hass ''the flame'' harley

So I'm really curious if the alpha kids are in the hsetau and I looked through the tags and didn't see anything about them? Are they just combined with their guardian counterparts or are they their own characters?

They have been merged with their Guardian counterparts!

Jane Egbert was born Jinsei Kuroki, the child of a Japanese immigrant family. She was interned along with the rest of her family during World War II. Her twin brother ran away during this time and she never saw him again. After she was released from the internment camp known as Camp Harmony she opened a small joke shop, married a white man, and took his last name. Her biological son is Yori Egbert and her biological grandson is John Egbert. Jane spends most of her time hopping between living in the Egbert household and visiting Japan on business.

If you haven’t seen the face of Roxy Lalonde in at least ONE science magazine in the past five years, you have not been paying attention. Her great advances in the fields of biology are only matched by her great advances in not knowing how to take care of her daughter Rose Lalonde. It’s hard enough being a single mom, but being a single mom and a scientist at the same time means Roxy is almost never able to meet face to face with her daughter, forcing them to communicate through sticky notes and leaving gifts for each other. Roxy’s trying to spend more time at home rather than at the lab, but it’d hard, you know?

Dirk Strider was 20 years old when his parents died in a severe car accident. His little brother Dave Strider was left in his care when Dave was 2 years old, and fuck if Dirk knows how to take care of a kid. He gives plenty of shits and he wants to make sure his little brother can handle the outside world, but far too often his attempts to help Dave become stronger only result in trauma and abuse. Dirk makes his money off of niche pornography and he doesn’t know dick about how to raise a kid, but he’d probably agree with anyone who said that Dave deserved better (after the initial anger and possessiveness wears off).

Jacob English is an alias of Hass “the Flame” Harley, a gentleman adventurer and retired military scientist. He served in the United States Navy and at one point had relations with a woman in Malaysia. After tragedy struck the lady’s side of the family, Mr. Harley was the only member of Jade Harley’s family left to take care of her, which he did with gusto. He lives with Jade and Becquerel on a private island in the Pacific Ocean.

Hiveswap trailer analysis

OK now that I’ve calmed down enough to analyze the trailer a bit…

Most of the hallway pictures were shown before. That being said, the ones with Grandpa Harley’s wife in them were new. We still don’t know her name, but it apparently starts with an A. Grandpa’s name, on the other hand, is Jake, which isn’t surprising in the least since he’s been referred to as such by Hussie, and since it’s been hinted that the post-scratch and pre-scratch kids had the same names on both sides of the scratch (and confirmed in-comic with Nanna and Jane). Still, a moment of silence for anyone hoping that Grandpa’s name would canonically be “Hass ‘The Flame’ Harley”.

Joey’s room has a few medical kits in it (she wants to be a veterinarian), lots of plushies and stickers, a stylized sun/Light-aspect symbol on the ceiling, her ballet shoes, plenty of posters (Again, I reiterate that anyone with Earthbound and Final Fantasy VI posters on their wall has good taste in games. I don’t know anything about Bubsy, and I’ve never played a Metroid game. Or a Tetris game, for that matter). The Earthbound poster lists the game as “Mother 2″ - I think at the time Hiveswap is set in (1994, IIRC), it hadn’t been released in America yet? She also has an interest in G1 My Little Pony, Tiny Toonz, and The Neverending Story. I don’t know what “Are You Afraid of the Dark” or “Dirty Dorothy” (I think that’s what it says) are. She’s got a Super Nintendo, Jenga pieces, Hungry Hungry Hippos, Connect-4, some MLP figures (also seen scattered around the manor later in the trailer), and a Manthro Chap.

Jude has, in his treehouse, a lot of pictures and newspaper clippings on the walls. One appears to feature items from Grandpa Harley’s adventures - a reindeer, a globe, and that one Gmork head that plagued Hussie and others throughout Homestuck. Interestingly, it’s eyes are mismatched, one being red and the other being green - two cherub themed colors that have come up in a lot of promotional images…below that picture is a cutout of a comic book panel, ans a box with a flashlight and a book titled “Haze”. In the back is a map of the USA, with California, Nevada and Oregon visible; in front of that, a cinderblock desk, with homing pidgeons in a cage on top of it, and a lamp on top of that. Next to that, a calender can be seen, with a date marked on it. Besides the geodes and weird gadgets, the opposite wall from the one with the comic panel has a llot of scribbled over conspiracy theory clippings. Bill Clinton’s beautiful son, Bigfoot Clinton, is shown, as well as a picture of Batboy at a bar.

More Joey exploring the manor. Even the lamps are blue ladies. Also a lion painting, a grandfather clock in the shape of a bear, and blue lady paintings hidden behind said clock. Weird masks too.

Surprise animation! Joey, Jude and Tesseract face down a giant monster, and they don’t look at all prepared!

Part of the manor attic? The usual Grandpa Harley nonsense. Knights, blue lady paintings, chairs with antlers on them, what may or may not be minor Typheus and Cetus minions…there’s a note on the wall next to the washing machine, but I can’t make out what it says.

Combat involves some sort of target reticule, and also Joey uses her flashlight as a melee weapon. Maybe flashlights weren’t as fragile back then as they are now. Also, she is able to use her ballet skills to pirouette out of the way of the monster’s attack.

Then she is seen running away from a similar monster, possibly the same one, in the hallway that her room is in. All sorts of junk here, including the statue with a tutu that we’ve seen before, and a horse painting (no football player, sadly) with several notes taped to it.

Then we get the main logo, and then a quick scene from Alternia, where Xefros is watching Imperial Drones kidnap a bunch of kids for some reason. Xefros’ home is on a highway leading into a big city. The highway features, among other things, advertising billboards featuring Trizza, Alternian Heiress. It seems the portal in the hive across the street just activated, as Joey is seen beaming down into it. I’d assume that Xefros has just witnessed Dammek escape the drones by activating the portal and fleeing to realms unknown (Earth), seeing as the portal is already active and Dammek and Joey’s transportalization has been indicated to have been circumstantially simultaneous.

Title: Witch of Space

Ranking index: 0,83 (#3)

Space skills: levitation, teleportation, portals

(First - casual outfit, second - formal).

Jade is an heiress of the human empire, the one who will grow up to be Hass Harley’s right hand (one of his right hands - the second being John). ‘Harley’ is not her actual surname, her was adopted by Hass “The Flame” Harley, aka Grandpa Harley. She was born in a family of regular humans and adopted into the house Beta upon discovering that she has the Space Aspect (at that time the house Alpha was posing a threat with their recently born Hope and Life Aspecters; Betas thought that they could attempt to seize power in the future and were in need of someone highly ranking to oppose them). Jade was supposed to be a princess, a face of a new generation, but she also had other things she was good at – specifically hunting the underlings. Jade realized that: a) she was irreplaceable as a hunter, the best among the humans, while someone else could take her job as a princess; b) she doesn’t want to be The Face, she’d rather do more appealing things – like said hunting, gardening and taking care of her dog. She passed the role to John, that’s why he’s the main heir and prince now, despite having a lower rank. But a lot of people still call Jade a princess and she still plays an active part in making decisions about the land, sometimes receiving letters inviting her to the meetings or other stuff. She doesn’t live in the royal residence (something like White House in the USA or Kremlin in Russia) with John, Dave and Rose anymore, she has her own house.

In this house Jade has a garden full of various pretty flowers which she sells in her own flower shop; she also produces flowers for Feferi who has a Wintergarten.

She lives near a field inhabited by the underlings, the radiation from the grist they drop affects the ground and the plants, that is why some of her planets are mutated – she loves experimenting with them. It also affected her dog Bec, who now glows green in the dark. Seeing how only animals are able to distinguish different types of grist and tell which ones are harmless, Bec plays an important part in Jade’s hunting trips.

Jade’s best friends are Dave, John and Rose – they have known each other since childhood. Her other good friends are Kanaya and Feferi – although she spends less time with them, mostly because of living in different lands. She has known Kanaya since childhood too, they exchange tips about how to use Space, and Kanaya is also interested in Rose, that’s why she has a lot of reasons to visit Jade’s land often. Feferi, on the other hand, is a fellow heiress and a fellow Witch, she is very busy and usually talks to Jade only via Pesterchum/Trollian. They met on the day of the Class Trials and decided they should talk more upon discovering they are both Witches.

Jade’s Space skills include levitation and teleportation of objects. She can also open portals, but she is still learning and now when she opens a portal she can’t tell which location it is going to lead to.

(A/N: hell yeah, my first “about” post! for the character who started this au)
