At ADHDKyle not only manages and rocks all things web-tech, he writes complicated code and creates some of the coolest 3-D GIFS around. In his spare time, he makes short films, sketches daily, and is rarely found without his skateboard. Oh, and he’ll never miss a good house party.
Punk San Francisco-er with an affinity for yoga, smoothies and all things alien, Josh doesn’t surprise folks when he turns up to work with a new tattoo. At ADHD, Josh makes GIFS and has a gift with neon and monsters… THIS IS YOUR BRAIN ON JOSH.
ELAINE DUTKE: “After spending your life as a performer, does it feel strange to be wearing another hat?”
GEORGE: “In a way. When I was acting, there was always the feeling that the
artists were the clever ones who do everything—and then there were these
horrible people who put the money up and don’t know anything. Everyone
subscribed to that old Hollywood myth that Executive producers hate
everything and chop everything up after you’ve done it. When they’d walk
into a studio, it would be, “Look out, lads, here comes ‘The Money,’ ”
with everybody cringing at those fat cats. So it is sort of funny being a
simple musician who’s now a producer or—inverted commas—“The Money.” I
can see it from both sides. It’s nice to let people have as much
artistic freedom as possible, but I’m the one who has to pay back the
bank. If they want total freedom, they have to get their own money and
make their own films. It has to be a give and take. But I think we’re
quite reasonable.” - Excerpt from the 1988 article, “Handmade Man: An Interview with George Harrison”
ANIMATION DOMINATION HIGH-DEF ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Faye Orlove
Faye Orlove is the kind of girl you wonder about. You might wonder a lot of things, like what she loves so much about Miley, or if you’re safe near her when she’s wearing those steel toed boots, or if a song has ever been written about her. Actually, a song has been: “She’s a sensitive speaker/with a real tough soul/an independent thinker/can’t keep her in control.” Her voice comes across in all of her work - from gifs and illustrations to the alternative bi-weekly webpaper she started with a friend called FVCK THE MEDIA - it is clear and it is loud and thus, her work is out of this world. “She don’t need no one to tell her what to do/to tell her what to think or tell her what is true.”
ANIMATION DOMINATION HIGH-DEF ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Polly Guo
It’s easy to get lost in Polly’s work. There’s lots of it, and we’ve yet to find one piece we don’t think is completely awesome. At ADHD Polly does character design and storyboards on short films. Out of the office, she writes, draws comics, cooks, and watches procedural TV dramas and old movies. As someone who loves the ever changing landscape of feminism and gender/race politics, she’s inspired by the people around her and wants to draw from her experiences. You should also know that Polly un-ironically loves Justin Bieber.
If you want to find Cary Lockwood, look for long black hair, round rimless glasses, and layers of black clothing. At ADHD you’re most likely to find him working on background deign for Lucas Brothers Moving Co. or unreleased show, Stone Quackers. If he’s not there, he might be making jewelry or hanging out with his cat - he could also be watching sci-fi movies or Japanese animation. If you still can’t find him, stop looking. He’s probably eating sushi.
At ADHD Jay is an animation director, a storyboard artist on the shorts team, and helps out with animation and design from time to time. Outside of work, Jay balances chill time with productivity, which is probably how he managed to have time to make FIRST WORLD MONSTER PROBLEMS with his super talented animation team.
ANIMATION DOMINATION HIGH-DEF ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Parker Jackson
You don’t want to explain Parker Jackson in too many words cause you’ll surely miss something. His work speaks for itself and for him. In some words: thoughtful; skateboard; sensitive; lover of animals; kind; talent that’ll knock ya off your feet…
ANIMATION DOMINATION HIGH-DEF ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Henry Bonsu
Henry Bonsu is also known as Henry the Worst. People who know him would probably tell you he’s the best but he’d certainly shake his head. He’s the kind of guy who has style, and it’s more than apparent in his work. From the jazz musicians he draws in his own time, to the character Wallencio who shows up in many of his GIFS for ADHD, he’s got that special sauce for sure.
Matt started at FOXADHD 2 years ago as one of the original FOXADHD Shorts Team members. Now he is the Animation Director for Lucas Bros. Moving Co. In between he storyboarded for Lucas Bros. and Stone Quackers. Outside of FOXADHD he makes goofy blogs with Sean Glaze, plays mean guitar and drums, and loves the The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack.
ANIMATION DOMINATION HIGH-DEF ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Spencer Wan
Spencer told someone recently that all he thinks - meaning all day everyday - is animation. What more is there to say? He’s from New York, he wears an awesome necklace that might be magical and he looks pretty dang great in tanks.
Amanda describes herself as the upbeat bridge troll guarding the gateway to the ADHD fortress. She controls the lighting colors in the building based on her mood and she knows everybody’s name. Outside of ADHDAmanda makes experimental films and does live visuals for bands & DJ’s. She also works at Mount Analog and spends endless time reading about and hoarding music. She’s also got a thing for cartoons. Surprise surprise.
