Poem of Acceptance (hope you like it harl0tt)

By: Espy Jay

Hello. Good Morning. Do you see the sun?

Isn’t it warm? Or is it? Do you feel it differently? Is the sun shining brighter for you?

Hello. Good afternoon. How is your meal? I love that dish. Does is taste better to you?

Hello. Good evening. Aren’t the stars pretty? Or is the shining just for you?

You ask me why I ask these things. It is because you think so, am I right?

You feel that way about love, do you not? You feel it is just for you. Because you love a girl. And you are a boy. But I love a boy, and I am a boy. What makes me different? The word doesn’t change. The feeling is the same. But you claim it is different. Why is that?

Are you afraid? Why? Corruption of children? I love children. How does love corrupt a child? What about hate? Wouldn’t hate corrupt children more than love? You agree? Then why do you hate us, and teach your children to fear us? It doesn’t make sense.

What is that you say? Oppression? Of your religious beliefs? How? I am faithful. I do not cry to end Christianity. I accept it as your religion. I know for a fact that you are told to love thy neighbor? Did I miss the part of the Bible where it says the exceptions? I do not think so. It seems to me that you are not following your own rules. Are you without sin? Then why do you cast a stone?

I have skin. I have bones. I have a heart. Do you have these things? Are you human? I know that I am. Why are we treated like we are not? Because of our brain’s wiring? Because of our mind? Why? Do you not also have a brain? Why then are we not equal?

Love, Faith, Hope, Hearts. We are not at all different, except whom we love. Why then is it so hard to believe that we all can be equal and live in peace?

Tomorrow is a beautiful new day. Would you like to change it with me? Then take my hand, not only as equals, but as brothers and sisters.
