and I hopped out of the car. “Where are we?” I asked, looking around the place. But it was too dark to see anything. Suddenly the three masked men from my nightmares were standing infront of me again. They were walking towards me, trying to tangle me. “No, please don’t! Just leave me alone!” I screamed while lashing around me. “(Y/N)! Hey,(Y/N)! It’s okay. It’s okay. Come on, look at me.” A familar voice said while holding me in his arms. I looked up. It was the senior guy.

“It’s okay. You’re safe. They can’t hurt you anymore. I won’t let them hurt you, again.” He said while strocking my back softly. “I-I.. They, they were there and they were trying to..” I stuttered, tears streaming down my face. “I know. I know. Come on, we should go inside. You’re shaking and freezing.” He picked me up bridal style and carried me into a shed. He laid me down onto a couch and covered me up in blankets. Liam and Hayden were lying there too, both still asleep in each others arms. “You need some rest.” The senior guy said. “I’m Isaac by the way.” He smiled at me.

Suddenly the door was opened and three people entered the room. I recognized two seniors who were always hanging around with Liam  and I recognized Mason, who ran towards me and hugged me tightly. “Oh my god (Y/N)! You’re alive, thank god! I was so worried about you.” He smiled and then went to hug Isaac. “Thanks for saving them. All three of them.” Mason said. Isaac scretched his neck sheepishly and smiled. “Yeah, it’s okay. Don’t worry about it.” He replied looking over at the couch where we were resting. “Good job Isaac. I’m glad you were there to help.” One of the seniors said, patting him on his shoulders.

A lot more people entered the room, walking around nervously, hugging each other in a relieved way. By the time I had found out all their names. The two seniors who entered the room with Mason were Scott Mccall and Malia Tate. The others were Lydia Martin, Stiles Stilinski, Theo Raeken and Kira Yukimura. I felt myself drifting asleep, but I could still hear the others talk.

“So what do we do with her now?” Stiles asked the others. “What do you mean doing with her? I saved her. She’s staying with us.” Isaac replied defensively. “Yeah, but she could be dangerous. Remember what happened to the other teenagers that were with the Dread Doctors? We have to take her under our wing. We need to figure out what they did to her.” Stiles exclaimed. “Yeah, Stiles is right. We have to talk to her.” Scott joined the conversation. “Fine. I’ll do it. But first let her sleep.” Isaac mumbled determinated.

After about an hour of sleep I woke up. The pack was sitting around a table, playing some games or just talking to each other. Lydia was the first to recognize me. “Oh hey, (Y/N).” She smiled and the others looked over at me. I sat up and put the blanket over my shoulders. Liam and Hayden were still asleep, so I tried to stay a quiet as possible to let them sleep a bit longer.

I walked over to the table where the others were and sat onto the free seat next to Isaac. He smiled at me softly. “Could you get some rest?” He asked, looking at me. I nodded. “Yeah.” Stiles and Scott were looking at each other and Scott nodded. “Hey, (Y/N). Do you remember anything that happened to you before you got here?” Stiles asked me from the other side of the table. “I don’t know. A few things are coming back from time to time, but there are still a lot of pieces missing.” I said, getting the attention from all members of the pack now. “You don’t have to do this if you’re not ready.” Isaac whispered into my ear, his hand on my back. “No, it’s alright. I just want to get over with it.” I replied.

“Okay, so what do you remember?” Malia asked. “I remember that I had just finished my soccer practise. I was on my way back home when suddenly three black men in masks were approaching me. The next thing I remember is waking up in the lair, many dead bodies were laying around me. The last thing I remember is being in the lair with Liam and Hayden. After that everything is gone. It’s like a lack of my memories are missing.” I explained, thinking back to all the things that had happened to me. It was so weird, because so many memories were gone.

“Maybe they did something to you. Do you mind if I try something?” Theo asked, looking at me with an excpectant glance. “Okay,” Theo stood up and approached me. He put his phone out of his pockets and switched his flashlight on. “Can you close your eyes for five seconds?” He looked at me, giving me a short smile, before putting one of his hands on my shoulders. I looked over to Isaac who was giving me a 'it’s-gonna-be-okay’ look and I nodded. I closed my eyes and Theo put the phone with his flashlight infront of my face.

“Okay, open up.” He said. I did what he said and opened my eyes, the light shining brightly in my eyes. “What do you see?” I asked but nobody said something. Theo put the flashlight down and put his phone back into his pockets. “We know what you are now,” Stiles said after a moment of silence. “You’re a Chimera. You’re one of them.” The whole room was quiet. I felt my body getting weak and my knees crumbled down onto the ground, but a strong pair of arms was  suddenly holding me and saving me from falling down completely. I looked up. It was Isaac. He was holding me in his arms, just like he did when I thought the Dread Doctors where back and coming for me again. “What are we gonna do?” Lydia asked, her voice sounding like she was about to break.

“We have to save her. Save her somehow. Before it’s too late.” Scott said. “We’ll bring her to Deaton tomorrow.” Scott was looking at me. “You’re safe now, (Y/N). We’re gonna help you.” He said giving me a hopeful smile. Isaac lifted me up and Kira put the blanket around my body. “Thanks.” I mumbled, getting a little smile from her. “Thank you for saving me. Thank you for saving my life, Isaac.” I looked at him.

He smiled at me. “Don’t worry about the Dread Doctors okay? You’re safe now. We’ll protect you. I’ll protect you. I’ll protect you with everything I have. I’ll keep you save.” He whispered and kissed my forehead. I smiled at him and knew that no matter what would happen now, I had finally find a place I belonged to. It was Isaac. He was my safe haven.

Liam’s POV

My mind was reeling.

Between the kiss and everyone, including my fiancé, discovering my secret, I had no clue where to start. I never wanted to hurt Hayden, yet I never intended to hurt (Y/N) either. I keep looking back and forth in both directions. On one side the girl I was supposed to marry was walking away and being comforted by her bridesmaids. On the other side, the girl that I knew I always loved was walking off to God knows where.

Both were going to walk out my life, yet there was one I wasn’t prepared to live without. The pack stayed behind as everyone else left. A part of me was glad they already knew.

“So. How’s it going buddy?”, Stiles finally said

Lydia glared at her boyfriend, everything about the look in her eyes was telling him to stop talking, but Malia didn’t notice.

“I highly doubt he’s okay”, she responded after sensing my chemosignals, “Who in their right mind would be okay after–”

She finally glanced in Lydia’s direction and immediately stopped speaking.

“It’s alright guys. I knew for a while now how I felt about (Y/N) and I thought if I buried how I felt, eventually my feelings for her would go away. I was so wrong. I’ve never loved anyone the way I loved her”

“Not even Hayden?”, Mason asked, even though he already knows what the answer will be

A part of me didn’t want to say it out loud. If I did, it would only attest to how awful I’ve truly been to her.

“…not even close”, I sighed

Everyone started telling me things would eventually be alright, but I was worried about now. For starters, I had to apologize to Hayden, if she ever planned on speaking to me again.

The next day, I made my way up to our home. Hesitantly, I raised my hand to ring the doorbell when the door flew open.

“What do you think you’re doing”, Valerie sneered, “Did you think you could just show up after what you did to her and things would get better? I thought you were better than this Dunbar”

“I’m not here to make things better because I know I screwed up. Hayden deserves to know the truth”

I could hear her heartbeat in the kitchen. She was standing still, undoubtedly listening in.

“Is it okay if I step in?”, I called out

“It’s your house too”, Hayden answered softly

I stepped into what was supposed to be a happy home, unaware of what to say next. The hall on the way to the kitchen was filled with pictures of the two us on vacation and at graduation. There were also pictures of us out with our friends, but one was missing.

We had a picture right in the middle of the wall that we took with the entire pack after we graduated. Scott, Stiles, Lydia, and Kira came back to see us walk across the stage. It was a special day, but to have them all there made it a day we would never forget. Now it was nowhere to be seen.

That picture never left the wall before. Hayden wouldn’t have touched it if she didn’t have a reason to. Something like a friend that she saw kissing her boyfriend the day before being in that certain photo would do the trick.

I finally made my way to the kitchen to see Hayden sitting on the counter, twirling her favorite necklace in her fingers, not even acknowledging my presence. When she decided to look up, she gave a smile that didn’t reach her eyes which were puffy and red. She had a lot on her mind and so did I, but I figured I should let her go first.

“How long?”, was all she had to break the silence

“How long was what?”

“How long have you been in love with (Y/N)?”

“Since high school”

She rolled her eyes and grimaced, “Then why did you start dating me then? I’m sure her no dating rule wouldn’t have bothered you that much unless…you’re the reason she has it in the first place”

I nodded as she correctly assumed what the issue was.

“You both loved each other, but for her to say she doesn’t want to do relationships anymore would me that you did something to make her feel that way. What did you do to her?”

“We both knew how we felt about each other, yet we still decided to stay friends. We never dated anyone else though. Pretty soon you came along and I never denied my feelings for you either. I never told her you were interested in me or that the feeling was mutual, so when she saw us kissing a Sinema I told her we weren’t anything to begin with and whatever we had ended right there”

Hayden sat in silence as she took in what I said. The silence was killing me. Even if she was angry at her, (Y/N) was still her friend and I had a feeling she was going to hate me for what I did to her. I hated me for what I did to her.

“She had a good reason”, she mumbled, “So she stayed my friend even though I was dating you?”

“(Y/N) and I never really spoke after that, but given that you two were becoming good friends and no one else knew, she never said anything and neither did I. She kept it all bottled up until last night”

Hayden had remained calm for the entire conversation, but it wasn’t that difficult to tell she was about to snap.

“Then go to her”, she sneered, “You dated me this entire time knowing you were in love with her. How could you love me and want to marry me when your heart belonged to someone else this entire time!? You hurt my friend, then turned around and hurt me too. This marriage wouldn’t have lasted if you’re still in love with her”

“Hayden, I…”

“It doesn’t matter anymore Liam! Just leave”, she yelled as she began to shake, “Don’t come near me ever again”

She stayed silent as tears rolled down her cheeks. This wasn’t supposed to be easy. Given what I did to the both of them, I didn’t deserve easy. I made my way out of my old home as Valerie’s glare burned a hole in the back of my head.

My next step was finding the girl who’s had my heart since high school.

(Y/N)’s POV

My bags sat at the door as I paced back and forth. It was just a few hours ago I kissed my friend’s future husband, who happened to be the same person I was in love with. Hayden hated me for sure. I never wanted to hurt her which was why I never wanted to tell her in the first place.

As I thought about the night before, it was hard not to be angry with myself. I spent so much time keeping my distance and making sure Liam never found out how I felt about him. The last thing I expected to hear was him confessing his love to me, then kissing me.

I wanted to be stronger than that. Spending years attempting to keep everything bottled up and just him being in close proximity was enough for my resolve to break. I couldn’t let it happen again regardless of how he felt. I refused after the way he hurt me.

My taxi would be here in fifteen minutes to take me to the airport. I wanted to be as far away from here as possible. As far away from Liam Dunbar as possible.

I sat patiently on the bed, when I heard my phone begin to ring with Liam’s name flashing across my screen. I didn’t really want answer, but curiosity got the better of me.

“Can we meet somewhere?”, he asked hesitantly

“I thought last night meant goodbye for good”

“Please don’t let it be. Give me fifteen minutes to explain, if you don’t want to anything to do with me afterwards, then I’ll be out your life for good. I promise”

The sincerity in his voice was what convinced me to hear him out. After everything that happened between us, he still wanted me to stay.

“Really?”, he said excitedly, “Meet me at Skyline in five minutes”

Before I could respond, he hung up the phone. He wanted to meet at where it all started. We met at the Skyline diner after school. Two nervous juniors sat across from each other, barely making eye contact. We managed to tell each other how we felt and the rest was history. Most of dates were there since it was all we could afford at the age of sixteen.

He had fifteen minutes, given that I needed to get to the airport. My flight leaves in four hours and I needed to get there early.

As soon as I pushed the door open, a waitress greeted me with a giant grin.

“You must be (Y/N). Liam is waiting for you. I think you know where he is”, she smiled sending a wink my way

Liam and I affectionately called the booth in the corner of the diner ‘our booth’. It was where we said our first of many I love yous and shared our first kiss. I wouldn’t be surprised if he pulled out all the stops in the short fifteen minutes he was given.

I made my way to the corner of the diner, where he was already waiting with a smile spreading across his face.

“I honestly didn’t think you would come when I mentioned Skyline”, he said happily

“Is that why you hung up?”

“Of course”

I could feel a smile beginning to spread across my face. Even after everything that happened yesterday, he was still the same.

“Why here?”

“This is where it started and if it doesn’t work out this is where it should end”

“That’s a little too poetic coming from you Liam”

“I try”, he said as a smile made its way to his face again, “I don’t want things to end the way the did. I actually don’t want it to end at all”

“You know why I’m a hesitant on agreeing to that, right?”

I didn’t want to be angry with him. I had a few years to get over how we ended, but rehashing those feelings again was going to take its toll on me at some point.

“I’m fully aware and I still want us to try…”

“To what? Be exclusive?”, I scoffed, “We tried something similar to that last time and it turned out so well”

He sighed and took a moment before he could respond,“I thought about you constantly. Even if what happened last night never happened, I wouldn’t have been able to go through with it because she wasn’t you. There was a moment when I thought Hayden could have been the one that I loved, but I realized I was only doing it to try to forget you and that was impossible”

There it was again. The sincerity in his voice and written all over his face. He meant everything he said and it was hard not to feel that pull towards him once more.

“What makes you think I’m ready for this? Maybe I’m not ready to jump into a relationship since it worked out so great before”

“This won’t be anything like before. Things would be different. I’m different. No more lies”

My phone began to ring. The taxi company’s name flashed across the screen. Before I could react, Liam grabbed my phone off the table and answered.

“Yes? She can’t make it. Sorry for waiting so long to cancel. Have a nice day ma’am”

“Liam!”, I nearly yelled as I reached across the table to take my phone from him

Here I was again, in that close proximity I tried so hard to avoid. He tensed as stared into my eyes. Deep down I knew this was where I wanted to be because it felt so right.  There was always a part of me felt content with being around Liam. I fell in love with him without hesitation.

“(Y/N) I can’t  just let you leave without telling you how I feel”, he said as he moved to sit next to me, “I never stopped loving you. What I did was unacceptable and I didn’t even apologize for it. I’m so sorry for the way I treated you because I never wanted to hurt you. Over the years I knew you wanted nothing to do with relationships because of me drove me crazy. I wanted to be the one to make you happy, but I did the complete opposite for my own selfish reasons. I can’t make you stay, but if you do, I’ll spend every moment trying to make it up to you. The only person I want to be with is you”

Silence soon took over as I let what he said sink in. His nerves were getting the best of him. There was no reason for him to apologize in the first place, since I forgave Liam a long time ago. The only problem was me not being able to move on, which hurt the most. Liam loved me. I loved Liam. It was that simple.

“Liam I already forgave you”, he visibly relaxes, “but I’m not ready to jump into a relationship just yet. It was impossible for me to stop loving you. If this is going to work, I think we should take our time because I really want this to work”

“I’m willing if you are”, he smiled, “I don’t care how long it takes as long as I get to be with you in the end. I just want to make you as happy as you make me”

I smiled back, “I love you so much”

“I love you more”

“Your fifteen minutes are up”

His eyes lit up as he started to laugh, “I guess I should be quick then”

Liam looked at me hesitantly as if asking for permission while he held onto my hand. I smiled and he leaned forward, pressing his lips against mine. In that moment it all made sense. This was definitely where I needed to be.

Pairing: Theo x Reader

Summary: Liam resurrects Theo despite you pleading for him not too.

Side Note: Inspired by 6x06

Running down the hallway you came to a halt to where Liam and Hayden were standing. “You can’t do this, Liam”. Panting as you were trying to catch your breath. “We have no choice, if there was another way I’ll choose that instead but there isn’t”. He replied, shifting from foot to foot knowing that was a big thing to ask.

“We do have a choice not to do something as reckless as this”, you retorted back. Still in compete shock that he would even consider this as a good plan, or that this even crossed his mind at all. Liam looked between both you and Hayden, “I need both of you to trust me right now, please”, he pleaded. Trust, you often forgot what that world meant. Long ago you trusted someone and they threw everything out the window for status and power. Hayden eventually nodded and said she was with Liam, which ultimately gave you no choice. Either way he was going to go through with this, no matter how you felt about it or how much you protested against it. Stamping your foot to the ground, you huffed and followed Liam and Hayden out. Dreading what was going to happen.

As all three of you were walking down the tunnels to that particular spot, your stomach decided to do massive somersaults. This was already nerve racking enough and with each step the anxious feeling only grew. “We can still turn around and forget this whole idea”, you muttered beside Liam. He shook his head and continued walking, sharing a worried glance towards Hayden, this wasn’t going to end well…you just knew it.

After been giving a warning from Kira’s mum, she left the scene, leaving just three. The air grew thinner as Liam stuck the sword into the ground. Moments later a fist broke through, breath hitched as you watched the man you used to, or still love, you weren’t sure come literally out of the ground. Theo adjusted to his surroundings and eyed the three of you, eyes glowing an amber yellow colour and a low growl escaped his lips. Theo launched himself at Liam, grabbed him by the shirt and slammed him into the nearest wall.

Hayden stepped forward and shouted, “Stop Theo. We’re the ones that brought you back”. However Theo wasn’t listening and growled even more threatening then before. “I’m going to kill all of you”. Apart of yourself didn’t know if this was going to work, it would have before. But undoubtedly Theo wasn’t the same man he was. Placing a soft hand on his shoulder, he turned to look at you. This was the first time in months you had seen him this close, touched him even. “Theo, it’s okay. You’re safe”.

He stepped away, while Hayden rushed to make sure Liam wasn’t hurt. Theo still had his eyes on you. Not one word came from his mouth, they didn’t need too when his eyes said it all.

“We need your power to help us”. Liam asked, well more like demanded.

“That can wait Liam, I’m taking Theo home so he can process everything”. Reaching for his hand, you begun to walk.

“We don’t have time for that Y/N. Either he helps us or I send him back”. Liam held up the sword and Theo eyes wided. “Who’s in charge round here? Where’s Scott, where’s Stiles?”, Theo asked frantically.

Hayden spoke next, “You remember Stiles?”. Everyone had a look of surprise on their faces. “Why wouldn’t I remember Stiles?”, Theo added clearly confused as to what the issue was. Liam looked to be in thinking mode and added, “Maybe his useful after all”. Exchanging glances, it looked like Theo was sticking around.

And if you were being completely honest with yourself, you weren’t entirely sure how you felt about that.

After much debate between you and Liam, Theo eventually tried to absorb lightning. However it ended up being a failed attempt. You were standing alone with him in your living room, not sure if the silence was deafening or actually suitable for this moment. Theo had changed out of his dirty clothes, taken a shower and now was glancing around the room.

“Oh I’m fine by the way, thank you for your concern”. He almost felt like he was glaring at you. Classic Theo was resurfacing, but something about him still was different. You knew where this hostility was coming from. Things didn’t end well between the two of you, and that left a haunting feeling in you. Add to what Theo went through, he had every right to feel the way that he was.

Taking a seat on the couch, what do you say to the man who ended by being your first love? Who then watched that same person stand by and do nothing as he got dragged away to his own personal hell? “Please don’t tell me that the first thing we’re going to do now that you’re back is fight?”. Theo’s jaw clenched, “What did you think we’re going to do babygirl? Did you expect me to forget that the girl I love just stood and watched as I was literally dragged away, by my dead sister no less”

Shooting up from your seat, faster than lightning cracking the sky, you marched over to him. “Don’t you dare accuse me of not trying Theo. I tried for months to find a way to bring you back. I begged Kira’s mum to give me the sword, I pleaded with Scott to help me, I read every book, I searched endlessly for solutions. I even cried myself to sleep, because that’s how much I missed you!”.

Theo’s eyes slowly showed regret for his early outburst, he pulled you into a hug, one that you so desperately needed. Mumbling into his chest, “I don’t know what happened to you or what you went through. And I can’t even begin to imagine how horrible it was for you. But it was torture for me too Theo. Every time I wanted to tell you something, to call you to come over, to kiss you, or just to simply see your face I was forced to remember what happened…what I let happen. I’m so, so, sorry”.

When Theo saw several tears leave your eyes, he wiped them away and held on even tighter. “I don’t blame you babygirl, not even for one second”. Lifting your chin with ease, his eyes bore into yours. “Now, I spent so long in hell and all I want now is to see my girl smile”. Giving him what he asked for you broke out in a small, shy smile. Trying to hid the blush that formed on your cheeks after hearing him saying “my girl”, which you hadn’t heard for in so long. “Oh, and to also finally be able to do this”. His lips grazed over yours before he pulled you in for a much deeper one. Who needed fireworks when you had Theo?

Both of you needed this. Despite all the doubts you had about bringing Theo back, he wasn’t the same old hungry power Theo, you were sure of it. And maybe, just maybe this could be a fresh start for the two of you. He made mistakes, who hasn’t? But you were willing to try and make this work again, because first loves could never be forgotten.

This photo is probably my favorite image of Hayden ever. First, I just love black and white photography. There’s something so raw and edgy about a black and white photo to me. Secondly, I love the earthy, nature aspect to the background. The ivy leaves on the walls and the dirt gives the photo such an odd vintage look. Thirdly, Hayden just looks so handsome with his graceful, long arms and legs and melancholy expression. It’s such a lovely picture of him.
