hands up if you thought they were about to make out

Honestly gettin’ pretty sick of people coming to me to trash Joseph whenever I say he’s a complicated character with a lot of nuance, so hey, here’s my take on the whole Mary-Robert-Joseph situation.

I’ll put this all under a cut so here are some disclaimers; This is full of spoilers, I’m writing this under the assumption that all the cult end stuff is non-canon, and yes, this is only one possible interpretation of the information we can glean from the character interactions (also, taken from what may later prove to be incomplete information as more endings are unlocked/glitches are fixed/content is released). I like it because I think it’s the most interesting and empathetic for all of the characters involved and because I don’t think it’s the kind of situation that necessarily has to have a “villain”.

A/N: Hey guys! Welcome to day 2 of #MitchWeek! Yes, this smut is completely inspired by that bathtub scene from the trailer. I came up with this idea and immediately told Nia about it to which she said and I quote “if you don’t write this, I will.” And so we decided to turn it into a collab! I hope you guys love how intense this is as much as we do. We really felt no need to hold back.

“I don’t need a babysitter.” Mitch snarled at Stan Hurley as the pair walked down the long hallway.

“If anyone needs a babysitter, it’s you.” Stan chuckled at his least favourite trainee’s expense.

Tapping your foot impatiently, you stood outside the house Tom and Harrison were renting in Atlanta while Tom worked. You heard muffled voices behind the other side of the door, feet shuffling along the floor as your older brother made his way to the entrance of the house. The door opened, Harrison stood smiling in the hallway, moving to the side to let you in. He hugged you tightly, then reached for your suitcases outside.

“Jesus Christ, how much did you bring?” Harrison noted your large amount of luggage. You shrugged.
“I need options,” you said simply. He laughed.
“I’ll take these upstairs. Go in the kitchen through the back, the others are in there.” You were nervous, about to enter a room full of strangers. You inhaled deeply, stepping into the kitchen as Harrison lugged your suitcases up the stairs.

“You must be Y/N!” Jacob said. You smiled at his welcome as he introduced you to his friends. “Tom’s actually on set at the moment, but you know him anyway. He’ll be back for dinner tonight. Laura’s gonna cook for us.” You’d known Tom for as long as you could remember, always having a tiny inappropriate crush on your brother’s best friend. You hadn’t seen him for months now he had a successful career under his belt, he was rarely ever home. It was Harrison’s idea that you came out to visit them, he felt guilty he’d been away and missed your birthday.

Jacob was friendly, already making you feel at ease. The others smiled at you, including you in their conversation. You took the kitchen stool in between Zendaya and a vacant one, where Harrison sat once he had finished with your bags.
“So guys,” Harrison piped up. “Obviously my sister is gonna be here for a couple of weeks, so you better treat her like family and make sure she’s happy all the time. She needs a lot of attention or she’ll start to get weird,” Harrison teased, poking your sides.
“A bit like you then,” Zendaya quipped, making everyone laugh.
“Why don’t we chill in the pool?” Laura suggested.

You were never one for dive-bombing and flipping into the water like Harrison was - you were more of a ‘floating on a lilo’ kind of girl. You’d had to buy a whole new wardrobe of bikinis and one pieces for your trip, since you’d filled out a little since your last holiday. You had your eyes shut underneath your sunglasses as you lay floating in the water, basking in the sunshine. The boys were playing with a ball on the other side of the pool, Zendaya was reading on a lounger and Laura was in the kitchen prepping dinner. You heard the faint clink of keys being dropped onto a table, followed by Tom’s voice, deeper since the last time you saw him, calling out as he entered the back garden.

Woah,” he said quietly to himself, his eyes scanning the pool, pausing as his gaze reached you. You tilted your sunglasses so you could see him better, returning the smile he was giving you. You suddenly became very conscious of your bikini clad body as you noticed he was still staring.

“Get in the pool!” Harrison shouted, diverting Tom’s eyes away from you. You lay back down, watching him discreetly as he pulled off his shirt, followed by his sweatpants, leaving him in the swim trunks he was already wearing. Your eyes scanned his chiseled abs, toned pecs and strong legs. He dived over your lilo, splashing you as he hit the water, making you squeal. He winked at you as he surfaced, swimming backwards towards your brother and Jacob, his eyes still on you. Jacob threw the ball, hitting the back of Tom’s head. You laughed, closing your eyes, returning back to your sunbathing.

Aftermath ~ Huma One-Shot

Uma didn’t know how she ended up back on the shores of the Isle. The barrier kept everything out, nothing goes in and nothing goes out, that’s how she’s always known it. Maybe that’s only the case for the good things, they can’t come in and the bad things, they can’t escape it.

Uma had never had freedom until tonight. She reveled in it! Of course they were ulterior motives but still, it was like nothing she’d ever experienced before. And losing it hurt more than she’d like to admit. Her plan may not have been very well thought out but still. She had failed the other lost kids tonight, not once, but twice.

She was a failure. Defeat was not a feeling she enjoyed.

She lied there, on the black sand of the Isle, sopping wet and out of breath from swimming so hard. Tears burned her eyes but she refused to let them fall.

When she cried, which was rare, she felt weak. Uma hated feeling weak.

Instead she got up and moved to find the clothes she kept stashed behind one of the pillars that held the Isle up. She was in the water way too often to not have back up clothes hidden around here. She slipped the dress off before throwing it back into the sea. Slowly but surely she put on the rest of her captain’s uniform.

She reached for the hat but stopped herself.

It was a captain’s hat. She wondered is she even deserved to wear it anymore. How could she? Knowing that she had led her crew into a battle they didn’t win.

She was stupid to think she could’ve bested Mal at something. She never had been able to beat her before. What made her think that she could now?

Mal managed to have everything Uma ever wanted. She had Auradon and if she wanted, she could have the Isle to.

She was the ‘bad’ girl with a secret heart of gold. The thought of it made Uma sick to her stomach.

Mal was always the best and Uma was left to live in her shadow. No matter how hard she fought, how evil she forced herself to be, how hardened and emotionless she made herself, it was no use.

She couldn’t win.

Mal was Maleficent’s daughter of all.

No one even remembered Ursula’s name.

Anger filled Uma and before she could stop them , the tears started to flow. And they didn’t stop, they just kept coming and coming and Uma felt powerless. She collapsed on the sand as the rush of emotions flew out of her.

Weakness crept up on her like a deadly spider and now that’s all she could feel.

She was weak.

Completely and utterly powerless in this cruel, cruel world.

“There you are Captain, the whole crew’s been looking for you for hour-Uma?”

She froze at the sound of Harry’s voice.

“Uma, are you alright?”

She kept her head down, not responding. She just hoped he take the hint and leave her to wallow in self pity alone.

He didn’t.

“Uma, are you alright?” His tone was stronger this time, accent thicker.

She sighed before looking up at him through red eyes. She expected him to take one look a her, knees buried in the sand, a captain’s hat she didn’t deserve on the ground in front of her, tear streaks on her face and laugh. To call the whole crew over so that they could ridicule her in the most public way possible. To uuse her vulnerability against and then to take her position of power right from under her. Banishing her from the crew.

She expected him  to kick her while she was down, like they had been taught to. People here had to be rotten in order to survive and move up the ladder. That’s what she expected and she was ready for whatever kind of punishment. She deserved it, at least that’s what she thought.

But Harry didn’t, he didn’t even crack a smile at her weakened state. Instead he looked at her, looked through her, his face like stone and eyes full of concern. She watched as he walked towards her and kneeled down.

He reached up and she flinched involuntarily, he stopped for a moment before taking the clip from her hair, undoing the now messy bun, letting her braids fall down her back. He pushed a few stray ones, behind her ear gently.

He looked down before grabbing the hat and placing it on her head.

She was confused, beyond confused actually. Mind racing a thousands thoughts per second as she stare up at him. A small smile crept on to his lips at the sight of her.

“All better now Captain, all better.”

She nodded as he stood up and held his hand out. Hesitantly, as if she was awaiting some kind of sick twist to his kindness, she took it and let him pull her back up.

“Let’s get back to the ship, okay.”

Her eyes widened, she wasn’t ready to face her crew yet. Not like this.

Harry sensed it by the way her hand went rigid against his.

“Don’t worry, the crew’s not there. They’ve probably given up looking for you by now.” He assured her and Uma relaxed.

Together they made their way back to the Lost Revenge, hand in hand.

The ship was a ghost town and Uma was grateful fr that. She didn’t feel like going to the captain’s quarters right now so she made her way up the steps and to the upper deck and sat down. Harry followed.

The one good thing about the Isle was the view it had of the stars. It was beautiful.

They sat in silence for a moment, until Uma spoke up.

“Why are you here Hook? You could’ve ratted me out and took control of the ship and my crew. Why didn’t you?”

Her voice was more fragile then she wanted it to be but she didn’t dwell. Harry had proven she could trust him.

She watched as he took a deep breath, eyes never leaving the stars above.

“Ever since I was a young lad my father has wanted me to be a part of a crew. And now I am, thanks to you. And besides, once my sister’s got their own ships, their own crew, I could see the toll it takes on them. To be a captain and all. It’s hardens them, makes them responsible for others. I know better than to think that I’m cut out for it. But you are Uma.”

He took his eyes off the sky and turned to face her.

“You’re a good a captain, one of the best the Isle has ever known. And so what is one plan didn’t work out, knowing you, they’ll be others. I’m your first mate captain, I’d follow you into the dark if you asked me to.”

Uma smiled and for a moment the world didn’t seem so cruel. Life didn’t suck as much, it was good, in that moment at least.

And so she did something people did in those moments.

She kissed him.

And sure they had kissed before, but not like this. The others were always quick and heated, always during their lonely lustful encounters. Whenever the Isle became too much and they couldn’t take it, when they needed a distraction.

But this wasn’t a distraction.

This was different, this actually meant something. It was soft and gentle.

Probably the most vulnerable either one of them had been in a long time.

They fell asleep in the bed of the captain’s quarters. And no it wasn’t after meaningless sex, in fact they hadn’t had sex. Kissed a few times, talked, stayed together, but no sex.

And somehow tonight, meant more than any of those other nights combined.

Uma didn’t want to sleep alone, and neither did Harry.

They wouldn’t sleep alone for many nights to come.

Hogwarts!Shawn Blurb

a/n: this is me procrastinating because i don’t have a plot line anymore because i forgot it so i don’t know where i was going with this, so this is all i have, so enjoy what little bullshit i’m giving you like this isn’t even worth posting but like whatever #amirite?

“Shawn, c’mon man!” Matt yells from the Gryffindor Common Room into the boy’s dormitories. “If we’re late again, Wood is going to have our asses!”

“Yeah, yeah, I’m coming!” Shawn yells back, throwing his guitar in his case and shoving it under his bed before grabbing his robe and dashing down the stairs.

Shawn and Matt hurry through the halls of Hogwarts towards the quidditch pitch on the south keep where practice is about to begin. When they arrive on the field, the captain, Oliver Wood, is already staring them down, shooting an annoyed glare their way.

“Mendes, Camick, you’re late. Again.” Wood screeches at the boys as they hustle with their brooms to the center of the pitch.

“Sorry, won’t happen again,” Shawn promises, but Oliver shakes his head.

“Camick, get to the rings. Mendes, take a seat. This is your third time being late—you know what that means.” Wood orders, and Shawn’s eyes widen in disbelief.

“What? You’re kidding right?” Shawn detests. “This is the Ravenclaw match! There’s only two more games before Slytherin! You can’t bench me, not now!”

Oliver shakes his head again and whisks his broom off the ground. “Sorry Mendes, rules are rules. Don’t be late again.”

New Girl - Seven

One | Two | Three | Four | Five | Six

I crept out of my room at around six in the morning, a small travel bag in my hand filled with clothes, shower/bathroom necessities, and my phone and laptop chargers. “Where are you going?” I stopped with my hand on the front door’s doorknob at the sound of Harrison’s voice. I turned around and faced him, a guilty look on my face as he had caught me red-handed. His eyes shifted to the bag in my hand and his eyebrows pulled in, in confusion. “Are you okay?” I put a finger to his lips, trying to indicate I wanted him to speak in a lower voice.

“I don’t want to wake up Tom.” Harrison nodded, walking over to me and pulling me into his room, which was the farthest from all of ours, the room on the other side of the loft. He quietly shut the door and turned to me, signaling me to sit on his bed. Once we both got ourselves situated, the questions began.

“Why do you have a bag? Is it packed? I thought you weren’t moving in with Tony, didn’t you guys break-up? Jacob’s gonna kill you.”

“YOU”
You. You came into my life slowly and then all at once. And I can’t lie I sometimes think about what life could be like with just us. But honestly I’m scared. Scared to think of what the future might have in store for you and I. Hesitant to move forward in fear of our paths no longer connecting. I’m so on &I’m off. Sometimes I feel like the signs are clear and then something throws me off. And I start to think, I guess you’re used to things like that. I’m sure every person you come across treats you right because it’s clear you’re the wife me up type. But I guess that means the effort I put in May sometimes go unseen. To you it’s a normality. To me the realm of factuality is what holds me back. Scared that instead of a blessing you’ll be a lesson. And that in reality you…you were sent by those who want to see me break. Those cruel souls that allowed me to see the path of love but lead me to a dead end. And then counter factual thinking begins to play instead. Every thought lead to a different what if. Thoughts that pulled me back when I wanted to give up. Thoughts that made me want to run when I would start to picture a happy future ahead. And so I deleted the thread but you wouldn’t leave my head. So much time spent with you but was any of it true? I became so infatuated by the idea that you might be the one that I overlooked the truth. I prayed to god that you wouldn’t turn out like the others. If I had my druthers in time you would be mine. I can honestly picture a happy life with you by my side. But reality isn’t one to hide and the truth can be hard to deny. And then I stop and think who am I to define what you feel inside? All these thoughts kept in mind. And now I’m left perplexed trying to figure out if you could ever be mine despite the many signs. And yet I wonder from where does all this hope derive? You given me so little rarely ever met me in the middle. Still here I stand with all my cards at hand. Some may call it stupid or naive, call it whatever you please but I’ll wear my heart on my sleeve and take rejection instead of deception. Or could I be your one exception? Tell me that you feel a connection and I swear everyday you’ll be my selection. Your wants and your needs will never be of objection. But if there was a misconception I couldn’t terminate this friendship. You mean much more than these feeling that I hold. And I want you to know that you’re worth whatever the road has in store. Be it good or bad I wouldn’t take it back. Even if I’m just a story to tell or a chapter with the end, I pray those memories never fail to bring a smile to your face. And when you look back I hope happiness is the only feeling you get. But until then I plan to make it so you never forget no matter how many attempts. Cuz my only intent is to give you the best. But until then the rest is yet to be said…

“So is Scott cute?” Your roommate, Hanna, asked.

“Yea, he is, and he’s single too. He’s kind of not over his ex though which actually really sucks, because he definitely deserves better.” You replied.

“And how did you meet all of them again?” Sarah, your other roommate, asked.

“Oh, Scott sits next to me in Western Civ. and we just started hanging out.”

“But Stiles is the one you like?” Hanna confirmed.

“Yea.”

“What kind of name is Stiles anyway?” Sarah questioned. You looked at her, furrowing your brow and then shrugged. You didn’t actually know the answer to that question. You intended on finding out.

my flower - part 1

Pairing: prince! xu minghao x reader

Summary: “A flower for my flower.”

Part: 1/?

“He did it again!”

I look up from the bouquet I was making and quirk an eyebrow at the person making a loud fuss. Prince Minghao lets out a loud groan and plops himself on the chair in front of me. I smirk, knowing very well who he was talking about.

“What did Mingyu do now?”

“He came over earlier today and cheated when we were playing games!”

“How terrible, how could he do such a thing?” I giggle and he huffs, running a hand through his hair. I finish making the bouquet and turn away to put the ribbon on it when he groans again. “I thought you told him to stop cheating?”

“I did, but he found a loophole.”

“He must be learning from prince Jeonghan.”

“That’s not a good thing!”

“I know it’s not.” I giggle and put away the bouquet before turning back to the prince. I grab the little flowers next to me and bring them up to our eye levels. “But you love the both of them too much to complain.”

He groans, knowing I was right. I lean over and remove his crown, placing a small dandelion in its place. Minghao leans towards me, allowing me to place more dandelions in his hair. His frown turns into a smile and a blush creeps onto his cheeks as he stares at me. Then, he smiles widely and giggles.

“Did you pick these this morning?”

“Mm, I thought dandelions would look nice on you.”

“But I look good with any flower?”

“I suppose you’re right,” I laugh.

“Did you finish anything today?” He asks, peeking at the flowers behind me. I shake my head and sigh.

“There were so many requests for bouquets this morning that I haven’t been able to do anything else.”

“I can help set up the shop if you’d like?”

“Only you would get excited over setting up a flower shop.”

“It’s because I get to spend time with you,” Minghao mumbles, walking away to put the flowers in their spots. I turn away, retrieving the flowers and materials I need to make bouquets. “Did you know Seokmin cried the other day?”

“Aw, what about?”

“He got sentimental and started crying.”

“He’s such a sweetheart when it comes to his kingdom.”

“And I’m not?”

“I didn’t say that, you dork.”

“You were implying it.”

“Minghao. You’re my best friend and all, but I’m ready to fight you.”

“Bring it on.” He looks over his shoulder and smirks at me. I shake my head and roll my eyes, smiling. Minghao suddenly places the flowers down next to the big pots before walking up to me. I look at up at him and he smiles. “I almost forgot.”

“Forgot what?”

“A flower for my flower.”

“Intimidating Minghao can be cheesy?” I gasp and laugh when he pouts.

“Fine, then I’ll take it back.”

“Aw come on, I was just teasing. I love it, thank you.”

“I told you when we were young that I’d bring you a flower every time I visited.”

“But then I told you that the royal garden would be flowerless if you did that since you visit everyday.”

“So now it’s just once a week.”

“It’s my favorite day when you bring me one.” I smile.

“Not on other days where you only get me? I’m hurt.”

“I love those days more than anything, you dork.”

“I know. My flower just can’t resist me.”

A bell atop of the door rings and Minghao walks away, allowing me to tend to the customer. A group of giggling girls walk through the door, their eyes widening when they spot the prince. They scurry to the counter, requesting to pick up their bouquets. I was in the midst of getting them while they kept looking back to the prince.

“Are these for the prince?” I ask. They nod, glancing back and forth between Minghao and I. “I’m sure he’ll like them.”

They quickly pay before walking towards the door, making sure to blow kisses at the prince. Minghao watches in amusement when they erupt in fits of giggles from making him smile. Truthfully, he just found their actions to be funny.

“What a ladies’ man.” I tease, placing my chin on my hand atop of the table. He rolls his eyes and smiles.

“There’s going to be more of that at the party tonight, but with them clinging onto me as well.”

“They just can’t resist your charm.”

“Just like you can’t either.”

“What can I say? I’m a sucker for the prince with flowers in his hair.”

His cheeks grow red as he sits down in front of me. I smile, glancing at the flowers in his hair.

“Maybe I should make you a flower crown to wear instead of that gold one.”

“As long as you make one for yourself.”

I smile, handing him some flowers and materials. He grins, instantly sitting up straight and watches until I put the last of them on the table. The two of us sit in silence, making bouquets when a sweaty, tired butler comes running through the door. He’s bent over, trying to catch his breath as Minghao and I look at each other, grinning.

“There you are, prince Minghao.”

“Where else would I be?”

“At the castle where you’re supposed to be,” I say and he rolls his eyes, smiling.

“The king and queen have requested for you to come back to the castle.”

“Ah, already? I wanted to spend more time with my flower before going to the party.” He groans, gently placing the half made bouquet down before standing up. I stand up and bow, resulting in Minghao shaking his head. He gently pushes my back up, having me stand up straight. “You know you don’t have to bow to me, my flower.”

I nod and watch as Minghao leaves with the butler, waving and smiling when he leaves. I shake my head and smile, going back to making bouquets. Not even a few minutes later, the prince comes running back into the shop.

“I convinced him to let me spend more time with you.”

“You did?” I quirk an eyebrow and cross my arms.

“I did, using my charm.”

“So how long do you have until he notices you ran away?”

“About a few minutes,” Minghao says and I laugh, shaking my head.

“Naughty, naughty little prince.”

He takes my hands in his hands and smiles. Our eyes meet and I blush from the way he looks at me. Minghao raises my hand and places a kiss on my knuckles.

“I’ll see you tomorrow, my flower,” He whispers before letting go and walking out of the shop. I scoff, a smile growing on my lips.

“What a charmer.”

“make the princess speak and you will have the crown of kings.”

my knees hurt, as usual, from scrubbing. technically i’m too high of Maid Station to help out with these things, but i like seeing what happens when you clean. the development of things. how a lot of effort can make something. i like learning and trying and working hard to get towards something.

and i’ve seen them, from the back of pillars, from behind cracked doors, from beside her (on the best days) the way they talk to her. oh beautiful won’t you just look at me. oh darling. if you speak i’ll be your prince. if you speak i’ll be your king.

the princess, i know, finds the lines of suitors boring. it’s in the way her hands are always moving. she hides yawns, leaves early, we make her apologies. once, a man comes and tries to startle her into screaming. she rolls her eyes and looks directly at me. i have to hide my smile behind my sleeve. he is taken away while still screaming.

by accident, i find her once, crying. when we imagine princesses, they always cry daintily. hers is hoarse, angry, and something in it breaks me. in my station i should apologize and bow and leave. instead i am frozen, watching her shoulders heaving.

she looks up and spots me, her cheeks ruddy. i know i should go but instead i make a big show. i act as one of her princes. i make grand gestures and speak in deep voices. i frantically offer her handkerchiefs and trip over my own two feet. a smile crawls up over her, slowly. i dab my sweat away and offer her the used rag. i feign a fluster, turn a terrible cartwheel, make shadow puppets. the sound of her laugh, raw and rusty, sends shivers through me.

for a while, i do not see her after this. but then i am called to her chambers. she is crying again. i offer silly gifts, pebbles and dusting rags and a candlestick from her own kitchen, pretend to steal it, use it as a hat, rock it as a babe. she laughs more easily this time, gladly, and when she laughs i am taken by more important maids, thereby officially Excused.

it goes like this for months. the winter comes. i rarely see her. i spend my week thinking about ways to please her. i knick interesting cookies, show her shiny buttons, learn to cartwheel in a full skirt, and then promptly how to make it look foolish again. i learn how to juggle hot bread and dance as a man would, i learn how to balance on a ball and how to fall down without hurting myself, how to fake a fight with my own body, which colors she likes and which don’t please her.

i show up on a cold eve with a knotted line of scarves hidden down my sleeve, worried and breathless, wondering why she’s been crying. the door opens and she is sitting there, happy. at first i’m confused, but she waves me in. next to her is her small dessert, in two containers. i’m not sure how to respond, so i fake a fall to hear her laugh, and then sit at her feet. she gives me ice cream - so rare a treat. i know what went into making it - the hours of shaking. it’s smooth and tasty. i don’t feign my reaction, but she laughs anyway, kindly.

it goes like this. i see her more frequently. she likes giving me new things, watching me discover i hate kiwi and love oranges and would die if it made her laugh breathlessly. i’ve made her keel over with cackling and she’s put a fire in me. sometimes we just sit there, quietly, enjoying each other’s company.

it’s in her hands, always moving. little things i thought were just her, fidgeting. here’s how she says she’s thirsty, this is what her hands do when she needs a second to think, here’s how she shows she’s happy. this is how i learn to speak back to her. around her i spend much of my time smiling. i feel every visit is a gift. a new part to unravel. i find out she doesn’t respond to spoken things, that she needs to be looking in order to know you were speaking. sometimes she has me talk and she holds her hands to the base of my throat, her eyes wide and wondering. sometimes she just looks at me and i forget that i’m her jester in chief. i get caught up in her eyes, in how expressive they are when she’s happy, in how when she’s sad i feel like i’m drowning.

i never see the king or queen, but i know when she’s had a visit with them, because she never comes back happy. two winters i have known her, two winters and now we dine frequently. i am often called to stand beside her, to whisper translations of her desires into the ears of someone more important than i, someone who gets to be the voice of royalty. i can’t decide if i’m her friend or her plaything, but i don’t know i care much of the distinction. every moment i’m near her is a moment free of friction. i take stock of suitors and curtsy to them in daylight only to mock them in the candle’s eye later.

she asks me one night to stay. it has been a bad day. it’s completely not okay. i cannot say no but i cannot, by my station, stay. but she begs with her eyes and her hands and i know i’ll take the punishment.

we lie beside each other. i make sure to turn to her when i speak. in the dark she can’t see me, so i move my hands in the way i’m learning. she asks if i am ever lonely. i cannot tell her that i am always lonely without her beside me, so instead i say i think all people are very lonely and just are pretending. she laughs a little at that and says she thinks her parents are the two most lonely people that ever met. her mother was like her; broke a fairy curse and talked, just once, although nobody knows what she said. well, excepting her father, who was the only one around, and who won her hand in marriage.

from her mother she learned the art of hands, of speaking without words - from her father she learned that who she was included a curse. that she just wanted someone who would make her open like a rose - someone who could fix her. how she stared out into the royal garden and wished on flowers to be what her kingdom needs.

she fell asleep pressed against me. i couldn’t breathe. i was still awake in the morning.

the punishment never came. we spent nights like this. the handmaidens had grown to know me. whenever their princess was stubborn, i worked magic and made her lovely.

it was a terrible thing. i did too good a job, i think. the princess glowed too much or shone too brightly - or at least, i saw it that way, so who knows what the truth is. every day it felt like we were being rushed with princes.

her father’s temper at hosting failed. it was the day before her twenty-first birthday and first time i’d ever seen him. he stormed in at the end of the session. “just speak!” he said, “it’s not that hard! do for others what your mother did!”

“tomorrow is your last day of this,” he warned her, “either you pick a prince or i pick for you. i’m done with it.”

he stormed off. she was left shellshocked and trembling. that night she didn’t ask me to come, but i waited outside, just in case she changed her mind. i understood why she needed space. either she’d speak and be married tomorrow or she’d be married shortly. i heard her crying and it took everything in my power not to rush in and hold her, cradle her gently. but i cannot come into a room of a royal person without being invited. i stayed there, tears in my own eyes, thinking of treason.

the next day was a huge festival. what had been a birthday celebration was turned into a day about princes. i watched her shake her head. i tried to cheer her up. i tried everything. i frequently came inches from causing public humiliation, toed the line of mocking and failing to acknowledge my station. she wouldn’t smile. not once. not even for anything.

the day was long. the bonfire wore down. i watched her crumple into herself. i was out of ideas. i knelt at her feet. her eyes barely looked at me. just wait, i said to her with my hands, i’ll be right back. i took off running.

the price of stealing is losing my hands. these things that i spoke to her with. these things that mattered so much to me, that helped with my comedy and cleaning.

i didn’t think of them. i bloodied my fingers when i ripped the royal roses from their stems. and then i ran, as fast as i could, back to her feet. i picked them to show you, i said, as she gasped, looking at my treason, they’re beautiful and nobody told them to open to reveal their secrets to the bees. they are unbroken. as you are. as you always will be.

she fell off her throne and for a second i was beyond speaking, worried something had happened, or she’d fainted, or i’d said the wrong thing. but then she was on her knees, her arms around me, and i heard it. i heard the soft croak of her speaking. just one word, and it sent shivers down me. my name, in her voice, awkward and unwieldy, but full of love and passion, burning fire through me.

i felt a hand on my shoulder. i was pulled away from her. they already had me in handcuffs while i struggled to get back to her, to tell her i loved her, to beg her to run off with me or maybe just hold me around her, maybe just have her for a moment, because i couldn’t live without her for a moment longer.

they put me in the cells. i rotted in there, for a while or for no time at all, i’m not sure. the thorns scarred my palms. i watched the scabs build up and flake off. every time someone came down, i flinched, wondering if i would be the next to be taken and chopped into bits.

but one day the light was different. not the smoky torch of the jailer, instead a bright light in a lantern. at first when i saw her, my breath caught in my throat, mistaking her for my princess.

but she was my queen. at first we stood in silence. and slowly, i moved my hands to speak. is she married? is what came out, even though i should be more worried about me myself and me.

she is not. she bit her father on the arm when he tried to make her. then she fought him. and then ran away. it took us a bit to find her, i’m afraid. she threatened her own life and the life of everyone in this place. the queen was smiling. i was told there was a young woman who could make the princess speak, whom she would die to save, who brought roses to her feet. someone in a cell, rotting. are you her?

the memory of her voice rang through me. i’m she.

yes, her hands said, for even now, aren’t you speaking to the silent Queen?

she opened the door. come, she said, let’s get you cleaned up for the ceremony.

the crown of kings. when she wraps her arms around my neck and laughs next to me, i am royalty. when she smiles or makes a joke or asks to see my cartwheel again, i’m lost in her. i kiss her whenever i can, which is often. we have roses in a vase at the base of our bed, and for all of the kingdom, i’d give my hands if it would keep her laughing.

the next time she spoke was just once, at our wedding, where she said the two words i do to bind us for eternity. she had learned from me, from holding her hands over my voicebox, the way i learned from her how to use hands to speak. sometimes at night she says my name, just because she likes what it does to me.

i’m more blessed than a king. every day i spend with her is a day i spend happily.

Joseph Christiansen Secret/Cult Ending Manuscript

I went digging through the Level 18 gibberish and sorted out all the dialogue into a manageable manuscript if anyone is interested in reading this secret wild ride. None of the dialouge is labeled so I did my best to interprete who was saying what so any mistakes are my bad. It took a few hours to put together but I felt like some people would like more than just a summary so here is the full text:

MC will be short for Main Character or your player.

Level 18- Joseph Bad Ending or True Ending ( Who knows? )

This appears to take place after MC and Joseph Christiansen engage in sex in the yacht, except you don’t wake up to what you expect. This takes place in Cult_Dungeon1.

START: You’re A Monster

MC: Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn. What time is it? Must have been asleep for ages. I wonder what will happen now that Mary is gone? What about Joseph’s kids? And how will Amanda feel about all this? That’s what matters… . Well, we all have each other. I guess time will tell, right? Better get up and greet the day.

Am I tied up?! What the hell?! How did I get here? What’s going on?! Joseph? Anybody? You’re probably just dreaming. Why would there be a… Don’t panic… . a dungeon. An evil dungeon. Why would there be an evil dungeon here? This can’t be real. Maybe I had too much Twilight Rouge. I’m dreaming, or something.

???:

Oh, I guarantee this is real.

MC:

I can barely make out any features. I can see someone at the end of the hall. It’s just a shape! Who’s there? Can you untie me?

???:

It’s a personal guarantee. A verbal handshake.

MC:

Please, I don’t know how I got here. I think there has been a mistake

Trust, if that’s what you get off on- [???]

Joseph:

You trust me, right? I mean, why wouldn’t you?

MC:

You’re into this kind Joseph?! Jesus, what is this? Are you into this kind of thing? I wish you’d have warned me.

Hah! Ha ha!

Joseph:

Goal oriented, anchored by family. The rock in a shallow sea. I had a whale of a time last night. I always liked you, [INSERT PLAYER NAME]. And down to pound, if you catch my meaning. Get it? Whale? We talked extensively about whales last night? You don’t really like them? You’re not in a joking mood. I get that.

MC:

His voice is different. This whole situation is different. The way he’s talking-

Joseph [ DIFFICULT TO TRANSLATE ]:

That one’s good-

Dastardly? Sadistic? It can be both. Throw another one in there. Wrathful.

MC:

Wait! How did he-!

Joseph:

I’m very perceptive. A good listener. I heard all those impure thoughts, [INSERT PLAYER NAME], and about a married man, no less. I’m pretty sure that’s a sin.

MC:

Who are you?

Joseph:

I told you, I’m a cool youth minister. Have you seen my tattoos? Were you even watching me tear it up on the dance floor?  Well, hi. My name is Joseph. I have an alcoholic whore wife, whose life I destroyed. You used to be a lot more fun.

MC:

Poor Mary! And their kids!

Joseph:

Joseph laughs. My kids? Those aren’t my kids. Well, they are my kids. In a way. Cosmically. I guess you could call them vessels. And in that case I guess that technically makes me not a Dad. Woops. Sorry to kill that little fantasy for you.

MC:

Joseph, this is insane. So the whole minister thing… that’s just a front for this weird sex dun-

Joseph:

Joseph starts laughing hysterically. He wipes a tear from his eye. Oh, that’s so cute. You think this is a sex thing. I mean, it’s kind of a sex thing. The safe word is Jimmy Buffett.

[INSERT PLAYER NAME], there are powers at work so far beyond your understanding that the very idea that I would sink to some half-baked sex game is a little insulting. All that religion mumbo-jumbo wasn’t entirely false. I am a man of the cloth, just not the cloth you’re thinking of.

I am the conduit for something beautiful, [INSERT PLAYER NAME]. Something pure. And you have the honor of being part of it. I know that sounds kinda hokey but stick with me. I promise I’ll get back to being relatably cool in a second. Where you really are is under the house. Or I guess, under the houses.

MC:

The houses? Are we under the cul-de-sac?

Joseph:

Hey, deductive reasoning! Points for [INSERT PLAYER NAME]!

MC:

How did nobody notice a dungeon underneath the town? Somebody would have had to.

Joseph:

Everyone who figured it out, that is .. All dead..

And it’s not a dungeon. Dungeons are for old castles and twelve year olds. This place is how would I describe … inhabiting many spaces. The betweens of the world. The gaps in mathematics. It’s quite simply beyond you, I’m afraid.

Just think of it as the real Margarita Zone.

MC:

This is too much. My head hurts.

Joseph:

[INSERT PLAYER NAME] ever wonder where all the wives and husbands in town went? Why everyone’s an eligible single father?

MC:

…I just thought it was a coincidence.

Joseph:

Nothing’s a coincidence, idiot. No town in America has such a concentration of eligible, willing Dads.

And do you want to know why?

MC:

I don’t know if I do, Joseph.

Joseph:

Because of me. Because of my work. Because of my loyalty.

MC:

You’re insane.

Loyalty?

Joseph:

How many couples have I pushed to divorce? How many wives and husbands have I hunted in the dark?

MC:

Wait! Amanda’s Mother/Father- It can’t be!

Joseph:

I unfortunately can’t take credit for that one. It seems entropy beat me to the punch.

MC:

I don’t know if that’s a relief or not.

Joseph:

But man, what if I had? The look on your face would’ve been priceless. Maple Bay is a psychic beacon of unfathomable power, but it requires sacrifice. It needs to feed on those deep, unquenchable pangs of anguish. And all to get these very good friends of ours here, in my town, and my father’s town, and his father before him. Hurting for human touch. Praying for the salvation of kindness.

Of course you don’t. You were out there gallivanting about, seducing all the hottest single Dads. Meddling in something you have no understanding of. A greatness you could not conceive.

Out there, in the dark of the sea, lies something that has been waiting to return for a hundred million years. It showed the path to Jonah, my ancient ancestor, as it has shown the path to me.

And I will fuck each Dad whose life I destroy until the shame and stink of their failures has returned our eternal king to life. The fuel of a hundred thousand rank darknesses of the soul.

MC:

I don’t understand.

Joseph:

Wow. Do you have anything you’d like to say?

MC:

I’ll kill you if it’s the last thing I do. What about Amanda?

Joseph:

Just kidding! You don’t get to choose. I know you’re used to being in control here. But now it’s my turn. And don’t worry yourself about Amanda.

MC:

If you touch her …

Joseph:

Please, [INSERT PLAYER NAME], give me some credit. Look at my pedigree. If I do my job, I won’t even have to.

Now if you’ll excuse me, there’s some other business I need to attend to. Your dear friend Robert has been awfully worried about you. I think it’s about time that miserable drunk gets one last visit from the Dover Ghost. A beautiful nightmare, wouldn’t you agree?

MC:

This is a nightmare.

Joseph (or Self Reflection?):

All along you’ve been living a dream, Daddy.

Now it’s time to wake

MC:

Oh man. This is bad. This is very bad. How long was I out? When is he coming back? How do I get out of here?

A hand slips over my mouth.

???:

Don’t say anything. Hell, don’t even think anything. It’s okay, [INSERT PLAYER NAME]. It’s me [… Mary …]. I’m gonna get you out of here.

MC:

She kneels down and starts working on the ropes around my ankles.

Mary:

I gotta be honest, I didn’t like you at first.

MC:

I guess I did try to break up your marriage

Mary:

Shh! Shut up for once. Look, truth is I feel sorry for you. I feel sorry for the both of us. I don’t think you’re a bad person, despite what you might think of me.

I don’t want it to end like this. Not again.

MC:

I raise my eyebrows at her.

Mary:

Come on. Who do you think lived in that house before you? Don’t think about it. Not right now.

He’s coming. Run, kid.

MC:

Mary finishes untying me and disappears.

I have to get out of here. I get out of the chair and run as fast as I can down the hallway outside of my holding cell.

Eventually I run out of breath. I can’t keep sprinting. Not with these Dad knees.

I check myself. All I have are the clothes on my back and this thing in my pocket. The pocket knife that Robert gave me. If I have to defend myself, this is all I have.

Looking ahead of me, I can’t see the end of the hallway as it bends further up there. I look back and can’t even see where I started. I guess the only thing I can do is keep going and hope there’s a way out on the other end. If there is an other end …

The hallway bends and twists. Sometimes it gets smaller, to the point where I have to crawl on my hands and knees to get through. Sometimes it expands into a great cavern where I can’t even see the ceiling. I see no way out other than to keep moving forward.

I don’t know how long I’ve been walking, but my body aches with soreness. I’m long past dehydration. My head is pounding. My vision is blurred. I lean up against the walls of the hallway for support.

I’m not sure how I’m still going.

And yet still here I am. I’ve been walking for what I think must be days. It could be weeks or months.

The exhaustion has sunk into my bones. I drift in and out of consciousness. I think I’ve slept, if you can call it sleep. My dreams are plagued with nightmares of being chased down this hallway. I see Joseph’s kids. They hide in the shadows. They’re coming to drag me back to Joseph.

Oh god, Joseph. I can see his face so clearly in those dreams.’

I don’t know why I keep moving, why I keep placing one foot in front of the other. My clothes are tattered and my shoes have worn through.

My hell is inescapable.

Until …

It’s a door. A door at the dead end of the hallway.

I place my hand on the knob, seeing for the first time my gnarled fingernails and stretched, papery skin. I open the door and walk through.

…I’m in my house?! How did that!?

Amanda rushes into the room, wrapping her arms around me in a ferocious bear hug.

Amanda:

Dad! Where have you been?! Are you okay? I tried calling you like thirty times!

MC:

A…Amanda?

Amanda:

What happened? Did the boat break down or something?

MC: Oh? I.. um..

Amanda:

You know what? I’m just glad you’re home.

MC:

I look down and at myself and my clothes. They’re there. My shoes are on. My fingernails aren’t gnarled.

I feel fine. I hug Amanda again. Nothing has ever felt as good in my entire life. I have to choke back tears of relief. Amanda! I’m so glad to see you. You have no idea.

Amanda:

Wow, one night at sea. You didn’t see a whale, did you? You poor thing.

MC:

No whale could keep me from my daughter.

Amanda:

You’re damn right. You know what? You need breakfast. A very greasy breakfast.

MC:

That sounds amazing.

Amanda skips out of the room.

This is all so confusing! Was it a dream?

Amanda:

By the way, is it okay if Emma P. comes over tonight?

MC:

Emma P.?

Amanda:

You know, my best friend?

MC:

Oh, sure. Wait! I thought- isn’t Emma R. your best friend? She has red hair? You do art together? You pooped in her bed during that sleepover one time?

Amanda:

Oh right, my mistake. Teenager brain, you know?

MC:

I sit down on the couch, suddenly very exhausted. All I want is to have a big plate of hashbrowns with my daughter by my side while I quietly work on my word jumbles. I reach over to the coffee table and grab my trusty book of jumbles.

This is- this is a crossword puzzle.

I stare at it for too long.

Hey Amanda.

Amanda:

Amanda pops her head in from the kitchen. Workin’ hard on these eggs, Dadtron. If you want the perfect over-medium I gotta be in the zone.

MC:

When’s your birthday?

Amanda:

Why, did you get me something?

MC:

No, seriously. When’s your birthday?

Amanda:

Do I have to answer this? My birthday? Dad, really?

MC:

I have seen a lot of weird stuff today, Amanda. Humor me

Amanda Demon (AmandaDemon):

… It’s My birthday …

Nothing gets past you, huh?

You know, I almost had you going there for a sec. Was it the crossword puzzle that gave it away? You know, I try so hard to nail the details

Like, cooking you breakfast? Over-medium eggs with hash browns? Come on. That’s so you.

And my Amanda impression? I really think I stuck the landing on her irreverent yet wholesome tone. The whole aromatic pixie dream daughter thing? I should’ve been on Broadway with these chops

… .

I feel like you’re not appreciating how much work I’ve put in here.

Amanda turns ash black, her clothes, hair and bracelets collapsing into concentric rings of pitch-dark smoke.

Cracks begin to form along the walls around me. I look down and see the floor collapsing in tiles. As the wall crumble I see where I truly am.

Joseph:

Almost got away, huh? You’re a crafty one, aren’t you? Dunno how you got out of those ropes. Oh right! Mary! She’s rocking the tag team with you, isn’t she? Mary! Funny, here I was thinking marriage was about trust.

You know I thought I was gonna take care of Robert, and then here you were trying to make your escape and honestly [INSERT PLAYER NAME] you’re just killing my whole timeline here.

MC:

Wait, Robert! As quick as I can, I pull his folding knife out of my pocket and lunge for Joseph, throwing all my force into him. Joseph knocks the knife out of my hand. It skitters across the room.

Aw, man.

Joseph:

[INSERT PLAYER NAME], I thought we were cool. I thought we had a thing here. What happened to Margarita Zone?

Welp, sorry bud, but I guess I’m gonna have to do ya dirty. Doing you dirty means I have to kill you.

Joseph wraps his hands around my neck, smiling as he tightens his grip

What’s wrong? You were so into this last night

MC:

I have no strength left to fight him.

This is it. Isn’t it?

The world goes quiet around me.

All I can think about is Amanda. I miss her so much.

I’m sorry Amanda. I love you more than anything.

Please be good.

[ Mary_noblink ] [ Joseph_pain ]

Joseph:

Joseph’s eyes go wide. He releases his grip on me and I gasp in air. He turns around.

Mary:

It’s over, Joseph.

Joseph:

Honey, sweetie, you’ve stabbed me …

Mary:

You stole so much of my life from me.

Joseph:

Joseph backs away from Mary, clutching the wound on his shoulder.

Sweetheart, we can work this out.

Mary:

I’m done with you

Chris:

Father.

Chris peeks into the doorway behind Mary. He looks¦ different. Behind him are Christian, Christie, and Crish, who all creep into the room

Father, we’re so hungry. Won’t you feed us, Father?

Mary:

Hey, sailor. Mary turns to me and holds out a hand. It’s time to go.

MC:

I look back into the room at the horror I had escaped. The children corner Joseph as I crawl to Mary, who pulls me into the hallway. The more I look at it, the more it seems to break my mind. I turn away, my head pounding.

Joseph:

This body is but a conduit, Mary! I’ll see you in your nightmares! //Joseph laughing sfx

MC:

What the hell! My eyes open and I shoot up in bed, gasping for air.

Amanda:

Dad! Amanda leaps off of the chair in my room and attacks me with a hug.

MC:

Amanda! This is the best hug of my life.

Amanda:

I was so worried about you!

MC:

I’m so happy to see her again. Wait … Amanda, what’s your birthday?

Amanda:

Dad, did you forget again? Remember? You got me a record player and we ate an ice cream cake at the beach? But then I dropped the ice cream cake and got sand all over it? It’s March 22nd.

MC:

I remember that. Panda I missed you so much. What- What happened?

Amanda:

You don’t remember? The yacht sank. The rescue crews had to pull you out of the water. That was a few days ago.

MC:

Where’s Joseph?

Amanda:

Nobody’s seen him since. They found something in the Yacht wreckage. Some documents that showed he was embezzling funds from the church. Wait There’s a detective here who has been waiting to talk to you. He’s nice but he’s drinking all of our coffee. Lemme go grab him.

MC:

Yeah. Amanda, I love you so much.

Amanda:

I love you too, Dad.

Amanda skips out of the room, and in a moment Mary enters with … the guy I saw in the hallway

Mary:

Rise and shine, bucko.

MC:

Mary, are you okay?

Mary:

You know it was a real shame, what happened to Joseph. I had no idea he was doing what he was doing to the church. And I can’t believe he ran once the feds showed up, leaving me to take care of our four beautiful children on my own

But don’t worry, they’re staying with my parents out in the midwest til this all blows over.

Mary stares at me, waiting for me to say something.

MC:

[ Missing Dialouge?? ]

Good answer.

Saul:

Glad to see you’ve both got your story straight.

Mary:

I’m happy you’re okay. I was worried about you.

MC:

Thanks, Mary.

Mary:

Mary cracks a smile before turning and leaving my room. Take it sleazy, fellas.

Saul:

Once the door closes, the man pulls up a chair and sits next to my bed. You don’t know me, but I know a lot about you, {INSERT PLAYER NAME}. Been keeping tabs on you for a while.

MC:

Who are you?

Saul:

Graves. Detective Saul Graves.

There’s strange and mysterious forces at work here in Maple Bay.

What you saw down there- what we both saw down there- I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to forget it. And I get the feeling that you won’t be able to, either.

But it’s my job to get to the bottom of this.

MC:

So what does this mean for me?

Saul:

It means to live your life like none of this ever happened. Go be happy. Go raise your daughter. Go fall in love.

Be well, [INSERT PLAYER NAME].

Saul walks to the door of my bedroom, but stops. He turns to me. And I know it’s hard to raise a kid as a single parent. Even I lost my wife under mysterious circumstances. Little Barry and I have been on our own for a while now, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned through all of this, it’s that us Dads have to help each other.

Get some rest. But if you’re not doing anything later, maybe you give me a call out.

See? This is the bullshit I’m talking about. I get it. We all get it guys, we’re all impatient about when it will come out, it’s been a while, yadda yadda yadda. But being a fucking asshole about it isn’t going to make the game come out faster.

The game is still in development you know why? Because it’s not fucking finished. Be it polish they need to add, fixing bugs around, or maybe working on part of Act 2 or maybe 3 even to make sure things do tie up at the end and there’s no programming mess that deletes your saved data, the WhatPumpkin team is working on the damn thing.

If it was a matter of, the game is done 100% and it’s not being released for some asinine reason, or like a bigger company that was waiting to release an already made game in Christmas, then yeah! Sure, go ahead, complain, tell them to release it already and stop making us wait. But this is not the case, the game is being MADE, and your incessant nagging about ‘when when when where’ only makes you look like entitled little children.

There was radio silence about Hiveswap for the longest time. Allegedly because of legal issues, with so, so very few updates. The game changed house early in development, the style switched from 3D to 2D, this game has had so many awful hiccups, and people were desperate to hear ANYTHING about it. So once they think they got the game pinned down, they release a trailer with what they think will be the release date- Except it’s not. Because Game Development can be messy and this isn’t a Triple-A Company that will rush a videogame to match some date and schedule and then just slowly patch a buggy mess of a game, this is a group of people working together on a passion project about a setting both the author and many of themselves are in love with.

So sure, they missed the original deadline. Then they put out another trailer without a specific date, publicly said they will not say a date until they are 100% certain it will be then as to not get people’s hopes up, have released 2 Grubbles songs plus a bunch of snippets about the OST of the game, have interviewed like 10 people at WhatPumpkin for us to see the team behind the game, figures we already knew about in the Fandom, people that aren’t into Homestuck, professionals, amateurs, we even got concept art, the process of drawing backgrounds, the animation…

Have any of you complaining read the Interviews? With everyone mentioning their pride about the game? Talking about how excited they are to show you things about it? Of fucking course they want to release it already too, but they CAN’T. They. Cannot. Release. It. Yet. And none of your complaining is going to make it speed up. You know what crying like a baby is going to do and shouting the interviews don’t matter what will result in? Radio silence again. Would you prefer that? Total uncertainty about anything regarding the game than at LEAST seeing something?

And I get it. I get it’s been a long long time. I get some of you actually paid money for the Kickstarter. But you’re literally doing what Game Dev companies nowadays are doing all the time. You’re so centred on getting your hands on something early and meeting a stupid deadline that you’re willing to kill a project and receive a mess instead. The only constructive criticism above is the one mentioning they’d like to hear about the progress of the game itself and not the Dev Team. And you know why it will never happen?

Because they did it already. They thought their game was at 99% and announced a release date, then it backfired on them. They will NEVER tell us, ‘Oh, the game is JUST about to come out!’ because if they bump into another hiccup they’re going to have to delay it. And the last time that happened, y’all started to scream at them to just release it already and disregarded any show of good faith because you apparently can’t wait a single second longer after five years of waiting.

The most grating thing is people STILL STUCK on the January 2017 date have obviously not read any post they made talking about not wanting to get people’s hopes up until they’re 100% certain it’s just around the corner, and yet they keep popping up on every single piece of media they release about the game like bots bent on spreading negativity.

Be glad you’re even getting this game in the first place after the hell it’s gone through with The Odd Gentlemen and an ungrateful following.

“It’s rare for you to prefer sitting outside instead of in away from the bugs,” Kuroo mused softly.

He had finally found Kenma sitting by himself on the hill by the cafeteria building.  His friend was tucked against the roots of a tree, knees pulled up to his chest and his hood pulled down low.  It was late, and the night was cool.  Chilly even, thanks to Kuroo’s freshly-washed hair.  He and Lev had returned to the Nekoma room from their extra practice to find Kenma had ‘gone off somewhere’ according to Yaku.  And although Kuroo doubted that even Kenma could get lost on a school campus, it put his mind at ease to go looking for him.

“You’re not cold?” Kuroo lowered himself onto the grass beside his friend.

Kenma’s only response was to shake his head, bringing his arms up and folding them across his knees.

Ahh… he’s upset about something.

It happened on a Tuesday. A regular day you might say, however it was the day everything changed for Peter Parker. There he was on his chemistry class thinking it was just another boring class, another wasted hour, at least he thought that until the door opened, revealing the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.

Standing in front of the class was Y/n Stark. Everybody knew who you were, your dad was Iron man, for God sake! You came in the classroom with a designer outfit and bag that was probably more expensive than Peter’s whole wardrobe.

Peter continued to watch you as the teacher told you to seat right at the front of the class. Not only were you a really pretty girl, with the brightest smile and the kindest eyes, but you also had to be very intelligent, since this was the Chemistry AP class. Well of course she is intelligent dumbass! Her father is Tony Stark! She has obviously been in his labs before!

After that first time he saw you everything went downhill. He could never gather the courage to talk to you, let alone ask you out, so he settled for watching you from afar. She probably thinks I’m a creeper, Peter thought, however he couldn’t bring himself to care. He could watch as your smile got bigger when someone told you a joke, and how your eyes will get particularly bright whenever you got a good grade at math. He didn’t care about anything else.

Not long after your arrival to the school he got his so-called “stark internship”,  or his role as Spiderman. This didn’t change much for him. He was still a nerd loser and you were still  a popular girl that was way out of his league.

“Seriously dude! how come you’ve never even said a word to her?” Ned asked Peter as they made their way into the gym.

“Is not that easy Ned! She doesn’t even know I exist!”

“But you are like, totally in love with Y/!” Peter quickly muffled Ned’s mouth, stopping the boy from saying anything else.

“Geez Ned! Don’t you want to shout it to the world?!” Peter started lowering his hand and headed towards the group of people exercising. “You can’t just go around saying that! Someone might hear you!”

“I’m sorry but, like, I still can’t believe it! Don’t you see her everyday? in the, you know, Stark Internship?”

Since Ned found out about Peter being Spider Man he had made questions non-stop, pretty ridiculous questions, if you asked Peter.

“Ned I don’t just hang out at the Avenger’s tower you know? I have to be on the streets! Besides, she is totally off limits I mean! She is Mr. Stark’s daughter! He would kill me if-”

“Shhh- SHhhhhh! Peter listen!”

This time he was the one to shut up as both boys listened to a conversation happening at the bleachers across them. It was Y/n, looking as beautiful as she always did, surrounded by her usual crowd.

“Sooo Y/n, you must be surrounded by all those superheroes at your house right? You know, because of your dad?

“Well not all the time, but yeah, they hang out pretty often” She responded, trying to sound chill about the topic. Not everybody noticed, but Peter knew just how tired she felt about having to talk about his dad and the avengers all the time. None of the people that followed her around really knew her. Yes they knew about her life and her family, but besides that no one seemed to take interest in getting to know her for real.

That was kind of the reason why he prefered to hide his identity. Well, that and the possibility of being kidnapped and killed.

“Are you friends with them?”  “Are they nice?” “Are they hot?” “Is Captain America a real blonde?”

A load of questions were asked at you, however one catched Peter’s attention again.

“Are you friends with spiderman? Do you know who he is?”

“I’ve actually never talked to him, he’s never at the tower when I’m there” she replied shrugging her shoulders. She really was clueless to the hero’s identity.

“Seriously Y/n? Weren’t you supposed to be Spiderman #1 fan?” Y/bf/n asked, as she wiggled her eyebrows at Y/n.

A blush spread to the girl’s cheeks as she smiled shyly. Of course she had a tiny crush with Spider Man (even though she didn’t have a clue of who he was), however he never seemed to hang around the tower as the other Avengers. Maybe he liked being alone.

The conversation was quickly dropped after the coach told them all to get back to work, however Ned was not done.

“Dude! She likes you!” You have to talk to her tonight!”

“She doesn’t like me! She likes Spider Man, not Peter, besides-”

“I swear to God that if you don’t make a move on her tonight I will stop being friends with her! You have to promise me you will try! Deal?

“Deal”

Could it be possible that the most beautiful girl he had ever laid his eyes on had a thing for him? Even if it was the suit she was in love with Peter couldn’t stop the smile that crept through his face all day and the knot he felt on his stomach every time he looked at Y/n.

And that is exactly why he found himself later that night ready to go talk to the girl of his dreams. He already knew the crew will be out with Mr Stark in some mission he was not allowed, so that cleared the way for him. And anyways he was always welcomed in the tower, at least that what they always told him.

“You can do this Peter, you got this”

Peter tried to give himself a little of motivation before knocking on your door, however he couldn’t find the strength to raise his hand and knock on it, he felt like a bundle of nerves! None of his previous fights or encounters had him feeling this way, he seriously needed to control himself! Peter tried once again to knock on the door only to be stopped when the door opened completely, revealing Y/n in her pj’s and her glasses, apparently ready to go to bed.

Both teenagers looked at each other with complete shook in the faces, one behind his mask of course. The girl was completely speechless, she couldn’t believe the Spider Man was in front of her! And had seen her in just some sweats! She blushed deeply as she realised her appearance.

Peter tried to think of something, anything to say to her, however he couldn’t seem to find the words. After a long silence Y/n finally broke the silence as she leaned against the door.

“I can’t believe Spider Man is at my door! To what do I owe the pleasure?”

The girl was trying to keep it together, however she was still freaking out, but she couldn’t let her stupid crush affect her! This was her chance to get to know him! She could feel her flirtier side creeping up, trying to smile wider and lean closer to the boy.

“Well- I umhh- I just wanted to- you know- visit my favorite Stark” Peter said as he tried to recover from his initial shook.

“Then I guess you are looking for my dad, however he is not around”

“I actually meant you, I’ve been waiting to meet you for a long time now”

The girl was surprised by what the boy had just said. Did he know her? How come they had never met before?

Y/n started moving inside her bedroom once again, looking over her shoulder to continue “Since I’ve got no plans for tonight you might want to hang for a while, you know, to get to know each other and stuff”

Peter did not need to be told twice before he followed her around and into her room. Well, bedroom was an understatement to what her place really looked liked. It seemed more like a apartment of her own, with a big tv are, followed by what appeared to be her studio with a shit ton of books and finally her actual bed. She went into the couch in front the TV as Peter followed her close behind. She finally seated down facing the boy.

“Why are you here with me right now and not saving the world as usual?”

“Can’t a man take a break every once in awhile? Besides, I’m pretty sure your dad is taking care of that at the moment”

“You are probably right, sooo anyways..You said you had wanted to meet me for a long time, so here I am, what is it that you wanna know?”

“Well nothing in particular- it’s just that- you are- you are a really beautiful girl”

The girl felt herself blush at the words of the boy behind the mask. He probably did have a thing for her then? There was only one way to find out the truth.

Y/n leaned closer to Peter, looking into what she supposed were his eyes and took him by the shoulder as she played with the curls in the back of his head.

“So you think I’m a beautiful girl?” She said with a teasing voice, trying to make the boy a little nervous, obviously succeeding.

“The most gorgeous I’ve meet”

Peter could say this without any hesitation. Right in front of him was the most beautiful girl on earth. Her big eyes were looking at him and she was even closer than before, he was getting kind of nervous, but her fingers in his hair kept him just in place, right where she wanted him.

“So if I’m so beautiful, how come you’ve never paid me a visit before?”

She had started talking in mere whispers, now moving her other hand into his chest, playing with the material of his suit.

“I wanted to!- I totally wanted to but- you know your dad’s rules right? I’m not really allowed to”

She started to lift his mask, revealing only his mouth before saying.

“Well Spider-boy, you should already know I don’t play by my father’s rules”

Right after she finished she crashed her lips into Peter’s making the boy let out a surprised gasp. He was kissing her! They were kissing! He couldn’t believe it!

Meanwhile the girl was feeling exactly the same. She didn’t knew where she got the guts to do it, but she was glad she did.

His fingers sanked  into her hair as they continued kissing, Peter finally out of his trance brought his other hand to the girl’s face and cupped it, deepening the kiss further.

He felt himself biting into the girl’s lips, as a quiet moan escaped her lips. Y/n pulled apart only to straddle his hips with her thighs and roll her hips along the way, giving them both a little of the friction they needed, but not enough.

Peter grabbed her waist trying to pull her closer to him, his hand making their way to her legs, touching and stroking her thighs. They were heavy breathing, kissing longer, harder, rougher. Both teenagers tried to take and taste as much as possible, urgent and desperately, fighting for dominance.

He pulled apart and went straight for her neck, sucking and biting, leaving what would sure become hickeys by the morning. His morning somewhat bored with her long legs moved to her hips once again, before sliding under her t-shirt and holding her closer, moving his hand right under her bra.

The soft whimpers that would leave her mouth every time he bite a specific part kept him going. Another movement yet another time they would feel that friction and that need to pull harder at the other.

Y/n as getting pretty tired of that stupid mask getting in the way, so she pulled apart ready to get it off him, however a noise down the kitchen distracted her. She heard her dad’s voice calling for her! The whole team was there already? How had they missed it?

Peter realised the situation as well  as he quickly pull stood up and headed towards the window.

“I really have to get going, I’m sorry!”

“Will I see you again?”

Peter pulled the girl close to him for one last kiss, a long lingering one. A kiss he had dreamed over and over again.

“Sooner than you think”

With this last words the boy pulled his mask down and disappeared through the window, swinging his way from building to building.

Man! He could not wait to tell Ned the good news!

A/N: Thank you to all those who followed me and read my first fic!  I’m thinking of doing a part two to this one, so if you like it, let me know!

Your fire escape had always been your favourite part of your apartment.  Situated outside your bedroom window, you had spent countless hours of your life lounging on the metal steps, reading a book or catching up on some homework.  Last summer, you had wound a string of fairy lights around the rails, which were coated in shiny dark paint.  Your landlady had protested at first but, after you proved that they weren’t endangering the use of the fire escape in any way, she had let you keep them.  The small victory had brought a smile to your face, and now your escape was even cozier than before, and was still just as cozy a year later.  This year’s summer brought scorching heat and clear nights, and you spent most of your free time out on your escape, trying to catch a breeze.

You sat on your fire escape now, wearing a lightweight hoodie and pajama shorts, doodling in a journal.  School was out for the week and tomorrow didn’t require a six am wake up call, leaving you free to stay up late and admire the Queens skyline at night.  It was nights like these that you loved the most; nights that seemed like they were pulled straight from a movie scene, with stars that glimmered like flames, a full moon bigger than you had ever seen before, and the sounds of the city mixing in with the quiet melodies that drifted out of the speakers propped up on your window sill.  You would be content for the rest of your life if you could keep moments like these forever.
