She decided a long time ago she didn’t want to be a careful person, that she didn’t want to live her life constantly worrying about what other people thought of her. Of course she does worry, she does nothing but worry, and all her lack of care amounts to is that she offends people constantly and tests them with her inappropriateness and expects them to love her for it.
So I was working the toy section at work today, cursing Disney for making such aggravatingly large things for a movie that literally died as quickly as it came (cough Good Dinosaur cough)
But I’m sitting there on the floor, grumpy and trying to fight with pegs, when this lil boy who had to be maybe four at most comes into the aisle. I’m still doin’ my stuff but he’s so cheerful just like “HELLO! HOW ARE YOU? WHAT ARE YOU DOING THAT LOOKS FUN!” And I’m talking with him and whatnot and he’s in the middle of telling me about his mom and brother before he turns and gasps. I look over and he’s fighting to get a Monster High doll off the hook and he just looks at me with
the biggest smile
and hugs the box like “I LOVE BARBIES!!!” Like this boy was just so beyond ecstatic and is like dancing around the aisle hugging it and laughing. I ask him if he has other Monster High dolls and he’s telling me all the different dolls and the house he has for them that his dad made with a box from what I could gather. I was privileged with the knowledge of which of them were roommates and which of them couldn’t stand each other so they had to be in opposite corners of the house.
And his mom comes up and looks at the doll in his hand and sighs and is just like “ANOTHER Gigi?” “She’s my favorite” “I know but you have two” and he just starts explaining why apparently Gigi is tops and she just relents like “Fine but you have to share this one with your sister” “NO.” “Well I tried.”
played and beat a wonderful game a few days ago called, “A Hat in Time”
and decided to make some fan art. It’s amazing how we live in a era
where indie developers are making some of the best games out there,
including 3D collectathon platformers akin to 3D Mario.
I just Hat kid (she doesn’t have a name :()
in the pose she gets when she gets the primary collectable, time
pieces. She’s really cute. If you have a PC, get this game. It’s clear
it was made with a lot of love and care. Enjoy!

grl2grl shows the rawness of teenage emotion as young girls become women and begin to discover the intricacies of love, dating and sexuality.
“'My greatest fear is that I’ll die alone. Not that I’ll die, but that I’ll be alone at the end. Unloved.’ Okay, that was a revelation, even to me. I think I see her head nod.
‘My greatest fear?’ She glances up at me sideways. 'Is that I’ll live alone. My whole life. That it’s always going to be this way.'”
