halloween 1995

Halloween, 1995

I have this headcanon where Remus turned up at lonely Grimmauld Place on Halloween in 1995 (fall of book 5 - in between his order tasks, and when other order members weren’t around) and got drunk with Sirius. And it was the first time any of the marauders spent that night together since the night Lily and James died. And it was both sad and good and well needed.

Movies to watch starting tomorrow, October 1st.

Also these that I don’t have in my collection:

  • Trick or Treat (1986)
  • Lady in White (1988)
  • Jack O (1995)
  • WNUF Halloween Special (2013)

And a few I haven’t seen before:

  • Boo (2005)
  • Hack O Lantern (1988)
  • Halloween Night (2006)
  • Halloweenight (2009)
  • House of Fears (2007)
  • The Midnight Hour (1985)
  • The Little Girl Who Lives Down The Lane (1976)
  • The Pumpkin Karver (2006)
  • Trick or Treats (1982)
  • Once Bitten (1985)
  • The Basement (1989)
  • Cemetery of Terror (1985)

And to round off each night, a few episodes of:

  • Tales from the Crypt (1989–1996)
  • Tales from the Darkside (1983–1988)
  • The Munsters (1964–1966)
  • The Addams Family (1964–1966)

“Can I keep you?”

I find myself watching that scene from 1995 movie “Casper” and thought what if Adrien was one of the ghosts in the manor where the Dupain-Cheng family moved into. 👻 (Now I’m figuring out how to make a Casper-like Adrien lol).

I tried to see if anyone posted a picture of that idea on Tumblr but couldn’t find any…so ta-da!

FUN MEMORY I WILL NEVER FORGET, HALLOWEEN 1995: I was working as a shot girl in a nightclub in Springfield “armpit of the Bible Belt” Missouri, wearing a Joy Division t-shirt identical to the above as well as a red satin cherryblossom-patterned miniskirt and platform Mia boots I wish I still had. Some frat/evangelical dude came up to me like, “What are you supposed to be, a gothic schoolgirl?” I was like, “Myself, asshole” and refused to sell him a shot. THAT’S ALL I GOT.

I recently ordered a crap ton of things on Amazon. I got one of the last things in the mail today, thinking it was gonna be the horror anthology Book of the Dead. I brought it up and as I opened it, I noticed it was a DVD. I thought, “Maybe I opened my roommates mail”. I pulled it out slowly and saw:

This song was a hit 30 years ago, this performance was recorded 20 years ago, and it was the last time all of these people were on stage together.

Litmus Test 3:

I bought a straight edge zine Andy took part in for an interview! And it came today, some fun bullet points of things I didn’t know.

  • He became straightedge Halloween 1995 (this year was his 20th edgeversary)
  • Mom had him going to drug counseling before, and it wasn’t working, and he was drinking doing drugs (which has been brought up before) and overall ruining his life. Didn’t care about counseling/rehab or any of that just kept wanting to continue on the path of drugs/drinking.
  • He found his atheism young, going to church with his Mom and realizing it felt very fake to him, and he didn’t need god to validate his life. (Actual quote “I dont need gods or masters”)
  • He considers the hardcore scene magical, and finds it really important to play in hardcore bands and get that side of his creative outlet out, believes it can’t be replicated in any other genre.
  • Not really a new thing but he talked about how straight edge weaponized his body for justice becoming edge and I dig it.
  • Also not new but he managed to work crossfit into a straight edge interview and I hate him.
