We gotta get back to Xavier’s, we gotta get back to school. We gotta get back to Xavier’s, where everything is mutant-cool! Back to witches and mutants, Magik and Beast! To space stuff and jokes, and to powers and feasts! It’s all that I love, and it’s all that I need at Xavier’s, Xavier’s!

“I guess I knew Hank about a year before I married him. Bless his heart, the whole year he was trying to get me to marry him. I was afraid, I was very hesitant about it because I knew he had this drinking problem. I had never been around anybody that drank. Hank was living in a trailer in Andalusia and playing a club … I was doing the cooking for the boys. All of a sudden one afternoon — it was the 15th of December — all of a sudden when he asked me I said yes. He’d been doing real good, he wasn’t drinking, he’d been doing real good and I was proud of him. The justice of the peace ran a filling station and we went over to this filling station with a couple of boys in the band and that’s how we were married.” — Audrey Williams talks about her marriage to Hank Williams on Dec. 15, 1944, Andalusia, Ala.
