24 November 2014:  Sunset, Heckfield, Hampshire.  Went to this beautiful place to paint a sunset and wasn’t disappointed.   A low mist descended, which made everything feel so romantic.  The downside was that it got really cold - so I was pleased to get back to my car and turn the heater on full!   I altered the tree a bit when I got back to the studio - making it more impressionistic to fit in with the rest of the painting.

The world may not be ready for the likes of villainous Cybersquirrels, but this Cyberman squirrel feeder is completely awesome. It would look fantastic hanging beside our Horse Head Squirrel Feeder and Big Head Squirrel Feeder.

British Whovian Emma Young spent hours making this geektastic Doctor Who-themed squirrel feeder using a novelty Cyberman radio, which she disassembled and then padded with felt, before filling it with a combination of peanuts and peanut butter. The 40-year-old mother of two then hung the feeder at just the right height in her garden in Beaulieu, Hampshire, England. After that the Young family sat back and watched the squirrels investigate her creation.

‘The first squirrel to approach was ‘very nervous,’ Emma said. ‘But the smell of the peanuts quickly overcame any wariness, and he reached up and got stuck in. It was hilarious to watch. Well worth all the time and effort.’

Let’s just hope cybersquirrels don’t have any cybermats of their own. They’d make it awfully difficult to refill the feeder.
