also known as the Hammerhead stork or the Anvilhead. is a medium sized bird at around 56cm long. they can be found in most of Africa, Madagascar and parts of Arabia. true to their order they are a wading bird an can be found in and around estuaries, riverbanks and coasts. this bird is unique in that they are the sole species in their family and genus, true to their name they have a long and flat bill and a crest in the back which looks like a hammer, they are a brown color with black bills and legs. another unique feature about Hamerkops is their large nest that they can make up o 1.5m across with 10,000+ sticks enough to support a humans weight.
