having one of those down days

Antok has a dream in an alternate reality where he didn't die about his death. What he doesn't realize is that when he thrashes in his sleep so does his tail and he almost strangles poor Lance who just wanted to help.

Awwwwwwwwwwww D: my poor babies!

I’m going to switch this up a bit and say that antok almost DID die during that battle but he did survive the fight. So it’s a couple of days after he is out of the pod, probably a week, and he’s sleeping along side Lance when he starts to dream about his near death experience.

at first Lance just thinks that Antok is just one of those people who move around in their sleep and doesn’t really pay much mind to it until Antok starts to growl and there are tears sliding down his cheeks.

Mean while, Antok is dreaming about what could have happened, him actually dying and having to witness from his ‘ghost state’ Lance grieving over his death and having to watch Lance continue fighting even though he’s still broken hearted and a totally mess over Antok’s death, ultimately leading to Lance’s own death, and Antok having to watch through it all.

Lance tries to wake him up by taking ahold of Antok’s shoulders and shaking him, getting really worried when he keeps repeating Lance’s name over and over in such a desperate and sad tone, only for Antok to startle awake and reflexively go to attack whatever intruder tried to wake him up, still caught up in the memory of his dream he doesn’t realize that it’s Lance that he has pinned to the floor with his tail squeezing around his throat until Lance reaches up and wipes away a stray tear on Antok’s cheek, calling him by his pet name. Once Antok realizes that it’s Lance under him he immediately stops choking him, moving as far away as he can while Lance gets his breathing under control. Antok can see, even in the darkness of Lance’s room, the terrible bruising around Lance’s neck from his tail and is caught off guard by the waves of guilt that roll through him bc he did that to his boyfriend, to the one person that he wants to protect with his life and live for.

Lance goes up to Antok slowly, whispering reassurances to him while trying to get him to focus on something other than the bruising on his neck. He’s able to get into Antok’s lap and promises him that he’s not mad, that everything will be okay with them. Antok holds Lance close to him, biting his head into Lance’s shoulder as he lightly peppers kisses on Lance’s neck, scared that if he lets go for an instance that Lance will take back what he said, or worse his dream was actually real and Lance will be actually be dead in his arms. All the while, Lance comforts him, running his fingers through his hair strip, telling him everything is going to be okay, that he was there with him.

That’s one of the few times that Lance has ever seen Antok cry

How much does horror mom love animals? Do what degree do you go out of your way to just play and love the little critters? - from a fellow animal lover :3

Oh gosh, let me tell you, when you wipe a litter of newborn kitten butts every hour ½ around the clock, you have to love them! My fosters (and forever kitties) are spoiled as shit, and I proudly admit that I’m one of those weirdies who kisses each of their lil foreheads in a row before I leave the house. And also all day long because kitties deserve kisses.

Sadly I can’t foster dogs, mainly just because I don’t have the house-room to have dogs and kittens, and kittens are in the most dire need for fostering. But gawdamn if I don’t flop down on the floor to hug a doggo as I break out in hives whispering “worth ittttt”.

I have also been in a room with over 130 hedgehogs (from a professional breeder) and I told all of them that I loved them. So yeah, if I see an animal, I tell it that I love it, no exceptions.

Something happened 63 years ago that’s haunted me my entire life. I’ve never told anyone about it—until now

Story by reddit user  Sergeant_Darwin

It’s official: I’m an old man.

For the last couple years, I’ve comforted myself by saying I’m in my “early 70s,” but math is simple and unforgiving. Today is my 75th birthday, and God, the years do fly.

I’m not here for your well wishes; this is hardly a milestone I’m excited about. I’m glad to still be here, of course, but I find I have less and less to live for with every passing year. My bones ache, my kids live far away, and the other side of my bed has been empty for just over eight months now. In fact, once I cast my vote against that goddamned Trump this November, I may have nothing to live for at all.

blackbearmagic’s Crystal Hunting Guide

Introduction

Scientific Fact: Witches love crystals almost as much as they love jars.
Consumerism Fact: In many metaphysical shops, nice-looking crystals can be had for relatively cheap.
Ethical Fact: Many of those crystals are as cheap as they are because they are mined with no consideration for the damage done to the environment or the welfare of the humans collecting them.

So what’s a good, honest, ethically-minded witch to do, especially if he/she/they don’t have the money to afford crystals that were mined sustainably and responsibly, or the time to research which sellers obtain their wares from ethical mines?

Find their own.

I’ve been crystal hunting all my life, but only within the last year have I started doing it seriously. I’ve walked away from a creeking expedition with slabs of smoky quartz the size of my palm or calcite hunks bigger than my fist, and I personally think creek-crystal energy is much more vibrant and easy to work with; by comparison, the crystal points I’ve bought from metaphysical shops feel… inert, lifeless.

So let’s get straight into it!

What You’ll Need

  • a good-sized creek or stream with lots of gravel spits along its length
  • offerings to the spirit of the creek, if appropriate to your personal practice
  • bug spray, sunscreen, snacks, water, and anything else you’d normally bring on a hike
  • your trusty adventurer’s Bag of Holding
  • your sweet self

Now let’s talk details.

When I say “gravel spits”, this is what I’m referring to:

These tumbles of stone are going to be where you’ll find your treasures, and the size of the stones themselves actually tells you what size of crystal you might find: When the conditions are right (ie, during a flood), the water flowing through that portion of the creek is capable of lifting and moving rocks of the size you see there now.

In my experience, the crystal specimens you’ll find are typically half or one-third the size of the average rock on the spit. They’re usually larger than the smallest rocks, but much smaller than the largest rocks. Not always, though–I have found specimens larger. (See the introduction.)

Regarding offerings, if that’s part of your path, you’ll want to make sure it’s nothing that will harm the local wildlife or damage the ecosystem in any way. My personal go-to is water, ideally water from a bottle I haven’t drunk from yet.

In the same vein as offerings, I’ve had great success in making a sort of bargain with the spirit of the place: That in return for treasures, I will pick up and remove any litter I find in the area. It is, of course, always a good idea to remove any litter you see when you’re out in nature, but it doesn’t hurt to point out to the spirit of the place that it’s something you’re doing for it. Bring along a trash bag to help collect it.

Lastly, with regards to your bag, I would advise something with two shoulder straps. Rocks are heavy.

What You’ll Do

Once you’ve hiked to your creek and found a gravel spit with lots of good-sized rocks, it’s time to start looking. There’s two main approaches I’ve found that work well, and I tend to use both.

The first is a broad sweep. This one works best if you’ve got good lighting on the rocks. All you do is stand in one spot and sway side to side slightly while looking over the gravel, looking for anything that glints, shines, or otherwise catches the light shining on it. If you see something, investigate it. Repeat.

The second is the more detailed search. Get down on the ground–whether that means kneeling, crouching, laying on your belly, I don’t care–and go over each rock one by one. Use your eyes and use your hands. I imagine this method is probably going to be unpleasant for a lot of you, but honestly, it’s like crack to me.

Once you’ve combed over the current gravel spit as thoroughly as you please, pack up and move on to the next. Continue for as long as you like, or until you feel it’s time to go. Just remember that as far out as you go is how far you’ll have to walk back!

Advice and Warnings

Tell someone where you’re going and when you expect to be back. If you godsforbid go missing, they’ll be able to give the police an idea of where to start searching for your poor, lost ass.

Keep a charged cell phone with you at all times.

If you see something or someone iffy, do your best avoid it. Sometimes there are creepy people in the woods, and sometimes they do creepy things. Don’t get involved.

Make sure you’re not trespassing on private property. All of the creeks I hike on are on public land. If you’re in a state park or other protected environmental area, don’t go off the trail–you could cause damage to a fragile ecosystem.

Following the creek is a good way to get out and back without losing your way.  Don’t stray too far from it if you’re in unfamiliar territory.

The best times of year to go hunting–assuming Northern Hemisphere, a temperate climate and deciduous forests around the creek–are the spring and summer. In the autumn, you’ll have to clear fallen leaves off of the gravel before you can look, and winter is too cold.

The best time of day is the morning, when the sun angle is lower and is more likely to glint off of shiny rocks.

You’ll have your best luck the day after heavy rain. Rain will swell the stream and shift the stones around, and could uncover new treasures!

Inspect anything that looks even remotely worthwhile. You’ll find a lot of duds, sure, but that will help train your brain to tune out what you don’t care about finding.

“What Can I Find?”

Exactly what sort of minerals and crystals you’ll find is highly variable. All minerals are not equally distributed across the planet, because many of them require very different conditions to form and the crust composition varies slightly from place to place. However, there are some stones that are pretty common all over the Earth, so no matter where you go hunting, you’re likely to find them.

Of course, for more specific identifications, please consult the internet, a book on mineralogy, or your local rockhounding club.

Quartz

The chemical formula of quartz is SiO2, or silicon dioxide. Silicon and oxygen are, by mass, the two most abundant elements in Earth’s crust; around 90% of it is composed of silicate minerals like quartz. Ever find a pretty, sparkly, mostly-clear rock on the ground? It was probably quartz.

Quartz comes in a mind-boggling array of colors, from smoky quartz so dark it’s practically opaque to purple-and-orange ametrine to the brilliant clear of a Herkimer diamond (yup, not actually diamonds) but all of these varieties are still quartz. In my region of North America, clear and smoky quartz seem to be the most plentiful.

Calcite

Calcite is calcium carbonate, CaCO3. Like quartz, it is made of some of the Earth’s most abundant crustal elements (in this case, calcium and oxygen) and comes in a stunning array of colors. In my creeks, I’ve found calcite in yellow, orange, white, and even blue and red.

The biggest giveaway for rough calcite is its texture. If you pick up a rock and it feels like someone rubbed wax all over it, you’ve probably got yourself a calcite specimen.

Feldspar

Feldspar is one of the most abundant minerals in the crust, alongside quartz. It’s also a silicate, and it frequently finds its way into other minerals, such as granite.

What sets feldspar apart from the other two minerals I’ve mentioned here is its fracture habit: It naturally fractures along cleavage planes which intersect at 90-degree angles. It doesn’t shatter–it shears. If you find a rock with a smooth face that looks like a polished stone countertop, it’s probably feldspar.

“But Bear, I Want Crystal Points!”

Oh. Yeah.

You can find those too.

Every one of those pictures is of quartz points that I have found in my area. (In fact, they’re actually all from the same crystal-hunting hike, and represent only about a third of the specimens I found that day!) As you can see, they aren’t all perfect–and I have plenty of others that are, like, three facets and no point–but they’re all beautiful, and some of them really sing, if you know what I mean.

Conclusion

Finding your own crystals can be pretty simple, when you get down to it. It can be a lot of fun to get down and dirty, and is a great way to get yourself out in nature for a while. And, of course, you can rest assured that your crystals were gathered in a sustainable, respectful, ethical manner–assuming you took care of yourself and the environment while finding them!

Best of luck! –Bear

TRUST YOUR OBSESSIONS

I remember Alan Moore in the late 1980s telling me about a documentary he’d seen on TV about Jack the ripper. And then, over the course of the next few months, telling me about Jack the Ripper books he’d read. By the point where he was asking me to go and find rare and forgotten biographies of possible Ripper suspects at the British Museum, I though it quite possible that a Jack the Ripper comic would be in the offing. From Hell didn’t start with Alan going, “I wonder what I’ll write about today.” It started as an obsession.

Trust your obsessions. This is one I learned more or less accidentally. People sometimes ask whether the research or the idea for the story comes first for me. And I tell them, normally the first thing that turns up is the obsession: for example, all of a sudden I notice that I’m reading nothing but English 17th century metaphysical verse. And I know it’ll show up somewhere—whether I’ll name a character after one of those poets, or use that time period, or use the poetry, I have no idea. But I know one day it’ll be there waiting for me.

You don’t always use your obsessions. Sometimes you stick them onto the compost heap in the back of your head, where the rot down, and attach to other things, and get half-forgotten, and will, one day, turn into something completely usable.

Go where your obsessions take you. Write the things you must. Draw the things you must. Your obsessions may not always take you to commercial places, or apparently commercial places. But trust them.

Keith says he’s naturally untrusting and pushes people away before they reject him, so he puts some walls up as a barrier to his emotions.

But he went out of his way that day when he went to help Lance over Shiro, someone who he considers to be as close as family, and clearly took down those walls and not just for anyone but Lance, this boy who’s had this one sided rivalry and always targeted him since day one

No matter what, this moment was super important to him, the moment when he finally connected with someone and they accepted him. But since he put so much of his trust in Lance, he let his guard down and then what happened?

He was rejected, again.

But even so, Lance was still the first person that he managed to break down his walls for, so no matter what, he will always have a special place in his heart for him even if it probably hurts to face it.

That’s why Lance is the one he listens to and accepts the most when Shiro isn’t around

That’s why Lance is his stability

That’s why Keith is able to loosen up so much around him

And that’s why he still sees him as someone special

AND DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE AMOUNT OF BEAUTIFUL MATURING LANCE HAS DONE WITH HIM AND HOW HE NO LONGER SEES HIS AS A RIVAL, BUT SOMEONE HE CAN GO TO WHEN HE’S FEELING CONFLICTED AND IS THE FIRST ONE TO STEP UP AND CARE FOR HIM WHEN IT MATTERS. THEY ARE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER OK IM TIRED OF THIS

BTS Reaction ; Falling For You While Being in A Relationship

Requested by Anonymous, “Hello, I love your blog so much! You’re such a talented writer! Can I request a reaction to BTS falling for one of their friends (who is the reader/OC) while they have a girlfriend? Sorry if my english is weird. Thank you and I love you! 💖💖💖”

Note; jdfks YOUR ENGLISH IS FINE AND I LOVE YOU TOO!

Jin ➳ It’s been awhile since he realized he had feelings for you and he was terrified. He knew he had to choose one, his best friend or his significant other — but it was hard for him, too afraid to confront his girlfriend and leave a mess he’d rather not clean up. He loves you, spending every passing day with you and even cancelling meet ups with his girlfriend like she was nothing but a nuissance. His phone always kept ringing with texts, and when he finally got tired of it one day as he forced the device to slumber when you both went out to eat, you finally ask him about it. “Is it your girlfriend calling?” You ask with a teasing smile as he blows on his steaming soup.

“Nah,” he whispers, sliding the phone into his pocket, “it’s no one important.”

Suga ➳ The moment Yoongi realized he was falling for you, he had ended it with his girlfriend right then and there. He wasn’t going to lead someone on when his heart belonged to someone else, and even if you didn’t know about his feelings — he didn’t care in the slightest. He invited you to the studio and dorms plenty of times, and he would be smiling more often, teasing you and just basking in the beauties of you. It was one day when you two were in the studio alone, that you finally notice his gaze burning holes into your soul. “What?” You snap, annoyed, and he simply sways his arms nervously as he smiles admiringly.

“I love you.”

J-Hope ➳ It was just a simple crush that prolonged as wine overfilled his glass and intoxicated him, permanately drunk on you. Being with you made him happy, but he was way too afraid to leave his girlfriend due to the aftermath — and the cruel reality that you may never return his feelings had obsidian ink dripping into half of his heart. He always left you at abrupt times, never trusting himself around you as his body begged to touch yours, and when he got up to calm his flushed cheeks and fluttering heart, you raised an eyebrow, thinking he was sick. “Are you okay?” The question drips from your lips and freezes him, quickly feigning a smile and refusing to stare you in the eyes.

“Yep.” Hell no.

RapMonster ➳ “So how is she?”

And the question alone makes his stomach drop. How is she? His girlfriend? He didn’t know, his eyes only staring into yours that seemed to calm him many of times, making him feel at ease as if they were home — and before he can even realize what he says, the next words casually leave his vocal chords. “Broken.”

“What?” You ask, eyebrows knitting together as you tilt your head to the side in confusion.

“(y/n), I broke up with her a while back,” he confesses, because it is true, he just never deemed it necessary to let others know, “because..I realized I was in love with you.”

Jimin ➳ He couldn’t help himself, and he was even disgusted with himself. His feelings bloomed with each passing day, the floret growing bigger and stronger and refusing to wilt. He is way too nice to leave his girlfriend even though he knew all he felt was attraction towards her, but with you..he is in love with you. Deeply. “Like the stars, you’re beautiful.” He says as you both sit in the back of his truck during the night, and immediately, you become flustered.

“Oh shut up, you ass,” you laugh, pushing his shoulder but he quickly grabs your hand.

“I’m being honest,” a genuine smile forms on his lips as he looks into your eyes, “how do you look so beautiful all the time?”

VI’m traditional, is his excuse to everything, especially to leaving his girlfriend he was way too afraid to confront like a man and leave. His feelings for you were obvious, his replies to you becoming even shier and shorter, rectangular smiles nearly ripping the skin on his cheeks as he would playfully try to put his hands on you as they ached to feel the sparks he felt whenever they touched your warm skin. He was even more playful, and one day when you two fall off the couch of the dark living room, falling into his chest while becoming a giggling mess from his tickle attack — you try to get up after having calmed down only for his arms to instantly wrap tightly around the small of your back and pull you flush against his chest.

“Just a little longer,” his deep voice breathes, “please.”

Jungkook ➳ “You’re not my boyfriend.”

And he stiffens as those words, even if you giggled them, leave your mouth as they used his heart like a punching bag. You’re not my boyfriend. He sits there, slumping into the couch he sits on defeatedly as your eyes settle on Taehyung from across the party, telling him that you were going to spend time with the older man and Jungkook knew where this was going. He was jealous, and he didn’t want you to go, grabbing your arm with such force to keep you seated beside him even if his girlfriend was watching you two from afar. But you were right, he wasn’t yours, you weren’t his and you never will be.

And regretfully, he stares into his lap as he whispers, “I wish I was.”

It’s not the dark nights that make me lonely, or even cold and gloomy winter

It’s the part of the day, when the sun is at its brightest and warmest, that I feel cold and empty loneliness

It’s those moments I’m surrounded by people that love me, but none of them are you

The long drives on a cool autumn day to my favorite places, or a warm summer night with the windows down driving around town

Every moment that I have to spend without you is when I’m at my worst

I fake a smile, put on a good show so no one knows

But inside I’m screaming for you to hold me again

The witty banter, and half-hearted laughing, all a cover for the deep dark secrets I hide within

The false courage facade, when I’m not even brave enough to tell you how my stomach is in knots whenever you’re near

It all comes crumbling down on my chest and sits there, heavier every second I go without your hand in mine

Every single day is a struggle, but nevertheless I persist, because I hold onto the moment I get to feel your kiss on my lips

It’s what keeps me going

The hope of one last chance to make everything right in my world once again

It’s not the darkness, the light, or even the night

The cold hard truth is everything makes me feel alone, and only your heart can make it right.

Portugal is on fire... again

For my followers who want to know here’s what’s going on in my country:

  • As of this Monday, 7 pm: 36 dead, one of them a pregnant 19 year-old girl and another a month old baby; 7 people are missing, 55 are injured and 15 of those are in critical state;
  • Over 300 fires started this weekend in our small country;
  • This has been declared the worst day of the year in wildfires in our country (and if you remember, in June we had the biggest tragedy in human lives due to wildfires too);
  • Schools have been closed down all over the county, classes cancelled, people aren’t able to go to work because many roads are closed;
  • It was expected rain but so far we haven’t been lucky;
  • It’s October 16 and yet we’ve been dealing with temperatures of over 30ºC (hopefully it’s going down soon);
  • It’s believed that most of those fires were started by humans and worsened by unclean forests, high temperatures, no rain and very strong winds;
  • 46 fires are still going, 3611 people are on the field;
  • People are gathering in the center of their towns, escaping the fires and looking for shelter after losing everything;
  • 20 active fires and 20 of the mortal victims are from my district so I’m currently keeping watch along with everyone in my village because a fire is closing in on us. If you could spread this I’d appreciate it. Firefighters are exhausted, we don’t have enough means to put down all these fires. If the rain doesn’t come to help we might need help from other countries so we need to spread the news;
  • EDIT: injured is now 63, 16 in critical state.

a concept:

  • early in the fifth season, jake proposes to amy. charles cries. amy and jake have a perfect wedding (aside from doug judy showing up out of nowhere and giving a toast). the show gets renewed for a sixth season.
  • amy gets pregnant. charles nearly has a heart attack when he’s told.
  • jake worries that he’ll be a terrible father because he didn’t exactly have the best role model growing up. and it’s only when they’re lying in bed and his hand is resting on her stomach like always, and suddenly he feels something against his palm, and it’s the baby?? kicking??? and it’s the most precious thing to ever exist and jake decides he’s going to be the best dad ever.
  • amy gives birth to the cutest, most well-loved little girl in the entire world. jake faints. terry tears up because his work-kids are actually having kids. captain holt chokes up when he’s holding his god-child in his arms.
  • amy doesn’t want to actually go on maternity leave because she has things to do, damnit. but when jake stays home with baby ella while she goes in, amy has a panic attack and as it turns out, a captain can grant both maternity and paternity leave (the 99th precinct loses its best two detectives for about a month).
  • she won’t admit it, but rosa has a huge soft spot for ella, and one day babysits while jake and amy have to track down a perp (and very quietly, gruffly, claims that this is the most beautiful baby to ever exist).
  • jake ends up  getting one of those baby carriers so now he wears the baby on his chest at every opportunity.
  • the show gets nine total seasons because anything less would be a crime.

Everyone is born with a soul mark somewhere on their body. Their soulmate has the same mark. New technology has been developed that can remove the mark, but at great cost.

The voices resonating within the small living room blurred together into white noise and faded into the aether, leaving the abrupt thud of your heart stopping as the only audible sound. The walls felt like they were crumbling around you, and the velvet couch you sat on seemed like it was swallowing you into its depths, encasing you in a suffocating darkness. The pain you had suppressed for so long came flooding back, spreading through your every nerve. You felt like your chest had imploded and your bones were caving in. Your entire body had shut down momentarily as Sehun’s last few words echoed through the husk of your skull.

“I’m going to get my soul mark removed.”

There were muffled voices, a few louder than the others, but you couldn’t decipher what was being said. Your brain - consumed by grief - didn’t allow for it. Someone had placed their hand on your arm to try and shake you out of your stupor, but you could barely feel the contact through your numb skin.

But then, his voice called your name, penetrating through the void. That one familiar voice that for so long had brought you happiness and sweet memories, but now, it tore your very being apart. The words that voice had spoken had severed the few ties to him you had left. But still, his voice had so much power and influence over you, and it finally brought you out of your trance. You blinked a few times, and suddenly, you were returned to reality.

This wasn’t a dream.

The One Where Everybody Finds Out

this took me about five hours appreciate this (based on the Friends episode obviously)

Hermione and Pansy were sitting at the bay window talking about unimportant things. The feud between the Gryffindor and Slytherin ceased to exist after the war and especially after the eighth years got stuck in one space together. This happened, of course, when they found there was not enough room for the eighth years in their respective common rooms (though Hermione always had the sneaking suspicion that Professor McGonagall just wanted more inter-house unity).

Their meaningless conversation suddenly stops when Hermione gets up to retrieve a book she left by the fireplace. Pansy stared out across the quidditch pitch where she noticed two boys get off their brooms. She immediately recognized them as Harry and Draco. “Hey, look it’s Harry and Draco.” She called out to Hermione. They were extremely close, but Pansy blamed that on the distance she was looking at them from. She saw Harry slither his arm around Draco and pull him closer so their chests were touching. “Ahh!” Pansy exclaimed at the action.

“What?” Hermione ran back, a worried expression settled on her face.

“Ahh! Harry and Draco! Harry and Draco!” She pointed in their direction where Harry had just looked around the field before snogging Draco vigorously. “Oh my eyes!” She looked away as if she just saw something purely revolting. “My eyes!”

Hermione attempted to calm her down by yelling over her. “No Pansy, it’s okay! It’s okay!”

“They’re kissing!” She yelled, still in a state of panic.

“I know! I know!” Hermione exclaimed, yelling louder so that Pansy would hear her.

“You know!” She yelled back, incredulously.

“Yes, I know! And Ron knows, but no one else does so you have to stop screaming!” Hermione recalled the day when she opened one of Harry’s letters by mistake. It was the most horrible thing she’d ever read in her life and she didn’t dare repeat those words to anyone. That is until Ron gave hints that he knew what was going on, so Hermione being Hermione, forced the truth out of her boyfriend and found out that he had caught them snogging in their shared dorm room a while back. Neither of them have spoken about the two boys being in a relationship since.

Just then Neville walked through the entrance to the empty common room. “Hey, what’s going on?” Both girls screamed in surprise, but Hermione turned it into joyus yelping while Pansy stood behind her with a look of shock still on her face.

Hermione jumped around Neville so that he had to turned and was no longer facing the window where, as Pansy looked back, the two boys were still trying to suck each others faces off. “Nothing! We’re just so happy that exams are over!”

Neville’s face softened now that he was assured that there was no danger present. “Yeah, we’re all pretty hap-” But as he turned to meet Pansy, she mimicked the jumpy excitement of Hermione so that he was, again, facing away from the window.

Both girls were jumping up and down and yelping in excitement until they were sure their friends had finished their make out session. They stopped abruptly and were thankful that no one else walked into the common room while they were in that state of chaos. The girls sat back down at the bay window, which left a confused Neville standing in the middle of the room.

Once they common room was empty again, Pansy launched into questions about the couple. “So you mean all those times that Draco and Harry said they were studying or when Draco said he was owling a friend from Beauxbatons?”

Hermione nodded and sipped the tea that she conjured for the both of them. “Yup. Doing it and writing dirty letters to each other.” Hermione shuddered at the thought of the letter she read that led to her discovery of their relationship.

“I can’t believe it!” She exclaimed for what seemed the thousandth time today. “I think it’s great… for Harry.” She took a sip of her tea. “Draco might be able to do better.” Pansy stated honestly. They heard the common room door opened and whipped their heads around only to see Ron walk in. They both let out breaths of relief as Hermione called him over.

“Guess what? Pansy just found out about Draco and Harry.”

Ron’s eyes widened. “You mean how they’re friends and nothing more?” His voice was laced with panic.

Hermione paused of a moment while she drew in a breath. Sometimes she found Ron’s slowness on the uptake endearing, however sometimes it tested her patience. “No, Ron she knows. They were on the Quidditch pitch and she saw them snogging through the window.”

Ron’s face relaxed, which told Hermione that he understood the situation.

“Okay wait,” Pansy interrupted. “So they know that you know,” She pointed at Ron. “but they don’t know that Hermione knows?”

He looked confused by the phrasing of the question and had to think for a moment before answering. “Yes, but none of that matters now. Now enough of us know that we could just tell them that we know, and all the lying and the secrets will finally be over!” He said happily.

Pansy interrupted again, this time a smirk playing on her lips. “Or we could not tell them and have a little fun of our own.” Hermione scrunched up her face in confusion and Ron’s face fell into a deep frown. “You know, every time they say they’re going to study you could give them some of your favourite books to read so you’ll have someone to discuss it with.”

Hermione’s face lit up. “Oh! I would enjoy that!”

“No, wait wait, you know what would be even more fun?” Ron asked with mock interest. “Telling them.” He switched his tone to a serious one.

Hermione considered this for a moment. “Yeah, no. I wanna do Pansy’s thing.”

Ron started to protest, but Pansy spoke up. “You don’t have to do anything. Just don’t tell them that we know.”

“No!” Ron yelled desperately. “I can’t take anymore secrets! I got your secrets. I got their secrets. I got secrets of my own, you know.”

Hermione rolled her eyes. “You don’t have any secrets.”

“Oh yeah?” Ron straightened up, looking offended. “Well, you don’t know about Marvin, my secret sweets stash.” He looked satisfied for only a seconded until the realization hit him and his face glowed as red as his hair.

Pansy and Hermione stared at him, weird looks on both their faces. Hermione turned back to face Pansy and cleared her throat. “So… How- how are we gonna mess with them.”

“Well, you would use your position as the best friend obviously.” They heard Ron gasp in protest, Pansy ignored him and went on. “And I would use the strongest tool at my disposal, my charming good looks and elegance.” Hermione nodded her head in agreement. Ron looked like he had given up all hope.

“Hello, children.” Harry greeted as he waltzed up to them. Hermione gave Ron a wary look. They two girls greeted him back cheerfully while Ron did so in a more morose way.

Pansy smirked at Hermione and Ron. “Watch and learn.” She said while Harry was still out of earshot. She stood up rather seductively and made her way over to him.

“Hey.” She said and looked him up and down. “Wow, that Quidditch uniform looks great on you.”

“Really?” Harry asked, confusion struck his features.

“Yeah, the material looks so soft.” She laid a hand on Harry’s shoulder and trailed it down his arm like she saw Draco do earlier. “Oh, hello, Mr. Bicep.” She bat her eyelashes innocently. “Have you been working out?” She twirled her hair on her finger.

Harry looked uncomfortable. “Well, you know… Quidditch.” Pansy launched into a fit of giggles and shoved him lightly. “Are you okay?”

She stopped giggling and smiled softly at him. “Well, if you really wanna know…” Pansy looked down at the floor, shyly. “Oh, I can’t tell you this.”

“I know we haven’t known each other long, but you can tell me anything. We’re friends now.” He looked concerned.

Bloody Gryffindors. “Actually, you’re the one person I can’t tell this to and the one person I want to the most.” The smile fell off her face gradually until she looked rather serious.

“What’s going on?” He asked, his face turning from uncomfortable to worried.

Pansy hesitated. “I think it’s just I haven’t been with a guy for so long and you know how sometimes you’re looking for something and you don’t even see that it’s right there in front of you, holding a broom-” Pansy stopped abruptly as Harry looked down at his broom and his eyes widened. “Oh no, have I said too much?” She put a hand over her mouth. Hermione and Ron were mesmerised by Pansy’s performance. Hermione made a mental note to compliment her on it later.

Pansy removed the hand from her mouth and smiled shyly. “Just something to think about. I know I will.” She said seductively and walked out of the common room. Harry stood there, he looked frantically at Hermione and Ron for some sort of explanation, but Hermione just shrugged and Ron seemed to be frowning at the floor.

Night fell upon the grounds and Harry and Draco were cuddled up in whichever bed they chose to sleep in that night, Draco was rubbing his hand gently over Harry’s chest and admiring him. “You are so cute. How did you get to be so cute?” Draco asked.

“Well, my grandfather created beauty potions as you know,” Harry relished the little confused tilt of the head Draco gave before continuing. “And my grandmother was, actually, a tiny little bowtruckle.”

Draco chuckled lightly. “Okay, now you’re even cuter.” He moved the hand up to Harry’s cheek and kissed him sweetly.

“That is a popular opinion today, I must say.”

The smile on Draco’s face fell slightly. “What?”

“The weirdest thing happened in the common room today, I think- I think Pansy was hitting on me.”

Draco laughed skeptically. “What are you talking about?”

“I’m telling you, I think Pansy thinks I’m foxy.” He told him.

Draco rolled his eyes at his choice of words. “It’s not possible.” Harry looked incredibly offended. “That’s nothing on you, it’s just Pansy is the gayest person to walk this earth. She’s probably gayer than me!” He reassured Harry as he began to rub his chest again. Harry’s expression softened. “I just think you misunderstood her.”

Harry squirmed so that he was propped up on his elbows. “I didn’t misunderstand I means she touched my bicep, for Merlin’s sake!”

Draco quirked an eyebrow and squeezed his upper arm. “This bicep?” He teased.

“Well, it’s not flexed right now.” He rolled his eyes. Draco grinned and kissed him again before cuddling up at his side and falling asleep.

The sun rose on another gorgeous Saturday. Draco just knew he wanted to spend it with Harry. He still had one more N.E.W.T. exam to take. History of Magic which no one, not even Hermione, took again. He was pretty confident that he knew everything, yet it was the perfect excuse to get away from their group of friends.

He walked out of their dorm and spotted Hermione, Pansy, and Harry all sitting by the fireplace. “Hey, Draco. What are you doing today? Wanna come walk around the lake with us?” Pansy asked once she saw him.

“Actually I was gonna study, I got History of Magic on Monday.” Draco said smoothly. Pansy and Hermione exchanged knowing looks. Draco turned to his secret boyfriend. “Harry, wanna do it with me?

“Yeah. I’ll do it with you.” He replied all too quickly.

Hermione knew that Harry hadn’t taken History of Magic since fifth year, but didn’t comment. Instead she pulled out a book that she had purchased a while back for some light reading. “Oh here. This should help you. Plus we can discuss it later.” Hermione said enthusiastically. Draco turned around nervously and was relieved to see that he had already read that book cover to cover. He told Hermione this and she proceeded to pull out yet another book. Draco wasn’t so lucky this time. He had never even heard of this book, where did Hermione find it? Draco took the book reluctantly.

Hermione stood up and gestured for Pansy to do that same. “Well, we’re gonna go. Bye.” She said as she headed for the the door.

“Bye, Harry. I miss you already.” Pansy whispered in his ear and squeezed his bum before following Hermione out the door.

Harry gaped at her and didn’t speak until the girls left. He turned to Draco. “Did you see that with the inappropriate and the pinching?”

Draco looked quizzically at the door and then at Harry. “Actually I did.”

“So now do you believe she’s attracted to me?” He asked, a bit of triumph leaked through his voice.

Draco thought for a second and gasped. “Merlin, she knows about us!” Harry’s eyes widened. “Pansy knows and she’s just trying to freak us out. That’s the only explanation for it.”

Harry’s look of triumph quickly wiped off his face. “B- but what about my pinchable bum and my bulging biceps?” He asked as he started rubbing his upper arm. Harry looked up after a second of doing so, feeling no muscle there. “She knows!”

Harry and Draco barged into Ron’s room, knowing he’d be the only one in there seeing as it was passed noon. “Ron.” Harry yelled. The ginger jumped awake and fell out of his bed. He looked up at the two boys from the floor, looking quite disoriented before getting up and sitting on the edge of his bed. “Yeah?”

“Pansy knows about us.” He told him.

“Well, I didn’t tell them.” He said defensively.

“Them? Who’s them?” Draco asked frantically.

“Uh, Pansy and… Ron.”

“Ronald?” Draco asked again, this time more threatening.

Ron sighed. “And Hermione.” Harry and Draco jaws dropped. “I would’ve told you, but they made me promise not to tell.” Harry looked at him sadly. “I’m sorry.” He apologised sincerely. “But, hey, it’s over now right? ‘Cause you can tell them you know they know, and I can go back to knowing absolutely nothing!” He smiled brightly.

“Unless-” Draco started, a devilish smirk starting to form on his face.

“No! Not unless! This has to end now!” He pleaded.

Draco ignored him. “They think they are so slick messing with us. But see, they don’t know that we know that they know.” The smirk was now prominent on his face. Ron looked as confused as ever, but Harry seemed to understand what he was getting at.

“Ah, yes.” He said. “The messers become the messees!” Ron slumped back down into his bed and sighed hopelessly into his pillow.

By four in the evening, Draco and Harry had devised and master plan. Harry sent Pansy an owl telling her to meet him in one of the empty classrooms after dinner.

“Hello, you.” She greeted him in a sultry voice and leaned against the door frame, running her hands through her hair.

Harry was prepared this time. “Hello, Pansy. I’ve been thinking about you all day.”

Pansy seemed to be taken aback by this because her sexual composure dropped. “Huh?”

Harry moved closer. “You know that thing you said before. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued.”

“Really?” Her face was now contorted with confusion.

“Listen, why do you come by my dorm tonight? I’ll let you feel my bicep… and maybe more.” He winked.

Her face stricken with shock. “I’ll have to get back to you on that. Okay bye.” She said as she ran away. Harry felt a bit of pride and grinned lightly to himself.

Pansy ran back to the common room, which was thankfully close to the room she was just in and empty. “Merlin’s beard he wants me to come over and feel his bicep and more!” She yelled, looking disgusted.

Hermione stood up at once. “Are you kidding? I cannot believe he would do that to Dra-” She stopped mid sentence and turned around, pointing an accusing finger at Ron who was trying his best not to look guilty. “Ronald, do they know that we know?” She asked menacingly.

Ron shook his head. “No.” His voice quavered.

“Ronald?” She asked sternly, sounding a bit like Mrs. Weasley.

He immediately gave in. “They know you know.”

Hermione groaned angrily. “I knew it! Ugh, I cannot believe those two.” She crossed her arms.

Pansy was equally as angry. “They thought that they could mess with us? They’re trying to mess with us?” She thought for a second. “Wait a minute. They don’t know that we know they know we know.” Ron shook his head, he was on the verge of tears, but Hermione nodded approvingly. “Ron, you can’t say anything!”

“Couldn’t if I wanted to.” He replied sardonically.

“Okay, if he wants a date, he’s gonna get a date!” Pansy said and pulled out a spare piece of parchment. “Be sexy.” Hermione advised. Pansy rolled her eyes. “Please.”

While Hermione and Pansy were strategizing, Draco and Harry were celebrating in their room. “She looked panicked! They’re totally gonna back down.” Said Harry after he told him what happened with Pansy. Draco pulled Harry closer and they started snogging, only breaking when they heard pinging at the window. They saw a brown tawny owl with a scroll attached to it’s leg. Harry opened the window to let the bird in. It flew onto his desk and stuck out it’s leg for Harry. When he unravelled it he groaned. “It’s from Pansy.”

Harry,

I’d love to come by tonight. Shall we say around seven?

Harry waited for some instructions. Draco shook his head. “Write back. Say yes.” Harry looked at him like he was mad, but he took no notice of this as he shoved a quill and an ink bottle into his hand. Harry quickly scribbled a “yes” and sent the owl on it’s way. He came back a couple of minutes later with another response.

Harry read it out loud Good. I’m really looking forward to you and me having sexual intercourse. Harry yelped and threw the parchment on the floor. “It’s okay. Relax.” Draco put a calming hand on Harry’s shoulder and they started to plan for every possible scenario.

It was nearing seven and the girls (plus Ron) were getting ready in Pansy and Hermione’s shared dorm. “Show time!” Hermione said excitedly when Pansy exited the bathroom. She was wearing a tight blouse that had buttons all the way up, some of them remained unbuttoned so a fair about of cleavage was showing. She was also wearing a particularly short skirt with thigh high socks and cute little boots that stopped just above her ankles.

“Hermione, can you conjure up some Firewhiskey and glasses?” Hermione complied and Pansy grabbed them from the air. Ron rolled his eyes and slumped in Hermione’s desk chair as the girls left the room.

“It’ll be great.” Draco said, rapidly fixing Harry’s shirt collar. “You just make her think you wanna have sex with her. It’ll totally freak her out.” He smoothed out the shoulders of Harry’s shirt.

“How far am I going to have to go with her?” Harry asked, a little hesitant about the plan.

Draco waved him off, moving his attention to his hair, which he tried to make lay flat. “Relax.” He told him. “She’s gonna give in way before you do.”

“How do you know?” He asked sporadically.

“Because you’re on my team.” He answered as he finished fixing Harry up. “And my team always wins.” He sounded a bit insane, but had that glint of determination in his eyes which Harry always loved to see.

Still, Harry was skeptical. “At this?”

Draco rolled his eyes. “Just go get some!” He pointed to the door and kissed him roughly, jumping apart when they heard a knock at the door. Draco ran into the bathroom and closed the door.

Just before she knocked, Pansy and Hermione had a talk outside Harry’s room. “Okay, I’m going to put an amplifying charm so I can listen in.” Pansy nodded. To be honest it reassured her to know that Hermione was listening to their conversation. She turned around to knock. “Wait,” Hermione turned her around and unbuttoned another button on her shirt. She went to unbutton another one, but Pansy stopped her.

“Don’t give away the farm.” Hermione nodded and cast the charm. She stood up against the wall so she wouldn’t be seen when Harry opened the door.

Harry gave a nervous sigh and composed himself before pulling the door open. “Pansy.” He said charmingly.

“Harry.” She replied in the same tone.

“Come on in.” He gestured for her to enter and she did so.

“I brought some Firewhiskey. Would you like some?” She held up the bottle and glasses in her hands. Harry nodded. Pansy impressively levitated the glasses and bottle, tipping the liquid into them with her wand. She floated one over to Harry, one to herself, and set the bottle on a desk nearby. “So here we are. Nervous?”

“Me? No. You?” He asked, hoping she’d break then and there so he didn’t have to go through with this. He knew Pansy long enough now to know that that dream was quite far fetched.

“No. I want this to happen.” She replied.

“So do I.” They clinked glasses and downed the entire contents of them, both parties needing some extra strength for the night ahead. “I am going to put on some music.” He flicked his wand and Celestina Warbeck played softly in the background.

“Maybe I’ll dance for you.” Pansy replied. She started swaying her hips in a suggestive way and Harry became aware of her attire for the first time. A blush creeped up his neck. The thanked Merlin for his brown skin at this moment.

She danced up to him and stuck out her chest so abruptly that Harry jumped. He quickly recovered by telling her she looked good. Pansy thanked him. “You know, when you say things like that it makes me wanna rip that shirt right off.”

“Why don’t we move this into the bedroom?” He smirked, knowing she’d back down. The shocked look on her face told her he was right.

“Really?”

“Oh, do you not want to?” He said slyly.

“No, no.” Harry smirked. “First I wanna take off all my clothes and have you rub lotion on me.” She was the one who smirked this time.

Harry’s voice quavered. “That would be nice. I’ll go get the lotion.” He practically ran to the bathroom once he was out of Pansy’s sight. Draco jumped back, his ear was no doubt pressed to the door only moments later. “This is getting completely out of hand, okay? She wants me to put lotion on her!” He whisper shouted.

Draco put his hands out to stop his boyfriend. “She’s bluffing!”

“Look, she’s not backing down! She went like this!” He mimicked the dance move Pansy did where she stuck out her chest, making Draco jump as he did.

Pansy was also talking to Hermione in the hallway. “He’s not backing down. He went to get lotion.” She told her, more calmly than Harry telling Draco.

“Aww man. Aren’t you guys done yet?” They heard the familiar voice of Ron say behind them. “I wanna talk to my best friend!” He whined.

Hermione sighed, agitated. “Just look at it like this, the sooner Pansy breaks Harry, the sooner this is all over and out in the open.”

“Ooh, I like that. Oh, show him your bra.” Ron told Pansy. “He’s afraid of bras, can’t work ‘em.” Ron reached forward and ripped Pansy’s shirt open so that only the last four buttons remained buttoned.

“Ronald!” Pansy yelped. She examined her shirt. “Wow, you didn’t rip any buttons.” She stated, clearly impressed.

“Not my first time.” He said proudly and Hermione blushed. Pansy walked back in and made to close the door soundlessly.

Draco and Harry were still talking in the bathroom. “You go back out there and you seduce her ‘til she cracks!” He thrust the lotion into Harry’s hand.

“Okay, give me a second.” He kissed him passionately. “You’re hot when you’re crazy.”

“Of course I am.” He replied as he pushed Harry out the door. He saw Pansy at the door (which meant that she had successfully closed it without making a sound).

“Oh, you’re leaving.” Harry stated, feeling a weight lift off his shoulders only to be placed back on by the reply.

“Not without you, lover.” She walked toward him, looking down at her now open shirt then back up at him several times. “So… this is my bra.” She told him as if it weren’t already obvious.

Harry looked down at it then quickly back up to Pansy. “It’s very, very nice.” His voice was now shaking. “Well, come here. I’m very happy we’re going to have all the sex.” His heart was beating fast in his chest.

“You should be. I’m very bendy.” She stepped closer to him, the distance between them was miniscule. “I’m going to kiss you now.”

“Not if I kiss you first.” He may have been extremely uncomfortable, but he was determined to win for Draco. Though he wasn’t sure what he’d be winning.

Pansy put a hand on his waist. Harry mimicked the movement but quickly removed his hand when he felt a bit of her skin on his fingers. She put her other hand on his waist and attempted to close the gap between them, but Harry put a hand between them causing him to almost touch her breast. Her breathing increased, slight shock could be registered on her face, but Harry was too distraught to notice.

He removed his hand at lightning speed and let it hover over Pansy’s shoulder, still not touching her. He slowly lowered it down to meet the fabric covering it. She gasped, but covered it with a laugh. It came out nervous all the same.

“I guess there’s nothing left to do do bu- but kiss.” Harry stated, dreading that she wouldn’t back down.

“Here it comes.” Pansy replied, dropping the act of seduction she had put on all night. “Our first kiss.” Harry looked nervously toward the bathroom, willing Draco to burst out and save him. When he didn’t, Harry leaned in hesitantly, as did Pansy.

Their lips met and it was the worst and most awkward thing he had ever experienced. He couldn’t take it anymore. Harry pushed Pansy off of him and yelled. “Okay okay okay fine fine. You win!” Pansy laughed in victory. “I can’t have sex with you.” He said, moving back to put as much distance between them as possible.

“And why not?” She asked gloatingly.

“Because I’m in love with Draco!” Pansy gasped in surprise and covered her mouth with her hands. Draco opened the door to the bathroom and stared at Harry. They had never said that about each other before. Well, Harry did once, but he took it back right after he said it, afraid the feeling wouldn’t be reciprocated. He didn’t care about that this time. Harry wanted everyone to know his love for Draco.

He saw Hermione and Ron open the front door as well. “Love him! That’s right! I love him! I love him!” He proclaimed, pointing from himself then to Draco each time he said it. Draco broke into a smiled, as did Harry. They walked towards each other, Harry grabbing him by the waist when they were close enough. “I love you, Draco.”

“I love you too, Harry.” He wrapped his arms around the shorter boy’s neck and kissed him slowly.

Everyone smiled as the two boys kissed each other. “I thought you guys were just doing it. I didn’t know you were in love.” Pansy said, smiling ear to ear for his best friend had finally found the love that he so desperately sought. Draco smiled at his friends and hugged Harry tightly.

“Dude.” Ron stated, directing the word toward Harry to indicate he was happy that he had also found love. Harry grinned at him, then to the rest of the gang.

“And hats off the Pansy, quite the competitor.” Pansy thanked Harry as they shook hands. “And may I just say, you’re breasts are still showing.”

“Merlin.” She muttered and made to do up her buttons. Hermione rolled her eyes, waved her wand, and the buttons were done up once more.

Ron jumped up gleefully. “Alright. So that’s it! It’s over! Now everybody knows!”

“Well actually,” Draco spoke and Ron’s face fell with his hopes once more. “My mother doesn’t and Salazar knows this’ll be in the Prophet once it get’s out.”

“And we’d appreciate it if no one said anything yet. At least until we’ve told Narcissa.” Ron glared at the both of them and stormed out of the room. No matter how happy his friends were, he was so angry that he still had to keep this secret.

Bonus:

“I am so happy you decided to show me around Hogwarts, Minerva. I’ve been wanted to revisit it for quite some ti- what?” Narcissa Malfoy stopped her sentence when a flash of platinum blonde hair caught her eye. She was looking out a window to the Quidditch pitch when she saw a messy hair boy pull her son closer. Assuming he was going to start a fight, Narcissa rushed out of the room to save her son. Before she left, she saw that they were not in fact fighting, they were snogging and the messy haired boy let his hands settle on Draco’s bum.

Narcissa was outraged. How dare he touch my son like that! She thought as she stormed out of the castle, leaving Minerva behind.

“Potter! Potter!” She yelled as she approached the pitch. Draco cast a protection spell around them so that his mother couldn’t come any further. “I saw what you were doing through the window! I saw what you were doing to my son!” She yelled, though it came through muffled from the charm.

Harry turned to Draco, panting and petrified. “Listen, we’ve had a good run. What was it, four- five months?” He began to back up. “That’s more than most people have in a lifetime, so bye, take care, bye bye dear.” He peck him on the lips before taking out his wand to attempt to break a spot on the ward so he could run for it. Draco was too fast. Of course. That beautiful bastard. He thought to himself.

Expelliarmus!” The wand flew out of his hand and Draco caught it. “What are you doing?”

“Oh. I’m going on the lam.”

“Come on, Harry. Come on.” He pulled his boyfriend by the arm so they were the closest to Narcissa as they could be without breaking the charm. “I can handle my mother.” The blonde signalled for his mother to move back and he removed the wards. As soon as he did, Narcissa started to chase Harry around the pitch. She was surprisingly fast. “What the hell are you doing!” She yelled after him. He hid behind Draco, who held out his arms to protect him.

Hermione, who had been sat at the other end of the field with Ron, came running up to them. “What’s going on? We heard screaming?” Ron came up, panting, seconds later.

“Well, I think… Mrs. Malfoy knows about me and Draco?” He told them. Even though he was on a first name basis with Narcissa, he wouldn’t dare call her that while she looked this furious.

“Dude,” Ron looked scared and made a hand motion that meant “cut it out” “she’s right there.” Hermione, Harry, and Draco looked at Ron like they were about to lose their patience.

“I thought after I saved your life, you’d show my family some respect. This is my son. I cannot believe this!” She shrieked at Harry.

“Look, we’re not just messing around.” Harry suddenly found the courage to speak. “I love him, okay? I’m in love with him.”

Draco stepped forward a bit. “I’m so sorry that you had to find out this way, but it’s true. I love him too. We haven’t told anyone yet because we knew it’d be in the papers and we wanted to tell you ourselves.” He stepped back and allowed Harry to slink his arm around his waist while he put one around his shoulders.

Narcissa looked at them skeptically. Harry prepared himself to be yelled at again and by the feel of Draco’s rapid heartbeat, he did too. Everything went silent for a moment. Even the birds stopped chirping. Draco’s mother’s face softened and hugged them both. They simultaneously let out a breath. “I’m sorry. You guys probably want to get some hugs in too, huh?” She directed at Ron and Hermione when she pulled away. “Big news!” She sighed happily.

Hermione, smiling ear to ear, waved her off. “No, that’s okay. We’ve actually known for a while.”

Her face fell into a frown, which in turn made everyone else step back a bit. “Wha- what? You said you didn’t tell anyone!” She screeched at Draco.

“W- well, I didn’t mean them. They’re my friends! And I didn’t tell them they found out on their own.”

“I’m your mother.

“I was worried about how you’d react.” He told her cautiously.

Her face softened again and she drew her son into another hug. “You were worried about me?” She turned back to Ron and Hermione and hugged them as well.

“Now, why don’t we get out of here and let these lovebirds get back down to business.” Ron said brightly when the hug broke. Narcissa’s face fell once more, striking fear into Ron’s heart. “H- hey, don’t look at me.” He pointed to Harry. “He’s the one doing your son.”

How to Return to your Manuscript

Every writer knows what it’s like to set a manuscript down for an evening and just… not pick it up again.

Usually when this happens, we have every intention of returning to it the next day, but for some reason or another, we don’t.

One day turns into a week. Which turns into a month. Maybe two.

The longer the manuscript’s been set aside, the harder it becomes to pick up again. It turns into this dark, hulking presence lurking at the edge of your consciousness, like something in a horror movie, eating away at that piece of your identity labeled “writer.”

The reasons for not picking it up may change, but there’s always one.

You may not know where to start again, or doubt that your abilities are up to the standard its plot or characters require. You may not know where to find the time to write anymore. You may have even sat down to write just a few minutes ago, and ended up here on Tumblr instead, unable to bring yourself to open the manuscript file.

If you’re reading this post and feel personally attacked…

Don’t fret.

I have a writing exercise for you.

Set aside ten minutes of your day to look at your manuscript.

  • I recommend reading the last scene you completed, but this is your manuscript and your time. You can look at the first page. Or that one scene in the middle that you actually kind of like. Just don’t look at a blank page. Blank pages are scary and this is all about eliminating writing anxiety.
  • Personally, I make this the last thing I do in the day, so I go to sleep with my manuscript in my head. Sometimes it helps to let my unconscious mind have a go at sorting through what I’ve read. However, I think it’s helpful to do this before any long period of time when you can let your mind wander. You may find writing more helpful before work/school or during lunch. Before a commute. Whatever works best for you.

But don’t write and don’t look for more than ten minutes.

  • You’re not allowed to change a single thing in the document. Not a comma. Not a misspelled word.
  • When the ten minutes are up, simply close the document and go on with your day/night.
  • There will probably be some things that you do want to change in the manuscript. They may be very simple, sentence-level fixes, but they may be as big as an idea for continuing the scene or the start of the next chapter. Let those thoughts sit with you, instead of all of the manuscript doubt and anxiety that were sitting with you before.
  • And yes, keeping your time down to ten minutes is important. You want a focus on a bite-sized portion of the manuscript. If you read too much, you’ll give yourself too much to consider for the next day, you’ll find too much to change, and you’ll run the risk of making your work as anxiety-inducing as ever.

The next day, sit down with your document for another ten minutes.

  • Allow yourself to make the changes you didn’t make the first day, or ones you’ve come up with since. This may mean adding a few commas and removing a few ‘that’s. This may mean continuing with the scene. Ten minutes is the perfect amount of time to set down a good paragraph. Try that.
  • Again, force yourself to stop after ten minutes, even if you’re on a roll now. The stopping means that you have to keep all of those changes that you’re excited to make inside your head. It means that your thoughts about your manuscript are good and productive. It’ll keep you looking forward to your next writing session. Key advice: at the end of every writing session, always leave an edit in your head. It’ll be that small, tangible thing you can start with in your next session.

Rinse, repeat, and develop a routine.

  • Sit down for at least ten minutes every day. Make it a routine. Once the manuscript is open, do whatever feels comfortable to you: whether that means reading a chapter, editing something old, or writing something new.
  • If you’re coming up with edits and scenes that simply require more than ten minutes, start amping up your writing time. Write for an hour. Write for two or three.
  • Have a super busy day and know you can’t write for an hour? Those ten minutes are still fine. They’re still enough. Never feel like having spent three hours writing yesterday means you have to spend three hours writing today. Never feel like a failure for not spending X hours a day writing. That will only lead to not writing at all.
  • What if you get stuck again? Go back to a shorter writing time, go back to reading and not writing. Reduce the pressure you’ve put on yourself and relax your expectations. The most important thing is simply returning to your manuscript every day whether you have something good to set on the page or not.
  • Never got un-stuck in the first place? That’s still okay! Keep spending your ten minutes with your manuscript. Write or just read. Keep it in your thoughts. Make it a defined, real, thing instead of that monster lurking in your head. It may take time, but eventually, something will click, and by that point, opening that file and getting started will be a piece of cake.
  • If you are able to write for an hour or two each day, you may find it useful to continue setting aside ten minutes each evening to read that day’s work–read but not edit–and keep a few edits in your head for the next day’s session.

By the end of a week, whether you’ve written a hundred new pages or fixed a lot of bad grammar, you’ll at least be in a place where you’re once again thinking about your manuscript in tangible terms, as a thing made up of words and paragraphs instead of anxiety and blank pages.

Maybe in the end, you’ll decide that you simply need to abandon this story and pick up a new one. If this happens, you’ll be in a great place to start, with a writing routine already in place.

More likely than not, just spending time with your story will fan up your love for it again. And once more, your manuscript will be the annoying, stubborn, untameable child you adore instead of a lurking horror.

hi there :-) i love your writing sm so i was wondering if you could write a tom holland imagine based off of the song “give me love” by ed sheeran where the reader breaks up with tom bc of his hectic acting schedule but they both aren’t taking the breakup very well (however THERES A HAPPY ENDING?? HOPEFULLY???) but that’s just an idea; it’s totally up to you to put your own spin on it or go in a different direction !! thank you SOSO much🤗💛

Pairing: Tom Holland x Reader

Description: Tom had been traveling a lot lately, so much to the point you rarely saw him at all, sure you’d call and text occasionally, but that wasn’t enough, you supported his acting career 100%, but you couldn’t take it anymore.

Warnings: Kinda sad, slight mention of alcohol, but then happiness :)

Word Count: 2,661

A/N: This actually turned out a lot better than I thought it was going to tbh, so I hope you enjoy it :)) Also, this gif has nothing to do with the imagine, I just thought it was a cute gif of Tom, oops.

It had been two months since you last seen Tom, he was off filming for Spider-Man Homecoming, which you totally understood, it took dedication and time, but so did your relationship with him.

Normally when he went off and filmed movies you two were okay, you didn’t normally have issues and you’d still see him and talk almost everyday, but this time it was different.

Tom just disappeared, you’d get an occasional text here and there, sometimes a phone call, but that was it.

You were left in the dark, just like a fan was.

It’s not that you didn’t love his fans, you did with all your heart, they were half the reason you were still sane, since they seemed to have more knowledge about Tom than you did yourself, and you were the one dating him.

You spent those long two months trying to decide on what to do, on what you thought was right and necessary, or more so healthy.

You knew deep down this relationship with Tom was fading, it was becoming stressful and making you more and more upset as the days went by.

‘Cause lately I’ve been waking up alone,

Pain splattered teardrops on my shirt.

Every morning you’d wake up, in hope of a good morning text, literally anything to show that maybe, just maybe he remembered you, but there was never anything.

This crushed your heart, everyday.

Until one day you had enough, you didn’t want to do this, but it was for the best, it was the right decision, it was the smart decision, this relationship wasn’t healthy for you anymore.

You started packing your belongings from Tom’s apartment, tears streaming down your face as you packed up boxes of your belongings.

You dreaded leaving his clothes behind that you always wore, but you knew if you took them you’d never let him go, and you needed to, it was for the best you would tell yourself.

You took one last look around his apartment, the one you had been living in for the past year, all the memories you two had created there were slowly being erased.

You let out a choked sob as you picked up the few boxes you had, before closing and locking the apartment door, and off to your new tiny little apartment your parents had gotten you a while back.

It was a few hours away from Tom’s which was good in a small sense, but at the same time your mind was moving at warp speed, unable to process you were moving back into your old apartment.

You arrived at nightfall, pulling your belongings out of your car before entering your tiny living space, you always had the feeling of comfort and safety in your apartment.

Maybe tonight I’ll call ya,

Maybe I should let you go.

You set your boxes on the counter of your kitchen, pulling out your phone, shakily dialing in Tom’s number.

You pressed the phone to your ear hesitantly, hearing it ring a few times before someone picked up.

“Hello?” A voice rung through your apartment, making your knees go weak.

“Hey Tom..” You murmured into the phone, biting your lip nervously, a bad habit you had gotten.

“Oh, hey Y/N! What’s up?” He questioned casually, as if he had no clue in the world how distant he had been with you these past few months.

“I-I uhm..” You stuttered, your heart beating rapidly, as you nervously swallowed, which Tom could hear through the phone.

“Y/N, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” Tom questioned worriedly, making you blink back tears that were daring to fall down your cheeks.

“No.. Tom.. Things aren’t okay.. They haven’t been for a while..” You spoke, voice barely above a whisper, but Tom heard you clear as day, his heart starting to beat quicker.

“Y-Y/N, you’re starting to scare me, what’s going on?” He stammered, he was now sitting down at a table on set.

“Tom..” You started, wiping your hand across your cheeks, tears continuing to fall down them.

“Do you realize how long it’s been since we’ve talked?” You asked, sitting down on a stool in your kitchen, waiting for his answer.

Tom sat there for a minute, puzzled at your question, until he started to realize how he’d been acting, as if you didn’t even exist.

“Y/N, o-oh my god, I’m s-so sorry.” Tom apologized, his eyes wide as he started to put pieces together.

“Tom, just stop, please?” You whimpered out, pinching the bridge of your nose.

“Y/N, p-please don’t do this..” Tom whispered, his voice cracking, he couldn’t bare lose you.

“Tom, this isn’t healthy, I can’t keep living like this..” You whispered, sniffling, your heart hurting the more you spoke.

“I can change, I can fix things, I-I promise..” Tom pleaded, tears starting to brim his eyes.

“Listen, I love you, but.. I-I can’t do this anymore.. I think.. W-We should b-break u-up..” You stuttered, your heart breaking into a million pieces as you spoke the most awful words.

“N-No, Y/N, p-please! N-No! I-I can’t l-lose you.” Tom cried out, tears now falling down his cheeks, but he didn’t even care anymore if anyone saw him.

“I-I’m so sorry..” You whispered, choking back sobs, as you heard Tom letting out his own.

“Y/N, d-don’t do this, p-please..” He continued to plead, only making it worse for the both of you.

“It’s for the best, I love you, goodbye Tom.” You whispered, hanging up before you could hear anymore of his plea’s.

You slowly slid down the stool, leaning back against your counter, letting out strangled sobs, your heart broken into small tiny fragments.

Tom on the other hand was staring at his phone, unable to process what had just happened.

His hands were shaking, tears were streaming down his red cheeks, his hair was a mess from running and tugging on it too many times.

“Hey Tom, we’re ready to shoot the next scene and, -oh, good lord what happened? Are you okay?” The producer asked, seeing Tom’s state wasn’t exactly stable at the current moment.

Tom just stared ahead of him, unable to produce words, all he could think about was you, and how he had let you down, made you feel like you were forgotten, not important to him, when you actually meant the entire world to him.

You were the reason he woke up every morning, the reason he was happy all the time, the reason he was as successful as he was, you were his light, but now you were gone, and now everything was dark.

“Tom, hey man, what’s going on?“ Jacob rushed over, after the producer told him how worried they were about his mental state.

"Buddy, it’s me, talk to me.” Jacob pleaded, looking over Tom and internally cringing at how much of a disaster he looked.

“Y-Y/n, she b-broke up with m-me.” Tom stammered out, looking up at his friend, who had a look of shock on his face.

“Dude, I’m so sorry. What happened?” Jacob asked carefully, not wanting Tom to have a emotional breakdown even worse.

“I became distant, without even realizing it, and it broke her.” Tom wiped his face, looking at the table sadly.

“You can win her back buddy, I know it.” Jacob tried to convince him, anything to make him lighten up just the tiniest bit.

“I really blew it Jacob, you should of heard her, she sounded so broken, and a-alone and it’s all m-my fault! I made the only person I loved leave me all because I was too much of an idiot.” Tom spoke furiously, hitting the table, startling Jacob.

“Alright, you know what lets just take a break today, you can chill and do what you need to, and we can figure this all out.” Jacob suggested, as Tom nodded slightly, before Jacob went to the producer, who agreed it was a good idea.

Two days passed and you were a total mess, you refused to leave your apartment, your friends tried calling and texting you, but you just ignored them, wanting to be alone.

You just laid in your bed, the curtains closed, a candle lit on your kitchen counter, making your apartment smell like crisp fall air.

‘Cause lately I’ve been craving more,

And it’s been a while, but I still feel the same,

After my blood turns into alcohol,

All I want is the taste that your lips allow.

Without Tom you didn’t know what to do with your life, he was such a huge part of you and now he was missing, a chunk of you was missing and you were lost.

You tried drinking, to numb the pain, but nothing worked, it just made you even more miserable than before.

You needed him.

And he needed you.

The producer had allowed Tom and Jacob to return back home for a few days to figure things out, once he got to his apartment he had expected you to still be there, but once he entered he noticed that none of your belongings were there anymore, and the shirts you once wore were folded on his bed.

In that moment he felt his heart drop, you really had left.

“Dude, where could she be?” Jacob questioned, as they set their belongings in his apartment.

“She returned back to her old one, she used to live there until she moved in with me.” Tom replied, grabbing his keys as they both headed out the door again.

They drove the few hours to your apartment, Tom was a nervous wreck, he wasn’t sure how you’d react to seeing him after all this time.

“Okay buddy, you got this, I’ll wait in the car.” Jacob gave a small smile, along with a thumbs up as Tom got out and walked up to your apartment door, hesitantly knocking.

When you didn’t answer he got nervous, but he saw your car parked in the driveway so he knew you were home.

This made him worry, he quickly fidgeted to find the spare key you had given him, he swiftly unlocked the door, noticing the darkness of the apartment, and the intense smell of alcohol and a fall scented candle.

“Y/N? Y/N where are you?” Tom shouted, before seeing you laying in your bed, staring blankly into space.

“Shit, Y/N.” Tom rushed over, pulling you into his arms tightly, kissing your head.

“T-Tom?” You mumbled out, blinking rapidly before realizing he wasn’t a figment of your imagination, that you weren’t actually hallucinating him.

“Yes, it’s me.” He whispered, now holding your face in his hands gently.

“It’s really you.” You whispered, tears slipping down your face, you couldn’t believe he came to see you.

“It’s really me babe, I’m so so sorry, for everything.” Tom whispered, caressing your cheek gently with his thumb.

“I missed you.” You whimpered, moving your face more into his hand, while placing your hands on his.

“I missed you too darling, I promise that’ll never happen again.” He kissed your forehead, causing you to close your eyes.

“Please, give me another chance.” He pleaded, making you lock eyes with him, before a small smile appeared on your lips as you gave a slight nod.

Tom’s eyes lit up, his heart racing before his lips met yours, the kiss passionate and full of pent up emotions.

“I love you so much, even when you’re an asshole sometimes.” You laughed slightly, your forehead pressed against his.

“I love you too darling, and I know I can be, but that’s why I have someone like you to keep me in place.” He chuckled, kissing your nose before wrapping his arms around you once again.

You both laid there for a bit, catching up, laughing, smiling, kissing, more talking, more kissing.

You knew you always loved this apartment of yours, because no matter what you always felt safe, and now you realized one of those reasons was because of Tom, he made you feel safe, he made you feel at home, because he was your home.

And always would be, no matter what.

You smiled at Tom who was watching you in amusement, before his phone started ringing.

“Hello?” Tom answered, before a smile formed on his face and laughter escaped his lips.

“Yes Jacob, you can come up now.” Tom laughed, making your eyes widen and laugh along with him.

“You didn’t tell me Jacob was here! Jacob I’m coming!” You shouted, sprinting off the bed and running down the hallway.

“But babe, what about me!” Tom shouted after you, a playful grin on his face as he watched you sprint down the hallway.

“Are you kidding? Jacob all the way!” You teased, a playful smile on your face as you tackled Jacob in a hug, making him loose his balance.

“Nooooo! My smoothie!”

in which y/n attends the after party…

a part two to in which y/n buys harry starbucks…

Y/N was not a partier. It wasn’t that she was shy or didn’t like them. It was just that she was introverted and partying took a lot out of her (Also, she couldn’t hang like she used to. By 10pm, when most parties were kicking off, she was ready to drag herself into bed). However, when Harry Styles says he wants to see you at a party, you go to that party.

She’d been iffy after she met him at Starbucks about actually getting tickets to the show. Still, a few hours later, she found herself at Will Call, chewing nervously on her bottom lip in hopes that he was serious about what he said previously. And, he was. Relief flooded her as she was slid two tickets along with a piece of paper that held an address on it. She presumed it to be the location of the after party and slid it into her back pocket.

Her nerves were bouncing all over the place as she stood in line to enter the venue. Her feelings were put to the side, however, as she saw a girl get turned away at the door and her friend stood staring wide eyed with her jaw dropped. She instantly was moved to action. As she neared the front of the line, she could hear the girl who’s ticket was apparently fake, breathing through tears, telling her friend to go in without her, forcing a smile. “Wait!” she called out to them, not that either one of them were going anywhere. They were stood off to the side. “I just saw what happened, and I have two tickets. You could just trade me the one for these two.” She held the tickets out for them, as they eyeballed them.

“These are third row tickets. Mine isn’t even on the floor."

She shrugged, nonchalantly. "I’m just happy to be here.” And, she was considering three hours ago she didn’t even have tickets or an invitation to an after party extended by Mr. Harry Styles himself. After meeting him today, this was the least she could do.

“How do we know these are real?” The same girl asked, still eyeing the tickets suspiciously.

Seeing as they were still holding up the line, Y/N scurried over to the ticket checker, so she could scan the tickets. They checked out. The two girls quickly scrambled to her side, swapped tickets, and made their way inside the venue. Once in, they hugged each other tightly, crying (what she hoped to be) tears of joy, at the sudden turn of events before they turned to her and included her in the action, letting their appreciation known through muffled sobs. “How much do you want for it?” the girl who had the fake ticket asked once she got herself together.

She shook her head, giving them a small smile. “I don’t want your money.”

“Seriously? I can’t just let you do this. These must’ve cost a fortune.”

She didn’t want to reveal that she’d got them for little more than a cup of coffee, so she just shook her head politely once more. “Honestly. I’m fine. You two just have a good time.”

“I could get you a t shirt or a hat or one of those pins or–”

She cut the girl off since she was so insistent upon repaying her in some way—which seemed to be a common theme for her today. “Water! And some popcorn, if you must.”

The girls beamed at her as they made their way to the concession stand. They did not stop talking the entire time, not that she minded. They thanked her endlessly and chatted a bit about Harry, but finally parted ways with her, giving one final hug, when they noticed the time and the length of the merch line, and she went to go find her new seat.

—–

In hindsight, she was glad she wasn’t sitting in the third row. After she played it relatively cool that afternoon it would’ve been moderately embarrassing for him to see the way she sobbed as soon as his silhouette appeared straight through Ever Since New York, only regaining slight composure once the bridge hit. But, really, she was a mess throughout the entire concert. So, not only did she do those girls a favour but also herself and possibly Harry.

The kind, older lady sat in front of her, whom she’d made friends with, let her borrow her binoculars a few times throughout the show and it wasn’t lost on her the slight look of confusion (or perhaps disappointment, but that was wishful thinking) she saw on his face when he really looked into the first couple rows of the crowd.

Her presence, or seemingly lack there of, had absolutely no impact on his performance, though. It was arguably the best concert she’d ever been to. She felt so at home with all the Harries screaming their heads off and just going completely nuts, as per Harry’s request, during the show.

However, the same could not be said for the after party. She was a fan. She didn’t have any connections or friends or any real reason to be there other than the haphazard invitation Harry extended to her earlier in the day. That thought carried her straight to the open bar, where she ordered a Long Island iced tea, then caused her to beeline for one of the outer walls. She meandered around the outside of the party watching everyone mingle, only offering a few smiles to those who passed.

It seemed as though her presence was going to go unnoticed, not that she was doing much of a job at being approachable, as she contemplated on getting another drink, having sipped hers down over the hour she’d been at the lounge, or leaving altogether. She jumped when she felt a firm grasp on her elbow, breaking her line of thought.

She hadn’t planned on doing a lot of things that day, but it’s safe to say that getting kidnapped topped that list. Her mind was eased as she turned around to see Harry gripping her, no longer donned in his Gucci suit but looking good nonetheless. She wasn’t quite sure what to say to him so she just grinned at him, subtly looking between his face and her arm before he got the hint and let her go.

He coughed lightly. “You could’ve told me you didn’t like my music, ya know?”

She furrowed her eyebrows, not quite sure where he got that notion from.
He answered the question she hadn’t even gotten the chance to ask yet, almost immediately after seeing her expression. “You weren’t in the crowd. I literally scanned all the front rows.”

“Ohhhh. No, I went. I didn’t sit there, though.”

“If you had tickets, you should’ve just told me.”

Her face contorted into something that was halfway between confusion and amusement. “Why are you assuming I lied to you earlier? I was waiting in line after picking my tickets up and I saw these two girls. One, apparently, had purchased a fake ticket and instead of holding onto those two tickets, I swapped with the one girl who had a legitimate ticket and just gave them the ones you got me.”

His mouth opened and closed a few times. “Sorry I–”

“Was just wondering how to get your exceptionally large foot out of your even larger mouth?” she finished, rolling her eyes, teetering between the lines of annoyed and amused.

“That was really lovely,” he settled upon as a response.

She shrugged. “Treat people with kindness, right?”

Dimples coined into his cheeks. “Absolutely. Now… can I buy you a drink?”

“It’s an open bar.”

He looked at her like she was crazy, eyebrows shot up with his lips twisted together. “No, it’s not.”

“Oh. Well, you can pay for the Long Island iced tea I already accidentally stole and just get me a glass of water.”

“You sure?” he chuckled.

“Yes, sir.”

He headed to the bar as she turned around bowing raspberries into the air in an attempt to calm herself down.

All too soon, Harry was back, handing her her water, then slipping his hand into hers, leading her to a booth. Instead of sliding in across from her, he slid in directly next to her which sent her nerves in a frenzy. “Figured I’d sit over here, so I can hear you better. It’s quite loud in here.”

She chucked nervously, nodding in understanding, sipping on her water as he gulped down some of his drink. She couldn’t hold it in anymore. She had to ask. “What am I doing here?” she blurted before he could get a word out.

He puckered his lips to the side, furrowing his eyebrows. “I’m not quite sure what you mean…”

She splayed her hands out in front of them, releasing broken groans. “Like, bro, I just– I just bought you…. coffee! Now I’m sat in a booth with you at an after party. I’m not even, like–” she waved her hands in circles wildly.

He giggled, looking down at the table and shaking his head. “I just want to get to know you.”

“But, why?” She just couldn’t wrap her head around it. She wasn’t anything special. She wasn’t exceptionally beautiful or talented or smart. And, she knew, even past all her nerves, that Harry was just a normal guy as well, but why on earth would he spare her more than a passing glance?

“I just think you’re lovely.”

She glared at him. She needed more of an explanation than that.

“The guy at Starbucks told me you didn’t want him to tell me that you paid for my coffee. And, then you told me yourself that you didn’t expect anything out of it.. And, you gave up your tickets for one in the back. And, I saw you when you first came in, and in the least creepy way possible, I just sort of watched you bounce around smiling, bopping around to the music, chatting with a few people. Also, you haven’t even asked for a picture. Not that I mind when people ask me, but I don’t know, it just, I don’t know, you don’t want anything. It’s, uh– You’re lovely.”

She was stunned. Partly because of what was said and partly because of who said it. She just stared at him, not knowing how to reply.

“Well, say something.” He laughed, eyes skipping around the room. He wasn’t quite prepared to look straight at her. “Christ, talking to girls is just as terrifying as always.”

Her face lit up and broke into a wide grin. “You’re talking to me?”

“You’re the only other person in the booth, aren’t you?”

She shook her head. “No, like, you’re talking to me. You’re chatting me up? Are you putting the moves on me, Styles? Is this what this is?”

He bumped her shoulder with his. “Piss off.”

They smiled at each other and all the possibilities.. Hers faltered after a few moments. “You’re on tour.”

“I am,” he confirmed.

She clasped her hand on top of his. “Harry, in a few days, I won’t even be a passing thought. Maybe the next time you go into Starbucks I’ll be that one chick that bought you something, but nothing more."

His face dropped into a pout. "You’re not even going to give me a chance?”

She quirked her lip upwards and shrugged slightly. “I couldn’t ask for that kind of commitment from you.”

“Baby, I just want to get to know you,” he said in a voice all slow and thick and deep.

She wasn’t sure at which point they shifted that much closer together, but he was resting his forehead against hers leaving her breathless. Naturally, she sputtered out a few strings of laughter. “One thing you should know about me is that I’m uncomfortable in most social situations."

"Duly noted,” he stated, rolling his eyes because she completely ruined the mood he set, head following suit and backing up a few inches.

“So… just friends?”

He scratched the back of his neck. “Sure."He gulped down the remainder of his drink while she sipped on her water. Neither of them were 100% satisfied with the arrangement, but someone had to be rational. She kept telling herself that she was doing the right thing. "Actually, can I kiss you?”

For the second time that night, she was rendered completely speechless. Y/N had been exercising extreme self-control up to that point. She didn’t have an anxiety attack when she met him the first time. She gave up amazing seats to see him (¼ of the biggest band in the world!). She turned him down when he came onto her. But, she couldn’t find it in herself to reject the chance to feel those lips on hers.. Like she imagined meeting him, she imagined kissing him a million times, but nothing compared to the fluffy, pillowy sensation that washed over her body when she nodded meekly at his request, sliding her hands up to grasp his face.

It wasn’t like a full blown snog. It was short and sweet, but that knowledge didn’t do anything to quell the butterflies that took flight in her stomach. She kept her eyes closed and hands on his face for a good five seconds after the kiss ended, simply basking in it. “Maybe we can be a little more than friends.”

“Yeah?” he questioned, optimism laced in his every word, before pushing his lips back to hers for a few more seconds.

“Yeah, but, maybe later. When you’re not so busy. After tour ends, if you even remember me.”

“I have a feeling you’ll be one of the few people I can’t forget.” His face set into that signature lopsided smirk.

“We’ll just have to wait and see.”

“That we will, my dear, that we will.”
